Aella Zabat

"War brings nothing but pain and warriors, two things I hate."

a character in “The Reign of Dragons”, as played by Child of the Winged

Description

Image
Image
Name: Aella Zabat

Dragon’s Name and Color: Deimos, Bronze (Deimos is only the size of a large horse, a birth defect.)

Appearance: Aella's hair has a bronze tint to it and her eyes change colors with her emotions. They're normally a grey color. Red-anger, blue-sadness, green-happiness, black-fear, purple-annoyance, brown-content, orange-loneliness, yellow-curiosity, white-embarrassment

Age: 60

Race: Elf

Strengths/Abilities: She talks to animals and her voice can control emotions. She has a water healing magic and uses it to heal anyone, although she gets inflicted with the aliments. She also dabbles in dark magic, mostly blood and illusions. She's extremely flexible.

Weakness: She hates anything that has to do with swords and sees warriors as horrid killing machines with good reason. She has a weak spot for small children and animals, often giving what money she has to orphans. She has a bleeding heart and shows her emotions.

Personality: Kind and caring, Aella sees to it that if someone needs something, she'll get it. She often get in trouble because of this but she finds a way out. When, if ever, she gets into battle, she's mindful of her surroundings and often puts her allies and bystanders before herself. This often makes Deimos' job of keeping her safe a chore but he enjoys having a giving friend.

Orientation: Neutral, completely neutral

Equipment: Her staff, her bow and her armor (see pictures below)

History: Born in Lethandrill, Aella grew up with the elves, but bonded with a Bronze dragon, much to everyone's dismay. Aella didn't care, she loved Deimos from day one. When she began doing darker magics, her parents took her and her dragon to the mountains where no dragon had claimed and left her. Understanding why they did that, the two began their life on the mountain, often watching the other dragons fly around. Deimos never joined them because he was smaller than the others, a fact Aella has soothed over many times.

With the mountain as base, they started a free clinic, a fact that still brought in money, from donations and the like. Once while in the clinic, they sheltered both a group of human knights and a few elven hunters. They fought and disturbed the peace in the clinic. Kicking both groups out, she warned them to never come around here again. She's hated swordsmen ever since. Aella decided to move to a neutral city but Deimos has claimed the mountain as his, seeing as how it's close to Kingsburrow and Lethandrill.

They've created a home in the city Kingsburrow but will take house calls to the other cities. They do not want anything to do with the warring dragons, seeing it as wasteful to a dragon's talents and with all the swords laying about. Deimos agrees and they only heal soldiers that pay for her services.

Aella walked through the streets of Skyfall, Deimos following behind her. They had just finished saving a family from a deadly magical burn. Suddenly she heard a crash and Deimos' nose twitched. "You sense it too? Let's go!" Aella let Deimos lead with his better nose when they came to a body, a human, but that didn't matter to her right now. She knelt beside him and looked over the wounds. They looked too bad for her to treat here.

"Ael... We'll need to get him to the safe house. The one in Kingsburrow should do" Deimos told her and she nodded, pulling out her staff. Luckily, there was enough water in her pouch to surround his wounds to keep them steady as she loaded in onto Deimos' back. The bronze dragon snorted and took off, flying to Kingsburrow with ease.

Upon landing, Aella worked fast. Bringing the man inside and began healing him the old fashion way. She couldn't risk getting such severe injures. She removed the clothing and armor in her way and began using the water to stop the bleeding. Her arms began bleeding lightly but she continued until she got everything cleaned and all the daggers removed. She sighed and leaned against Deimos, who began siphoning his energy to her. She cleaned and folded the clothes before looking over the daggers with distaste. "Blades... Ugh..." she washed those as well and set them beside the man. She hoped he awoke soon. "You'd better be worth my bandages, you handsome blood spilling warrior." She told the still man before sitting in a chair near the bed.

"Raiyn...Raiyn!" Vy's voice called to him, trying to wake him. The Assassin didn't want to wake up, he was peacefully asleep in a place where he didn't feel pain or nausea. However, his dragon continued to call to him, and he felt strength return to his body. A gift from Vy no doubt, and a wake up call. Raiyn shifted slightly, but groaned as he did so. His shoulder and chest felt like they were on fire. Without opening his eyes, he reached up with his good hand to touch where the throwing knives had pierced him. His fingers felt cloth, but it wasn't his. Raiyn opened his eyes and looked down at his chest. His shirt was gone, but wrapped around his shoulder and chest was a white piece of cloth, two splotches of dark red marking where he'd been injured.

Looking around, he dully noted that he wasn't in his own house in Skyfall. In fact, he wasn't entirely sure where he was. Raiyn shifted to his good side and sat up, the sheet that covered him falling down onto his lap. He glanced down, thankful that at least who ever had treated him had left his pants on. The only thing he couldn't find at that moment was his shirt and the weapons that he always carried on him.

"Where am I, Vy?"

"Kingsburrow."

The Assassin's eyes widened in shock. How in the name of Riena did he get into Kingsburrow? On the defensive, his gaze scanned the room he was in. No one was with him, and his shirt was folded neatly on a table across the room. Slowly getting out of the bed he was in, he made his way towards the table. Walking seemed to be no problem, but the moment he tried to pull the shirt and layered cloth over his arms and body, the fire in his shoulder exploded. Raiyn dropped onto one knee, his good hand clutching his wounded shoulder.

"You shouldn't move so soon!"

"How else am I getting out of here and back to Skyfall?"

"If she wanted you dead, I think she would have left you to bleed out on the street."

"She? Whoever she is, she should have left me there. Father would have sent someone and you wouldn't let me die so easily."

Vy huffed, projecting his irritation to the Assassin clearly enough, "The point still remains, stop trying to move your arm. You'll only make it worse."

"Still, I would like to be back in Skyfall..." he muttered to himself.

Aella felt Deimos shift and she jolted awake. She turned to the dragon, who was laying on the bed, facing the door. "Deimos? What's wrong?" She knew the dragon had carried her to her bed but not why he was so alert. She smoothed a hand over his side before getting up. She pulled on her robe and quickly fastened it. She opened the door to her patient moving around. She rubbed a hand down her face and sighed. "Oi... Please, don't panic. Your injures were too severe for me to treat in Skyfall, I brought you to my clinic in Kingsburrow. Stop moving and agitating your wounds. I didn't heal you for you to make it worse." Deimos was out of the room and was resting his head on her shoulders.

"Still, I would like to be back in Skyfall..."

"I'll send you back as soon as you're all fixed up and you've eaten." she went to the cabinets and began withdrawing different foods from there. An assortment of fruits, some bread and a water flask. "If you'll lay back down on the bed, I could treat you faster and you could leave faster. I have to get back to Skyfall anyways, stupid super natural spiders..." she muttered the last bit, slicing the fruit with an arrow head. She refused to use blades in her house. Finishing, she set it all on a plate with some fresh bread and set it in front of the human warrior.

"Ael? Will he pay like the rest? He might hurt you if you make it free..." Deimos asked as he nosed through another cabinet, this one full of meats. Aella bit into an apple and watched the warrior before shrugging.

"Naw. He didn't plea for my help or anything. His only crime was he was stabbed with a bunch of magical propelled daggers." she answer before opening up a window and smiling at the kids running around. "Hello there!" she called out, waving. They waved back and ran to the window.

"Hi, miss Zabat!" they chorused, waving while they ran to the school yard. They were so cute...

Raiyn reeled backwards at the sound of her voice, grabbing at his shirt. His fingers curled along the edge of a throwing knife, the only weapon he had left on his person. The short sword would be too obvious to grab hold of. He was crouched down in a position ready to fight, but as he watched her, he realized how very harmless she was. And quite pretty as well...

"Raiyn..." Vy's voice held a hint of impatience. The Assassin straightened himself, standing a good couple of inches taller than the elven woman. The woman looked out the window, waved to some children and continued on cleaning the mess he'd made of the bed and table. He moved silently to the bed, let go of his shirt and sat down, still watching her. Raiyn wasn't particularly hungry, but he took a piece of fruit anyway so that he wasn't being rude.

"You are the one who healed me?" He asked softly. Then he remembered what else she'd said and raised an eyebrow, "Supernatural spiders... I wonder..." he let his thoughts go. Perhaps the magi who he had encountered the night before were connected to that occurance. It would make sense at least, they were using foul magic.

"It's a high possibility. I don't like the sounds of this, Raiyn. Something very strange is going on."

"There's always something strange going on. Especially between those three." Raiyn replied through their connection.

Vy huffed, "No, it's more than that."

The Assassin to another bite of the fruit he held, wondering what could possibly be going on. Vy seemed to be agitated about something, and it was a little more than just the three higher dragons feuding with each other all the time.

"What's your name? So I can properly thank you, lovely Lady." Raiyn asked having finished his fruit. He leaned down to grab his shirt, but the pull on his shoulder was too much and he quickly straightened, grinding his teeth and glaring at the layers of cloth at his feet.

City Crystacia

"There's some dark magic going on lately," an older woman's voice caught the elf's attention. She slowed her pace so she could eavesdrop on the conversation going on behind her.

"Yes, I can feel it too. I heard a scream in the dead of night last night, right when the moon was mid sky. Something terrible is going on."

"Do you think Queen Fae knows about this?"

"She should, she's the Queen!"

"Rin," Sage called to her brilliant blue dragon.

"I've been feeling like something awful is about to happen. It's hard to explain..." Rin replied slowly, her voice holding a sense of uncertainty. Sage understood why her dragon never told her about the feeling. It was just barely present, like a pesky dull ache that can be easily over looked or forgotten. The elf continued on her way, she had stopped in Crystacia for supplies before leaving again to Skyfall. It was a long flight, and she didn't want to be out of food or water before the trip was over. Though she loved Crystacia, she didn't care to stay for long. She wasn't too inclined to fight for the White dragon's war, though they were probably the least violent between the three. Queen Fae tried to settle things via talking, but most of the time it only ended in fighting anyway. Sage frowned.

"We should find Gwindor."

"What? Why?"

"Because he can help us to figure out this feeling. He is much older and wiser. Then we can go to Skyfall."

Sage finished buying her supplies and headed to the gates of the city. Once outside, she met with Rin, the large blue dragon lay out on the open grass, allowing the sun to warm her brilliantly flashing scales. "Then it's a plan."

"You are the one who healed me?"

"Well, it was a group effort... I only siphoned magic from Deimos here and poured it out to you..." she rubbed the new scars from that one before she turned to the snorting dragon. Deimos had a look of amusement mixed with annoyance.

"It was all you, Ael. Do not lie to the human. It doesn't do well..." the dragon told her, burying his snout in her stomach. She pulled away and tapped his nose.

"Shut it, Deimos. Anyways, yeah, supernatural spiders... They're biting everyone and I'm swamped with work... I'm hired to get rid of them and heal the victims... Apparently, I'm the only one in Draakon who can do this." she gathered the potions and salves when she heard a tap at her window. It was Alec, her messenger. She took the letters and handed the boy a silver coin. He bowed to her and ran off. She looked over them. Most were thank you letters from people that jingled with coins. She shook her head and smiled. The rest were letters from her mother and requests from employers. She tossed those on the table and sighed. "No rest for the healers..." she muttered. Deimos snorted again before walking into the bedroom.

"What's your name? So I can properly thank you, lovely Lady."

She blushed some before Deimos nudged her shoulder. "My name? Well, I'm known as the Dragon Healer Zabat but you can call me Aella. Mind telling me yours while I help you dress?" she walked over to the human and picked up his shirt. "Raise your arms... I'll push magic through your wounds to keep the pain to a minimum... I will have to, er, touch the areas so please bear with me if my touch in undesired..." She rested her hands on his chest and shoulder, much like a lover would, and felt the mana-laced water travel up her arms and around her fingers. She had a light dusting of pink on her cheeks and ears but it would take looking really close to see it. She just hoped the warrior didn't notice or take offence.

He let her touch him, pushing magic through his body to keep the pain of the wounds to a minimum. Raiyn almost forgot that she'd asked for his name as well. It wasn't until she'd gotten his shirt mostly put on that he remembered. He'd been busy admiring her. The Assassin sat quietly for some time while she worked with the layers of cloth. A simple white shirt went on first, then covered by a long red cloth that wrapped around his shoulders and torso. Over that another red cloth, thicker than the last and lacing up the front, finally a black tunic like material to cover it all and hide his weapons. The last portion of his clothing was a long white strip of silk, clasped onto the top of his shoulder by a gold clip. It was the mark of an Assassin. That he took from her hands and put on himself, standing as he did so.

Raiyn grabbed his gloves in one hand and took hers in the other. He raised it to his lips, all the while keeping eye contact, never looking away. He kissed the back of her hand gently, bowed before her and released her fingers, "Thank you, Aella, Dragon healer. I am Raiyn V'lyn."

"Why don't you tell her your an Assassin while you're at it, Raiyn," Vy said, his voice stuffy. Raiyn smiled at his dragons words, he didn't reply knowing why the dragon was giving him a hard time. He couldn't help it, he always treated women like this. To him, they were all beautiful and deserved such treatment. Once he straightened and pulled on his gloves, he took his weapons that were on the table.

"Don't worry about the spiders. My fath-"

"Raiyn!" Vy was alerted by something, his fear and worry flooded the Assassin. He stopped in mid sentence, directing his attention completely to where he knew Vy was perched outside the city of Kingsburrow.

"Vy," he whispered aloud, his throat tight.

"We have to go, now! Something's happening in Skyfall... your Father, Raiyn," the dragon left the sentence unfinished. Raiyn finished strapping his short sword to his hip and turned to leave. His quick movements jarred his shoulder, but he ignored the burn as Aella's magic slowly faded from his system. The Assassin was out of the room silently in a matter of moments. His thoughts completely on getting back to Skyfall. He rushed out of the house and into the street. Following his dragon's presence, he ran up the side of one of the buildings and was on the roof. Using the rooftops to his advantage, he moved faster through the city. The city wall loomed closer, and beyond it he could hear Vy's wing strokes.

Raiyn rushed across the last rooftop, then used all of his strength to jump and reach the top of the wall. His grip on the wall almost slipped, but he pulled himself up over it and jumped off the other side into thin air. Vy flew right under him and they took off quickly towards Skyfall.

Sage By'rill

Her and Rin had landed in a forest far from any of the cities or towns. She had heard that Gwindor's last known area of residence was somewhere in that forest. All she had to do was find him.

"Because finding an old elf in a large forest is something I do all the time," she muttered. Beside her Rin made a coughing sound, but Sage knew that her blue dragon was laughing at her. She turned her glittering eyes on her dragon, made a face and then continued into the forest in search of the elder elf.

City Skyfall

Mr. V'lyn felt the strange presence before he could see it. Several of the guild's Assassin's were already with him, so he left the large house and went into the street. What he found was astonishing. It washed away all the worries he had about the feud between the three powerful dragon races. Magic was being used all across the city, screams were beginning to fill the streets of Skyfall. Overhead tons of dragons circled, their cries joining those of the humans.

A large group of black cloaked figures were moving about the city, raining their power down on the innocent people. Mr V'lyn had been suspicious about the magic users that had entered the city three nights ago. He had yet to hear from his son, but at the rate the city was going, he may never hear from him. The Assassin raised his hand, anger clear on his face. He wouldn't allow this evil to destroy his city. Two gloved fingers flicked forward and with the signal, his Assassin's moved into the streets, engaging the enemy.

Aella was red by the end of the encounter with the mysterious Raiyn. Deimos nudged her to the bedroom and her work robes. She snapped out of it and frowned. "That's my payment for healing you, huh? A kiss on the hand... Could've at least kissed my cheek..." she muttered before shaking her head. Deimos snorted again. "Shut it, Dei! An elf can dream..."

She got her bell dress and outer robes on while Deimos slid on his head piece. She pulled on her gloves and boots as Deimos grabbed her pre-packed bag and slung it on his back. Aella grabbed both staff and bow, the quiver on Deimos' back already. "Let's head out..." The two walked out of the clinic and onto the square where they promptly took to the skies.

"Say, Aella, how many requests did we get for this job?" Deimos asked her over the wind currents. She pulled out a stack of paper and counted them. She sighed and threw them all to the winds.

"82, and that's only the nobles..." Deimos sighed and flew faster. Aella had to flip her hood up to keep the wind out of her face. Deimos' goggles came down over his eyes. They would make it to Skyfall eventually. This was one of the many times both rider and dragon thanked Deimos' smaller, more aerodynamic form. They pasted other riders, bobbing and weaving between the larger wings. The two flew through a flock of birds and asked them where the spiders where in Skyfall. The leader told them that it was under the city, in the sewers.

Sighing, she muttered about soiled skirts and new boots. Deimos merely laughed at his friend's pains as a being that needed clothing before he felt her punching his back. Then he laughed harder. "Stupid dragon..." she pouted.

"Love you too, Ael!" the dragon cooed at her and she smiled at him

Then she saw Skyfall. Her eyes widen at the carnage and her face fell. "Deimos..."

"I see it too... What in the name of the Gods is going on..?"

"I don't know... Let's go!" The two flew towards the city and they heard the screams. Both knew this was beyond the warring dragons. None would attack a neutral city like this!

Fitting between the sparring dragons was easy but landing was difficult. They had to clear a spot for Deimos' bulk. Eventually, the two settled for landing on the enemy. Even before Aella touched the ground, she had her bow out and was shooting black cloaked people. They had landed in the middle of what seemed to be a hostage situation. Deimos was swiping at the nearest mage, knocking them across the street. The two managed to kill all the black cloaks and free the hostages. She quickly wrapped bandages and soothed children before she nodded at Deimos. He stayed with the hostages while she ran forward, weaving and flipping over everything.

She saw a magic user, well, she thought he was, with the staff on his back and all. Notching an arrow, she whistled at the boy, hopefully gaining his attention. "If you're a black cloak, tell me now or I'll stick this arrow somewhere you don't want it. She aimed a bit lower, around his waist. She raised an eyebrow. "Who are you and what in the Gods names happened here?" she questioned. She didn't want to hurt him but she had to protect as many people as possible and if it meant taking out a kid, so be it.

Before the boy could answer, a more black cloaks, about 10, appeared. She swore and began taking them out, aiming for necks, eyes and temples. Anything they threw at her, she dodged and hit them with an arrow. Her thoughts were on the kid more than the black cloak and one got her in the side before she ended his life. She knelt, holding the wound, a hiss of pain escaping her mouth.

"Aella! Are you alright? I felt pain over the bond!" Deimos asked her, she smiled softly.

"I was hit with a spell, nothing too bad." This didn't comfort the dragon and Aella felt it. She sighed out loud. "I'm fine, dummy. How are the survivors?"

"They're breathing and singing praises to ya. Just call if you need me."

"Roger that. Stay safe."

"You too..."

Faal, Skyfall

Faal twisted his head backwards as he pushed himself out of the alley and out into the open. He closed his eyes concentrating for a second, before slowly and perhaps a little to cautiously scanned the area, it wasn't that bad here and he noticed a few of the black robe's corpses, which gave him a slight but odd comfort. Faal began darting in between the streets, while laying low and avoiding a lot of the attackers, he wasn't exactly a expert in stealth, but it was rather easy when there's a chorus of screams going on it the background, this gave Faal a certain rush, and he would've almost enjoyed it if it wasn't for being in constant danger.

As Faal came into a rather empty street, he heard a whistle. He turned rather slowly as he took a deep gulp, his eyes spotted a female elf and he immediately felt relief, until he realised she had a arrow trained on him "If you're a black cloak, tell me now or I'll stick this arrow somewhere you don't want it." he noticed her aim lower "Who are you and what in the Gods names happened here?", Faal raised his arms and began to formulate a sentence, explaining how he's just an innocent bystander, but was interrupted as several black cloaks appeared, Faal's eyes widened and he quickly went for his staff.

The elf began to fight, as she began dodging and slashing with her blade. Faal backed away, as two viscously approached him, "Let's melt his eyes!" one of them cackled and the other chortled along with surprising vigour, Faal automatically raised his staff and attempted to preform any magic, however nothing happened, the two laughed "Look at this! Aha!" Faal's features contorted before he realized he was holding a rather large staff, he looked at it briefly before swinging it almost comically at the two, they didn't even see it coming, and were knocked to the floor instantaneously, he had knocked one clean out but the other was cursing and getting back up, before this could happen Faal hit him repeatedly with the staff, before shouting "Why won't you die!" fear trembled in his voice as he did so.

Faal heard a hiss of pain and turned around quickly, noticing the elf girl had been wounded in the process of fighting the others. Faal quickly jogged over to her, before holding out his hands in a anxious way, "I'm not a black cloak! I'm just a bystander in this." he paused before looking at her side "Are you alright?" he examined the wound more intently, it wasn't exactly life threatening but it wasn't benign, he looked back up before stating carefully, "I could try to heal you, if you want?" he doubted he could, the only time he preformed real magic was when it was either a surprise or life and death danger.

Aella looked up at the kid before nodding. "I'm fine... I need to keep finding survivors..." she smiled at him before standing up shakily. "I could, however, use someone to help me get around until I can get back to Deimos. You just hold onto my hips and shoulders and let me you all the shooting." she glanced at the bodies and noticed one still moving. She limped over to it and grabbed the moron by the head, yanking it up by his hair. It was the one who hit her with the spell. "You do know, the first rule of playing dead is not moving." she joked, the man coughed out some blood. She noticed that she barely missed his heart. She frowned, she was losing her touch again.

"The True Dragons will prevail, elf!"

"True Dragons..? What is that? A cult?" she muttered before knocking her bow against the guy's head. "Whatever. You tell me what you're here for, now. Or that bow against your head, I'll make it put a arrow through your neck and it won't be clean." she bit out, the nice healer elf gone, replaced with a cruel hunter.

"We are the True Dragons and we are cleansing this city!" the man groaned out, dazed from the bow against his head. Aella swore.

"By killing thousands of people!? You make me sick!" she snarled out, smashing the guy's face on the cobblestone ground and bringing his face back up.

"You are a skilled archer... We could use you in-" the man began but Aella wasn't hearing it. She pulled out an arrow from one of the other bodies and jammed it in the black cloak's eye, twisting it.

"May you burn in the Escale, True Dragon. I would rather face the wrath of my gods than join you." She tugged out the arrow and set it in her quiver again. She pulled the others out and did the same, not bothering with cleaning them, knowing they'd be dirty again.

"Ael! I heard everything the guy said! I'm leading the survivors out of the city now and I'm coming for you!" Deimos told her, she nodded and sighed.

"Alright, Dei, keep them safe. May the Gods watch over your scalely butt." she responded, the dragon snorted.

"May the Gods watch over your pointy ears. See ya." Aella stood up and turned to the kid. "So, you coming?"

City Skyfall

He had gathered what was left of the Assassin's guild to him, only a few remained missing. Raiyn had sent out a couple of the older Assassin's to find Rayma and any of the others. He knew Rayma was in the city, but he didn't know him personally. Raiyn's father had known him better, of course, his father had been the head of the largest guild in Skyfall, and the other guilds had always followed his word. However with the V'lyn house gone, except for himself, he wasn't sure what was going to happen next. The Assassin's around him followed his word, but how long would that last? He wasn't a leader, and he wasn't nearly experienced enough to do much good. That point was proven when he'd tried to attack the leader and almost got himself killed.

"You're sulking," Vy said softly. Raiyn looked up to see the silver dragon hovering over the rooftops about forty feet. He didn't reply, only kept walking. Assassin's don't sulk, Raiyn. You're an Assassin, pull it together.

Raiyn stopped, his eyes narrowing as he looked up at Vy, "Do you not see our city? It's burning!"

"And what are you going to do about it?" Vy's question took him off guard. It took him a moment to answer, but his thoughts began turning towards the man who called himself the 'True Dragon'. His cult was the reason, the whole reason to why Skyfall burned.

"Good, what else, Raiyn? Think." Vy's voice was filled with anticipation, and anger, but it wasn't at the Assassin.

"He said he was cleansing the city..."

"No, think back further."

Then he remembered. The night that he'd first encountered the man. When his father had sent him to see what the two magi were up to. He remembered the old house that had the scent of foul magic, and he remembered what the man said.

"He said that it's already begun. That 'he' was coming," Raiyn looked up to his dragon, he could see the glint of fear in his dragons eye, but there was determination there.

"The cult isn't the real problem. There's something else going on, Raiyn. We have to find out what their true purpose is."

Raiyn turned to the remaining Assassin's that surrounded him. They watched him eagerly, waiting for his orders. They were bloodied, just like him too. He didn't know if the enemy had truly left the city, but he had to send them.

"Find Rayma and the others. I'll meet you all back at the house."

Raiyn turned around and was about to start walking back to the house his father had operated from when a young boy ran right into him. The boy was just tall enough to hit his bad shoulder. He winced, reached up and clutched the wound as he looked at the boy. Bright green eyes and blonde hair filled his vision, his clothing was simple and the boy looked unharmed.

"Are you alright?" Raiyn looked around the smoking street. Reaching out with a bloodied hand he took the boys shoulder and pulled him close, "Follow me and stay close." Raiyn took the boy with him to the house. Once there, he let him go and marched up to the desk that was at the back of the large room. It was ornate, dark cherry wood and embroidered with gold. Along the walls were tall book shelves filled with old books and documents. Most of them were records of the Assassin's guild and contracts. The others were on basic training techniques and so on. The Assassin pulled out a quill and paper and began writing, completely engrossed in getting everything down on the paper so he could send it to the palace in Skyfall.

"The elven lady is here, Raiyn."

He stopped in the middle of his writing, "She is?"

"Her dragon too. They are helping the people escape. A young man is with her as well."

"If you can, get her to come here. The Assassin's will need her help."

City Crystacia

"No, that can't be," the Queen said in hushed tones. Her fragile face was pale from her shock. She stood, the paper in her hands shaking. Her scout knelt before her, out of breath from his haste to get to Crystacia.

"I saw it with my own eyes, my Lady. Skyfall burns! Men in black cloaks nearly destroyed the city!"

"The guilds... what of the guilds?"

"They still live, last I saw. My Lady, if I may..."

"What?"

"There were a lot of black dragons in the sky over the city..."

Queen Fae sucked in her breath. The paper fell from numb fingers. She couldn't believe it. Black dragons? City Laowlee... King D'earl, attacked and nearly destroyed Skyfall!? She was astonished, she couldn't... wouldn't believe it. However, here her scout was, trembling from the sight, his eyes reflecting the truth in his words. She couldn't breath for a moment, just stood there in her white palace at a loss.

"But.. Skyfall is neutral, they never..."

"They do sometimes, my Lady," a different voice called, this one belonging to one of her council men. The three of them sat in smaller chairs next to her throne. She turned slightly to look at the old elf who had spoken. She took a shaking breath, then straightened herself.

"Get me an audience with King D'earl."

City Skyfall

He had finished writing the message when he felt a bump against his leg. Looking down he caught sight of a very beautiful purple dragon bouncing around his boots. The boy who he'd brought into the home called to the dragon. It's name was Sedrik. Raiyn remembered vaguely when Vy was that small, but it didn't last. Within two months, the silver dragon had grown to be the size of a small pony. Three months after that he was nearly full sized, but still considered a baby. Now, several years later, Vy was a full grown dragon and had matured beyond Raiyn.

"Sedrik, the name suits him," Raiyn said as the dragon scurried over to his companion, "I'm Raiyn V'lyn. Skyfall was attacked by a group of magi. I don't know the full details, but I intend to find out their true intentions. Do you have anywhere you can go?"

"If this is something bigger than just a feud between Laowlee and the other cities, he won't have anywhere to go. No place will be safe, Raiyn." Vy said softly. Raiyn could feel his dragons sadness and discomfort. It hit him hard over their connection and he stood there watching the boy trying to ignore his own grief. The Assassin realized that with his father gone, he was now the one in charge of a crippled guild in a city that was defeated. It almost seemed to be too much. Vy, realizing what had happened, reigned in his own emotions, "Keep him with you. Also I was able to speak with the elf's dragon, they should be on their way soon."

Raiyn nodded though he knew his dragon couldn't see him, "Never mind. Stay with me. What's your name?"

***

The Assassin's moved through the city quickly, searching for Rayma. It shouldn't be hard to find him, but he was the top Assassin in the guild, the most skilled out of them all. Mr. V'lyn had put his full trust in the man and Rayma had always gotten the most difficult assignments, all of which he completed perfectly, all the time. With that in mind, the Assassin's moved as quickly as they could, searching every nook and cranny as they went. It was a full city sweep, and it was slow going, especially since most of the guild had been wiped out.

While they searched, one of the men found a young girl kneeling in the street. Several black cloaked men lying on the ground around her. She looked out of sorts, dazed and unsure. The Assassin knelt next to her, put his gloved hand on her shoulder and got her to look at him. The girl looked tired and possibly a little scared. He tried to get her to stand, but when that failed he pulled her against his chest and lifted her easily.

"I'll take her back to V'lyn," and off he went, the other Assassin he had been with only nodding.

Sage By'rill

The forest was calm and quiet. The smells of the trees, the earth and the wind filled her senses. It was peaceful and she was reveling in it. The peace in the forest was a great contrast against the agitation Rin was feeling. However, with Sage's body and mind filled with the calm of the trees around her, Rin had calmed slightly as well. Her blue dragon was circling lazily in the sky above the forest because there was no where for her to go. The trees were too tight for her to walk in without destroying anything or getting her wings stuck.

"I think you're getting close," Rin said. Sage looked up through the canopy, just barely able to see through the leaves to the sky that was slowly growing darker. The elf hoped that she would reach Gwindor's place before the forest was pitch black. Not that she minded the darkness, but the quicker the better. She picked up her pace and moved silently through the trees. It was a little while after when she picked up the smell of something cooking. She started towards it, hoping that she was about to stumble upon the older elf rather than any bandits in the forests.

"Sometimes you have an interesting way of thinking, Sage."

The elf smiled at her dragons words. She raised her eyes upwards for a moment before looking back at where she was going. She was moving at a half run, leaping over fallen logs and dodging bushes. Sage was completely silent in her advance, and soon she was upon a small area where a small home had been made and the smells of the food were much stronger. She cautiously moved into the area, her eyes watching the piece of cloth that flapped gently in the wind. After a moment, Sage stood at her full height (which wasn't very tall) and called out.

"Elder Gwindor? Are you here?"

Faal, Skyfall

The woman looked up before nodding, "I'm fine... I need to keep finding survivors..." she smiled, which gave Faal slight comfort she then pushed herself up. Faal examined the scene before regarding curiously, "It looks like they're retreating. Perhaps the attack is over..?" he shook his head before, focusing back on the elf "I could, however, use someone to help me get around until I can get back to Deimos. You just hold onto my hips and shoulders and let me you all the shooting." Faal nodded warming up to the idea, "I could do that." a grin spread over his lips, happy to be of use.

The elf then walked over to one of the corpses, Faal's eyes twitched 'did that just move?' he then noticed the supposed corpse was still alive, he jumped at the sudden revelation, the elf walked over yanking his head up before taunting him "You do know, the first rule of playing dead is not moving." The man responded by coughing up blood. Faal knew instinctively that the elf was going to kill the black cloak, he looked down sadly but he knew it had to be done, if they didn't he'd just run off to join his merry band of cultists again. Faal turned around, taking a few steps forward not wanting to witness the scene, he heard however the black cloak yell aloud proudly "The True Dragons will prevail, elf!" which made Faal look down in apparent disgust.

Faal paused before trying to contact Sweeper mentally, 'You alright, buddy..? You there?' he heard a roar, before a slight twinge of death and then Sweeper's nonchalant, dry voice 'Yup, I'm fine. Just cleared a small exit, a couple of people fled.' Faal let out a sigh of relief, he looked down before thinking casually 'Catch up when you can, I think I'll take you up on that flying offer.' Sweeper adopted a patriotic 'Yes Sir!' before he felt his presence leave, he smiled happily everything was alright for the moment.

Faal turned around looking at the corpse, while the elf simply said "May you burn in the Escale, True Dragon. I would rather face the wrath of my gods than join you." Faal winced slightly as she yanked the two arrows out, putting them back in her quiver, he lowered his head as a sign of respect for the dead, before looking back up. The elf then stood up and turned towards Faal "So, you coming?" Faal paused before nodding vaguely, he looked up happily "I've got a ride coming too." he arched a eyebrow curiously enquiring if she had a way out of here also he did this rather indirectly of course but he was sure she'd understand what he meant, he was reluctant to abandon someone in this type of mess after all.

Aella noticed the kid was looking up and she followed. Deimos was flying down, roaring. She rolled her eyes at her dragon's silliness. The dragon landed in front of her and butted his head against her shoulder, wrapping his body around her. He let out a purring breath.

"Ael! I was friggin worried!" the dragon roared out while Aella laughed. She ran a hand over his cheek and smiled. "Oh! By the way! That warrior you healed called for you, apparently he's a big deal around here... His dragon is huge and silver and stuff... The kid's an assassin and his dad ran the guild... I wondered where I heard his name before..." That had Aella blinking. 'He needed to see her? He was an assassin? It explained all the little daggers...' She shrugged and gingerly got on Deimos' back. Her side didn't hurt as bad but it did when she moved too much.

"Alright, kid. This is how it's gonna work. You and your ride follow Deimos back to a guy we know. There'll we'll introduce each other and get past all the nice pleasantries. And we'll figure out what's going on, got it?" Without waiting for an answer, Deimos took to the skies. She flipped her hood up as Deimos maneuvered around the remaining dragons. She knew that Deimos was sure of where he was going. Or she hoped.

"I do! The silver dragon told me exactly where the other kid was! It's some building over here!" Deimos exclaimed, his wings beating at a even pace. She changed her bow for her staff and got back into healer mode.

"Sure, sure. Just get us there." Deimos huffed and landed in front of a house. Aella hopped off and grabbed her side again. Deimos nuzzled the other one. She frowned at the dragon.

"Moron..." he muttered, using his actual voice, harsh from disuse. She shook her head and walked in, not bothering with knocking. Deimos followed behind her, his tail lashing at anyone who looked at the healer longer than 3 seconds, which was often. She walked to an assassin and cleared her throat.

"Excuse us, but I'm looking for Raiyn V'lyn. He sent for me but he merely told me the location, not which room." The assassin blinked a couple times before pointing to a desk where people were at. There was a small purple dragon and a blond boy. She wanted to coo at the boy but focused. She walked over and tapped on Raiyn's shoulder. "It's only been a few hours and you're already looking for me again?" she teased before getting serious. "You called for me? Your dragon contacted mine. Does someone need healing, cause that's all I'm really good for..."

Raiyn dripped red wax onto the paper, reached into his fathers desk and pulled out a stamp with the Assassin's mark on it. He stamped the hot wax, brought it to his lips and blew to cool it off. He reached carefully, feeling his wounds pulling. With the adrenaline rush from the fighting gone his muscles were tight and the cuts deeper than what he'd thought.

"Take this to the palace, the viscount needs to send word of this to Crystacia, Ro'ell and Laowlee."

The Assassin took the paper, bowed to Raiyn and left quickly. As he did so, a tap on his shoulder made him wince slightly, but the voice was unmistakable, "It's only been a few hours and you're already looking for me again?"

Raiyn looked up at Aella as she stood over him, a small smile lifting his lips. Her voice turned professional as she asked if anyone needed healing. He went to stand, but pushing up off the table proved to be much more painful than he thought and he dropped back down in the chair, his side burning, as well as his shoulder and chest. He'd managed to clean up the blood from his side, but he was sure it had started again. He motioned with his good hand out to the several Assassin's who had returned, most in worse shape than himself.

"My men do," he replied softly. He didn't want to tell her he'd undid her handy work on him.

"Afraid of her?" Vy asked, a teasing tone in his voice, "My Assassin is a afraid of an elf."

"Be quiet Vy," Raiyn replied, a frown on his face and his eyes narrowing as he looked up at his ceiling knowing that the large silver dragon was up above them. He turned back to Aella. He offered her a smile and stood again, much more carefully than the first time, "Use whatever you need," he told her. It was only when he'd stood to turn and look at her directly that he noticed the blood on her robes. Raiyn's gaze dropped to her side, the cloth ripped and beneath a shallow wound grazing her side just above her hip. The Assassin reached out, lifting her arm and turning her so he could see the wound better.

He gently pushed the cloth aside to look at the cut, then lifted his gaze to her, "You should treat yourself first," he motioned for one of the Assassin's to his side, "Take her to the next room, fresh cloths and let her treat herself before she treats anyone," The man nodded and offered his hand to Aella. Raiyn put her hand in the Assassin's and turned her gently so that she could be led out.

Aella scowled at Raiyn. "You reopened your wounds. If you want me to heal the rest of your men, you come see me later. Or so Gods help me I will hunt you down. I mean it." Then she felt him lift her arm and look at the cut on her robe. She never noticed that it was sliced open. She swore and muttered about sewing it up.

When he touched her wound and told her to heal herself first, she shook her head. "First rule of a healer, others before yourself. You should know that..." When her hand touched Raiyn's, there was a small spark. She blinked before her hand was transferred to another Assassin and her body was turned. Deimos huffed at the Assassin leader while his healer was led out. He merely stood at the door while Aella entered the room. He was her guard right now, along with her dragon.

Once in the room, she looked around then turned to the Assassin. "Alright, you're my helper around here seeing as how I don't know where anything is." She told him. The Assassin nodded. "Good! Now, I need some cots, cloth, lots of water, bandages and clothes for the injured. Do not, I repeat, do not worry about me until everyone is healed." The Assassin looked a bit skeptical about that but she leveled him with a glare that scared even demons.

"Ael... If you need my energy, tell me" Deimos told her. She nodded as the door opened, letting in cots and everything else she ordered.

"Thanks, Dei..." She showed them how to set everything up before she allowed the first of her new patients entered. She took off her outer robes, leaving her in her sleeveless dress. "Alright, get the worse away from the door. I'll work my way that way." The uninjured or the better looking ones helped the near death ones. She sighed and started on the worse, a young Assassin whose arm was nearly gone. Aella began pushing magic into him, ignoring the nicks that started on her arms.

Raiyn winced inwardly as she threatened him, and he tried hard not to smile at her. For some reason her angry expression didn't scare him all that much, in fact it was quite the opposite, she was prettier with the angry look. The Assassin took her gently and led her away and he sat down with a sigh.

"Fiery isn't she? How do you know her?" One of the men asked softly.

"Just met her," Raiyn replied rubbing absently at his shoulder.

"Well, you better go see her before she tears this house apart."

"Better be careful, she might just tear you apart before she heals you," Vy said.

Raiyn rolled his eyes at both his Assassin and the dragon. A little while later, after he had started discussing what he planned to do, another of his Assassin's came into the room carrying a young girl. Raiyn stood quickly and went to the two. He inspected the girl to see if she was injured, but it only seemed like she was dazed.

"Where did you find her?"

"In the street, she was surrounded by the cultists. She must be a magi, there wasn't a scratch on her but they were all dead."

Raiyn raised an eyebrow as he listened. He nodded and motioned for the Assassin to follow him. He went to the room where Aella was. Turning around, he took the girl in his arms and gently laid her in one of the cots that was set up. Several of his men had bandages on them, and he looked for the elf that worked to heal them. He found her wrapping linen around one man's arm. He noted that her cut hadn't been treated. Might as well face the wrath, he thought, a small smile on his face.

"Oh yes, because the very tiny elf terrifies you."

"Would you..."

Vy's dry laughter filled his mind, the dragon was certainty having fun, "Forgive me, Raiyn, but I've never seen you act quite like this with a woman before. Sure you treat them all very highly, but to this young one, it seems you almost want her attention no matter what."

Raiyn glared at the ceiling, he shook his head and ignored the silver dragons comment. He moved to stand near the elf waiting for her to finish. He would have her finish healing his men, then he would see to it that she healed herself before he allowed her to heal him. Raiyn crossed his arms over his chest, watching her work.

City Vaye

"The more we kill, the more life is brought to him," his voice was hoarse as he spoke to the black cloaked men around him. He raised his arms, the city of Vaye right behind him. "It is a cleansing, us, the True Dragon's will be given our rightful place along side our rightful King."

The men were silent, anticipation in the air. He turned to face the city gates. His arms slowly came back down to his side, "Bring our King to life."

The mass of black cloaked men disappeared, magic releasing into the air like a toxin. It made the wind heavy, the air taste different as it was taken into the lungs. All went into the city except for him. His metal clad hand twisted with the other, a smile on his pale face. Not long after, the screams started in the city, and the first of several fires erupted, causing the sky to turn black with smoke.

"Thane," a feminine voice called him. He turned to it. The woman stood with one hand on her hip, her long black hair twisted over one shoulder.

"What is it now?"

"You're called back to Laowlee, the King wishes to see you. Queen Fae is there as well."

Thane smiled, baring crooked teeth, "Well then, let the games begin."

Aella finished with the worse of the man's wounds before she wrapped the rest. She had finished all the men. Most were asleep, seeing as she talked to them with a gentle voice. She was drained and tired, but happy. She'd done her job well. Now she needed to see Raiyn, the stubborn Assassin. Deimos purred in her mind, making her look up.

"There's two more coming in, Ael! Raiyn and some girl!" he called, making her nod as she wiped sweat off her brow. She turned to face Raiyn. The Assassin seemed to be waiting for her. How sweet of him.

"Yes, because he yearns for your attentions!" Deimos said, sarcasm lacing his voice. She merely huffed. Her cuts on her arms tingled, the larger ones bleeding. She quickly wrapped them to stop the bleeding.

"Ah, so you did decide that I should heal you... I'm honored... Deimos said there was one more... No matter. Quickly, lay down. And no, you and the girl first, then myself. I will strap you to the bed if needed. Deimos will help me...." She could tell the boy wanted her to heal herself. They were always like that. She leveled him with her 'Argue with me and I will make this painful' glare. Deimos snorted at both him helping and her glare.

"Because you're soooo scary..." Aella rolled her eyes at the dragon. The silly thing had a good sense of humor but she was usually the butt of his jokes

"Of course! I can mess you up then heal you. What's not to fear? I'm very scary..." the dragon began laughing out loud, waking most of the patients. She sighed and pushed magic into her voice. "Everyone go back to sleep... My dragon was just laughing... Relax, I will not let you get harmed again... It's my job..." Most listened and fell back into the Void of Dreams. She then turned to Raiyn, eyebrow raised, her eyes a mix of purple, green and brown.

Raiyn watched her with an amused look on his face. Her threat to tie him down was... intriguing, if nothing else. He kept his arms crossed over his chest and didn't move. He would win out, he was patient. When she didn't move either, her eyes slowly narrowing into beautiful colored slits, his smile grew.

"I would be careful, Raiyn. She might just re-open your wounds completely just for spite," Vy said.

Raiyn looked down at her arms that she too crossed over her chest. They were wrapped in white cloth, little spots of red slowly peering through. This made him frown. "When she heals she takes some of the injury?"

"It's not uncommon, Raiyn. A lot of healers have some sort of price to pay for their magic. Nothing is ever free. Even the most powerful magic user will run out of energy or kill themselves if they aren't careful."

"Good to know they aren't invincible."

"The girl isn't injured, just worn out it seems," he said softly, "needle and thread will do just fine for my wounds, but only after you've taken care of yourself," he leaned forward, closing the distance between them and watching her pretty face turn pink, "Can't heal anyone if your not fit, now can you?" He asked even softer, his voice barely a whisper. He hovered there for a while longer than straightened again. Raiyn didn't move after that, only waited for her to take care of her own injuries.

"You really are a charmer arn't you?"

"I'm going to ignore that, Vy."

The dragon laughed, "Well, before she kills you, what is your next move, aside from gathering information around Skyfall?"

"We go to Laowlee. King D'earl will be our first stop. I hope to get Rayma to come with us."

"Why do you want the outcast?"

"So I can learn more."

"But you've learned the ways of the Assassin, you've been doing it for years, you are no novice."

"Did you not see the fight with that magi? Twice he nearly killed me. What happens next we meet?"

"I won't let it happen," Vy growled.

"Neither will I, hence the need for Rayma."

"Drake, Drake Temple. What's yours?" Before Drake could get his answer a small elf girl walked in accompanied by a small bronze dragon. She tapped Raiyn's shoulder and they talked but it wasn't interesting to Drake. Sedrik started climbing up Drake's leg and up his back then on to his shoulder. Who do you suppose that is? Drake asked. I have no idea but that man sees to really be into her

The girl left the room and one of the assassins brought in another unconscious girl. Raiyn left with them and Drake looked around the room. He walked up to the desk and picked up the candle with the wax. Sedrik moved a little on his shoulder, tickling him, and making him drop the candle spilling some wax on the desk. "Oh...uh..." Drake hurriedly left the room.

Smooth move. Drake pushed Sedrik off his shoulder forcing him to flap wildly to stay in the air and return to his shoulder. Drake kept walking around until he found Raiyn and the assasin with the girl walk into what was being used for the infirmary. Walking to the door he entered the room and hung around the back listening to their weird conversations.

Never been to the big city i'm guessing?

Never, its kind of...confusing. Who is that girl that they carried in and what is a magi? Sedrik moved on top of Drake's head, apparently bored. How should i know? Now take me outside pirate, you promised! Sedrik nipped at Drake's ears making him flinched

I did no such thing! Maybe later. Drake slowly walked up to Raiyn and the girl. "Hi, my name is Drake, I was wondering if there was anything i could help with?" Introduce me. Sedrik nipped at Drakes ears again. "Ow! Don't make me hurt you, you little runt." Then introduce me! Sedrik whined in Drake's head, nipping at his ear and making him flinch for a third time. "...and this is Sedrik." The little dragon puffed out its chest and tried to look as impressive as possible.

Aella's glare did nothing to the Assassin and she sighed. "Fine... You leave me with no choice... Sorry in advance..." She waved her hand and the clean water in the room tied Raiyn to the cot. The water flowed around him, like a bubble, soaking him from head to toe. "I wasn't kidding..." Then she spotted the little blond and the purple hatching and cooed at him. "Aren't you two cute... I'm Aella, a healer and you can help me. See the girl in the cot? Can you go see if she's awake or asleep while I tend to Mr. Stubborn here?" Then she turned to the wet Assassin on the cot and snorted. "And, you... You just look ridiculous..." She told him before pumping magic into the water. Deimos walked in and laughed at the Assassin.

"And you thought she was joking..." the dragon told the boy before nuzzling Aella's hair. "You need my help, Ael?"

"In a bit when I go to rouse the girl, if she's asleep and heal myself... Then I will need a good bath and new robes... You can get me those, yes?" she asked the boy, knowing he couldn't answer until she removed the water, which was breathable. The water removed his shirt and all that jazz so she could remove the bandages. Once those were gone, she rubbed her fingers over the wounds, keeping all the blood away from her view and Raiyn's face. As she rubbed, they healed right up, any infection gone with them. She drew her hands away and made the water go back into the pans, the bloodied going into a separate one than the cleaner.

"All done..." Deimos told the Assassin, still chuckling over his healer's water stunt. He pushed magic to her and she relaxed against him. Their dynamic was interesting.

"You stole the words out of my mouth, Dei!" she chirped before looking at Raiyn. "Now, can I have that room..? I wish to heal in private, seeing as how I must wrap the wounds myself and that would mean disrobing. Unless you'd like for me to disrobe here..?" she joked, a delicate eyebrow raised. Deimos gasped.

"What a pervert..." he muttered as if whispering in Aella's ear to gossip.

Raiyn sat up, drenched in water and his shirt gone. He frowned at her, but even as he glared, he couldn't bring himself to be angry at her. It didn't even matter that she'd used magic to take him down, something he was not very fond of.

"That's the second time she's taken your shirt off, she must like it. I wonder what would be next?"

"Vy!" He called, yelling both in his mind and out loud. He sent his glare upwards, hearing the dragon laugh.

"Oh don't pretend to be angry at me."

"I haven't even begun to get angry with you," Raiyn replied coldly. He stood slowly, his eyes dropping to take a look at his wounds. They had closed completely and she was leaning against her dragon heavily. Raiyn ignored the last part of her words, instead he gently took her and led her towards the door at the right of the room.

"Go heal, and afterwards, I would like to speak with you," he said gently. He let her go into the room and shut the door. The Assassin rubbed his hands through his drenched hair and shook the water free. He turned to the bed that was near the door. It was where he had laid the girl down earlier. Drake stood next to the bed, so the Assassin put his hand on the boys shoulder.

"She's fine. Come with me, Drake, Sedrik too."

"What are you doing, Raiyn?" Vy asked.

"If he's to come with me, I need to know if he can fight."

There was sarcasm in Vy's words as he spoke again, "You get one scratch on you and I'm not saving you."

Raiyn smiled as he walked to where Aella had her magic toss his shirt off. Gathering the materials he started putting it on, continuing to leave the room as he did. Once they were away from the others and in an opened area of the house, Raiyn picked up two of the long knives that were on the table. They were the same ones he had had when he'd fought the magi the night before. He turned to Drake.

"I see you've a sword. Show me what you can do with it."

See the girl in the cot? Can you go see if she's awake or asleep while I tend to Mr. Stubborn here?" Aella had asked. Drake nodded and walked over to the cot, looking down at the girl. She seemed fine but was sleeping soundly. Drake turned to see Raiyn. "She's fine. Come with me, Drake, Sedrik too." "Um alright"

Drake followed Raiyn. Ooh someone is in trouble taunted Sedrik. Shut up, runt Drake chuckled at the little dragon. Sure he was a nuisance but he was Drake's nuisance. Drake scratched the small dragon's chin like a cat.

Raiyn led the boy and the dragon to an open area of the house. "I see you've a sword. Show me what you can do with it." "Alright..." Drake unsheathed the cutlass and lunged.

I didnt know you knew how to sword fight.

I spent my entire life with pirates, I was bound to learn some time

Raiyn parried, obviously much more skilled than Drake but drake took a few more swings before doing the very pirate thing and pulling out his flintlock and aiming it straight at Raiyn's head. He said the sword, no guns! Sedrik nipped at his ear. Yes sir! Drake mocked back at the tiny dragon. "I'm sorry, it's an old habbit..."

Aella giggled as she was led from Deimos and into a room. Then she began to undress, gingerly of course. She wrapped the wound on her side and sighed. Her magic was rebelling greatly after using so much of it. She sat there, in only her leggings before she began sewing the hole in her dress. It took a bit but she finished it. Sliding the silky thin garment on, she opened the door and walked back into the makeshift clinic.

Assassins hung around as if waiting for orders. She smiled at them. "Good job... You were a great help to me... Go rest... Everyone needs it..." They relaxed and left, leaving Aella with the injured. She was in her element.

"Ael... You need rest... You are like a sister to me and you will not die from something so plebeian like exhaustion!" Deimos ordered and pushed the girl into an open cot. She sighed and sat on it. The dragon huffed at her.

"Alright, alright... Sorry to make you worry like that... And I won't die that easy, scaly" she said, Deimos' head on her lap. She hummed a song under her breath as she pet Deimos. Both dragon and elf relaxed together. Sure there was a huge war and probably more but they had each other. The dragon joined in the humming and the two were in sync, in harmony.

Many of the patients and Assassins listened, a sense of calm washing over the house. She felt her eyes turn again, a warm brown. Noticing their audience, she smiled. "Sorry, everyone... Back to work or sleep for some of you." they groaned and did as they were told. Deimos laughed and trotted out of the house and looked around. There were still people and dragons out there and there was no place, no room more like it, for him.

Flying to the roof, Deimos spotted the silver dragon who he had talked to. He lighted near him and purred in relief. "Silence... Pure silence..." he muttered softly.

Aella had rested a bit when she felt a hand on her shoulder. She opened her eyes to see an Assassin looking down at her. She rubbed at her eyes and sat up. "W-wha..?" When had she fallen asleep..?

"Lady Aella, the leader needs to speak with you, remember?" she blinked a bit before nodding, getting off the cot. She stretched and yawned. The bones in her back popping as she bent and squirmed.

"Deimos..?"

"Yes, my elf?"

"Just making sure I'm safe..." she muttered before moving to the room she saw Raiyn walk in to.

"You are, my friend... Though I fear not for long..."

"Raiyn? You needed to see me..?" she murmured, still rubbing sleep from her eyes. Her overly large sleeve covered her hands, which were glove free at the moment. "Sorry, I dozed off... I didn't really mean to but I guess using up all that magic didn't make anything better for me... And I spent most of last night tending to you..." She flipped her hood back down and tied back her long hair. "Not your fault or anything... I mean I healed you cause you were hurt and some stuff..." she rambled

"Aella? She's... Well, she's stubborn..." Deimos began to tell the larger dragon, shifting his own wings closer, to keep the cold at bay. "She's bubbly and happy when she needs to be but can get serious real quick." he chuckled. "She's passionate about people and helping them and hates anyone who hurts another. She really wants to stay out of this war but still heal people... She hates swords for a damn good reason but she seems to..." he trailed off here.

"So, your Assassin... Do tell me about him since I split about Aella..."
