Serena woke up with a start. She had fallen alseep when she should have been studying. Looking at the clock, she realized that she had slept all night, and she was going to be late for class! And there was a major test in math today. I guess I shouldn't worry about it too much, she thought, I'm going to fail it anyway, I might as well accept it. Picking up her books and tossing them in her backpack, she ran a hand through her messy hair, and didn't even bother fixing her smeared makeup as she left her dorm room and headed for class.

As she entered her math class and sat down, she noticed that the entire class was staring at her unkempt appearance. She slacked in her seat, and threw everyone a sarcastic smile that said, Go on, keep looking. I might just give you something to look at.

Stephen was on a roll this morning. Had he been up the previous night as he planned to do before, there would have been a conflict of interest. On the one hand, it would have been a great time over at the club. But on the other hand, it would have been his last night at the club because he would then have failed his math course and promptly flunked right out of college and all the way back to the 'burbs, where a great future as either a patty-flipper or lawn-care specialist would have awaited him. So he'd turned down the offered prize of a night at the club and instead gone out to study his maths all night.

It didn't seem to have paid off.

Stephen beat a hasty path across the quad to his first class, arriving just behind Serena. He eased himself into the seat next to her, put on a concerned face, and intoned, "You look like hell. Rough night?"

Not that Stephen looked much better. He had purple bags under both eyes so deep and dark they may as well have been black eyes, his hair was unkempt, his t-shirt wrinkly and his hat was on too far back on his head, and he hadn't even bothered to correct it yet. He chuckled. "We're so fucked," he said to himself, turning back towards his desk and smiling a demented smile for no real reason other than it was what his brain put on there.

John woke up in a haze in the living room of his frat house. in a couple of seconds as the memories of the night before came back so did a giant migraine. "great." he said as he got up and put a shirt on. "god i'm hungry." he said to himself and picked up his wallet and his sunglasses and walked out to go to the closest Starbucks. he got in his 97 Chevy Camaro and drove to starbucks. when he got there he ordered a cappuccino and a bunch of random pastries and sat down and ate. he didn't have class until 2 PM. he took late classes because he didn't want to have to go to class with a hangover. it was about 10 AM so he had about 4 more hours till class. he got back into his care with some leftover food and drove into the middle of the campus while still eating. when he got out of his car he had finished eating so he threw away his trash. after that he just walked around campus looking for some of his friends.

"I wish I had a rough night," Serena said to Stephen. "I might've actually passed the test. But no, I slept the whole fucking night away." She sighed. "I should've drunk more energy drinks." She ran her hand through her hair one more time, in a vain attempt to untangle it. "Up for a night at the Blue Fox?" she asked him. "I got a cousin whose a batender there. That means half price off drinks!"

She knew that she shouldn't go out right after almost certainly failing a test, but on the hand, when is a better time to get drunk than when you fail?

"Half price you say?" Stephen said happily. He smiled a bit wider, looking back towards Serena. "Evidently you speak fluent poor-kid-ese, because that sounds right up my alley." He locked eyes with her for a second, then a thought came to him and he looked away. One hand plunged into the messenger bag that always hung from his left shoulder and began fishing around. Eventually, he looked contented, for he removed his hand from the bag, holding what looked like an Italian switchblade. When he pushed the release, however, a comb popped out instead. It looked to be fairly well-cared for, and may have never been used by the looks of Stephen's face and beard.

"Figure you need it more than I do," he intoned pleasantly, offering the comb-blade to her.

"I don't know whether to be flattered or insulted," Serena said with a smile as she took the comb. "I thought you were about to pull out a knife and hack it off yourself." She took out her compact mirror and started fixing her hair, and wiping her makeup off with her finger. "And of course I know how to speak poor-kid-ese, the only money I ever growing up was whatever I could steal from my Bum-bum's purse." Seeing the look on Stephen's face, she quickly said, "That's what I call my grandmother. I used to have a grandfather that I called Bean. Don't ask why, I don't know myself." She took another look at him, and pulled her makeup bag out.

"You know, I have some concealer that will do wonders for those bags under your eyes..."

Savannah Clemmens had already been on campus for about 2 hours by now. Her Organic Chemistry lab started at 8am and nothing screamed 'sexy' like a girl in full-on plastic goggles and a white lab coat that was three times bigger than it had to be. She looked much better now, of course, in her black button-up shirt thrown over a lacy tank and a pair of worn jeans after having survived her first class of the day. Sav had another hour or two before her next class to kill now so it was the perfect time to hang up her self-made posters offering tutoring help for so much per hour.

To be honest, she didn't need the money since her scholarships more than paid for her school, books, apartment, even some extra spending cash but tutoring was easier than working some sort of cashier job somewhere so she figured... Why not? Make some extra cash, pretend like she was doing the world a favor and she would still have most of her weeknights and her weekends free for whatever it was she wanted to do.

Walking by the Commons Building, she paused by the corkboard outside and stabbed a thumbtack through her notice. The one you see everywhere with little rectangles of paper dangling off the bottom with a phone number to contact if the advertisement interested you.

Stephen laughed, fastening the clasps on his messenger bag as he retracted back into his own little world of Stephenland (Pop. ~1, depending on the day). "I wasn't ever going to question you about the bum-bum thing. And trust me, I would warn you before taking your hair off with a knife." He smiled. "And besides, what would I do with it?" He then steepled his fingers before him and returned to patiently waiting for the test to start. He'd been told by all of his childhood mentors to face death with dignity, and he extended that to facing inevitable failure with dignity.

Then Serena offered the coverup. Steven smiled. "Sorry, hon, but I only wear makeup for the theater, and even then it takes a few gallons of horse tranquilizer to get it on me." He shook his head. "Thanks, but no thanks."

After John got out of class he walked out of the building and started walking to his car. along the way he saw a cute girl posting some note onto a board so he went to check it out. along the way he saw that it was an info poster so he leaned up against the wall and said "what subjects are you tutoring?" with his Russian accent. he was wearing jeans and his favorite blue button up shirt with his Winchester varsity Letterman jacket. "because i might need a little bit of tutoring."

Serena put the makeup back in her bag, and turned to face the front of the room. "You're no fun," she said with a playful pout. Professor Jenkins came into the room, and the test began. As she thought about the problems before her, she stuck the tip of her tongue out, out of impulse, and she furrowed her brow. She looked over at Stephen and saw him concentrating just as hard. As she was filling out the answers, she briefly wondered if she could bribe the professor to give her a good grade. She didn't entertain the thought long, as she didn't have enough money that would even tempt him. Sex wouldn't work either, as he was gay.

She sighed and finished her test with what she knew was a failing grade. She turned her test in, and headed out the door. She placed herself on the bench outside the classroom to wait for Stephen to finish. In the meantime, she started fixing herslef up better so that she didn't look like a rape victim.

Turning her head as she saw someone ambling up to lean against the wall beside her, Savannah couldn't help but crack a grin at the guy's accent. As all girls knew, accents were uncommon and thus, sexy as all hell. She blushed slightly, just a bit, for unknown reasons before answering. "Ah, that depends. What do you need help in?" The comment sounded flirtatious and she had meant for it to be but it was also quite serious. "I can really tutor in anything except for English and Literature. Those are way over my head. I never understood the whole "Looking for a deeper meaning in whatever this author wrote" sort of thing."

She was babbling. Oh great. "Chemistry, biology, anatomy, physics, computer sci...?"

"Sports management?" he said and followed with "maybe if you can't do that you can help me turn on my computer." he said jokingly and laughed. "i'm john by the way, and if you haven't noticed i grew up in Russia, i'm just telling you now because the probability of you asking me later is very high." he said and laughed again. John was always overall happy but he was even more happy when he saw cute girls. "i like to joke a lot what can i say." he said as his laugh winded down though he was still smiling.

Seeley had been awake for some time. She'd showered, threw on a pair of faded jeans and a deep purple v-neck and feel back into bed with her laptop, her wavy brown hair pulled into a messy side ponytail. She was typing furiously away at her creative writing assignment, inspiration hitting her in the face when her alarm went off. Her roommate, Savannah, had gone out. She'd heard the door shut behind her on the way out. She was grateful for her roommate. Although they were very similar, they were also very different. Plus, where Savannah had trouble, in English and literature, is where Seeley succeeded. They were the perfect roommates. She had made a goal for herself this year. Since she had turned 21, it wasn't like it was illegal anymore anyway. She'd feel better about that part. She was going to go put herself out there. Party a bit? She bit her lip at the thought.

"Yep, that's me, just a big ol' funsucker," Stephen said in an exaggerated tone, complete with hands-waved-over-his-head enthusiasm. Then he straightened his hat (finally, it was starting to bug him) and watched as Professor Jenkins passed out the test. Stephen knew that it was going to end badly right off the starting line; mostly because his mind entirely shut down within the first thirty seconds of the test. Forty five seconds later his brain partially came back online, and he proceeded into the test. He got about halfway with brazen confidence, his mind slowly coming back online, tidbits about the math trickling slowly, slowly into his front brain as he began executing the formulas one by one.

And then he crossed over the midpoint, and his brain broke down. And wouldn't start again. Well, not entirely. Stephen sat staring at the test, waiting for his brain to come back online and spew something, anything back at him. Unfortunately, what came back at him was a song.

Serena would have to wait a while for her friend to come out of the classroom, mostly due to the fact that The Coasters' Yakety Yak had infiltrated his head instead of math until the last fifteen minutes of the test, but when he came out he seemed confident. He flopped down onto the bench and put on a mock-sad face when he looked over at Serena. "I done bad," he said, eyes wide and wobbly, lower lip jutting out in his best attempt at a sad-puppy-dog face.

It... Wasn't very good.

Savannah laughed after John started to, shaking her head at his topic of choice. "I play volleyball but I doubt I could actually teach you anything about Sports management. More of a science geek myself..." Reaching up to her shoulder she tugged lightly at the strap to her backpack, adjusting it so that the books inside distributed their weight a little more evenly. "But yeah, turning on your computer I could definitely do... It's a pleasure to meet you John, I'm Savannah or Sav and I am quite American. Your accent is...." Intriguing, sexy, amazing... "Nice." Nice? Who said that? He was going to think she was absolutely special now that she said such a thing.

Groaning inwardly, she ran a hand through her wavy blond tresses, pushing them back away from her face as she tried again. "Ahh, well look John if you really do need a tutor, my number is right here." She plucked one of the squares from the bottom of the sheet and handed it towards him with a wide grin. "If not... Well, you can still feel free to call. I've been thinking of dragging my roommate out since she just hit 21. Maybe you can join us."

"thanks most people think my accent is annoying because they can not understand what i am saying some of the time. its nice to hear something good. and sure i'm always up for a little partying." John said. "but lets try to not have me end up waking up on the floor with a giant headache like this morning." he said with a grin. "by the way, do you need a ride anywhere? my car is just over there." he said pointing to a parking lot 1 block away. "just thought i'd ask."

Sav turned her head to look in the direction he had pointed and another grin swept her lips. "Nice ride! But no thanks. I have class in..." she slipped her cell phone out of her pocket and checked the time, "Another hour so I should really stick around campus." It was odd how randomly people usually seemed to meet on campus but then again... That was the joy of college life, right? Meeting friends unexpectedly.

"Do you live off campus? Did you just move here from Russia?" The two questions came out almost back to back and she felt her cheeks heat up once more as she realized that she sounded like the was interrogating him. Poor guy.

Serena couldn't help but laugh at Stephen's face. "I think we both epically failed it. Maybe we shouldn't go out tonight. We should study instead." She picked up her bag and slung it over her shoulder. "Psych. Oh, and here's your switch-comb back, thanks. Well, I guess I'll see you at the end of the day, since we don't have any other classes together," she said, then waved goodbye as she headed to her next class.

The rest of the day didn't really go any better than Math class. She had a hard time concentrating on anything, as all she coul think about was the test, and how she tanked it. She couldn't wait for the night, so that she could drown her anxieties with some mojitos. After the last class had ended, she sighed with relief and headed back to her dorm. Her roommate, Linda, wasn't there, for which she was glad, as she would want to go to the Blue Fox with her. She didn't really like Linda, so bringing her was the last thing she want. It would still be a little while before Stephen and her would actually leave, and she hoped that Linda would stay gone. Serena threw her backpack across the room in anger at her failed grade, spilling some of it's contents. Those drinks couldn't come soon enough.

She settled down at her vanity table/study desk, and began putting on her face, then put on her dress. http://www.upscalestripper.com/skin/frontend/default/homestore/images/media/root-cat-clubwear-dresses.jpg Liking how she looked, she relaxed on her bed and waited for it to be time to go.

Seeley finished her last sentence and smiled. She loved when she got the creative flow going. She glanced at the clock and realized she had class in another hour or so. Chemistry. She was taking it as one of her generals. She'd never been good at science, or math for that matter and relied on Savannah to explain a lot of things to her. She even helped her study. It was helpful. She finally pulled herself out of bed and slipped on her favorite pair of flats, before slipping her messenger bag over her shoulder and stepping outside.

Stephen gave his mock salute - two fingers to the brow, then off - as she walked away. He couldn't really place why he liked Serena, but he just did. She was a good friend, and as such she recieved preferential treatment compared to many of his other acquaintances, who sometimes got on his nerves or became tired of his bantering. Serena never seemed to get tired of that, and sometimes it seemed that they clicked on some sort of wavelength. Plus, they were both math deficient. They were in the same boat there.

The rest of the day passed as it always did, without much excitement. His Introduction to Journalism ate through a lot of time, then there was work-study, where he helped out in the kitchen doing meal prep. He had always enjoyed being a cook back home, and had worked several short-order jobs around town both as a way to support local industry and land cash in pocket. This was just an extension of that. Several hours later, there was his Russian course, and a brief meeting of the Literature Club, and then the night was free.

Stephen, as always, was dressed sensibly. He wore a rust-colored polo shirt with a black vest and a corduroy blazer over it, jeans and a pair of suede cowboy boots, purely because he liked the pointed toes. He topped the clothes off with his brass pocketwatch and his black bolwer hat, and then he set out after Serena, trying to keep his mind off the test at the beginning of the day. At Serena's room, he knocked three times and waited. When the door, inevitably, opened, he first noticed Serena's outfit. He gave her a brief up-and-down glance, not being greedy or overly lecherous, and smiled. "Hey there, good looking," he intoned in a fake-macho voice, before chuckling lightly. "You look good. You're definitely going to get some attention in that kind of outfit," he added, then looking past her to the backpack and its spilled goods.

"Uh, you dropped your backpack." He said somewhat off-handedly. Skipping forward past the backpack, he extended his arm and smiled. "To the club?"

"Will do," Savannah said as nonchalantly as possible even though inside she was wishing for the day to fly by as quickly as possible so that she could actually convince Seeley into going out with her tonight. Depending on her roommate's mood that either would take a ton of convincing and/or bribery or, if she was lucky, just asking would work.

The day, thankfully, did seem to fly by and by dinnertime she was walking back in the door. Seeley didn't seem to be home yet so she wrote a quick note that read,
Going out tonight. Met a cute guy. Getting ready now. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE go with me? <3, Sav
and she tacked it to Seeley's door before hopping into the shower.

Half an hour later, she emerged. Make up was in place, hair was done and her dress and pumps were all on. She was ready to go. Now all she needed was a partner in crime...

Seeley had arrived while Savannah was in the shower. She had stared at the note on her door for a few minutes in Sav's swirly handwriting and sighed. A battle was starting to rage in her mind. Savannah really wanted her to go. She'd tried to convince her countless of times, but Seeley always refused. Did she go tonight? Prove to everybody else and most importantly to herself, that she could go out and have fun? Be carefree? She took the note off the door and walked into her bedroom, staring at her bookshelf in the corner before her eyes slowly drifted to her closet. She gave in after a moment and opened it, finding the lonely party dress on its hanger in the back of the closet. The dress she'd bought just because. Just to own one.

Savannah tapped on Seeley's door first, then poked her head in to see what her roomie was doing. "You coming?!" her voice held that barely contained edge of excitement as she saw the other girl staring into her closet at her dress and she popped in, wrapping her arms around Seeley's shoulders as she slipped into begging mode. "Pleasepleaseplease? There's this Russian guy and I might tutor him and he's built and I sort of invited him to meet us there."

She spoke quickly and at the end of her coercion she batted her eyes at Seeley, trying to sway her into going out with her. "Just this one time?!" If Seeley accepted, her next step would be to call John and let him know they were on their way to the Blue Fox.

Tasha walked out of the dance studio. She was dressed in her leotard and ballet slippers. Her dorm wasn't far from the studio. She went to her dorm and decided to change, she jumped into the shower and started to get ready. She had wanted to go out tonight so she texted Serena. Hey what are you doing tonight?. She finished getting ready while waiting for Serena's reply. She was hoping to go out and meet some cute new boys at the Blue Fox.

I'll PM it for those who are clueless enough to not guess it.

Re: [OOC] The Party Years

Re: [OOC] The Party Years

I already know what this is. And there goes my good mood for the night...

Re: [OOC] The Party Years

Well, i'll help you out. here are some things to look for:

•Headache

•Weakness

•Clumsiness

•Difficulty walking

•Seizures

•Altered mental status: changes in concentration, memory, attention, or alertness

•Nausea, vomiting: especially early in the morning

•Abnormalities in vision (for example, double vision, loss of peripheral vision)

•Difficulty with speech

•Gradual changes in intellectual or emotional capacity

they are basically symptoms of a hangover. but thats obviously not the bombshell.

Re: [OOC] The Party Years

Oh great, you tell me you're going to drop something and then you don't just drop it with impunity. NOW I'M GOING TO TRY AND FIGURE IT OUT MYSELF. THANKS. Q_Q

Re: [OOC] The Party Years

much, much more conflict, and saddness will be invloved in the bombshell. but you won't know what it is for a while.

i've decided that there's not enough conflict, so i'm going to drop a bombshell about Serena. and no, she will not be pregnant.

Re: [OOC] The Party Years
