HAVE OR HAVE NOTS?
Amelia Arnault is the granddaughter of french billionaire Bernard Arnault. Her family is the definition of an 'old money' family. Her great-father Jean Leon Arnault was a successful man with access to means and money. He owned and operated a successful construction business. After her grandfather Bernard joined the company after graduating with a degree in engineering he convinced his father to liquidate the construction division of the company for 40 million French francs, and to change the focus of the company to real estate. Named director of company development in 1974, he became the CEO three years later. In 1979, he succeeded his father as president of the company. Since than he has taken over many luxury brands, making him a billionaire in the process. A standing example to the story of taking risks and turning the tables around, Bernard has made his family one of the wealthiest in the world.

"I don't want to get to the end of my life and find that I lived the width of it as well." – Diane Ackerman

Luxury goods tycoon Bernard Arnault oversees an empire of 60 brands including Dom Perignon, Bulgari, Louis Vuitton, Fendi and Sephora, all under the umbrella of LVMH, where he has been CEO since 1989. He is considered one of the world's ultimate taste-makers, a job he takes seriously. "I see myself as an ambassador of French heritage and French culture," he once told Forbes. Arnault meets with each member of his inner circle at least once a week, going over performance figures and plotting strategy. It was Arnault who suggested to Louis Vuitton chief Yves Carcelle that Vuitton hire Mark Jacobs in 1997 and who chose Galliano for Dior, moving him from Givenchy in 1996. Less hands-on with the beverage group than he is with the fashion and retail side of the business, Arnault nevertheless tracks the progress of all the Moët-Hennessy brands, which include wineries in California, Australia and New Zealand. Arnault says he wants all his managers to take charge of their divisions as though they were family enterprises.

Though publicly traded, $35 billion (sales) LVMH has long been a family affair. Arnault got his start in luxury in 1984 when he paid $15 million to buy a business that included Christian Dior (his family owned a successful construction company at the time). Patrimony has deep roots. Arnault was raised to go into the family business, a construction company called Ferret-Savinel in the northern industrial city of Roubaix. At age 7 he visited building sites with his grandfather, learning the importance of hard work and giving Arnault “the flavor of entrepreneurship.” After earning an engineering degree at Paris’ prestigious Ecole Polytechnique in 1971, he joined his father, taking charge of the company at age 25. In the early 1980s he spent three years in the U.S. trying to establish a branch of the family business as a developer of Florida real estate. The venture didn’t work out, but Delphine and Antoine learned flawless English. Arnault brought home an aggressively American approach to taking over and running businesses. It has made him a terrifying competitor.

Today his two older children, Delphine and Antoine, are intimately involved in expanding his vision. Antoine chairs high-end Italian knits company Loro Piana and runs shoemaker Berluti. Delphine serves as executive vice president at Louis Vuitton, LVMH's biggest and most profitable brand. The vast bulk of the family fortune is tied up in Christian Dior stock, through which Arnault holds the controlling interest in LVMH. Ownership certainly applies to kinship. “Our goal for the group is to remain a family company,” Arnault declares. Though Delphine and Antoine say they were never pressured to work for their father, they felt included in the business from an early age. When Arnault was wrestling for control of LVMH in 1989, Antoine, then 12, remembers, “He was always explaining to me what was going on.” After he took over the group Arnault spent Saturday mornings in Paris, taking his son and daughter to visit LVMH-owned shops.

“He always said, ‘If you want to work with me, you have to work harder than the others and do well in school,’” recalls Antoine. After earning his M.B.A. at Insead, Antoine spent two years launching, then selling, an Internet venture and toiled for three months as a sales assistant at the huge Vuitton store on the Champs Elysées selling handbags, before taking a management post responsible for 13 stores outside Paris. Delphine also labored in the LVMH retail trenches, as a perfume salesgirl at the Paris Dior boutique. She studied at the London School of Economics and worked at McKinsey before joining her father’s company in 2000.

Bernard has billions in LVMH directly and in supermarket chain Carrefour. An art patron and collector, he opened the $135 million Frank Gehry-designed Foundation Louis Vuitton museum in Paris' Bois de Boulogne in October 2014, which displays selections from LVMH's vast trove of contemporary art and his own personal art holdings, in addition to other exhibitions. Arnault has two other children from his second marriage, in 1991, to Hélène Mercier, a French-Canadian pianist: Alexandre, 23, and Frédéric, 20. These days Arnault does his Saturday morning retail tour with Alexandre, who has already expressed interest in joining LVMH.

In comparison to the lives of the Arnaults, Natalia Vodianova's upbringing was on the polar opposite side of the spectrum. Rags to riches? A modern-day Cinderella? When people discuss Natalia Vodianova, these phrases get thrown around a lot. It is true that Natalia had a poor upbringing, but as she puts it, “I know some people would have wanted to kill themselves, but I thought my childhood was happy. My mother worked nearly 24 hours a day, and I realize things were difficult, but I managed to find a lot of light there. I had this weird knowledge that, one day, things would be good.” Born in Gorky (now Nizhny Novgorod) in February 1982, Natalia grew up in a poor district of the city with her mother and two half-sisters, one of whom has cerebral palsy. From the age of 11, Natalia helped her mother sell fruit on the street, and later set up her own fruit stand with a friend to help keep her family out of poverty.

Natalia explains, “Finding out I was pretty was a very nice realization.” At age 15, she enrolled in a modeling academy, where she was told she needed to learn English to succeed. Incredibly, she mastered the language in just three months. At age 17, Natalia moved to Paris and signed with Viva Model Management Paris, where she was picked out of the crowd at a runway show by a photographer. Natalia has since accomplished a monumental amount of success as a supermodel. She has walked in hundreds of shows for the world’s top designers’ ready-to-wear and couture collections, and has appeared in editorial spreads in fashion magazines throughout the world. Her campaigns have included Calvin Klein, Calvin Klein’s Euphoria Blossom fragrance, Choice by Calvin Klein Underwear, Roberto Cavalli, Louis Vuitton, L’Oréal, David Yurman, Marc Jacobs, Pepe Jeans, Diane von Fürstenberg, Chanel, Giorgio Armani, Gucci, Moschino, and Philosophy di Alberta Ferretti.

She is a founder and the president of the Naked Heart Foundation, a philanthropy that strives to provide every child living in urban Russia with a safe and inspiring environment in which to play. She started the organization, she says, because “when Amelia was younger, we used to live next to a playground. It is so lovely to take your child to play and see them get exhausted, in a happy way, and then go to sleep. Yet when I took Amelia back to Russia where my friends and cousins have children, there is not one place to go. So I started to dream of playgrounds.” Natalia says about her life, “I have done it. I have everything I want. I have made enough money to secure my family, and that is all I care about.”

OVERALL APPEARANCE
Twenty-one year old French model Amelia Arnault is arguably one of the most beautiful women in the world and it is easy to see why. Her naturally pretty face is almost childlike, with sultry, captivating eyes and a diamond shape. "My mum always told me to wash my face twice a day with cold water - it helps tighten up your pores. And my grandmother said to drink a glass of milk every day so my skin doesn't look grey or dull." These passed down beauty tips from the most important women in her life are the secret behind her flawless skin and coveted glow - that makes her flawless face is the object of envy. Whether you choose to believe it or not Amelia's beauty secrets are clearly effective, as the model’s skin is always a brilliant shade of dewy ivory — a perfect backdrop for her piercing-blue eyes!

Amelia's silky-smooth light chestnut brown locks are shiny and full of luster. Stopping mere inches past her bust Amelia's hair is her pride and joy. In the industry that she works in her hair goes through a lot - sometimes she'll have her hair done eight or more times a day—which can lead to a lot of wear and tear. Because of this reason Amelia takes her hair care very seriously. When it comes to work-related events and jobs Amelia hair is always subject to change as that's just part of the job. However, when it comes to her everyday life Amelia tends to keep her hairstyles as simple as possible.

It takes much more than just a pretty face and a slim figure to make it as a mainstream model. You need to have the total package, a mix of genetics and personality, in order to thrive in the modeling industry. “I love pilates, I do it three or four times a week. I love food so much that I’d rather workout more and eat what I want. It’s tricky when I’m traveling but I just follow YouTube tutorials.” There is a stigma associated with the modeling world in which everyone thinks that all models are anorexic twigs that eat nothing and weigh like eighty-nine pounds which is not Amelia. She likes ... no she LOVES food and she will workout as much as she has to in order to maintain the physique that she has come to adore.

Amelia is the type of person her that cares more about feeling healthy than looking skinny. She doesn't need anyone to feed her compliments in order for her to feel good about herself or for her to feel pretty. Amelia knows that she is a beautiful woman and she doesn't need anyone to boost her confidence because her self-esteem is already sky-high as it is. Amelia has been around the fashion world her entire life and she definitely has a liking for the high-fashion designer labels. Her style fluctuates between girly and tomboy and sometimes she can dress a bit a both. Amelia likes fashion and the best thing about fashion to her is that the fashion world is always changing. Fabs come and go and every season there is always something new in which keeps things exciting.

PERSONALITY
Every person who has ever heard about Amelia Arnault before meeting her for themselves has assumed based on the stereotypical persona they have established in their minds that she is either; a ditzy anorexic bombshell who is pretty to look at but has nothing really going on upstairs or a spoiled superficial brat who thinks the world evolves her. To some extent some of their assumptions about her did prove to be true as she is a exquisite beauty who has been spoiled her entire. However, while she will admit to being materialistic she doesn't feel like that makes her superficial. In fact, she feels like she is the opposite of superficial as her heart tends to get her into some sticky situations. Like her current inter conflict over whether or not to give up her career to satisfy her grandfather's want of having her join the family empire and help run LVMH.

She initially got into modeling because she wanted to be like her mother and she wanted to do something that would make her proud of her and somewhere down the line she found that she really enjoyed being a model. Not just because her mother is one of the most well known supermodels in the world but because she genuine liked modeling and everything that came along with it. Some days she feels like she could give it up and go home to France and go work at LVMH but than other times she feels like its her life and she should just do what she enjoys. She tends to go back and forth on the matter but in the meantime she is running on borrowed time to make a decision as within the next to years she will hopefully have her MBA and be all out of excuses.

When it comes to the relationships in her life Amelia is generous to fault and she doesn't turn her back on people until you give her a reason to do so. However, once she's done she does. You'll do anything for the people she befriends and cares about but once she feels unappreciated or taken advantage of she has been known to drop people like its nothing. She's honest and straightforward in her relationships as she feels that beating around the bush will only lead to more issues down the line. While most people usually come across as rude or insensitive when they try to deal with people the way Amelia does - Amelia has a level of tact that keeps most people from being offended by her words.

Happiest Memory
"One of the happiest most terrifying memories that I have is when I made my runway debut as a model for Prada during Milan Fashion Week in February 2010. I feel like that was the moment when I finally made my first mark on the fashion world and it was a big moment for me. In 2012, I walked in the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show and wore Rosa Clara on the Barcelona Bridal Week 2012 runway and since than my career has just been steadily on the rise."

Saddest Memory
"I have lived a fairly happy life. I don't have a lot of sad memories but if I think hard enough I'm sure I can think of something ... hmm .. uh- when I was sixteen I got my heart broken for the first time ever. That was devastatingly sad and I ended up eating like four gallons of Beyers Oreo Cookies and Creme ice cream that day. I remember my stomach had hurt for hours after that."

History
In a place like America where the age of consent is between the ages of sixteen and eighteen the story of how Amelia came to be made be viewed as wrong by some. However, the opinions of those people don't matter as what happened between a than fifteen year old Natalia Vodianova and a twenty year old Antoine Arnault was perfectly legal. By the age of fifteen Natalia was enrolled in a modeling academy and during a field trip to Paris she had met Antoine. From first sight the two were overcome with infatuation and lust and before Natalia school had left France to go back to Paris she and Antoine had done the do and nine months later Amelia was born. For the first few months of her life Amelia had lived been taken care of by Natalia's family in Russia while Natalia worked hard to finish her training at the academy.

After completing her training Natalia made the move to Paris as she found a place at the Viva Model Management Paris agency. Although Natalia and Antoine had stayed in contact she had never told him of the child they shared until after she had made her move to Paris and the news hadn't initially gone over well when she told him. According to Antoine he hadn't been upset about the fact that they had conceived a child but because she waited over a year to tell him. Things in the beginning had been rocky between the two parents but after a paternity test and a lot of apologizing on Natalia's part the two managed to not only make it work but they fell in-love with each other.

Although both of her parents invested much of their time in their careers Amelia was always well taken care of. Her grandfather and her were two peas in a pod when Amelia was a child and everywhere he went she wasn't far behind. While her entire family played a part in spoiling her no one did it like her grand-père Bernard. Amelia lived with her family at their privately acquired 150 years old castle in Bordeaux, France. She was homeschooled by the best governesses money could afford and she grew up thinking she was a real-life princess until she was thirteen.

Even though she was slightly bummed to find out she wasn't an actually princess, she wasn't upset for very long as her mother began taking her on her modeling shoots and runway shows. It was when she was playing around during one of her mother's photoshoots that she was discovered by an talent agent who saw the photos of a mock-phootshoot that the photographer that day had done of her. The talent agent had told her mom that she should considered breaking Amelia into the modeling world and the thought of being like her mother was enough for Amelia to make it her mission to convince her mother to let her give it a shot. She shot her first editorial that year for Spur Magazine and the rest is history.

So begins...
