Rayna was sick and tired of men. They all led to pain. She
knew he was drunk. But in what mind would it
ever be okay to sleep with someone
other than your girlfriend. After shutting Jake out, she was alone. She had been talking to Mrs. James and told her everything. About her childhood, father, modelling and the boy problems she now had. Mrs. James started giving her advice and saying that Rayna reminded her of her own daughter, minus the horrible childhood. Mrs. James had suggested to forget them and focus on work and school, so that's what she did. Rayna went to school, ate and booked
a lot of shoots. She had her Vogue shoot and they were so thrilled they recommended her to tons of agencies. It was weird when she'd see her face in such well known magazines. Rayna was really making a name for herself. Throughout the month she had made many sketches, all directed towards Koby and Jake. She wished Koby would call her. But mostly, she wished Jake would
stop calling her. He screwed up and he'd have to bare the consequences.
It was Tuesday, and she was bored. She had no plans and didn't know what to do. She moped around her room, picking up her phone then dropping it again. Then she heard a knock on her door, Mrs. James.
"I need to go and get groceries, want to join me?" Rayna hopped on her feet, nodding, as she went to freshen up in the bathroom. Grabbing her purse and phone, she saw a new notification. It was a reminder for
"Rayna + Jake 4 months <3". She threw the phone in her purse and stood in her pretty pink heels. She remembered how happy she was. How he had been so kind. It was the alcohol. The alcohol changed him and made him...
Koby. Rayna started walking into her car, which was now completely emptied from her crap, and watched Mrs. James get in the passenger side. They drove, as Rayna turned on the radio to
Whatcha Say. She smiled as she did little dance moves.
"I rewrote the grocery list, now we can both have one." The woman smiled handing her the paper. Rayna snatched it and glanced over the items.
"How about I get the second half and you get the first?" Mrs. James smiled in approval and they headed their separate ways.
Milk....milk.... She headed to the dairy section and began to look for the 2% milk. But in the aisle she stopped, seeing Koby at the other end. She tried a small wave, but she was still shocked. She stared as he walked closer, not sure what she was going to do.
"Hi.." She said, keeping her hands behind her back.
"Long time no see.." He sounded just as shocked as she was, not sure what to say.
"So how have you been?" His voice was a bit shaky, maybe from excitement? She smiled,
"Busy is the best way to put it," Looking in his eyes was the worst way to stay focused on work. The silence between them danced around. She fiddled with her fingers, looking at him every two seconds.
"Anyways I have things to get.." Rayna said as she put the milk jug in her cart.
"Could we... Go get coffee sometime? On me?" Rayna blushed a bit.
Technically I am single, whether this is a date or not. Rayna ripped part of her paper, and began to write down her number.
"Just text me, okay?" Rayna then handed him the paper and proceeded on her hunt for the groceries, but her heart seemed to be beating just a little bit faster.
Why does he always do this to me? After getting everything on the list she saw Mrs. James standing by the tills.
"What took you so long?" She asked, tapping her invisible watch. Rayna blushed as she apologized and told her about meeting up with Koby.
"That Koby is no good. Out of both those boys, you know I like Jake better. Yeah Jake messed up but he was so... Perfect, for you that is." Rayna then, once again, began going through her memories with Jake. The video games and surprise picnic was all too wonderful.
"Can we hit a detour on the way home?" Rayna asked as Mrs. James giggled. They got through the line and hurried into the car. Rayna heading straight towards Jake's house. As much as Koby made her smile, Jake made her feel safe.
Everyone makes mistakes she told herself. She pulled up to the house and gave Mrs. James a hug before heading up the steps. Knocking on the door was the most nerve wracking thing she could ever do. But she needed to man up. As the door opened she smiled, trying to convince herself this was the right idea, but she still wasn't sure.
"Can I come in?" She asked, checking him out. He didn't seem completely normal, maybe he lost weight? She walked in as his smile became wide upon his face.
"I've been thinking... and well... I miss you.. A lot... Today would have been our 4 months.. It just made me think how much I wished it was.." Rayna was cut off by some lustful lips. It was enough for her to say they were back together. Rayna smiled as she kissed him once more.
"I'd stay but I have to get the groceries home. Text me? I'll text back this time" She winked, heading for the door.
