The Pokemon Adventure

The Pokemon Adventure

0 INK

A whole village turned into Pokemon, and now there has to be a way to turn them back...but how?

1,102 readers have visited The Pokemon Adventure since Crystal Flamedance created it.

Introduction

She had been training her Pokémon for a while, but never saw much point in leaving her little village. She could train well enough without travelling, seeing as there were a few strong trainers that went through. The trainers that did come through, though, were few and far between. There were many more wild Pokémon than trainers that pass through, and she used both those Pokémon and trainers to train her own Pokémon.

She had thought, for a while, that she might leave to train elsewhere, but she had no real will to leave. One day, she came across an odd book. She looked through it, and decided she would find a quieter place to translate it. After all, it wasn’t exactly easy to read when people kept walking by, greeting everyone else, let alone translate. One of the few things she wasn’t fond of in these small little villages; everyone knew each other, and so every took the time to greet each other. Was there no sense of personal space or alone time here? Others probably enjoyed it; she just found it to be suffocating.

So she went to her own home, into her own room, where no one was going to bother her until it was time to get up. It was late, and normally she would be in bed. But she wanted to finish the one page before she fell asleep; otherwise, she might lose her place. She fell asleep almost as she read the last bit, unaware of the consequence of reading such a strange book.

She wasn’t herself when she woke up; that much was certain. She could no long walk on two. Confused, she wandered around, crawling on all fours. It wasn’t until she found her way into the bathroom, and climbed up enough to see into the mirror. She nearly fell over in surprise; she didn’t see her usual self in the mirror. Instead, she found the face of a Pokémon, of a Glaceon, looking back at her. She wandered around the house, and couldn’t find anyone else there. Well…she did find her older brother, but that meant little; he had managed to become a Houndour, much to her surprise. But she couldn’t stay there. Instead, she wandered out, looking for the rest of the villagers. But, she quickly found, their small little village was no longer inhabited by humans; everyone had become a Pokémon.

She quickly went back home, looking for the book in her room. However, she found that it was no longer there; it had vanished. But where could it have possibly gone? She had to find a way to return herself and all the villagers back into humans, but there was no way she’d be able to find her way alone. She needed to learn to use her powers as a Pokémon if she was going to survive long enough to find the book. And then, she needed to know her way around, and to be able to ask the villagers and other Pokémon if they knew anything. But she couldn’t do it on her own, she knew. So now she has set out to look for help, and for information.

Character Skeleton:
Name:
Nickname (if any):
Age:
Description (if human turned Pokémon, both appearance as human and Pokémon [pictures optional, but written description still required]):
Pokémon Species (if a wild Pokémon or villager):
Personality:
Equipment (note that Pokémon should only be able to carry very little, due to lack of packs/bags; for wild born Pokemon, make a list of known attacks):
History (if trainer not turned Pokémon, put your team here, in addition to history):

You can be one of the villagers that has been turned into a Pokémon, but if you do, you have to learn to use your attacks and powers from other Pokémon who know what they’re doing. You can be a wild-born Pokémon, and all you know of the book going missing, if you know anything, is that there was a shadow from some large flying-type Pokémon near the house, and nothing of the book itself. You can be a trainer that passed through after the spell took effect, and so you won’t turn into a Pokémon, but you will be unable to catch any humans that were turned into Pokémon, though those will be very obviously unusual. Whether or not you try to understand what these tell you is up to you…though you may be able to help them out.

Toggle Rules

-No legendaries. This includes: Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, Mew, Mewtwo, Suicune, Entei, Raikou, Ho-oh, Lugia, Celebi, Groudon, Kyogre, Latios, Latias, Registeel, Regice, Regirock, Regigigas, Rayquaza, Jirachi, Deoxys, Phione, Manaphy, Giratina, Dialga, Palkia, Uxie, Mesprit, Azelf, Darkrai, Shaymen, Arceus, Reshiram, Zekrom (Yes, I am allowing the fifth generation of Pokémon, but know that I’m still unfamiliar with that generation, so I don’t know about all the legendaries, or anything. I can look up individual Pokémon, to find the appropriate stats and possible attacks, but I don’t know much about those particular Pokémon.)

-No godmodding.

-You may have multiple characters, as long as you can keep up with those characters.

-If you have any ideas for side-plots, please run them by me before you put them in the rp. I don’t need too many distractions getting in the way and slowing the main plot too much. I support the side-plots, as long as they are reasonable.

-If you are a Pokémon, you may know more than four attacks, provide they are attacks the Pokémon can use normally; no TM or HM moves, and nothing that is taught by humans.

-If you have any complaints, don’t take it out on each other’s characters; talk about it in OOC, or PM each other, or me.

-The village that was affected was a small one, so not too many people-turned-Pokémon here; more wild Pokémon, please, than villagers.

-People that have been turned into Pokémon cannot be caught by Pokeballs, and cannot be understood by any other humans that pass by; verbally, anyway. If those turned into Pokémon wish to contact the travelers passing by, they must find another way.

-Romance is encouraged, if you can find a way to put that in, but anything explicit or inappropriate should be taken elsewhere; not everyone wants to read that stuff, you know.

-Shinies are allowed…to a certain extent. I don’t want a lot of them, and would rather there be a lot more normal Pokémon than shiny ones.

-Umm…I can’t think of much else. If there are any questions, then I may end up updating the answers here, if I see it as necessary. That said, if you have any questions, feel free to ask through either OOC or Pm.

"Yeah, not many ice-types have the need to climb," Sarin replied before jumping up nimbly the next too branches. Right there was a nice place to sit/lay and have a good view of the village entrance without being spotted. "Surly you can get here?"

Jade shook his head, noticing some pokemon cries that came from not far away, but more towards where Ivinn was, he sighed and quietly walked towards a group of trees, feeling around with his feet and listening to the pokemon talk.

"Yeah, not many ice-types have the need to climb," a voice called out from above Jade and continued, not noticing him from the bushes where he had chose to stay for now, "Surely you can get here?"

"Why would an ice-type need to get into a tree?" Jade walked out of the bushes and asked quietly, and made to look around, not wanting to let the others see he was blind...

At this Flare hesitated. He wasn't one for hanging around in a certain place for an extended period of time. Besides, he still wanted to get to that mountain to check out what all the fuss was over that book. Maybe he could hold it for ransom and get something like...a fire stone. The would be nice. Then again, if he got on this Riolu's good side he could get his help watching those strange Pokemon in the village, two sets of eyes are better than one. Weighing his options, Flare finally consented and shook paws. "Good, I could always use some lessons from you in how to run away from a fight." Flare smirked, retrieving his paw.

Crystal nodded. "Right...should be able to do that much..." she replied, jumping up another branch, and coming close to losing her balance in the process. She paused long enough to regain her balance, then looked up to the next branch. She paused, though, looking down when she heard a voice she hadn't heard before. She examined the Sceptile carefully, watching him glance around. Either he couldn't or wouldn't focus on anything in particular. She decided she could use the moment to keep her balance and rest, getting herself ready to jump to the next branch.

"Well, normally I wouldn't..." Wild Sceptile were almost non-existent near the village, so she figured this had to belong to a trainer, or was a human turned into a Pokemon. But she didn't recognize te voice, so the first had to be it. That being the case, she wasn't too sure she should say she was keeping an eye out on a trainer. "But I need to keep track of others coming through the village. We don't want trouble coming through, you know." She paused, wanting to sit down, but worried she might make herself fall, and she didn't want to do that. ""Why would a Sceptile be on the ground, anyway? Don't they normally prefer the trees?" she asked, if only to take the attention away from herself.

Jade shook his head, "Well, normally I actually prefer rooftops and spreading leaves around industrial cities, but, here I am. I travel with a girl if you're wondering. If I was wild, I'd probably leave you alone." He shrugged and turned towards where Crystal's voice came from, "Anyways, do you need any help?" he tilted his head to the side, in a gesture of questioning and nodded towards the tree,

"Though I'm sure I can't see it, I could probably get you up there faster than the rate you're going right now." he nodded again...

"Come on, I need your ember." Riley said pulling the fire type back to the home. "Can you super heat these cables?" Riley asked holding out a pair of steel cables. He gave a little smile and pulled on the cables so hard that they began to heat and stretch. "Come on give me some fire." He strained with a vain pulsing in his head.

Flare consented, feeling the fire well up within him. He used to have to be angry when he first learned to use fire, as moves are often times tied to emotions, but he eventually learned to use fire without altering his emotions. Using a small ember, he watched as the cables glowed bright red, the metal beginning to lose its shape. Must be a metal with a low melting point, Flare thought, it really didn't take much to warp. "What exactly was the point of that? I don't see a house yet." Flare noted, finished.

"Cool thanks. Just watch." Riley said putting the metal blocks in place so they would make a barrel sized cylinder and tied the molten wires through the holes in the middle of the blocks which tied them together. "Now just tie it to the frame with the melted metal and then let it cool." Riley laughed putting his newly aquired metal block under the cylinder and smeared the metal on both objects to mold them together.

Crystal paused, watching the Sceptile. He couldn't see? ...A blind Pokemon...she had never seen that one before. But it mattered little; he could still probably get around. "I'm sure you could get up here faster than I could. But I need to keep watch...a girl, you said? ...Like, a trainer?" she asked, wondering if this was the same trainer that had owned the Chatot. She couldn't be sure; not without any more information than she had been given. "...If we need any help at all, it's to get a book. All I know is that the book has gone missing, and I really do need it back. I fogure it's a bird Pokemon; nothing else could have gotten it from where I had put it..."

Jade nodded, "Her name's Ivinn, and she is a trainer, though there is the slight chance that she might jump, scream, and throw a pokeball at you, she's quite nice." He shrugged again, "But a book you say? I guess she could look if she understood you all, I'm sure Cancoon could help with that. So, shall I get her over here?" Jade nodded and took a step, ready to start hopping from roof to roof to get Ivinn...

Crystal nodded, then stopped, realizing the Pokemon couldn't see it "That might help out a bit..." she said, watching the Sceptile. "...Though I'm quite sure it was a Pokemon that took it, rather than any other humab being...she might still be able to help...long as she doesn't start trying to catch us..." She'd just have to avoid the pokeballs, since she still didn't know whether or not she could be caught by another trainer. She sighed to herself. "We could use all the help we can get. That would help out, at least a little bit," she finally decided.

"All right. I hope that she won't try to use her pokeball." Jade shrugged, right before bounding off towards where Ivinn was.

--

"Oh hey, there's Jade now. Hi! Find anyone?" Ivinn smiled and waved to the nearing Sceptile, he nodded and started to point in the direction that he had come from. Ivinn grinned, "All right! Civilization, here we come!" she stretched before running between houses towards the trees...

Rolling her eyes, Sarin jumps down after Crystal. "I'm coming too! Don't forget me!" Following them, Sarin halts and hides in the treetops when they approach the female trainer. It was always her little idea of a joke, jumping on their heads then running off if they use a Pokeball. In a jumping position, Sarin was ready for the female trainer to walk underneath the branch she was on.

Crystal nodded to herself as the Sceptile took off, then hopped back down. Chances were, they wouldn't need to keep a lookout when the trainer was going to come looking for them. She looked up as the Eevee put herself in a jumping position, then shook her head, sitting to watch the trainer approach. She seemed to be enjoying herself. She stood up as the trainer came into her sight, watching her carefully, ready to move should she pull out a pokeball. She did her best to keep herself calm, and gave the trainer a slight nod as she started to come closer, worried that the trainer wouldn't understand her speaking without that Cancoon the Sceptile had been talking about.

A Glaceon? "Jade, I was expecting... People. Like, human people, sorry if that wasn't what you were thinking." Ivinn groaned and took a step back from the Glaceon. She looked around quietly, "Well, at least it's an ice-type." She mumbled mostly to herself, and swiftly chucked her only masterball towards Crystal...

"No!" Jade called out as he heard the masterball hit Crystal...

Crystal's eyes widened as the trainer threw a masterball at her. To use such a hard-to-find pokeball...on a simple ice type? Clearly she jumped a bit at things like this. She closed her eyes, knowing she couldn't very well move fast enough to dodge it. She felt the masterball hit her, and waited for...whatever happened when a Pokemon was caught. But, after a few seconds of waiting, she opened her eyes, having expected something to happen already. She looked down at the masterball; it had just bounced off of her, as if she had already had a trainer herself. She hadn't, of course, but perhaps, since she was a trainer herself, that counted for something? Or maybe humans just couldn't be caught, Pokemon or not. She quietly breathed a sigh of relief. She shook her head, looking back up at the trainer. Where was this...Cancoon the Sceptile had talked about? She tilted her head to one side. "Can't you help us instead of trying to catch us?" she asked, not really caring that the trainer couldn't properly understand her.

Sora ran outside when he heard the Sceptile shout 'No!', as he ran towards Crys to help her he noticed that the Pokeball had just bounced off of her, "Well, that was 'stremely disappointing, n-not cause you didn't get caught, j'st that they got a little worked up, and I got a lot worked up, but I'm glad your Okay."

"Huh. Interrsting. Cancoon?" Ivinn picked up her only pokeball, the Masterball, and tucked it into her pocket, "Can you... Translate a bit?"

"Betcha! Betcha!" Cancoon chirped and hopped off of Ivinn's shoulder, "So Sweets, long time no see!" He nodded and ruffled his feathers again, "Seems you are un-catch-able~" He sang as he hopped around, but paused and let out a small chirp, "So, a book right?" He chirped again, looking at Ivinn and Crystal quietly, then looking at Sora,

"Cancoon?" Ivinn repeated, inspecting the masterball from her pocket, "This is why I needed a pokemart." She sighed, "Well, at least I still have this." She shrugged and sat down..

Crystal looked up as Sora came running out, and tilted her head to one side curiously. She hid her own smile...well, provided it would be considered a smile in this form. "If I didn't know any better, it'd look like you just wanted to play a hero for a moment there." She shook her head, turning her attention to Cancoon, the Chatot she had seen earlier, it seemed. "Yes, a book...it had a black cover with some kind of golden symbol on the cover. There was no title on the cover itself." She wasn't sure how well a Chatot would be able to translate, seeing as the one she had run across before, one that had belonged to a different trainer, had seemed a little awkward speaking, apparently unale to put all the words together into a sentence. But, she figured, the more information she was able to give the trainer, the better she would be able to help out.

"Huh. How I hate the human language." Cancoon wailed pitifully before puzzling out a few words...

"Chaaaaaatot -- Book!" Cancoon dotted the words with chirps and turned to Crystal, nodding to her, "Human!" he chirped again, and turned his head to the side, "Golden symbol... Black cover?" He frowned, quickly reverting to his normal language, "Soory, whenever I attempt to speak in a human's language, it ends up all weird, like a child." He shook his head sadly...

Sarin got worried when she saw the Masterball, but then that worry vanished. No trainer would be stupid enough to use such a powerful ball on a simple Eevee. But Sarin decided that there was no point now trying to playfully 'attack' the human, so she simply jumps down next to Crystal. "Uh," she muttered, "this will be such a drag. I wish humans would take the time to learn Pokemon. Is that so much to ask of them?"

Crystal glanced at Sarin, then away to grimace. "...Humans just don't think about learning Pokemon; as far as most humans are concerned, learning Pokemon is absolutely impossible, so they aren't inclined to try, really." She looked back up at the Chatot, watching him attempt to translate, and nodded slightly. "I'm sorry...I probably could have made it a little easier..." she mumbled, looking to the ground, then back to the trainer, to see just how muchshe had understood. "I understand; it must be hard to speak human when you're so used to Pokemon. It isn't your fault." 'Blame the humans, who don't bother trying,' she thought, then shook her head and looked back at the trainer.

"A book. Black with golden symbols? Well, frankly, yes, I am a human, thanks for telling the Glaceon, Cancoon. But, uh, what does a book have to do with this?" Ivinn frowned, hopefully she knew how to translate most of what Cancoon can say, but she could only understand so much. She shook her head, and turned to Crystal, ignoring the chatot's beak hitting her head softly, as if scolding, "Uh. Sorry about that ball earlier."

Crystal silently gritted her teeth, irritated. Was she this ignorant as a human? No...ignorant wasn't the right word; she was trying to understand, and it might make sense from what the Chatot was saying. She shook her head, trying to think of something she could do; she had to tell the human she was human, too...but how, when she didn't understand the Chatot completely? She looked down, and tilted her head to one side. She looked up at the trainer, then back at the dirt, working to move her paw the way she wanted to. When she was done, she had made a crude copy of the symbol on the cover of the book; a cricle with a star etched into the center, each of the points touching the circle. She looked back up at the trainer, then to Cancoon. "Apparently that didn't work too well; we'll work on that part later. This is the symbol that was on the book; think she can understand that much?"

Ivinn rubbed her neck, trying to ignore the screeching voice of Cancoon in her ear, "Symbol! Golden symbol!" He hopped off and pecked the ground near the drawing that Crystal had made,

"Well." Ivinn crouched down next to Cancoon, "So that's what I'm supposed to look for? On a black book? For... That Glaceon? All right then. I don't know why, but as long as it's something to do." Ivinn sighed as she slowly stood up, What have I gotten myself into? Ivinn shook her head as she looked around, "Nothing's going to attack me, right?"

Re: The Pokemon Adventure

Wow! I'm so sorry I fell off the map! T_T If there is anyway, I think we should rekindle this RP! I had fun with this and the concept was awesome! I spent all morning reading everything.

Re: [OOC] The Pokemon Adventure

...I hate it when people disappear. What happened to Radical, and darkune, and William? It doesn't look like Sora's posted in a while, either...

Re: [OOC] The Pokemon Adventure

All of her Pokemon were left in her pokeballs in her room, but she hides them away when she's not using them, only bringing them out for battles and food and stuff like that. They're locked up in her room, but she can't get to them in her current form. They're there, just kinda...stuck right now until either she can get another trainer to get them out for her, or she turns human again to let them out.

Re: [OOC] The Pokemon Adventure

Uh, I was wondering, if Crystal was a trainer, what happened to her pokemon?

Re: [OOC] The Pokemon Adventure

I'm sorry it's taking me so long to post at times...I keep waiting to see if anyone else will post, is all. I'm still paying attention and everything.

Oh, and that's fine, Radical. At least you're trying to keep up with the rp.

So so so sorry about being gone guys!!! I should be able to post in about two days if not sooner! My laptop broke and I am currently on my phone. Yay technology! ^_^ See you guys soon!

Re: [OOC] The Pokemon Adventure

Well...the fact is, I barely noticed. I had a little trouble with....what was it? Boltik, or whatever? But I put those pieces together fast enough. It's just like reading everything else to me...I don't understand Scottish, really...just...used to reading different accents.

Re: [OOC] The Pokemon Adventure

Hey Crystal, a question that has been niggling at me for a while now is, how the hell can you understand Scottish?

Re: [OOC] The Pokemon Adventure

Aw, poor Jade, staring at a tree.
I should move him to see Crystal, Sora, and Sarin somewhere nearby. > . >

Edit:

Er, well not "see" but just meet?

Re: [OOC] The Pokemon Adventure

hey I don't know if anyone would care to know but I have an idea of what I want the house that Riley is building http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v444/ ... nished.jpg

Re: [OOC] The Pokemon Adventure

Yes, I do...but I kinda need to stay in character. She's a little...oblivious. XD

Edit: Lol...he's complaining because he likes Crys...and was planning on confessing the day they turned into Pokemon...and now he doesn't think he can. That make sense?

Re: [OOC] The Pokemon Adventure

Gibberish disguised as speech, the Scottish way to speak

Re: [OOC] The Pokemon Adventure

I probably would If I knew what they were saying.

Re: [OOC] The Pokemon Adventure

Anyone else feel a little sorry for Sora other than me ?

Re: [OOC] The Pokemon Adventure

Well, the first one...that was a little ways away. And, with the Riolu walking down the streets, we don't know where he is, because there wasn't really anything said about a construction site near the village. I read them....but interaction with that post is a little...hard, I suppose. because I wasn't sure whether or not you were approaching the group, or even if you were in the same village.

Re: [OOC] The Pokemon Adventure

For the first post, Riley was kinda alone 'cept for the construction site. :T

And Ivinn''s kinda, like, somewhere off in the wilderness or something, so I couldn't do anything, LOL.
Sorry. > . >

Re: [OOC] The Pokemon Adventure

Ok I am not trying to complain, but both of my posts were completely ignored.

Re: [OOC] The Pokemon Adventure

Lol...it was interesting enough to read it. XD Already jumped straight to wanting to catch Pokemon; so funny. :P

Re: [OOC] The Pokemon Adventure

... I would like to say... (Totally not trying to sound conceded!!) I liked writing that last part of my post ^_^ Like Emilee doesn't realize the bigger problem there xP I silly... Sorry ^_^;;

Re: [OOC] The Pokemon Adventure

Thank you so much!! *Runs to make profile now!* ^_^
