Bronzor floated complacently. Drake turned to Bronzor and wondered about it. Bronzor seemed to be very different from most organisms. That was one of the reasons why he was out here: he wanted to understand Pokemon. Bronzor looked at him interestedly. Drake wondered... Could Bronzor understand his thoughts? It wasn't too farfetched, considering how Bronzor was a Psychic type. Bronzor made an up-down motion, as if nodding. Amazing! Drake thought. Bronzor can read my mind! Maybe I can ask him some yes-or-no questions about himself! Bronzor moved up and down, slowly. He took that to mean he could ask some things, but not too much. Do you think I'll make a competent trainer for you? Drake thought at Bronzor. Bronzor moved up and down. It was reassuring that his Pokemon believed in him. Let's go now, Drake thought at Bronzor. Bronzor moved up and down. Drake looked at the pair. The girl and wore a blue shirt with yellow pants. She seemed to be the younger of the two. The boy was wore a green sweater-vest with a long-sleeved blue shirt under it with green pants. Both of them seemed tall, thin, and lanky. As he examined them further, he saw that the water Pokemon next to the girl was a Spheal and the one next to the boy was a Lotad. They seemed to be having a rock-skipping contest. Drake was impressed. Those were both good Pokemon, and they likely knew a thing or two about Water Pokemon and where to find some good ones. He walked closer to them and said "Hello" to them.

(I'm not sure if we should do this yet, but NUMBER 7!)

((That's fine. I intended for the siblings to be just inside Viridian City, but this is okay as well.))

[Drake Argentius] As Drake approached the pair, neither the boy nor the girl noticed him at first. The Spheal by the girl's side, however, did and pointed him out with strange barking noises to the Lotad. The girl, mistaking her Pokemon's communication to be referring to her last skip, which had been rather poor. "Shuttup, Spheal, my wrist slipped," she told her Pokemon good-naturedly.

"Yeah, well..." the boy said, "your wrist slips quite frequently."

Just then, Drake greeted them aloud. Both turned, smiling, to the brown-haired boy. "Hello," said the boy. "I'm Nicholas, and this is my sister Ellen. We live just inside the city. Have we met you somewhere? You seem familiar."

Drake was taken back to his childhood. "Yes, we have met," Drake said. He remembered when he was 5, Ellen and Nicholas Burgatz had lived next to his house. The Burgatzs moved, however, because their grandparents on their mothers' died in an accident on a ship, and had left their larger house to their mother. They decided to sell their house and move there. He remembered talking to them about Pokemon when he was little. The two of them were second cousins once removed of Misty, Cerulean City's gym leader, and the family had a history of use of Water Pokemon. "We used to play together back before you two moved out to the edge of Viridian," Drake told them, "I see that you two have Pokemon now. Spheal and Lotad... Those are good Pokemon. This is Bronzor, he's mine. I just got him today." Bronzor hovered in front of Drake and examined the two of them, and then looked down at the Pokemon. Bronzor circled Spheal, then Lotad, and made a figure-eight pattern around them. Drake wasn't sure what this meant. "So," Drake began, "Do you know where I could find Water Pokemon as good as these fine specimens of the type?" Drake asked them, hoping he wasn't imposing.

(4 is an unlucky number in China. Did you know that?)

[Drake Argentius] Nicholas pointed his finger to the sky in remembrance. "Oh, yes, I remember you now. You always were asking about Misty." He chuckled at the Bronzor's midair pattern. "That means that your Pokemon likes our Pokemon."

Ellen added, "Yeah, that's a good sign. Bronzor are very intuitive. If they trust someone, then anyone can trust them."

Spheal barked again, and Ellen looked down at it with a frown. Nicholas ignored his sister's gesture and continued, "Water Pokemon?" He thought for a minute. "Well, since we were young, Ellen and myself have become fishermen of sorts. She knows intuitively where to find good water Pokemon, and I'm an expert angler."

Ellen smiled and nodded, looking up from her conversation with Spheal. "Yes, he is. We're actually leaving tomorrow to go on a fishing tour. First we'll travel to Olivine City by a speedy ferry, then we'll do a bit of exploring of the Orange Isles. Or we may just skip that and head straight on over to Hoenn, where there are tons of deep-sea fishing areas. Do you want to come?"

Nicholas pointed out, "If you come with us, then you'll be able to see more than just water Pokemon. You'd be free to catch many different types of Pokemon while we're moving between fishing spots."

((No I didn't. Mostly because it's a lucky number in this post.))

Drake's face lit up. This was quite an opportunity. The Orange Islands and Hoenn held much potential for Pokemon, and it would be nice to get to know each other again. Learning more about Bronzor was nice, obviously Bronzor enjoyed being around them. Certainly there could be no drawbacks to setting out with them. He just wanted to make sure. Bronzor, do you want to go to the Orange Islands or Hoenn with them? Drake thought. Bronzor's reaction was delayed because it was distracted, but it moved up and down. Drake was glad for this opportunity. This was turning out far better than he had envisioned. Maybe, just maybe, he could find some good Pokemon to train there! "I'll go!" Drake told them, excited. He seemed to be gaining momentum faster that he had expected, this was certainly a good thing. He just hoped he wouldn't go too fast and crash into a tree. "Orange Isles or Hoenn would be a really cool trip."

((I think I'll take a number 2!))

(A bit shorter than before, but I'm still satisfied with it, I guess)

[Drake Argentius] The two siblings seemed very happy by Drake's decision to join them. Nicholas, adopting his intelligent stupor, said "All right then. We're going to head to Pallet Town today, since we want to get this thing on the road. We'll sleep there and set out for Cinnabar Island to catch the ferry in the morning."

Ellen added, "With my Pokemon, it doesn't take a long time to get to Cinnabar Island. If we get up early tomorrow, we could be there by midday... which is plenty of time to explore the island. It's such a nice place." The Spheal, which seemed excited by the prospect of more travel compainions, jumped up and down a few times. "The ferry leaves at 6:00PM. So we don't want to miss it. But that shouldn't be a problem."

Nicholas, who had been looking at his watch, said, "It's just after four. Do you think that you can be ready to leave with everything that you'll need in an hour? If not, we'll just sleep here and head out really early in the morning."

Drake considered a bit. Could he be ready in time? He had the things that he really needed, at least in his opinion. Do you think I'm ready, Bronzor? Drake thought/asked. Bronzor hesitated a moment, as if in thought, and slowly tilted up and down. He would take that to be a 'Yes', since it was an up/down motion instead of a lateral one. He decided that they might as well try to go, there wasn't much he could lose at this point. "Sure, I think I'll be ready in an hour," Drake told the two. He was glad he had met them, this was turning out far better than he had predicted. He ran back to his mom and told her the news. "That's excellent, Drake!" she told him, "I remember visiting the Orange Islands and Hoenn's waters. Both were excellent places." She gave him a map of the (Poke)world and a cell phone. They exchanged a hug, and goodbyes. Drake walked back to the two and told them that he was ready.

((8 is a lucky number in China! Did you know that??))

(Hmm... This one is also shorter. Perhaps as I get more involved the legnth of my posts go down? I must learn of the trend!)
