Inocencia Ragin

"Hardly any human being is capable of pursuing two professions or two arts rightly. Plato said that...but I'm not quite human..."

a character in “The Ragin Clan”, as played by Vix

Description

Image

Name:
I've had so many names over the centuries. But you can call me Inocenicia Ragin.

Age:
It's rude to ask a lady her age, but I'll let you in on my secret. While I look no older than twenty-five or even thirty, I'm truly 258 years old.

Role:
Katherine Inocencia Ragin

Likes:
  • Music
  • Singing
  • Dancing
  • Painting
  • Drawing
  • Poetry
  • Writing
  • Playing the Piano and Guitar
  • Interior Design
  • Fine wine
  • Fine blood
  • My husband
  • My 'children'
  • Fighting
  • Dying my hair

Dislikes:
  • Threats to my family
  • Beer
  • Cheap liquor
  • Abortions. Why? I know they say that giving birth is painful, but I'd give anything to experience the ability to give life. I hate to see young women tossing away unborn lives because they couldn't keep their legs closed. Rape cases are one thing. Being a slut is another.

Hopes:
I have no hopes and dreams. I have achieved all that I can. I wish only that my works as an artist in each field would be famously recognized with my face to claim them...but we know why that's quite impossible.

Fears:
  • Losing my family
  • Hobos. Not homeless people. Hobos, like the ones that you see in movies that are all dirty with missing teeth and try to shank you for your money. I know it's strange, but they frighten me!

Personality:
I'm very warm, attentive to others, kindly, and easy-going. Or so I've heard. I would say that I'm an intelligent and mature woman and all around emotionally stable. But don't think that I'm just a 'stick-in-the-mud' sort of mom! Oh, no! I'm quite cheery, animated, and socially bold. I don't have an issue with introducing myself to anyone or starting up any sort of conversation. I'm quite dutiful and goal-oriented. When something needs to be done, I assure that it gets done within the amount of time that it needs to be done. I don't have time for slackers or slacking. I run the Coven with my husband with an iron fist. But don't think that I'm cold or militaristic - I'm quite intuitive and empathetic. When I decide that I'm going to hold a grudge, I hold it for quite some time. And if I get mad, I stay mad for quite some time. What are my soft spots, you ask? Take me to an opera, an art gallery, take me to an Enya concert. Or you could buy me those new ballet slippers that I've been eyeing for some time. Yes, I know that I sound like a sensitive sort of woman who might hide behind her husband and sons when things get physical, but I assure you that I'm on the front lines with them. Of course since I don't really change much in appearance, I still have a top hourglass figure. But I have an immense amount of strength and I will fight to the death if I must to make sure that my loved ones are safe.

Background:
I was born in in the spring of 1754 to wealthy parents in Spain. I was born two years before the Seven Years' War, and even though most of Spain seemed to be living in a downfall due to the nature of the War, my father handled his money wisely and we lived well throughout the War. My childhood was a one of spoiling - I got anything and everything that I wanted from fine jewelry to extravagant
gowns. I had many suitors, but I favored none of them. All they wanted was my dowry. I remember the night that I was bitten like it was only days ago. I remember that I had been traveling with a guard to meet a suitor that my father had said that I must marry. A forced marriage! Of course I wasn't happy. The carriage I was riding in was attack by bandits who killed everyone and left me for dead when they stole everything that I had. I thought I was going to die for sure. And then he came. He called him James Ragin and I swear that I fell in love with him the moment I saw him. He saved me with his bite and I've been ever grateful since. We eventually went on and got married and I followed him everywhere. We settled down in a small place called 'Thrasher' some couple of years ago with those in our Coven. I call them our children. We've been here ever since.

Appearance:
I have a ‘top hourglass’ figure with a beautifully defined waist and a bust that is larger than my hips. My shoulders are rounded gently, aligning nicely with my hips. My waist is obvious and gracefully curves out into my hips. I have a rounded bottom with long legs and a medium-length torso. My almond shaped eyes are the only thing about me that seem to change - They are either a shade of blue and green or they're grey. It's something that I cherish. My hair is a dark brown color that's almost black, my thick mane cascading down to my knees. I'm often seen with it dyed a blonde shade lately. True to my Hispanic background, my flesh is a smooth fallow shade, not a single blemish on my body. I'm often spotted wearing nice evening gowns of the Victorian Era fashion - My favorite.

So begins...

Ino was hard at work – In bed. She had been feeling blue lately, but she couldn’t quite pinpoint why. Obviously she wasn’t physically sick, so she tried not to think too much on it. She had been doing nothing but 'sleeping' in the past few days and today was the first time she had done something besides sleeping. She was lying on her belly, garbed in her favorite silk teddy and fuzzy slippers with her hair down, pooling around her body as she worked slowly on a sketch that was turning to look out like a family portrait. She lifted her head some at the sound of her husband’s voice and smiled lightly as she called out in a lush, Hispanic accent. “I’m in the room, my love!” From there, she went back to her sketching, not really trying to hurry – As her strokes were long and meaningful.

James smiled at the sound of Inocencia's voice and followed her melodic words upstairs and into their bedroom. It was James' favorite room in the house despite the fact that neither him or Ino actually had to use the room for its purpose; to sleep. The room was necessary to the house though. What would they do if a human came inside for some reason and the house had no bedrooms? It would be an awkward affair-- that was for sure and the last thing that he wanted was for any suspicion to be directed at the family. He liked Thrasher, Oregon and really did not want to have to leave for a while. Of course they would have to relocate sooner or later, once everyone around them started to age and it was obvious that they were not, but James still figured they would be able to reside in Thrasher for another ten years or so.

"How has your day been?" James asked, making his way towards the bed as he leaned in to kiss his wife. He glanced down at the drawing in his wife's hand and smiled. "Ah, I see you've been busy with a new piece of art?"

"How has your day been?" James asked, making his way towards the bed as he leaned in to kiss his wife. He glanced down at the drawing in his wife's hand and smiled. "Ah, I see you've been busy with a new piece of art?"

Ino smiled lightly and leaned up some, pausing in her art to capture her beloved's lips in a brief kiss before turning her gaze back to her picture. "I feel much better than I have these past couple of days. And yes - Yet another family portrait. Like I haven't made enough these past couple of centuries." She gave a chuckle as she heaved her delicate body up and brought her sketch pad with her, setting it on her nightstand. "This bed is really comfortable. We should use it more often...For lazy days." She grinned a bit as she stood up, wrapping her arms about his body, resting her head against his chest and inhaling his scent. "How was work, my darling?"
