Wang Rou was born Hua Xiu, the crown prince of YinHua (also known as The Hidden Kingdom). Though he has an older brother, who was assumed to be the one crowned as heir to the throne, it was also known that this brother of his, Hua WeiSheng, was not the child of the king, but instead the result of a concubine's affair with another royal official. Hua Xiu, being truly of the king's own blood, was named as the heir to the Hua Dynasty upon his birth. This brought forth a dangerous animosity from Hua WeiSheng's mother, and immediately she began plotting to get rid of Hua Xiu.

Upon learning of his concubine's plans, the king decided it was safer to send Hua Xiu away until he was strong enough to return and claim his rightful place as crown prince. When Hua Xiu was five years old, the king locked away his memories and powers and hid him on a cargo ship out of the kingdom. When Hua Xiu awoke next, he had no recollection of who he was or where he came from. He was found by The First King of Tian Shi, who recognized him as a descended of the elves, though kept this to himself and took the boy in.

Now given the name Wang Rou, he was trained alongside other royal youth, excelling at swordsmanship and the use of talismans from the start. Seeing his potential, The First King presented a 14-year-old Wang Rou to his son, Lu Cai, as a companion and personal bodyguard. After a short time around each other, the powers that were locked away inside Wang Rou awakened the dragon spirit within Lu Cai. The two boys decided to keep this a secret, and instead Wang Rou used the knowledge he had learned from training with the Lu Sect to instruct Lu Cai on how to control this spirit.

As they grew older, Wang Rou and Lu Cai became inseparable. While he is cold and refined with everyone else, Wang Rou is warm and kind when he's with Lu Cai. Only the Magiman Prince can make Wang Rou smile, and sometimes even laugh. But now that the two of them are of an age where marriage, taking over thrones, and things of the sort are becoming important, their future seems uncertain. All Wang Rou knows is he will do anything to protect Lu Cai, even if it means death, or something worse.

He had been lurking in the shadows of the secret meeting-spot under the royal court and its castle. This was interesting, and for certain whatever was discussed made him not like it the least. "Mmm... old Long," he hummed in his mind to his guide and spirit residing within, "I think we were rightfully informed this time around. There is something going on and neither of us will like it." He saw First King Lu, silently sitting in his seat, head bowed down as if he was in a deep thought. Whenever the Council was around, he was different man than the one ZhenXi had known, but it suddenly hit him and he smiled in his mind, sharing the thought process with Nine-Tailed Fox Spirit, Old Long inside of him.

After the meeting, he got outside and as he was walking on the streets, he was in a deep conversation with his friend, residing inside of him: "So, this means that my dear father is plotting to do different things to poor Lu Cai. First - him becoming a sacrifce to the God Mountain, for him to become eunuch and to serve the Spirits until he dies. Second - to be married to some lowly royal, doesn't matter if a female or a male. Third - in any case, Cai's wife will be sent away to a brothel to serve as a slave and as one of the workers." He sighed. "Whatever they decide, I will not let that happen. Whatever they decide, any of those choices will take time to process and to plan, thus we have time to do what we need, Old Long - to make these two realize they are meant to be sticking together no matter what." The young prince smiled and turned a corner, then decided: "Right! Let's go buy some wine, we are out at the office!"

Wang Rou had heard murmurs of a private investigator in the city that could solve any case. While it had nothing to do with him or Lu Cai, the young man's curiosity had been piqued. If anything, he should find this person and try to create some sort of alliance with them. They could prove useful in the future.

Dressed in all white, and in no way trying to be inconspicuous, Wang Rou made his way gracefully through the streets of the capital. Most people knew him already, having seen him by Prince Lu Cai's side at every event, but even those who had never seen him in person knew just by his appearance who this man was. Dressed in all white, he clutched a white sword and carried a fuchen in the crook of his arm.

He stopped outside the supposed office of this mysterious private investigator, arching a brow. He then considered how to best continue. Should he just simply knock? Or perhaps a more secretive method would be better? It wasn't outside Wang Rou's abilities to be able to sneak into the building and surprise this stranger, but doing so was not only dangerous, it was rude.

Wang Rou sighed. Such a predicament.

As he was holding onto the twin bottles of his precious wine, made by a local Master, who was a mere citizen, but had such an amazing skills - Little Lu loved to support the old man's business as much as he could. Being the top customer had its own treats, even if he often refused to accept these.

Suddenly, he halted and as he was playing with the small bottles, he looked up and saw a familiar back standing on the doorstep of this shabby house, which he used and called as "office" ever so tenderly. It used to belong to a young farmer, who was framed for theft and murder and had been on the run per ZhenXi request, who kept sending the poor man money and keeping an eye on the house, which was major key into solving this mystery. Some said he was merely using the poor man, but those whom had come to know Young Master for whom he is, were loyal and said to believe into what he was doing. It was wrong to assume that Lu ZhenXi wasn't thankful for that.

"Oh boy," he mused, stepping beside Wang Rou, the guardian of his older brother, Lu Cai, "I thought for a moment that I will just hide my appearance with magic, but you know me well enough to see through my tricks... at least some of them." He spoke quietly and pushed the door open. "You may enter." Looking at the older and taller man, he winked and bowed in a joker way to appoint his guest inside, so he himself could follow.

When a familiar voice spoke from beside him, Wang Rou glanced sideways at the young prince.

"So you're not a stranger after all," he mused, following ZhenXi inside. "This infamous new private investigator was right under my nose this entire time. How convenient."

Wang Rou let his eyes wander, taking in his surroundings. The house was very humble, obviously having belonged to a commoner before ZhenXi decided to take over residence. With a soft sigh, he let his guard down a bit.

"I had heard about your reputation in solving cases. I thought to myself that anyone of that kind of intelligence could be of good use to Lu Cai when he ascends to the throne." Wang Rou's lips twitched up into a faint smirk. "But it seems this miraculously gifted scholar is already on his side."

He followed his friend and brother, although not by blood. Closing the door behind them, he placed the wine on the table in the middle of the main room and flicked his fingers, making the candles around them become alive with fire. ZhenXi was more adept with his magic than he let people know, which inclided Rou and Cai, although something said that Rou would figure it out anytime soon. ZhenXi had to be careful!

"I wouldn't say I am new. Yes, for this house, it does apply, but I started with this in age of thirteen, when my mother lost her precious comb. You could say I found the spark and joy of finding things and helping people," he smiled to Wang Rou and appointed towards a humble pillow across himself, as he took the seat.

"Talking about Big Brother Cai ascending to the throne...," he mused, looking straight at Rou, "I might have some news, and none of those is something either of you desire to hear in any matter or form. Please, take a seat."

Pouring the cold tea into two cups - one for each of them - he didn't care about the rules and ethics in this household. Wang Rou was his guest, thus he was going to serve him as a guest and take care of him. Zhen Xi smiled, but only just a little bit was seen on his lips, lingering for a mere moment, then disappearing once more.

He hated his own biological father, but he only showed dislike, just to keep his Mask on. Just to keep the pretence on, so he can protect Lu Kai and Wang Rou and First King Lu. His mother wasn't any better, always plotting with Second King Fan in silly little court matters. It never took them anywhere, their son was always many steps ahead, spoiling all the fun they could've had.

"Not just Brother Cai," he took a sip from his cold tea, and sighed deeply, showing sadness and worry, "it is a plot against both of you, Brother Rou. To separate you, to destroy you both." He waited for a moment, then slammed his fist against the table, showing a side of himself which no eye has witnessed before. "I don't want to be the King. Brother Cai and Brother Rou will be the rightful Heirs," hinting once more that this young man might know more than he is letting off.

Wang Rou took the cup of tea with a gracious nod of his head. He enjoyed watching the younger man play Host. It was cute. When Lu ZhenXi slammed his fist on the table, however, Wang Rou's amusement faded.

He had just taken a sip of tea when ZhenXi said that not only would Lu Cai be the "rightful heir", but Wang Rou, as well. Hearing this, he coughed, choking a bit on his drink and sputtering as his eyes widened.

"A'Xi," he murmured. "You know I have no place in the royal court except to be a guard for Lu Cai."

Though that were true, Wang Rou found himself fighting back a blush as the thought of standing by Lu Cai's side as his spouse briefly entered his mind. Just as quickly as the thought surfaced, he pushed it from his head and continued.

"Tell me. What is this plot against us? I'm sure it's nothing you and I can't handle," he said, taking another sip of tea.

"Gege," he shook his head, and took a really deep sigh, "this plot is far more bigger than just the two of us can handle." He stands up, after drinking rest of the tea comfortably and then walking over the window, hands placed together on the lower part of his back, "What they have planned for you both, it is just vile. I am glad you happened on my doorstep today, Gege Rou. It means Old Long was right, it is best to tell you exactly what happened, because you know Lu Cai better than I do." He turns around and takes a moment of silence to swallow all of it in. There was rage boiling in his veins, and it was hard to contain it all, but at the same time it gave him somekind of energy, even if it made the candle lights flicker here and there. His power was truly immense and it was surprising he was in such a good control of it, although at that moment it was Old Long, who was holding his boy back.

"There are two options for Gege Cai - either he is sent to become an eunuch at Gods Mountain and you know what it means - being sacrificed and stripped from his life, from everything of his, molded into a ghostly monk who lives day by day, not remembering his past life and barely eating, drinking nothing and guarding the Northern Borders of TianShi. It is the highest punishment for criminals... and I don't see our brother as one, just because he has no powers and has no use for my damned father." With the last statement, he solemnly admitted of hating his own, biological father, but at the same time ZhenXi knew Wang Rou would keep it to himself.

"Second one is he would be basically sold off to a lowly royalty, in marriage," he started walking in front of the window, back and forth, his shadow looking like an old man, old man with many tails of a fox, "a political playdeal. I don't know which will they choose, but for you, whatever plays out for Gege Cai, you will be sold with the highest prize to the infamous brothel..."

ZhenXi stopped and looked at Wang Rou, his dark eyes had turned to golden red, the color of his nine-tailed fox' power, and he was mad and worried and...

Though Wang Rou seemed outwardly calm, inside rage was bubbling up, threatening to break through his cold outer shell and send him into a rampage. But he was talented when it came to controlling his emotions, and so aside from a flicker in his dark eyes, he didn't react to Lu ZhenXi's words. However, ZhenXi was one of the few people who knew him best, and perhaps could tell just from that flash in his eyes that Wang Rou was feeling murderous.

Gently, he set his cup of tea down on the table, then remained silent, thinking over what had just been relayed to him.

"I can't say I'm surprised with the plan to sell me to a brothel," he stated softly. "Second King Fan has threatened this very thing to my face many times. I have expected and accepted this fate. What they are trying to do to Lu Cai DianXia, however... It is unacceptable."

Wang Rou ran delicate fingers over the carvings in his sword's scabbard. What he really wanted to do was break into the Royal Court and stab every single one of those worthless old men through their traitorous hearts. But that just would not do.

"Perhaps it's time for Lu Cai to show his power to the court. If they know he's not without a spirit after all, it could change the way they view him for the better."

From the moment Wang Rou's eyes met his own, he knew that the older man was feeling exatly the same deep within oneself, just like he was. It wasn't over, but it was merely the beginning of a war - this was an omen, he felt hovering over himself and the TianShi for past two years, and with each passing month, it only grew darker.

"You, out of anyone, know how much hate I hold toward that man, whom in public eye I call 'my father'," he spat out, the words like they were poison gathered through a long time, through all of his nineteen years of living, but he had never actually said it out loud, "I know, hate isn't the nicest of feeling, but it gives me the power to keep those I care of safe, but at the same time this bastard isn't a nice one either. I have found out secrets about him, that will destroy him if they were surfaced, but I have to keep my tongue for all of these bits and pieces to be used in the upcoming War." Even for ZhenXi himself, some of those words were strange, as he had spoken of tongue and of a prohpecy once again. After speaking of those words, he felt sudden dizziness, but managed to keep himself at bay. It nearly always happened, after he had spoken of an omen. It was part of his magical attributes, born along with the spirit within.

"I agree, Gege Rou," he managed to get himself back on the pillow, barely and still slightly dizzy, "It is unacceptacle, but he can't reveal himself. It is going against his safety, and yours. The only way to avoid this is to escape. There is a place... a place, where we would find all the answers needed," he looks up, holding onto the edge of the low wooden table, "most importantly all the answers you need, Wang Rou." Then he sighs, and murmurs, "Which comes to the fact that I actually need your help in something. A mystery I have been trying to crack."

"Escape?" he echoed with an arch of his brow. "Is that wise? Lu Cai will be on the run with all eyes looking for him. I can protect him, of course, but I don't know if that's the kind of life I want to give him."

Wang Rou lowered his gaze. Of course, Lu ZhenXi was right. Even if it was just to buy time, Wang Rou should take Lu Cai and run. As long as the crown prince was safe, they could formulate a plan to counter Second King Fan's plot.

When ZhenXi then asked for Wang Rou's help, his brow furrowed slightly as he once again raised his eyes to look at the young man he considered to be like a little brother.

"Where is this place? What sort of help can I provide?"

ZhenXi nodded, then shook his head: "He will be fine. You two won't be going alone. I will be coming with you both," he explained and poured himself another small cup of a tea and swallowed it heavily, "I don't have contacts only in TianShi, Wang Rou. I have them everywhere. These 'scouting trips' that I have been taking in the name of Royal Prince Lu ZhengXi weren't for training solely, it was for marketing and finding what information I needed to find." Little Lu admitted and smiled to Wang Rou, although there wasn't any happiness in this.

"Ah!" he then perked up and nodded, getting himself up and then walking over to the door on the right side. With a swift movement, he slid it open and pointed inside: "This house belongs to one of my clients, whom has been framed for a murder and many other ugly things. He came to me, and now I keep this house as my office, to keep this scenery safe. It may be ugly, but I need help with these signs and language. Can you help me?"

The room was in disarray, and the dark blood was everywhere, although time had done its job for fading it out a bit. There were red lines of wool throughout the room - investigative magic that ZhenXi had learned on his own and with the help of King Lu, to protect the crime scene.

So ZhenXi planned to go with them? This made things even more complicated in Wang Rou's opinion. ZhenXi was more capable of fighting his own battles than Lu Cai, but two crown princes running off at the same time? With the same lowly companion? The court was going to be in an uproar for sure. If Wang Rou made it out of this with his head still firmly attached to his body, it'd be a miracle.

Wang Rou's mind was drawn elsewhere when ZhenXi opened the door to another room. Leaving his fuchen in the main room for now, Wang Rou picked up his sword and followed He had seen things that were much worse than this, but the idea that his "little brother" was working out of such a place was... shocking, to say the least.

"You can't read this?" he asked, glancing over the symbols painted in blood on the walls.

They seemed fairly clear to him. There were a few that left him at a loss, but for the most part he could understand the general idea. Because of this, he assumed it was some ancient language native to TianShi. After all, he had studied the history of this kingdom since he was a child. This included past ruling sects and their dialects dating back centuries.

But if this was an alphabet native to the region, Lu ZhenXi should also have studied it. So it wasn't from TianShi? Then how could Wang Rou read it? Any other dialects from the surrounding areas would also be known to the both of them, as they have had the same language studies growing up.

"What language is this?" Wang Rou inquired, struggling with the desire to run his fingers over the characters. They almost seemed to call out to him.

He had been researching and learning everything and anything possible, what he has managed to get ahold of. His own knowledge was too little, but he knew they were elven symbols, just ZhenXi's knowledge was still limited and he only knew the basics. If someone only knew, he had managed to build a sacred room underneath his own official living chambers at the imperial court, where resided the collection of all sorts of books, scrolls and research he has done over the past years. However, the workers who built this for him now live a good life, but they have lost all memories regarding this matter. Even if that place was one day destroyed, Little Lu had already memorized and remembered every single bit of the knowledge, this young prince just liked to have a place for himself, when back in the castle and home.

He observed Wang Rou curiously, making several conclusions in his mind about the connection between Gege Rou and the symbols. He nodded to himself simply, then casually noted: "As every matter about this case will remain between us, I can admit that I know of those symbols, but my knowledge in this specific language is limited. I am still learning, and I for now know only of the basics. It is hard to get hands on the information."

He turns away from his friend and goes to open one bottle of wine, pouring it into two clean cups, knowing that there is a possiblity that Rou won't drink with him, as per usual. He salutes the Gods and Goddesses and finishes the whole cup in a cool, yet elegant manner. ZhenXi doesn't look at his friend and older brother, when he spills another bomb: "It is the language of the place, where we have to go to. The language of Elven. The official language of Hidden Kingdom, YinHua," the boy lets the name of the kingdom roll over his lips as a mystery ready to be cracked open, letting the information to set in. From the corner of his eye, he was watching Wang Rou, intense, yet careful. He head his own suspicions, and he knew that he was close with all of those.

Lu ZhenXi just didn't know how close or right he has been all this time...

Wang Rou's eyes continued to roam over the words written on the walls. For the most part, he could read it, though he struggled with some symbols. Whatever this language was, he had learned it at some point.

He barely registered that ZhanXi had begun speaking again. A few symbols in particular had grabbed his attention, and his eyes narrowed slightly as he traced them over with his eyes. They didn't have the same kind of meaning as the others. These were different.

When ZhenXi finally admitted that this was the language of that infamous hidden kingdom of legend, a chill ran down Wang Rou's spine.

If this was the language of Elves, how was it possible he could read it? Trying to hide the trembling of his hand by gripping his sword tighter, kept his eyes averted away from his little brother.

"These are spells and hexes," he whispered, attempting and failing to keep his voice steady. "They taunt whoever dares to investigate, cursing them to never find answers. But this," he gestured with a shaky hand to the two symbols he had been staring at previously, "I think this is a name. It's not like the others."

Tilting his head to the right, he then walked over beside Rou, while still holding onto his little wine cup. "Oooh?" little detective mused, noticing the one that had been pointed out. The scene was affecting Rou, who always was very reserved and cold, and ZhenXi knew he had hit the mark.

"Can you read the name? It would be of a good help, Gege Rou," he looks seriously at the other male, then turns around to walk near the table and set the cup down, which still had a drop of wine in it. "Or at least tell me what the third and fifth letter are, I am still in the know of these." He didn't need to see Rou break down, and suddenly something dawned to him.

"Ah!" snapping his fingers, he turned and suddenly smiled mysteriously, asking: "If you have questions... any kind, feel free to ask them now. It may become a problem later on, as I have a feeling... the nearby future will become very, very, very... very busy."

He keeps that mysterious, yet rather crooked smile on his lips, almost making him look as if he has become a madman - which wouldn't be too far from the actual truth. At least he was known to be the cold, eccentric man in the court, who never let anyone close and whom always had some tricks up on his sleeve. He was thought to be evil, just like his father, but there were few whom trusted him as they had seen whom the Little Lu really was.

[font=candara] For Lu ZhenXi, the preparations had started, and the smile that was lingering on his lips turned into a more serious one, disappearing completely. Although for many, those little games of his may have looked wrong, he knew exactly what steps to take or what actions to perform, for his brothers to come along with him. He could easily go alone, as he had done so many times before - but this time it was different. He had to save two lives, and to get over the border of Hidden Kingdom, they needed Rou; and quite franly, Rou needed him and Cai.

"I think it is time for you to talk to King Lu," he simply mentioned, waiting for Rou to take action, but as he saw that there was no way he would let Rou leave his premises at that moment.

Moving swiftly and quickly on his feet, despite being probably a bit tipsy, ZhenXi murmured quietly: "You will hate me for this, dear friend." With this, the man pressed a certain point on Rou's neck to knock him out.

Catching Rou into his hands, he lifted his dear friend up and carried him over to a bed behind a separation wall, setting the young elf on the beddings. ZhenXi himself had spent many nights there himself, as being away from the royal chambers made him feel more safe than being in the presence of his father and ill-fitted moodswings.

It was surprising to see Prince Lu carry someone taller than him, as he often left the impression of being small and fragile, but it was complete opposite. It was the hidden power of his spirit within that offered a lot more strength for the boy, although he had quite impressive set of muscles himself.

Placing a blanket on Wang Rou, he picked up the sword and placed it beside the bed. This sword had come from Hidden Kingdom, just like his owner, and ZhenXi was hesitant to let it go from his grasp.

"You will wake up very angry. I am sorry, Gege, but I won't wait for you here. I will go and hunt down the man who created this mess here," smiling, he stood up and murmured: "I knew the name all along, I just needed for you to start unlocking the block on your mind."

And with those words, he turned around and disappeared into the shadows to look for that elven criminal, that had been hiding among the citizens of TianShi. There was no chance he was going to sleep that night.

Unknown to the events that had happened during the night, Lu Cai had been into one of his favorate brothels in the city. It was a bit more quiet and he could come and go through a secret door, and the workers didn't spill of his visits to anyone, whatever the prize offered. They were loyal to the Prince and Prince only. Weirdly enough, it was one of his own businesses after all, and with the little power he had, Cai managed to help at least some of the citizens.

He had been drinking, no surprise there, and walking home alone in the early hours of the morning, he was singing to himself, being in quite a weird mood: "Look at me, I grow out of the mud! You wanna fight and we will have a fight. Time will decide, but you know I survive!" He hated his life, he wanted to release all the power he had within himself, but he knew he couldn't. He had to hide, hide and wait to do his bidding.

"Look, the useless Prince has returned from his outing again," one of the maids whispered to another, as they were on their way to prepare the breakfeast. "He is no use for anything else, that is true. I wouldn't mind sleeping with him, though. I hear that Miu Miu managed to do so, but when I asked, she didn't say anything."

Cai ignored them. These rumors were typical in the court, and whispers were something that always followed his trail. Gossip was as if a shadow behind him, and Cai often used it for his own benefit. He played stupid, yet he was none.

Managing to reach at his chambers, he was still singing, and swaying on his drunken feet, when he saw his precious Rou Rou. "ROU ROU!" He yelled with excitement and smiled big, getting closer to his friend. "You are EXACTLY the person I am in a need of right now!"

"Pffff!" drunken Prince stated, hitting the air with his left hand, "Me?" he pointed at his own chest, "Afraid of my own father?" Cai laughed, snorting. "Not." He got closer to Rou, grabbing his arm into his and then nodded towards the chambers. "You are coming with me, silly boy. I believe it is your duty to watch over me, so I won't sneak out again, right?"

Cai noticed his friend and companion to be out of himself, but he didn't let it to be known. Acting a bit more drunk that he actually was, he dragged Rou into his chambers and helped the boy to sit on the edge of his bed. "Now that there is only you and me...," he murmured and turned, closing the doors. "I want to do something that I have always wanted to do, Wang Rou."

He took a deep breath, and let it out, then did the same thing quickly two more times. He quickly turned around and sat in front of his friend. Leaning over, he pressed his lips against Rou's, and closed his eyes. Most likely, Cai wouldn't even remember the moment, but he just wanted to kiss him so bad.
