Damian Lorraine

"Fancy a race?"

a character in “The Project of Warren High”, as played by Flexar

Description

Image
ImageAge: Damian has lost track due to the fact that he hasn't really bothered to count. He looks 16, so he just goes with that.
"Pfft, like age means anything around here."

Sex and Sexuality: Male and probably straight; nobody's quite sure, not even Damian.
"Yep, definitely a guy."

Species and Appearance: Damian is a Sylph/Dryad crossbreed. Both are considered variants of faeries; Sylphs are linked to air and Dryads are linked to earth. Both tend to live in forests and were revered by old, pagan religions as minor deities. Unfortunately for Damian, they have not retained their importance to humans. They are often rather shy of people, a trait that Damian has certainly not inherited. They bear a perfect physical resemblance of humans apart from their golden eyes, oddly-coloured hair and transparent, insect-like wings. However, their supernatural senses and magic are what set them apart from most humans. As faeries they are all vegetarian, and meat will make them sick for days.
"I'm not a stereotypical bedtime story fairy, mind you."

Glamour appearance: As a faerie, Damian's glamour does not need to alter his appearance a great deal. He retains his messy, neck length, silvery blue hair; it looks odd but Damian rather likes it. He also retains his lithe build, pale skin and his natural height of 5'8", neither particularly tall nor short. His glamour visibly removes his wings, turns his golden eyes hazel and reduces the sharpness of his canines so that they look plausibly human. The most important feature of his glamour is that it puts a bind on his air magic, stopping him from zooming around at uncontrollable speeds.

When given the freedom of choosing his own clothes Damian isn't very fussy about what he wears. Usually he wears light-coloured, short-sleeved shirts and pale trousers, but no socks or shoes; as a half-Dryad he has thick soles that easily deal with rough terrain, and he also prefers to be able to feel the ground beneath him. Sometimes he won't even bother with shirts, not to show off his physique (he's toned but hardly ripped), but to feel more at one with nature. He'd probably ditch trousers too, if he could get away with it.
"Shoes disrupt my balance."

Powers/Abilities:
  • Aeromancy - As a half-Sylph, Damian has a natural talent for aeromancy. It is the stronger of his two schools of magic, maybe too much so. When it is not being restricted by his glamour it causes him to move at superhuman speeds, which is great for getting around, but not so great for anyone easily startled. Damian is careful enough not to bump into people, but that doesn't mean that he won't accidentally give them a fright. His aeromancy can be used to enhance his physical capabilities (his speed being the most obvious example) and it can also be used to create air turbulence away from his body, ranging from a gentle breath of air to a full force gale. If he goes overboard with his magic it will leave him physically drained, but he usually recovers quickly.
  • Geomancy - His Dryad heritage grants him the power of geomancy, although it is not as strong as his aeromancy. It cannot be used to enhance his physical capabilities, but works better as defensive magic. It allows him to manipulate the ground around him as well as any nearby plant life, although Damian only manipulates plants when he needs to. Like his aeromancy it requires energy, but to a lesser extent since he can only cast low to medium level geomancy spells.
  • Heightened Senses - As a faerie Damian's senses are much greater than those of humans, particularly his sense of smell and sense of hearing.
  • Bestial Linguist - Damian is capable of communicating with all non-aquatic forms of life, and usually gets on very well with them. Amphibians are a grey area for him; he can get the gist of what they say, but never understand them in detail.
  • Guitarist - Less impressive than his other skills, but Damian is a capable guitarist. He owns both an electric and steel-string acoustic guitar and spends a fair deal of his spare time playing them.
"Pretty neat, huh?"

Weaknesses:
  • Control - Or lack thereof. Damian is more than capable of wielding powerful magic, but he isn't so brilliant at keeping it under control. When not bound by his glamour, his aeromancy causes him to zoom around like a blur. Moving at such speeds is great for Damian, but not so great for anyone nearby. He is also poor at gauging his magic and often goes overboard with it by mistake.
  • Attention - Trying to hold Damian's attention is like trying to hold a lubricated cube of melting ice with a mind of its own; it is nigh impossible. He isn't great at paying attention in class, but he isn't stupid, so he is able to stumble along with mostly B's. He also has the awkward habit of staring off into space when someone is trying to talk to him, but means no offense by it.
  • Sitting Still - Damian likes to be constantly doing something, and gets irate and fidgety when he has to remain still. This is particularly bad during class, as he often hums to himself loudly and drums his desk with his fingers.
"I'm only superhuman."

Personality:
| Energetic | Friendly | Pragmatic | Hyperactive | Naive |

If Damian could be summed up in a single word, it would be hyperactive. He is always trying to find something to do and runs around the campus like a headless chicken, even in his glamour form. He is a very outgoing young man, without a doubt to the point of being considered eccentric. He is very sociable and will take even the slightest opportunity to go and talk to someone; making new friends can never be a bad thing. However, many find his never-ending sugar rush irritating, so he isn't popular with everyone. He doesn't mind, though, if he were friends with everyone he wouldn't have any close friends.

Damian spends most of his time performing fast-paced, physically strenuous activities such as running, climbing, flying and practicing magic. They give him a chance to release pent up energy and to make himself stronger. Another such activity that you might not expect him to enjoy is sparring. Damian isn't a very big guy, so people don't expect him to be much of a fighter, but his magic more than makes up for what he lacks in raw physical strength. His aeromancy provides him with both speed and power, and his geomancy can be used for both offence and defence. He can frequently be found squaring off against much bigger monsters around campus, and what's more is that he usually wins. The best way to earn Damian's respect is to give him a decent fight, win or lose.

Damian isn't big on other activities that require him to sit still, such as reading. It's not that he's stupid, he just builds up energy remarkably quickly. He does alright in school, but he often finds it hard to focus and stay still during lessons. Damian is a pragmatist and much prefers doing over thinking. However, it is possible, but extremely difficult, to grab his attention for long periods of time.
"Let's be friends!"

Are you a friend or foe of humans? Or neutral?: Damian is rather cautious around humans, for he understands how little it takes for them to bar out anything they consider unnatural, but otherwise treats them like he treats everyone else. In fact, he's hoping to make friends with at least one of the new human transfer students; if it can be proved that humans and supernaturals can live and work together then perhaps other humans would be willing to try.
"I kinda feel sorry for humans, they don't live very long. They're pretty slow, too."

History: Damian doesn't remember how long ago he was born, but he remembers his birthday: the 15th of October. He was born to a sylph father and a dryad mother in a small, country village inhabited by humans. His parents hid him and themselves under a constant glamour, but glamour could not fully hide their identity. As a faerie Damian grew up far more slowly than humans, so the family had to constantly move from town to town to conceal their identity. Damian never enjoyed the constant moving around, but he put up with it for a while. Eventually he decided that he had had enough of constantly pretending to be human, so he put some effort into finding out what he could do to not have to conceal his true identity. He found out about Warren High and nagged his parents to send him there until they reluctantly allowed him to. He packed his bags and set off to what he was sure would be a fresh start on life. He's been at the school for a year so far, and so far so good.
"Nothing tragic, I'm afraid."

Built majestically upon the top of a mountain range, surrounded by evergreen pine forests and valleys is an old castle, beautiful and elegant; particularly at sunrise when the warm rays first hit the spiral of each tower. Quiet for a short while the hidden landmark is once again open as a boarding school.

On this particular day the sun is shining bright and warm and the sky is clear; but the shadows are cold and there is a slight chill to air. Students of all shapes and sizes have approached the school, wearing their fresh uniforms, trailing baggage behind them fit for a long term at school. For some; more baggage is being sent in preparation for the entire year.

Unknown to the students, there is a slight change to this school year. A species that hasn't yet set foot in the school is mingling within the crowd, disguised by the general mob of uniforms and mayhem.

Warren High Boarding school has undertaken a project. One that will change the lives of all the students involved.

A warning bell rings out and it causes the students to file into two seperate assembly halls after a few straddles check in at reception.

In one hall, fresh-faced human children are seated. Nervous, eager and hopelessly naïve. Human teachers crowd behind them, listening just as eagerly as their students.

A woman, intimidating in both stature and beauty stands before them, icy eyes wondering over the sea of heads. Amanda Vogue, head mistress of Warren High, a mysterious figure built upon fear and rumours. Terrifying visually, from her masculine suit to her snarling, bow shaped lips. She wore the word terrifying like a shade of lipstick.

She never usually gave a speech this early, but things were different this year.

"Good afternoon and welcome, my name is Amanda Vogue, but you will all address me as Head Mistress." She began, giving a few figity students a longer stare than others. "At the start of the school year it is tradition for students to settle into their shared rooms on arrival and meet their fellow students before starting lessons the following day, however, I want to let you know a few important things first. Number one, there are no dropouts, runaways, rule breakers or clowns at this boarding school- you're here to learn and here you will stay. Number two, this school is special, it has traditions, secrets, I expect students of this school to be respectful of these things. Last of all, this is a respected facility and it is a privilege to be here, I assure you all that this will be an experience you will never forget..."

After addressing the human students Amanda Vogue made her way through a short corridor until she came to a second large hall. She hesitated outside the doors leading in before letting out an aspirated sigh and pushing open the doors. It unleashed a chaos of noise. Students of all kinds littered the hall, loud and obnoxious, snarling and laughing. She took her place at the front of the hall and after realising that no one had noticed her enter, let out a horrifying shriek. The hall quickly fell silent. The older students who'd been at the school for a while sat round respectably, the new students jumped in their seats. Startled.

She stared at them all, letting her glamour slip slightly to reveal some skeletal before giving a slightly different speech.

"Im sure you've all heard the rumours circulating about the 'human project' the school has taken on. Therefore I will address this first. It is true, that approximately half of the new students joining this year are human. This is an opportunity to prove to the council that this school raises students of the highest calibre no matter the species. It is a project we take very seriously, any student who is seen to jeopardise this great opportunity will be punished and expelled. I expect you all to make the new students feel welcome.
Now I am Amanda Vogue, Head Mistress of Warren High Boarding school..."

She continued to list similar introductions to the monster students as she did with the human students, Aware that her words were falling on a few deaf ears. The up coming year was to be a difficult one. She was a wolf, running a school for cat and mice.

What appeared to be a bundle of black bags was shuffling its way up towards the gates of Warren High, and a quiet grumbling noise could be heard from within the cluster. Upon closer inspection one could notice a few strands of silvery blue hair and two small, bare feet sticking out. Beneath all the bags was a small young man, if man was the right word. This young man was in fact a faerie, one of the more human students who attended Warren, with the exception of the new humans, of course. This faerie was Damian Lorraine. He was usually running around like a headless chicken with rocket boosters, but this wasn't an easy task when carrying two guitars, an amplifier and a suitcase that was full to the brim, especially when you were only 5'8". Transporting them would have been an easy task with his wind magic, but he couldn't cast wind magic while his glamour was up, and glamours had to be kept up until 17:00. In addition, this was the first year humans were being allowed in, and the headmistress had explicitly ordered students to keep a lid on things. The thought of the headmistress' rage sent shivers up his spine; he'd been on the wrong end of it once after causing a bit too much destruction during a friendly duel against a demon, who had suffered the same fate as Damian.

Damian let out a loud and weary sigh after he had dumped his bags at reception for them to be taken to his room. Since he didn't need anything but his suitcase, he didn't qualify to have someone assist him with his luggage. Well, that was in the past now, his bags would be taken to his room by somebody else. In the meantime he filed into the assembly hall with the rest of Warren's monsters.

"Now I am Amanda Vogue, Head Mistress of Warren High Boarding school..."
Damian was almost asleep by now, he knew that humans would be attending the school and the headmistress was just reciting the speech from last year. He'd been here for a year, he knew how things worked. He was aware that he wasn't the only person dozing off; he could even hear someone snoring behind him. He wondered who he'd be in a room with this year as he surveyed the hall for new faces.

Damian filed out along with the other students once the assembly had finished, his hands in his pockets and whistling to himself. He must have looked odd to the new, human students who were also milling about in reception; when going to a prestigious boarding school you would hardly be expecting to see a young man with unruly, silvery blue hair, bare feet, an untucked and half-unbuttoned shirt and a tie so loose its knot was hanging down over his chest. He could tell he was getting stares from new, human students, but it didn't bother him; dress code was going to be the least of their worries. What Damian had to worry about was finding out which room he would be in, and he had no idea where he would find such information.

Emily Bennett~

A sigh escaped through her parted lips as her parents neared towards the gates of her new school. She lowered her head and blonde locks of hair soon followed as she flickered her eyes up to stare at the scenery. Emily stayed silent for most of the ride - Mainly because she absolutely hated change, especially when it is unexpected. Her father glanced at her in the rearview mirror and spoke. "Cheer up, honey. I'm sure you'll do just fine." Emily quirked her lips up then lowered them back down to size. Her mother seemed to be happy as the car came to an instant stop. "We're here. Do you want us to come in with you?" Her mother asked. Emily shook her head no as she grabbed her luggage and got out of the vehicle. She stared at the building and felt a little odd about this. She wanted to get back in the car but saw that her parents were already gone.

Emily mustered up a little bit of strength and walked right on into the school, seeing that everyone was scurrying to get somewhere.

She decided to walk along with them, dragging her rolling luggage bags behind her as she entered what seemed to be the auditorium. She sat down in the back, scrunching down in her seat as she listened to the speaker, who name came out to be Amanda Vogue. 'Cute.' Emily thought to herself while smirking a little bit but just shook away the thoughts because Amanda was probably much older than she was. When the speech was over, she instantly jumped up and headed towards the receptionist desk.

Emily was the first one there and she stated her name and was given at least three sheets of paper. "Thanks." She said with a smile, seeing that her room number was 202. As she walked towards her room, getting nearer and nearer, her stomach churned as she hoped that no one was in there - To her surprise, no one was.

She was somewhat relieved to see that she was first in the room as she chose the spot with the most space and started unpacking her clothing along with a notebook full of songs, her journal and sketchbook and her mechanical pencils.

Alyx Giovanni~

Alyx was sitting lazily in the main hall, his leg was dangling over the edge of the chair he was sitting in. His blue eyes danced across the room, scanning the new and familiar faces. He saw his brother pass by and just turned his face up in disgust then rolled his eyes, not really wanting to be bothered by him right now as he had his sights set on his prey, victims or whatever else he wanted to called them. A smirk came over his lips as he jumped up from his seat, walking towards the auditorium to hear that bitch, Amanda, give the same speech as last year - He could bet on it.

While entering the auditorium, he sat beside his brother but still didn't talk to him, for obvious reasons. Alyx sat there with his arms folded over his chest as he listened to Amanda's speech, which was the exact, same one from last year. Why couldn't she come up with something else to say? He looked at her then mocked her. "Now I am Amanda Vogue, Head Mistress of Warren High Boarding school..." He laughed then got up from his seat, walking back into the main hall.

His eyes flashed over towards Damian then walked over there towards him. "Another year here? Can you believe it?" He questioned towards him while leaning up against the wall, stuffing his hands in his pockets. "Hey, watch this..." Alyx said towards Damian as he went to one of the human girls and stared at them directly in the eyes and concentrated, his voice echoing throughout her head as he spoke. "Grab those two blue duffel bags over there and take them to room 191 and sit them on the first bed you see. Thank you." He finished speaking then turned around, walking back towards Damian then leaning back up against the wall, watching the female do his dirty work for him. "Piece of cake." He mumbled.

Alyx didn't bother getting his materials for class and whatever else because he had already gotten them earlier. "I'll catch you around, Damian." He smiled towards him as he walked off, wondering who can his next victim could be.

"Another year here? Can you believe it?"
Damian turned his head to see Alyx approaching him. While they were hardly the best of friends, they new each other well enough and got on fairly well.
"Barely." Damian grinned in response, "I'm surprised they let me back in after the mess I made last year."

"Hey, watch this..."
Damian watched as Alyx went over to one of the human students and used compulsion to get her to take his bags to his room. He shivered slightly; mind control magic had always freaked Damian out, and he wasn't too keen on seeing humans treated like inferior beings, but at least Alyx was using it in a relatively harmless way. Damian chuckled slightly when he remembered that the staff were taking bags to dorms, so Alyx was wasting his time.

"Piece of cake."
"Yeah, but it's been a crumb for everyone else." Damian chuckled, "Staff are taking our bags to our rooms, and you spent your energy getting someone else to do it."

Damian gave Alyx a small wave as he left and went to back to wondering where his room was. Alyx knew where his was, so the information had to be available somewhere. Damian looked around, but nowhere looked particularly conspicuous. So, instead of doing the sensible thing and asking at reception, he decided to sniff his room out. His luggage would have been taken to his room, so if he just followed his own scent then he would be able to find his room.

His nose led him to a room labelled "Room 192". Alyx had said that he would be in room 191, so it looked like they were going to be next-door neighbours for the year. However, Damian's own room was his most pressing concern, so he opened the door and took a step inside. He wasn't the first there; inside was a tall young man with blond hair and blue eyes. Damian was sure he'd seen him before, but had never had any close interaction with him.
"Hey," Damian smiled as he slumped down onto the bed nearest the window, "I'm Damian. Looks like we're gonna be roommates for the year. You're..." Damian paused for a moment while he tried to recall his roommate's name, "Zane, right?"

Zane Ulrich

Zane entered the room and stretched a little as he looked around the room four beds. He wondered who his roommates were as he threw his bags on the bed in the corner the furthest away from the window. He then walked over to the door for the bathroom and looked inside. "Nice..." The demon turned around as the door to his room opened and he looked Damian up and down as he walked over to the bed nearest the window and slumped down.

"Hey,"
Zane nodded to Damien, "Hey..." he began unpacking his cloths and a few other trinkets as he chucked them onto his bed and did some organising as Damien continued talking.

"I'm Damian. Looks like we're gonna be roommates for the year. You're..." Damien paused as Zane stopped unpacking, "Zane, right?"

Zane stopped folding a pair of pants and put them in the dresser, "My names Zathaniel Ulrich, however please call me Zane... only my mother calls me Zathaniel. it's nice to meet you Damien. He glanced around the room, "So I'm guessing we have two more roommates? Do you know whom they are? ... I was hoping for a human." He said smirking a little as he sat down on his bed.

"So I'm guessing we have two more roommates? Do you know whom they are? ... I was hoping for a human."
"Nope, not a clue. Sorry." Damian replied, "It'd be weird rooming with a human, wouldn't it? They're so... well... squishy. They get scared and confused so easily, they're kinda weak and they die so quickly. It would be fun, though."

Damian sat up and surveyed the room for his belongings and saw them propped up in the corner of the room. He got up and moved them one at a time closer to his bed. He slid his guitars under his bed, rested his amplifier against the wall and began to unpack his suitcase. Even though everyone in the room had their own, reasonably-sized chest of drawers, Damian just crammed as much non-specific clothing into each drawer as he could, not even bothering to fold anything up. If any of his roommates had OCD, they were in for a bumpy ride.

"So, another year here, eh?" Damian smiled, "I've heard they've hired humans to teach as well as letting in human students. I wonder if they're as clueless as the human students. This is going to be memorable."

A young girl mumbles curses to the wind as a breeze pushes through, blowing her bangs right into her sight. Anne Luther wanted to make a cool entrance, dammit. She had it all planned out for during her ride in the Taxi; too bad things never go as planned. She saw herself standing tall and proud at the gates of the school while the cab driver would obediently carry out her luggage to her dorm. Anne was ready to establish her readiness right there and then. Instead here she was, wheeling a squeaky black luggage behind her like many of the students.

Anne was in no way missing home, yet. She had said her goodbyes to her parents and siblings. She was done with feeling like a burden to her adopted family. She had discovered the truth about her adoption when she was eight, finally putting two and two together. Anne looked nothing like them. Where as the family had curly brown hair and green eyes, she had unruly black hair and blue eyes. The other part was their absolutely erm, adorable personality. They were generous and sensitive, where as she was fierce and rude. Naturally, it wasn't long for the secret to be kept hidden.

The raven haired female heaved a great sigh as she neared the reception. Thinking about her past at a time like this was a bad choice, how could she miss the warning bell? Anne quickly checked in at reception and left her luggage without so much as a glance around her. True to herself, Anne expresses a bit of her anger in cursing herself for zoning out. The headmistress' speech had already begun when Anne finally took a seat. Despite feeling rushed before entering the auditorium, she felt more obliged to find a seat she was more comfortable in than having to go through some embarrassment. Instead of politely asking other students to move their legs out of the way so can she take a damn seat, she muttered commands equivalent to "Move your legs out of the way, peasant."

Upon taking her seat at the very front, she was given one of the longer stares from the headmistress in which she nervously looked away. She suddenly seemed very interested in her knees as Miss Vogue carried on her with her opening speech. Anne perked up when the headmistress mentioned secrets. Anne furrowed her brows in mild puzzlement. Why would she put that out there? Of course every school has a secret... But was the secret this school harbored something deadly? Ooh, maybe. She shivered a bit in excitement. Now she certainly knew what she will be doing after checking into her room.

After the speech was done and over with, Anne strolled on over to her room along with the other students. She looked down at the key and papers in her hand. She would be rooming with someone named Emily Bennett and Winter Lavine. Just the names seemed mildly interesting.

Anne finally reached the room in which she will be staying in. She tore her blue gaze away from the items in her hand and gazed around her at the architecture of the school. Everything seemed so intricately designed and private. Secluded and wise. As if the building was gazing down at each and every one of the new students with a small, mischievous smile, knowing what they were in for. And so the young girl smiled back up at the ceiling above her. The act may have seemed mildly insane to passerby's, but who cares?

Just as she was about to twist the doorknob and push open the door, she spotted a female next door. She only saw a wisp of long locks of pearly white hair as the unknown female headed into her own room. Anne was snapped out of the oddity of seeing such a hair color on a young person as her face was immediately graced with a smile at the sight of the most adorable little dog trotting behind its owner. Anne shook her head bemusedly and turned her attention back to the door in front of her.

She turned the doorknob and gently pushed open the door. She spotted the other female already inside the room and cleared her throat. "'Sup." Anne suddenly felt nervous and cleared her throat again, she could feel a bit of red pooling around her cheeks. "I'm Anne..." She let out a breath she didn't know she was holding. She was glad introductions were out of the way; she was never really good at social skills with other people. But don't get her wrong, she always like socializing. Anne awkwardly shuffled towards her luggage and chose the bed nearest the window. The young girl heaved a great sigh and sat down onto the mattress with a plop. She refocused her gaze back on the blonde. With pursed lips, she searched for something to say. "So, umm... Nice school, huh?" She should really start planning ahead when it came to speaking with other people.

Vincens was not happy at the thought of attending Warren High for another year. He had arrived early, to his surprise, and already checked in at reception and received the necessary information about his living quarters for the year. He made brief eye contact with his brother, Alyx, as he and many of the other students were rounded into the auditorium. His pursed lips tilted downwards at the sight of Alyx expressing his disgust upon seeing him. It always hurt, seeing his blood brother act that way just at the mention of his presence, but Vince would live with it. He brought it upon himself, after all.

Vince quickly took the nearest open seat and sat down. He fixed the pair of ear buds and pressed the play button from his phone, to which soothing music streamed into his ear and calmed his mind. If anything could be a drug it would be music according to Vincens. Never was he seen without a pair of ear buds on him. He had heard a circulating rumor that this year would include humans. Vincens brushed of the rumor as absurd, the Headmistress surely wouldn't be so insane to include one of the dishes in many monster's menus (including his) into the school.

He was brought out of his reverie when his brother suddenly sat down next to him. He raised a questioning eyebrow at Alyx, but upon seeing he was ignoring him, Vince looked away. It always irked him just how much Alyx looked like his mother. He also envied how much Alyx got to spend time with his mother while he was pushed away and into his father's strict lessons.

As he looked back up to see the Headmistress herself arriving, she let out the shrill shriek he dreaded most. He winced at the shriek making it past the sound of his soothing music and quickly pressed pause. His eyes widened in disbelief at the confirmation of the rumors he thought were absolutely absurd... Humans?! He tried to suppress a growl of frustration and began blocking out the rest of her speech.

Vincens never really liked humans. They were too naive and ignorant. True, they did many magnificent things as well, but always alone. Never did they all come together as one. They were always too busy discriminating one another to actually pay attention to the fact that they are sharing this earth with others written about in mythology books. And for that he quietly resented them and planned to perhaps snag a meal or two off of them throughout the rest of this year.

His brother left him as quickly as he arrived once the speech was done. He didn't mind too much, and stood up slowly, watching his brother's figure disappear into the crowd. Vince mumbled a good luck under his breath as he stretched his limbs tiredly, resumed his music and headed towards his dorm.

Indeed, he was tired. He stayed up late at night, restless at the idea of another year of school. It has been harder and harder to suppress his nocturnal instincts these days. He had tried coffee, but that drink is simply atrocious to him. He sighed again upon reaching his room. He was hoping to be the first one there and go to sleep without having to introduce himself to his roommates.

He turned the knob and gently pushed the door open. He peeked in with his head first, hoping his roommate wouldn't be his brother or anyone from the year before. He let out a sigh of relief upon seeing two new faces, pushed the door open further, and finally stepped inside. He smiled slightly at his new roommates and muted his music.

It seemed they didn't notice him enter so he decided to clear his throat and speak, but as he did Damian, he vaguely remembered the name, spoke. "I've heard they've hired humans to teach as well as letting in human students. I wonder if they're as clueless as the human students. This is going to be memorable." He stopped and tilted his head, absorbing the new information greedily. "...Human teachers? This year sure will be an experience alright..." Vince mumbled the words to himself. Inside he was frowning deeply. A human will be bound to get hurt. Nevertheless, on the outside, he was looking around his room and smiling. "Um, hello. I'm Vincens, your guys' roommate. He recognized Damian, but not so much Zane, as he furrowed his brows trying to remember him. Hopefully he could get the introductions with his new roommates done and just go to sleep.

Alyx Giovanni~

He continued to laugh as he couldn't help but watch the female struggle with his bags. His eyes narrowed towards a male that was approaching him as he heard the word that he had called him. When the male was finish talking, he smiled towards him then extended his hand. "Hi, I'm Alyx. Not no klootzak or whatever you just said." A small smirk started to dance across his lips. "In America, we do things a little different. You see someone weak and vulnerable, you do the best you can to take them out." He lied. It was the most vampiric thing he could say at that moment and time. "But hey, you words were very touching..." He sniffed the air and smelled that he was indeed human. 'Filthy.' He thought to himself.

"You know, I am extremely sorry and will get my own bags." Alyx said while circling slowly around the male, stroking his chin with interest. "Say, how would you like to be the best of friends?" Another smirk came across his face as his eyes narrowed towards his brother, who was going upstairs and probably towards his room. "Maybe we can chat some other time." Without the male being able to respond, Alyx walked off and caught the female at the stairs. "Give me my bags, filthy vermin." He snatched his bags away from her and carried them to his room, throwing them in then leaving as he followed his brother's scent.

Alyx went towards his brother's room and didn't bother knocking before entering. "Hello brother..." He glared at his roommates with disgust. "Others." His concentration then went towards his brother as he sighed. "Can you believe one of the human guys talked to me? Ew. I feel like going to a Sauna and just staying in there for days." He joked while walking all the way in the room, jumping on his brother's bed while smiling. "So, what you guys talking about?" A look of interest was placed upon his face as he glanced his bright blue eyes at everyone.

"Um, hello. I'm Vincens, your guys' roommate."
Damian turned his head to see another tall, blond young man entering the room. This school certainly had no shortage of good looking, tall, blond young men. He was pretty sure that he was Alyx's twin, but he hadn't see the two of them together very often, so he wasn't sure. He seemed a lot less forward than Alyx. Before he could ask whether or not they were related, Alyx had appeared in the doorway and invited himself into the room.
"Hello brother..." Well that answered his question, "Others."
The rest of Alyx's speech rather annoyed Damian; he didn't like the way he looked down on him and Zane nor the intense disgust he held for humans.
"We'd only really got to introductions." Damian answered, "Nothing special." Damian stood up from his bed and began moving towards the door, "It's pretty stuffy in here, so I'm going outside for a bit for some fresh air. See you all in a bit."

Damian closed the door firmly behind him and let out a deep breath. It was obvious that something awkward was going to happen in there, and he had no intention of being a part of it. He returned to his usual, slightly slouched posture and returned his hands to his pockets. As he set off down the hallway he caught sight of a rather angry human who seemed to be in the right place for Alyx to have just talked to him.
"Hey!" Damian greeted him as he walked over, "You don't happen to be the guy Alyx just talked to, do you? Tall guy with blond hair and blue eyes, not the friendliest of people, was probably following some hum-" Damian coughed slightly in a poor attempt to hide his slip of the tongue, "Girl with a couple of blue bags. Anyway, I'm Damian, nice to meet you."

Zane

Zane glanced around at the two new comers as the few people gathered traded introductions Zane then and sniffed the air taking in the fresh scents. "Ah... Vampire's... Nice to meet you Vincen..." He spun on his heels to face Vincen and Alyx as he had a smirk spread across his face. "My name's Zane... It's a pleasure too meet you Vincen." He glanced over at Alyx and scowled, he already did like Vincen's brother. "A human teacher? Really? Well guess the Head Mistress is serious about this whole human and monster bonding." The demon began laughing and then smirked as he rubbed the bridge of his nose.

"Well I think I'm going for a walk aswell. I mean I think we can drop our Glamours at 5:00 right? I want the night..." He smiled as he went through his trunk and pulled out a jacket and tossed it over his shoulder as he walked towards the door. "Also Vincen nice to meet you, hope we'll get along swimmingly, your brother. Show some respect least I tear your organs from your body and feed it to my hellhounds." Every word aimed at Alyx seemed to drip with venom as he dropped his glamour for a moment revealing the demon beneath as Zane opened the door and stared at Alyx before slamming the door and then his hair turned blonde, his horns receded and his eye's turned light blue as he started walking down the hallway as he headed in the direction Damien went.

From the moment Bram had stopped him, the other boy had been a whirlwind of words and motion, turning to him with a smile plastered on his face, hand held out in an abrupt gesture. Bram stared at the outstretched hand blankly, eying it like one might a trap so obvious that it's embarrassing to look at. Whatever he'd been expecting from the other boy, this Alyx, this certainly hadn't been it. If anything, that little introduction seemed to hint at the fact that he was more of an asshole than Bram had first surmised.

"In America, we do things a little different. You see someone weak and vulnerable, you do the best you can to take them out." Alright, so, yes, Bram had been completely right; he was something of an ass. Even if the lie about Americans hadn't been so blatantly and painfully obvious- he was Dutch, not stupid, thanks very much- the little phrase revealed more of the other boy's mentality than anything up to that moment. Bram had to repress a snort of disgust; this was boarding school, not the battlefield. What was all of this nonsense about taking people out?

However, before he could even reply, the blonde was bouncing off to a new topic just as quickly, circling Bram like he was prey, not a fellow student at Warren High. His apology was just as disingenuous as before, a fact so blatantly obvious that not even the slight language barrier could mask it. The offer of friendship seemed just as fake as Alyx gazed at him like he was a particularly interesting specimen, ripe for study. Then, without much else besides a quick goodbye, the other boy was off, traipsing up the stairs as if nothing had ever happened leaving a very confused Bram behind. What had just happened…? He wasn't quite sure, running the brief but perplexing encounter through his mind, searching for any real meaning behind it, and deciding that it wasn't worth the bother. After all, in such a large school what were the chances that he'd see the other boy again?

It was only when he'd finally given up understanding what had just happened, adjusting the suitcase in his grip, that he was approached by yet another quick talking student. This one was certainly… interesting to look at, if only for his hair, long and a color that Bram was quite certain came in a bottle rather than having any association with natural hair colors. Not that he minded, plenty of his friends back home had experimented with dye of unusual colors, it was just slightly out of place in his idea of an elite academy.

"You don't happen to be the guy Alyx just talked to, do you? Tall guy with blond hair and blue eyes, not the friendliest of people, was probably following some hum-Girl with a couple of blue bags. Anyway, I'm Damian, nice to meet you." It took Bram a moment to understand what he'd just said before he nodded. Well, at least this one- Damian, he mentally corrected- made sense. Or, well, at least he wasn't talking down to him.

"Unfortunately, I am. Bram Kappel. It's nice to meet you." He bobbed his head in a little nod before pausing. He wasn't quite sure why the other boy was here, pleasant or not, and asking him questions. Obviously he wasn't looking for the blonde, or else he wouldn't have known what had happened.

"Why do you ask? Can I help you with something?" Well, he could wonder about it all day or he could ask now and, given his general track record for bluntness, the second option was a no-brainer.
