Description

Jake Prescott
Image
Full Name: Jake Nicholas Prescott
Age and Birthday: 22, April 1st
Personality Traits: Reliable, caring, funny.
Art/Major: Part time model, wants to be a photographer
Brief Description: Jake is the older brother that his close friends Koby and Andrew seem to admire and long for so much. He is trustworthy and reliable, and gives great comfort in knowing someone is always there to help you. He's a modest person, caring and loving towards his close friends, even if he makes the odd joke at dire situations. He's a genuine person, and witty at times. But with the ladies, a whole different side comes out. He enjoys those lonely hearted one night stands and can get girls to do whatever he wants. But then again, with a spark he turn into the prince charming that they've always dreamed of. All in all he is just about the perfect guy to be around, no matter who you are. Having a really good body comes in handy when you live in California, getting girls and modeling gigs. However, Jake isn't one to brag about it, he is actually quite modest about his body, and will rarely be seen without a shirt on unless it's for a photo shoot.
Image
History: He grew up with a normal family. Being an only child wasn't very tough, especially since he got whatever he wanted. You'd think this would turn him into a selfish jerk. But instead he became thankful for what he has and who he has. His parents had brought him up with good morals and love. But growing up soon became high priority as Jake soon saw dreams that were within his grasp, leading him to Pepperdine University. With the help of his parents and their money, he is on the right track to following his dreams of becoming a world reknown photographer.
Appearance: Jake has a mixture of blue and grey eyes. With a body that even male models seem to be jealous of, Jake definitely likes to stay in shape. His smile is a whole other level of attractive, especially when you get to see his perfect teeth. His smile melts even the toughest of hearts, warming his tan features. Golden blond hair that sits above his eye brows in a messy "I just woke up" depiction gives Jake the "cool" vibe. Jake is fairly tall, towering over almost everybody he meets, his muscular stature becoming imtimidating to those who dull in contrast to this sex icon.

Fionna's knock was answered by the boy from the night before that had been with Rayna. She blushed a little from anger as he stated she looked better in the blue dress, but she let it pass quickly. "I found this wallet this morning, um, I believe it's Andrew Hart's?" she said rather quietly. She really needed to learn how to speak up. She winced as the man yelled upstairs for Andrew to "get yo ass down here". She thought there really was no need in being that loud in the morning. The man said that he would be down soon in a sickly sweet voice that made her cringe. She decided she didn't like this guy very much at all.

She looked up as she heard Andrew come down the stairs complaining about the guy's yelling. Once he saw her, he stopped dead in his tracks and stuttered, "Uh,...Hello?". The guy told him what she was here for and she shot him a look. She was pretty sure she had a voice, no matter how small. Andrew stepped up to her and apologized for his friend named Koby. "Oh no, it's ok.." she said.

She glanced around and snapped her eyes back to him as he gave her a charming smile. She blushed and put her head down. No wonder the ginger got to him first, she couldn't even look him straight in the eye. She felt pathetic. He spoke up again, " Something about my wallet?"

Just he spoke, Koby got up from the game to leave. As he opened the door, it was drizzling outside. She sighed as she saw the water come down thinking "Great, now I have to walk in the rain." Turning her attention back to the man in front of her she said "Right, I believe you left this at the house last night, after you left with the pretty red-haired girl"

Jake coughed in the corner, but it sounded like he was trying to cover up a laugh. "Excuse me, I have some things I need to do upstairs," He said and snuck away.

Andrew watched as Koby left into the rain. Now where would he be going? Suddenly the cutie pipped up, "Right, I believe you left this at the house last night, after you left with the pretty red-haired girl" He was shocked, that she would have remembered. I mean, the ginger did have a hair on fire but was she watching him? Maybe he did have a shot. Then he heard Jake chuckle, typical. Jake still didn't know what had happened the night before and this must have been all too funny. Andrew glanced as Jake seemed to be heading towards the kitchen. Then his stomach growled, stunning both of the two, still standing by the door. "Want something to eat?" Andrew asked. He realized the rain was getting heavier and that the poor girl had seemed to have walked. She nodded, in the sweetest matter. It made Andrews heart flutter. What if she gets stuck here with me? A wide grin crossed his face as they walked into the kitchen. Jake was sitting at the table, checking his phone, with a bowl of cereal in front of him. Andrew then proceeded to search the pantry for anything that could be simple. "Well.. Uh... We have apples?" He grabbed two bright red ones and offered her the smaller one. But she looked like she was going to puke. "Or not.." Andrew tossed the apple back into the bowl which had been set on the table. Now she didn't only look disgusted but seemed to be turning pale. "You okay?" he asked as a loud roar of thunder rumbled the house.

"You should go," Cold, heartless, merciless. Rayna's word stabbed at Koby without prevail. Koby glared at her, a smirk no longer claiming his tan features. "Fine," He replied, cold and harsh. The rain was letting up anyway, maybe just enough for Koby to start heading home. His shirt and pants were still in a bunch in the corner, still soaking from the rain. Koby thought he could put the clothes he borrowed in the post and hope they get it as mail. Rayna had stormed pretty quickly up to her room, leaving Koby alone, half naked in the kitchen down stairs. It was getting cold and he knew it was getting late. Maybe he could call a cab. Reaching for his phone in the back pocket of the jeans he borrowed, he realised it was flat. The battery was dead since he had left Jake and Andrew's apartment. Koby groaned, edging on a growl in frustration. "Bullshit!" He half shouted. He was angry, not only at Rayna, more at himself for being so selfish, so clueless. He walked in long strides towards the front door where the rain could be heard the loudest. Maybe the rain hadn't let up after all. Koby had a frown, ruining his perfect composure, as he picked up his clothes and jacket, slipping on his sogging shoes. He couldn't be bothered with a shirt, heat was radiating out of him from pure anger. With a sharp, "Fuck you, Rayna," as a yell, he opened the front door, slamming it hard and fast behind him.

Koby was furious, completely shattered and utterly confused in Rayna. He was walking alone, as the rain pelted down on his skin, stinging the scratches and bite mark on his skin. This angered him further, remembering that he sat there with her, holding her. She's too emotional, too temperamental, too high maintenance, Koby thought, making up reasons as to why he shouldn't keep holding onto some form of hope in their friendship. He walked alone in the rain, back towards Jake and Andrew's apartment, soaking wet and cold to the bone.

Koby opened up the door, not even bothering to knock, letting himself into the apartment where he found Andrew, Jake and that girl sitting in the kitchen. He glared at them all, water dripping rapidly off his skin. Anger was pure in his eyes, hatred towards everyone of them. He walked straight pass them, with so much as a glance from Andrew, they seemed to know better than to talk to him. Although, Koby knew Jake would soon be after him. Koby walked towards the laundry room, stripping down to just the underwear he borrowed, chucking them into the washing machine before turning around to find a towel. He pulled the underwear off from underneath the towel, adding them to the washing machine. After setting the cycle on the machine, Koby slouched against the wall, letting the noise of the washing machine drown out his thoughts. He still hadn't inspected his scratches or bite mark, and he felt the need to neglect it.

Jake watched the petite girl come into the kitchen, taking out his phone so it didn't seem like he was listening. Jake always felt the need to keep tabs on his friends. Acting as though the good advice angel on their shoulder. The girl seemed nice enough for Andrew, since Andrew was such a gentleman. **SLAM** Jake watched Koby storm through the house, noticing he was soaked. What an idiot. He thought as he left the kitchen to follow after his trooper. "Where the hell did you go?! Not even a word as you just leave? And in a storm like this?! What has come over you!" He yelled. It was as if he was a father talking to his child. He knew Koby would just retaliate and yell as loud as him. But he could see sadness in his eyes, staring at the washing machine. "What's going on dude?" He said in a light mood. More like a brother. He could see koby taking a deep breath, about to say something but Jake added, "It's that girl. Isn't it?" Jake was in the mood for a I'm psychic grin but could tell something had gone wrong.

"Where the hell did you go!? Not even a word as you just leave? And in a storm like this?! What has come over you!" Jake yelled at Koby, his voice not filled with anger, but filled with concern, anger just behind the words. Koby raised his eyes to look at Jake, his eyes narrowing into slits, glaring at his best friend. All he wanted to do was to tell him to go away, to leave him be. But he knew Jake better than that, he'd stick around until Koby was better again. However, this made Koby angrier, seeing Jake care for Koby, just like Koby had cared for Rayna. He clenched his fists in his lap as he slouched against a wall, sliding to the floor. "What's going on dude?" Jake was soft again, kneeling to Koby's level. "It's that girl, isn't it?" Koby sighed. Jake knew him all too well. But Koby remained silent, choking on his words. Koby's face softened, his eyes going back to normal, the stressing lines of a frown disappearing back into a calm expression. Koby cleared his throat, his voice sounding so quiet after the shouting that had just been echoing in the small apartment, "I hate her," Koby said. Even though his face showed calm, his voice held so much bitterness, hatred and regret that it took Jake by surprise, his face becoming confused. "She screws me over. She's screwed me over so much in the past 24 hours that all of my screw overs are nothing," Koby spat out each word, trying not to say her name. He didn't want to think about her. He hated her. "I was different with her Jake, I was different," Koby tried explaining, but his cheeks flared up in embarrassment, as he would never admit this to his best friend. Koby was meant to be the macho one - not Jake. Koby groaned, a pain in his bicep was forming. Probably internal bruising. "I don't care anymore, man," Koby finished. Koby lowered his head, hiding his eyes as they swelled up with water. He wouldn't cry because he was sad or because he screwed up - oh no, that's just not Koby - he would cry because he hated Rayna, because he was screwed over and done for.

"I was different with her Jake, I was different," He wasn't really sure what to feel about this whole situation. He'd never had to deal with Koby greal feelings. But Jake could tell this girl was trouble. He knew Koby could come off as a jerk, which if he had at the beginning, probably ruined his chances. "They'll be another girl.." Trying to be positive. "I don't care anymore, man," Koby finished. Jake was frantically panicking in his head. "Want anything? I don't suggest alcohol.., Just well... You know." He scurried to the kitchen and grabbed a chocolate bar he had been hiding. Even guys need an emergency chocolate stash. He threw the bar at Koby, and watched it hit his head. "Cheer up. Wanna go grab some pizza with me?" But Koby was sitting in a pool of misery and hatred. Okay then... Jake walked off, quickly sliding on his shoes. "I'll be back soon okay? Getting pizza, since we're all hungry." Not waiting for a reply, he ran into the car trying not to get soaked. Driving in this storm was horrible. He wasn't a fan of driving in the first place, having lost one of his friends to a drunk driving accident. As he pulled up to the store he noticed two girls inside, waiting for pizza. He put on his charming smile and walked in.

Rayna rushed into the pizza place which they happened to pull up to. After driving up and down main street they settled for Papa John's Pizza. The little bell rung as she ran inside. "Holy it is really raining!" She cried, looking behind her for Jasmine. But of course, the girl was trying to open her pink bedazzled umbrella. Sighing, Rayna opened the door and yelled out, "Forget about your dumb umbrella! Just get inside!" The exotic beauty running inside in her heels was a sight to see. She did a pretty good job too, not tripping once. Letting Jasmine take the lead, they got 2 medium pizzas. One cheese one pepperoni. "Sticking with the classics" Rayna smiled. Jasmine was already checking out one of he employees when they heard another ring of the bell which had been strategically placed over the door. Rayna looked over and saw Jake. She remembered him from a shoot they did together a few months ago. At least she thought it was Jake. "Jake?" She questioned, and he immediately looked up at her. Yup, it was definitely him. That charming smile was unforgettable. Jasmine was still preoccupied flirting with the dough boy as Rayna walked over to the hot blonde she had once met before.

Koby felt something hit his head before the object landed in his lap. It seemed to be chocolate. Koby grimaced, he wasn't in the mood for food, yet alone sweets. His head was hung, but Jake was persistent. "Cheer up. Wanna go grab some pizza with me?" Jake askd. He was trying, but Koby was stubborn. He remained silent, looking at the ground of the laundry room, still wrapped in only a towel. "I'l be back soon okay? Getting pizza, since we're all hungry," And with that, Jake left the room, leaving Koby to sit in misery and regret. He took this chance then to finally draw his eyes to the scratch marks and bite mark on his chest and on his arm. It was bruising already, the blood had dried, but some had washed away during his trek through the rain. The scratches weren't too terrible, but they stung, little half moons dragged down his chest. A slight blueish colour was covering his bicep around the bite mark. Koby looked away before analysing the pain, resisting to remember how those injuries occured. But he couldn't stop it.His body was a constant reminder of how close she had gotten. He remembered Rayna fighting against him, scratching and biting him, leading onto him comforting her, holding her so close to him. He remembered her lips and how they felt on his...oh how foolish he had been. Tears swelled in his eyes, finally overflowing calmly. He wasn't crying, sobbing nor having a fit of sorts. He just simply let his tears fall.

"Jake?" Jake looked down at the girl he knew he'd taken photo shoots with, previous months earlier. She was still stunningly beautiful, her eyes still so large, but rimmed red. Why was this? Jake felt concern and compassion already to this accquaintence. "Rayna," The way he said her name sounded as if a smile played on his lips; which there was. He was surprised to see her in such a...a wreck. Something clearly must have gone wrong, but Jake was too polite to mention anything. "How have you been?" Jake smiled warmly at her, his perfect teeth shining. He thought asking that would be the safest way to head in the general direction as to why her eyes were red. "I am.. good" Rayna choked on the word good. Jake noticed the slightest tone in her last word, knowing too well from his experiences with Koby and Andrew, that she didn't want to talk about it. "How about you?" Rayna asked, so innocent. A smile returned to play on Jake's lips, "I am perfect," He said before seeing the line before him move, a girl that Rayna was clearly accompanying bouncing to her side. "Don't go anyway, I'm just going to order," Jake moved up to order four large pizzas, two hawiian, one pepperoni and one meat lovers. He returned to Rayna and her friend, who had so obviously been gossiping, to wait for his pizza. "So what brings you to this part of California?" Jake asked, casually making small talk.

Fionna took a small noticeable step back as Andrew offered her the apple. "No..thank you. Apples and I don't really agree" she said rather too quickly. He lowered his offer of the apple from her. "Thanks though...again" she said awkwardly. She rocked on the heels of her foot searching for something to say. Koby came in and stomped about making all sorts of noise and headed for what must be the laundry room. Jake jumped up from the table and followed him. After some time, Jake left announcing that he was getting pizza. Fionna tried to make small talk, she had never been very good at it.

All of a sudden lightning flashed and the lights flickered and went out. "Oh.. she said with a jump. She wasn't scared of the lightning, but she had always been scared of the dark. She blinked as her eyes adjusted and started to shake. She reached her hands out for the stranger searching for some form of comfort in the pitch black.

Finding her target, she clutched his shirt. " Sor..Sorry, it's just...the dark." She didn't really know this stranger, but he exuded warmth and she breathed his scent in deeply. He smelled like cologne and something else she couldn't quite place, but it was sweet and she really liked it.

Rayna watched as Jake went up to the counter to order his pizzas. At this time Jasmine had notices the eye candy that had walked through the door just moments ago. "Who is that?" Jasmine asked almost licking her lips with lust. Rayna smiled, it'd be nice to say that he was something she couldn't have. "That's my..." She should have said boyfriend, you know, just to show she was just as good as Jasmine. But she didn't want Jake to end up in an awkward situation. "He's my friend" Jasmine smiled, she could tell that Jasmine was gonna start being a flirt, "But he's gay..." She said just as Jake walked back over. "So what brings you to this part of California?" Jake's tone was friendly and she could tell he was just being polite by making small talk. "I actually got a scholarship for Pepperdine University!" Rayna could have gone for a hug right there. She remembered how she told him about going here on her own and how she lived in her car. Jake gave her a congratulations smile, "Carry out for Jasmine!" Rayna knew that was her cue to go. But she quickly tore out a piece ofpaper and wrote down her number. "Keep in touch okay? I just moved here and have yet to see what this city has to offer." With that, she waved good bye and went back to the car with Jasmine.

"Keep in touch okay? I just moved here and have yet to see what this city has to offer," Rayna tore out a piece of paper and scribbled down her number and passed it to Jake. Jake smiled, glancing at the digits on the paper, a neat little smiley face at the end. Jake smiled and looked up at the girl before him, "Alright, I'll give you a call when I get the chance," Jake tucked the piece of paper in the back of his pants and waved good bye as Rayna left the pizza shop with her friend. "Carry out for Jake!" Jake went and received his meal and quickly ran outside into his car.

As Jake rolled up to his apartment, he noticed all the lights were out. As he opened the front door he heard Andrew calling out to Koby. "Hey guys, if you find the counters in the kitchen underneath the sink, there should be candles there and a lighter," Jake pointed out, slowly making his way to the kitchen. He placed the pizza's on the table and used his hands to guide himself to his sink, helping Andrew find the candles. They were soon lit up and a dull, warm light filled the kitchen. "Koby, come get some food. Help yourself guys," Jake gestured to the pizzas.

Koby soon joined them in the kitchen, still wrapped in a towel. He sat on a stool, chowing down some pizza, slowly. He didn't seem to have an appetite. Jake finished his food quickly, "I'm going upstairs. Gotta make a phone call," Jake said, smiling. "Who to?" Koby asked, his face and tone expressionless. "An old friend I ran into at the pizza shop," Jake said and made his way upstairs to his room. Jake dialed in the numbers on the piece of paper Rayna gave him then pressed call. *Beep, beep, beep, beep..*Ring, ring* The phone connected to the other end, a hurried voice answering, "Hello? Rayna speaking," Jake smiled as he heard her voice.

Jasmine really wasn't the best of drivers. She drove fast and furiously, but had a smile on her face as she lip synced the songs on the radio. Rayna had learned to be a good driver, she couldn't afford tickets, or people wasting her time. As Jasmine pulled up to the house Rayna snatched the pizzas and ran to the door. The rain seemed to be dying down as they went inside. She tried the switches for the light, nope. As she carefully walked to the kitchen table she could hear Jasmine yapping away. "Yes! Okay! I know he was there... Sorry! Well we can have another party this weekend? There's already a party planned? When were you going to tell me?" But Rayna heard the voice fade as she grabbed herself a piece of cheese pizza. Pizza had been a staple with small pizzas being so cheap, and her appetite being so small. As she finished her piece she grabbed a can of sprite from the fridge. She could hear Jasmines heel clicking as she got closer. Now was time for peace, quiet, and maybe a nap. As she was almost at the top of the stairs her ringtone was playing. She followed the tune as she began to sprint to her phone. As she picked it up she didn't recognize the number, a new modelling gig?! She did a little dance before answering the call, "Hello? Rayna speaking,"
"Hey there, enjoying your pizza?" Rayna smiled, of course she knew who this was.
"Well I had a piece and it was good, haha! How was yours?"
"Well there was this girl at the pizza shop and I was too distracted to ask her out."
Rayna giggled and ran her hand through her hair. He was cute.
"Oh really? Well if you had asked her out, what would you have said?"
"Well," He paused. She could tell he was planning out his words. "Hey, so.. I might be having a party next weekend. Did you wanna go? With me?"
Rayna didn't feel the same sensation like when she was with Koby. Maybe it's because he wasn't here in person. "Well if you had asked, she probably would have said she'll need to check her schedule and what time will you pick her up?"

"Jake, what are you doing?" Koby walked into Jake's room, now fully clothed. Jake brought a finger up to his lips as if to shush him. "Well, would 6 be too early?" Jake had a smiled in his voice. Koby frowned. Was Jake getting a date? To what? Koby sat down on Jake's bed bedside him. "No, that should be fine," Came the reply. "That's great. Well, I guess I will see you then?"
"Of course, looking forward to it. Bye!"
"Bye," Jake hung up with a smile on his face. His first semi-date party-partner in quite a long while. He turned to now face Koby. "If it hadn't been obvious, I was on the phone," Jake laughed, standing up. It sounded like the rain had stopped completely, the lights slowly flickering back on. "Who though?" Koby asked, standing up with him. As the lights flickered on, both of their eyes had to adjust to the new light. "You'll meet her this weekend at my party," Jake was cheery and heading out of his room towards the stairs. "You're having a party?" Koby raised an eyebrow, a clear smirk on his face. "Well, I'm sorry but I doubt I'll be turning up. Take a picture of her or something for me," Koby had other plans in his mind for the weekend.
"Aw, now don't be like that Koby," Jake placed a hand on Koby's shoulder as they made their way down the stairs. "If it makes you feel better, there will be lots of other girls,"
Koby laughed, something cold. "There's only one girl there for me at the moment, Jake." Koby said so cold, so lost in thought.
"Well, at least come. We'll all be drunk and having too much fun for you to worry about it," Jake smiled brightly at Koby and Koby tried to grin back. How could this guy be so nice? "Fine," Koby shrugged Jake's hand off his shoulder, "But don't invite that stupid girl sorority, "
"Deal," Jake said, nodding before coming into the kitchen, spotting Fionna and Andrew.

"Party here, this weekend." He announced before going into the lounge room to continue playing games.

Fionna had stayed a bit longer to talk to Andrew as he ate pizza. The room seemed much more comfortable with the light of the candles. After a nice yet awkward conversation, the rain let up and she decided it was time to leave. She felt comfortable enough with him to give him a small hug goodbye and said. " Sorry again, about the whole freaking out over the dark thing." She hoped that he wouldn't think she was strange. Just as she was going to leave, Koby told her about a party that was going to be held here on the weekend. She looked and Andrew and had a moment of boldness. " So long as you're going to be here." she left quickly after having said that so he wouldn't see her blushing furiously.

She arrived home and was just taking off her shoes at the door when Rayna came up to her. " Fionna? Hey where have you been? Oh, and what happened to you at the part last night? " Fionna was a little taken aback by Rayna's sudden change. She didn't seem tolike her very much at the party last night. " Oh, well, a guy left his wallet here last night, and I was just returning it to him. It started raining hard, so I had to stay there for a few hours. He was nice," she said and blushed. She looked up as Rose spoke. She didn't know her as well as she knew Rayna so she waved at her shyly.

Andrew walked Fionna to the door as she gave him a hug. So delicate. " So long as you're going to be here." Andrew blushed a little as she walked out the door. He started humming as he walked through the gaming room. He could feel the looks he was getting from Koby and Jake. He shot his head over in their direction. "What?! So I like her!" He realized it was really a new year of romance for all of them. He could hear Jake laughing but Koby was still in a bad mood. Then he heard Koby get up, "I should probably head out. We have school tomorrow remember?" Andrew got over and took the seat where Koby had been sitting as they waved goodbye to Koby. "He should move in, y'know. He practically lives here." Jake suggested. Andrew knew Koby was a decent guy but... The amount of time he spent here was hard enough to handle. "Maybe... But we don't have much room right. And I really like my space.." Andrew trailed off. He didn't want to offend Jake by saying he wasn't fond of his best friend. And he definitely did not want to be kicked out of the house. He looked at the clock, 8:56pm. As he got up he stretched out his arms. "I think I'm going to hit the sack. My alarms broken so please don't forget to wake me up." Jake nodded as he watched little boy Andrew go to his room.

Much like Koby, Jake was hardly focusing on his much loved subject. He was too consumed by the sudden interest and flare he had taken up for this girl; for Rayna. Everyday when he came home, he would call Rayna, asking her how her day was and if it was still okay to pick her up at 6 and drive back to his for the party; and everytime she had said yes.

By the time the day of the party rolled around, Jake was buzzing with excitement to introduce his new girl friend to his close mates. He could tell it was getting on Koby's nerves, the way Jake was excited to show his friend this new girl. Koby had known that feeling not too long ago too. The same feeling where it was that excitement and boundaries that could be tested and finding out things he didn't know before. But now, Koby lost that feeling and he was back to his old self. Lust and that was it. Jake didn't approve of it, but he couldn't change it either. So instead, he got Andrew and Koby to help move the furniture around the apartment so people could fit in and dance without damaging anything. They moved couches to the wall, and brought as much alcohol as possible from the local stores. They were set, and now all they had to do was get ready and wait for the time to roll by to where the party was mean to start.

Jake dressed in a very casual attire. He had a shower, shaving his face and washing his hair. He brushed his teeth and got dress. Wearing converse with tight salmon-colour, knee length denim shorts, and a white singlet to match. So simple, yet, it showed so much muscle and skin that girls would literally be dying to touch him and get a taste of the real Jake. Jake had already set up a play list to go for the night and now just awaited his guests.

Koby had gotten dressed into a black, plain t-shirt with black jeans to match. He wasn't in the mood he was last week. He was in a much darker mood; a mood to hurt people. He knew that he had a date that night, and he knew he'd be as close and ready to score when possible. Again, Jake didn't approve of his intentions as they had multiple arguments leading up to the night, but Jake couldn't stop him. Koby was Koby and what Koby wanted, he'd get.

Andrew was glad to be back in school. He loved going back and seeing all the summer films his colleges had made. He had made a film during the summer as well, but it was unfinished. It was a documentary of a man who had just home from war to fins his whole life fell apart. But he needed a girl to play the new girl who would make a happy ending. He thought about Fionna, shed be perfect, if she was willing. He decided he'd ask her at the party. Andrew looked forward to the party all week. He even went and bought a new outfit.

The day of the party was nerve wracking. Andrew had already taken 2 showers and borrowed Jake's cologne. He didn't know if he should pick her up, adding he didn't know her phone number. Andrew brushed his hair as he walked down to help move around furniture. "You know the drill. If things are going down, put this around the door handle." Jake announced as he handed out green ribbons. It was a pretty smart idea. Andrew nodded as he put the ribbon in his pocket. He doubted that he would need to use it but it'd be cool to have the boys guessing. Now they'd just wait for the girls and the party would be on.

Rose was on top of everything half an hour before she was due to the party. What was the time? Five? People weren't expected there until around six. She couldn't suppress the squeal when she put on her dress, her back bare and the sparkling silver fabric hugging her sexy curves. Rose had spent up to an hour working her hair, letting it fall around her face naturally and yet so beautifully. She usually liked it to have "zing" but tonight, she was dressed to impress rather than only drawing the attention of every male. She had done her make, a natural yet sassy appeal, and put on some matching heels to her silver dress. By the time Rose finished checking herself out in her mirror and finishing some final touch ups, she walked out of her room ready to leave, it was 5:30.

Frowning, Rose wanted to know where Rayna and Fionna had gotten to. Walking down the hallway that lead to the other R and an F door, Rose had found Rayna in Fionna's room. They were giggling in their outfits, complimenting each other. It was a strong distaste on Rose's part. A sour look urging on her face. But she covered up quickly with a smile, stepping into Fionna's room. "Ahh girls, you look so..." Rose looked Rayna up and down then at Fionna, a nod of approval, "Nice" Rose smiled distastefully at the last word before grabbing Fionna and Rayna's hand. "C'mon, we're going now!" Rose said, smiling normally, her features not looking so sour and mean for once. She was actually genuinely beautiful. Fionna smiled shyly, so uncertain of this woman, but whispered an okay. However, Rayna pulled away and stood still, "I'm getting picked up," she said. Rose raised her eye brows in surprise. But she wasn't interested in getting any further information. "Suit yourself," And with that, Rose pulled Fionna out to the car and they drove off to Jake's apartment.

Once they had arrived, Rose saw the open door to the apartment and grinned. She pulled Fionna along like a puppy and they walked in together. People had already started arriving but it was only a handful of people. Rose loves parties, and this one was just the perfect one for something she had planned up her sleeve. Her next plan was to now ditch the shy Fionna in search for Koby. "I've got to find someone...make do with what you got," Rose said to Fionna before leaving her. Rose walked around for barely two minutes before finding Koby in the kitchen making drinks, already looking as if he'd had several himself. She walked up behind him, putting her hands around his waist, moving them up and down his abdominals. She standing behind him, even though he practically paid no attention to her whatsoever. "Hi," He said, a smirk in his voice. He hadn't seen her coming, but he wasn't surprised either. If anything, he expected it. Koby turned around to face her, a drink in his hand offering to her. Rose cocked an eyebrow, her hips connected to his, trying to get this stubborn man on edge around her. But it seemed he was immune to her straight forward sex appeal. She downed the drink quickly then pulled him back into the lounge room, where the music was turned up and several people started dancing as six o'clock rolled around.

"I'm going to go pick up the girl and I'll be back," Koby heard Jake say. All he did was nod.

"I'm going to go pick up the girl and I'll be back," Jake shouted over the music, smiling at Koby as he walked out of the apartment. He got into his car and drove off to the sorority after a last minute phone call to Rayna about the address. Once he arrive, the front door was already open. He knocked however before stepping inside, and Rayna appeared in front of him almost bumping into him. She had opened the door as he pulled in. "Oops, sorry!" Jake laughed, stepping out of her comfort zone. He smiled at her, how she looked so simple, so sophisticated. She would stand out at the party for sure. Smiling, he reached for her hand to guide her to the car, opening the car door for her and letting her inside. He got into the car himself and started it. "You do look really beautiful," Jake said simply, and then they drove off, back to his apartment.

The music could be heard several apartments away, and Jake shook his head. There were to be a lot of complaints tonight. But it didn't bother him too badly. He quickly got out of the car to open Rayna's door for her and let her out. The front door of the apartment was wide open, letting people stand outside and talk and smoke. Inside, it was flesh on flesh, so cramped and so many people. Koby was dancing with Rose. Rose was dragging her hands all over his body, touching him and lowering herself to his groin just to come back up again, probably giving him a good look of her cleavage once again. Jake rolled his eyes, still having a smile on his lips. "I want you to meet my best friend," Jake said into Rayna's ears over the music, nothing like what Koby would have done. He pulled her into the crowd of people before Koby and Rose. "Koby! Koby!" Jake shouted over the music, grabbing their attention. Koby stopped dancing and Rose stopped mid-grind. "This is Rayna, my date! Rayna, this is Koby, my best friend!" Jake shouted over the music, introducing the two. And the faces that came upon their faces was as if they'd seen a ghost.

Rose was really getting on her nerves. At least she hadn't had to deal with her during the week. She watched as Fionna was dragged into the car and pulled off. The door still open, Rayna sat down to put on her shoes. Just as she got up a building seemed to have bumped into her. A building which was her hot date. "Oops, sorry!" Jake laughed, stepping out of her comfort zone. Rayna got into the car, "You do look really beautiful," Jake said simply, and then they drove off, back to his apartment.. When they arrived, the place looked pretty nice. It was packed with people, and as she got inside she realized it was a grind party. Usually she'd be pretty happy but she had a date and she didn't know what was in store. "I want you to meet my best friend," Jake said into Rayna's ears over the music. She had his hand in hers as he dragged her into the crowd. Then she saw Rose. She recognized the backless dress and those magnificent curves. What she saw next was horrid. She saw Rose's dance partner. Koby. Her heart sank a little, yet it just proved she was right, once again. "This is Rayna, my date! Rayna, this is Koby, my best friend!" Jake shouted over the music, introducing the two. But Jake didn't know they had already been introduced before, on a much deeper level. Rayna didn't say anything, she just cling'ed towards Jake. Rayna tried to give a half smile but she couldn't even force it. "Hey wanna dance?" Rayna tried to say over the music. As they began to turn around she heard Koby say to Jake, "I thought you would have raised your standards over the years, rather than settling for some trash." Rayna's jaw dropped as she pulled Jake closer. The music was loud as she could feel him put his hands on her hips.

Andrew watched as the people flooded in. He saw people starting to lite up on the lawn and he shuttered. Andrew hated smokers. He noticed Rose getting close with Koby. Typical. But then he needed a double take to understand what was happening. Jake's girl, who he's been talking to everyday, was Koby's girl. Oh boy... Then he saw his angel. He watched her wave as he tried to make his way through the crowd. When he got up to her he noticed her black lace dress. Andrew loved girls who wore lace. It was just so sexy. Andrew smiled as he grabbed her hand and bow. "Could I have this dance, m'lady?" She nodded as they headed around where his friends were dancing. He wasn't about to get "down and dirty" but close and comfortable. He pulled her close as they rocked back and forth. But Andrew had a hard time focusing on Fionna when both Koby and Jake had their hands full of lady. It was almost a grind off, and by the looks of it, Koby was winning. after the next few songs Andrew was in dire need of a drink. "Want a drink?" Andrew offered as he slowly stopped dancing.

Koby saw Jake walk into the apartment, accompanied by what seemed to be left overs. A smirk overwhelmed his face, a tear holding his heart. He turned to face them, Rose immediately a puppy at his side. He put his hand around her waist, claiming her. Jake made introductions and a look of horror spread across Rayna's face as Koby made a smart remark. He didn't feel bad. He felt good. He felt even better when she pulled Jake closer to dance, trying to get him out of her head. Koby was feeling good in such a bad way. He wanted to shout, but at the same time he wanted to laugh like a maniac. He nodded at Jake, oblivious to the tension between his date and best friend, walking off with Rose who wore a matching smirk to Koby. Koby grabbed Rose by the ass, pulling her close to him, dancing. He was aggressive in every move he made, anger pulsing out in short bursts. He was trying so hard to keep it under wraps, a reassuring smile crossing his lips every now and then when his eyes met Rose's or Jakes. But never, did his eyes meet with Rayna.

Koby would dip his head underneath Rose's jaw, kissing aggressively down her neck, his hands wondering over his hips, into the curve of her ass, back up and followed the pattern. He was rough, but Rose didn't seemed to mind, if anything she was encouraging it, arching her back into him, grinding up against him. They moved freely with the music against flesh and flesh of the others. They soon both became thirsty and decided they needed more drinks. Koby was well past being tipsy, and if there were a term behind wasted, he would use it. Koby was well near passing out point, but his anger fueled him. Rose was just as bad as Koby at that stage, always clinging to his side. They were the loudest there at this point, until everybody caught up to their number of drinks. They made their way back to the dance floor, sweating and breathing hard. Koby grabbed Rose's waist hard, pulling her up to his chest, his lips crashing on hers. Rose smiled against this, deepening it, not caring who was looking. Everybody was drunk anyway, it wouldn't matter. They both pulled away laughing and continued dancing.

Jake was quite the opposite to the likes of Koby's aggressiveness and urgent need. Jake was gentle and reserved, letting Rayna take the lead. He had his hands on her hips, moving together fast, but not hectic like the people around them. Everybody was touching, sweat on sweat, flesh on flesh. It was a full room of dancing, sweaty boys and girls. Jake saw Koby score a kiss from Rose and smiled. He was oblivious to the plans behind Koby's intentions. He was happy the boy was having a good time, getting his mind of the girl that was bothering him. He brought his attention upon Rayna, looking at her pretty face and her hair tangled freely around her face. He brought a hand up to move it away from her face and pulled her the tiniest bit closer than felt comfortable, but it felt nice. He ran his hands up her waist, down her arms and landed in her hands, intertwining their fingers. He was looking into her eyes the whole time, losing himself in them. They were so...demanding. It was hard to not look away.

Jake was starting to get a little exhausted from all the dancing and thought they could sit down in the kitchen for a while before they continue dancing. "Lets go sit down," He said, puffing. He grasped her hand tightly, not chancing to lose her in the crowd. He pulled her through to the kitchen, and placed her on a seat. "Want another drink?" Jake offered. Rayna nodded reluctantly. Jake shrugged, pouring her another drink and passing it to her. It wasn't strong. She didn't seem keen on drinking anyway. Jake walked around to the seat beside her and sat down, placing a hand on her knee. "You okay?" He asked, Rayna looked out of place.

Rayna could feel Koby almost punching her in the face. The way he grabbed Rose was... Lustful. It was passionate and hot. She liked Jake but there was something about Koby throwing her off her game. She tried to stay close to Jake and she could feel his eyes on her, but she wasn't up for the big party. This was too much to handle. "Lets go sit down," He said, puffing. Pulling her with his strong grasp, she smiled, he was sweet. "Want another drink?" Jake offered. Rayna nodded reluctantly, she remembered how rowdy she got at the last party and how things ended. She figured being tipsy would help ease her mind away from Koby but being drunk would encourage it. Suddenly she felt a hand on her knee, knocking her out of her thoughts. "You okay?" He asked, so sincere. She shook her head, she couldn't tell him the truth. If Koby really was his best friend, it would make things awkward. "I'm fine... Just not really up to partying.. Could we go somewhere private?" She watched as he processed this information. No. I don't want to sleep with you. She thought. But instead he got up and led her to his room. He had a tv and the bed would have just enough room to snuggle up. Assuming that's all he wanted to do. "I'll be back," Jake said as he left her alone in his room. She walked over to the bed and took out her phone. 1 New message? She clicked it and it was the confirmation for the check of last weeks photo shoot. She smiled, at least I'm not broke! But she kept reading and it said they wanted her for another shoot, with males, on Tuesday. She cringed. Hopefully, fate would make that guy Jake. But reality is it wouldn't be. Then Jake walked back. He had a bag of chips, and a few movies. "I have video games if you're into that, or I brought some movies?" This was exactly what she wanted.

Jake came back into the room to see Rayna on her phone, a smile breaking across her face. "What's got you smiling?" Jake said teasingly. He put in a movie that seemed to be a horror - his favorite genre. It seemed to be Silent Hill. He sat back up on the bed beside Rayna, letting her get into her comfort zone. He leaned against his pillows, his hands down by his side. He was too much of a gentleman to put his arms around her just yet, even considering the amount of alcohol consumed. There was some light falling into the room from the street light that flooded his room. He would grab some chips every now and then, enjoying the movie. He looked at Rayna who seemed constantly distracted; and this slightly bothered him. "Rayna?" Rayna turned her head slowly to face Jake. "Really, what's bothering you. You've been so quiet," Jake frowned, wondering what made her look so sad.

She watched as he popped in the movie. Rayna had never been a fan of horror films. She felt like her life as a child had been one, so horror films, unless they were about kids, never scared her. She laid her head against Jake, he didn't even put his arm around her. She felt self-conscious. Maybe he's not actually interested in me? But she tried to hide it and stay calm. "Rayna?" Rayna turned her head slowly to face Jake. "Really, what's bothering you. You've been so quiet," Jake frowned. Nice job. This is why you'll never be an actress. Rayna looked down at her flat stomach. Maybe he thinks I'm anorexic.. She sighed trying to control her breathing. "Just not into horror films, I guess...." Jake gave her a sly smile, "You scared?" but Rayna didn't smile back. Then she heard a thump on the door. She threw her arm over Jake. "Probably just some party guests getting frisky" He reassured her. But Rayna wasn't convinced. "Go check?" She let him get up as he peaked through the door. It was Koby making out with Rose in the hallway as they made their way into one of spare rooms. Koby even took the time to put the ribbon on the door. "Like I said, just some party guests." As he walked back his green ribbon fell out of his pocket. "What's that?" Rayna asked, staring at the lime green object.

"What' that?" Rayna was so innocent as she said this. Jake's eyes widened as his ribbon fell out of his pocket behind him. "Shit," He cursed. He picked it up, shoving it back in his pocket. "It's nothing, Rayna," He came back over to the bed, lying next to her, still not touching her. Their arms perhaps slightly touching, he couldn't tell from the embarrassment that overwhelmed him. "No, what is it?" Rayna pressed, moving away, something coating her voice. Was it regret? Jake sighed heavily, sitting up. "It's just a green ribbon that I gave to the boys incase things got hot and heavy," Rayna was slowly moving away at this point, "No, Rayna I wasn't planning on doing anything, I swear. I've barely touched you all night for the exception of dancing," Jake was sincere, telling the truth and wasn't moving from where he sat. He was sure she wouldn't leave his side. He wasn't the type of guy to sleep with girls on the first date anyway. "Rayna, I'm not like that..." He said, letting it sink in. "Do you want to play video games instead?" He thought maybe doing something with his hands instead of nothing would convince her.

"No, what is it?" Rayna pressed, moving away a little. It couldn't have just been some useless piece of fabric he was keeping for later. Jake sighed heavily, sitting up. "It's just a green ribbon that I gave to the boys incase things got hot and heavy," She moved back a bit further. Was this his idea? Was he expecting to get "hot and heavy"? Though it was a pretty genius idea, a discrete "do not disturb" sign if you will. "No, Rayna I wasn't planning on doing anything, I swear. I've barely touched you all night for the exception of dancing," Jake was sincere, she knew that but she still felt the need for distance. "Rayna, I'm not like that... Do you want to play video games instead?" Rayna would rather just cuddle until the morning came, but she knew that would just be giving in to what he wanted. "Sure.. but I've never played video games before..." She blushed. The only type of video game she had ever played was pac man and super mario bros at the arcade when she was little. Back when her mother was alive, her parents would often bring her to the game center around the corner. Always getting either cotton candy or ice cream on the way home. She saw Jake's look of shock. He was probably thinking she was joking. "And do you have any sweats or something I could borrow? This skirt is getting kind of irritating..." She wasn't about to strip in front of him, but her skirt was really constricting. Same with her burgundy blouse. Looking good was hard, and uncomfortable.

'And do you have any sweats or something I could borrow? This skirt is getting kind of irritating..." Jake tried recovering from the shock of Rayna never having played video games before. He shook his head and started towards his draws of clothes. "These might be a tad big for you..." He said, holding up the sweat pants against Rayna's hips, brushing her body gently. Rayna was looking at him with those eyes again, the ones that say how uncertain she is of men. "Hold on, I'll see if there's any smaller ones," Jake put them back and found some grey sweats, the smallest he could find. It was from when he was younger. He held the pants once again at her hips and her hands found his, receiving the pants from him. "This'll do fine," Rayna said. Jake nodded. They were standing so close, and it was so quiet and peaceful besides the noises either side of the room. Jake was starting to lean in, mesmerized by those eyes. But he tore himself away. "There's a room at the end of the hall, be careful!" He said as she left the room.

She slid down the wall until she was sitting on the floor, still in her skirt. She was sobbing and crying. Pull yourself together.. But no pep talk would make this better. "Rayna," She heard Koby coming back. She tried to reach to close the door but was too late. He walked through the bathroom door, leaning up against the wall, bashing it with his body. "Rayna...that was rude," He mumbled loudly. She didn't want to talk anymore. She just wanted to go home. "Piss off Koby!" Rayna shouted, sobbing. Koby smirked. "What's a pretty face like your's crying on the bathroom floor for?" Again, this would have felt sincere besides the fact everything he said was influenced by all the alcohol he had consumed. She heard him stumbling closer. "You hurt me Rayna, An-and" -burp- "And I liked you, a lot. Actually," She began to sniffle as she looked up to him. "I still like you, but you know what, Rayna? You're...you're a bitch!" Koby burst out laughing, making her furious. She punched his arm, not with full power but enough for him to feel it. "You don't get it do you? I actually care, Rayna...and now..now you're with my best friend!" Koby laughed, so cold. Now they were both a mess. Both still crying and sitting on the bathroom floor. "I'm sorry..." She apologized. Not sure if she was sorry for letting him get close, being with his best friend or even moving out here for university. "Now... Could you go?" She sniffled, "I need to change.." She watched as he got up slowly, "Yes you do.." He walked off, hopefully this time for good. But she closed the door and locked it, letting out the rest of her sobs. Rayna quickly switched into the sweats, which were still way too big for her and one of his t-shirts. Walking back to Jake's room she wrapped her arms around herself. "I'm not anorexic.." Mumbling to herself.

She opened the door to Jake's room and saw he was wearing some sweats too, without his shirt on. "Sorry.. It's kind of hot in here.." He half smiled. Rose couldn't smile. She had just been slapped across the face with words. She had also forgotten to wipe off the running make up from her break down. Jake, noticing the black stains on her face, ran to her side, "What happened? I knew everything wasn't okay, please, you can trust me." But Rayna was done playing the "trust" game, especially when someone she trusted just ripped her apart. "Just some drunk mocking me. I guess I'm kind of fragile.."

Jake rubbed her arm in comfort, not daring to get any closer. She was so...delicate. Anything could harm her. "Come," Jake tugged on her hand, guiding her to in front of the television. "I'm going to teach you to play Call of Duty..." A grin was present in his tone. He sat her down in front of the television, handing her the controller. She sat cross legged in front of the tv, Jake sitting behind her so she was inbetween his legs. He wrapped his arms around her, placing his hands on top of hers. "Hope you don't mind," He whispered in her ear, reminding her of Koby. They were instantly connected to an online match. His fingers covering hers lightly. "Alright, they'll be on the opposite side of the map," He said quietly to her, moving her thumbs so they were walking forward. Jake let go of her hands after he explained the controls, letting her move around for a little bit. He complained of her camping in a funny tone, dying first in the match. Jake laughed as Rayna frowned, stating so simply that "Oh, he killed me." He kept his hands wrapped around her waist as she played the game, taking turns every so often. It was then going on midnight, and Jake's back was sore from leaning over her. He stretched his back, "Want to try to watch another movie?" He asked, standing up. Ranya shrugged, looking up at him from the floor. "Pick a movie, I'll be back,"

Jake went and got some more snacks and another drink for them. He didn't know what movie Rayna chose, letting it surprise him. He sat up on the bed, leaning on his side, his body propped up on his elbow, his hand holding his head up. He patted the spot in front of him for Rayna to join him. His eyes were red, probably from playing the game so close to the tv, but it didn't seem to bother him.

They sat down, with Jake so close. Video games were just a way for people to get anger out without actual harm. Not a bad idea. After Jake explained the controls, she got pretty good, for a girl that is. With his arms on her hips, she didn't mind being this close. It was becoming clear his intentions weren't for a one night stand. But she was reminded of Koby. Unlike Jake, Koby had a firm grip on her. He was controlling and strong. The way he knew what he was doing scared and excited her. They kept playing until around midnight, she glanced at Jake stretching behind her. "Want to try to watch another movie?" He asked, standing up. Ranya shrugged, looking up at him from the floor. "Pick a movie, I'll be back," She watched him leave as she crawled over to where all the dvds were. There were multiple horror films, a few classics and some comedies. She loved comedies. But she had a feeling she would fall asleep, so she chose Scott Pilgrim vs. The World. She had never seen it but she was reading the back of the case, and it sounded alright. The sounds of Jake coming and jumping onto the bed brought a little smile on her face. She looked back as he patted the spot next to her. Walking to the bed she snuggled in close. As the previews started they both didn't move to get the remote and fast forward. As they watched the movie she sipped some more beer and ate a bit of chips he had brought up. But she was getting really hot, and sweating was gross. She slipped out from his arm and began to slide the baggy sweats off. She was wearing some red booty shorts as she snuck back into the bed. "Sorry, I was just overheating" Rayna snuggled up to him, just wearing her underwear, bra and the shirt he lent her.

Jake instantly felt the warmth that Rayna exerted. He brought both his arms around her, holding her close. But she soon slipped out of Jakes arms, pulling down he baggy sweats. Jake's eyes widened, "Sorry, I was just overheating," Jake resisted the urge to groan. She was hot. She came back into his arms, more skin touching than what was intended. His chest was wide, muscly and offered comfort for Rayna's head. His hands trailed through her hair, down her neck and nestled into her waist. His other hand was supporting her back, his thumb tracing circles. His head rested on top of hers, the movie finally beginning. He sat up a little but Rayna could still rest her head on his chest.

The movie must have been funny, scoring a few giggles from Rayna, but Jake wouldn't know. He was more concerned about the almost-naked girl he held in his arms. She was beautiful, puffy eyes and all. She looked so...innocent. Her tough guard was done. She was vulnerable, just as much as he was. He tried to look back up at the tv screen, but her smile was making it so difficult. He pressed his lips to the top of her head, in comfort, reassurance and a slight hint that maybe the booze was sinking in. He was reluctant to reach for his drink to take a sip, even more so reluctant to shimmy back down into a comfortable position. Everytime Jake moved, Rayna would move with him, flesh on flesh. But not like outside the room. This flesh on flesh was...was something different. Jake felt the spark that ignited it. The electricity that flowed through his veins with every touch that was felt. He was smiling though, his perfect teeth showing. He turned Rayna's head to face him, distracting her from the movie. He looked at her eyes, trying to communicate with his own, hoping that what he was about to do was okay with her. He started to lean in, his breathing quiet. He planted a small, soft kiss on hers, only leaving her lips too soon to be satisfied. But it was something, and it was a start. He pulled back completely and leaned back into his previous position, holding her again, letting her continue with the movie.

The movie was on, but she didn't care. Being so close to someone was scary. She was concentrating on regulating her heart beat, so it wouldn't beat out of her chest. Every time she would fidget, he moved with her. Then she felt his hand on her face, moving to face him. She stared into his eyes, almost asking if it was okay. He started to lean in as he planted a small soft kiss on her lips. It was sweet, without any sexual tension. Obviously she wanted more, but that was all she needed. Yet, there didn't seem to be a passion, at least not the same kind of passion she had with Koby. Why do I always compare with Koby? She snuggled closer to Jake, not that she could get much closer, as she closed her eyes. She was very sleepy and was comfortable enough to just let her self drift into dreams.

Jake was soon fixated on the tv, laughing along with Rayna before she became quiet. He peered down at her, seeing her eyes were fluttering shut, a yawn escaping her lips. She was soon asleep in his arms in a little ball. Jake sighed, moving slowly and softly from under her to turn the tv off, putting the chip bowl and drinks on top of his drawers before turning the light off. He turned the over head fan on high and crawled underneath the blankets, lifting Rayna up and over the bed sheets. Her back was to him, allowing him to place his arm over and around her, guarding her protectively from anything. He liked the feel of her breathing underneath his arms, the warmth that touched him. His bare chest was up against her back, her bare legs against his. He planted another kiss on top of her head again, propping himself up on his shoulder, admiring her as she fell into a deep sleep.

Jake ran his free hand over her body - from her shoulder, to her waist, down her thigh and back up to her shoulder. He kissed her neck every now and then until his eyes started to get heavy. He layed back down, rolling over so his back faced her, falling asleep.

Rayna woke up in a haze. She remembered being with Jake and as she woke up she was glad he was still by her side. But she looked at the mirror across the room, make up smudging along her face. She discretely got out of bed and found her purse, which she had put an emergency make up kit. Taking the bag she went down the hall to the bathroom. After fixing her face and putting on her shiny gloss she walked back to Jake's room. But just as she reached the door she heard another door opening. She turned her head to see the room with the green ribbon opening, and Koby stepped out. Trying not to react she immediately rushed back in the bed with Jake. She slipped back under his arm, as she had been when she woke up. Then she felt him wake up. She could feel his eyes open. She rolled over, "Good morning" She smiled, leaning over to kiss his cheek. She then hopped out of bed and put the baggy seats back on. "I got to take a shower, alright? But help yourself to whatever food you can find in the kitchen." Nodding, Rayna walked down the stairs to the kitchen table, covered in plastic cups. As Rayna continued to the kitchen she saw Koby, making himself a coffee, looking very hung over. She laughed, "Party too hard?" No reaction. She was eager to make him crack as he had made her. "It feels like I haven't seen you in forever... Get hit by a truck? Seems your face is more messed up than I remember." He turned to face her, leaning on the counter, unimpressed. "So you're just going to stay silent? With that big mouth of yours it must take super glue to shut up." He rolled his eyes. You can do better than this Rayna. Then she put a hand on her hip, "Nice green ribbon, but I don't think it counts if you were playing with yourself." Then she heard the toilet flush. Suddenly the curvy blond came from the bathroom. Rose.

Rayna watched Rose walk in the room as Rose gave him a kiss on the head. In her mind, she had already killed Rose 3 times. He kissed her neck softly as Rose rolled her eyes. She was just trying to hide the fact that she was insanely jealous. Rose turned her cold eyes toward Rayna, "Oh, you're still here?" Immediately sending Rayna to cross her arms. "Who let you stay here? Who'd you sleep with?" Both of them now with big grins on their faces. I can't take on a tag team. Rayna didn't want to lie and have a big web made, but she didn't him to think she was still interested. "Well coming from someone who doesn't even live here, I say it's none of your business." Rayna was beginning to break. The pressure, the insults, the heart break was just too much. But she knew she had to be strong. "Rayna, baby, don't you have a photo shoot? Shouldn't you rush off and leave Jake?" Rose giggled foolishly. She had obviously been let in on the know of the previous events. That was it. Without a word, Rayna walked off towards Jake's room. She wasn't going to cry, and didn't want to cry.

As she reached the hall, Jake was just coming out of the bathroom. He had a towel wrapped around his waist and was heading toward her with a big smile. As he came up to her she grabbed his arm, "Jake, I have a lot of problems. I don't really want to talk about them, but I'm just giving you a heads up. If you want to stop seeing me, I understand..." But Jake lifted her chin and kissed her, to shut her up of course. "What brought this on sweet lips?" Rayna blushed at the compliment, but still no smile. "Well, your friend...I think his name is... Koby? Well he said you think I'm too temperamental and just want to sleep with me...." Then Jake's smile disappeared too. He stormed downstairs and into the kitchen where Koby and Rose were still cuddled up.

Koby let his words flow like venom, striking Rayna where it hurt the most. He smirked, pleased with himself and the damaged he caused. He continued to hold Rose, but only loosely. His hands didn't cup her tightly, not was it with any feeling. It was out of pure selfishness that he held her at that moment, simply because he didn't want to be alone. But his eyes darted straight to Rayna as she simply moved her hands from her chest and walked out of the kitchen towards the stairs, and with that, Koby was left by himself with Rose. Rose laughed, so cold "Finally! I thought she'd never leave!" She sighed happily, snuggling her head into Koby's neck. Koby pulled away, frowning, shoving her off his lap, frowning. "Yeah, okay, leave me alone," He rolled his eyes, standing up to grab fresh coffee. Rose shrugged, not being bothered by his sudden change of mood.

Jake walked into the kitchen, a look of disgust engulfed his perfect features. Koby raised an eyebrow as he turned to face the person who had rushed into the kitchen. "Koby?" Jake almost practically growled, walking towards Koby. "We need to talk...now," Koby's face returned back to a simple composure, coffee in hand, they walked into the lounge room, leaving Rose in the kitchen. Jake put his hands on his hips, a glare crossing his face. "What did you say to Rayna?" Koby's eyes flashed open in surprise. "What did I say to...what's her name again?" Koby's face turned into a smirk. Jake sighed, bringing his hands to his forehead, rubbing his temples. "Okay, Koby, whatever you said to her, cut it out. She's the only girl I've liked in a while. You know that. Don't ruin it," Koby rolled his eyes, "Man, you should have seen the insults she said, far out.." His head was pounding harder than before, due to the amount of stress before him. "Alright, I'll stop," he said, giving in. His head hurt too much. He looked at Jake before turning around to walk into the kitchen back to Rose. Jake followed after him, but walked straight past and up the stairs back to Rayna.

"Okay, he should stop now," A smile crossed his face, trying to cheer her up.

Rayna leaned against the wall, smiling idiotically at what she had done. What if she ruined their friendship? Well Koby would kind of deserve it. Rayna then heard the footsteps coming up the stairs again, and put back on her blank face. "Okay, he should stop now," A smile crossed his face, making her lighten up as well. She then grabbed his arm, pulling herself close to him and looking up at his blonde hair. "Could we go out for breakfast? Even just to MacDonalds?" She blinked hysterically, trying to pull off the pouty lip as well. But he caved in so easily. "Sure, babe." Making her giggle. She liked being called babe, sweet lips and other cute nicknames. They walked down the stairs and to the door. As she sat down to put on her shoes Jake yelled across the house, "We're going out, see you later!" Then they left, off to eat some greasy breakfast from some desperate teenagers who happened to work at the food establishment. They walked in and it was packed. She could hardly see the counter. "It's not that bad.." Jake tried to stay positive but Rayna knew this would not work. "I know a place not to far from here... Want to go on a adventure?" Grabbing her hand they went back into Jake's car, this time, Rayna was driving. She knew where she was going. She was going to Al's diner, that's where she ate 99% of the time when she was homeless. The food was hot, cheap and didn't completely suck. Plus everyone there knew her and it was a safe haven. Hopefully he would like it too.

Jake's eyes were wide when he noted the old fashioned set up with the cute decorations placed upon the walls. It was nice, homey and welcoming. They walked inside, hand in hand, fingers intertwined. Jakes thumb was rubbing the back of Rayna's hand. They walked in and were greeted by a couple of friendly faces behind the counter and not so friendly faces from the customers that were already seated. "Rayna, darling!" Came a rich, feminine booming voice. Out came a small plump lady, a bit on the obese side but nonetheless friendly looking. Rayna's face lit up at the familiarity of the lady. "Hey Kelly, we need some food, desperately," Rayna said, smiling. Kelly was easily eyeing off the piece of man hanging off her shoulder. "But we want something different this time," A smile came across her face. "Can we have a menu?" Kelly nodded, remaining silent, she handed her a menu.

Rayna immediately pointed at the pancakes on the menu. Jake smiled, chuckling quietly, "Guess you want pancakes?" Rayna nodded, so Jake nodded as well. Kelly took back the menu, nodding and headed out to the back preparing the the meal for two. "And two coffee's as well!" Rayna shouted. She dragged him to her favorite part of the small diner that was situated at the back, near the window that faced the road. They sat down side-by-side, making small talk until their food arrived.

Out came the plump lady again with the pancakes on one plate and two cups of coffee on another. She placed them down carefully, and walked away without a word. Jake smiled, breathing in the delicious smelling food. It was only on one plate however, it didn't bother him. The food was smothered in syrup and butter. He hadn't realized how hungry he really was. "Dig in." Rayna and Jake said together, sharing the meal. Their hands would touch every so often, a spark occurring every so often, making Jake's urge for Rayna strong.

After they completed their meal, Jake leaned back and placing his arm around Rayna's shoulder, Rayna drinking in the warm coffee. "So, what did Koby say to you?" Jake raised an eyebrow, quite similar to how Koby would have done it.

Rayna glanced at the cars passing by as they ate th pancakes, which were covered in whip cream. Joel, Al's son, knew how much she loved whip cream. She smiled as she looked at Jake eating the pancakes. Every so often their hands would touch and she would have a light pink cover her cheeks. When they finished the meal, they still sipped on their coffee, Jake looked at her. "So, what did Koby say to you?" Making Rayna look down. She didn't want to lie and it end up biting her in the butt, "Well he said my face was so ugly he couldn't look at me... and called me a slut... I know it's not much but it really just hurt." She looked down to her lap as she felt him put his hand over hers. "I don't know why'd he say that, but I told him to back off. Maybe you guys just need to know each other better." Rayna cringed over thinking about being near him again. Especially if Jake meant some alone time. "What about a double date? Then I could be with you if you feel uncomfortable?" Rayna loved how considerate Jake was. She kissed his cheek in approval. I guess it's a date. A double date.

The drive home felt a lot longer than it should have. Rayna had put on the radio and blasted the music, to avoid talking. This morning was big, ever since she went into university her whole life had changed. All the classes were insane and now she had to miss class this week for a photo shoot. C'est la vie. After telling Jake where to turn they arrived at her palace. "Last night was really fun," She said sincerely. It really had been the most fun she'd had at a party since forever. Jake leaned closer, "I had fun too" They both felt the overwhelming urge to be closer. Then Rayna went in for the kill. She didn't just kiss him, it was almost a "This is the last time I'll see you, so let's make it count" kiss. She put her hand in his hair and he pulled her closer with his hand on her hip. When they finally cooled down she gave him one last peck on his cheek. "Call me tomorrow?" She winked as she headed inside. Probably going to nap, because she didn't get much sleep and knew she had a ton of classes tomorrow.

"Call me tomorrow?" Jake nodded, pulling Rayna in for a quick hug before he let her go. He didn't know when he'd see her again, it was just another week worth of waiting again before the weekend, where he planned their double date. He walked back to his car, hands in the back pocket of his jeans. Once he got in the car, he drove slowly back home to his apartment, where he would be ready to rip Koby's throat out if needs be. He would stomp his voice box.

Once Jake arrived home, Koby was nowhere to be seen. What day was it? Sunday? Koby was probably wondering back home preparing for his week. But Jake still found Rose sitting in the kitchen, twirling her fingers around the top of the coffee cup. She turned her head towards him as he entered the kitchen, "Ah, Jake," Jake nodded in Rose's direction, planning to walk straight past her to his room, "Koby said he'll stop by later tonight to chill out," She said to his back. Jake stopped walking and turned around. Rose had stood up. She was wearing a very low cut black singlet and short denim shorts. It enhanced the sexy curves of her body, more than the dress she wore the night before did. Jake rolled his eyes mentally, knowing exactly what her intentions were. "Where's your little friend?" Her voice sounded like velvet, and she sauntered towards him slowly, her hips swaying from side to side. He stood still, back straight and arms across his chest. "I dropped her back at her home," He replied simply, just a simple statement. "The sorority?" Rose corrected, raising an eyebrow. She was just in front of Jake at that point, practically breathing on him like she had to seduce Koby to be her date for the partner. But Jake would not be wavered. He was too loyal.

"What do you want Rose?" Jake said coldly as she trailed a hand up and down his forearm. "I think you know, Jake," She practically purred. She was a person driven by deceit and lust. Her body was built for what she wanted. But what she wanted she could not get from Jake. This time, Jake rolled his eyes physically, and this offended Rose. "Don't I appeal to you? Don't you want me?" Rose put her fingers in the hoops of her denim shorts, slightly pulling them down. Jake just shook his head, "You're perfect for Koby, you see. Now, go home. " Jake put his arms back on his sides and turned to go back to his room. "There's a lot of things you don't know Jake!" Rose called out from behind him. But he didn't care, she was a liar anyway.
Rose then left the house to walk back to the sorority.

Andrew finally got home and he slammed the door. He was frustrated and had a big head ache. Every footstep felt like he was walking in quicksand. His feet were heavy and he could just collapse right where he was standing. But something stopped him. Jake came over and put a hand on his back, "You okay? You should go upstairs and sleep it off... You can tell me what happened later," With that, Andrew was ambushed to his room for a worthy nap.

During the week Andrew focused on school. He had been back to his normal self, except he had started to drink. Regularly. Every night before bed he'd have 2 beers, almost like an obsession. Little did he realize, when he was intoxicated, he became a different person. He was demanding and rude. But at school he was the soft, and timid. The good Andrew.

Then it was Thursday. The day he had been dreading. He had a big exam and he still felt unprepared. Plus he was 20 minutes behind schedule. He rushed into the kitchen, with his buttons on his shirt buttoned wrong. "Woah dude. Calm down." Jake said so casually. But he didn't have time to stay calm. He quickly made a coffee and then wondered why Jake wasn't rushing. Jake obviously knew what he was thinking, "I have a spare this morning" Then Andrew almost ran into the door. Slipping on his shoes he was about to go when he heard Jake yell, "Remember I won't be home later. I have a double date with Koby and Rose." Then Andrew was off.

Rayna had another long week. It seems her class projects were sneaking up on her and she was stressing. She had a decent photo shoot with Jiovani and Jake even said he was slightly jealous. Which made her smile, she liked how much he cared. They had called each other again every night and even went out for lunch Tuesday. On Wednesday, she had an adventure. She found out there was a way onto the roof of the complex from her balcony. She was like a spider monkey when she climbed up there to watch the sun set. It was beautiful. She loved the wind up there, completely free and the open air. That was where she got so much inspiration for her sketch book.

Finally it was Thursday. She had just gotten home from uni when she had to figure out what to wear. Thankfully she had gotten a new outfit from the latest photo shoot she did. She slid into her new striped dress and pink raincoat and twirled around in front of her mirror. She even took the time to curl her hair. Grabbing her favorite lip gloss, she chucked it into her purse. She knew Jake would be here any second and she kept walking past the mirror to make sure she didn't look like a fool. Even though she was a model, she was still very self conscious.

Jake's week was slower than usual. Slower than the week before had been when he was so anxiously waiting to pick up Rayna for their party. The lectures were long and lost of purpose, even more so since he chose to sit away from Koby for once. He decided he was more or less still angry at his friend for his treatment of his new girlfriend. But he wouldn't hold it against him forever.

His shower had been long and full of thought; some thoughts he never considered. He shaved his face and brushed his teeth and got changed. He settled on wearing a black collared shirt and tie with blue denim jeans and his converse. His blond hair wasn't aiming on co-operating with him, so he left it as it would usually sit and put on his favorite cologne, grabbed his keys and headed towards his front door where he was met by Andrew. "Yep, going out now," Jake nodded, answering the silence that Andrew gave him through a frown. Jake got in the car and started it up and headed towards the sorority. He was smiling as he drove up to the drive way, and tried to be quiet as he got out of the car. He closed his door quietly and was light on his feet as he ascended the stairs to the front door. He was hoping that the front door was unlocked so he could sneak in and surprise Rayna. In his favor, the door was unlocked.

Much like the stance of a burglar, Jake snuck up the stairs, noting the two doors that had the letter R on them. His eyes grew wide, knowing very well one of those doors could lead to Rose's room, and that was an event he was keen on missing out on. Instead, he slowly pushed on the door that was slightly open and found a very stressed girl walking past her mirror back and forth. Jake's face lit up as he jogged in, catching Rayna by surprise. He lifted her up and marveled at her outfit. "Beautiful," He said in awe, leaving little kisses on her cheek, on her neck and lastly on her lips. He still had a smile on his face as he put her feet back on the ground. "Lets go before Koby comes to pick up Rose," Jake whispered into her ear, dragging her forward to leave. She quickly grabbed her purse and they headed down stairs to the car.

The car ride was filled with a comfortable silence as they headed towards a gold class cinema further in the city area. They held hands the whole ride with music quietly playing filling the car. Once they arrived, Jake quickly got out of the car to open Rayna's door. A smile lit up her face in his gentleman discourse. He helped her out, holding her hand and waist before closing the car door and heading towards the entrance. Once they made it inside, they decided to have some dinner after seeing the movie. They stood on the escalators that took them upstairs to the cinema, and started viewing which movies to see, and started waiting on Rose and Koby to arrive.

Koby's week went reasonably fast. Surprisingly, Jake had contacted him not to come over after he had dropped Rayna off at home, and told him about the double date they were to have on Thursday night. So not only was Koby frustrated at his friend, but even more peeved they assumed he was now dating Rose. His week was already stressful enough, but the sounds of the double date seemed to make everything worse. His classes moved through the unit way too fast for his liking, getting left behind every time he blinked. As much as he enjoyed it, he found that it probably wasn't going to be worth it in the end. He usually sat next to Jake, but this time, Jake had sat away from him. Koby wasn't bothered by this, knowing that Jake would come around sooner or later and everything would be normal again. But on Thursday morning, Jake told him they were to pick up the girls separately. Koby reluctantly agreed, not really keen on the drive with Rose alone, but what must be done, must be done.

Koby waited half an hour after Jake had texted him saying he's now picking up Rayna, so Koby took the time to find something suitable to wear. He had no clue where the place he was going to was, or what attire was required, but he settled on some dark jeans that he had worn to the sorority during the storm, and a white t-shirt underneath a black formal jacket, and black formal shoes. Semi-formal Koby assumed. He didn't bother with his hair, running his hands through it as he thought about it and walked out to his car to pick up Rose. When he got in the car, his phone vibrated, receiving a message from Jake saying they're going to the gold class cinema in the city. Koby rolled his eyes, how cliche, he thought.

When Koby arrived at the sorority, Rose was already standing outside, wearing a skin tight white dress. She definitely looked good, with her hair out and moving slightly with the wind. Koby didn't bother stepping out of the car to let her in, but beeped the horn instead and she climbed in herself after checking the front door was locked. They drove in dead silence, Rose trying to place her hand on Koby's thigh every so often. But he kept brushing her away. He was clearly in a foul mood and not to be messed with, but Rose was more determined than that. When they parked outside the huge shopping centre, Rose leaned over the middle of the car and planted a kiss on Koby's lips, "Lighten up, sweetheart," She purred, tracing her hand down his chest and then hopped out of the car. This didn't change Koby's mood, but it motivated him to hurt Rayna again.

They made their way upstairs and soon found Jake and Rose standing in each other's arms, seeming to discuss movie options and dinner options. Koby clutched onto Rose's hand "May as well make it look good," He muttered more to himself than to Rose, who didn't really seem to notice. They approached the couple before them, forced smiles across their faces. "Jake, Rayna." Koby greeted them through gritted teeth. Koby was speechless by the beauty his best friend held, and how downright betrayed he felt by her. His hurt was covered by revenge and hurt to be caused. "What movie have we settled on?" He asked, trying hard not to meet Rayna's eyes. "Breaking Dawn part two," Jake replied, clearly trying not to groan. Rose squealed at Koby's side. "Girls choice," Koby shrugged. They then all lined up for their tickets.

What a gentleman She sighed. He was perfect for her. Always thinking of her first. "How about breaking dawn part two?" She suggested, with a guilty grin. She hadn't seen it yet and was dying to see it. She was open to to hers but if Jake said yes she wouldn't fight about it. He reluctantly agreed as she slid her hand into his. Moving the hair from her face she saw Koby and Rose coming up from the escalators. Eeew. She clutched Jake's hand tighter as they came closer. "Jake, Rayna." Koby greeted them through gritted teeth. Rayna gave a courtesy smile as they headed to the lines for tickets.

As they entered the cinema, she was still holding onto Jake for dear life. She knew if she showed any doubt in their relationship she might just cuddle up to Koby. and that was not an option. They all sat down with Rayna and Koby in the middle. Strategically planned by Jake so they could "get along". Jake leaned over and kissed her as they sat down, "Want any snacks?" She rubbed his fore arm, "Maybe just a cherry slurpee?" He nodded and walked off. Then Rayna looked over at Koby and Rose. Immediately Koby placed his hand on Rose's thigh. She cringed and put her hands on her lap. Trying not to stare, and show the jealousy in her eyes.

Koby was content on not looking at Rayna in the eyes, especially where it was almost dark, where anything could happen and nobody would see, unless they were looking really hard. He placed his hand on Rose's thigh for comfort, and to remind him that she's now not his. But he did speak to her, once again through gritted teeth, "Is he that important to you, Rayna?" He whispered once Jake left to fetch her a drink. "Because if he is, and you screw him over, remember, he's my best friend," Koby placed his arm on the arm rest between them, their forearms touching, "And you won't come back to him ever again," Koby didn't mean it as a threat, but more of a warning and a slight insult. "You're not good enough for him, and you know it," His comments were poisonous, flying out like darts in search for Rayna's reaction. But she didn't move, nor did she reply. She kept her calm. "I'll give you credit for that though," Koby brought up, "You can definitely throw a hit," Koby laughed genuinely, turning his head to look at her. That was when it hit him.

He fell silent, lost again in the innocence of her eyes. He saw hatred and regret, probably hurt too but more ignorance in the current situation. He knew he'd lost her this time. Lost her to his best friend. How stupid was he that one night at the sorority? "Remember who held you, Rayna," Koby muttered before Jake came back and sat down beside her, placing an arm around her shoulder, "How's everybody holding up?" Jake smiled brightly. The opening previews played on the audiences faces, quietening those who spoke. Koby's hand rose higher up Rose's leg, Rose holding onto Koby's hand. She gave him a long, deep kiss before the movie started. Koby's forearm was still touching Rayna's and drove him into a fluster of emotions, a spark sitting right between them. He wanted to get down on his knees and apologise, and ask her to come back. But that was the last thing on his agenda for her.

With all the chatter she realized something. Koby was good with words. He knew exactly what to say and do to get what he wanted. A reaction, some action, or a sassy reply. But she was so not going to freak out at him. It was just part of who he was, being a jerk and all. But her eyes couldn't hide how much those little comments hurt her. He put his arm right by hers, which sent tingles down her spine. "Remember who held you, Rayna," Koby muttered before Jake came back and sat down beside her, placing an arm around her shoulder, "How's everybody holding up?" Jake smiled brightly. She then gave him a long kiss, to prove she was definitely with Jake. But something was pulling her closer to Koby. She was leaning over onto Jake's shoulder as her hand began to twitch. Her arm slightly moving, and with every arm hair brushing his, she felt this strong spark. She tried to make it casual as she readjusted and her hand "accidentally" landed a bit on his. Her pinky and his almost linked. But she kept her eyes on the screen, not making eye contact with the boy sitting next to her, that was driving her mad.

Koby's face almost froze as Rayna's hand was almost on top of his, their pinky's almost intertwining. Koby controlled the blush that wanted to rule his composure, but he was well disciplined to not let silly emotions show. A smirk crossed his face when he saw in the corner of his eye how Rayna was trying to desperately to claim Jake. For some odd reason, it was so much more easier for Koby. His hand that was on Rose's thigh climbed even higher before she let out a sigh saying to watch it or else they'll get caught. Koby rolled his eyes, stifling a laugh. His arm beside Rayna's grew warm from the tension between them. His fingers slightly crawled underneath hers, trying to link their hands like they usually would have so naturally. But Rayna flicked them away, a small unnoticable movement to anybody but them. Koby cleared his throat, looking at Rayna who was looking up at him. The tension between them could have been visible in the air, the electricity that was trying to overcome their needs. He looked back up at the screen that opened the beginning of Breaking Dawn. His hand soon found it's way underneath Rayna's again. Koby looked discreetly to his left to see what Jake was doing, but he was completely fixated on the movie.

With his hand sliding under hers, it felt so right and so wrong. So she flicked it away, trying to lean more on Jake. Koby cleared his throat as she gave him a desirable look. She couldn't help it. She missed the good Koby she had at her house those nights before. But he had changed, and she knew Jake was perfect for her. Then she felt Koby's hand move under hers again, letting her fingers fall in the spaces between his. She looked back over to Jake who was still engaged in the movie. With her empty hand she took a sip of her slurpee and gave Koby a "we shouldn't be doing this" look. But yet, she didn't move her hand away. It was during the middle of the movie she moved her hand, she felt too guilty and instead she wrapped her arms around Jake. Jake appreciating this and giving her a quick peck. Rayna was done looking at Koby, even with his jerk tendencies, he was still irresistible.

Koby noted the look Rayna gave him, but he knew too well that he was definitely on her mind, and she wanted him back. He smirked when she sipped her drink, and once again when she moved her hand away. He sighed a little as Jake kissed the girl that was supposedly his for a day. Was that all it had been? Just a one day thing? Did she just want the attention? Koby looked over at Rose who was nibbling her thumbnail, her free hand caressing Koby's inner thigh. He grimaced and flicked away her hand roughly. Rolling her eyes, she slumped back in her seat, arms folded across her chest. Koby almost laughed because of how serious she took him. But his eyes never stayed too long on the screen before him. Not only because it was boring, but because he was so fixated on the girl beside him; the girl he could not have. With their arms still touching, Koby knocked her arm off playfully, grabbing Jake's attention, who only frowned and shrugged. A few minutes passed when Koby dropped his arm beside Rayna's, playing with her fingers underneath the arm rest where their hands could not been seen. It was the old Koby that was burning for the feelings he felt the night of the storm. He wanted the other Rayna back too. His fingers trailed around the top of her hand before settling underneath her palm, grasping tightly onto her fingers that were intertwined with his.

Rayna was freaking out. She was in the middle and was being pulled from both sides. She felt Koby knocking off her arm again, this time grabbing Jake's attention. But she felt like laughing. Jake knew nothing and she didn't know if she should tell him or not. She dropped her hand, she was done with games. Koby wasn't. He started fiddling with her fingers, sending her goose bumps all over, making Jake put his arm around her for "warmth". Then Koby settled with holding her hand. She didn't know what to do. She was conflicted.

The movie ended and she pulled her hand away faster than a cheetah in full sprint. She let Jake kiss her cheek as all of them got up to get their things. She glanced at Koby who was staring at her. What did I just do.. With a sigh, the group walked out of the theater and into their cars. "See, wasn't that bad? Think you'll be able to endure a dinner with him?" Jake said as he began to back out of the parking space. She half smiled, "yea.." Then she left it at that until they got to the restaurant. Rayna and Jake were seated by the waiter, as they had arrived first, and waited for the other "couple" that would join them.

Koby and Rose lingered behind at the cinema for a few minutes before leaving to Koby's car. It was lightly spitting rain outside, sticking to their hair. Koby held Rose's car door open for her to let her inside, the most gentleman thing he has done by far that night. He then got in the car and drove to their next destination. The whole drive he was freaking out about dinner. Was he sitting next to Rose again? He really wanted to sit next to Jake this time, instead of Rayna. Maybe the girls should sit together to get to know each other further? Koby's thoughts were in a fluster as he pulled into the restaurant parking, pulling up next to Jakes car. Koby let Rose get out by herself, walking in without her but she trailed after him like a puppy.

Inside, the restaurant was fairly high class. Koby felt lucky to pick out the clothes he found. The evening sun was flowing in through the windows, lighting up the large room. There were windows from the ceiling to the floor, white, silk curtains framing them. The tables and chairs were all elegant in design, a mahogany against cream tiles. Koby was quite surprised at the choice of the restaurant. What was Jake trying to prove to Rayna? Koby wasn't angry, not yet. But this was quite off the railing for a first date... for either of the couples.

Rose finally caught up to Koby after Koby had spotted Jake and Rayna at the podium, finding their already reserved seats. Jake had motioned to Koby to just follow after saying their names to the host. Jake pulled out a seat for Rayna to sit on, Jake sitting beside her. Rose was already sitting down next to Jake before Koby had the chance to pull out a chair, so he ended up sitting next to Rayna again. He could not endure another half an hour of this. He could not endure just one simple dinner, watching her be with his best friend even when she knew. But no, Jake didn't know. Jake had no clue that they knew each other, or better yet, even knew they had been together. If only he had gone to that party. Jake cleared his throat, breaking the awkward silence that had fallen on their table. He picked up one of the very fancy menu's before him and turned to Rayna, "What are you getting?" He asked, his voice quiet, as if not to disturb any other customers around him. Koby looked at Rose, not bothering to listen to Rayna's response. It seems Rose had already chosen her meal, waiting neatly with her legs folded and her arms on the table. "What are you getting?" Koby muttered. Rose daintily picked up her menu and pointed to her choice. Ugh, seafood... Rose smiled at Koby's distaste. He wasn't feeling rather hungry, if anything he had no appetite but he had chosen a simple meat dish of steak and vegetables.

"So, how did we enjoy the movie?" Jake asked, innocently trying to create small talk. Koby resisted the urge to smirk as he said cooly, "Quite...touching. How sad that this was the last movie of the series," poison moved through his words. The words could almost be felt darting through the air towards Rayna before Jake replied, "Eh, it was too sappy for me," He shrugged it off, smiling and grabbing Rayna's hand on top of the table. "Well I thought it was so romantic," Rose sighed, placing her head on top of her hands. Rayna remained silent, looking quite pale in the midst of things. Maybe it was the light? Was that a tint of anger at the corner of her lips? Those lips. Koby would do anything to feel them against his own again. His hands were under the table, and he could feel the almost visible electricity between them as they sat side by side. He had to resist the sensations and instinct to place his hand on her knee. They were sitting all to close at the rounded table, they were sure to all notice.

"So, Rayna," Koby began, his voice sounding like venom. Her name sent a sensation running up and down his spine. "Have you chose an actual meal? Or a salad?" The question clearly a jab at her small, well-kept figure. A smirk was plastered all across his face. He looked at Rose for support but found none. She was frowning, and this was odd. "I think she should choose to a salad...she doesn't want anything else going to her hips," Ah, so Rose was still on Koby's side. The back up of her comment sent red colours flushing up Jake's face. "You two..." He sneered, shaking his head. "Why do you have to be rude?" He asked rhetorically. Koby shrugged simply. Rayna was looking at her hands that were now sitting in her lap. "It was a joke, Jake. Chill," Koby shrugged too, sighing. Jake rolled his eyes, "It wasn't funny, Koby. Cut it out" Silence fell among the table again, but it wasn't awkward. It was tension. Whether it was between Koby and Jake, Koby and Rayna, Rose and Rayna...or simply all four of them, when the waiter came to gather their orders, his eyes were darting around like flies, sweat breaking across his pimpled face.

"Quite...touching. How sad that this was the last movie of the series," Rayna's eyes widened as she tried not to make a face. She knew he was pushing it. He was always pushing a bit too far. She couldn't hear the conversation anymore. Her mind was rerunning the movie situation, with what if's and should'a, could'as. She looked to her lap as she fiddled with edges of her dress. "So, Rayna," Koby began, snapping her back to reality. "Have you chose an actual meal? Or a salad?" Rayna clenched the chair, but tried to keep her face calm. She wanted them to get along, I mean, Jake was his best friend. "I think she should choose to a salad...she doesn't want anything else going to her hips," Rose chimed in. Rayna was fully enraged. I'm pretty sure Koby liked this body a few weeks ago... Rayna sat up straight and figured she'd take it like a man. With Jake sticking up for her it was easier for her to act strong. "It was a joke, Jake. Chill," Jake rolled his eyes, "It wasn't funny, Koby. Cut it out" Rayna reached her hand across the table, "It's fine.. It doesn't really bother me.." But Jake wouldn't take that for an answer. He was about to start yelling when the waiter came back. "Alright, do you guys know what you're ordering?" He said with an Australian accent. They all ordered, Rayna didn't get a salad, and when he left they were dead silent.

Then Rayna got up. She didn't really think it through, but she was standing, looking at all of them who were looking at her. "I'm going to the washroom.." She walked off, making sure not to trip in her heels. She was very clumsy when she was nervous or stressed. In the bathroom she made some funny faces in the mirror and tried to cheer herself up. But she wasn't happy. And no number of silly faces could fix it. As she walked back to the table Rose glared at her. Rayna glared back. She wanted to say Hey Rose, go suck a dick. Oh wait... You probably will tonight.. I guess you can wait. But Rayna had enough self control to just sit back down like the pretty girl she was. Once their meals had arrived everyone began to eat. The awkward was gone, all that was left was the hunger. But Rayna was still stressing and she only nibbled at her plate. She felt Koby's eyes look over and smirk. "Told you she should have gotten the salad..." Koby laughed at his "joke". But Jake was done. Jake pushed back from the table, "Are you done? Cause I'm done with your bull shit Koby. You are being a jerk to this beautiful girl that I really like. So shut up. This date was for you two to get along and at least that's what Rayna has been trying to do. But you are being an insensitive jerk." Rayna could see how red Jake's face was. He was more offended than her. "It's really fine.. I'm not that offended.. People say stuff like this all the time.." Rayna was cut off by Jake, "No. Just no. I don't care. You should be pissed right off. Koby has been picking on you all night and I'm sick of it." Jake got up and took out his wallet. He threw some bills on the table and began to walk out. Rayna, who was still at the table, slowly and awkwardly got up and started walking away. "Thanks for the great date... Let's do it again sometime, alright?" Rayna smiled with sarcasm as she grabbed her purse and went to meet Jake in the car.

The tension of Jake's anger was inescapable in the car. It heated his skin, flushed his face and made his grip tight on the steering wheel, causing his knuckles to turn white. His eyes stayed focused on the road, only rarely he looked at Rayna's face, which was always looking down at her hands. Jake sighed deeply, they were still almost fifteen minutes away from her home. "I'm sorry about tonight...Koby is-" "Hard to handle?" Rayna filled him in. Jake only nodded, pursing his lips tightly together. His eyes were narrowed and fixated on the road before him that had become slippery from the slight drizzle of rain. Jake felt Rayna's innocent eyes on him, watching his every move. It didn't bother him, but what did was how she could simply brush off the insults from the horrible couple back at the restaurant.

He moved a free hand to rest on her thigh, "I'm sorry," he said again. "I should have handled it better.." He trailed off, circling his fingers on her knee. He felt her hand land on top of his, even though it felt so out of place, it was the only comfort offered. They soon arrived outside of the sorority, no sign of Rose being dropped off yet as all the lights were still out. Jake pulled up as close to the castle as possible before letting Rayna out of the car and walking her up to the front door in silence. Anger still rested on his skin and in his veins. How could Koby be so mean? Rayna opened the front door and turned to wave Jake off. Jake leaned down and pulled her close to him, holding her tightly before pulling back and planting a kiss on her lips that was more rough than usual. Probably out of anger, but it seemed like something more than that.

Without any goodbye, Jake walked back to the car leaving Rayna standing by the door watching him leave. He soon got home and went to bed.

"I should have handled it better.." He trailed off, circling his fingers on her knee. She put her hand over his. She knew it was hard, hearing horrible things about the one you loved. Well if he did love her. She unbuckled as he pulled up to the house. she could tell he was ashamed but still filled with anger. Rayna opened the front door and turned to wave Jake off. Jake leaned down and pulled her close to him, holding her tightly before pulling back and planting a kiss on her lips that was more rough than usual. She watched him drive off as she went inside. Rayna wasn't sure if she liked that kiss or what she thought of it but she knew he needed time to cool off. She walked to her room and closed the door. She had had enough for one night. Now, as she lay in her bed, all she could think about was Koby.

Friday morning Rayna didn't even get out of bed. She ended up missing her morning classes, then skipping the others for a photo shoot. Around 10am she heard Rose come home, Rayna ignored her existence completely. She probably had a really nice night with Koby. Those two are partners in crime. By the time she got home, all she wanted was a cute text from Jake. She imagined him coming over with chocolates and cuddling up with her. But he wasn't there, nor were there any sweet texts, like usual. Maybe I should go check on him.. Things had kind of been left off on a rocky point last night. No thanks to Koby and his hoe. Last night had really been a disaster. Rayna decided to grab her purse and headed towards Jake's place. She needed some fresh air anyways. Hopefully he'd be willing to talk and she could help him recover from the blow out between him and his best friend.

"Pour me, pour me...pour me another, holds me, holds me, like no other. One more drink...ergh..." Red rims framed Jake's eyes, a bottle of JD sitting right by his side. Not even a cup there to pour the alcohol into, and it was pure, straight liquid of burning sins. A smile crept to his lips as the song continued as he thought of the last time he had been this drunk. Hell, it was barely even four in the afternoon. A knock was directed from behind him, his head too blurry to tell. "Go away!" His voice was slurred. Another knock sounded, causing a frown to appear on his face. "Ugh..leave me..." He said as he raised the bottle to let the alcohol pour down his throat. Another knock, more frantic than the last. Jake rolled his eyes, wobbling to a stand from the stool that was placed by the counter. He wobbled over to the front door, opening it with his free hand, JD in his other.

He was shirtless and wearing the sweat pants he was wearing a few nights before. He reeked off alcohol, but it didn't bother him none, he couldn't tell. He squinted his eyes at the visitor before him, leaning closely to identify the person. "Hah, Rayna!?" He said, surprised. "What are you doing here?" He muttered, his voice slurred and hoarse. He cleared his throat, placing an arm around Rayna's shoulders, bringing her inside the house. "Sorry, if I knew you were coming..." Jake lost his track of thought, "Want somethin' to eat?" He raised an eyebrow over drowsey looking eyes. He took a swig from the bottle in his hand, breathing in deeply. "I haven't eaten yet..." He muttered. "Look at ya! You look so..." His voice trailed off as he walked back over to his seat, placing his head in his hands.

She looked at the boy she was "falling for". It was disgusting. But who wouldn't be a mess after what happened? "What are you doing here?" He muttered, his voice slurred and hoarse. "Just coming to check on you babe..." She stepped inside as the aroma of alcohol filled her nostrils. Drinking? This early? He placed an arm around her, Want somethin' to eat?" He raised an eyebrow over drowsey looking eyes. He took another drink as she reluctantly walked with him. This reminded her of her father. It was scary to think of him, or be near anyone who could be like him. She watched him go back over to the counter and sit down. She looked worried for his well being. For her well being. "I think you've had enough to drink... Why are you drinking in the middle of the day?" She put her hand on his shoulder only to be knocked off by a shrug. She really didn't know how to handle the situation.

She tried to gently take the bottle but his grasp was firm. "Don't. I need it." Then she really began to fret. She sat next to him as he struggled to lift his head up. "I just can't believe someone I thought I knew so well... He acted like such a jerk... I thought we were friends!" He slammed his empty hand on the table, frightening Rayna. "Why don't we just lay down? You look like you should sleep this off?" Jake then turned to her and pulled her in for a kiss. It was gross and had no effort. She pulled back immediately. "What? You don't like my kisses, sweet lips?" She closed her eyes, trying to figure out what to say to her slob of a boyfriend. "Please... Just stop... You're freaking me out Jake..."

"Please... Just stop... You're freaking me out Jake..." Jake frowned at those words, "How?" His nose twisted into a confused expression. "Let's go lay down then," He said, smiling. He pulled her up to her feet along with him. He clutched to his bottle tightly as if he were to part with it, he'd die. He grabbed Rayna's hand firmly, not sure whether or not she would struggle or fret. He fixated his gaze onto the stairs, making sure to take each step with care. Once they reached to the top, he opened up his door, letting Rayna walk in first. He took another swig of his drink before sitting down on his bed, placing the bottle down and laying back. "Come here bub," Jake motioned Rayna to come lay her head on his chest. She reluctantly did so, but went unnoticed by Jake. He closed his eyes, stroking Rayna's side.

As Rayna got comfy moving her legs into a comfortable position, Jake grabbed her hand and kissed her finger tips lightly, breathing heavily, his eyes drooping. "Hmm, you're beautiful," He mumbled, sounding incoherent. Jake pulled Rayna' hand lightly to lift her arm over his chest to bring her on top of his chest, so that she was looking down on him. A goofy smile appeared his lips, a sigh escaping them. "So, Rayna.." Jake hinted as he kissed under her neck. The effect of the alcohol had long set in, enraging his senses and sensations and desires that needed to be filled. He trailed a kiss down her neck reaching her collar bone then turned her over so he was holding his weight above her. "When can we," - He stopped talking to grab her hand - "Take this to the next level?" He raised an eyebrow, a smirk almost identical to Koby's crossing his face as he guided her hand to his inner thigh.

She usually like being this close to him. But something felt wrong. He kissed her as she tried to keep calm. But this wasn't Jake. "When can we," - He stopped talking to grab her hand - "Take this to the next level?" Rayna was disgusted. She couldn't believe Jake had just said that. She was almost giving up hope. Every guy who had seemed nice at first, were all just pigs. Rayna pushed Jake off of her. she knew the alcohol had been affecting him big time but she would not just "let it slide". "Jake... You need some rest. Talk to me when you're not drunk" She stormed out of the room and sat on the stairs. Crying and crying, Rayna was yet again fooled by a dog in shining armor. Looking outside at the rain, she didn't want to walk home. She didn't want to move. But she was alone, in her drunk, unworthy boyfriends house. He'd be back to normal later, she thought. But she knew that he was having a break down. She didn't know who to call. Everyone was busy, Fionna at work, and no one else to call. But she knew Koby would come. Even though he mocked her and tried to hurt her, he would come. She walked to the table where Jake had been drinking, and lucky enough, picked up his phone. She looked through his contacts but no Koby. Instead he found a Asshole who used to be my best friend and decided to call up the number. She tried to cover her sobs, "Hey Koby... It's Rayna," She wiped her eyes and took a deep breath. Suddenly she heard some light thunder. "Could you come pick me up? I'm at Jake's house... And... Well I need you..."

Rayna got out of the car as it sped away. She never said she was going to forgive him. She never said she'd take him back. She said she needed to talk to him. Rayna was just flustered by Koby's easily changeable moods. She walked up to the door and knocked hard. Waiting outside, she saw Jake open the door. He looked... disappointed? "Why'd Koby drive you here?" He said bluntly. She looked at her feet. She felt like she was being interrogated, but it's probably because she hadn't told him about her relationship with Koby. "Can I come inside..?" He walked her inside, with a hand on her hip. Once they both sat down, Rayna told him everything. She told him about the night during the storm, the party and the night before. He seemed shocked but not upset. "So that's why there was so much tension..." She nodded. "But I didn't even know you knew Koby, let alone he was your best friend, when we met up at that pizza place. My feelings are genuine and I don't want to lose you... that is if what happened last night doesn't happen again." And by last night she meant both parties. He then pulled her up to him and she kissed him, cupping his face with her hands. But the same passion wasn't there. Maybe it's from being honest and letting out the secrets. But the kiss didn't feel right. She sat on top of him as he pushed the hair from her face. "Are you okay?" He said. He was obviously talking about the storm, "I'm sorry... It won't happen again.." He admitted. She smiled and kissed him one more time. Still no spark

Jake rubbed Rayna's back as she sat in his lap, their foreheads touching. There was a sort of feeling in the air of uncertainty that went by undetected by Jake. His mind kept wondering back to the night before, how he had treated Rayna and what he had tried to make her do. His thoughts led him back to where Rayna left him, and how Koby had dropped her off. "Rayna?" A question already forming in his voice. "So, what happened last night between you and Koby?" Jake's eyes narrowed slightly at the taste of his friends name on his tongue. He was trying to imagine them together; Koby's cruel, teasing nature along the guarded, loving Rayna. It just didn't seem like a puzzle pieces to match.

"So, what happened last night between you and Koby?" Jake's eyes narrowed slightly, making Rayna nervous. She knew nothing physically happened, but her emotions definitely had been affected. "Nothing.. He was just holding me during the storm.. " She didn't dare mention the kiss on the forehead. She knew that would break him. Rayna was rubbing his hand as she tried to scooch closer to him. Not that she could get much closer, but she felt like they weren't connecting. "Want to go out for brunch?" Jake said with a smile. What a perfect smile. "Sure" Rayna got up as he led her out to the car. "Oh.. Can I go home and change first? I'm still wearing what I wore yesterday.." Being the girl she was, very convincing, Jake started heading towards the sorority.

Koby pulled up to the sorority, anger occupying his thoughts, controlling each and every one of his movements. His body was rigid, his fluid movements firm. A scowl was worn upon his face as he knocked and opened the sorority door, his aim to find Rose. "Hello?" A voice came in the direction of the kitchen, a figure appearing in the entrance to the room. Koby raised an eyebrow as he noted the shorts and bra Rose was wearing. Rose smiled at his expression, "I thought I was going to be home alone today," She purred across the room. "Why would you think that?" Koby countered, a smirk lighting up his features as he crossed the room slowly. Rose crossed her arms over her chest, stepping back slowly towards the kitchen, playing along with his game. "Well, I didn't expect a visitor," Rose pursed her lips, a smile playing on the curves of her mouth, enticing Koby to come and get her. Koby closed the space between them in four quick, long strides and Rose was in his arms, up against the counter before she had a chance to protest.

Koby's lips came crashing down on her's, urgent and desperate. His hands were exploring her body just as much as hers. He picked her up from underneath her thighs, placing her on the counter, pressing their bodies tighter together until there was no space. Koby trailed kisses down her neck, to her collar bone and landing just before her cleavage began before a knock at the open door behind them sounded, interrupting their actions.

Rayna jumped out of the car, "Just wait here. I won't be more than a few minutes!" She scurried inside and upstairs to her room. It was exactly the way she left it, and it felt more like home now. She slipped into her favorite jeans and a baggy sweater. She wanted to feel comfortable and get out of the clothes that smelled like Koby. She needed to commit herself to one boy. Whether she liked it or not. As Rayna walked downstairs she heard a faint noise. As she walked towards the kitchen she heard fumbling and the sucking of faces. Gross. Get a room. She turned the corner but no one was there. Following the sounds she then ended up in the living room where she saw Koby on top of the house slut. Rayna gasped out loud making them slow down, but never stop. She covered her mouth as she ran out the door and back into the car with Jake. "Ready to go?" He said sarcastically, "I thought you were just going to be a few minutes!" She gave him a fake smile as he started the engine. "Sorry, it's a girl thing." She put her hand on his knee, "So where to?"

Over the next couple of weeks, Koby concentrated more on his units and less on the troubles around him. Jake had become more distant, sitting away from him or maybe not even turning up at all which surprised Koby to no end. Koby stayed up many late nights drinking, regretting it every morning. Each weekend he'd go to pick up Rose on Friday nights and she spent the weekend at his house. Koby had started to form a new kind of bond with Rose, liking her even. They had seen a couple of movies, even went out to dinner a couple of nights during the week. Slowly though, Koby could see the girl behind the sex object image she had created for herself. That girl was shy, caring, and nervous once genuine feelings came into play.

Koby hadn't seen or heard of Rayna over the past month. Rose hadn't even said anything about her. What? Had Rayna just mysteriously disappeared? Or did she move in with Jake all of a sudden? They hadn't seen each other since their last encounter at the sorority, the last day they spoke and Koby ripped into her with his words. He was still angry at her, but he missed her still the same if not more than usual. Sometimes he imagined that Rose was Rayna, but it was never the same. The touch, the nervousness and the uncertainty - it had made their relationship special. But because Rose was overly confident and knew she was beautiful, it came off putting to Koby sometimes. The two girls were becoming a mess in his head, the less he saw Rayna. It scared him to think he was losing his best friend too. They hadn't spoken in almost month. There were no texts, no calls, nothing that showed he still cared. But that went the same for Koby. He didn't call or text either. They were both just as stubborn as the other.

But on Sunday night, Koby was laying on his bed with his arms behind his head and Rose laying with her head on his chest. They weren't sleeping, they weren't even talking. They were laying together in simple silence. Thoughts were running wildly through Koby's mind about his actions and what he had possibly lost. He sat up a little, nudging Rose as he did. Rose looked up at his face, a humph escaping her lips. "I should call Jake," Koby said quietly, his face close to hers. Rose nodded. She had come to terms on how important Jake was to him, and even how important Rayna was to him. She accepted those facts, but also loved that even though he though of Rayna, she was the one in his arms and not her. Rose kissed him lightly on the lips before leaving his bedroom so he could call his friend.

"Jake?"
"Yeah."
"It's Koby," A slight groan came from the other side of the phone.
"What do you want?" Jake's voice wasn't harsh, but it wasn't welcoming either. Koby sighed internally.
"I just wanted to talk. Can we meet up?" Koby's voice was sincere, long gone from the hatred and anger that fueled him a month before. A click ended the phone call, no response had come from Jake; not until an hour later when he texted "Come around tomorrow afternoon at 4 before Rayna comes over" and that was that.

Rayna spent most of her nights at Jake's place during the last month. After walking in on Rose and Koby, she felt unwelcome. With her head held high, Rayna got to know Andrew better, and spent a lot of time with Jake. But he never pushed her the way he did that one night. Jake had promised to keep off the alcohol while Rayna was away, which made her feel a lot safer. At school she was being buried alive in projects. She liked how artsy-fartsy they were, but it was a lot to take on. She had been getting a lot more shoots, almost 2 a week. Her name was getting pretty big, doing a shoot for Coco Chanel really put her on the list of must haves. Even though things seemed to be turning up, Rayna felt like something was missing. She knew what it was but didn't want to admit it to herself. She was missing Koby. The guy who was just as outrageous, spontaneous and unstable as she was. Every time he crossed her mind she'd pinch herself. She couldn't let the thought of him ruin her relationship with Jake.

Sunday morning Rayna woke up next to Jake. A sober, non head ache, Jake. "Good morning beautiful" He said as he shifted so he was over top of her. He kissed her neck and she giggled with delight. "Shhh... Andrew's probably still sleeping!" Rayna pointed to the door. But he kept kissing, "You say that every morning, but he doesn't seem to mind," She laughed some more, ending up on top of him. She sat over his abs, beginning to kiss his neck. They had been living in this puppy dog love for about a month now. She knew it wouldn't last forever, but it was definitely the best part of the relationship so far. So I have a photo shoot in an hour... Want to drive me?" She winked at him playfully. She knew he hated driving her places, but what was he going to say? No?

Rayna was just finishing off the shoot when she saw her phone buzz. Nude shoot tomorrow. Be prepared!" She cringed at the thought. She had never done a nude shoot and debated in her mind whether or not she should. First off would Jake be okay with it? Rayna read it again and again, finally realizing it was from Vogue. [i]The Vogue magazine. There wasn't a question about it. She was doing the shoot. On her bus ride home, Rayna decided to take out her sketch book. She seemed to be bringing it everywhere now since she had gotten so many ideas when she wasn't home. She began to draw the bus from pure memory of when she got on. When it was her stop, she closed the unfinished piece of art and began to walk to Jake's. She knew he wasn't home, he was working with Andrew on a film project, out on a beach somewhere. But using the spare key he gave her, she got into the house with ease. Placing her bag down, she decided to keep practicing video gaming.

Later that night when Jake came home Rayna decided she would make dinner. She cooked for about an hour and ended up making toast. Jake laughed, "That's cute... Let's get pizza okay?" She crossed her arms. She spent so much time making it. But she agreed since she was pretty famished as well. After calling in their orders, they watched an episode of Community. Cuddling and laughing was always her favorite pass time with Jake. She looked at the time, it had already been 25 minutes. "I'm going to pick up the pizza, k?" She kissed him softly as she grabbed her keys and drove off to the pizza place.

The next day went by like a breeze. Jake still sat away from Koby in their lecture room together, but he at least said hi as they entered the dome shaped room. Short presentations were shown as exemplars for their soon expected assessment pieces. Koby hadn't even started simply because he felt no motivation to. But he was keen, almost excited for the afternoon to meet up with Jake and talk things out. He didn't know what time Rayna would be over to Jake's, so Koby had no clue if he were limited for time or not, but he wouldn't let that get to him.

Koby showered once he got home and had nothing to do before heading over to Jake's house again. It was barely even one in the afternoon. The morning lecture only went for two hours. Koby sighed, wondering around his house, thinking of things he could do while he waited. He knew he should start the presentation that was due in two weeks time, but motivation escaped him, leaving him with endless thoughts of empty ideas. He walked over to the kitchen, picking up his phone. He wondered briefly what Rose might be up to. He shrugged, flicking through his contacts and selecting her number, calling her. "What's up?" Her voice answered. "Bored. Should be seeing Jake in three hours, but I have time to kill. Wanna come over?" Koby asked, leaning against the counter of the kitchen. He could almost hear her contemplating through the phone, but silence was all that he received. "Rose? Everything alright?" A sigh came through as response, "Yeah, everything is fine. Just freaking out over some assignments due. Yeah, I'll be over in fifteen," And the click of the phone signaled the ended phone call.

Rose came over for the afternoon, filling Koby's afternoon up by chatting away about her assignments and what him and Jake were to talk about. Koby already felt overwhelmed and became anxious to see his friend again. It was only half past three when he decided it was time to start heading over. Rose kissed his forehead as they departed their ways in their vehicles.

Koby arrived at Jake's house early, knocking on his front door, waiting patiently. "Coming!" He heard. A figure opened the door, but it was Andrew who answered. "Ah, Koby...I'll go get him..." Andrew didn't seem to surprised to see Koby, even maybe a little disappointed. Koby walked inside the familiar apartment into the lounge room and took up "his" seat. Jake soon walked into the lounge room and greeted him. "What did you need to talk to me about?" He asked, curious. His arms were folded against chest. Koby frowned by the sudden coldness that Jake had towards him. "I thought we could sort this out?" Koby prompted, gesturing his hands inbetween himself and Jake, hopefully giving Jake the hint. Jake nodded, "Hmm," He stood, staring down at Koby with silence. Koby assumed he was to make the first move.

"So, did Rayna-"

"Rayna told me everything," Jake cut Koby off. "Why didn't you just tell me! Why couldn't you have made this easy for yourself and just told me? We wouldn't have been in this situation if you didn't just tell me!" Jake hissed through gritted teeth. He never yelled, and this time wasn't an exception. His voice was quiet and low, words slivering through his teeth. Koby shrugged.

"You were happy," Koby said genuinely, looking his friend in the eye. Jake sighed, a groan following after it. His arms fell by his side in despair, falling back into the chair behind him.

"That's besides the point. You were so wound up by this girl, you were angry," Jake began, but Koby shook his head, cutting him off.

"It doesn't matter now, man. I got Rose. I'm over Rayna," Koby struggled to finish his sentence, knowing how untrue it was. He was far from being over Rayna. "I want to sort us out," Koby smiled, the first real smile in a while. Jake sighed, a smile creeping upon his lips too.

"I'm sorry," Koby said, standing up, putting his hand out for a hand shake. Jake stood up too, taking Koby's hand in his, pulling him in for a manly embrace.

"I'm sorry too, bro," Jake said. They let go of each other in an awkward stance, this having been their first recovery over a girl. "You know you could have told me," Jake said, shaking a finger in front of his face at Koby. Koby laughed, "Nah, it doesn't matter now," He smiled. Glad they had resolved their issues so quickly even if it had taken a month of silence and five minutes of torture. This was something so easily solved with his best friend, why couldn't it be like that with Rayna?

When Rayna was trying to get the pizzas, there seemed to be a hassle with the cashier. She couldn't find their order. Rayna was definitely ticked off but waited patiently as they made her order for free. On the drive back she ate two slices, and stopped off at the super market to pick up some ice cream. She got a tub of chocolate chunk, she knew it was Jake's favorite. When she pulled up to the drive way she saw Koby's car. Her mind was going over board with flash backs and memories. Trying to think of something else she closed her eyes. But all she saw was Koby. But she was glad that Koby had made an effort to come over. She knew deep inside Jake wanted to be the bigger person, but she also could tell he was tired of trying for a friend who didn't care. Hopefully Koby's visit would cheer him up. Rayna finally got out of the car and used her hip to close the car door. She made her way up the steps and walked into the house. "Hey Jake I'm back! I also got your fav ice cream!" She put the bags down on the counter as she could hear video games going on in the next room. "Seems you to are back to," She started to say until she turned the corner. Seeing Koby for some reason made her speechless. Her eyes immediately identified the hickey on his neck and the way his hair was messy. She turned back around and went back to the kitchen to put the ice cream in the freezer.

Koby turned around to face the source of the voice he knew so well, that continued to play over and over in his head. As the feminine form turned around the corner into Koby's vision, a smile stretched across his face, but only too soon she walked into the kitchen. Koby frowned before looking back at the tv screen, finding he had died.

"I think this is where I go home..." Koby whispered to Jake, which earned him a sympathetic look from Jake.

"It's too awkward, I'll text you later," Koby compromised. Jake sighed but nodded, "Alright, catch ya later," Jake said before turning off the tv and the console. Jake walked Koby to the door, watching him drive off before closing the door and walked into the kitchen where Rayna was.

Jake crossed his arms over his chest, leaning against the wall in the kitchen eyeing Rayna in silence with curious eyes. He knew something was off. Rayna stood behind the kitchen counter, looking back at Jake with wide open eyes. "What?" She half giggled.

"What's going on?" Jake sighed before taking a seat at the counter. "I mean...what's going on between you two now," Jake was curious. He knew Koby too well, and had started to know Rayna better. He was too smart to let something like this slide. He raised an eyebrow, awaiting a response from Rayna. "Nothing," Her voice was quiet, her eyes staring back at him. Jake nodded, pursing his lips.

"Don't lie Rayna. At least tell me what's up," Jake lent back in the chair, putting out his hand to place Rayna on his lap. Jake could feel something out of the ordinary.

She was pulled onto his lap, she didn't want to talk. What was she to say? I think I still like your best friend? Well that wasn't an option. "Don't lie Rayna. At least tell me what's up," She sighed, straightening up a bit. "I guess... It's weird seeing him here..." She wasn't lying. Seeing him around was very weird. Part of the reason she spent so much time at Jake's was because he wasn't here. Now he was invading both of her spaces. "Weird..? Are you not okay with us being friends?" He sounded concerned yet irritated. She bit her lip, trying not to look at him. "It's just he's invading our space. I thought we were hanging out then he just shows up? Out of no where? And you just let him in?" Her voice grew louder at the end of each question. Jake looked away, "How can you be so selfish?" Then she gave him a look. She stared at him. Me? Selfish? She crossed her arms and got off his lap. "You made my friend leave so you could spend time with me. Seeing me 24 hours a day isn't enough? I haven't spent time with him forever!" She didn't know he was so passionate about his friendship. "I didn't make him leave.." Jake cut her off, "But you did!" Rayna them started to walk away. She grabbed her purse and went to the door. "Bye.." She said quietly as she headed home. She was done with his bullshit for today. She didn't want the argument to go any further and had a long day.

Jake glared at the door as it slammed shut after Rayna made her exit. He sat there in silence for a good while before hearing his phone from the other room. He knew it'd be Koby, but he figured he was too peeved to be bothered to go reply. I'll reply later, with that, he went over to the pizza's Rayna bought in and took a large mouthful before opening the refrigerator behind him. He looked at the black cans that he cradled when Rayna had first walked out on him. He considered the possibilities of her coming back that night before briskly picking up the can and took his pizza's up to his room. He quickly grabbed his phone before settling on one drink, a whole pizza, a movie and a few texts between himself and Koby.

"Rayna walked out, lol" Jake sent, forgetting the message from Koby. He frowned to open the message: "How's things?" It read. Jake shrugged; he sent more or less a reply. He eyed his TV, thinking about how far away it was from him before shifting his weight to sit up and turn it on. He flicked through channels before settling on some nonsense. He got another text from Koby:

"lol? uhh, why she walk out?" Koby glared at the message, a smirk playing on his lips. He sculled the rest of his can. Usually he would have called Rayna by now, apologising and asking if it would be okay to come by. But this time, he felt differently.

"Come over for a few drinks?" Jake sent Koby, ignoring the question. "Bring Rose if ya want, he added after a moments thought. What could hurt a few friends and some drinks? At least Rayna couldn't get mad at him for drinking with Koby. That was their past time. He wouldn't let her ruin that. "I guess. I'll be over in half an hour, gotta pick up Rose," Koby replied.

Koby arrived at Jake's with Rose's hand in his. It felt nice, almost right. He knew their relationship was based on comfort and sex more or less, but it didn't change his mind about the way he felt about her. If this was the way they felt comfortable, they may as well should make it work. As Koby got out of the car, he quickly pulled Rose in for a kiss, something that felt more real than the last time, something special. Rose pulled away, a small frown on her face. Koby smiled sheepishly, grabbing her hand walking inside, not bothering with knocking.

"I'm in here!" Jake called as he heard his front door open and close. He was sitting in the lounge room, cans of drink splayed out everywhere, he was playing his video game. "Hey! Started with out us?" Koby laughed, smirking. Jake raised an eyebrow and saw Rose, "Hey," He greeted her, and she nodded a response. Koby and Rose sat down on the couch, Rose sitting in between Koby's legs. He would nibble her neck every now and then, or stroke up collar bone. Jake passed around a few drinks, he was already on his third, and handed Rose and Koby their first. Music was started up, quietly, a small discussion about random, drunken things among them.

Suddenly, a knock was heard at the front door.

Rayna stood there rubbing her arm as the door opened. She had noticed Koby's car when she arrived so she wasn't surprised when he opened the door. "Is Jake still here?" She said, knowing well he was still present. But she was being polite and didn't want to go in a room uninvited. Koby looked back to his friend who gave him a lazy wave. Rayna walked in and took off her shoes. She immediately noticed all the beers on the table. I hope he didn't drink all those.. But Rayna was wrong. She walked over where the game on the tv was paused. "I'm sorry. I was being over protective and jealous. Forgive me?" Jake gave a smile and pulled her onto his lap. She then laughed as he turned the game back on. "Don't start without me!" Koby roared playfully as he picked up his controller and snuggled back up with Rose. Rayna laughed whenever Koby got killed and kissed Jake's neck between respawning.

Koby sighed a good hour and a half later as he threw down the controller. "Fair game, my man, a draw as always. But this is getting boring. How about we give the girls a try?" Koby raised an eyebrow as he looked at Rose, pulling her in as she giggled, kissing her lips, a smile still on his face. "I don't know how to play!" Rose complained. Koby laughed, "That's fine," He said as he pulled her down into his lap, in front of the tv.

Jake had already given Rayna his controlled, a smirk plastered on his face, his eyes drooping slightly. He placed his hands high up Rayna's thighs, massaging them as she took control of the game. Rose glared at the tv screen, finding difficulty in aiming and even moving. Koby laughed, shaking his head every so often, stopping to nibble her neck. "It's hard enough playing, I don't need you kissing me!" Rose yelled, peeved. This amused Koby, and Jake laughed as he held Rayna by the waist, kissing around her neck and down her collar bone. But she didn't seem to be distracted.

Eventually Rose was beat by Rayna at the end of the match. Rose growled, a sulk on her face, "Again," She pleaded before Rayna sighed, smiling, picking up the controller. "I'll get this, I bet ya," She swore.

Multiple beers later, video games wasn't working so well. Both girls had given up, leaving the score in Rayna's favor. They were now all laying on the couch cuddling amongst each other. "Wanna relive the old high school days?" Jake laughed. Rayna wasn't sure whether this was a good idea but the influence of alcohol said it was. "How about spin the bottle?" Koby joked, but Rose was on it. She took one of the bottles and put in on the floor where she sat. They all shifted into a circle, "Let the game begin!" Jake announced. "And may the odds be ever in your favor!" Rayna added, making them all chuckle.

Koby sat down on the ground, Rose next to him and Jake on the other side. It was still early in the evening and still a lot more drinking to be done. Andrew slightly crossed his mind, but his thought stopped there as Rose spun the bottle. It landed on Rose. Koby laughed, squeezing her hand. Rose spun it again, seeing as it landed on her. It landed on Koby. "Aww," Jake smirked, "Just a warm up," Koby winked at Rayna then kissed Rose roughly.

Koby spun it this time, the bottle landing on Jake. "Woo!" He said, spinning the bottle. It slowed down, suspense filling the room until it stopped. On. Koby. "No," Jake said stubbornly, Koby's eyes widening. Rose started laughing, Rayna pushing Jake forward, "Who's idea was this!? Just do it!" She laughed. Koby was shaking his head backing away. But the girls weren't letting it go. Jake sighed, grunted before taking a long swig from his can, "C'mon, brother," Jake glared at Koby. Koby couldn't even look him in the eye. His face crumpled in disgust. "Ugh," They both quickly pecked each other on the lips before turning away and wiping their lips.

"Aw, c'mon! That's not a kiss! Make it real!" Rose laughed. "No, no we aren't playing this anymore," Jake sulked. "It's easy, baby!" Rayna laughed. Rose turned to face Rayna, her eyes wide, "Easy?" Rose giggled before putting her hands either side of Rayna's face, pulling her lips to her's, her tongue exploring and feeling Rayna's. Koby's jaw dropped, Jake's eyes widened in shock.

"You guys could keep doing that instead of spin the bottle..." Jake said lowly, he eyes still wide. Koby nodded, "Yeah, I don't mind..." Koby backed him up. Rose pulled away, smirking. "Your turn," She said to the boys who's facial expressions mirrored disgust. They shook their heads. "Either you do it, or we'll leave you two," Rose threatened, smiling. Koby groaned, knowing Rose would leave. He looked at his best friend that he was meant to kiss. "Fine, but say this to anyone, and you'll be murdered," He growled. Jake's eyes were wide, "Wait, what! No!" He yelled as Koby's lips crushed his for a split second, and they pulled back.

Koby sat away from Jake in silence, the girls clapping and congratulating the boys. Jake shook his head and spun the bottle. This time, it landed on Rayna. Koby looked at Rayna as the bottle spun again. And, just once more, it landed on Koby. He frowned, looking at his drunken buddy who didn't really seem to care. "Um," He said as she scooted over to him. She looked in her eyes, almost feeling the same things he felt the first time they really kissed, but there was no spark. He lent in, cupping her face with his hand, the feeling too natural, and moves too romantic and his lips brushed hers before melting into them. Even in his drunken state, he couldn't get use to the feel.

Koby pulled away too soon and smirked.

Rayna didn't care for the girl on girl kiss. She wasn't half bad. Maybe Rayna was the bad one. "Your turn," Rose said to the boys who's facial expressions mirrored disgust. It was cute, but Rayna didn't think they'd actually do it. Then they kissed and Rayna's jaw dropped. She started clapping and laughing hysterically. Then Jake spun the bottle and it landed on her. She smiled and kissed him. It wasn't super intimate, but it meant something. Then Koby spun the bottle, this time landing on Rayna. Her face immediately turned red. She really hadn't expected it to land on her, just praying it wouldn't get awkward. But it was a game. It was all a game. She scooted over to him as he cupped her face in his hands. Instantly she felt a connection. More than with Jake. But Koby pulled away way too soon for her liking and they both smiled, acting as if it was just a game. Rayna looked over at Jake who didn't seem upset, though she knew he was too drunk to care at this point. "Why don't we do something else?" Rayna suggested. A dirty smile played across Rose's lips, "Seven. Minutes. In. Heaven." She stopped between words, smiling at the group.

It wasn't long before the bottle was spun. Rayna spun and it landed on Jake. Thank god.. She thought. She knew being alone in a room with Koby was not good. That measly kiss had brought back so much, she was scared she might ruin her relationship with Jake. They went into the hall closet, which was surprisingly quite roomy. She leaned up against him as they began to make out. But something was off. Jake wasn't holding her hips or putting his hand in her hair. Or maybe Rayna was off. With Koby casually walking around in her head, she didn't feel right. *Knock Knock* Time was up, and not a minute too soon. They sat back down when Koby spun the bottle. No...No... Ugh... The end of the glass was pointed at her knee as they both slowly got up and went over to the closet. "Oh boy..." She sighed as the door closed.

Jake smiled deviously at Rose. The bottle spun again, Rayna ending up with Jake. For some reason he felt like he needed something new. Maybe it was the alcohol playing on his rebel side, but he wanted to be with Rose. The way she sat on her hip, he walked away and into the closet with Rayna. They made out, nothing special though. He just wasn't feeling anything. Once the minutes were up, Jake sat back down between his best friend and his girl. Koby spun the bottle and it pointed at Rayna. He laughed as he crawled closer to Rose who was already giving him looks. The door to the closet closed and Jake started moving his fingers up Rose's leg. Now they were both laughing, nothing was funny, just laughing. Then he felt her hand creeping up his leg. Jake leaned in and let the moment take over.

Rose knew what she was doing was wrong, but hell with it! It was Rayna. And Rayna was currently busy with ex-boyfriend Koby. So where was the harm in that? Boy for a boy. Girl for a girl. Plain and simple. Plus, there was too much alcohol in their systems to have any intelligence or common sense.

Rose felt Jake's fingers crawling higher up her thigh. She looked back at the door and then back at Jake. She sighed, a mischievious grin playing upon her lips. She pushed Jake to the ground so he was lying flat on his back. She placed her legs either side of him, straddling him. She licked her teeth in desire, looking down at Jake. He looked up at her, his hands already squeezing her arse, coming up to feel her breasts. Rose slapped his hands away, shaking her head. She bent over him, kissing him deeply and then decided to have to fun. She looked back up at the door again before looking at Jake, an idea forming in her mind.

"I'm sure they'll take their time in there...why don't you show me your room?" Rose purred, trailing a line from his lips right down to his crotch. She dipped her head underneath his jaw, lightly licking and kissing before he said yes.

"I'm sure they'll take their time in there...why don't you show me your room?" Rose purred, trailing a line from his lips right down to his crotch. With the room spinning, Jake took her hand as he stumbled up the stairs. He got to the door and gave Rose a slap on the butt as she walked in the room. He pulled her onto the bed as he nibbled on her ear and kissed her neck. He sucked on her neck and let his hands roam free all over. Yet he was still out of it. He tossed over, letting Rose on top, and run his hand through her hair. It didn't feel the same than when he was with Rayna. Her hair was softer and longer. Then he heard the door, Rose didn't stop. But Jake pushed her to the side to see Rayna, who had just dropped her beer on his floor.

"Rayna?" Koby said, and the game was on. He pulled her and they got close. She was reluctant at first but wasn't going to stop. She grabbed his shirt and twisted it with her hand. It felt good. Really good. Then he pulled away, and the time wasn't even up. She could kind of see his shadow move to the other side of the closet as he sat in silence. The time had passed, it had been 7 minutes but there was no knock. She could hear Koby's breathing. It was heavy and she didn't like it. She got a little closer as she stole a quick kiss on his neck. But he moved his head away and Rayna sighed, "Was it not just a second ago you were attacking me like a mad man?" Her voice was snarky and full of tension. Still, no response. "Common.." She trailed her finger up and down his arm, "It's seven minutes in heaven... Nothing leaves this closet..." She smirked as she pulled his face towards hers, giving him one last kiss. But he didn't kiss her back. No passion, no effort. "Fine." Rayna got up and stormed out of the closet.

She walked into the room where she thought Rose and Jake were waiting or passed out. But the bottles were on the ground and they weren't there. Then she heard a noise upstairs. A door closing? She grabbed another beer and started to slowly walk towards the stairs, taking each step with ease. She didn't want to fall on her face. As she walked down the hall, all the doors seemed to be open, except Jake's. Without hesitation she opened the door and there it was. Her worst nightmare. Even though she had done a few things tonight, this was not acceptable. She dropped her beer and saw Jake look at her. "Jake!?" She cried. Turning around, Rayna fled out of the house. Just as she walked out the door she ran into someone. She was now on the ground, a mess of a drunk. She could feel two hands lifting her and carry her over to a car. "It's okay... I'll get you home.." Said a familiar voice. As she was driven home she tried to stay awake but all was a blur. That was when she passed out.

It didn't take Rose long to figure out what had just happened, even through her drunken state she comprehended the situation just fine. She looked behind her where Rayna had stood, but her reaction was too slow. She flopped off of Jake, laying on her back. Jake was sitting up watching Rayna drop her beer glass and then leave his room, and once more, his house. He frowned, not quite sure on how to deal with the situation. But instead, he looked back at Rose who shrugged. Jake sat for a moment, pondering the events. Not much else could go wrong, and besides that, they were all too drunk to think rationally. Jake shrugged and laughed something cold, grabbing Rose hard around the waist and placing her on top of him, continuing from where they left off.

His mind became a mess, a muddle of pure insecurity and shattered glass, all covered by a gooey substance of confusion and alcohol. Jake started kissing Rose's neck, her quiet moans enticing him to pull her clothes off. His hands slowly made their way to much wanted destinations before his desires took over, and all he wanted was granted - Thank you, Alcohol!

Afterwards, Rose was laying on her side, her bare back against Jakes naked chest. She sighed in content, her eyes barely open. Jake was propped up on one elbow behind her, looking down at the blonde in his arms - just the wrong blonde. He couldn't feel it yet, but he knew he would. The guilt, the hurt, the pain. The regret. He could feel it bubbling inside of him, but he was in too much denial yet to feel it, too drunk to recognise the mistakes. He laughed again, for no particular reason. A knock was at his door. Jake frowned, "Hmeeahh?" He called to the door. A face that appeared to belong to Koby's popped out from behind the door. A mask of sheer disappointment consuming his features. He was shaking his head, his jaw dropped. Rose turned over to see what the disturbance was. She rolled her eyes once she saw Koby - it bothered her none, therefore it would bother Koby none.

But Koby knew what bothered him. The fact his friend had that nerve to do that to his girlfriend. "Where's Rayna?" Kobys' voice slurred, his eyes red and glassy from the consumed alcohol. Jake shrugged a smirk on his face. He got off his propped elbow and rolled over so he was holding Rose close against him. Koby practically growled before walking out of his room, slamming the door loudly behind him. "Ray- Rayna!" Koby called out, stumbling and half tripping down the hallway and down the stairs. He rubbed his tired, heavy eyes in attempt to see better. He searched the kitchen and lounge room, continuing to call out her name. Then, he remembered Andrew was still home.

Koby tripped back up the stairs, calling out to Andrew. "Andrew. Andrew buddy. Aye!" He called out, entering Andrew's unoccupied room. "Huh?" Koby grimaced. He knew that Andrew probably took Rayna home. He groaned, rubbing his forehead. He was too drunk to drive. "Fuck it." Koby threw his hands up in the air, stumbling back down the hallway and down the stairs to where he dropped his keys and mobile. It was only just one in the morning. Koby sighed deeply. "Shit" He rushed towards the door, flinging it open and running, half dragging his feet to his car. It took him a good five minutes before he could get his key in the ignition. "Fuck!" He yelled at the car, bashing the steering wheel. Concentrate, Koby, c'mon! Finally, he got the key in, a smile breaking across his face.

He slowly backed out of the drive way - well, what was considered slow for Koby anyway. He couldn't tell if he was keeping in his lane most of the time or not, but it didn't bother him any; there wasn't anybody out driving at this time anyway. As soon as he pulled up to the house, he saw Andrew walking out of the sorority. "Andrew?" Koby called out to him as he got out of his car. "Koby!" Andrew shouted at him. "You're drunk! How the hell did you get here?" He yelled. Koby smiled, laughing and shrugged. "Same way you got here." He said sarcastically, tripping up the stairs and landing on his hands, standing back up and walking into the sorority. Andrew stood wide eyed looking at the man who tripped up the stairs, wondering how on earth he made it alive to the place if he couldn't even walk up the stairs.

Koby didn't try to be quiet as he entered the castle. If anything, he made quite an entrance, calling out Rayna's name. "Rayna!" He blurted out into the darkness. He followed his instincts, which led him to her room. He cleared his throat and leaned on her bedroom door, knocking. "Rayna" - stops to clear his groggy voice - "Rayna, it's me, Koby" He said, trying to sound as sincere as possible. He already felt like he'd let her down, like he already wasn't there for her. He shut his eyes close tight. "Rayna? Please open the door? Rayna?" Silence. There was nothing. Was she ignoring him? "Look, Rayna, I'm sorry. I know I've messed up. I - I just don't know anymore, okay? Please," His voice was slurred and his eyes were closed tightly. He slumped his back on the door, falling to the ground, his legs splayed out on the floor. He knocked on her door again. "Rayna?" He said again.

"What?" Koby heard her say as she walked down the hallway from the bathroom. Koby opened his eyes looking up at her as she stood before him. Her eyes were red-rimmed, either from crying or from the alcohol, he couldn't tell. A smile broke on his face and he stood up. "I thought you were mad at me," He walked towards her, holding out his hand. She ignored it and crossed her arms across her chest instead. Immediately Koby frowned. "Uh, I thought I should have checked up on you, you know? I saw Jake...I kind of assumed you would have run off...don't blame you," Koby babbled. Rayna shook her head, her eyes were closed. She wasn't going to speak. "Can we talk?" Koby had no idea what he wanted to talk about. Was this his drunk side coming out. "It's one in the morning, Koby. Go home, I'm not up for this," She said simply, walking past him to her bedroom. "Wait!" He called, following her in, tripping on the way. He laughed at himself. "Please, hear me out," Koby pleaded. Rayna glared at him before sitting down on her bed.

Koby took a deep breath before continuing, "I fucked up again, I shouldn't have driven tonight, but I keep thinking of you. I hurt you again, I shouldn't lie tonight, so the next few words are true," Koby said, walking towards Rayna, sitting beside her. "I'm sorry," He said, shrugging. He looked at her, "I messed up again, I'm only human. But you and I know the way this will end...Never again, will I leave you high," Koby sighed, flopping backwards on the bed, lying down. "I'm sorry I'm not what you wanted, I could use some poor excuse, because the hardest thing to say is I'm sorry," Koby concluded. "I still care, Rayna," He whispered, turning his face to look up at her. She wasn't looking at him though. This actually hurt him. He frowned, remaining silent. His arms were behind his head as he lay down, a million thoughts flying through his head.

It was the cutesy relationship she had always wanted. His lips against hers, the sparks she felt inside, was perfect. "Hmm, definitely better," Both pulling back, Rayna had nice shade of blush across her face as she giggled. "Breakfast is probably ready by now, don't want the food to get cold" She smiled as she felt his fingers climbing up her back. "But I'm in the middle of dessert" He winked as he stole a quick kiss. She leaned closer as they ended up laying down again, kissing with passion. Rolling over, now she was pinned down with Koby holding her wrists. "The food.." She started to say but Koby interrupted, "can wait," She smiled, letting him kiss her neck as she tried not to squirm. Then they both heard a knock at the door. It didn't seem to phase Koby but Rayna, using all her might, pushed Koby off of her. "I gotta get that, meet me at the table?" She rushed off, making her way to the door right before the second set of knocking. As Rayna opened the door, there seemed to be Rose and Jake. "Sorry, this isn't a whore house." Rayna said with anger. She would never forgive her after this. I even began to think Rose wasn't half bad.. She thought as she reluctantly let them in. "I'm sorry.." Jake said as he looked at his feet. "You can't even look me in the eye?" Rayna stormed off into the kitchen.

Koby let Rayna get out from underneath him, smacking her butt on the way out of the room. She was already at the door by the time he was at the stairs, pulling a shirt back on. Rose and Jake were standing in the doorway. Koby glared at the two who stood there, half a million thoughts flying through his mind before he even reached the second step. "I'm sorry," Koby heard Jake say. "You can't even look me in the eye?" Rayna replied. Koby watched as Rayna stormed towards the kitchen, leaving the front door open for Rose to walk up the stairs. "Hm, hey baby," Rose said as she started to pass Koby, placing a kiss on his cheek. He winced a little but kissed her on the cheek back, letting her pass. But as soon as both girls were out of sight, he stormed down the stairs towards Jake, anger pulsing through his veins. "You hurt her," Koby spat out at Jake. Jake shook his head that hung low, "Man, you don't even understand," Jake countered, finally looking up at his best mate. Koby shook his head, his face grimacing at the thought of the sleeze before him, sleeping next to Rayna. "Do you even realise how much you mean to her?" Koby struggled to control his voice as he critisized his friend. "Hah! Are you serious? She came to me, after you fucked up man," Jake smirked, crossing his arms over his chest. Koby's eyes narrowed, his whole body tensing. "You really want to go there, brother? Well, who did she come to when you failed her, again, last night? Hm?" Koby challenged, a smirk covering his face, and Jake's eyes widening. "And who held her, and comforted her, who kissed her when her...boyfriend wasn't there for her?" Koby was standing too close to Jake that they were breathing on each other, their voices low and controlled, challenging each others strengths. "And slept, with the local whore..." Koby shook his head. Jake's heart was racing, his thoughts stumped and words lost. He stood with his mouth gaped open, a frown on his face. "Leave." Koby growled at his friend, shoving him out of the door way.

Koby closed the door as Jake left speechless, probably too ashamed to face Rayna yet. Koby looked up the stairs, and saw that Rose's door was closed. He walked to the kitchen in search of Rayna. He found her curled over her breakfast, her hands in her face. "He left," He said calmly, standing awkwardly in the entrance of the kitchen. "I should go too," He stated, You're not really mine... he wanted to say so badly.

"I want you gone by the time I get back to my house, " Jake threatened before walking out the front door, leaving it open as he walked to his car. He drove out of the drive way furiously, speeding towards the sorority. He slammed his car door behind him, and let himself into the sorority, not bothering with knocking. He already knew Rayna was mad at him, he didn't want a door slammed in his face. Jake looked about the lounge room then the kitchen before deciding she was probably upstairs.

Jake quietly made his way upstairs, seeing one door was open, he went over to check out the room. There he found a much older lady leaning over Rayna, wiping away black smudges. He knocked on her door.

"Get out," Rayna looked up at Jake, glaring at him with red rimmed eyes. Jake shook his head, leaning in the door frame.

"I'm afraid I can't do that, we have to talk about this," Jake said, crossing his arms over his head. Rayna looked at the lady who was looking after her, a look of assurance. The lady nodded and walked past Jake, "Leave her be, please," The lady said as she left the room. Jake walked into the room and sat on the bed, facing Rayna.

"I was drunk and," Jake began.

"Leave," Rayna remained stubborn. Jake looked at her with pleading eyes.

"At least hear my out?" He pleaded. Rayna remained silent, looking down at her hands. Jake took that as a 'go ahead'.

"Look, we were all goofing around," He looked around nervously. "Rose and I had no clue what you and Koby were up to!"

"Rose and Koby have no relationship, Jake. They mean nothing to eachother," Rayna's voice was harsh and cold, a venomous tone striking Jake where it hurt most.

"That's not what I meant. I mean, that you and Koby could have been up to anything and it didn't bother me," Jake explained. "I was off my face wasted, Rayna. You have to understand that I don't do that stuff - you know me!" He returned to begging.

"Yeah, Jake, and I wasn't as drunk as you and Rose, if anything I was just barely tipsy. I'm your girlfriend. Do I even mean anything to you?" Rayna shouted at him. Tears were forming in her eyes again. Jake looked shocked at her words, despite how simple they were.

"You mean the world to me, baby girl..."

"Don't call me that."

A frown was plastered across Jake's face, his insides burning. "Well, what now?" Jake asked, almost giving up.

"Leave," Rayna said, cold and harsh.

"What? Is that it?" Jake narrowed his eyes. Rayna remained silent. "I guess if that's what's going to make you happy, if that's what's going to make you stop hurting, then so be it. I suppose I deserve it anyway," With that Jake stood up and slowly walked out of the room, down the stairs and into his car. By that point his shoulders were shaking, his head was hurting and tears were silently rolling down his face. He bashed his hands on the steering wheel before starting the car again and headed home.

Jake cracked open another fresh can of beer. It was his fourth already that night. He hadn't moved from the lounge room where it was silent - the TV was off, the stereo was off. Andrew found it was more safe up in his room and left Jake alone. Jake was pleased to see that Koby wasn't there, or else one of them would not have made it out alive. A constant glare and face of disgust covered Jake's face. He was most definitely not happy. The next few days continued the same. He rarely turned up to his classes through out the week, finding it too difficult to get out of bed. Andrew would knock on his door most of the time asking if he needed breakfast, if he had class that day, he even asked if he could borrow his car once to get groceries. Jake didn't even care. He screwed up. He hurt Rayna again. Koby won, again. He got the girl. Again. Jake was in a silent fury within himself. A conflict he had to face alone. He was empty and alone - the same reason why he hadn't had a girlfriend in a long time.

He sighed shakily, his eyes still red rimmed. It was a Saturday morning - cold and windy. It echoed through the silent house. Andrew had already left. Jake groaned as he sat up in his empty bed and glared at his phone. Nothing. No texts or calls from either Rayna or Koby. This infuriated him further. He climbed out of bed, only wearing grey sweats. He stumbled out his bedroom door and tripped down the stairs, catching himself against the wall. His head was hurting, vertigo taking over. A constant hang over consumed his mornings - always drinking too much the night before. This was normal now for Jake. He had a medicine cabinet of Advil and Nurofen. His best friend. He popped two Advil into his mouth and swallowed half a gallon of water before becoming satisfied. If anything, he was lacking water only too much. He was getting weak, ill. He was giving in. He knew he could do better than that, but he found no point. He had missed too many calls of modelling agencies that he was given up on. He felt useless and found no purpose anymore.

This continued for several weeks, the days blurring together. Andrew had started getting concerned, trying desperately to get Jake out of the house, but Jake wouldn't have it.

"You're wasting your life here, Jake," Andrew pleaded, a whine in his voice. He was honestly too scared to think of how Jake would turn out if he went on like this any longer. Jake hadn't shaved in a month, hadn't worked out or eaten properly either. His diet mainly contained alcohol and pizza. He had no effort to make dinner anymore.

"So.." Jake squeezed his eyes shut, trying to hide himself under his bed sheets from the voice behind his bed room door.

"Let me in, Jake, I think we can sort this out," Andrew banged on his door again. Jake groaned loudly, his head pounding yet again.

"Either piss off or get me two Advil and water," Jake growled at the door. He heard footsteps walk away from the door and down the stairs but they returned. Jake rolled his eyes and walked over to his door, opening it before Andrew had the chance to knock again. Jake snatched the drugs and water off Andrew and sculled it down.

"What is there to talk about?" Jake glared at Andrew.

"You're becoming more like Koby, man," Andrew shook his head, his eyes filled with worry. "Cold-hearted or more or less heartless, you drink your life away with your miseries, you don't care about anyone anymore...dude, you've got to get out of the house. Distract yourself, that girl will be nothing anymore," Jake's eyes widened with shock.

"That girl was my life! Don't you understand! I let her down, and she was my life!" Jake was furious, his face consumed by anger. "You want to help? Start by minding your own business and staying out of my life," Jake yelled before slamming the door behind him. He sauntered over to his bed side table where he found his mobile that still had no messages from either Koby or Rayna.

A few more weeks had passed, and Jake hadn't heard anything more from Andrew. He heard him leave each morning, but Jake was acknowledged. He was pleased with that. He still hadn't left the house, his hair was getting shaggy, his face was consumed with hair. He showered rarely when he smelt himself, and ate only when he felt he was dying. He was getting sick, just to top it off. He walked out of his room too early one morning, vomiting down the hall way and Andrew rushed out to help him.

"Go away!" Jake yelled at him as he made it in the bath room. He was vomiting up fluids.

"You need a doctor!" Andrew yelled back, rushing into the bathroom behind him. Jake couldn't speak, his head pounding and his stomach churning. Andrew rushed downstairs to grab the house phone and dialed an after hours doctor. He returned soon back to Jake and aided him with his vomits until the doctor arrived.

A few days later and Jake was back on his feet, walking around and eating. The doctor had spoken to him about everything for a good few hours without charge, and with that Andrew was forever grateful. His friend was getting better. Jake ate proper meals and started to make dinner again. Andrew came home one night smelling spaghetti, another night smelling steak and another night smelling chick casserole. One step at a time, Jake was going back to University. He was left far behind, but Andrew caught him up to speed. Jake was back in his normal mind set. He still hadn't thanked Andrew for helping him, but it was assumed it was there. After all, Jake knew what he was doing to himself could have cost himself his life. Rayna was a distant memory behind his alcoholic and ill days, and found comfort that he had almost drunk her away out of his life.

Jake was running low on groceries and made a note that he needed to go out sometime to get some food for his house, but he figured he had nothing else to do and decided he could go then. That was when a knock was heard on his front door. He went to open his door, and there was the face he thought he drank away.

Rayna was sick and tired of men. They all led to pain. She knew he was drunk. But in what mind would it ever be okay to sleep with someone other than your girlfriend. After shutting Jake out, she was alone. She had been talking to Mrs. James and told her everything. About her childhood, father, modelling and the boy problems she now had. Mrs. James started giving her advice and saying that Rayna reminded her of her own daughter, minus the horrible childhood. Mrs. James had suggested to forget them and focus on work and school, so that's what she did. Rayna went to school, ate and booked a lot of shoots. She had her Vogue shoot and they were so thrilled they recommended her to tons of agencies. It was weird when she'd see her face in such well known magazines. Rayna was really making a name for herself. Throughout the month she had made many sketches, all directed towards Koby and Jake. She wished Koby would call her. But mostly, she wished Jake would stop calling her. He screwed up and he'd have to bare the consequences.

It was Tuesday, and she was bored. She had no plans and didn't know what to do. She moped around her room, picking up her phone then dropping it again. Then she heard a knock on her door, Mrs. James. "I need to go and get groceries, want to join me?" Rayna hopped on her feet, nodding, as she went to freshen up in the bathroom. Grabbing her purse and phone, she saw a new notification. It was a reminder for "Rayna + Jake 4 months <3". She threw the phone in her purse and stood in her pretty pink heels. She remembered how happy she was. How he had been so kind. It was the alcohol. The alcohol changed him and made him... Koby. Rayna started walking into her car, which was now completely emptied from her crap, and watched Mrs. James get in the passenger side. They drove, as Rayna turned on the radio to Whatcha Say. She smiled as she did little dance moves.

"I rewrote the grocery list, now we can both have one." The woman smiled handing her the paper. Rayna snatched it and glanced over the items. "How about I get the second half and you get the first?" Mrs. James smiled in approval and they headed their separate ways. Milk....milk.... She headed to the dairy section and began to look for the 2% milk. But in the aisle she stopped, seeing Koby at the other end. She tried a small wave, but she was still shocked. She stared as he walked closer, not sure what she was going to do. "Hi.." She said, keeping her hands behind her back. "Long time no see.." He sounded just as shocked as she was, not sure what to say. "So how have you been?" His voice was a bit shaky, maybe from excitement? She smiled, "Busy is the best way to put it," Looking in his eyes was the worst way to stay focused on work. The silence between them danced around. She fiddled with her fingers, looking at him every two seconds. "Anyways I have things to get.." Rayna said as she put the milk jug in her cart. "Could we... Go get coffee sometime? On me?" Rayna blushed a bit. Technically I am single, whether this is a date or not. Rayna ripped part of her paper, and began to write down her number. "Just text me, okay?" Rayna then handed him the paper and proceeded on her hunt for the groceries, but her heart seemed to be beating just a little bit faster. Why does he always do this to me?

After getting everything on the list she saw Mrs. James standing by the tills. "What took you so long?" She asked, tapping her invisible watch. Rayna blushed as she apologized and told her about meeting up with Koby. "That Koby is no good. Out of both those boys, you know I like Jake better. Yeah Jake messed up but he was so... Perfect, for you that is." Rayna then, once again, began going through her memories with Jake. The video games and surprise picnic was all too wonderful. "Can we hit a detour on the way home?" Rayna asked as Mrs. James giggled. They got through the line and hurried into the car. Rayna heading straight towards Jake's house. As much as Koby made her smile, Jake made her feel safe. Everyone makes mistakes she told herself. She pulled up to the house and gave Mrs. James a hug before heading up the steps. Knocking on the door was the most nerve wracking thing she could ever do. But she needed to man up. As the door opened she smiled, trying to convince herself this was the right idea, but she still wasn't sure. "Can I come in?" She asked, checking him out. He didn't seem completely normal, maybe he lost weight? She walked in as his smile became wide upon his face. "I've been thinking... and well... I miss you.. A lot... Today would have been our 4 months.. It just made me think how much I wished it was.." Rayna was cut off by some lustful lips. It was enough for her to say they were back together. Rayna smiled as she kissed him once more. "I'd stay but I have to get the groceries home. Text me? I'll text back this time" She winked, heading for the door.

"Whenever you are?" She read the message and then looked at her calendar. She had a shoot almost everyday this week. One of which was another for Vogue. "How about Thursday night? At the cafe on 8th?" She put her phone on her bed smiling at the ceiling. Rayna knew what she was getting into, another triangle. "Rayna! You have a visitor!" She heard Mrs. James from upstairs. She was about to get up when she felt hands on her waist, and kisses on her neck. Those kisses soft and gentle but yet lustfully and meaningful. "I've missed you," He breathed into her ear, a smile in his voice. She could feel how much he had wanted to hold her, it was almost scary. But at least she felt that he loved her, and it wasn't a fraud to sleep with her. Rayna hadn't slept with anyone. Ever. And honestly believed she wouldn't until she found the one. She knew that drunk night must have been the build up, she knew that guys wanted, needed, those kind of things. But all the kisses, the touching, and the cuddling meant everything for her. "Rayna, I love you," He pressed his lips to her cheek, then leaned back as she kissed him. She never had anyone, besides her father trying to apologize, say they love her. It was always a monumental thing. She pulled back from his lips for a moment, "As much as I've missed you, can we take things slower? I guess I just want to reassure you're still the same Jake, y'know?" She could tell he was slightly confused, but nodded in understanding. It was a few seconds of awkward before she broke the silence, "I want to show you something.." She grabbed his hand and led it onto the roof. The sun was just setting and there was a magnificent pink sprayed across the sky. Even though it was windy and the roof still seemed a bit damp, it was ever so romantic. Jake had her close, with his arms around her.

They stayed there until it was black, making it quite the challenge to get back into her room. "I'd let you stay but, slow? Remember?" With a little kiss, she walked back to the door and climbed back upstairs. What a long day.. She sighed as she looked back at her phone for a reply from the other boy who seemed to have interest as well.

Deep down, Jake hated that. He wouldn't admit to Rayna, or even out loud, but he hated having to "take it slow". Why couldn't everything just go back to how it use to be before he screwed up? Hadn't he proven himself? No, he hadn't. Jake slowly shook his head at the thought as he drove home. Everything had been great; the way she felt in his arms and how easily their hands slipped together. It would have been better than great if she had stopped being so stubborn and just let him stay the night - let everything be normal. He wasn't angry, he was merely upset at that fact. Eventually she'll be fine with it. It had been a over a month since they had seen each other anyway. But it still felt like there was ends that needed some tying up. Like the past month that had gone by was a blur (which is was), but something had to be resolved. Jake thought it might have been for the fact he still wasn't talking to Koby, or maybe because he wasn't use to now thinking about Rayna again in a sober train of thought.

When Jake pulled up to his house, Andrew was waiting in the lounge room. He glared at Jake from across the room as Jake dropped his keys into the key bowl. He turned to face Andrew with an eye brow raised, "What? Just say what you want," Jake sighed. But Andrew only looked at him, with a frown on his face. "Well, if that's how you want to be, so be it," Jake ran a hand through his hair, "Ugh, I need a hair cut," He muttered heading into the kitchen. Andrew's eyes followed him the whole time. Jake could feel it. It sent nerves running down his spine, goosebumps appearing on his skin; he was being judged. He spun around to face the eyes that were following him, "Andrew, stop, just stop okay!" Jake begged him, shouting. Andrew didn't budge. Jake rolled his eyes, "Stop being so childish!" Jake scolded before grabbing a juice poppa from the fridge and escaping to his room. He found tranquility in his room; silence. He loved it. It was so tense in the lounge room with Andrew. It angered him. Why couldn't he just be happy for him?

Jake couldn't see how the friendship with Andrew was going to either improve or be ended. He had become too much of little a brother - an attachment to his life. But he was getting annoying. Whether it was the role he took on when he looked after Jake or himself just growing up, he couldn't tell. Despite that, he was actually proud of the young man - he had shaped up over the past month, and his person had grown as well. Although Jake was having an off time with Andrew, which was made it quite hard to be at home around him, he was somewhat intrigued. Andrew had found himself, his own individuality. The fact that he was becoming more individual without needing Koby or Jake kind of... enticed him. Something different about Andrew brought different thoughts into Jake's mind he thought he wouldn't think.

Rayna began tapping her foot. She thought she had the game under control. But obviously someone forgot the rules. She was the game master. He was one of her pieces who was now knocked off the path. She grumbled sending another text, "Where are you!" She then noticed the barista was starring at her. She went over to the counter and leaned towards him, showing off a bit of cleavage. "Hey" She smiled as he was pouring someones drink. He smiled back going back to his work. She started laughing as she looked at the blank screen on her phone, getting the guys attention again. He walked over, "Hey, I'm Jake" Rayna then rolled her eyes. Total turn off. But despite that she pulled up her contacts, and gave her phone to him. "I'll text you" She smiled as he gave her the key to his heart. Getting the cell back she opened a text message. "Well, guess not then." She sent to the guy who stood her up.

Walking back to her table she grabbed the muffin she had bought and went to her car. Just as she turned on the ignition her phone rang. "Where were you!?" Rayna yelled through the phone. She was definitely in a horrid mood. But she didn't actually care where he was. Unless he was with Rose. "Rose had some issues going on and she needed me," Rayna gave the middle finger to her phone, remaining silent. She couldn't believe he wouldn't see her because of that whore. Maybe they had gotten a lot closer... "I'm sorry, Rayna. What about tomorrow night? Dinner? On me. At that restaurant we first went to as a double date?" She rolled her eyes. Yeah, what great memories. Looking at her dash she noticed she was almost out of gas. "Stand me up again, leave me hanging, don't bother," Then she put her foot to the gas and drove to the nearest gas station. When she got there she saw the texts from Koby, sarcastically she replied, "I'll drive myself there, thanks. Six," At least that way she could escape if needed.

Rayna didn't drive home, but to Jake's house. She stormed in, right to the kitchen where Jake seemed to be cooking. She snuck up behind him and began to kiss his neck, wrapping her arms around him. "Mmmm..." He mumbled as she kissed the back of his neck. She slid her hands under his shirt and began to lift it off, and he leaned away from the stove to assist her mission. She kissed his back as he kept stirring the pot in front of him. Nibbling gently on his neck he mumbled again, then slowly turned around. "Hey" She said with a smile. He had just as dirty a smile as she had. They kissed, deep and passionately, well for Jake it was passion. For Rayna it was revenge. It was her feelings of emptiness being released with her tongue. She rubbed her fingers along his back as he pressed her closer. Then there was a sudden beeping which startled both of them. Jake turned around and began to take out the food from the oven, and went back to stirring the pot. "Enough food for me too?" She laughed as he turned his head. "I guess for you.." Then she put her arms around him again as he stirred the sauce.

Rayna's arms felt so right around his waist. He smiled to himself as he stirred the sauce. Eventually everything was cooked to perfection and he served the meal for two. He peeked a look at Rayna, raising an eyebrow in the process. He grabbed their plates and set them down on the table, "For you, madam," he announced, pulling a chair out for her to sit down. Rayna smiled, sitting down on the chair. Jake pushed the chair in for her before sitting down in front of her, a smile clear across his face. He put out his hand on the table, reaching for Rayna's hand who slid under his own. "I love you," He winked at her before digging into his food. His free hand stroked Rayna's fingers. He looked up every now and then to smile and check she was enjoying her meal. "So, what were you up to today?" He asked her.

"So, what were you up to today?" He asked her. She winced and fiddled with her thumbs. "Nothing really, I got coffee..." She then got up and put her dishes away. "As much as I'd love to stay," Rayna purred, her voice sounded a lot like Rose's. "I have some homework to do. But we can hang out Saturday?" He nodded and she briskly walked out of the house. Well she didn't have homework but she did have some shopping to do. Rayna spent the rest of her evening at the mall, she was looking for a look-at-me-now outfit mixed with you're-not-that-special to show off to Koby. She ended up getting a fancy blue top and matching shoes. She imagined them with her favorite metallic purse. Finally when she got home she went into the kitchen for a snack. Rayna hadn't eaten much lately because of all the shoots. She didn't want to look bloated. When she opened the fridge she heard someone walk into the room. Rose leaned over her shoulder, "Hey Rayna cakes" She smiled. Rayna was disgusted. Mostly because she realized Rose was fine and Koby was a liar. "Hey Rose.." Rayna mumbled. Quickly she got herself some yogurt and headed off to bed.

Rayna woke up, the best she's felt in days. She skipped down the stairs and grabbed a coffee and some toast. She decided to skip school, she knew there was an exam she wasn't prepared for, and had woken up at 11am. With her stomach full, she rubbed her head and felt the greasy hair which lied upon her head. "Eeeww..." Rayna then hopped in the shower and even after she finished cleaning, she just sat on the floor with the water running. A lot went through her mind. But turning the shower off, she set the thoughts aside and got dressed. Putting on her fantastic outfit, Rayna felt spectacular. She even took the time to curl her hair. Rayna didn't want to admit she was looking forward to the dinner but she was.

Time flew by when it finally became 5:30. She had just finished painting her nails and was still letting them dry. By the time it was "safe" to go, it was 6:00pm. She got in her car and drove to the restaurant. It was 6:05pm and she wasn't "ready" to go. Maybe Jake has some issues that he needs me.. Rayna had a devilish smile across her face as she turned on the radio. Minutes passed and when it finally became 6:23pm Rayna got out of her car. She walked confidently to the restaurant and found the table where Koby seemed to have made an effort. At least he looks good... He was smiling, but she still had a sassy face full of what happened yesterday.

"Well you two don't have too much fun," The phone beeped, signalling the end of the call. Jake smiled at the phone. Rayna was always busy with modelling. He was so proud of how far she had come, so proud of her photos. He use to love looking at a magazine and seeing her face in it. But now, it kind of haunted him. It was taking her away from him. He was happy for her, but sad that all her business hours were pulling them apart. Not that it was really happening, Jake was just feeling the distance.

Jake walked out of his room, wearing boxer shorts and a singlet. He had gotten back into working out, finally. He felt good, healthy and strong again, standing taller, walking more confidently again. Especially since Rayna had walked back into his life so unexpectedly. He hadn't thought twice about seeing her again. Andrew was still pissed at him, but they were back on speaking terms, hanging out even. And that was exactly what they were doing. Hanging out. Jake went back down into the lounge room where Andrew was watching a movie that was paused and waiting for Jake. Jake hadn't even thought of Koby, but when he saw Andrew waiting for him, he suddenly remembered his best friend, but just as suddenly let the thought pass. Andrew had replaced Koby.

Jake went and sat beside Andrew, deciding to sit a little bit further away than what he wanted. Lately, Jake had started looking at Andrew differently, even started acting weirdly around him, but he hadn't noticed. Not until that morning when Andrew asked why he was being so weird. The thoughts Jake had the other night kind of frightened him, made him feel that he was...judged. Judged strictly by himself, not anyone else. Jake wouldn't even admit it to himself, yet alone outside, but he had a feeling that he was...attracted to Andrew.

Yeah, Andrew had grown a lot in the past couple of months, but it wasn't anything special. He was just like any other boy. Man. Maybe it was because Jake was living with him and Andrew had looked after him, and Andrew had been nothing but caring and looked up to Jake. But as Jake sat next to Andrew, he could feel himself getting shy, his face turning a nice shade of red, his palms getting clammy. Their elbows were almost touching, and this made Jake feel anxious. They both had cans of beer beside them, but Jake wasn't game enough to take a swig of his drink. He kept his eyes glued to the TV, and breathed when he felt he deserved a lungful of air.

Jake heard a soft knock on his bedroom door. He frowned, looking at the time. It was only three in the afternoon and he wasn't expecting anybody. He stood up and walked quickly over to his door where he found Rayna standing. He smiled, looking down at the pretty blonde, pulling her in for a tight embrace. "Mmm, hello," He whispered into her ear, kissing her cheek, down to her neck. Rayna giggled, pushing him playfully away, "Good afternoon," She replied, looking up at Jake. Jake loved the way Rayna giggled, the way she smiled, the way her touch felt. Jake loved the way Rayna did everything. He pulled her into his room, closing the door behind him and playfully pushed her down on his bed, his weight hovering above her, putting his weight off onto his elbow. He looked down on her, "What cha doing?" Jake asked, moving strands of hair out of Rayna's face with his free hand. "Came here to see you, of course," Rayna replied, smiling. Jake felt his heart melt. Jake leaned down and planted a kiss on her lips, feeling her arms slide up and around his neck. He deepened the kiss and let his free hand hold her waist firmly, pulling her up against him.

Eventually, Jake pulled back smiling, "Wanna watch a movie? Have dinner?" He asked. Rayna pretended to have to think about her answer, which earned her a good tickling from Jake. "Stop! Stop! She laughed. Jake stopped tickling her and let her catch her breath, nodding in agreeing for watching a movie and having dinner. "Good, or else I wouldn't have stopped," Jake threatened, grabbing her by the hand and dragging her down the hallway, downstairs to the kitchen. "The only things I have left for dinner is tacos..." Jake looked at Rayna to see if she didn't mind tacos. She nodded with a smile. "Easy," Jake mumbled, reaching into the fridge for salad. He went over to his pantry and got out taco shells and walked over to his sink to see if the mince he put out earlier that day had defrosted. He grabbed out a pan and turned on the stove.

Dinner was done, a movie was in the ps3 and Rayna and Jake were sitting comfortably together on the couch, watching Butterfly Effect. During the movie they had finished eating, so Jake grabbed their plates and placed them on the floor, allowing Rayna room to lie down on Jake's chest as they watched the movie. Jake didn't know what time it was but eventually Rayna had fallen asleep on his chest. "Rayna," Jake whispered to her, nudging her shoulder. "Mhmm?" Rayna lifted her head. "You fell asleep, baby, do you want me to drive you home?" Rayna shook her head, placing it back down on his chest, falling back to sleep again. Jake assumed she would just stay the night. He started rubbing her back until the movie ended. Gently, he sat up, holding Rayna up, he scooped her up into his arms and carried her up to his room, taking off her shoes. He quickly went back down stairs and turned off the ps3 and put the plates in the sink.

Jake snuggled down into the bed, bringing Rayna underneath with him. Soon enough, he fell asleep.

Rayna woke up in a daze. She had a slight memory loss from the night before but at least there was no hangover. Rayna could feel the warm arm around her waist as she snuggled up closer to her cuddle buddy. She didn't know if he was awake but she did know she wanted to go back to sleep. The comfort and warmth in his embrace was her safe haven. Then she felt his fingers climbing over her body. He reached over her and grabbed his phone. "What time is it?" Rayna asked with her morning voice. He pulled her closer (not that they could get any closer), "About 10:30am" He said as he kissed her neck lightly. She giggled, the touch of his lips sent tingles throughout her body. She shuffled herself so she was now facing Jake, and she kissed his chest. "I hate to... But I need to go soon" Rayna partially lied. She didn't need to go, but she wanted to go. She quickly escaped Jake's embrace and grabbed her shoes on the way out.

Going home, she put on a clean outfit and covered herself in perfume. Then it was time for a sketch. Rayna had been drawing game pieces in human size recently. It was a way for her to keep track of what she had done. Hopefully not a bunch of regrets. Walking past the clock it was 2pm. She decided to go out for lunch, maybe to Dairy Queens. But before walking out the door Rayna slipped on her favorite headband. Messing up her hair, she had the perfect boho style. The food at Dairy Queen was good. She hadn't been to a fast food place in 3 weeks. How she missed greasy fries and burgers.

Popping in a mint, Rayna pulled up to Koby's house. Koby's turn.. She slammed the car door and walked up the stairs, caring enough to knock and wait at his doorstep.

Rose's mobile ringed to Koby's set message tone. Immediately she stopped following Rayna and looked at her phone: "Keen to come out tonight?" Rose looked up at Rayna then back at her phone. "What were you and Rayna up to?" She sent back straight away, waiting on her toes. She looked up, holding her phone in her hand and looked at Rayna who was looking down at her own phone. Rose frowned, "Who are you texting?" She asked rudely. Rayna raised her eyebrows as her phone buzzed in her hands and looked at Rose. "None of your business," She snapped. Rose rolled her eyes, watching Rayna type away at her phone, and receiving a message back just as quick. "Well, Koby just asked me out," Rose sighed, leaning against the counter. Rayna didn't appear impressed. She started making a small snack to nibble on, and the silence hung in the air. Every so often Rayna would look back down at her phone with a smile playing on her lips. Rose's eyes narrowed into slits, "What are you smiling about?" She snapped. Rayna looked up, "I'm going out, bye," Ignoring her question, Rayna walked past Rose and headed up stairs, and soon enough came back down and left. Rose frowned in suspicion.

Rayna wasn't gone more than hour when Rose heard the front door opening. "Rayna, are you back already? Rose yelled out, leaning back to see through the kitchen from the lounge room.

"No!" She heard a male voice yell back. Rose frowned and stood up, slowly walking through the kitchen to the entrance.

"Isn't Rayna home?" The voice said. Rose saw the light haired, very handsome male standing awkwardly in the entrance.

"Jake," Rose purred, raising an eye brow.

"Yeah," Jake nodded towards Rose.

"No, Rayna went out," Rose crossed her arms over her chest, putting her weight into her left heel.

"Oh, really?" A flash of disappointment and confusion crossed Jake's face. "Did she say where?" He asked, curious.

Rose shook her head slowly, "No, but she went to Koby's house today..." Rose licked her lips, prepared to stir things up. Jake frowned.

"Oh, really?" He started to remember her rushing off in the morning, saying she had to go. Was she rushing off to Koby's house?

"Yeah, really. She wouldn't tell me what went on either," She sighed unhappily, acting betrayed. "Despite our differences and the incident the other month, we've grown quite close," Rose lied. Jake nodded.

"Really? I wouldn't have thought so," Jake was puzzled. Rose frowned, looking Jake up and down. There was something she couldn't quite figure out.

"Are you hiding something from Rayna?" Rose said, straight forward.

Jake was taken aback, "What? Of course not, if anything, I feel it's the other way around!" Jake crossed his arms over his chest. "If you and Rayna are so close, can you tell me if she has really been going to photo shoots all the time," Jake asked. He walked forward a little to lean against a wall.

Rose mulled it over in her head before replying, "Well, I see Koby a lot, and he's been talking about Rayna a lot lately. I think..." Rose stopped for a dramatic effect before looking at Jake with wide eyes, "Maybe they might be hanging out, seeing each other again!" Rose smirked, looking at the Jake who now seemed saddened. "Oh, don't look like that, I'm sure you're hiding something too, a reason for not coming over and putting effort in to see your baby girl" Rose egged him on. She pretended to pout, drawing a tear on her face.

Jake rolled his eyes, "She's been too busy for me lately," He said quietly, becoming grumpy.

"Oh really? And is that stopping you from coming over?" Rose countered, raising an eyebrow.

"I came over tonight, and she's gone out, aren't you suspicious?" Jake almost lost his cool, almost yelled but composed himself. He turned on his heel to leave.

"You're gay," Rose said. She turned on her heel to walk back to the lounge room. Jake immediately stopped in his tracks.

"No, I'm not," He turned around, becoming defensive and frowning. A smirk grew on Rose's face. So, the truth comes out, she thought.

"Oh, really? Andrew has changed recently. I saw him the other day actually, down near the coffee shop?" Rose explained. She watched Jake's every move like a hawk. She began to walk towards him, "He's been working out, obviously, I can tell, his muscles," Rose shook her head approvingly, biting her lower lip. Jake rolled his eyes at her.

"What are you getting at? Do you like Andrew?" Jake crossed his arms over his chest, glaring at Rose. Rose stopped walking, leaning on her hip.

"Y'know what Jake? You're awfully defensive, and guys like you, I know pretty damn well," Rose pointed a finger at Jake's chest. "Yes, guys like you are found at lots of pubs, around a lot of guys and less women," Rose began to tap a finger on her bottom lip.

"Rose, you're being ridiculous," Jake laughed, shaking his head. "I've got to go,-"

"You're gay," Rose said, throwing her hands in the air. Jake narrowed his eyes are her, shaking his head slowly.

"No, Rose, I'm not," Jake spoke quietly, fluidly and most importantly, kept himself even.

"You don't have to hide it from me Jake, I'd be more worried about Rayna finding out," Rose eyed Jake off.

"I'm not gay, and I'm leaving now," Jake called over his shoulder as he walked out the front door.

"Whatever you say, Jake, whatever you say!" Rose called out to him. Once he left, Rose was left standing near the entrance in a fit of giggles. Oh boy, I wonder where this will go, she thought.

She had ice cream in one hand, and Koby in the other. He was being so sweet, funny, nice... Rayna! Don't let him fool you! You are winning! She adjusted as she put her empty bowl of ice cream on the coffee table. Then a head ache hit her. She had trouble focusing on the movie but tried to laugh with Koby when he did. She rested her head on his chest as Koby laughed again. She felt him reach forward and grab the remote, pausing the movie. "Are you alright?" He asked, putting a hand on her back. "Yeah... Do you have any advil?" He nodded and got up to get the bottle of pills. As he walked away she checed her phone and turned down the brightness. She had a message from Jake, "Hey, Where are you?" Quicly she replied, "At home, major head ache :S" Throwing her phone back on the floor she watched oby walk back in the room with some medicine. "Thanks" She smiled as she took the pills. Koby ended up turning the movie off and just chatting. Laughing Rayna scooted closer, "Like this?" He put his arm around her, doing the "fake yawn" move. "Sooo smooth," She said yawning. They both laugh as she hugged his chest and began to fall asleep. The head ache was really taking a toll on her. Her eyes were heavy and she began to pant as Koby rubbed her back. He was so comforting.

She woke up around 1am. This time Koby was clutching onto her waist, as they were snuggled on the couch. She could see both her phone and Koby's blinking with new messages. Reaching out hesitantly she grabbed both of them. First she checked Koby's phone, 13 new messages. She opened one, "Koby?!?! Are you with Rayna!?!" Deleting it and the rest who were all from Rose. She then put the phone gently back in place as she checked her phone, 2 new messages. "Rayna? I was at your house 5 minutes ago. Why would you lie to me?" She felt guilty yet, before she knew of the message, she felt great. She then checked the second one from Jake, "Please? You know you can talk to me" She knew if she didn't handle this right now, it would blow up later. Rayna slipped Koby's arm off of her without waking him. She smiled as she grabbed her phone, purse and headed out to her car. "Bye..." She whispered as she walked out to her car and drove towards Jake's.

She felt the need to knock, since she wasn't sure if Jake was sleeping. Tapping her foot, she waited nervously hoping he'd answer the door. A few minutes later she saw Jake with a cup of coffee at the door. "Sorry I lied... I went to the bar and I guess I needed some time to myself." He just grabbed her and pulled her in for an embrace. She hugged him and began to ask tipsy, to make her story believable. It was all on her, for she knew Koby wouldn't go talking to Jake.
"Sorry.." She said as he escorted her inside.
"I guess I'm just over protective, y'know?" He sighed as he took another sip of coffee.
"I just love you and want us to be honest with each other.." Rayna gave him a peck on the cheek as she went and got herself a cup of coffee.
"My head ache is gone, by the way. I didn't lie about that.." She was being sincere for once as she sipped on her 3 sugars, no cream.
"Want to play a video game or something?" She asked, knowing he wouldn't refuse. But yet, he shook his head. "what's wrong?" He just finished his coffee as he played with the mug in his hands.
"Rose was just being... Rose. She said something that's making me think..." Rayna thought about Rose being at Koby's that morning.
"Don't let her get to you. She's nothing. Just trying to stir up trouble." Then again, Rayna was probably the one causing trouble. Rayna walked over to the tv and set up Halo 3.
"Common... I promise to go easy on you..." She winked as she pulled him up from his chair and over to the controller.

Rayna began to panic as Koby hung up the phone. He was coming. Here. Rayna quickly got out of the bathroom and sat next to Jake. They were watching 2 and a half men when Rayna leaned to give Jake a peck on the cheek, "Babe, can we do something?" She smiled as she offered her hand in helping him up. "Sure, what to do... What to do..." He stroked his imaginary beard, making Rayna chuckle, and then grabbed his keys. "Where are we going!?" Rayna yelled following him out of the house. Plan: Get both out, no one to question. Running out the door she hopped in Jake's car as he started driving. They drove for about an hour to a small town. Jake parked in front of an old warehouse. "What are we doing here?" She asked, very curious. He got out and walked slowly, in awe. But Rayna was just confused. He walked around the side of the building where there were a few crates leaning against the wall. "This was my hide out... Follow me," With that he moved the crates and crawled through the small opening. Rayna had no trouble going through the hole as she got up she was amazed. There were posters everywhere, flashlights, sleeping bags and a portable radio. She watched him take in all the old memories. "My best friend and I used to come here when we were kids. I lived in this town before my mom remarried my dad.. Long story, but this was my hangout. Alex and I had so many fun times.." Rayna could tell he was getting really emotional. She embraced him as he still envisioned his past. She was nervous to ask about Alex and his parents so she didn't. After a few hours of talking in the hide out and recalling memories, they headed home. Rayna wasn't prepared for all this. For the memories, the caring and relationship. Because she knew her heart still longed for someone else. Koby

On the drive home it was kind of romantic. It was a long drive but she figured she'd be back at his house around noon. The radio was playing You by Dave Days when Jake started to turn it down. "You haven't said much this ride.." He said.

"Not much to say I guess.." He smiled putting his hand on her thigh.

"You can talk to me, y'know." Rayna gave him the eye. There wasn't anything wrong, just things she wasn't telling him.

"Honestly, nothing is wrong." She took his hand off of her as he began to pull over.

"Jake! What are you doing!" She yelled as he stopped the car.

"Please! I know when somethings wrong. We can talk about why you lied and went to the bar..." He looked in her eyes, trying to gently put his hand on her arm before being flicked away.

"Jake. Stop. Just bring me home." With that, the rest of the ride was silent.

Jake dropped her off in front and as he drove off Rayna noticed a car. Koby's car. She walked into the house and sneaked around. If he was here, especially if he was with Rose, she wanted to get out without a trace. She walked around the corner slowly and noticed no one was in the kitchen. She still had her heels on as she tried to stop the clicking noise against the hardwood floor. As she got to the corner that was by the lounge she peeked over and saw Koby right in her face. "God Koby! Sneaking up on me!?" He started laughing, grabbing his stomach. She was still trying to catch her breath.

"Weren't you the one sneaking around?" He was still chuckling, his face a hot shade of red.

"Wait... Is Rose here?" She asked looking around for traces of tramp.

"No.. I just came over." He was calm, and seemed slightly intoxicated. Rayna stormed around the corner to see the cans of beer on the coffee table.

"So you came over for free beer, huh?" She put her hands on her hips, looking like a disappointed mother. Koby gave her a cheeky smile.

"It's the least you could do to repay me for leaving me... for a shoot" He used his fingers to make quotations around shoot. Making it obvious he didn't believe her.

"Okay... Not gonna lie... Jake needed me this morning. I'm still his friend, and I told you that." She bit her lip. Trying to look more believable. But he wasn't buying.

"Bullshi-" He was about to lay it all down. To tell her she is a horrible liar, to which she'd deny of coarse. But Rayna's hand was around his neck and her lips placed on his. She new the right way to shut the boy up. and she was pretty good at it.

Rayna spent most of Friday at home sketching and eating. After waking up to her phone ringing she felt kind of sick. She had forgotten about her shoot she had in the mroning and missed out on quite the pay check. She could hear Rose and Koby downstairs. She was trying to block them out but every once and a while she could hear Rose giggling. It made Rayna sick. Finally around 3pm she decided she would leave. She walked downstairs, passed the two cuddled on the couch, without saying a word. She got in her car and just drove around. She didn't really feel like going anywhere, yet she didn't want to stay in that house with them. She could always go to Koby's and just be there. Like he had been at her house. Wait for him until he was alone. Then again he might end up coming in with Rose and... Then she realized she still had someone. She had Jake, who had tried so hard to help her and be close to her. She drove over to his place and parked around the corner, debating whether she should actually go in or not.

After a half hour of listening to the radio, Rayna got out of her car and headed towards Jake's. After knocking on the door, Andrew face was seen opening the front door. Rayna smiled, trying to make things less awkward. "Hey... Is Jake here?" She asked. Andrew just closed the door in her face without a word of recognition. She then took out her cellphone and began calling Jake's cell. No answer. She started walking around to the back where she walked through the back sliding door. She was going to talk to Jake, whether he wanted to or not. She walked up to his room where she knocked on the door. Still no answer so she just started to slowly open the door to see Andrew and Jake playing video games. "Have a minute?" Rayna asked, walking over to Jake. Jake nodded to Andrew, and as he left he closed the door. "I'm tired of your games Rayna." He said trying not to give in. "I'm sorry. I just haven't been feeling myself lately." Jake looked into her eyes. They made his heart beat faster and his knees weak. "I've been feeling the same way, just not myself I guess.." Rayna started to smile, taking a seat next to Jake. "So does this mean we're okay?" She asked with hope in her eyes.

"So does this mean we're okay?" Rayna's words lingered in the air. Jake turned his head to look at the girl sitting next time him. A sigh escaped his pursed lips. Once more, he'd surrender to her; he didn't want to go back to where was the first time.

"I love you more than anything, Rayna," Jake took both of Rayna's hands in his, looking deep into her eyes. "You're meant to be telling me what's wrong, telling me things so I can fix them, help you. I'm your boyfriend," Jake shook his head, "And you're not treating me like one," He concluded. Had to say the truth some time, Jake thought.

Jake gave Rayna a moment to process the new information before continuing. "I love you," He said again, pressing his lips to her cheek. "I get worried when I don't hear from you, when I don't know where you are or who you're with. I worry because I care, and when you hide things from me, I don't see the point in me caring for you, especially if you push me away like you did," Jake explained. He began to sound older than Rayna, almost putting Rayna in a position of foolishness. But she remained silent, her eyes looked empty.

"I know we're going really slow, but it's still a relationship," Jake said, sounding official. "And a relationship is honesty, truth, and trust, but right now, I don't see any of it," He stopped talking and looked down at their hands. For a moment or two, there was silence.

Jake began thinking of his own secret - the thoughts that began rising in his mind more often than not. He couldn't tell Rayna about them, because she wouldn't understand. She wouldn't be able to cope with it, nor would Jake. It's just a phase, it's just a phase, he thought over and over again. But what he said to Rayna was true. He loved her and he loved her more than anything. But that didn't stop the thoughts flooding his mind when she wasn't around.

"I'm sorry," Rayna whispered. There sounded like there was recognition in her voice. Jake smiled, looking up at her. She was already looking into his eyes. Jake released her hands and wrapped his arms around her body.

"I love you," He whispered into her ear, burying his head in her hair. His embrace was firm, and he felt like he had missed so much between them, as if there was too much distance. He squeezed his eyes shut and felt Raynas hands move their way around his back, almost like a comforting gesture. Her head found the crook of his neck and rested there. Jake breathed in and sighed. She still wouldn't say it back.

Rayna wasn't sure if she loved him. With Koby still on her mind it was hard to say the word. She sat back on the bed. "Did you want me to invite Andrew back to play your video games?" She asked, trying to please him. She knew that she really hurt him. He shook his head. "I really just want to be with you right now. Andrew will understand." Rayna cringed. She felt so... suffocated by Jake sometimes. Like he was obsessive. I guess that's what happens when you fall in love.. She sighed as he sat back down next to her. His words "a relationship is honesty, truth, and trust," echoed in her head.

"Jake. I'm really sorry..." She said once more as he was turning on the tv. "I still have feelings for Koby. That's why I was acting weird..." She watched his every move as he turned the tv back off.

"Oh..." He said quietly avoiding her eyes.

"And I know what I said must hurt you but I wanted to be honest. I figured I could tell you the truth without being judged. You trust me right?" He nodded but still wouldn't look her in the eyes.

"I do trust you.. But Koby? After everything?" He said. Rayna felt judged and almost like he didn't trust her.

"I am just telling you what I feel! I know it doesn't make sense to you, god, it doesn't even make sense to me!" She explained, trying to keep her voice calm.

"Whatever Rayna." He said as he walked out of the room. She heard him walk downstairs and into the kitchen, leaving her alone in his room. Um.. what just happened?

Koby. After absolutely everything, she still likes Koby. Jake was sour, standing in the kitchen, looking at Andrew who was looking back at Jake in silence. She told him because it was the truth, because she trusted him and he needed honesty. But what bullshit was that honest piece of information! Jake was guilty, after all, he was thinking things she would probably freak out over because well, it was a new random feeling. Jake had considered telling Andrew, but thought better of it. Rose was already onto him about it, if he told Andrew, he was certain everybody would find out. He didn't doubt the Rose probably already told Koby as well. Sighing, Jake boiled the kettle to start a hot cup of tea. He looked back at the stairs, hoping that Rayna would come down stairs, but she didn't. He frowned and started towards them.

"How about you leave, and we forget about this and start fresh tomorrow?" Jake said quietly while he stood in his door frame. Rayna just looked at him as if he slapped her. Jake sighed once more and went back downstairs. He felt guilty for not telling her. He hoped the guilt would leave if she did.

It was Tuesday when Jake said he'd finally spend time with her and kept his word. They ended up making lunch together and watching a movie before getting all dressed up for dinner. Rayna decided she wouldn't bring up how he's been ignoring her and how he's been putting so much anxiety on her. With another week of being "busy" and hardly eating, Rayna was feeling almost like a ghost to Jake. She had almost gone to Koby because of how bad she was feeling. Koby had always seemed to be her rock before he locked her out. Literally. She might have been locked out, but he wasn't locked out of her mind. Every time Jake wouldn't be there, Koby would be. In her mind.

The dinner was nice, the talk was casual, it almost felt rehearsed. They got in the car and began to drive home, stuffed from the overpriced meals they had. "Jake, I need to get some more stuff from my house.. Okay?" It had been around 2 weeks since she had been to the sorority, she was technically living at Jake's. Yet, with him always gone, it didn't feel like home. Jake took the right turns to the house and stopped by the front steps. "I'll be waiting in the car, don't be long." Rayna nodded as she headed inside. She noted that Koby wasn't there since his car hadn't been out front. Rushed, she went to her room and gathered the things she had been longing. Lotions, face masks, her red purse, and other miscellaneous items. She was walking downstairs when she noticed Rose's door open. There were boxes on the floor, moving boxes. Right when she went back on her way, Rose was at her face. "Moving out huh? Free living wasn't good enough for you?" Of course Rose wouldn't be able to accept her life was easy.

"We're being kicked out.. You included." She barked. She was not in a good mood, that was obvious.

"Wait.. What?" Then 2+2 made 4. "Oh.. It's Jasmine's family. She warned me about this. I guess I forgot.." Rayna stood there, kind of disappointed. This was her palace, that was being taken away.

"Yeah well you have a month to get out before they start taking our stuff." Rose said before turning back into her room and closing the door in Rayna's face. She saw some boxes in the hall and brought them to her room. "Better start packing.." Rayna sighed.

Five minutes. Seven minutes. Ten minutes. Turn the radio on. Fifteen minutes.

Jake moaned. He wasn't stupid. He knew what Rayna had been doing. She had been running off to Koby's house, just like Rose had said. For every time Rayna had gone somewhere out of the blue, Jake knew it was Koby's house. It had been fifteen minutes he was waiting in the car. Rayna said she only had a couple of things to grab. He grabbed his keys out of the car, turning off the radio. He got out, slamming the car door behind him, jogging up the stairs pissed off. Rayna was already quickly moving down the stairs. Jake's eyes were wild with anger.

"Oh, sorry for keeping you waiting," Rayna said quietly, starting to move past Jake. "Let's go," she cocked her head towards the front door. Jake stood still, shaking his head.

"You know what I'm sick of?" Jake said simply, almost sounding happy in the menacing tone the sentence implied. Rayna turned around to face Jake, a look of confusion sweeping her features.

"Huh? What are you talking about?" Rayna asked. Jake laughed.

"I'm sick of knowing the truth, and you hiding it from me," Jake said, answering his own question, ignoring Rayna's. Rayna still looked confused, and now, a little shocked.

"What are you talking about?" She asked again, a little more strongly. She placed her things on the ground in front of her, her hands on her hips.

"I know you're seeing Koby, Rayna," Jake shook his head, his voice like ice. "What happened to y'know, trust and honesty!" He almost shouted at her, trying to keep his calm. He never shouted; he wouldn't shout now.

"What... I... " Rayna was shunned into silence.

"What a girlfriend you are! Always too busy for your boyfriend and you know what? I bet you're cheating," Jake ended the sentence crystal clear - a shot of venom injected straight from his words to her heart. Rayna's eyes narrowed, and she was about to speak when Jake started again.

"But you know what? I don't think I care, I don't think I care anymore," He slowly started to pace in front of Rayna, walking towards her, controlling the volume of his voice. "You know, I thought I loved you," Jake shook his head, laughing, "But boy was I wrong," Jake shook his head and stopped in front of Rayna.

"What are you trying to say, Jake? You don't love me anymore?" Rayna shouted at him, water forming in her eyes. For some reason, it brought pleasure to Jake. There was nothing in him anymore that grounded him to Rayna. Anger was taking it's toll on him, bringing the worst out of him. All he saw was red, all he felt was the anger that pulsed through his veins.

"No, Rayna, I don't think I do," He whispered at her face, his words like ice. "Because I don't think I can be with someone who likes someone else," Half way throughout his sentence, a figure walked through the door. Jake looked up and Rayna turned around, water rolling over her cheeks.

"Rayna?" Koby said as he saw the tears roll down Rayna's face.

"Go home, Koby, please," Rayna's voice was choking on tears, begging him to leave. Jake glared at Koby. He wouldn't talk to him at all.

"What's going on?" Koby asked, walking forward. By now, Rose had walked out, leaning on the railing above the stairs.

"Leave, Koby, that's what Rayna said," Rose snapped at him. Koby narrowed his eyes up at her, grimacing.

"Are you okay?" He asked Rayna, walking towards her.

"Back off! Just fuck off, Koby!" Jake almost yelled, his voice as loud as it had ever been. Rayna remained silent, turning her back to Koby, her shoulders shaking. Koby glared back at Jake, but he laughed. His laughed was cold and low, striking Jake in the gut.

"It's funny, I guess I see why Rayna always comes to see me when you have a fight," Koby shrugged. Jake looked like he was about to lunge at Koby and hit him, but he didn't.

"Koby! Shut up!" Rayna hissed at him. The room fell silent for a moment while the boys composed themselves. Rose slowly made her way to the stairs, sitting at the top one, watching the show. Slowly, Jake began to speak.

"Rayna is my girlfriend, so back off," Jake said calmly. He started walking up to Rayna, he walked backwards. She was now standing in between Koby and Jake. "We wouldn't be having this issue if you would just leave," Jake added. Rayna began to slowly shake her own head.

"No Jake, we wouldn't be having this problem if you could talk to me when things are wrong," She whispered quickly and quietly. "You never have enough time for me anymore, you're always out doing something, while I'm always sitting around your house, waiting for you to come home," Rayna's voice broke multiple times, water flowing down her cheeks. Rose had quickly come down the stairs to stand behind her, to rub her back. Despite their differences, Rose knew that Rayna was in trouble, and a girlfriend wouldn't hurt. Jake was taken back by the words Rayna shot at him, silencing him. Koby stood beside Rayna, cocky. But Rayna moved backwards, away from both of the boys, and into Rose's arms.

"Maybe you should leave, Jake," Koby said quietly. Immediately, Jake shot a glare at Koby.

"You know what?" Jake said happily, before lunging towards Koby, throwing a punch into the air of where Koby's face had been before he quickly moved.

"Stop!" Rayna shouted. The boys stilled, but in silence, Jake briskly walked out of the sorority and headed home.

Rayna felt the tension, but chose to ignore it. She wouldn't let Koby's bad mood ruin her day. But as she walked up Jake's steps she began to feel sick. Visions of him yelling at her flashed through her mind. She put her hand on the wall and leaned over as she tried to shake the images out. She wanted a fresh start, and an explanation for where he always was and why he was always so busy. She finally was ready to knock on the door when the door opened. "Hey..." Jake said awkwardly. Rayna looked at him, he seemed normal. She walked inside and they both sat down on the couch. "Sorry about yesterday... I guess I've just been going through some stuff.." He said quietly. Rayna's eyebrow raised,

"You've been going through some stuff for weeks Jake. Weeks." She crossed her arms and was not impressed.

"I want answers." She kept her face straight and crossed her legs. She watched as he fiddled with his fingers and looked at his crotch.

"Rayna you know I love you... I didn't mean what I said yesterday.." She was about to fight back but she decided to wait and see what he was going to say.

"I know I haven't spent much time with you. I've either been at school or.... At a therapist..." He breathed out and looked her in the eyes. Things were clicking but she was still clueless to what was going on.

The look on Rayna's face was more or less concerning. Jake started taking deep breathes, either from hyperventilation, or pure nervousness, he couldn't tell. He tried his best to continuing looking in her eyes, but he found it difficult, and settled for looking at his fingers again.

"Why?" Rayna asked, her voice barely a whisper. Jake sighed, biting his lower lip.

"Because," He said through gritted teeth. He didn't know whether to tell her here and now, or wait for a better time and place. He knew he should have told Andrew first, since he knew all along and was most concerned, but Rayna had a right to know. Jake's eye brows knitted together, and waves formed in his eyes. "I feel like I let you down, Ray," Jake whispered, still looking down at his hands.

"So what, you're seeing a relationship counselor?" She asked in disbelief. Jake quickly shook his head.

"No, no, no. Nothing like that, uh," His eyes were hesitant and he turned around to face the kitchen, wondering where Andrew was. Probably out filming, but to be sure, he wanted Rayna to hear in private. "Can we talk somewhere where other ears won't hear?" He asked, looking up slightly to see her face. She looked confused and uncertain, but nodded, standing up and walking up the stairs towards his room. Jake sighed, and began following her. She sat down on his bed, and he remained standing, pacing in front of the closed door.

"Rayna, I've been getting therapy because I've been having thoughts that I don't like having," Jake began. "I mean, they're not bad... Well I don't think they are, but...-"

"Are you depressed?" Rayna almost half shouted in concern, her voice already cooing. Again, Jake shook his head, his eyes closed but his feet kept walking.

"Rayna, I'm bisexual," Jake said finally, standing on the spot. He still looked down at his hands, confused and his face covered in a nice shade of red.

Rayna was flustered. She stood up then sat back down. "Rayna, it's not you-" He began.

"It's not you it's me? Are you kidding me? Jake! This isn't funny!" She interrupted. She was now angry. What is he trying to pull? Did him and Rose team up? She stood up, not even able to look at him.

"You think I'd kid about this? This took me a lot of courage to tell you.. I love you and wanted to fix this." He said with concern. But Rayna was not having it.

"You can't be bi! You say you love me but I bet you love Andrew don't you!?" She yelled. She could hear footsteps in the hall but she couldn't take it. "Jake. I can't believe this. If this is your excuse to break up with me. Then fine." She sobbed. She turned towards the door with tears falling on her rose shaded cheeks. Now she was just sad. If he loved me wouldn't he just pretend or push those feeling away? As she opened the door Andrew was there. "What? Are you okay?" She stormed passed him and down the stairs. Rayna could hear Jake calling after her but she was done. This conversation was done. She walked out of the house and cried her way back home. What a wonderful night to an awful morning.

"You can't be bi! You say you love me but I bet you love Andrew don't you!?" Rayna's words hit Jake hard, threatening to tear him apart from the inside out. "Jake. I can't believe this. If this is your excuse to break up with me. Then fine," Rayna began to cry and walked out of his room.

"It's not something I can simply control Rayna!" Jake shouted after her, meeting Andrew in the hall who gave him a doubtful look. "Rayna! Come back!" He yelled.

"Give it up," Andrew sighed. Jake threw a glare at him. "If you two keep fighting, it obviously won't work," Andrew shrugged. Jake had the urge to punch him, as much as he wanted to punch Koby the day before. He narrowed his eyes.

"What happened anyway?" Andrew asked. Jake bit his bottom lip and shook his head.

"I'm bi," He mumbled, walking away before Andrew had the chance to question him.

Jake ran down the stairs, trying to catch up with Rayna, but she was already out of the door and in the street. Jake pursed his lips and figured he'd drop it for now. They've had too many fights in 24 hours to cause enough trouble. Jake stood in the door way, leaning on the frame. It wasn't his fault he was bi. Hell, it was probably Andrew's fault for all he cared, he just wanted an excuse. After everything, Rayna couldn't have just stayed and tried to understand that it's not something he chose. He squeezed his eyes shut, trying to hold in the tears that threatened to tear him apart. He couldn't lose her. It was killing him to see her like this, hating him for what he has caused and for what he has become. There have been too many secrets in the relationship; that was the last one that needed to be heard. Guilt overran Jake's thoughts, of how much trust Rayna had put in him about Koby. But he didn't return that trust. He threw it back in her face without telling her about his feelings, about his being bi.

Angrily, Jake slowly slid to the floor, his back on the door frame, looking down his drive way. Slightly, Andrew came up behind him, laying a hand on his head. "You're not going to go backwards, you came to far," He said calmly. Jake resisted the urge to look up at the boy who had seen him as a role model. "You should go after her, see if you can fix it," Andrew said before shrugging and walking off. Was that it? He wasn't going to ask any questions about how, why, who? Jake opened his eyes and rubbed them before slowly standing up. He would go to his room and have a drink or two, play a couple of games and then go to sleep. He wouldn't want to go see Rayna. Everything would just turn to worse and everything would be his fault again. He didn't care if he would go backwards, it would be better than seeing what was ahead of him. He saw himself standing alone - without Rayna.

Stubbornly, after almost half an hour, he brought himself to his feet and sluggishly reached for his car keys. He would see Rayna, and he would try to fix things. Things shouldn't have been left this way, and if it was truly the end, he wouldn't want it to end like that. He didn't bother yelling out to Andrew and telling him where he was heading. Besides, he would probably get a kick out of being right once more. Jake headed towards his car, and drove towards the sorority.

Rose slowly rolled out of her bed that she had buried herself in. She wasn't pleased about the events that went down last night. If anything, she felt responsible. Although she didn't shed one tear, Rose felt bad. She had teased Jake about being bi, and had told Rayna that Jake was bi, and although neither of them believed her, she knew the truth was going to be spilled and Rayna would need someone yet again. The poor girl couldn't handle a thing on her own. She's lucky to have friends like Rose and Koby. Despite her sour thoughts, Rose cared for the girl, and hated how she so easily took advantage for the two boys who waited on their toes, like puppies for her every word. It had sickened Rose. But the hypocritical realisation never sunk in until she rolled over and checked the time. Rose was exactly what she had hated in Rayna. She rolled her eyes and sat up in bed, smoothing her hair down. I am nothing like what Rayna had been! she told herself. She might have almost believed it, but she was prepared for the party she wanted to attend to that night. Groaning internally, she accepted the fact she was everything she hated, but she enjoyed the fun that came her way.

The unlocking of the front door and the rushing words of wisdom of Ms James. was heard. Rose frowned and pulled on a robe around her figure and walked out of room to the railing, where she could look to the bottom near the entrance. There was Rayna, crying into Ms James' arms. Rose smirked and quickly walked down the stairs. Ms James' gave her a warning glance before passing over the sobbing girl who cried harder once in Rose's arms. "Shh, Rayna baby girl, what's wrong?" Rose asked quietly, calmly, guiding the crying girl into the lounge room.

"J-Jake...Bi...oh my gosh..." Rayna said in between sobs, pressing her head into Rose's arms. Rose frowned, but soon became pleased with herself, a small, discreet curve played on her lips. She ran her hands along Rayna's back in comfort and sat them down on the couch, where she held Rayna close.

"Aw, Rayna, darling. I don't want to say it, but I must. I warned you, told you even," Rose said, pursing her lips. She raised her eyebrows, but then hummed to Rayna the flowing words of 'it'll be okay, you'll be fine'.

"I-I know, b-but,-"

"Shh, shh," Rose shushed her. "I can't understand you when you're crying, speak when you're alright," Rose said. She closed her eyes and placed her head on top of Rayna's. Her sobs slowed to little sniffles which stopped completely when she spoke.

"I know, but he loved me. He loved me. And now he's bi! How can someone change like that so quickly!" Rayna's voice was weak and small, but Rose understood to a great length. She nodded.

"I know, but it tends to happen, darling. It'll be okay though," Rose stopped mid sentence when she heard footsteps. She thought it may have been Ms James but for the fact some male voice called out Rayna's name, it seemed to disturb her.

"Leave!" Rose shouted, her voice filled with authority that she imagined no else thought she had. A male quickly made their way into the lounge room where Rose and Rayna were. Rose narrowed her eyes at Jake, a glare easily plastered on her face. "Go away! Can't you see you've done enough damage!?" Rose shouted at her, shielding Rayna with her body.

"Please, let me just speak to her, I know it's bad but-" Jake held his arms out, pleading. Rose was adamant, shaking her head.

"Piss off!" Rose stood up, holding Rayna's hand, placing her body in between them. Rose guided Rayna back out to the entrance where Jake followed them.

"It's none of your fucking goddamn business anyway, you bitch!" Jake shouted back. Rose was surprised. He actually shouted. Turning on her heel, she faced him. Rayna was pressed up against a wall where Rose shoved her. Rose bit her lip, narrowing her eyes.

"You would have the guts to call me names, hey, gay boy," Rose crossed her arms across her chest. Jake's face was red with fury, his hands balled into fits.

"Oh if I could I wou-"

"Enough!!" Rayna shouted, her voice echoing through out the house.

She was done with lies. She was done with fake friendship. But mostly, she was done with Jake. She had stopped crying and looked over at Rose. "I'm okay." As Rose's hips swayed, she walked off into the kitchen to join Mrs. James who was eavesdropping. Rayna stepped closer to Jake. "I know what you're going through must be tough. I don't understand and I probably never will. But you have to know that this is just as hard for me." He stepped closer and lifted Rayna's chin.

"I know. I'll try to be here for you." He sighed, she could tell they were both on the verge of crying.

"So no more therapy sessions?" Jake averted his eyes. "So you'll be here for me when I'm alseep? Just like usual?" Rayna turned back and started walking away but her arm was grabbed.

"Well I'm not done with therapy. I'm working through this, trying to figure out what this means for me. For us." Rayna was hurt. She knew things wouldn't change.

"Jake. I need someone who is willing to be what I need, Rayna happened to glance out the window and see her favorite cuddle buddy. "like Koby" She mumbled. Bringing wide eyes to Jake.

"Is that who dropped you off this morning? God Rayna! I'm trying to figure myself out and you're with that no good asshole?" His words stung her heart. Koby was a lot more genuine than that.

"Shouldn't I be part of this?! I mean we are supposed to be a couple! Together! But you wouldn't even tell me where you were all the time!" She yelled. They were both raising their voices.

"Don't change the subject! Did you spend the night with Koby?!" Rayna had had enough. She walked away and upstairs to her room. Slamming and locking the door. That relationship was over and she didn't plan on ever going to him again. He always avoided issues and couldn't talk things out. But Koby was different. Ugh! Get out of my head! She began taking some advil. All the screaming had given her a major migraine. She pulled out her phone as Koby skipped through her mind a few more times. Maybe he is the one... I'm such an idiot.
