Personality: Gentle, kind, and loving, Kat has always been the optimistic one. Helpful and playful at times, she can seem almost too gullible, but she isn't. Kat can be a bit hard-edged and serious especially when it comes to Lyra's safety. After have taking her in, she's always been a bit worried about her, but never showed her true feelings by simply smiling. She hates crying because she finds it a nuisance, so even when she is sad, she doesn't show it.
Bio: Katerina is the middle child of three, having an older sister and younger brother. She was married, but her husband, Charlie had died soon after her sister Alice had died. Leaving her to care for her little niece, Lyra, because her father, James didn't have the time to. Life was tough, because despite her attempts at comforting Lyra, she found it that her niece seemed a bit distant. Maybe it was because her father was barely ever present in her life, much to Katerina's displeasure, whenever Lyra left to school, she'd pick up the phone and ring James, arguing with him that he must be more active in Lyra's life if he wishes to keep his daughter close. Things didn't really change from that point on, so one day, to surprise Lyra, Katerina left the house and drove out into the street, searching for the best dress she could find to give to Lyra as a gift. She dearly loved the girl so much and only wished for her to smile like she used to, before Alice had died. On her way from the store, she had been driving carefully but a car ran a red light and struck her head on. She had died instantly.

Yet, even in death, her love for Lyra went on, and she didn't want to leave to the other side, she wasn't ready. Her only wish is that her niece find happiness, and until she sees that, she will never leave Lyra's side...

Lyra had sat stiffly when Isabella had gotten up soon after going to find Dean. What felt like an eternity but was only ten minutes, she collected her things and Isabella's forgotten bag and books before standing and heading toward the direction she saw her best friend go. She paused when she reached the turning to enter the student parking lot, what she saw almost made her drop everything in her arms --Isabella was abducted by a...vampire?

"He doesn't seem to want to hurt her, if he did, he would have done so already..." Commented Katerina, she floated near her niece, also watching the scene.

"But...He's saying he's going to wipe out her memories...Do you think she saw something she wasn't meant to see?" Even Lyra wondered what it was that she "saw" and she worried even more for her.

Feeling another malignant aura caused the girl to look sky-ward to spot another figure, this one a female, watching them below and she couldn't help but shiver at the weird icy-ness tingling down her spine.

"Those two... aren't human...." Katerina informed her, the spirit's eyes narrowed as she stared hard at the new comer. She didn't like her presence either and was sure to stay on high alert if that lady were to encounter her niece.

Lyra whispered, her eyes still on the lady as she caressed a gun in her hands, staring at Dean she could only imagine. "Is she and Dean vampires too?"

Katerina shook her head, "I wouldn't call them that... but their auras are very similar. Be very wary of them both, especially Dean. Something about him isn't right, his aura-"

"I know his is darker than black, but he doesn't seem to want to hurt anyone..." Lyra's expression was sad and hurt, how could her aunt be so judgmental? Did she not see the guy try to save Isabella?

Then the woman turned and was gone.

At that, Lyra exhaled relieved, she thought for a split second that the lady was going to shoot somebody.

Tearing her gave to the parking lot she saw Dean walking out and he was telling Selene to follow him.

She was about to turn when she felt his eyes on her and she just stood there. "Um...Dean where's Isabella? She went after you a moment ago and never came back... She forgot her stuff..."

"Wh-what the heck is this?"

Lyra was already at the school grounds, Katherine had crashed into her pleasant dreams of mother and father and old memories of being back home in London, and rushed her to pull on something and leave the house quick. Trouble loomed and it was so urgent she couldn't even brush her hair or her teeth, if her exorsisms couldn't destroy the bad ghosts than morning breath would do the trick. Or not. What she not only saw but felt before her in the once semi-peaceful school was a giant building of so much freaky, goose-bumps induced, dark energies, it would put the devil to shame. She was so terrified of the bad mojo emenating from the school that she couldn't move from the spot, her heart hammering in her small chest, sweat run cold on her skin and pink and white dress that she wasn't sure if this was a nightmare or reality.

"Lyra!" Katherine yelled, urging her to move, already the screams of early bird people echoed in the air as the demons and other evils swarmed out of the school, shooitng into the morning sky like bullets ofblack and grey. What did she walk into now?

((no time to continue, bare with me!!!!))

[Happy New Year everyone! @St. Valentine I read your rendition of the role-play, I loved how you depicted Lyra, right on the nail! Are you writing anymore? I would like to know how Isabella suddenly awakens like that, it was like watching a television show so exciting.]

Michael rushed through the forest, through the awakening town and directly toward the school. Isabella was with Aleksei and another vampire, Michael wondered if he had ever felt this man's aura, it felt almost familiar, perhaps in one of the many council meetings before. Reaching the school property he saw Lyra, she was standing her guard, her hands held up before her, a white barrier protected the school its light faint and pulsing. It kept the evil things within from coming out, but he wondered if he could step through it without getting harmed, so he paused close to the girl.

"Selene is inside Michael, where have you been? There's a giant source of evil auras coming from in there, please help them, I don't know how long I can support the barrier!" She glanced back momentarily to see him, "I'll leave an opening for you, be quick!"

Michael nodded confirming, he gently patted the girl atop her head, smiling rather brightly, "Good job Lyra, keep it strong there, this will be over soon." Then he slipped away like a breeze, his hands ready with water and ice enveloping them as he burst through the doors. He saw the other night class students wrestling with a few stray demons and he helped getting rid of them.

"The culprit is at the gym, but the hunters are taking care of it," Amy, a vampire informed the pureblood when he asked for a report, smiling at her, thanking her for the imput he continued on to the gym, catching Veratos as she finished off her own demons before leaving a wreck behind her. When the smoke cleared he ran to the doors and slammed them open in time to see the hunter slice at the monstrous hell beast.

"Go after her, help her out, remember where you stand..." Aleksei's voice echoed in his mind as he though back at the fight they had before, he wasn't certain what the pureblood was planning out now, but he knew for sure that his Selene was now more involved in it than ever before. He shook his head slightly as he walked passed the ashes left behind by the huntress. He saw Selene in action, sending arrows dipped in a blue powdery substance at the giant thing. He looked up to her, "Mind if I join in?"

Outside Lyra closed her eyes, her cheeks rosy, wow, a handsome man had cheered her on to keep going, stay strong, it was enough to boost her confidence. Wait until Isabella found out about this! Speaking of, she could faintly "feel" her, she was a bit away from the school, along with her were two others that had much stronger, darker auras about them and it made her a little scared.

"It's alright Lyra, Isabella is with Aleksei, he only wants to protect her. Keep your focus dear." Katerina whispered, pulling the girl back to her task.

"Who's Aleksei?" Lyra questioned her, returning her focus on holding the barrier up, she was having some difficulty in it, takes a lot of mojo to cover up an entire school, also while keeping her mind clear for it all to work.

"A vampire, apparently he's been behind Isabella her entire life, however with this new fellow, he doesn't bode well in the mix, what he brings with him and takes away it's all so sad." Katerina expressed, she had remained long enough to know what was going on, having disappeared soon after Aleksei had explained what he could to Isabella. She'd returned to her niece to help her, and also, let her know what was going on.

Lyra frowned, "Oh so she has a guardian who's always been there for her sooo romantic -wait- did you say he was a vampire? That's unbelievable, but then again, I'm holding up a huge cage to keep the demons inside so I guess... I still can't believe it."

"Lyra focus!" Katerine urged her.

(Happy New Year my loves! I'm so happy to have met you both, and that we have all stuck together through what has it been? Two, three years now? Very safe and cheerful celebrations to you and your families! Also, thank you Angel, I tried my best to capture their unique personalities. I am writing more, and will send you both the newest edition soon. Thank you again guys! Love y'all! n_n)

Isabella wrapped her arms around Aleksei's neck as he carried her, the tears still falling, her despair ever present; yet, like all the other tender moments she had just shared with Aleksei, this particular gesture, as he held her close to his heart, again she could almost remember the same occurrence as a child. She breathed in his scent, the smell of earth on his hair and cold skin, and nuzzled her skull into the crook of his neck. Everything she had ever known was suddenly crashing down all around her, leaving nothing but chaos and confusion in its wake. Nevertheless, she knew there was no longer anywhere she could run, except directly to the source itself. A sigh escaped her lips.

As he placed her on a bed, in a room blossoming with dozens of fresh, beautiful flowers that resembled a Wonderland like garden, she watched him sadly. She could see the sorrow in his demeanor, and feel the shame emanating from his strong form. She reached out to place a hand on his, trying to reassure him that everything was going to be alright, though she was not sure of this herself. She graciously took the water, thanked him and sipped, though still observed him and felt he needed it more than she did.

"You don't have to protect me anymore, Aleksei," Isabella started softly, her small fingers wrapping around his hand. "At this moment in time, I need a comrade... Someone to help me fight whatever future is trying to force itself on me."

She sighed, looking away for a few moments and sniffing pitifully. A single tear streaked her cheek, but she didn't wipe it away; instead, she let it fall and dapple the floral quilt. When she returned her gaze to Aleksei, her smile was still there, unwavering in its efforts to provide him with some kind of comfort. Her free hand moved a few stray strands of his platinum hair from his carnelian eyes, a loving gesture she never thought she would do. That's when she remembered Dean, and how he had tried to make her promise to stay with Billie. She wondered where he had gone off to, and where Selene and her other friends were, and what their thoughts might be on all this madness.

"I... I want to go to Italy," she continued, mindful of Aleksei's sensitivity of the subject. "But I don't want to marry Lorenzo or be royalty or whatever it is he was hinting at. I just want to meet my mother, and find out why this is happening to me... And finish high school..."

Another tear streaked her cheek as she realized that, however futile that ambition probably seemed now, it was an important milestone in every teenager's life. She was determined that, regardless of this calamity, she would live out each of her desires despite the responsibility that would soon befall her. All she wanted was to keep her friends safe, allow them as normal a life as they could possibly have, and move on with her own.

"But I want you to go with me. You seem to be a very dear friend of my family's, and if I am to meet my mother, I would like to have you at my side, in case she isn't as forgiving with me..."

Selene was being overwhelmed by the spawning demons that were continuously reproducing from the monster's wounds. At the moment, they were climbing all over her, and her arrows were quickly becoming scattered. They started to rake their nails along her flesh in an attempt to tear her apart, which only angered the newborn vampire; at the same moment, an explosion resounded near her, and then a shower of Holy water rained down on all of them, destroying the demons and consequently wounding Selene as well. She hissed with the pain, but it subsided quickly, and when she recovered she glanced over at Vera to offer her an acknowledging and thankful nod.

She caught a familiar musky scent, and when she turned she noticed Michael standing beside her. With a smirk, she shook her head and began to recollect all her arrows.

"By all means, take your time," she joked, as she positioned the arrow along the bowstring and aimed for the creature, studded with her seemingly futile weapons. "It's nice of you to finally join us."

She couldn't smell Isabella in the air anymore, which meant she had been taken, and it was anyone's guess that her captor was Aleksei. At least, at this point in time, that's what she hoped for. The demons in the schoolhouse were gradually depleting in number, but the hell guardian was only maimed, or so it seemed. Hunting evil spirits and bogeymen was not something Selene listed on her resume, nor a skill she had in her repertoire. This was something different entirely, and she knew that if she was going to face future adversaries of the same nature, she would have to invest in proper weapons.

"When is this damned thing going to die?!"

[Well I thank you St. Valentine for sticking around with us, love you too! I'm on the edge of my seat waiting for more. I hope you had a super new years with your family and that you're safe. ❤ Hime, I think we've already done that lol.]

Michael was just about to start freezing the sucker's remaining leg, encase him in ice so that it wouldn't be able to move, allowing Dean the leverage needed to attack without getting injured, but the boy was quicker and had went after the freak of nature right when he was gonna shoot. So much happened after that, it almost looked like Dean had won at the end, when the smog of released demonic energies erupted from the defeated foe, and the hell gate closed finally he smiled, shielding his nose and mouth with a hand so as not to inhale the crap, he too stiffened at smelling blood, it was of a peculiar scent.

The air cleared a little, and he glanced at Veratos as she screamed out the other's name, then went after him. He was struck by the monster, it had happened at the very moment Dean had sliced him in two, ending its existence. A deadly opening for both. When the young lady called out to them both for assistance, he exchanged worried glances with Selene, then sprinted toward the two. Crouching down on one knee, he inspected the damage. Salvatore's face was already pale as his own, which wasn't a surprise since the boy had been at it for a couple of hours with the hell beast.

Then the pureblood remembered something, that demon had called the hunter a non-human, though offended by it, Dean had demonstrated spectacular strengths no mere mortal could perform. Michael wondered in fact, had there been truth in that? He divided his gaze from the suffering boy who hadn't yet passed out, to his companion who expressed genuine agony. Placing a hand on Veratos, he nodded his head, motioning her to step back as he took her place. Gripping Dean's shoulder, he looked the boy in the eye, his other hand seized the end of the claw, his expression inscrutable as he said in a rather distant tone, "Let go Salvatore."

Lyra saw the light fading from the school, felt the bad vibes disappear and she was left thoroughly exhausted as she collapsed onto the ground. The barrier she'd held up snapped as she'd stopped holding it up. Taking deep breaths she sat there, trying to recollect her bearings, glancing up with much difficulty at the still building she knew the enemy must have been taken out. She had felt a heavy vibration just before the miasma had dissipated, was it the hunter?

"The school is safe now darling, your job here is over." Katerina observed, watching her niece as she caught her breath and attempted at standing.
"But, what about the others, they're still in there, do you think they're okay?" Lyra asked more concerned for them than for herself. She wiped a sheen of sweat from her forehead with the back of her forearm and she exhaled a long breath, she didn't think she could have supported that barrier any longer had the battle lasted several more minutes. "I...I don't think I can ever do that again." She said wryly, crossing her arms around her frame, her shoulders fell, she felt chilly and simultaneously hot.

Katerina stared at the school, she sensed trouble from within, but instead of voicing her knowledge she smiled down at her precious niece and reassured her that the group inside were fine. Most likely recovering as she was now. "Come now Lyra. let's return home, your guardians will be awakening soon and-"

Lyra shot her aunt a cross stare, "DON'T LIE AUNT KATERINA! They never cared about me, that woman Miss Vandalia doesn't even look at me! And her husband is always working, I never see him! How can you say they worry for me when they don't even know I exist?! Even their daughter Serenity doesn't even know my name..." she lowered her voice as she ended the sentence, her throat ached badly. Tears burst from her eyes and she couldn't help but cry, feeling hopelessly lost. Ever since her aunt died and she'd been sent to the next of kin being distant, make that very remote, her father's sister who never even showed any interest for the girl still when her parents had been alive. She would have rather lived alone to be honest, it almost felt that way.

Katerina frowned at her niece's melancholy, the girl always displayed such an easy going countenance, she'd never mentioned having been bothered by her current living conditions with the Vandalias and now that the girl broke down like this, she knew she had to do something, anything to fix this. It was her fault Lyra was stuck in this rut, had she not passed away the girl would have still been living in London with her and they would have had been happily together. Impulsivity shocked through her and she reached down to touch her niece's head, only to have her hand flow right through the girl's head of light auburn curls. At realizing her inability to comfort her, touch her, feel her warmth, Katherine's expression tightened with a mixture of intense pain and anguish. "I'm sorry Lyra, forgive me."

"It's okay. I'm fine." Lyra said tightly, strained, which meant she was lying through her teeth as she tried to stand, then her vision got foggy.
"Lyra don't move-"
"I need to find Isabella, she's gone-" Lyra could hear herself say breathe/lessly as she wobbled to her feet, and then the world turned to black.
"Oh Lyra, no..." Katerina could do nothing, as the child fell to the pavement, she extended her arms trying to reach for her falling body, her ghostly apparition held no mercy and even in this instance never materialized, remaining unsubstantial. Lyra crumpled to the ground, her eyes closed.

Katherine watched her little niece dozing off in bed, God knew the kid was helpless. She wouldn't even defend herself against something that obviously belonged to her. Well, that would change. When Katherine had disappeared, she'd been roaming about the graveyards, it was there that a certain spirit addressed her, taught her things. Thing that she would now put to good use.

"I will get that dress back, no matter what." Katherine stated more to herself than Lyra. Then she vanished in a wisp of grey smoke and reappeared in the girl's bathroom of a structure where the beastly girl known as Serenity was enjoying a party. Currently the human was inside, reappling too much make up on her small, round face. What a nuissance. Standing right behind her, Katherine focused, little by little her translucent image materialized until she looked like a normal woman. It must be the dress giving her that strength to drive forward.

The glass in front of the girl misted completely and words were forming, to her horror as she read it, the girl saw: Ruin the dress, I ruin you.

"L-lyra you-" Serenity said getting angry, she wiped at the glass with the palm of her hand, looking into the mirror, she gasped at seeing Katherine. Turning around the ghost disappeared. Serenity leaned back against the sink, trying to calm her racing heart. Her efforts were futile, Katherine was back again, this time closer than the girl would like.

"Take off the dress." Was all she had to say and the girl obeyed.

A few friends walked in soon after, caught in the bubble of teenage glee, giggling over an Instagram pic in their mobile phones, what it was about wasn't important, when they found Serenity huddled in the corner of the rest room pale as death and shivering in her white bra and panties, they knew to stop laughing.

"I-I sss-saw her...." Serenity whispered in tears as the girls rushed to assist her back to her feet.

"Who did you see? What happened to your dress?" Another girl asked, rubbing Serenity's shoulders that were risen with goose bumps.

"Lyra, I've retrieved your dress and your money, I knew the Vandalia's wouldn't give it to you, so I took the liberty of making her."

By now the medium was up and packing her stuff into a suitcase. When she heard her aunt say this she straightened, glanced at her and froze. "You did what?"

Katherine was there, the dress delicately draped over her arm, and the envelope that contained Lyra's college money inside. They all belonged to her anyways.

"Why-how did you do this?" Lyra was saying as she reached for the dress, felt its silk and believed, yes it was the very gown, and no it wasn't damaged at all. She was relieved for the most part, but having her aunt force herself upon people wasn't the kind of behavior she'd accept. Little did she know that there was so much more trouble and pain to come.

Soon, Lyra was outside, lugging her suitcase and white box in either hand, the mansion and its memories long behind her. She would forget it all, forget Serenity and her cruelty, forget the ever careless Vandalia's, perhaps some day, they would look up from whatever they were doing and notice. Isn't something missing? Isn't someone missing?

Or maybe not.

"Where are you going now?" Katherine was asking as she strolled beside her as normal as she could make it when she had been alive, the perception of it all being ultimately ridiculous a little bug skittering at the edge of her consciousness, she smiled kindly at her niece.

"I was thinking of camping out in the woods, but I would have to purchase camping stuff, and all I have are Euros, do you think they would accept it?" Lyra asked, looking up at the pretty Katherine, ignoring the little bad vibes she was picking up from the apparition. Not at all wanting to accept that as the days passed by, the longer her aunt's spirit lingered on Earth, in the physical realm, the more twisted and clouded the spirit's judgment would fill inevitably with dark intentions, vengeance namely. She would soon be the very thing Lyra would have to exorcise herself. But for the meantime she would take these moments she had left with her aunt, run this as long as she could take.

When that day came, she didn't know if she would be able to go there. This was her aunt here, not some benevolent ghost that was just a stranger.

"Well you could exchange that money for US dollars over there, see?" Katherine pointed to an establishment that did just that. The two headed there.

"Are you sure this is going to be your new home? It's not really suitable a place to live very long sweety..." Katherine said looking rightfully concerned at her niece as she bumbled around gleefully building a fire and making a snack called "smores". The Brit had already taken several minutes to put up the tent and settled down for the rest of the day. The ghost couldn't tell if she was more concerned for the girl's safety, or her sanity.

"Relax aunty Kat, this is just something I've always wanted to do, the American's call it camping," Lyra camly explained, trying to contain her inner excitement. She had wasted a lot of her money on purchasing camping gear so that she could experience the full on camping life -for a short couple of days until she would then decide to find a new place to actually call "home".

"Becareful darling, I sense this place isn't exactly just a forest, there are other entities among us, and they're vibes aren't so comforting in the least." Kat warned the girl.

"I know that, why do you think I camped out here far from the road and stuff, no one will find me. Not that anyone will even be searching for me anyways..." She turned from her aunt's ghost and continued making smores alone. Meanwhile she wondered how her best friend was doing, Isabella was probably with Aleksei living it large in a mansion somewhere. Lucky. Some people had luck while others didn't, like she for instance. No luck what so ever, but she couldn't complain, it could have been so much more worse. When the girl finished making smores, she went back into her little yellow tent and picked up her photograph that held her mother's image -it being all she had left of her memory. As she muched on smores, she spoke to her mother in a low whisper, almost holding a conversation with her, however one-sided it may be. At least she could pretend someone was listening to her, besides her dead aunt's spirit.

A crack of a breaking branch suddenly filled the silent air, making the british girl jump. Placing the photograph back in its shelf being the top of a shoe box, Lyra crawled out of the tent to take a peek outside. So far, she couldn't see anyone there. Her eyes flickered to her aunt's spiritual form, she stood there still as a stone statue, staring ahead, as though she could perceive what Lyra could not.

"Lyra, you must not move or make a sound, the creatures out here are highly dangerous and malignant. Far worse than-"

Katherine tore her gaze from the flitting shadows weaving in and out of view, to stare at her beloved niece who had once again disobeyed her and was up on her feet, standing tall and steady. The look on her face was sure and not a hint of fear in her eyes, what a strong medium she turned out to become.

"They aren't normal spiritual manifestations Lyra, they are more lethal and unrestrained, they can and will kill you. Or possess you again, please go back inside-"

"No. I-I won't run-not anymore!" Lyra shouted, the ground beneath her feet rumbled as the collected group of demons sensed her, and drew closer and closer, a giant cloud that swallowed her up.

Lyra closed her eyes and made a little prayer, then a voice came to her, a whisper to answer her prayer.

Looking up, her eyes flaring a bright light, she screamed, "Yes, please help me."

A bright light filled the skies, and when the girl lowered her gaze to the ring of demons trying to grab at her form, she spoke, "Priinceps gloriosissime cælestis militiæ, sancte Michaël Archangele, defende nos in prælio et colluctatione, quæ nobis adversus principes et potestates, adversus mundi rectores tenebrarum harum, contra spiritualia nequitiæ, in cælestibusus. Veni in auxilium hominum, quos Deus creavit inexterminabiles, et ad imaginem similitudinis suæ fecit, et a tyrannide diaboli emit pretio magno," she paused to take a breath and finally yeld, "exorcizamus te, omnis immundus spiritus!"

A whiplash of white energy burst from Lyra's small frame, tearing apart the spiritual particles that were the demons, they were gone within seconds, leaving the girl alone with her aunt soon appearing after. She stared at her niece, who looked awfully shocked as she fell to her knees.

"Kat, I heard her..." Lyra said, shivering as if she had just walked into the frozen section of a supermarket, she crossed her arms over her chest trembling, "I... I... heard her voice...."

"Who did you hear?" Katherine asked, her eyes wide, looking down at her niece.

"Assasiel...An Angel," Lyra whispered, trying so hard not to loose it. Maybe she was going bonkers? At least the demons were gone though, that was a good thing, right?

((Well I surely had fun in this, I'd say this could be the longest running role play I've been in since ever. I'm proud to say it. I hope we can all stick together for more RP's to come. )) ,

Lyra took a few deep breaths, having already come to the conclusion that she was no longer in any immediate threats by the demons, she was only beginning to pull herself together when she sensed a pressure much stronger and yet strangely familiar approach her vicinity.

"Oh look, it's wolf, so much for no one able to find you here Lyra. You know what that means right?" Katherine said drily, noticing the animal as it came to a slow pace. It's lustrous eyes on her niece, she would do anything to protect her niece, and she was there, her ghostly figure standing in between the wolf and her precious love.

"W-wolf...? Crikey Moses... I've never..." Lyra's words mixed and jumbled in her rushed way, she shrank back, edging toward the tent like it was a safe haven, like the giant dog wouldn't be able to rip through it and tear her to pieces. She stared at it, and for some reason, she didn't know what it was, but, she didn't feel so terrified. Her gaze engulfed the beautiful creature, so majestic and fierce, and his aura -how could she mistaken it? The "pull" she felt, his presence tugged through her, reaching her soul.

But how could that be? Well, who else could she name have the same spiritual pressure as he? No one for that matter, so it wasn't possible that the wolf before her was also the young man she had met earlier? Was this what his old codger was going on about, him becoming an "alpha" for... a pack of wolves? They were werewolves? She felt her skin crawling with absolute fear, she has had her reads on their kind and knew too well on what happens when they shift -they're more animalistic, running on primal instincts and dropping their humanistic morals as they do when they shed their clothes. This was not going to end well and running would only worsen things, she was now his human death wish. Perfect.

I never thought of myself dying at the jowls of a wolf, really...this is just....this is just... Maddening!

It was a wonder how she could even think clearly when her body was literally trembling with horror. She was gonna die, that was definite, and there was nothing she could do about it. Sure she could wipe out a class room of demons in a snap, but that was because they were in their spiritual state, there was a chant for that -however that wasn't the case for physical, wild were wolves, it was much different, there was no chant for this, not that she was aware of anyways. Basically, she was screwed.

"Lyra, stand up, move very slowly and climb up that tree, try to get to the highest branch and stay up there," Katherine instructed in a hiss, her gaze never drifted from the wolf who's attention remained on Lyra, like a hawk capturing its prey with its eyes alone. Frightening.

"What are you gonna do?" Lyra whispered back, snapping to action, she reached for a stone the size of her clenched fist, so that she could throw it and maybe even distract the wolf with it while she made an escape for it. Slowly, but deliberately, she shifted herself on the ground, mindful of her surroundings, being sure not to get too close to the fire, maneuvering in a half-circle around the tent, giving up on her idea of hiding in it.

"Don't worry about me, I'm already dead, it can't kill me twice, go!"
"I am, be careful."

Katherine frowned a little, "I should be saying that to you sweet heart."

Lyra was half way there, moving at a snail's pace, that felt excruciatingly long to her heightened nerves, she kept glancing from her aunt to the wolf and back, then deciding she could just run to her tree she rose her rock hand, and chucked it, aiming for a spot behind the wolf. The stone made a good amount of wanted noise, rustling a bush. She was thinking it would glance back to inspect for any intruder while she shot to her feet and ran the rest of the way to her tree. that she did, only to encounter a newer, more dreadful problem.

"What's taking you?" Katherine snapped, moving herself to block the animal from reaching Lyra, if it had reacted to the distration or not wasn't the real concern here.

Lyra hopped a bunch of times, but the lowest branch was just out of her reach. "I can't climb trees Kat!"

"Then get to another, quick!"

The medium ran to another tree, but the same problem laughed down at her, these trees weren't like the ones back home, they were immensely tall and she was ridiculously short. What was she going to do, run screaming through the woods and attract more hungry wolves to feat on her? Fat chance. She had to try and survive, so focusing on that while keeping a tight hold on herself so that she wouldn't fall into hysteric fits and really lose it, she slowly made her way to the fire she had going on, reached down to pick up a thick piece of branch and with its burning tip she held it out before her, swinging it out horizontally like a sword. Not wildly, rather in a threatening gesture, "I know this isn't silver, but fire does burn, so… So stay away from me!"

(LOL Angel I love how you called JULIAN Justin!)

Julian's twin audits twitched at the sound of the rock crashing against the brush, but he didn't move. His silver eyes remained on Lyra's scrambling form, watching her without moving, still almost as a statue. He could see the translucent form of her protective aunt, a brave little specter before the mouth of the beast, knowing full well she couldn't do anything if he wished to attack the girl. He approached her, his head lowered and a growl still rolling from his throat, tail straight out behind him as she struggled to climb to safety into different trees.

Then she stopped and started to swing a flaming branch at him, nearly striking him in the nose and causing him to retreat. He snorted, clearly agitated now, then curled his lips back to reveal his shiny jowels. He took a tentative step backward, his gaze still unwavering until the sounds of a few more foreign snarls echoed through the trees. His ears perked and immediately he lifted his head toward the noise, coming from the woods around them. Soon, three sets of glowing yellow eyes matched the wicked growling, followed by the giant forms of ash-colored wolves.

Julian stiffened, bringing himself between the intruding animals and Lyra, his eyes following their moves as they approached the two. The lips of his maw curled further, fully revealing his massive canines as they began to drip with saliva. He lifted his head to the sky and howled, his call reverberating through the forest in hope that it would alert his packmates of his location. The three wolves closed in, their snarls becoming even more violent, preparing to attack. Julian stood his ground, his huge body blocking Lyra from the opposing side, as though in attempt to protect the small girl.

The largest one striked first. He dove toward Julian, snapping at his neck before the alpha pummeled him to the ground. He slammed his paws into the other's head, raking his talons over his eyes before clamping his jaws down on the thick flesh of his throat and tearing. The other two leapt onto the black alpha, and the four were sent tumbling into the woods. The ashen wolves ripped at Julian, who fought bravely against them, drawing blood from them all with the sheer brutality of his alpha instinct and force. As strong as he was, he couldn't possibly take all three of them on at once, even after severely maiming the first.

Blood, fur, dirt and twigs went flying as the quarrel commenced, Julian trying with all his might to lead them away from Lyra's campsite. When one of them broke away to try and get to the little medium, Julian was quick to tackle him to the ground, fiercely attacking him until it no longer tried to do so. One of the other wolves got a hold of his neck and another sank his teeth into his hind leg, bringing Julian to the floor. Even as they tried to strangle him to death, Julian fought them, his blood spilling over the earth and matting his fur.

Several more snarls could be heard, and just as Julian was beginning to lose consciousness, the five forms of his packmates dove over him, crashing into the already wounded opposing wolves, who immediately retreated. They bolted the opposite direction, and Julian's brothers followed suit, leaving him in the grass a few yards away from Lyra's campsite. He struggled to stand, and when he did, he wobbled weakly.

He limped through Lyra's camp, trying to get to the place where he had abandoned his clothes, knowing that if he lost consciousness he would shift again. He had suffered much damage, however, and before he could even get past the bonfire, he collapsed in a heap on the ground, panting heavily. A soft whine left his maw before he succumbed to unconsciousness and his massive physique began to shrivel; the ebony fur that once covered him began to fall off, and his bones shifted once again until he returned to his normal form, totally illuminated by the firelight. Julian was curled into the fetal position, naked and covered in mud and crimson, shivering and unresponsive aside from that.

((See, now you got me calling Julian Justin I'll fix that! lol))

Lyra was all too frightened to be of much use, rather than take the opportunity to flee as the wolves all collided into each other in such a fierce and brutal fight, forgetting her as it appeared, she remained at her stand, transfixed by the most incredible and unnatural scene playing out before her. It was like being at the set of a Twilight movie sequence with the wolves all tearing at each other as wild as it got, it was almost thrilling. Leaning back against the tree, the Brit sunk down into the earth, her breaths coming and going in tandem with the action, at first hollow and quick as the fight seemed to have reached its climax at the arrival of more wolves, then slower and deeper as the danger signals raging in her calmed. Or perhaps she was far too gone to feel anything else anymore. This was the ultimatum, no longer would she ever think those books she'd been reading were simple fairy tales. It was all real, too real.

The giant wolf of the darkest and beautiful night struggled in its passing, her eyes stuck on its large form as it moved slower and slower passed her tent, then she heard the creature's breaths give way to its weakness, its body trembling in the effort to keep going, but alas could not do so and in an instant had crashed into the ground much as she had. At first, she thought that was it, the poor thing was dead, only to feel her heart swell with something she couldn't identify. The animal changed, into a human being right there!

Striken with both dread and wonder mixing in her, the girl sat there, just breathing. She closed her eyes taking a grip on herself, in no bloody way was she going to fahking go bonkers, no way! That was not a were wolf, that figure lying on the ground marinated in his own blood and dirt was not, could not be Julian.

"Lyra we... We should really go now..." Came Katherine's voice, slicing through the girl's thoughts.

Lyra snapped her eyes opened and swallowed hard, her heart was pounding but she was slowly coming to grips with this ordeal. So Julian was a were wolf, and he had tried to protect her from the other wild dogs that would have had her for dinner had he not had shown up. No kidding!

She stood, and very cautiously started toward the collapsed young man, still the pounding in her chest made her think that he just might hear her heart beats, they felt so loud in her head. She ignored her aunt's plea to turn around and run away, but that was the problem now. If she ran she might end up bumping into the pack out there fighting it off, not something she wanted to encounter again. The danger was out there not here, so she had no choice.

"Stay away from him Lyra!" Katherine cried, reaching for her niece, grabbing her shoulder to keep her back.
"I can't leave him there like that Kat, I have to help him, after all, he had helped me when I was helpless back at the school..." she smiled at the memory, "I owe him one."

Katherine didn't like this one little bit, but the boy was unconscious and well, had protected her niece from the other wolves, she would have to comply for now and if anything happened she would deal with it -she was a powerful ghost now, she coud do so much damage.

Lyra reached the boy, knelt down beside him and gently patted his forehead, her smile blossoming sweetly, "It's alright, you're safe now."

Katherine slunk away into the shadows as she watched her niece manage to pull the boy away from the fire, into her tent to further assist him. She had really prepared for this hiking trip, having brought with her a first-aid kit, which she used up on the kid. She tried cleansing his wounds to the best of her abillity and covering the bite and scratch wounds. Soon enough she covered him in the sleeping bag, and accompanied him all through the night. When he were to awaken at last, Lyra would hand him a couple of giant Hershey bars and a bottle of SmartWater, to hyrdrate and proteinate -sort of.

{I'm so sorry, Angel! For some reason it didn't show me that you had posted, so I was here waiting for your response for like a week haha}

"Do not be wary of him, woman," came the soothing voice of a particular apparition, whom had suddenly appeared beside Katherine, still tarrying over her niece whom was nursing Julian back to health. "The boy is a kind soul."

His translucent form materialized against the accumulating mist as if the fog is what he was composed of. He had the youthful and handsome features of a man in his early twenties, though he was dressed as though he were living during the era of Queen Victoria's reign. He watched the young couple indifferently, then shifted his gaze to the woman, who emanated a slight jealous rage over the girl.

Julian rested soundlessly inside the tent, bundled up in Lyra's sleeping bag beside a bunch of chocolate and sugary water drinks. His lashes twitched and weakly he stirred, regaining consciousness gradually until his pupils finally were able to properly focus on his surroundings. His eyelids parted to reveal his silvery irises, which shifted around the little tent in slight confusion before falling upon Lyra. For a moment despite his agony and tired confusion, he watched her warmly, but then at realizing he was naked and inside her tent, his eyes widened and he jumped a little, though recoiled immediately.

"What...what's goin' on...?" he muttered, cradling his head, which had suffered a massive blow, and touching the bandages around his torn neck.

Welts and dark bruises began to form on his ribcage, which he was certain he had cracked a few, and then he opened the sleeping bag just enough to where he could see the deep bite marks on his calf. He winced in pain, falling back against the ground and groaning softly before he closed his eyes.

"Why did you bring me here?" he asked. "What did you see, Lyra?"

He avoided her light eyed gaze, unsure of how to explain what she had just witnessed, and also uncertain of how he felt about it. Here he was, naked inside her tent, bound up and bandaged crudely while his packmates were off killing some rogue wolves that had appeared out of nowhere. Were they the ones that his grandfather had mentioned before he passed? The ones that were responsible for claming numerous lives and leaving chaos and destruction in their wake, risking the exposure of his family in consequence to their recklessness?

The world was spinning crazily, too quickly for wounded Julian to comprehend. He was of no use in the state that he was in; he could hardly even stand. How was he going to explain this to little human Lyra, who probably viewed him as nothing more than a wild beastly monster now. What would she think of him, having seen the extent of the curse that plagued his family?

Lyra couldn't formulate the right words to say, if any at all. She was still trying to wrap her mind about this, about all of it. Sure she could accept the fact that vampires and ghosts were more real than fiction, but there were also were-wolves too? What the fahk? She remained still, hugging her knees to her chest as the boy that was once a furry, feral, and dangerous wolf, now a normal looking bloke, stirred and reacted at finding himself in her tent.

"You...You were hurt..." she managed to let out slowly, her eyes staring at him warily in case he suddenly changed into a giant dog again. At the other question, she felt a lump form in her throat, her eyes burning with unshed tears and fear tearing into her little chest, she looked away, toward the fire and tried to keep herself still. She was shivering, but it wasn't because she was cold. Being near him she felt warmth, almost like what Bella mch she could do ust have felt when she was around Jacob, the thought of which made her smile a tiny bit. Twilight, she wondered if that story was real.

Katherine watched the girl she sighed knowing there was nothing much she could do to change anything.

"How do you know he's harmless? How do you know he won't snap and eat Lyra?" she demanded at the spirit that had formed beside her now. She didn't glance at him, her sights were stuck on her niece like glue, her concern and fear too great for her to ever look away. What would happen if that bloody heathen were to try and attack her precious niece? She would be ruined that's what! She would forever haunt that boy until he was driven mad with guilt and repentance for his sins. One that even in death she would never forgive.

Lyra catches the glimpse of her aunt and of the other spiritual presense beside her, she remembered how terrible she had felt when she couldn't help her before. It reminded her of what Julian had done for her, his care and gentleness, his willingness to let her into his home despite her being a stranger, despite his old grandfather's disagreeing. She turned her attention to the boy that had some how slithered out of the sleeping bag, she sucked her teeth as she uncolied herself and crawled toward him.

"Hey," she whispered, surprised at how calm she sounded, she placed gentle hands on his shoulder and arm, trying to lead him back into the warmth and cover of the sleeping bag. "Stop moving or you'll open your wounds, you're not going to cause me more trouble by doing that are you? Listen to me bloak."

Lyra edged away from Julian as his conversations with his pack-mates took a much darker turn. They had managed to capture and keep alive one of the rogue wolves, and were going to resort to physical abusive tactics to get whatever they wanted out of him. A part of her felt sorrow for the poor dog, but in a sense she wanted justice to be served, if it hadn't been for Julian or his crew, that very captured wolf would have torn her to shreads along with the others that were now dead meat. She stared up at Julian right after he'd given the order which she was damned well sure the others were going to obey like the group of dog's body that they were (gofers). Couldn't he leave the captured enemy to be dealt with by the Bobbies? (Police Officials). She was shocked that he would be so cruel, such a git. It scared her even to think how he would punish her if ever she got on his aggro side. At his movements, she watched silently, looks like he was getting ready to go -probably to infilict the punition himself. Then he mentioned Salvatore and she immidiately thought of Dean. The last she'd seen of him, he was with Isabella, she hoped they were hunkey-dory.

Then Julian was staring at her.

"You're going to take this matter into your own hands? Isn't that illegal?" she whispered shakily, wanting nothing more than to be far away from this wolf boy, she then shrugged feeling rather hopeless, "Oh well, it's horses for courses I suppose..." tears stung at her eyes, she was more frightened than she could ever remember feeling, and she wished she were dreaming. Maybe she could wake up to a world were Julian was a normal chap and she a normal non-medium chapess. Maybe life would be far more simpler and less dangerous. Currently she was stuck with him, at first he seemed like a fit bloke, but now that she knew what he was, he might end up killing her for knowing his secret. Or that could be her brit wild side creeping in and jumping to conclusions. Perhaps he hasn't gone barmy as she thought, maybe this was how these yanks handled things here. It was best that she not say anything and get to the program. Though now that she thought of it, it was almost like he was more ashamed of her knowing what he was rather than brassed off with her. He never really met her eyes when he looked at her and he was far too weak to put up much of a fight. But she was also too afraid to try and make a run for it with his wolf mates out there tying up the beastly wolf they had seized.

Staring at his eyes she grit her teeth, he was serious about this it seemed, "You have a lotta bottle, I guess it comes with being the alpha of your pack right?" She didn't know what she was doing, but she figured that maybe in talking to him it could change his mind over possibly killing her. While she figured out a way to escape with her wits.

Katherine watched as the events unfolded before her, sure she was surprised that they all decided to turn him in to their leader rather than take him to the Bill (police) but since they were all not exactly human, and their captured prey was just like them, she came to the conclusion that they all had their own set rules to go by. She wondered how Lyra was handling this, knowing her, not well.

St. Valentine wrote:
"Aleksei?" Isabella called softly, searching for him when she turned to see if he was following. "Aleksei? Where are you?"

Her voice was so small and shaken it sounded akin to a child calling for its mother. Her eyes became glossy when she realized that he had long disappeared, watching as Dean returned without him and joined them as they made their way toward the forest where Isabella's house had once been. Selene nudged her forward, urging her not to waste time looking for the pureblood that had vanished for a good reason that he obviously did not wish for the Italian girl to know. She continued on reluctantly, looking over her shoulder in search of him repeatedly until they left the cemetery.

When they reached the forest, Isabella was horrified at the carnage strewn about the foliage. The earth had been torn apart in several places; some trees had been snapped in half, and there was blood and fur all over the place. They reached the tent, and she could see the familiar silhouette of Lyra's bouncy hair, as well as Julian resting beside her. Instinctively, she ran toward the campsite, barely able to contain herself.

"Lyra?!" she cried out, on the brink of hysteria. "Are you in there??"

She whipped open the tent to find Julian beneath the sleeping bag, naked and bruised, and Lyra with her arms curled around her knees next to him. Their source of energy and protein were chocolate bars and sugary energy drinks, marshmallows and graham crackers- Isabella's horror intensified. Immediately, she dove into the tent and embraced her friend, relieved beyond measure to find that the girl had not been harmed.

"Oh my god, Lyra, I thought you had been hurt or killed! What on earth are you doing in a tent?!"

Julian stirred beside them, trying his best to sit up on his elbows and acknowledge the Italian girl that had just knocked his bandaged and injured foot when she leapt into the little tent. His grey eyes watched the pair interact, though he was biting down on his lip to keep from howling with the pain that surged the span of his limb. At that same moment, Lukas appeared with a bundle of Julian's clothes, which he put on before he was helped to stand and exit the tent.

"The Salvatore boy has arrived," Lukas informed his alpha, who was struggling to stand upright as he shifted his weight onto a tree for support. "He wishes to speak with the rogue alone. We figure the hunter will do better to get some information out of him."

"Does he know?" Julian asked.

"Take me to him."

Bound at his post, Botolf slumped over, staring viciously at the ground with the one eye that hadn't been swollen shut. Blood oozed out of his wounds and dripped from his broken nose and busted lip. Sweat had slicked his skin and dirt was caked on it, turning gradually into mud, while his hair had been cut off and only a few patches had remained. He didn't look up when the hybrid hunter arrived, though a smirk did curl over his split lip, and a weak, pained laugh erupted from his throat as Dean cocked his weapon.

"Go ahead and shoot me, hybrid," Botolf spat. "I will take the secrets of my alpha to the grave, and you will only be making it easier."

His one good eye, the color of a ring of purified brass, feral and inhumane, lazily lingered up to meet Dean's furious gaze. The rogue's smirk widened, revealing several missing teeth, which the other wolves had crushed when trying to get him to talk. Bloody saliva dripped from the side of his mouth, adding to his barbaric visage, then he cackled wildly.

"You will never see them coming."

"Actually you'd be a waste of a perfectly good bullet," Dean retorted back even putting the pistol away for emphasis. Listening to the captured man talk he was coming to the conclusion that he was an insane catch and there was no real way to deal with him, unless he wanted to be dragged down to his level and beaten by his own craziness. He was not going there. Whoever sent him was no longer the concern here, rather whom he spoke of. The hunter was only aware of one group that surely wanted Isabella so far, the Italian vampires. Now if there were a whole other group of big bad that wanted her too, well, it would be wise to know at least who they were. Nothing else mattered, when they were coming didn't matter. He would be prepared for it.

"So we're getting a surprise visit from 'them' huh? Wow, I didn't even have to touch you to get that out. Progress." Dean noted aloud smiling back at the deranged fellow. Poor dude, it's like he had nothing better to do than prey on weak people, he couldn't blame being a wolf for that, his changing had nothing to do with his insanity. Shaking his head, the hunter leaned back on his heals, looking the other up and down, maybe all this was just an act, perhaps his mind running on half-charge since he thought he was a gonner. "Hey Botolf, tell me something, why are you in this? I mean, what's in it for you? Do you have any idea what you're dealing with here? Did some one in a dark cloak approach you and promise you power or something? Because I'm not gonna believe that coincidence crap that you just happened to trail all the way out of Carolina to a much smaller, less populated ol' Sable town for no reason than hiding out in the woods and preying on defenseless, innocent people, only to get caught by these guys," he hooked a thumb over his shoulder to the pack of wolves across from them. Staring into that sickeningly yellow eye, Dean drew toward him, closer, then reached out and touched his forehead, all traces of his severe beating on his face, and head shaving vanished, like a cool breeze, and that was it, he only healed Botolf's head and facial injuries, not him entirely, "Let's make a deal, you tell me what I want to know, I help you out, see, unlike some people, I don't harm humans, I protect them," he let his fingers trail down the fully healed man's face, to grip at his jaw, now he could glare into both Botolf's eyes without missing a beat, "you could be the most terrifyingly, ugliest, monster on the face of the earth, but that doesn't define you. It's what you do with what you've got that makes you who you are. And right now, you're just an animal, still hangin' on a thin thread between being human and being a beast."

Yup, the hunter believed in second chances, but only for those who deserved it. This man could be saved, maybe he was going on the convictions that being an animal was the only way to go. Maybe that's how his alpha ran things and since he had no one else to follow, went with it. If he had been human, he must have remembered what it was like to be one right? To have a life? Why was he even trying to save this guy? It was beyond the hunter, but that was just his ways, in a sense he could see himself in Botolf's eyes. See himself lost. See himself hiding behind the mask of the beast roiling inside, given up on everything and slowly loosing his humanity. Most were wolves even forget how to change back, or choose not to voluntarily, instead live the rest of their existence as the animal they've become. Either that would be this man's fate, or he would die here. But nothing was ever certain.

"Who's coming over? Give me a name, it's as simple as that, you're making this more difficult than it has to be," Dean said calmly, loosening his grip on the man's face to let him speak. "I really don't think you have any other options here, these guys aren't gonna stop pummeling you, and you're not going anywhere. You're all alone, your buddies, they're all dead. That includes your leader, you're no longer bound by his will don't you get it? You're fucking free, you do whatever the hell you want now. Do you really wish to keep that secret so bad? You're screwing yourself over if you'd rather accept a bullet than anything else. I just want to know who we're up against, that's all, I don't want to know about your alpha or the fun times you've had with him." His eyes stared unwavering at the man, almost seeming to glow a bright blue, his countenance a mixture of hope and integrity, "You're still human at the end of the day, and right now, a lonely one. Think about it."

Veratos watched the hunter not surprised as he conversed with the enemy, why was he trying to humanize the son of a bitch was something that made Dean totally weird -but it was that simple fact that would always draw her in. It was in his prerogative to try and "reach" to those he thought he could save or whatever. Except this dude, he was just a waste of their time. It was touching, the futile attempt Dean was making, but it would be a grave disappointment on his part if he walked away with nothing. Which would not change a damn thing, he just wasn't the type of guy to give up. Ever. She glanced back at Selene wondering if she was getting this, it was almost sad and it would be a fact of life Dean would have the most trouble swallowing: Not everyone could be saved.

Aleksei's wolf, lingered near the tent, seating itself on the earth, it's carnelian eyes watchful to its surroundings while his charge interrelated with the the other human girl inside. It's ears twitched at every slightest sound made by the others around him, and knowing they were created by the other humans he didn't need to look at them. He was however mindful of anything that would make a new sound, or try to pop out and attack them. A new fear though was beginning to grow within him, the Italian vampires were no longer their main threat, perhaps there were others out there that have found out about the Lombardi's secret, and would come to covet her. Was this the secret that the captured were wolf Botolf was concealing? Knowledge of more assaults after Isabella?

"I'm sure she will, keep up the work guys," Dean replied, saluting them as he then went off in pursuit of Lombardi, she seemed to like wondering off on her own as if her life weren't in danger. Just like him, acting like a carefree teenager, something that couldn't be helped. He wouldn't tell the girl how to live her life, he wasn't her father, but that didn't mean he would also stand by and watch her put herself in danger, she's already shown him what she was capable of. Twice and how she was rolling it, was not good looking. She needed to take extra precaution and that's where he came in.

As he neared the girl's the hunter could pick up on what Isabella was saying, she was trying to convince her pal to "join them" and stick together. What the hell was her problem? They didn't need the Brit, she would just be another life they had to worry about. She was not apart of their case, involving her would only put her in jeopardy, she'd be used against them, knowing these Italian vamps they wouldn't think twice about it. Isabella did not know a thing about 'knowing thy enemy' she was still innocent and fragile and not thinking ahead. And if Lyra was stupid enough to not value her life, she would agree and join them anyways.

Acknowledging Selene's irritated glare, Vera nodded at her, agreeing, "She's quite the treat." Vera purred, with a hint of a smile, she then took the cue that it was time to go at Dean's leaving. She signaled the huntress with a simple hand wave to let it be and move on, before getting into the path following after the hunter as he lead the way.

The wolf was seated right at Isabella's left, only stopping when she did to address the Brit girl who showed how clearly she wanted nothing to do with any of them in her retreat. Would Isabella be able to draw her in? That wasn't even a question, for how could anyone ever say no to such a sweet face?

"I'm gonna have to stop you right there," The hunter crossed towards them, separated his client from her pal, looked from one to the other before continuing, "see I was told to watch and protect you, not your BFF. Isabella you'll be putting Lyra in danger if she's around us. I'm not gonna sugar-coat this for you, you know what happens to the people we care about, they're targeted. Do you want your father's fate to be hers as well?" then he addressed Lyra in the same manner, "we can't afford another life getting swept up in this, I'm sure you already understand the situation here, do I need to tell you what that means?"

"He has a point there Brit, anyone that hangs around us knows what they're up against, know that at any moment they could get killed, what he's trying to do is protect you. I advise you listen and go on your way home to your parents." Vera added, turning after a moment to see if the rest of their group followed them here. It was true, they were a unit and they had to cooperate as one, stay strong and handle this in a uniform and professional manner. Any slip ups and it could be over, they needed their best assets, not another person that was as defenseless as a little kitten. They didn't have time for it or much anything to maintain it.

Looking up into the sky, Lyra could see that the air was clear, the moon shining full and bright and it was enough to make her tear up. She had once recalled a moment when she had been told by her travelling father that when he was away and night came, he would look up at the moon, which would be the same moon that she would look up to and know that in doing so it would be something the two shared. They lived beneath the same moon and were together even when they were apart, she wondered if he was watching her now from his home in Heaven, could he see her watching the moon now as she did? Maybe even in death he would always watch out for her, for that she hoped for.

"I will always be here for you Ly, don't forget that ever. I will not leave until I see to it that you are at peace in your heart," Katherine whispered, gently bringing her back to herself, she didn't like the sadness that weighed on her niece's heart like a heavy London fog. It made her feel like she wasn't doing enough for her. Would it ever be enough?

"LYRA!" Isabella called, her voice resonating through the forest. "Lyra, stop!"

She reached the girl, and caught her by the arm breathlessly. She had been running for a little while and was growing quite weary chasing her around. She doubled over, supporting herself with her hands on her knees and huffing for a few moments. Behind her, William materialized for the first time in a couple hours, watching the girl closely. He then shifted his gaze to Katherine as she stood near her niece, always guarding her to the best of her ability.

Lyra's eyes widened with utter surprise, before she smiled and settled her features to those of normalcy, this was Isabella here, not anything else. She felt William's presence and for a split second her eyes flickered to his spirit just before snapping back at the ebony haired girl she so dearly cared about as she did her.

"Won't you please stop running away? Look, with all that's been going on- demons, vampires, rogue werewolves and monsters- it's really not the smartest idea to go running around on your own. I mean, look what happened just now- if Julian hadn't been there, you could've easily been dinner for Botolf."

She let go of her friend's hand and stopped huffing and puffing. She stood upright and looked her dead in the eyes. She was just as stubborn as the Brit- she'd argue with her all night if she had to.

"My parents aren't in the picture anymore. My dad is dead, my mom is in Italy, and my house was burned to the ground. Now I've come to realize that the only way I can stay alive is to cooperate with my teammates," Isabella continued. "That's what we are. A team. None of us have parents to depend on anymore. Dean's dad was almost killed, Selene and Vera are all by themselves, and Julian's grandfather died this morning. We're all in a pretty similar boat, and the only people we have to rely on is each other."

She offered Lyra her hand.

"We all care about you. And we are all working to keep each other safe. We can't do that if you go off and get yourself killed all alone."

William's eyes glittered at the sound of Isabella's compassion. It mirrored that which Maria had possessed; his heart became extremely heavy, and although he was incapable of shedding tears, he was at a loss for words.

"The girl is right, woman," he told Katherine. "And you know it would ease your soul if she could rest among guardians that care for her almost as much as you do."

"Just come with us, Lyra. I'm sure Aleksei had better food to eat than a damn chocolate bar."

Julian's grandfather died? When? That was most dreadful and she felt sorry for him, wished she could console him even. And what was this? All that terrible mess fell around Isabella, all in one day? What the fahk was going on here? Why had she felt such a dark and heavy vibe emanate from the girl she knew was blessed? It almost scared her to think that there were people out there that wanted the girl to be subject to danger and uncertainty.

"Isabella…" she was beginning to say just as the hunter came in and further drew the two apart. He went on to explain why he did so, it was in order to keep her safe. And for that she would forever be grateful, it was like he was looking into her soul and reading out exactly what she wanted: nothing to do with this crap. She loved Isabella but she wasn't going involve herself in her life only to be in everyone's way. She was not going through that again, she would rather be alone.

Then the other lady, whom Lyra had never met before agreed and added that the girl keep on going straight home.

"Right, home, that's where I'm going." she said, smiling gently but not meaning any of it. Unless by home she could stay at a motel until she got a job and was able to hold her own in a small duplex perhaps. One step closer to-

"What home, Lyra you know you don't have one!" Katherine snapped, eliciting a flinch from the tired, British girl who'd snapped her eyes up to glare at her spirit. She could see the fire in her aunt's eyes, the gravity of her expression and knew that she had reached her limit, she was sure brassed off with her.

"So, I'll see you later Isabella, be safe-"

"No Lyra don't do that again!" Katherine yelled, gripping at her shoulder, stopping her from turning away again, making that mistake again. Yes she wanted to stop leaning against others, but now wasn't the time for that, she had to accept their help, or at least the help Isabella was promising.

Lyra stiffened at the icy chill crawling across her skin, Kat looked serious and wasn't about to let her have it her way, not this time. Shaking her head she pulled away and continued to walk, "they clearly have other plans and no room for me Katherine, let it go." she whispered, hoping they wouldn't hear her mumbling to herself as she inched away from them.

Katherine's spirit sizzled as she followed her niece, try as she might she couldn't really convince the girl otherwise, she kept walking away, "And you're going to let that stop you from getting the help you need? Are you that mad? Listen to Isabella for once in your life, you are not on your tod! She is there for you, why can't you-"

She was interrupted when the girl suddenly hesitated, looking up, Lyra's eyes flickered, a flash of light cut across her eyes as she heard that voice again in her mind. Dropping all of her things she sprang forwards running at full speed until she was back at her little camp with the tent and the fire. She sunk to her knees, stared at the flickering flames and with a slight nod to herslef reached out and stuck her hand whole into the flames, watching as her hand felt nothing but warmth and no pain.

She had faith.

Lyra was shaken when she found Dean suddenly gripping at her arm and demanding answers, blinking lightly she glanced back up at him her expression unreadable as she simply replied, "She was testing my faith, I'm fine Dean look." She wiggled her fimgers the warmth in her hand fading, she looked up again as the voice only she could hear addressed her. Then she looked at Isabella with sadness in her eyes but a smile playing at her lips, "I won't be a burden to you Isabella, I want to help you. So I think I'll accept Assaciel's help. That way you'll always be safe..." She upturned her face to the sky that was alit with such a vibrant light that it was almost like day. Lyra's eyes lit up and her body absorbed the light into herself and soon the light was gome leaving them in darkness. The Brit stood up her gaze serious as she then blinked her eyes returning to their amber hue. She looked normal but she wasn't, far from it.

Michael remained close to Selene as Lyra accepted the angel to use her as its vessel. Thia could be either a good thing or a very bad thing. It wasn't everyday that you meet an actual angel.

Katherine glared at her niece, so pissed off she was that she stepped away from the girl aware that whoever and whatever invaded her body had sent her niece packing. She couldn't demand the angel to leave her however because she had said yes to this.

Michael said, "Lyra... What happened?"

The girl lowered her eyes to meet the stranger that had called her by her vessels former name, "I am not the Lyra of which you speak of. My name is Assaciel an angel of the Lord." There was no trace of an English accent in her tone which sounded more serious and adult like than it ever had been. She then leveled her gaze toward the Lombardi child, her eyes softened and her expression looked almost a little friendly. "You really are beautiful in person, Ella was right."

Michael glanced from the girl to Selene, "That's not our medium anymore, guess we got a new team mate. But I wonder now, what happened to Lyra?"

Isabella grew utterly infuriated at Dean's sudden interruption. She pushed past him angrily as she trailed after Lyra, who had decided to run off again, probably hurt by his insensitivity, among other things. She shot him a deathly glare, yanking the hand that he had grasped free from him and following her after her dear friend.

"How could you be that insensitive, Dean?" she yelled. "My father was killed because he wasn't protected- if Lyra stays with us, we can keep her safe! I don't care if you're hired to protect me, she's my best friend, and if you're gonna just write her off as baggage then you can stay away from me, too."

Then she saw Dean reach the girl who had stuck her hand in the fire and savagely tear her away from it. Horrified, Isabella pushed him away from the medium, but she couldn't get any closer before a blinding flash of light obscured their vision for a split moment. Shielding her eyes, she withdrew from her friend, until the light faded and Lyra with a completely different countenance watched them curiously.

Then the girl spoke, with a much different tone than Isabella expected, and revealed that she was no longer Lyra but an angel sent from heaven. When she spoke to Isabella directly, she couldn't help but become even more terrified; how could this angel have known who she was? She backed away slowly, her eyes becoming watery at realizing that her friend was gone.

"L-Lyra?" she muttered pitifully. "What have you done with her? Where is she?!"

William watched the entire episode unfold before them with an unwavering expression. At sensing Katherine's anger, he placed a reassuring hand on her shoulder, though he couldn't offer much else to comfort the spirit he had never met before. Before the angel could see them, he retreated into the shadows, though he remained near Isabella, who seemed like she was finally about to cave in.

Selene looked to Michael, as if inquiring about what had just happened. Upon seeing Isabella rush madly at the angel, as if she intended to strike her, Selene caught her by the arms and held her in her grasp. She began to sob- Lyra was the only part of her normal life that was left, and now she was gone too; everyone she ever loved had just disappeared, like vapor. Now, even Aleksei had left, too, and who knew when he was going to return.

"What have you done with the girl, angel?" Selene addressed the new phenomenon, though her voice was more respectful that full of spite.

Isabella, however, wept quietly in Selene's arms. The huntress felt awkward, holding the crying girl, something that was a gesture of intimacy she wasn't quite used to showing to others. She turned and looked helplessly at Veratos and then to Michael before she reverted her gaze to the angel.

At the same moment, Julian and his sister Artemis appeared from the darkness of the surrounding forest. They were silent in their movement, both watching Lyra curiously before realizing it was not the medium, but an ethereal being. Immediately, they bowed to their knees, though Julian's eyes began glossy and he furrowed his brows. Where had Lyra gone, and how could he find her again and bring her back to her friends?

The angel expected that reaction from Isabella so she wasn't much bothered by it, at her question which was also another thing that she anticipated, Assaciel frankly responded, "Lyra's soul is in Heaven. All I did was answer her prayer, she wanted this Isabella." Even if she could explain her reasons it would do nothing to console the girl, she had lost a dear friend, and there was absolutely nothing in the world the angel could do to make anything better for her. Sensing the others around her react at her arrival, Assaciel remained still, not making any sudden movements so as not to cause unnecessary fright about her. She came in peace as clichéd as that sounded, and was only present to aid -nothing more. She switched her gaze to the next face that called to her, this one a huntress, Selene. She too was interested in the human girl's status, "You all need to understand this, Lyra has given me consent to serve as a vessel. I'm here because God commanded it, and I will follow through with my orders, there is a great war coming and it must be apprehended, which means Isabella must be kept away from those who wish to use her for power," the angel's eyes surveyed the bunch that had collected around her, as of now it appeared that none of these people would be prepared for the great danger that the Lombardi girl would face had she been attacked now. Perhaps the hunter would be, but she could also see that they had yet to form a tight unit, or even a plan of action. Good thing she dropped in.

Michael petted the top of Isabella's head, finding consolation rather natural on his part, he would try to soothe the distraught Italian girl but this was a pain much worse for her than anything yet, and he could tell that there would be much more to come. Glancing at Selene, he whispered further clarification, "That's not Lyra anymore, Assaciel is riding inside her now, and that means it's really getting serious. Not a simple case anymore love," he eyed the auburn haired girl curiously, this would also be his first at witnessing an angel full on. He couldn't say he would enjoy this much. angels and vampires weren't exactly BFFs after all, it would be tough, but they were all on the same team so maybe it wouldn't be so bad.

"So that's it, Lyra's soul is in Heaven, she's dead now?" Michael asked Assaciel, just to be on the sure side, a question he was positive Isabella would want answered as well.

Assaciel stared at the vampire, her face unfazed by the creature's presence what so ever, at his query she took no longer than a heartbeat to say,"That depends on many factors, but most importantly if Lyra decides she wants to return when all this is over."

"So she's not dead then, just sitting it out in cloud 9? And why her of all people?"

"Correct. And finding a vessel durable enough to contain me --it's not easy. Now, tell me your status." This time she was directing this to the hunter Dean, who just like her was of celestial blood, but not so heavenly. She had heard of him amongst the angels, of his father who like no other had defied expectations and twisted his role of a demon into those of a hero, siding for the sake of humanity over destruction and chaos. It was why, she was more than happy to assist them in this cause, save the world, save its people.

By transport she meant teleport, herself and them all through time and space to another location, she could cover great distances in a matter of seconds. So no airport would be required for when the time came to go to Italy. Aleksei could not help but ponder whether that was a good thing or a bad thing in their case. "Yes, my home, it's safe there, I've already prepared the place for Isabella's stay. We can discuss this there." He provided, reaching the angel then turning to the others to clarify a few things. "Isabella you have nothing to fear, your friend is safe as long as the angel is here, she won't let anything happen to Lyra's body I can promise you that. I know it's a bit much to take, but remember it's what Lyra wanted too. She wanted to help you, not hinder you with worries, Salvatore was right, having her involved would only have put her in risk at the long haul. As you can see now, that changed the instant Assaciel took over, not all hope is lost. You will see Lyra again soon."

Dean crossed his arms but said nothing more of the matter, Aleksei was right for once, the hunter had no arguements against him. Now that Lyra was just a meat suit for a powerful angel, she wasn't as vulnerable any more and more of a necessity on their team than just another person he had to protect, along with Isabella. It was at this moment that he was seeing what Isabella had meant, they all needed to work together and rely on the power of a group in order to make it.

But what haunted him was the thoughts formulating in his mind, No world is without sacrifices, and it works both ways, if we produce casualties, we're likely to sustain casualties of our own. This won't be an easy fight, but I'll go down swingin' all the way. But it kills me to even think that we might not all come out of this in one piece. Because I know deep down that we won't. he frowned as he nodded back at the vampire and stepped closer, seeing Veratos take his hand and reach out to grab at Aleksei's offered one so that they could all form a link, he turned to take Isabella's although with her breaking down, he didn't think she would even want him to touch her so he placed a hand over Selene's shoulder. The vampire held Isabella, and she in turn was in contact with Michael.

He would give Assaciel a chance, but as soon as she showed even the slightest hint of betrayal, he would cast her out and send her packing right back to the attic upstairs if he had to. If there was something he couldn't stand, was bastards pretending to be people they weren't and hurting those he cared about. Maybe they were all sorta strangers and haven't known each other very long, but the hunter was already feeling like they were family and when it came to family he took that very seriously.
