Age: Unknown
Personality: The Reagent, first and foremost, has a loathing for what the mortals of this time period refer to magic. He has an old and deep seated hatred for the practice, for an, in his mind, very good reason. He speaks with deliberate care, not moving as fast in speech as some leaders attempt to do, and speaks rarely, usually to voice his decision on an affair. He speaks with heavy weight in everything he bothers speaking of, being a man of few words. He has a particular disdain for the other beings that call themselves ‘Immortal’ or lead such lives, seeing them as offenses of nature.
Vocation: Reagent of Aliyonia
Race: Ancient One
Height: 7ft 0in
Weight:377lbs
Scars/Tattoos/Piercings: None that can be discerned from outside the armor.
History: In the mists of time, far before man as he is known today dreamed of writing down the histories of the world, a superior race of men existed. Death by age was unknown to them, and they wielded powerful weapons, nigh unbreakable armor, and physical forms that were undreamt of in conditioning. These Ancient Ones ruled over the lesser beings of the realm, the ones lacking in sentience and in power. These lesser beings saw the Ancient Ones as their gods, and whole pantheons were worshipped as saviors and stewards of their people. Magic did not exist as it is known today, instead the Ken, as it was called, fueled the endless lives of the Ancient Ones. However, such a situation could not last forever. Rortug was the son of the lord of the Reagent of the Ancient Ones, and ruled with the same iron fist as his father had, having finally been slain in a clan war between two Pantheons of the Ancient Ones.
The clan they were fighting was a group of revolutionaries, dabbling in the Ken in a new form, known as magic. They wielded the ancient proto magic in its rawest form would have appalled the current mage, if not for the sheer power that was wielded. The revolutionaries were slowly being battered back, and made a desperate ploy. They turned to the lesser beings of the realm, using the proto magic to release energy that enhanced their sensitivity to magic and raised some of their sentience. The now enlightened first generations of mages and mortals rebelled against the iron fist of the Ancient Ones, slaughtering all but the revolutionaries, and a handful of other Ancients. There was a very unforeseen cost, however, and the revolutionaries began dying of old age. By tapping the Ken as magic, it robbed them of their source of life. One pure Ancient One watched the fall of his people, and turned from the flames of conflict sprouting in the aftermath of their fall. Rortug, last of the Ancients, would enter an ancient slumber, preserving his being for a time when he could strike his vengeance against magic.
Fast forward to the earliest days of the cult that would be destined to overrun the demon run Aliyonia. This band had discovered the body of Rortug, and when they had attempted to loot the body, awoke the slumbering Ancient. He casually bested them all, not even bothering to draw his blade. He came up with a ploy, a god for them to follow, and for him to be the prophet leader of. Xekova, his father, acted as the god being they worshipped, and he strengthened his Ken as the Order of Xekova started striking out in terroristic actions, preparing for the usurpation of the Aliyonian throne. Sure enough, he led the massed forces of his Order out into the streets, casually striking down any demon who crossed his path, ancient armor rebuking the refined but far weakened magic the demons dared conjure against him, fists smashing apart the opposition, blade still undrawn. The blade tasted blood once, slaying the former Reagent, and turned his eye to the magical jewel of Maliusya, being rebuked once, swore it would not happen again.
Ten years , an eyeblink in the mind of Rortug, passed before he would find a ploy that would best these magic users, descendents of those that betrayed his race. Inquisitors, as he christened them, had the very magical essence within them, what would act as Ken in another time, removed completely. This void was hungry for something to fill it, and would gladly eat at the magic conjured against it, and fuel the furious power of the Inquisitors. It was a painful, horrific, and scarring process, personally attended to by the Priests of the original Order of Xekova. These new warriors would be his vanguard, and strike down the fool magi that had rebuked his forces before. With an almost silent command, the ravaging of Maliusya would begin properly. These new forces were methodical and cruel, inheriting their master’s patience and determination. They would be the face of the fate of all mages, their heresies and traitorous existence would be smothered out, once and for all.
Equipment:
Infinity Hauberk: The set of armor Rortug wears at all times, and bears no clear way to be removed. The armor was forged and reforged during his time as son of Xekova to face the sheer power of the proto magic facing the loyalists. This Hauberk cannot be forced by magic, although insidious enough magic can worm its way to a place that can cause discomfort. The armor itself is forged out of ancient materials and techniques, creating a nigh unstoppable juggernaut of armor and rage, shrugging off everything thrown at it in the singular purpose of defeating those that saw his eternal life ruined. His armor’s most unique feature is its weightless nature on Rortug, but unusable due to weight for anyone else.
Ancient Forge Gauntlets: The only piece of armor forged in the old forge designed to stop the proto magic, these gauntlets were reclaimed by Rortug. Specially designed in the cause of besting magic and other warriors, the harshly clawed and rune covered gloves can literally snap magical strands in the air, and the clawed fingers can very easily slash down any foe in his way. Like the Hauberk, it weighs nothing on the body of Rortug, but no one else can even lift the material.
Black Razor: The sword that Rortug has wielded since his initial fights against the enemies of the old pantheon of the Ancient Ones. The blade is sharper than most materials could emulate, let alone match. The Ken that Rortug has can be focused, increasing the reach and damage the blade can cause onto others. The blade also shares its anti magic and weight traits of the other pieces of gear, being unusable by others and can slice and cut down magic easily.
