Full Name:
Xinder Ouquid

Nicknames/Aliases:
X, Xin, Quid, Scar, TankFace, Four-Eyes

Age:
Mind: 2053 Years
Body: 6 Months Since Release from the Tube

Gender:
Male

Species:
Original: Human
Current: Alphadine Warflesh Model 3-R

Original Canon:

In the distant future of 5051 man has found out how to transcend a single body. While any particular mind can only handle one body at a time, the bodies can be set up in such a way that when the user dies they go to said body. This was in combination with the discovery of matter printers. Humans now hold the power to create anything they want as long as the have enough matter.

Even with this new found ability to have anything they wanted, man still found reasons to wage war. The corporations that once provided basic goods died with weapons manufactures and other tech companies taking rise with proprietary tech that simply couldn't be produced when you didn't know the plans to make it form. This and raw space soon became man's items of value.

Seeking to expand their influence, the governments formed to server the Corporations' will fought for nearly every livable planet they could, and even some that weren't. However, land wasn't the only thing that these governments would fight for. Technology brought in a new age of espionage and warfare as armies would clash over new firing systems, vehicle engines, spaceship tech, or armor systems.

The most recent battle was over the planet PI-5513. The war being waged was between the local government, Alphadine Systems Inc., and Mad Catz, with millions of soldiers being sent in to destroy the others every day. As of the last known state of PI-5513, it was at a point where Alphadine was pushing the Mad Catz outpost border.

Description:

Xin's armor matches the picture above, excepting that it also bears the Alphadine logo on the chest. Without his armor, Xin is a pale white humaniod figure with two silver eyes, a crumpled nose, ear-slots, a mouth, and no hair. His body's build is like that of larger athlete, standing in at 6 and a half feet tall that is covered in pure muscle. The skin of this body is also in near perfect condition not yet having had time to develop scars and shows no signs of aging beyond 20 years of age.

Personality:

2000 years of killing and dying has not done well for Xin's psyche. While most people would feel guilt for everything done over these 2000 years, Xin couldn't care less. His cold exterior reflects his views of what people truly are. To Xin, it is only the mind that is important and the rest of a person is an expendable tool worthy only to fulfill a purpose and die. Even when someone is bound to only a single body, Xin has no qualms about killing them if it furthers his goals.

His coldness is further increased by his seeming inability to get angry, which leads to his constant methodicalness. That isn't to say that Xin can't be brought to rage, but unless you know his triggers it can seem like an impossible feat. The triggers include: Certain battles that just piss Xin off, his father's drunk ass, 3 specific COs that Xin has killed multiple times each, and the fact that his current body lacks procreative organs.

When he is angered, Xin can take days to simmer down if he doesn't take his anger out on something living. During this time he will gladly strangle anyone who doesn't agree with him and/or just shoot what is pissing him off. Angry Xin also enjoys napalm and the joys that come from dumping it over populated areas.

Skills/Powers:

  • Alphadine Warflesh Model 3-R - The Warflesh series of shells was designed to do one thing, wage war. Made with no other intents than to kill and survive the Model 3 is the most used model in production and offers exceptional strength and endurance as well as a strong immune system and poison resistance. The Version R is the recon version and offers a maintainable run at 11 miles per hour and can sprint at 25 miles per hour for 2 minutes straight while carrying a 200 pound load. The recon model can also operate on half the food and air of a normal human and has a second heart.
  • Alphadine Bolt Rifle AR-53R - The recon version of the standard Bolt Rifle AR-53, the 53R is capable of alternating between physical and plasma bolts and maintaining a fully-automatic fire rate of 150 rounds per minute. The rifle operates off of an internal Raw Mass supply that is good for 500 rounds and takes 12 seconds to refuel from the suits internal supply. The weapon aims with a Smart Sights system that can reform between iron sight, 2x-4x holographic sight, and a 6x-12x scope.
  • Alphadine Side Slugger Pistol P-12 - About the size of a M-1911, the P-12 offers the ability to be quickly drawn and fired. Operating at up to 300 rounds per minute of sustained fire, the P-12 only holds 100 rounds of fire and takes 6 seconds to refill the internal Raw Mass supply. It only fires solid slugs and has a range of 200 yards.
  • CZek Corporation Plasma Knife Model 7 - The Model 7 plasma knife, when inactivate, is little more than a hilt with Raw Mass in it. Once activated, a blade of thermal plasma forms, from 6 inches to 4 feet at the users discretion, and can remain active for an hour before needing a 4 second recharge of Raw Matter.
  • Hand-Forged Combat Knife - Made because of the idea that "You should always have a knife that doesn't run out of ammo," this combat knife is formed of a light-weight, but durable, titanium alloy and is sharp enough to slice a single hair. It is a 8 inch blade.
  • Alphadine Recon Armor 8 - The RA-8 armor system is made up of basic ballistic fiber surrounding a non-physical barriers system. It also offers a Raw Matter storage of up to 100 pounds and the ability to reconstruct air. It offers protection against thermal energy below 3000 degrees, lack of and hostile atmospheres, physical strikes, and allows the suit to be submerged up to 300 feet deep. Holding off thermal energy exceeding 150 degrees Ferlinghetti or physical strikes faster than a punch burns away at the internal fuel supply.
  • 4-Eyes' Helmet - His most well known namesake, Xin made this helmet himself. It offers basic ballistic protection when the barriers run out of power, is sealed and connects to his armor's air supply, allows for the use of thermal, low-light, and normal vision, and includes a basic motion tracker that detects any motion within 30 feet provided that no physical objects between the helmet and object in question. It also has a full comms suit with a broadcast range of 500 miles.
  • Mobile Matter Printer - A mobile matter print that expands to a 4 foot cube, it is capable of constructing (give the proper blueprints) or deconstructing (directly into pure mass) any object of lesser size . The printer can't record new blueprints. It can process 30 pounds of matter every minute. It can recharge any item with Raw Mass. When in storage mode it becomes a 3 inch cube.
  • 2000 Year Soldier - Xin has been fighting since the day he was born. Space-ship fuel. Organic medicines. Technology. Living space. Xin has fought for it all in his lifetime. He is more than capable with his knife and pistol, but his rifle is his main area of focus.
  • 1000 Year Engineer - Having learned engineering after having enough of others not being able to upkeep his equipment, Xin is now more than capable of rebuilding and repairing any piece of equipment that he brings to the field. He is also familiar with working on vehicles and computers.

Weaknesses:

  • Maintenance Cycles - As amazing as Xin's technology is, it is not infallible. When just operating normally it requires at least an hour a day of maintenance. While this can be skipped for a few days, when it is the tech will become increasingly unreliable until it breaks. Xin has to be out of his armor while maintaining everything.
  • Hungry Machines - While all of his equipment runs off of Raw Mass and he is able to produce mass, when the mass runs out only two items operate fully. His hand-forged knife and the matter printer.
  • Trans Tech Recklessness - Xin is used to being able to die without any serious repercussions. This leads him to occasionally try tactics and fights that he knows will kill him, as he forgets that he only has one body here occasionally.
  • Poor Survivalist - When unable to operate his matter printer, Xin is unfamiliar with gathering food, water, and medicine.
  • Fight Lightning With Lightning - While the armor's barriers can last a good while, electricity drains the shields faster than other types of damage and can increase the speed at which they decay.

Brief History:

P-2022 was a fairly quiet place, being the homeworld of Alphadine. This is where Xin was born the child of an executive with a drinking problem and an assembler with no respect for herself. Neither of them was expecting the ball of will and stubbornness of Xin, which was strong enough that he was six he refused to leg go of a toy despite his father beating him for nearly 3 hours straight. His family life was about as much fun as walking through a rose bush and his hate of his parents quickly showed of it.

When he grew to be 16, Xin quickly signed up to join the Alphadine military. On his first day they gave him a body that precursored the Warflesh series and a pistol to practice with. Seeing the opportunity, Xin returned home and shot both of his parents before killing both of their backups as well. After he was done at his house, Xin went to the bar with his training squad, returning back to the barracks when they were sufficiently drunk.

Xin quickly showed great potential in the military. He followed every order without any other question than "Is there a more efficient way to do this?" After 50 years of service he was entered into the Space Marines Division, raiding enemy ships for nearly 600 years. When Alphadine needed more heads in the recon division, he was one of the first to be chosen.

Being the tip of the spear excited Xin. The first on a planet, breaking the great walls before they had little more than a ship and a few basic backups. His normal strategy during attacks was to get behind the enemy and cause chaos behind their line before sneaking off to another point and causing more chaos. This tactic won thousands of battles over the past 1500 or so years, cementing Xin's place as the leader of Recon Division ground operations of whatever planet he happened to be on.

So begins...

Xin had been focused on the flaming girl when suddenly some voice that sounded like lightning with words hit his ears like a cannon. Turning to the origin of the sound all that he saw was the bronze colored lizard man with sparks jumping all around his head and mouth. Then something Xin didn't believe could happen did. A perfect bolt of lightning flew from the damn thing's mouth.

Electricity just didn't work like that. It just didn't. It jumped in arks. It followed paths of least resistance. It spread to other things. That was why plasma and slugs were so popular when electricity itself was the best counter to barriers was because they could be controlled and electricity always found a way to disobey.

What was even more surprising was that the landing zone of the bolt didn't just heat up. It fucking exploded. No. No way. There was no water there. Nothing to expand with enough force to do that. When the dust started to settle, Xin spotted singeing along the crater and what looked like some flash formed glass.

Okay, the lizard/dragon man gained some respect. Xin may not have heard what exactly he was shouting about, but a display like that was impressive. Perhaps it was a simpler mind dumped into a body from a place even more advanced than Alphadine, or perhaps it was some natural thing that a whole species adapted. Whatever it was, it was damned impressive. And threatening.

Mixing force and electricity might actually be able to over-power Xin's barriers. While this marked the lizard as a valuable ally, it also made him the priority target of Xin. If that thing were to ever try that with Xin, it would quickly find a fresh bullet right between the eyes.

Upon seeing that Eze was too preoccupied to notice the gesture, Madison pulled his hand back, folding it neatly against his chest before letting it fall to his side. It seemed that the being was happy, at least, draining the bucket as if it contained the nectar of the gods. And, as far as the researcher was concerned, a happy stranger was a peaceful stranger- and a stranger far more willing to establish familiarity. He paused, dusting off his sleeves, and then turned away to better take into view the youth from earlier, who had now hid himself under the umbrella with obvious gratitude.

ā€œIt’s no problem, really. With how hot it is in the shade, I can only imagine how it must feel out there.ā€ Madison then smiled brightly at the other- although his expression once again shifted upon seeing the man’s hand suddenly fly from his wrist, wrap about the handles of his bag, and drag it back.

Madison blinked. Then blinked again. Then again, for good measure. After the third and final blink, he gave a small shrug, instead glancing back over to his own bag as if suddenly reminded that it existed. Considering his company- especially with the revelation of them all coming from different worlds- he supposed it wouldn’t hurt to take a look. Dropping gracefully to the floor, Madison opened up the metal teeth and began to rummage inside. There was a sun hat and a pair of sunglasses within (which, to his delight, went wonderfully with his current outfit), various other pieces from his wardrobe, and even the notepad he had thought missing. After putting on both hat and glasses, and tucking his pocketbook back into his pocket, Madison resumed his search, intrigued by the contents lying inside the carry-on.

Beneath the neatly folded clothes, and beneath the small makeup kit that had been nestled up to the fabrics, were more...useful (not that what he had discovered earlier wasn’t useful, of course) contents, to say the least. A rifle was tucked neatly at the bottom of the bag, along with a basic handgun, and a pair of knives. While Madison was curious to explore more of his little weapons’ stash in the way that the others had, he thought better of it, instead turning to the rest.

Other than the same weapons-care items and customary bullets his coworker had, there was little difference between his pack and the basic items of the others- although there was no food or water whatsoever. Instead, his collection of medical items contained a basic blood transfusion kit, and a few plastic containers to go along with it.

Well, that was certainly thoughtful of their captor to include.

Suddenly, a girl’s voice rose above the clamor, calling out that she had found an exit. Intrigued, Madison looked up, only to find that the way out she was gesturing at had been closed off. And, in addition, there appeared to be...spiders? outside. From where he sat, he could see the creatures clawing at the metal, hissing at those who lay within and attempting to slide their fangs through the gaps.

While the girl certainly hadn’t lied, it seemed that, at the moment, any way of leaving was blocked off. Frowning at the thought, Madison decided to turn his attentions onto something more positive- such as the youth who had joined them. He was clearly uncertain about his origins, hinting at amnesia, but Madison continued to smile placidly at the other- Oliver, or so he had said.

ā€œThat’s fine, Oliver; you’ve still helped with what you’re able to remember. Thank you.ā€ A short nod, sending what hair was left uncovered by the hat swaying lightly with the movement.

While Madison had been far more lax about the prospect of an escape, Stride had already begun to make her way over to the iron gate, having heard both the shouts and whirring of metal from where she had been standing. However, before she had even reached half the distance between her ā€œstarting pointā€ and the gate, it had shut- with what visible land that could have been seen from through the bars quickly being hidden from sight by...lava?

ā€œWell,ā€ Stride suddenly drawled, gaze shifting to the one who had cried out that she had found an escape. ā€œThat’s a real interestin’ way of gettin’ out you were thinkin’ of, but, y’know, not all of us can swim through lava, kid.ā€ Before she could even get a proper reaction to her words, however, the situation had suddenly taken a rather interesting turn. The Kora-doppleganger had suddenly started shouting at one of the younger-looking strangers gathered, calling him a terrorist, and- from the looks of it- preparing to fight. The kid didn’t look exactly happy about the redhead’s presence, either, hands flaring up with visible blue light.

Even during such a scenario, Stride couldn’t deny her interest in what was most likely a potential fight. She crossed her arms over her chest as she approached, hoping for a better view, although a scowl quickly overtook her expression at the intervention. Fights were always fun to watch, after all- especially when it was some weird emo kid versus an angry Norwegian. Nevertheless, she refrained from speaking at first, listening to the various back and forth for a while between the groups.

That is, until the Eze creature suddenly shot a bolt of fucking lightning out of nowhere.

ā€œThe fuck, Godzilla?ā€ Instinctively, one of Stride’s hands flew to her submachine, preparing to draw it if necessary. ā€œYa know, when ya rant about not fightin’ then go and shoot fuckin’ lazers everywhere, that kinda defeats the damn purpose!ā€ Squinting at the lizard for a while, she cast a glance over to Kora-Ganger, what familiarity that would have inevitably managed to slip in cast away from the previous surprise.

ā€œYou’re sayin’ that kid’s a terrorist?ā€ Stride paused, peering over at Drake skeptically. ā€œLooks like he could barely lift a stick ā€˜fore breakin’ his arms.ā€

Almost immediately upon seeing the fight brewing, Madison had practically flown from the ground and onto his feet, staring towards the little gathering with a deep frown. While he truly didn’t know many here asides from Stride and Kora- and even then, the latter wasn’t of his world, by the looks of it- there was still the matter of a godlike being watching over them. Of course, what the being even wanted was up for a debate, but Madison had a strong gut feeling that it wasn’t for everyone to get killed off so quickly. He hurriedly slipped a pair of gloves on from the bag and jogged over, taking care not to use ]too much of his own skills so soon- and casting a friendly nod in the direction of the fairy floating above the arena, hello there, good to meet you and all- and stopped some distance away from the actual fight.

ā€œHow about we all just calm down and don’t use any sort of weapons or magic or anything in this situation?ā€ Madison offered. ā€œIt won’t do any good here, aside from potentially letting in those.ā€ Almost casually, he gestured over to the gate, where some sort of vibrant red shark was baring its teeth against the grate.

Sharks. Wonderful creatures, really, but not something he exactly wanted flopping about and causing even more havoc.

And the lava also posed a problem, too.

Adira Hasidare

A lot of things happened at once.

Then a dragon-man-hybrid charged forward, "No one will fight here so long as I stand!" he called in a thunderous voice between a beam of lightning shot from his mouth and stuck in the center of where they all stood, kicking up smoke and dust as well as punching a half-foot deep crater into the area it landed. At the blast everyone had been knocked back slightly (save for Fell who was bigger and heavier than all of them), and Adira stumbled backwards, but was caught by Fell. The hybrid was perched on his staff in an offensive pose but instead of also assuming a pose of aggression, Adira just shot him an irritated look.

'How ironic for someone who has just declared that he will not tolerated fighting to make the first attack...' she thought, still glaring at him, though she said nothing. "That was completely unnecessary." said the suit of armor, obviously thinking the same thing, and Adira made a sound of agreement. Fell crooned softly and Adira touched his head, assuming him that she was perfectly fine.

"What are you doing?!" came another voice and Adira looked up to see some kind of fairy creature, stiffening slightly as she came closer. She's heard stories of the fae and it was one of the few things that could make her skin crawl. "She's clearly fire bound, and if I know anything about fire, it's that it's volatile. You can't subdue fire with fire! That's how you make it worse!" the fairy woman scolded the hybrid coldly before turning to the rest of them. "Stop showing off. All of you. You, with the black hair and wings. Move from her sight. Miss? Despite their actions, no one wants to hurt you. And we've been transplanted, your old enemies are not here."

Adira made a sound of irritation and sheathed her sword. So much for trying to make friends. Already Adira was feeling crowded. She'd been in this small arena for too long and there was a deep yearning for the open mountain ranges she was used to. And there were so many others at this point, Adira was rather uncomfortable.

A dead man who appeared as a woman.
A true woman with hair white as snow.
A dragon-man-hybrid with lighting and martial arts.
A darkly dressed man with a canine skull as a mask.
A man who seemed to be at least 90% made of metal.
Another man who was wearing a full metal suit.
A girl with black feathered wings,
and Drake with his more serpentine wings.
Khojin (whatever she was supposed to be).
An empty suit of armor that'd just tried to swing at
the enraged red-headed female (who was also on fire still).
A teleporting purple/black dressed girl.
A fairy who apparently thought she was a queen.
And then Adira and Fell.

And these were only the humanoids that Adira had noticed so far. There was a good chance that there were (or at least that there would be) more to come.

It was a drastic understatement saying that Adira was "uncomfortable". There were way too many people who were all way more powerful than she was. What was she even doing here? The only think anyone seemed to have in common was that they'd all been suddenly whisked away from their home worlds. 'What the hell am I doing? I can't leave until Rend allows it, it seems, but staying here will get me killed. And I can't let that happen.' Being so deep in thought Adira didn't notice Khojin's subtle hints, however Fell did and he gently nudged Adira forwards. Fanghur were extremely intelligent creatures, after all.

Adira followed Khojin out of ear shot of the rest of the group. There was still irritation in her expression, though this was to cover up her uncertainty. Absentmindly her hand began stroking Fell's scaly head and he crooned softly, the vibrations slowly calming Adira until she had regained her temperament and was no longer as high-strung as she'd been moment ago.

Ezenvare Queem

Eze ignored those attempting to harass him about his actions. He guessed he had at least 200 years experience over nearly every single one of them, and almost all of them look human enough to not get run out of every town they go to. Through all the other tries to diffuse the situation Eze was still balancing on his staff and glaring at the loud woman. She reminded him of many, many problem causers from Eze's life from soldiers to criminals.

After what seemed like the longest few moments the half-dragon ever had to go through, Madison proposed an actual idea. Introductions. Taking a quick breath, Eze spoke with his deep hiss of a voice once more. "I'm Ezenvare Queem, I hail from Da'vier, and I have had more unprovoked bad experiences with military and guard types than I have scales on my hide."

Eze wasn't too terribly interested in making friends, as he could see those that were too far along the path of evil being protected by those who didn't know better. Besides, his friends had a tendency to die in the most... depressing of ways. Allies, on the other hand, where a different story.

Oliver simply smiled from behind his mask in reply to Madi's friendly words and gestures. She was pretty. A lot of the people were quite fascinating, beautiful, intriguing. He didn't know why he felt that everyone seemed visually pleasing considering he hadn't seen anything like them before. Unless, he had? Somewhere deep within his mind, a lingering feeling or emotion somehow related to this mixture of species. Nah, probably not.

Okay now things were getting a little heated. Literally. The red head was drawing a lot of attention to herself for all the wrong reasons and everyone was on edge. She was staring dragon boy down, perhaps they had some history? How fascinating, more than one person now had someone with them from the same world. If anyone might have been from his world, he'd have no idea, which was a shame. It would be nice to feel some sort of safety and comfort with another.

Oliver jumped, snapping out of his little day dream as he watched the lizard man suddenly jump up onto his stick thingy and shoot bloody lightning from his mouth. The bolt landed straight between the two who looked like they were about to fight as smoke and dust cleared, revealing a fairly large crater. His eyes were wide and he couldn't help but feel the need to stay dead still and hold his breath. "Holy shit." He said out loud to himself.

Things only felt worse now as the red head's flames were stronger and she ordered everyone to back off. There was ice, a flying woman too now. Everyone was talking and things felt slightly more calm. Oliver finally released a very long, loud breath, almost forgetting he was stopping himself from breathing. It was now that he realised that Madi and Stride had left and were with the others. When did that happen? Oliver, a bit puzzled, looked around to understand his current position better. "Well. At least I have the umbrella to myself now." Just casually talking to himself. He could see that John, or Robocop, the lizard man, Eze and green eyes metal man were the only ones nearby.

Oliver decided to first, put on his boots, although they looked god awful with his current attire, at least his feet wouldn't burn on the hot round. Then stood up, making sure to keep hold of the bag and umbrella, then turned to the others. "Well." He said out loud to no one in particular. "Call me crazy but I think it best to stay together as a group. For now anyway." Yes he was very crazy. Great idea Oliver, go towards the dangerous group of strangers. And he did just that. He didn't want to be alone considering what lay behind the safety of the walls that surrounded them. Everyone needed to stick together to get out of this mess.

"Hi I'm Oliver." Oliver suddenly said quite loudly over all the talking once he finally reached the gathering of people. His words far too stern and awkward for a proper greeting as he lifted his hand to give them all a wave, only to have it fall off out of nervousness. He was greatly embarrassed now. His nerves got the better of him. He felt real stupid. Oliver stood there, quite frozen, as his hand lay on the ground. With any luck everyone would have been far too interested in the drama with the red head to notice his embarrassing greeting. "Rend you can just bury me alive now." Wonderful first impression Oli. Good job.

Xin wasn't gonna shoot first. No, he wasn't going to shoot first. Let them all just kill each other before cleaning up the mess. It was no use, the hostility in the air was like a bad glass of milk to Xin. Disgusting because it was left to hang for too long.

While he would have gladly watched and enjoyed the fighting that was about to ensue, this failure for either the fighting sides to start fighting or the peacekeeping side trying to stop the fighters from fighting. Which side would eventually win was anybodies' guess, but it was still wearing down on Xin's limited patience.

Anger. Kill. Maim. Destroy. Strangle. All these things went together in Xin's head, a problem and its solutions. Looking around, he knew that it was coming to take him over. If he didn't find a living outlet to release his rage upon, Xin would soon be putting himself in danger while likely taking a few others down with him.

Another quick look around the arena and finally something useful seemed to show itself. There was a shark swimming in the lava near the gate to the outside world. That would do.

Pulling out his pistol while walking towards the gate, Xin focused on the shark. There was more then one. It swam to do as the other was doing, biting at the bars of the cage without any signs of stopping. When he finally reached the bars Xin shot one of the sharks with his rifle-sounding pistol. Its body exploded from the force of a hollow round from the little rail pistol, but there was no visible blood. This wasn't satisfying enough.

Xin shoved his hand into the mouth of the second shark mid-bite. Grabbing hold of it from the inside, Xin pulled back with all his might and force the creature through the bars. Surprisingly, only the fins got separated from the lava beast that was now flopping about on the ground. Using the plasma knife Xin cut off two feet of the sharks back end before picking it up and beating the bleeding shark to death with it. Xin could feel the pleasure with every strike as the 'fighting' soothed him.

One moment Kichi was casually venturing through the forests of his world, on the hunt for a certain person corrupted by a demon. He was going to be paid for this job too. He'd do it anyway even if he wasn't paid. The money was simply a bonus this time and he kind of needed it considering nothing was for free. The next, he finds himself surrounded by darkness. It was such a strange place to be in. It did not feel as though the lights had gone out but more like he was in a strange realm dedicated to the colour black. He wasn't sure how to explain it but he couldn't say it was a very comforting place. The Rend, this Rend guy, he sounded like an idiot. Like some employee hired out of pity. He sounded so unsure of his own words, and all that rambling was pretty annoying.

Although the idea was quite intriguing that this strange being came up with, it would have been nice to be notified in advance. Kichiro suddenly felt his stomach drop, as if he was falling before his mind went blank and there was silence. Kichi lay there on the hot, colourful mosaic tiles. He was conscious and felt like he was waking up after a long nap. Didn't feel like moving, just wanted to really go back to sleep. But it was a bit hard with lightning bolts, ice, fire and yelling happening around you. Kichi simply stirred, groaning out of irritation. He wasn't too far from the gathering of troglodytes, that's how he'd see them for now anyway. A bunch of uncivilised cave people fighting over who gets to light the fire first.

The bickering didn't seem to end and just went on and on. Kichiro rolled over onto his side, eyes lazily open now as he studied the gathering of strange looking people. They were certainly an odd bunch. Kichi couldn't help but get excited over the possible fun things headed his way. Considering how emotional some of them were it would be too easy to toy with them. The soothing sounds of a flute playing nearby only made him want to sleep even more. How annoying that he would be forced to wake up. "Oh my god no one cares." Kichi said out loud to no one in particular; at was almost aimed at everyone really. A shame the peaceful ones couldn't keep the brats under control. "No one cares if you think you're stronger than they are. And no one cares that you lost your damn daughter, go have a cry somewhere else. Is this really going to be some kind of stupid fight over 'my guns are bigger than yours'. Or hey I'm angry because you did bad things in my world?" Kichiro himself was in fact, one of those brats. He liked to stir shit and most of his statements were probably not even relevant but simply there to make someone annoyed or to see who would get annoyed first.

"Why don't you all take a fine look at green eye metal man over there. Use him as a role model for how to take your anger out on other things." With that said he pointed casually with his thumb at Xinder who was casually and amusingly tearing a lava shark apart. Kichiro grinned at the sight. He hoped to see the man do that to a person some day. All of the white hair male's words were spoke in a calm and lazy tone. As if he were forced to read something out in front of the class by the teacher. Madison was doing quite well with trying to keep things calm, hopefully her words would work and everyone would calm their tits. Otherwise. "Fighting would be such a waste of time right now. Especially considering we only just got here. Surely there are more fun things to do." Kichiro didn't care if his earlier statements struck a nerve or anything, and a simple insult headed his way would only encourage him to be a pest even more. To think that the creatures in his world were fun to toy with, imagine the surprises this lot had in stall for him.

"Oh and I'm Kichiro. Destroyer of imbeciles or something like that. Yeah."

...Where’s Ocean?

What happened- I- where did she go? What just happened? What...wait.

How…? Characters...characters
don’t do this. Characters can’t do this! They can’t just- just get up and walk away from the Rend like this! That’s ridiculous! They- they can’t- but what if she did...

…

EVERYTHING IS GOING HORRIBLY WRONG.

N-no, it’s too early for everything to be
that bad, Rend! Sure, the gates just- just magically opened themselves, and sure, one of the characters just- just somehow left, but...but it’s fine! I can still do this! After all, every GM starts off rockily, right? They always have that one that ends up going all...like this, right? In fact, I’d say I’m doing decent, given the...uhm, the characters I picked up. And yeah, it’s my first one! Nothing to feel bad about! I just need to, uh, start things now. Intervene.

ā€Okay, everyone! I- well, one of your fellow...people just ended up leaving, but...but don’t worry, alright? I’m pretty sure that no one else can do that, but- but I probably have to make sure, uh...Heh. Sorry! B-before I do anything like that, though, I just want to go ahead and clear up a few things. Actually, uh, y’know. Do my job and all.

ā€œWell, I just want to go ahead and clarify that
nobody is supposed to kill anyone here. Yep! Haha, yeah, no, uh, trying to cut people in half, shoot someone in the head, noooope. In fact, you’re actually doing the exact opposite of what I wanted, if you can believe that! Weird, right? Heh. Basically, uh, I’m going to send you all out to do these amazing missions! Fun, right? You’ll be explorers of a new world, and you can fight evil monsters and things like that! Everything you could want, I’m sure- but, uh, still, no killing the other people here? You’re supposed to form a nice little group down there, and, uh, not supposed to attack everyone else? In fact, you guys will actually, ehm...get...punished if you do anything like this again! Scary, right? Nobody wants that. And you’re also supposed to protect each other, too, so if you don’t do that, you’ll...Also get punished!

ā€œNow, now, I know what you all must be thinking- ā€˜But Rend, you sound like some evil god trying to watch us all suffer!’ I would also like to clarify that I am neither a god, demon, daemon, daedra, angel, death, Gifted, or anything like that. You guys are
not, in fact, in hell. But I do have to be a bit strict in things, however, since you all are so...uh, violent? And because one of you just suddenly up and left, but, anyway. Let me just, uh, clear my throat hereā€¦ā€

Suddenly, several of the characters found themselves feeling...well, not as absurdly strong. Got to even the playing field and all that, but, eh-hehm. Don’t want to end up causing more trouble, but, uh, the ones with the most skills and powers and magical stuff ended up with less. Like Rasteva, and Eze- mainly because I’m just kind of worried about how far this will, uh, escalate, if they’re so strong...Uhm, and, uh, the other ones who triggered the problems, um, got less strong somewhat, too, and, uh, yeah. Less power. Of course, not planning on, uh, taking away from those who need the power, but yes. Weakened somewhat. This is both punishment and to make sure nobody else escapes.

ā€œNow, I’m going to remove the lava and, uh, other things right now. And open the gate properly. I expect for all of you to get along at this point, or else, you know. Punishment. Have fun!ā€

With that, all obstacles that had been placed outside the arena vanished, and the gates began to open once more…

As Adira stood and moved to walk towards the others, Rend's omnipresent voice rang out, sounding rather flustered (which was odd if this being was trying to play god). However he managed to bumble his say through explaining that not only were they not supposed to kill each other (which was a relief) but that they would be "punished" if they tried. This coming from the being that summoned lava sharks and giant spiders because Adira opened a gate, she was not eager to find out what his concept of "punishment" was.

More than that though, they were all supposed to work together to go on this heroic quests he'd supposedly be assigning them. Looking at the others Adira couldn't help but to wonder exactly how thoroughly Rend had thought this through. If he'd intended for everyone to get along and work together, he probably shouldn't have chosen a group of people from opposite sides of an active war. She also noted that, while everyone else was exceptionally powerful, she was somewhat on the weaker side which would make it rather difficult for her to keep up with them on their missions.

This thought was addressed a moment later when Rend said:

As he said this a strong gust of wing blew through the arena and past- no, through- the bodies of the characters. She saw many of the more powerful beings sway as the wind blew through them, appearing to have been significantly weakened (especially that fairy who seemed to have just caused a hurricane on a whim). However when the wind reached Adira she felt... well, the same actually. Nothing seemed to have happened to her. Too bad.

However as she glanced over at Fell she could see that he was equally confused, the scales on his back rippling oddly as if his muscles were sore. There were strange lumps under the skin that hadn't been there before. They bore a resemblance to young adult Fanghur who were in the first stages of wing development, however Fell had not reached that age so Adira quickly scratched that off her mental list of explanations. Before she could ponder any further, Rend spoke again.

ā€œNow, I’m going to remove the lava and, uh, other things right now. And open the gate properly. I expect for all of you to get along at this point, or else, you know. Punishment. Have fun!ā€

At these words the gate did open, the monsters and lava having disappeared. Adira looked at Fell but he stared back at her in equal confusion. "Well, I guess we know why we're here..." she said slowly, still trying to process all of this, "If we're all supposed to work together like some big, happy family then the first step would be to go meet everyone. And not pick a fight this time." Fell bobbed his head in agreement and Adira hesitantly started walking towards the group of now significantly weakened heroes.

After Eze's few words to Rasteva, all that any of the others did was shout at each other. Figuring that his intervention would be, once again, pointless the half-dragon began walking back to his bag. Almost halfway through his little walk a storm picked up. The rain Eze liked, but as it escalated he simply dug his claws into the ground to prevent himself from moving with its wind.

Even with the storm, Eze managed to make progress to the bag. However, as soon as the storm stopped the being that brought them here spoke up. Something about things not turning out how it wanted to. Perhaps the 'god' should have made a place a little better for introductions, or given everyone some time before sending them all to the same place. Eze didn't care at this point. The only thing he cared about from this being was the fact that it mentioned that the exit was now open.

Then it happened. Just an arm's reach from his bag and Eze dropped to the floor. The air was becoming dryer, his mind foggier, his muscles more tired, and his scales dulled of their bronze-like shine. Then his shoulders began feeling pain beyond anything he had ever experienced. From his crawling position, the half-dragon let out a long, loud, high-pitched screech like a dragon mounted on a pike. All the while his wings were being forced from his back, slowly growing out to 6 and a quarter feet each. After 5 or so minutes of the excruciating pain, the death screech ended as Eze shakily stood up. Finishing his march to the bag, Eze quickly opened it up only to devour the once again full bucket of water and fish.

Placing his bag's straps around his neck and rolling his wings on his back, Eze shakily marched towards the gate. Useless. I am weak. How am I supposed to fight evil like this? No, I useless. Just another reminder as to how useless I am. I couldn't even stop a fight, how am I supposed to protect everyone else?

Again. Again the damn voice in his head spoke. Another shaky speech from a god with no idea as to what it was doing, saying that it was going to punish people. Xin would like to see this 'Rend' come down and try him. Now it wanted him to go out questing like a group from some old fantasy RPG. I'm a fucking soldier, not some pretty boy mage who just so happens to know some near invincible paladin.

Then they opened. They finally opened. The gates no longer stuck. Xin smiled beneath his helmet as he walked out of the arena, not even taking a moment to check if anyone else was coming with him. It was time for him to tempt fate, or Rend as it was calling itself.

Adira Hasidare

Adira took a small step forwards. For the most part it seemed that everyone had managed to reach an uncomfortable truce - this would have to be enough. "I hate to interrupt," she said evenly, addressing all those around her, "But it looks like the only way we are all going to get back to our own worlds-" her eyes flicked towards the noticeably small Rasteva who had just dropped her polearm, "-and back to our normal strength, is to go along with Rend's game."

"He said something about going on an adventure or whatever but, though he hasn't specified what this mission will actually pertain to, the first step would still probably be exiting the arena." Adira's eyes turned upwards. The light had been slowly but steadily moving across the sky whilst they'd been standing in the arena. "If we remain here too much longer, it'll begin to get dark. And, seeing as everything that makes up this world seems to be based on Rend's whims, there's no telling what creatures may travel under the cover of night."

"If we can get out of here before night falls, I can find a place for us to set up camp and see if I can trap anything to eat. If we're fortunate, Rend will tell us what exactly we have to do before he'll allow us to return." She pushed a hand through her hair, meeting the eyes of everyone in the little social-circle. "I also... apologize... for my rudeness earlier," there was a small strain in her voice, making it obvious that she rarely was one to apologize, though she didn't look away from their eyes. "I have no excuses as we are all on edge about this whole situation. However, I am as keen to return to my world as I'm sure you all are. So it may be in all of our best interests to hold a truce, at least until escape is a possibility." Fell nudged her hand and Adira blinked. "Oh, yes, and I am Adira. This is my Fanghur companion, Fell."

"Fell did not receive a bag as everyone else did, and the food that is in mine is not suitable for him to eat long term. So even if you all have food that is fit enough for you I still need to go hunting." Adira answered simply, then made a general gesture towards all of them. "Take a good look around you. As far as I can tell, Rend didn't just make up all of this stuff on his own - he borrowed it from somewhere. Similarly to how he 'borrowed' us from our own worlds - and a considerable number of us your world world in particular, if I'm not mistaken." Her eyes wandered between Kora, Drake and the others that Fell had detected similar scents on (though Adira herself did not yet know their names).

"As for the design of this 'game', it's like a bunch of pieces from different puzzles that a child might've connected together. As far as I can tell regarding the rules and reasoning behind it all..." she offered a lame shrug, "I honestly have no idea. But so far he's make it clear we're to work together and complete a series of tasks which he will assign us. He has even opened the gate and removed it's guardians - which strikes me as a pretty clear indicator that it's his desire is for us to leave the arena."

Adira then looked up towards the sky, shielding her eyes against the slowly descending orb of light. "I don't know how long the day or night last in this place, nor do I know exactly how long we've been here thus far, but time seems to be moving along nonetheless." Adira looked back to the group, making sure to meet Kora's eyes, though her voice was level and lacking hostility as she continued on, "Which brings me to reiterate my previous point: it is unwise to be running around aimlessly in the dark, especially when you're in an unknown and potentially hostile environment. Therefore I am inclined to find somewhere to set up camp before the last of the light disappears."

Fell Vrangr

Meanwhile, Fell had taken an interest in this new kid who'd just jumped onto Drake's back and began talking fast enough to stun one of the faire folk. Where are we? Who are all of you people? Can I pet your dragon? Or like, ride it? I’m Skip the Third. Are we dead? Which afterlife is this? I kinda wanted to meet Cerberus ā€˜cause I’ve always wanted a dog that didn’t die and that’d be like having three dogs." Now Fell was a touch indignation that this new figure had just referred to him as a dragon, as he was most certainly not, but Fell was also much more understanding than Adira usually was about the misunderstanding. What truly perplexed him was not the hyperactivity this one displayed, but instead the strange scent that emanated from him. Though Fell had encountered many unfamiliar scents in his lifetime, this one was completely foreign to him. Like if dragonfire had engulfed an alchemist hovel. When Drake flew off (rather quickly, he noticed) Fell slowly moved closer to the yellow-eyed being, sniffing his leg in puzzlement.

Ma’am. While others might have chosen to correct what was, really, a completely honest mistake, Madison chose not to- at least, not for the moment. He hardly bothered these days until it was completely necessary for him to do so, and the young man had already flounced off before he could have the chance to do so. As such, the vampire merely blinked once, twice, thrice, then trailed after. It was rude not to answer a question, after all- especially when said question pertained to someone who had escaped captivity as easily as waving her wrist.

As soon as he was in proper earshot once again, Madison slowed to a stop, taking care not to plant himself in a puddle or anything of the sort (these heels had been expensive, after all!) before speaking. ā€œI’m afraid that she didn’t tell me anything about getting out,ā€ he admitted. ā€œShe was in a bit of a...rush to get out, you could say. All she gave me was a warning before- well, considering you saw her before she left, I’m sure you know what she did just now, too.ā€

The lie came naturally, the researcher not missing a beat throughout his words. While he was sure that this one wasn’t as...volatile as the others, he was still determined to keep the existence of the fairy’s presents hidden for the time being. With how the gathering had been acting, and how powerful the woman had shown herself to be, there was enough evidence to make Madison reasonably wary- or so he felt. Even if they decided to properly ally, there was still the chance they would attempt to use the capsules for more malicious purposes. So he simply decided to keep his lips sealed, absentmindedly adjusting his packs as he stood.

Soon enough, Madison seemed to realize something, and smiled brightly even if the other’s eyes were not on him. ā€œI’m Madison, by the way; it’s nice to meet you.ā€ Curious as to what had drawn the man’s attention, he peered over his shoulder, looking at the contents of the bag from where he was. A question had begun to form itself on his lips, although it was soon and suddenly replaced upon catching sight of a dog trotting up.

The question itself was delayed again as the vampire cooed at the canine, bending a little in order to pet its head.

Once he had remembered what he had been about to say, Madison raised his head, although he kept his eyes locked on the little beast for the time being. ā€œIs she yours? She’s beautiful!ā€ Although he typically disliked assumptions, the other had been rifling through a bag stuffed to the brim with dog treats and other miscellaneous objects, so there was at least some evidence to do so.

By the point that both Adira and Rasteva had spoken, he had lowered himself to the ground already, tucking his duffel bag beneath him so as to avoid getting himself wet. He appeared completely and utterly distracted by this point, so his sudden raising of voice seemed to only spring from nowhere at first.

ā€œI have to agree with Kora on this, actually. After all, you two- such a cute little puppy- you two seem to be assuming that our host didn’t add in other challenges for us to deal with. This...being has been acting extremely erratically which leads me to believe that there may be some things that we can’t expect outside- I’m sure you all remember the sudden lava, after all. We have enough rations to feed all of us, I’m sure, and the gate can be barricadedā€¦ā€ He paused once again, moving to actually look back at the others.

ā€œI would say that we should cast a vote. From what we’ve heard, we’re all a team, and if one of us ends up wounded, we’ll all end up punished one way or another. Shall we?ā€

After all, he was no leader. Calling a vote and conducting himself as if he was was only stir more tension, or so Madison believed.

It was with a sort of morbid fascination that the hybrid watched Khojin’s...tongue? loll from the massacred flesh, waving about in the open air for a long, uncomfortable moments. It was like watching a car crash- it wasn’t really the most pleasant thing to watch, but you just couldn’t tear your eyes away. It was only until the muscle was pulled back into the ā€œZa Ri’sā€ mouth that Stride blinked, continuing to squint at the opening as if expecting it to suddenly start expelling beetles.

ā€œThat’s fucked up,ā€ she muttered decisively, giving a short shake of her head. ā€œYa know, where I come from, ya don’t usually tear open someone’s face when you’re screwin’ ā€˜em. Least, we have a rule ā€˜bout that; ā€˜don’t stick your dick in crazy’.ā€ Stride paused, giving Khojin another once-over. ā€œOr, ya know. ā€˜Don’t let batshit insane stick its dick in ya.’.ā€ The true rule of thumb, really, no matter the race or origin.

Adira’s words caused her attention to be drawn away from the weird horror-story shit she had just witnessed, and it was with a sense of disbelief that Stride listened to the dragon-rider boss everyone around. Her disbelief was only increased as the weird suit of armor chimed in, and, eventually, Stride began to chuckle just a bit louder than before.

ā€œLook,ā€ she said dryly. ā€œI don’t care if you’re the princess where you’re from or whatever, but I can’t say I really wanna go jump off a cliff cause some magical armor and some kid told me there was a buncha pillows at the bottom of it. Hell, I could just be trippin’ by this point cause some asshole decided it’d be fun to slip some drugs in my drink, but I’m still not gonna just fuck off into the wilds like this.ā€ Idly, Stride brought her gaze about in a circle, taking in the surrounding party.

ā€œJust cause ya think the voice cut pieces from our worlds doesn’t mean everythin’s baby-proofed. For all we know, someone came from Monty Python, and there’s a buncha killer rabbits everywhere. There were fuckin’ lava spiders out there, ya know- and whose to say the voice might end up lettin’ one of us die off to make things interestin’?ā€ Popping a stiffened joint in her neck, Stride let out a small sigh before continuing on.

ā€œI’m votin’ that we just don’t follow the lead of the underdressed fifteen year old and Iron Man. Not sayin’ we hide in here forever, but we should at least find a place where we know there’s no poison dolphins or anythin’ like that.ā€

Absentmindedly, Stride took notice of the weird little glowing guy who had joined DoppleKora, but her attention did not focus for long on them. There were more important issues at hand, after all.

Azai had been enjoying a night's rest in his web just moments before and now he was falling... and falling... and falling. He wasn't a fly! He didn't have wings! How the hell did that ominous voice think that it was a great idea to have him spiraling down in the darkness like this? He had tried to use his webs to cling to something but this inky blackness had no ledge, branch, or ceiling. It was just emptiness. He did have a strange bag that appeared beside him but that wasn't helping him right now. He almost wished he was back in the mansion he despised. At least things there made sense! Why was it that he was the one that always got snatched away from his home and brought somewhere else? This was the second time, damn it! And this time, he hadn't even done anything to warrant his capture!

Suddenly, the shadow seemed to break open and spit the spider out and he continued to drop. The ground and people were fast approaching. "Ah!" he cried out a bit undignified as he landed on one of the creatures below. Both he and the stranger hit the ground hard though Azai had to admit, he was lucky this guy cushioned his fall. He winced and started to try and get to his feet but the damn bag dropped on his back then and he winced as he hit the man beneath him again. He groaned and shook his head, his dark strands falling against his pale skin. He looked up, his deep amethyst gaze catching a glimpse of the dog in front of him. He had never seen a creature like him before. His eyes widened as he got on his hands and knees, careful to actually use the ground as leverage instead of the man. He pulled himself off the stranger and dusted himself off, his gaze never leaving the strange four-legged beasty. He wondered how the creature's innards tasted like.

The black widow then realized there were others in the strange place he found himself. He tensed and crouched low. He gave a hiss and bared his fangs. He really didn't like meeting strangers as of late. The voice said he was in a different world, but was it really a different world or was the master of the house toying with him? Punishing him for biting that patron? He wasn't supposed to bite or harm the others after all but it really wasn't his fault the man kept poking his face. The guy was asking to be bitten. He didn't recognize anyone or anything here. And being out in the open like this put him at a disadvantage. His only true weapons in this situation were his fangs and claws but he couldn't take on all of these strangers. Some of them looked like their skin wouldn't be easily penetrated.

Adira Hasidare

Adira couldn't have agreed more with Rasteva's argument if she tried, however Kora would have none of it. She was obviously one of those stubborn leadership types who was totally unwilling to compromise. This annoyed Adira because they got killed rather quickly in her world, along with those who choose to follow them (which seemed like a senseless waste of lives in her opinion). Apparently that was different where Kora came from though, as others from her world seemed to side with her. Adira sighed softly. She genuinely didn't want them all to die, especially for the simple reason of hardheadedness, however it was becoming quite clear that logic would not sway these people - only consequence, and that would be up to Rend. She was running out of time to just stand around and talk to them.

"Very well," Adira said, "We'll split up. I'm travelling with Rasteva and Khojin-" Fell ran back up to Adira, having momentarily sated his curiosity on the strange yellow-eyed human and nudged her with his snout, "-and Fell. Anyone else who also wishes to leave the arena is invited to travel with us." Adira turned and now spoke directly to Rasteva and Khojin, "Already a few have left the arena. It may be in our best interest to catch up to them. Even disabled by Rend, the hybrid had wings that allowed him flight and I'm sure we could use an aerial advantage when we undertake whatever task Rend assigns us."

Upon Khojin's question and Rasteva's short summary about what they were capable of, Adira had to pause and think. What was she capable? "I am survivalist by nature and the best hunter in my village," she said, slowly, trying to recall what people had said about her back when she was home. "I can track and take down even the most flighty of prey, and my arrows never miss their targets. My sword can cut through the mountains that may stand in my way, though I can fight with a number of improvised weapons." Adira touched the knife pouch at her side, drawing one from it's sleeve. "I'm no wizard but I do know how to use some magic," she whispered a few words for the ancient language and the knife suddenly burst into flames, going out a few moments later as she replaced it into her pouch. "And though my knowledge of healing cannot revive the dead, it can save the dying." Adira gestured to her side, "Fell-"

Fell gave a roar (which would've made even Adira jump had she not been expecting it), opening his mouth to expose his many rows of knife-like teeth while clicking his wickedly curved talons against the ground. The spines alone his back bristled and his tail flicked back and forth as he growled dangerously. He generally behaved as a puppy might so occasionally it slipped people's minds that he was still the cousin of dragons. Suffice to say, there was no verbal explanation needed to define what an asset Fell could be. Adira couldn't help but smile slightly as she turned back to look at the others. "We have faced many foes, but there has yet to be an enemy that Fell and I could not defeat."

Xinder Ouquid

Xin had been out in the desert for a little bit already. Alone. And he was enjoying it. No people that were being too noisy, no fighting, just quiet. Glorious quiet. Next in Xinder's mind to the brutal murder of an active battlefield.

He had used this quiet to his advantage, pulling out his matter printer and having it unpack into the full 4x4x4 cube. Almost as quickly he had it breaking down a pile of rocks. Gotta make sure that I have the parts to fix this crap. Not long after having it set up, Xin had the printer create a small AC unit and the fuel to run it, which he quickly set up near the rocks that he found himself sitting and working on.

Next, fix the shields. Xin took off the top half of his armor, laying it down on the natural stone table, revealing his black body glove. With a little rummaging through the pockets of the armor Xin found his multi-tool and pulled out a metal plate covered in circuitry from his armor.

Now what did Rend fucking do to my shields? Looking over the metal plate, Xin shook his helmet. It should be working. Pulling another small device out of his armor's many pockets, Xin plugged the plate into the device and let it run some form of diagnostics. So it is doing everything, but the shield isn't forming... fuck Rend and his reality altering bullshit. With a calm huff Xin put all of his gear back on, leaving the printer to do as it was doing. Then she came.

"Oh, lookie here. We got a tourist down in the underworld." Said Xin, sarcastically as he could, as he watched Khojin take in the desert around them. "Everyone but the demon looker too panzy to join with those who actually want to leave?"

Adira Hasidare

Adira choose to ignore the insults thrown behind her back. It was discouraging and even rather infuriating. Was she not trying to get them all home? Was she not trying to reach a peaceful solution? Had she not just offered her skill set up in service? Adira's fists clenched as she walked after Khojin. It was aggravating. Their world was so different from hers that they must've thought themselves better than her. Bah. They knew nothing about her or her world, and they had no place to judge her. If they wanted to sit in a pit and wait to die so perhaps their spirits would return home, then that was their choice. Adira was going to complete Rend's tasks and get back home safely. There was a gruesome war quickly approaching in her world and she was destined to be on the front lines, to die, in order to secure victory for the rebellion against that bastard King Nazar. She'd seen it and, while those others could sit on their asses if they so desired, she would not be caught sitting around in the sand as if she had no purpose other than to exist.

This angry thoughts filled Adira's head and her eyes were narrowed dangerously at her feet as she walked. Seeing that she was angry, Fell crooned softly and nudged her hand. It remained in a fist but when he nudged it a second time it released, accompanied by a soft sigh from Adira as she reached back and patted his head comfortingly. Now wasn't the time to be angry, he seemed to tell her with his soft croons, focus on the task at hand.

As they stepped out of the arena Adira could see the scout hadn't been lying: it truly was a desert outside. They were standing on the ledge of the arena and she could see there were a series of rope bridges connecting each platform with jagged, rocky terrain below (Adira estimated about three hundred feet). The strange way the heat inside the arena had felt was instantly replaced with the standard beating heat she expected of this sort of arid environment. Because they were standing higher than they might've been were they on the ground, this scenery change was not as distance as it may have seemed. On the horizon Adira could see there was flat, barren land dotted by desert plants and just beyond that there appeared to be a wall of what she could only hope were trees. The sun was indeed moving across the sky slowly, beating down upon everything below and she was rather thankful not to have been wearing her winter furs.

Outside the arena was the man in metal armor, who'd taken it off and appeared to be trying to fix it or something. Adira would hazard to guess he was trying to undo whatever damage Rend had done and mentally wished him luck. She could not see any physical features as he was covered in black cloth like a ninja (it occurred to her that it must be hot under that head-to-toe body armor and mentally saluted him for his dedication to the disguise). Before she would examine further, he put his armor back on. "Oh, lookie here. We got a tourist down in the underworld." he said with cutting sarcasm, "Everyone but the demon looker too panzy to join with those who actually want to leave?"

Adira stepped forward into his line of sight, Fell close behind her and sniffing the air warily, though instead of answering she merely took in the landscape. Shielding her eyes from the sun she scanned the horizon. "There's movement," she said quietly, looking past Khojin, "It looks like... hares, are roaming around. They look to be the size of dogs, but I can't be sure from up here. They're ducking around and nibbling on the shrubs."

"They're workin' up to it," Khojin responded, disregarding Adira's observation for the moment and watching a bird of some sort circle in the distance before making her way over to where the honorable shark slayer had set up shop. She stopped several paces away, placing one hand on her hip and watching him work. "They prospect of seein' you without armor has 'em quakin' in their boots. They gotta psyche themselves up first."

She dropped to a squat, not moving any closer. She couldn't tell what he was doing, but she felt it safe to assume he hadn't escaped Rend's "eat shit" wave. She thought it better not to probe this matter. She did feel it rude not to remove the armor sphere from her coat, however; failure to do such might've been viewed as hostile by her own people, so she figured her apparent teammate deserved the same courtesy.

She ran her fingers over the blue crystalline surface, feeling herself become moderately less... stiff? On edge? Regardless of the word she chose to describe it, the blue magitek sphere retracted its defensive properties as it shrank into a small orb about an inch in diameter. She caught it as it fell, rolling it between three fingers and popping the crick in her neck.

"Y'know, this piece of shit can save you from a fuckin' eidolon at higher levels of quality, but damned if it doesn't leave you stiff." Apparently 'stiff' was the word she chose. "Price we pay for no jiggle, I guess."

She sat back in the dust, one hand supporting her from behind. "Never caught your name by the way," she continued. She held the armor sphere in front of one eye and closed the other, clearly picturing it as his head. "I think they did introductions back in the arena? I missed it. I'm Khojin, though."
