{ Childhood/Family Life }
Sydney's mother, Alice met her father, Hunter, while living in Boston. She visited the bar that he worked at and ended up going home with him. It was nothing more than a one night stand but two months later, she realized that she was pregnant. Sydney already had a five year old son, Samuel, at the time, but he lived in New York with her mother, Grace and father, Alan. Alice was unsure of who Samuel's father was and wasn't ready to give up her party girl lifestyle, and even after she had Sydney, she spent most of her time at posh parties and night clubs. Eleven months after Sydney was born, Alice returned to New York. About a month later, she fell off of the subway platform after a night of drinking and was killed.

Almost a year on the dot after Alice died, Sydney's grandmother lost her battle with breast cancer. This left Alan as the primary caregiver to Samuel and Sydney and although everyone encouraged him to hire a nanny to raise the kids for him, he refused. Alan played a major role in their upbringing. He was the one to make them breakfast every morning, to bring them to church on Sundays, to watch Sydney in her dance recitals and to tuck them into bed at her. Although Alan did a great job as basically a single parent to Sydney, she did miss out on having a maternal figure in her life. Because of this, Sydney began to idolize famous women and look up to them as her role models. She wanted to be the beautiful blonde girl in movies who everyone envied and wanted to be and she made it her ultimate goal to become the most popular girl in school.

{ High School Career }
Sydney has always done well in school. Not only does she strive to maintain a perfect social image, but she also works to keep a 4.0 average. She's not extremely intelligent but has various private tutors who help make sure she stays on top of her game, and when that doesn't work, she's never afraid to cheat on a test.

{ Good personality traits }
Confident, expressive, assertive, helpful, protective of friends, poised, organized

{ Bad personality traits }
Petty, vindictive, vain, guarded, fake, controlling, manipulative, touchy, selfish

{ Personality }
Sydney has always been confident in herself and it's probably a major reason for why she has done so well socially. She isn't afraid to speak her mind and has no problem with public speaking, confrontations or expressing her dislike for someone or something. While she has a reputation of being a bitch, she is protective of her friends and stand by them as long as they're loyal to her. Part of this stems from the fact that she doesn't want people to bash the people she hangs out with, since she believes in the "you're judged by the company you keep" saying. However, she also truly loves her close friends and would never let anyone speak poorly of them if she can help it. The key word there is "close friends" though. Growing up in The Upper East Side, Sydney knows that it's hard to find true, genuine friends who can be trusted with everything. There are tons of social climbers, opportunists, back stabbers and fakes among the bunches of girls who attend prep schools and even though Sydney is at the top of the social charts right now, she is still somewhat cautious around some of the girls around her.

Becoming a Queen Bee hasn't been easy and Sydney has been involved in her fair share of cat fights. She says that she's too classy to ever physically fight a girl but that doesn't mean that her claws don't come out when someone insults her. Her calm and collected front seems to disappear when she's pissed off and she's known to insult people below the belt. It's not uncommon for her to start vicious rumors about girls and even guys. Even if someone only wrongs her slightly, if it gets back to Sydney when she's already in a bad mood, she'll do everything in her power to ruin that person's social reputation. Although her position at the top does give her a lot of power, it has also caused her to be somewhat paranoid. When everyone knows your name, there's always someone talking about you and Sydney always fears that someone's going to spread something about her that will cause her to lose all of her friends. With this in mind, Sydney's actions always seem to be calculated. Whether it's something as simple as inviting a weird kid to one of her parties or purposely talking to someone else's boyfriend, her actions usually serve a bigger purpose.

There are really three sides to Sydney. To the few people who she truly trusts, she's one of the best friends that they could have. She'll fight for them, support them and willingly give them advice whenever needed. The majority of people fall into her middle group of relationships. She's not best friends with them but maintains a fake, overly nice demeanor towards them until she knows whether she can trust them or not. Lastly, with those who have done her wrong, Sydney will get her revenge and then pretend that they don't exist. She'll confront them about the problem, seek social revenge and then never acknowledge them again. She's not the type of person who can trust someone who has betrayed her and rarely gives people second chances, so it's easier for her to completely ignore people who she has decided are no longer worth her time.

{ Greatest joys in life }
Her friends, being complimented, her brother, shopping sprees

{ Greatest fears }
Being kidnapped, losing all of her friends, her grandfather dying, spiders

{ Life philosophy }
Sydney focuses on being realistic. She thinks it's useless to be optimistic because when you have high expectations, things never meet them.

"This is why you should never, ever get your hopes up. This is why you should see the glass as half empty. So when the whole thing spills, you aren’t as devastated." - Emily Griffin

"You think ‘Okay, I get it, I’m prepared for the worst’, but you hold out that small hope, see, and that’s what fucks you up. That’s what kills you." - Stephen King

{ Build }
Height: 5'4, Weight: 110 lbs
Sydney is fairly happy with her body. She's thin and has enough cleavage to give her curves, especially when she wears a bombshell bra. Sydney was never into sports as a child but does go jogging in the park or on a treadmill to maintain her weight. She sometimes wishes that she were a few inches taller but overall, she is okay with her form.

{ Hair Colour }
Blonde

{ Eye Colour }
Blue

{ Distinguishable Markings }
Sydney had a 2" scar on the back of her right arm from falling while intoxicated but underwent laser therapy to have it removed over the past summer. Her earlobes are pierced twice each. She has no tattoos but is considering getting a small heart tattoo on the inside of her middle finger.

{ Personal Style }
Sydney's style is usually preppy and expensive. She loves cardigans, dresses, cute flats and riding boots. She doesn't dress like a prude but thinks that outfits that are too revealing are trashy and skank-ish. She loves Lilly Pulitzer, Burberry, Chanel, Hermes, Opening Ceremony, Tom Ford and J. Crew. Her wardrobe generally depends on where she's going and what the event is. She can go from wearing a Vineyard Vines shep shirt at her Hamptons house to a Valentino dress at a dinner party.

So begins...

After hours of helping out at his mother's office, doing some last minute script revisions, and finally convincing his mother to allow him to use her car, Jacob was finally getting ready for the party. It still surprised him that Sydney even gave him an invititation. Sure, they helped one another in a way; he helped her with work and sometimes did the assignment for her, and she would randomly help him in his quest for popularity. But still, this was a party typically someone like him would never get invited to. So, it was no surprise that there was a swarm of butterflies throwing a bitch fit in his stomach and a sort of giddiness that had him smiling.

Jake took a quick shower and washed his hair. Letting it air-dry, he maneuvered inside their apartment to the kitchen and grabbed his dish from the brown bag. His mom was in her little art studio and had not felt like cooking, so she ordered take-out. Which was pretty much cool with Jake since he had randomly developed a strong appreciation for shrimp lo mein. Digging in with a pair of chopsticks, Jake checked his phone occasionally to make sure that he was still on schedule when he got a text from Persephone. It was in a group message. As he read, he stopped chewing and stared at his phone, puzzled. He was with Sephy on this one; something was fishy. Not that he knew a thing of Persephone's interaction with Sydney earlier, but he also knew how Sydney could be occasionally, at least from what others have told him. But was the girl who was helping him out be the same girl that would try to hurt one of his friends?

No, he didn't want to believe that.

To: Sephy, Sebastian, Daphne, John
Sure thing, Seph. I'm driving tonight. Anyone need a ride?

Even still, as he finished eating and hurried to get dressed, he didn't want to chance anything. If anything happened, he didn't want to feel like he simply abandoned Persephone at any point.

Sienna tapped her foot impatiently. She was perhaps a tad bit excited - no, she was really excited. As far as she was concerned, they were all seniors and this was their last Kiss On The Lips party. It had to be great - it needed to be. As she sat waiting for Vivienne to come downstairs, she browsed through her phone, smirking at pictures that fans re-tweeted of her, messages from a few celebrity friends, and Gossip Goddess and - wait, what?

Sienna paused, licking her lower lip anxiously as she read the latest post from the Gossip Goddess column. She heard her own breath hitch slightly and her lips become suddenly dry. Secrets? Seriously? Who the hell did this bitch think she was? Intimidating people and insinuating that she knew anything about any of them. It was preposterous! In the back of her mind, she noted that this must have been how Blair Waldorf - oops, correction, Blair Bass - and Serena Humphrey must have felt all those years ago when they were being haunted by an elusive gossiper who knew all of their dirty little secrets. But still...

She was more anxious now and half tempted to empty one of the bottles of champagne on her own. She glanced at Vivienne's building before making a quick decision. She needed a drink. She needed to be around people, not by herself. She hated being by herself. She was left to her own thoughts and her thoughts weren't always the best. They were debilitating and at times, depressing. That was the last thing she needed on a fun night. So, she demanded that Gus hurry to Sydney's apartment and made him promise to return and pick up Vivienne.

To: Viv
Lovely, going ahead 2 Syd's b4 these bottles get warm. Gus is coming 4 u. Srry

It took a good five minutes, but Sienna was soon seeing Gus off with two champagne bottles in her hand and her clutch tucked underneath one of her arms. She walked to the building and smiled at the doorman. Pressing the buzzer for access to Sydney's apartment, Sienna painted on a big smile, practically buzzing with energy.

It was nearing seven when Brody stepped out of the shower to find a group text message from Sephy waiting for him. Jake, Bastion and Daphne had replied to it, with Bastion saying he had his own ride and Jake offering to give a ride to the rest of them. If Brody hadn't already agreed to go with Sydney, he would have happily taken up their offer. He hadn't been able to get in more than a few quick words with all of them that morning and once he got to the party, he doubted that he would be able to socialize with them much anyways. It would have been nice to ride there with him but he wasn't going to cancel his plans with Sydney, especially after getting her to invite Sephy and then inviting Kaitlin and Lacey without even telling her.

To: Sephy Soung, Bastion Arendale, Daphne Peterson, Jake Desai
Sydney and her friends are picking me up on the way so I'm good. If anyone needs a ride, I'm sure she won't mind if you come.

Brody knew that Sydney definitely would mind if he brought some of them along, but he wanted to be polite and thought that especially if Jake had already offered to drive, they would prefer his ride anyway. After texting them back, he figured he would share their plans with Lacey in case she needed a ride. He wasn't going to push his luck anymore by offering her a ride with Sydney, since he knew with the bad blood between the two girls, that would be going too far.

To: Lacey Porter
You still coming tonight? Jake's driving some of the others if you need a ride. I'm going with Sydney and her friends or else I'd offer to pick you up ;).

As he got dressed, heremembered that although he had mentioned the party to Kaitlin at school that day, he had never actually sent her the details on it like he had said. He instantly felt bad, thinking that she would feel like he purposely blew her off, so he sent her a quick Facebook message, not having gotten her number.

To: Kaitlin Kingsley
Hey, sorry for not messaging you sooner. If you still want to come tonight, here's the info. Just tell them that I invited you if anyone asks :).

Brody knew to expect Sydney soon, so after he got dressed, he poured himself a glass of water and sat at the kitchen table. He was surprised with himself for actually being nervous about the night. It was going to be one of the biggest parties of the year and he was sure it would be fun, but he wasn't in the mood to deal with any drama and after inviting three girls against Sydney's will, even if she had allowed Sephy, he felt like something was going to go wrong. It always did.

The Gossip Goddess post did worry Jane but when she heard the intercom in Sydney's apartment going off, she jumped off the bed with a smile. She assumed that it was Sienna and Vivienne and without waiting for Sydney's permission, she left the room to buzz them in. Rather than return to Sydney's room while they came up, she waited by the door and before long, Sienna appeared. Vivienne wasn't with her but Jane was more focused on the two bottles that she was carrying.

"I love you," she said with a squeal, giving her a quick hug before helping herself to one of the bottles. "Sydney's in her room. Where's Viv?" she asked, stepping away from the doorway and heading into Sydney's kitchen. Jane had grown up with Sydney and felt at home in her house, especially when they were there alone. She made a beeline for the cabinets and after finding champagne glasses, she filled three of them. Sienna had mentioned in her text that she would be arriving with Vivienne so Jane was surprised that five minutes later, she arrived without the blonde. However, she knew that Viv was just as fashion-obsessed as the rest of them so Jane figured that she must have had a last-minute wardrobe malfunction or something that put her behind schedule. She couldn't imagine that she would blow off the party.

When she looked back at Sienna, she got the full glimpse of her outfit and smiled in approval. "You look so hot, I'm jealous. When Sydney leaves her room, I'm stealing a pair of her heels. There's no way I'm wearing these ugly flats to the first party of the year, especially if you're wearing heels too!"

Jane downed the first glass pretty quickly and refilled hers just as soon, knowing that if Sydney knew she was already on her second glass, she would make a big deal out of it. She had spent the summer sober so even the bubbly champagne tasted different than she remembered. She was unsure if she would be able to drink straight liquor right away and even though the champagne would be good enough to give her a buzz, she was craving the hard liquor. It was a surefire way to suppress any unwanted nerves.

"Syd! Sienna's here!" Jane eventually shouted when Sydney hadn't appeared from her room. She took a seat on one of the stools in front of the island in the kitchen and looked back at Sienna. "Turn on music and catch me up on what I missed this summer. Or are we already running late?" She tilted her head back and looked down the empty hallway before calling out to Sydney again. "What time is the limo picking us up?!"

Part of Jane felt like she should text Bastion and say something simple and nice just to make sure that he wasn't actually upset with her, but it seemed easier to just avoid the whole subject of talking with him for as long as possible. At least until the alcohol starts to work its magic.

Sydney hadn't seen the new Gossip Goddess post, but she tried to act uninterested when Jane brought it up and didn't respond. She was standing in front of her mirror, examining herself but her eyes did drift to look at her friend's worried expression that was focused on her cell phone. It sparked Sydney's curiosity but not a moment later, their doorbell went off, signaling that someone was attempting to gain access to the apartment. "Answer that?" she said to Jane, not bothering to step away from her mirror as she fixed her makeup.

By the time that she turned around, Jane was gone, and Sydney took the opportunity to get to the infamous Gossip Goddess blog and read the post that Jane had been talking about. The post should have worried her since Sydney was one of the people who was carrying a heavy secret, but she didn't think there was any way that the post was directed towards her and was almost glad that one more person was talking about her party. She noticed that she also had a text message from Sienna saying that she would be there soon, which was obviously from a few minutes ago since Jane was now shouting to let her know that Sienna had arrived. She pretended not to hear Jane's shouts and continued to check the messages on her phone. Most were from younger girls asking if there was any way they could come, but Sydney promptly deleted them and put her phone and a few other necessities into a clutch before finally walking out to the girls.

She and Jane had already popped open one of the bottles of champagne, but that wasn't surprising. What caught her attention was that Vivienne was missing. Truthfully, she wasn't very concerned with where Viv was or why she wasn't there, but more with the fact that she was going to have to arrive with just Sienna and Jane. The two tended to clique up when they were drinking and with one less person there, it meant that she would have to talk to Sienna even more. It wasn't a hard thing to do, especially since everyone at the party besides Vincent thought they were the best of friends, but now reflecting on the Gossip Goddess post, it didn't seem ideal. However, there was nothing that she could do now, so she put on a smile as she approached them.

"Who are you wearing? That dress is gorgeous!" she said, looking Sienna up and down before taking a seat next to Jane. "We have like... ten minutes until we have to go and then we're picking Brody up on the way. Is Viv meeting us there or something?" Sydney asked, hoping that she would be. She then turned and spoke directly to Sienna. "I was thinking earlier, and I just wanted to make sure that you're okay with me inviting Vincent. I don't want to make you uncomfortable but the club we rented is big so I doubt you'll even run into him," she said sweely, although her smile was insincere. It was an unnecessary comment to make, especially when tonight was supposed to be about the start of a new and fresh year, but Sydney couldn't help herself. She also didn't know that Sienna knew that she was the one who was involved in ruining her and Vincent's relationship, so that egged her on too. "I just didn't feel right inviting his friends and not him, you know?"

"I know," Sienna replied as Jane declared her love, though she suspected it had more to do with the two bottles Jane was currently scurrying away with. Shaking her head in amusement, Sienna walked further into the apartment and closed the door behind herself, checking her phone for more texts from Vivienne. A small frown tugged at the corners of her mouth. Yes, Vivienne was one who loved fashion. Hell, she loved it more than Sienna. After all, Sia would be the one to walk out in sweats at the drop of a dime, which probably wasn't so bad now that she was the face for the new line Young & Reckless. But still, why was it taking her so long? Sienna didn't like coming around Sydney without her best friend. She needed some kind of barrier between herself and her friend, if that made any type of sense. And Jane? Sweet Jane? She could hardly protect herself against their wrath.

Sucking it up, she followed Jane into the kitchen and took one of the glasses of champagne she had filled. Too busy in her own thoughts, she didn't respond to the question about Vivienne nor did she acknowledge that Sydney was still in her room. It wasn't like Sienna cared that much. All she could think about was secrets and the fact that her best friend wasn't here. Again, Sienna is not the type to need anyone to come and rescue her. She hates that feeling, like she needs someone to take care of her and do for her. Perhaps it contrasts against the romantic in her, but Sienna could hardly care in moments like these. The point of the matter was that she needed a distraction for tonight and her number one distraction was currently not here. So, she would have to settle on Jane. For now.

"Please, you look amazing! If I swung that way, even I would bang you!" Sienna joked and sipped more of the champagne. To be completely honest, although she had been quite adamant earlier about having fun whether Sydney wanted her to or not - which she probably was still going to do - some part of her didn't want to. In fact, she Sienna was half-tempted to say fuck it and go back home, tail between her legs. But then...that was just one post GG didn't need to make about her and one more thing that Sydney Vale did not have to hold over her head. Sienna didn't understand why Sydney was plaguing her thoughts so early into the night. They didn't even clash much today; they were actually somewhat civil. So why was she feeling so uneasy?

Obediently and in need of it, Sienna found one of the stereo systems she recalled seeing in Sydney's apartment once before and turned it on. Bruno Mars was playing and damnit, she loved him! So, she enjoyed the heavy thrum of the speakers as the music vibrated on her skin. Sienna grinned as she walked back to Jane.

"Let's see - I became the new face of Young & Reckless, I visited Monaco with Vivienne and brought her with me to California, I won an award for the Teens Choice Award Show, went to Comic Con, performed at the iHeart Radio concert, and I might have made out with Stephen R. McQueen from TVD, but you gotta sssshhhhhh!" She winked about the last part. Sienna couldn't remember if she had ever brought it up to Jane, but at one point she had been in love with The Vampire Diaries. Well, at least until plot holes became a thing and the love triangle was dragged on. However, if she were to ever watch now, it would only be for Stephen R. McQueen's cute eyes and abs. Maybe Paul Wesley's acting, maybe. But definitely for those muscles. Sienna giggled a little at the memory and would have started asking Jane about her summer had Sydney not made her presence known.

"Alexander McQueen, surprisingly," Sienna answered and took another sip of her champagne. It was obvious her enthusiasm for the night was dying. She should have been on her third drink or at least the second like Jane. She smiled in a hopefully cheerful manner. She ran a hand though her thick hair. "My mom picked it out and it was to die for! And I text Viv but she didn't answer. Probably still trying to find the right shoe for this dress she found. I sent my driver back to pick her up and more than likely, she'll get him to take her there directly. I'll text her to make sure." Sienna quaffed the remainder of her champagne, set the glass down and sent a quick text to Vivienne of those plans.

To: Viv
IDK what u doin, but we'll be heading out soon. Get Gus to drop you off, k?

Sienna had just finished sending the text off when she finally let Sydney's words wash over her and pretended like she was still looking at her phone. Why? Why would Sydney bring up Vincent now - when they were actually supposed to have a good night and not worry about any drama? It wouldn't really be Sienna's world without some kind of drama in it, but damnit, they had done pretty damn good without having it in their circle. At least, not as much as they probably could if Sienna and Sydney would just duke it out. She could feel herself wanting to lunge - to say fuck it and do what she wanted three years ago. Punch Sydney in the face. But she didn't. Instead, Sienna put her phone back in her clutch, poured herself another glass of champagne, and delicately held it in her hands, meeting Sydney's gaze levelly.

"Honey, puh-lease!" She exclaimed, waving a careless hand as if the mention of Vincent wasn't any of her concern. Not that the name didn't. Oh God, just hearing his name pop up in a random conversation could have her heart skipping a beat. Not that she had ever told Jane or Sydney that. "It's not like I'm gonna hop all over him and declare some undying love or anything! That's like, so three years ago" Perhaps that was overdramatic, but if that was the game her body was going to play, then so be it. Sienna stood, the sudden need to move on her mind. She traipsed over to the stereo and turned the music back down. They would be leaving soon anyway.

She should have just left it there. But some part of her needed to pay Sydney back for that comment - for a lot of things. And it was petty, but then again, their whole we're-besties-but-not-besties façade was petty too, so what was new. She turned around slowly, staring directly at Sydney's eyes. There was a smile on her face, one that should appease Jane enough to make the brunette laugh. But her eyes - eyes that could be considered a light brown - had darkened. They were cold as she admonished her sometimes friend as she spoke with a hint of cold playfulness, "And if anyone is still ready to wrap their legs around Vincent Mast's waist, they're obviously not worth anyone's time." Sienna even laughed to dispel the animosity, but she was aware of one thing:

Sydney would get the message.

Sydney sipped the champagne that Jane had poured from her and smiled at Sienna's first comment. She felt like she had successfully gotten under her skin, especially since she did feel like Sienna still had underlying love, or at least some type of affection, towards Vincent still. As happy as she was with Sienna's reaction, she soon had the tables turned on her when Sienna referenced how useless anyone who gave Vincent the time of day was.

She raised an eyebrow, truly surprised at what Sienna had said. There was no way that she could have meant that directly towards her, since she and Vincent had both sworn to never speak of her involvement in their breakup, but why would she say that? Even if she wanted to believe that Sienna couldn't have meant anything deep by it, she could play that game as well. "You're right, he is so three years ago," Sydney commented, matching Sienna's smile and cold glare. Although she kept her composure, especially since Jane was there, she was internally freaking out.

The champagne wasn't going to hit her system fast enough so Sydney drifted away from the island and to her grandfather's liquor cabinet. It was stocked with top-shelf liquor which she sifted through until she found a bottle of Absolut Vanilla. She took only one painless shot, despite her desires to down three of them, before setting the bottle on the counter. Although she wanted a buzz, she wasn't going to get wasted tonight. She needed to be on top of her game in case something went down and judging by the vibes of the night so far, something would.

"Have so-" she began to offer Jane and Sienna some of the vodka but the apartment buzzer interrupted her. Sydney figured that it was Vivienne, but as she headed to the intercom box and asked who it was, it was the doormen letting them know that their driver was waiting outside.

"Ready girls?" she asked, grabbing her clutch from the counter and heading for the door. She waited for the two to go out in front of her and lagged behind as they walked out into the brisk night air. Before stepping into the limousine, she texted Vincent and then Brody.

Jane finished her second glass of champagne and poured a third as she listened to Sienna describe her summer. She was insanely jealous of the amazingly eventful few months that her friend was describing. Vacations, award shows, business deals and hooking up with celebrities certainly trumped being trapped in a treatment facility in Oregon for two months. While her friends were downing fruity cocktails, she was being forced to drink Ensure. While they socialized with some of the hottest guys on the planet, she was sobbing to a therapist about how she would rather kill herself than put on the ten pounds they insisted she needed. She knew spending the summer working on her own health was the best choice she could have made but she hated the fact that she had to deal with it in the first place. If she could just be happy with the way she looked, none of this would have happened, but then again, Jane knew very well that this was rooted deeper than just vanity.

As soon as Sienna finished speaking, Sydney appeared. She instantly began conversing with Sienna about her outfit and what was going on with Vivienne, before making an unexpected comment about Vincent coming to the party. Since Sienna and Vincent had split during freshman year, there had been countless events that they had both attended. It would be hard for them to just cut Vincent out but Sienna never seemed to make a big deal about it, especially since she had hooked up a few guys since then too. It seemed unnecessary for Sydney to bring him up when the night was just beginning but as Sienna had reminded her earlier, it was hard to understand why Sydney did half of what she did. All that Jane knew was that she probably wasn't saying it with good intentions.

She focused her attention back on her third drink once the comment seemed to blow over. Jane didn't pick up on the hidden digs that the girls seemed to be exchanged and laughed at Sienna's final comment. "I'll drink to that," she chimed in cheerfully. "We're going to meet our Prince Charming's this year, Sia. I seriously, like, feel it in my bones." Three glasses of champagne was enough to give Jane a good buzz and she was sure that Sydney would have arranged for there to be an open bar at the club, but when Sydney pulled out the bottle of vodka, she couldn't help herself. Once she disappeared to see who was buzzing in, she poured herself a shot and downed it quickly before holding the bottle out for Sienna. "One shot for good luck?" she offered with a grin, feeling more at ease now that the alcohol was kicking in.

Sydney soon returned and told them it was time to leave, so Jane grabbed her clutch and was the first one out the door. She forgot to get the heels that she had been determined to steal earlier, but it was probably for the best considering that at this rate, by the end of the night she probably wasn't going to be able to stand straight in flats, and even less so in heels. "We have like two minutes to get into a good mood before Mr. Fun Police gets in and kills our vibes," she said, referencing Brody, to Sienna once they got into the car.

Vincent was ready to go when Colin texted him, so it only took him a minute or two to meet him outside in the cab. He was curious and definitely surprised about Colin's reference to some girl they had to pick up on the way to the party, and he didn't hesitate to ask about it. "What the hell was that text about? Don't tell me that Chelsea girl texted you too asking if she could 'be your date'. Man, the rack looks good but trust me, she's not worth it. I slept with her last year and after two weeks of nonstop calls from her, I was seriously considering getting a restraining order." He shook his head at the thought of the girl. Vincent was rarely picky when it came to girls but he preferred one night stands to deep relationships. He had only had one girlfriend, Sienna, and that obviously didn't end well.

Just as the thought of their breakup crossed his mind, he received a text from Sydney telling him that they needed to talk at the party. A smirk appeared on his face, thinking that she was obviously ready for round two with him, but he wasn't sure if he would actually take her up on it. At least not at a party that Sienna would definitely be at too. Sydney was still unaware that he had told Sienna that it was her who he had slept with while they were dating and Vincent didn't want Sydney to ever find out. It was one cat fight that he wasn't interested in witnessing.

To: Sydney Vale
I knew you'd get bored with Brody ;). We'll be there in 20.

It took only a few minutes to arrive in front of John's lavish apartment building. Vincent paid for the cab and a couple of minutes later, they were entering John's apartment. It was apparent that his family wasn't home, much to Vincent's dismay. Anyone with eyes would agree that John's mom was a MILF and his sister wasn't half bad looking herself.

"John, thanks for having us as always," Vincent said with a grin as they entered his kitchen. He spotted the bottles of liquor that he had requested he buy for them and helped himself to a shot of whiskey served neat. "Colin's going to try to snag Jane tonight, so who are you going after. Give me her name and I'll let you know what kind of shit she's into," he said, downing the first drink and moving on to his second. He didn't intend on getting wasted tonight but a comfortable buzz would be good enough.

Sienna's next laugh was a little bit more genuine for Jane's sake and she hoped that the underlying insincerity reached Sydney Vale with a vengeance. Even as Jane toasted to her jab about girls who slept with Vincent - even as she sipped her champagne after a mock toast herself - the grin on her face spoke volumes. You see, in Sienna's mind, Sydney was the queen. Sienna had come to terms with that back in freshman year, back when they were still genuinely friends and yeah, Sydney annoyed her but Sia loved her anyway. So, she accepted the fact that Sydney held the throne and allowed her to do as she pleased. Hell, Sienna still had love for the girl despite the bitterness she held deep in her heart for the betrayal. But at that moment, when she realized that her words had obviously affected Sydney in some way, she was disgustingly pleased. After all, the queen was not always the only one who could wage war. And if Sydney wanted to try her tonight, she better be ready for fall-out because Sienna was pretty sure this queen did not want to get knocked off her throne.

Literally.

Sienna's smile turned soft and adoring when Jane spoke again about this being the year for them to find their "prince charming," even though she was internally thinking over her words to Sydney earlier. To be completely honest, despite how flippantly she spoke about not having feelings for Vincent anymore, there was just one problem: she did. Oh, get enough drinks in her, be Lyric or Vivienne, and she would spill it all. Yes, she could have a crush on Carter and date as many celebrity or non-celebrity guys as possible. At the end of the day, it wasn't their pictures she would randomly decide to look at when she was alone with herself and thoughts she shouldn't have. It was Vincent's. The saying that 'you never get over your first' never rang so true as it did now. Her smile almost dropped at the thought. Almost.

"Well, whoever this prince is needs to hurry up. Tired of settling for these peasants," Sienna remarked and finished her glass of champagne just as Sydney walked out to check the buzzer. Still, even when half of her thoughts were depressing, the other half were filled with nothing but triumphant bliss. Serves a bitch right, she thought with a smirk. She turned just in time to see Jane sneaking a shot and well, who was Sienna to turn down her first real drink for the night. She practically hopped over to where Jane was. "Hell yeah!" She put her champagne glass down, poured herself a shot, and threw it back. A biting thrill clawed it's way down her esophagus before settling in her stomach where warmth spread to her very core. Sienna felt just a little better, as if this liquid courage could somehow keep her stable for the rest of the night despite the actual side effects it did have. Perhaps this was why most people discouraged alcoholic beverages, the sudden need for them at times causing an addiction that was difficult for some to overcome. Somehow, one starts to need it - like need it and until there's nothing left of you but a ghost and empty bottles all around. The thought was depressing and totally against what she wanted alcohol to do and Sienna was half-tempted to grab another shot when Sydney came back and told them it was time to go.

Sienna was still somewhat on her guard as they walked to the limousine. Sydney walking behind them was just a little out of character as Sienna glanced over her shoulder, she could see the blonde queen texting someone on her phone. Probably Brody, maybe even Vincent. Either way, she could tell she had shaken Sydney in some fashion and was beyond satisfied. Sienna sulked for a second at the mention of Brody as they entered the vehicle and purposefully, kept herself in a manner where she was still near Sydney. After all, they were supposed to appear as best friends, right? "Speaking of, you never did tell us about what's going on between you Mr. Goody Two Shoes, love. What brought you in? The eyes? His virginal purity?" Okay, that jab was probably slightly harsh, but Sienna kept her voice light and playful because she was joking and she was very much interested in when did that start. Just as she was about to inquire more, her phone buzzed and Sienna hoped that it was Vivienne as she hurried to pull it out of her clutch. Only for it to be a text...from John?

Pursing her lips lightly, Sienna glanced at Jane imperceptibly (hopefully) before reading the text over. She was very much aware that Colin had a very adorable crush on Jane. It was pretty much the sweetest thing in the world to her. Yet, there was also the matter of getting Jane to reciprocate said feelings. Not that she wanted to speak bad of a friend, but everyone knew Jane could be...selective, that being the operative word, when it came to her guys. And yes, Colin was attractive but it was hard to say, sometimes, when it came to whether or not Jane would actually want him. But Sienna didn't want to be pessimistic either. Anything could happen.

Also, Vincent was there and Sienna glanced at Sydney's face from the corner of her eye before lowering her gaze to actually type out a response.

To: John
Sure, if he gets enough drinks in her lol. No, but seriously. C wants her? He needs to do something about it. Man up and just be upfront about it. Otherwise, he's stuck in the friendzone. End of story. Also, tell your friend that a little birdy decided to play a game and I might have hurt her little feelings. You know which friend; it's the one we weren't just talking about. He will understand. See you in a bit!

It was a much longer text than she normally does and John would probably more than likely feel a tad bit confused by it, but he would more than likely also give it to whom she needed it to go. As she sat back and crossed one smooth leg over the other, some part of her wanted to feel bad about their little tiff earlier. She had started the day off thinking about this being their last year and it being a good one. And then, like a damn, shit started pouring out, past animosities and full-blown jealousy - yes, she was a big girl, so she could admit it - pushing past the civil bitchiness the two girls were used to. Sienna wasn't always like this, particularly vindictive for no real reason. Well, there was a reason and everyone knew she had this side to herself, but she didn't normally act on it. Not this blatantly or mercilessly, but that GG post had her on edge and Sydney really struck her earlier. Besides, Sydney wasn't the only queen in this limousine. And this one was the queen of drama - there was no way in hell she was going to back down.

Sydney was the last to take a seat in the limo and a moment after the driver shut the door behind her, they pulled off. Sydney pressed the button to bring the privacy partition down halfway and reminded him to stop at Brody's apartment before raising it back up and returning her attention to Sienna and Jane. Sienna had sat next to her which normally wouldn't have caused her to react much but after the earlier comment, Sydney was becoming more suspicious of Sienna's motives. Her thoughts returned to the Gossip Goddess post and for a few seconds, she was convinced that Sienna was the anonymous blogger behind it all. Everyone knew that she survived off of drama and Sydney thought that her comment and the theme of the post seemed to be related. However, she didn't think Sienna was smart enough to pull off something like that, but in case there was any truth in the theory, Sydney decided that she needed to find out some dirt on her. If Sienna was, in fact, preparing for war, Sydney wasn't going to arrive unarmed.

Jane must have made some comment about Brody because Sienna was now agreeing and asking her what was going on between the two of them. Sydney rolled her eyes and shook her head, trying to act unamused with their quips but a smile pulled at her lips and it eventually won over. They could make as many jokes as they wanted about how straightedge Brody appeared to be but at least she had a boy who stuck by her side. It was obviously a quality that Sienna didn't possess and even Jane, who she was preferring tonight more than ever, didn't have a boy with her.

"It's hard to find a good guy in Manhattan who's faithful and hot. You girls know that." Or at least you know that, Sienna. She knew that Sienna knew about unfaithfulness just as well as she did. In fact, she knew more on the subject that Sydney knew her to, since she had to deal with a lying boyfriend and lying best friend. After a pause, Sydney decided that they were looking for more of an explanation than that. Although outsiders might have seen her interactions with Brody as being genuine, those who knew her well, like Jane and Sienna, could clearly tell that she would have said more on the subject if she was really interested in him. "It's not like we're dating or anything. He's more of an accessory when I don't want to show up somewhere alone," she admitted. Although it probably sounded wrong, she felt like Brody was on the same page as her. They both knew that whatever relationship they had wasn't going to go anywhere but it was good enough for the time being, when they needed dates to social events. Although she had no deep feelings for him, that didn't mean that she was going to let anyone else hookup with him. No, not until she officially ended it, and Sydney wasn't planning on doing that until she had a new boy to move on to.

She didn't mind confessing the lack of sincerity in their relationship to her girlfriends, even if she didn't exactly trust Sienna at the moment, but she didn't want anyone else to know that. After Brody's little display of affection with that Persephone girl and him wanting to invite her, she was going to make sure any girl that came onto him knew that he was taken. Or at least reserved for the time being.

When the car came to a gentle stop, Sydney sent Brody a text message saying that they were waiting for him. Before he arrived, she turned to the girls and gave them a warning look. "Play nice," she chided, before the door opened and Brody appeared. "Hey babe," she greeted in a way that was identical to nearly every other boy she expressed interest in. "You look cute. I told you that you would look good in that," she said, leaning over to kiss him once he had sat down. "Doesn't he look sexy, girls?" she said, turning back to her friends and once again giving them a serious look.

Sienna positively tittered when Sydney commented on faithfulness and hotness in Manhattan guys. The laugh burst forth, her plump lips parted and the dim lights of the limousine brightened her otherwise darkened eyes. She loved playing this bitchy persona. She almost understood why Sydney did it on a regular basis. It was exhilarating really, a test in a way. It was a battle of wits and hidden meanings that left her insides churning with excitement. She would regret it in the morning, she knew that. As much as Sienna loved drama and all things above-the-norm, she never did like it when it was in her immediate circle. Which was why she was willing to play civil with Sydney in front of the others. But that post had her wary of Sydney and her unwanted feelings of insecurity and jealousy were just eating away at the very fragile line of their friends-yet-enemies relationship.

Even though she felt the impact of Sydney's words, she couldn't help but play it off. She uncrossed and crossed her legs, leaning her head back as if contemplating Sydney's statement. Then she smirked, a dark one at that filled with mischief, lightheartedness, and sinister mirth. "I know, right? They're always chasing after these trashy bimbos! It's horrible, really. They have pretty much the best and they downgrade. It's disappointing, but I digress." Sienna paused before meeting Sydney's gaze again, a wider grin playing at the corners of her mouth. Before Sydney could mutter one more response, Sienna was already by Jane's side and listened to Sydney explain the actual details of her relationship with Brody. It made more sense. Brody wasn't really Sydney's type, anyway. Sienna wasn't fooled.

"Please tell me you met some kind of hottie this summer," Sienna inquired, now looking at Jane. "After all, not all," she glanced at Sydney before returning her gaze to Jane, "could be so lucky." Wherever this cattiness was coming from, Sienna would never be able to tell you, but it truly was a magnificent thing. She felt like she had power at this moment, not that Sydney's being Queen Bitch ever depleted any of the actual power Sienna possessed. But Sydney kept making cuts at Sienna's self-esteem and self-worth that she hardly - if ever - spoke to the blonde about and Sienna couldn't help but retaliate.

For a moment, she didn't say anything - just concentrated on Jane and the actual curiosity she had over Jane's lack of communication over the summer and the fact that the brunette had yet to say anything of it. She ignored Sydney's order to 'play nice' when they were at Brody's place and raked her fingers through her hair, watching the male as he entered the vehicle. Her face was stoic as Sydney spoke to him and not even an inch of emotion crept to her face when Sydney asked their opinion. Sienna's eyes raked over Brody's form (she was beginning to think that perhaps the alcohol really was fueling her today), took a long look at Sydney's face, and then turned back to stare at Brody's eyes. Finally, she smiled.

"Yeah, definitely sexy," she replied. "You almost look good enough to eat, Brody." After a beat, Sienna shook her head, chuckling before straightening up and giving Brody a sheepish grin. "No, but really. How was your summer? Do anything spectacular?"

Jane could tell that something was up between Sydney and Sienna. She was used to both of them making catty comments about the other, but it mostly occurred behind the other's backs. Tonight, they were laughing and smiling, so if she was only watching and not listening to them, she probably wouldn't have been alarmed. However, they were in a nonstop banter where each comment seemed sharper than the next. Jane wasn't sure what they were trying to hint at, but the tension alone was alarming enough. It was making her wish that she had taken the bottle of vodka with them. "You two are being weird and I need another drink," she said, unsure of how else to phrase it. They were both being nice to each other, at least it seemed that way in the obvious sense, but because she was so used to their being some type of underlying distaste between the two, she wasn't ready to take their exchanges sincerely.

After Sydney explained what her relationship with Brody was really about, Sienna turned to Jane and asked her if she had hooked up with any cute guys that summer. She shook her head quickly and ran her fingers through her dark hair. "I wish," she replied simply, not wanting to delve into the topic any deeper. It seemed easier to just admit that she hadn't hooked up with anyone, since that was the truth, than to come up with some lie about meeting some guy in California. The idea of her spending an entire summer away and not even getting with one guy was probably just as suspicious but it made for one less lie that she would have to remember. She was in luck, anyway, because Sydney quickly warned them to 'play nice' and a moment later, Brody stepped into the car.

Image

After receiving Sydney's text message, Brody left his apartment and found the limousine waiting outside of his building. The driver stepped out and opened the door for him, revealing Sydney, Sienna and Jane. They all looked great but he did notice that Vivienne was missing. He hadn't seen her that day at school but did get a text from her saying she was there, so he just figured that he had missed her in the chaos of all of the greetings.

Sydney and Sienna were seated on one side of the car so Brody slid into the open seat next to Jane, across from them. Sydney was quick to compliment him on his outfit, a reaction that he would expect no less of considering she had texted him multiple times that afternoon to make sure he was wearing exactly what she had picked out for him. Sydney's comments were expected but what caught him off guard was how Sienna agreed with her on how 'sexy' he looked, or maybe the way that she agreed with her. He chuckled, although his eyes flashed towards Sydney to evaluate her reaction. "You ladies clean up well yourselves," he reciprocated. Sienna changed the subject to what he had done over the summer. It was a question they all had probably been asked ten times that morning and after hearing of the spectacular trips that many of his friends had taken, his summer seemed fairly mundane. "I spent most of it at my dad's vineyards in California. Lots of meeting clients, dinner parties... you know how it goes. My sister did text me relentlessly one night in regards to you, actually. Something about you winning some award and how she wanted me to get you to text her to show her friends that she actually knew you," he said with a small laugh.

Eloise was still in middle school and was probably going to attend a high school for the musically talented next year, which Brody was glad about, but it didn't stop her from obsessing over all of the girls who went to Constance. She had been a fan of Sienna even before she knew that Brody was friendly with her, so when she did find out that Sienna was friends with Sydney, she badgered him to no end about inviting her over. Brody had no real problem with Sienna but they weren't close friends. Still, wanting to be a good big brother, he had brought the idea up to Sydney about seeing if Sienna would stop by one day to meet his sister, but Sydney quickly shot that down. She had claimed that Sienna was probably "the worst influence" that Ella could have and although Brody doubted the truth in her remark, he never brought it up again. It didn't stop his sister from asking about the possibility of her hanging out with Sienna every time she knew he was going to be with the singer, though.

Image

Jane wasn't nearly as interested in making conversation with Brody as Sienna was, so she focused on her phone instead. She had earlier decided against texting Bastion but now, with nothing else to do, she felt like she might as well try to make peace before seeing him in person. She was still feeling a bit guilty for blowing him off all summer and then this morning, especially because he was one of the truly genuine friends she had in her life. Still, she wasn't sure if he was the one who had invited Daphne and if he had asked Sydney if she could come, when he knew better than anyone that she disliked the girl, she wasn't going to make an effort with him.

Are you here :)????

It didn't take long for them to pull up in front of the club. Sydney had rented it out for their party for the night but that didn't mean that it looked any less active than it did any other nights. As she stepped out of the car, she could already hear music playing and see the lights flashing inside of the club. "Let's get drinks! I'm going hard tonight and you better too!" was her first comment to Sienna as they stepped out of the car. She didn't spot Seb Jardine or Daphne Peterson, probably because they were a few minutes early, but she was happy for now. The whole vibe that she was getting from the club, mixed with the refreshingly cool air, made her feel like with a few more drinks, things would be fine.

Who does this bitch think she is?! Trashy bimbo? Downgrade? It Vincent was really happy with you, he wouldn't have wanted to upgrade to me. Sorry sweetie, but if Vincent is Brad Pitt, you're Jennifer Aniston and I'm Angelina Jolie.

Sydney was taking Sienna's comments personally but she soon decided that she shouldn't be so sensitive about it. Even if she did fill the role of the girl who Vincent chose over Sienna, Sienna didn't know that. She probably did think that Vincent had slept with some 'trashy' girl. He insisted that he had given her the name of some girl from a rival school as the one he had slept with so it made sense that Sienna would want to bad talk the girl. If she knew it was Sydney, she would realize how understandable it was for Vincent to choose her over Sienna.

Sydney had asked the girls to agree with her that Brody looked good but she hadn't really expected them to do so, or at least not not than a nod and a polite 'yes'. Sienna seemed to continue her brazen streak because she took the compliment to the next level, nearly drooling over Brody in Sydney's eyes. She eyed Sienna as she spoke and then put on a smile. There was no way that she was going to make it known that Sienna was getting under her skin but she also wasn't going to let Sienna think that she could beat her at her own game. Sydney had been the one to start the drama tonight, and three years ago, and she would be the one to finish it too. Maybe not tonight, but when the time was right, she would make sure that Sienna was back in her place.

When Brody told Sienna about how his sister was a fan of hers, Sydney couldn't stop herself from rolling her eyes. The last thing she needed was for Brody to egg Sienna on about how great she was at anything, especially when Sydney had quashed the idea of Sienna meeting Ella before even asking her. "Tell Ella we'll take her to see Beyonce or someone this fall. That should get her mind off of it," she said, leaning closer to Brody although she knew her words were loud enough for the others to hear. Maybe she was being a bit too obvious with her jabs now, but she shrugged it off. If Sienna wanted to play, Sydney was going to bring her A-game.

When the car pulled up in front of the club, Sydney quickly got out. She studied the exterior for a moment, making sure that each bouncer was in place and that everything was organized as she had demanded it to be. When all seemed to meet her expectations, she put on a smile and turned back to Brody, purposely not acknowledging Sienna who Jane was now speaking to. After latching her hand onto his, she pulled him towards the door. "Let's go. I'm ready for a drink."

When John replied saying that he didn't have a specific girl in mind for tonight, Vincent wasn't surprised. While he didn't think that John was a virgin, he also doubted that he had hooked up with many girls. Girls liked confidence and assertiveness and that was something that John lacked. He rarely spoke his mind and always just seemed to let people take advantage of him. It was something that worked to Vincent's advantage, but he doubted that John could really be happy with his social life. However, he came from money and an upper class family, so it seemed like it was more of John's fault than anyone else's that he ended up where he was.

Although he tried not to show it, it did bother him that John was so willing to text Sienna for Colin. Sure, he hadn't dated her for almost three years and it was him who had ruined the relationship, but he still wasn't comfortable with the idea of other guys going after her. It wasn't like John was doing that though, so Vincent wasn't sure why it struck a chord in him. Although he didn't want to think of Sienna tonight, he knew that she would be there. The two crossed paths frequently but big parties like this, where she would be dressed up and drinking, made Vincent realize how much of an idiot he had been even more. He could watch how much fun she had and how other guys swooned over her, but couldn't do anything about it. They were over and always would be, he would reason with himself. She would never come back to him and he wasn't going to ask her to come back and then have to deal with the rejection. Vincent was used to some girls rolling their eyes at him and telling him to get lost, but it would be different if Sienna did it because if he asked her out, it wouldn't be for a no-strings-attached night like all of the other girls. If he ever decided to pursue her again, he knew that he couldn't screw it up. All of that didn't matter though, because Vincent knew there was no use in chasing after Sienna. What they had was over and even if he hadn't been able to do it so far, he was going to have to get over her.

Just as he was finishing up the last of his drink, John suggested that they leave. The party would be starting soon and with an extra stop in midtown to pick up the mystery girl that Colin was bringing, they would probably already be a few minutes late. "Yeah, let's go," Vincent agreed. He followed John out of the building and into the limousine that was waiting for them. "Let's hope that Sydney pulled through and invited some hot chicks who aren't all prudes," he said, pulling his phone back out only to find that she hadn't responded to his earlier message. He guessed that she was probably already at the party and it didn't really require a response anyway. "For your sake, at least, Toranzo. You've gotta start off with an easy one. What about that Soung girl you're always talking to. You sleep with her yet?"

To: Viv, Lyric
Unless you want to wake up to find me on FOX news cuz I murdered this bitch, bring yourselves! NOW!!!

Sienna had on a very cat-like smile when she sent the text, inwardly praying that one of her best friends would actually answer their phones tonight. She almost didn't catch Brody's response to her, she was so far gone. But then some part of her memory stored away his little monologue and she smiled at him, genuinely happy that there was a fan. She always loved her fans. They were mostly so sweet and extremely supportive, especially after she admitted that she had lost inspiration a little bit three years ago. They had made posters, graphics, gave her world-wide tweets, and even made a few YouTube videos that made her cry. She adored these people and while she and Brody weren't the best of friends, there was a little tug on her heart for his sister.

She had become in such a good mood after that one moment that she ignored Sydney's little quip about going to a concert and hummed in agreement. Sienna wasn't going to acknowledge the fact that Sydney was trying to downplay her career. After all, EVERYONE needed to attend at least one Beyoncé concert. Even Sydney. Maybe the bitch could learn a few pointers on class since at this current moment, she just made it all the more evident that Sienna had gotten under her skin. And what was that last comment going to do? Make Sia cry? Bitch please! At least Sienna was making a name for herself; her net worth was larger than Sydney's at this point. Besides, Sydney couldn't control who Sienna talked to or what Brody's sister did. She was the queen of a school, not New York. Sydney's grandfather made her popular, Sienna had fans around the world. So, no, she was not going to award Sydney with even one response. Sienna simply smiled while inwardly anticipating their arrival to the club.

Which didn't take long. As soon as they were out, Jane was practically bouncing with excitement and an endearing smile warmed up Sienna's entire face; even her eyes were back to their normal light hue now near the club in the cool, refreshing air of the night. Sienna sighed and ruffled her hair, smirking to herself as she heard the distant clicking of a few pararazzi. Oh yeah, she forgot she actually tweeted about the party tonight. Oops! Grinning, she turned all of her attention to Jane, not even sparing Sydney or Brody a backward glance. "Hell yeah! Something tells me tonight's gonna be...something." She didn't explain further. Sienna simply flashed a smile at the paparazzi, winked at the bouncer who let them in without faltering, and then headed straight to the bar, pulling Jane right along with her. Jane could be Sydney's best friend later; right now, since Sydney wanted to be all over a guy she didn't truly want, Jane was Sienna's. It surprised her, just a little, that she was showing that possessive side of herself, but Sienna didn't give it that much thought. Something felt finite about tonight and she needed some kind of security until one of her best friends got here. Or, at least until she was drunk enough to forget until tomorrow.

As soon as they got to the bar, Sienna painted on the sweetest smile for the bartender and ordered, "Sex on the beach, please, extra vodka." She glanced back at Jane. "You ordering?" Sienna turned and finally observed the club, eyes resting on the twinkling lights. There was a surprising number of people here already and it was so live. She sighed, glancing back at where they came from with the tiniest of scowls. "I guess tonight's gonna be the night..." She knew Jane wouldn't understand and maybe Sienna was too sober right now because her thoughts were beginning to meld into depressive nothingness, but she could feel it in the air from the second Sydney had made the comment about Vincent.

Shit was about to hit the fan.

Sienna wasn't afraid if she and Sydney fought tonight. Hell, an argument would suffice, but she knew herself. She had held on to resentment for three long years. If Sydney said the wrong thing, Sienna was pretty much sure that the tiny blonde would be on the floor with Sienna on top, punching. She didn't doubt Sydney's fighting skills; she'd seen the claws come out once. However, Sienna wasn't from a family that scratched, pulled hair, and slapped. No, fists came out and she may not have been a fan of violence, but she would damn sure finish this crap tonight if Sydney wanted to go there. But Sienna didn't want to go there. In fact, now that she thought about it (no, she did not regret standing up for herself, let's get that part clear!), she wanted to go back and not be affected by Sydney's little commentary. But after that GG post, she couldn't sit back and not feel attacked, like she hadn't been insulted. She had and Sydney had done it blatantly in front of Jane, at that. It was a fair retaliation, she justified. But still, some people deserved a warning, no matter how much she was upset with him too. Her hand actually shook a little when she pulled her phone out and she hurried up and sent a text before shoving her phone back in her clutch.

"Let's go really hard tonight," Sienna exclaimed, turning back to Jane and waited for her drink to be finished.

To: Vincent
U should probably keep a leash on ur hoes. They get out of place sometimes. We need 2 talk.

The drive to Daphne's place didn't take too long and before they knew it, they were there and Jake sent a quick text to the blonde after he pulled up.

To: Daphne
We're downstairs.

After he put his phone away, Jake mused over the day thus far. He had pretty much had a good time just walking around with friends and re-introducing himself to a few teachers. He ran into a few classmates and connected with a lot of the drama students from both schools, which surprised him because he was pretty much the silent and invisible guy. Sure, he recorded a lot of the school plays and made them into discs so that people could take them home to families or just buy themselves copies. But he had never anticipated that he would actually be remembered in some weird fashion. Part of it had to do with his connection to Sebastian, another to the fact that Sydney Vale was God-sent. And now he was going to one of the most exclusive parties of the year because said God-sent angel invited him. How Jake struck this lucky he will never know.

However, there was also another part of him that was wary about tonight. On one hand, there was the fact that Persephone got a last minute invitation. That alone had Jake on his hackles. It wasn't that he had a problem with Sydney inviting one of his friends. By all means, if she wanted, she could invite all of them all the time and he would worship the ground she walks on. But why? And at the last minute too? Sydney never struck him as a girl who did anything at the last minute, so this left him rather perplexed and even a little anxious for his friend. On the other hand, he was also worried about what could transpire tonight. As much as he had always admired anyone who got invitations to such a highly sought-after event, there was also some kind of drama that occurred at these sort of parties. He remembered the Blair Waldorf; they were all scandalous. And after all of the stuff he had heard about Sydney and that entire popular crew, he knew only hell could freeze over before there wouldn't be any drama...

NO! His mind shouted. Tongith was supposed to be about having fun, making connections, and just doing something different. Not being stuck in the house sulking over what-might-have-been. He didn't want to look back three years from now wondering what-if. He wanted to do. Jake even had to shake his head a little to get back on track and smirked at Persephone. "Tonight's going to be a blast, don't you worry!" He didn't want her anxious too; he knew that she was just as suspicious as he was. But they were meant to have fun and that's what they would do. His smile widened when he finally saw Daphne and he greeted her. "M'lady, your chariot awaits!" When everyone was ready, Jake pulled out and headed to the club, eagerly awaiting the nighttime fun that was sure to come.

The club was alive with good music blasting and lots of people mingling, most with drinks in hand, but Jane didn't expect anything less of Sydney. Each party had to be more extravagant than the last and this would definitely set high standards for the rest of the year's events. Although Jane loved parties, she disliked hosting them. There was so much stress involved in planning everything, and she felt like even after all of the details had been settled, the hostess of the party had to stay sober enough keep everything and everyone in line, and if Jane was going to a party, there wasn't a likely chance that she was staying sober.

With that in mind, it was pleasing to Jane when Sienna agreed with her and they headed straight for the bar. Sienna ordered a Sex On The Beach, a drink that Jane loved as well, but she requested two shots of vodka. She wanted the alcohol but not the unnecessary calories from the rest of the ingredients that went into the mixed drinks, and because she was already feeling a buzz from their pregame, she didn't mind the burn from the alcohol. The bartender probably assumed that she was ordering the shots for her and Sienna, but Jane quickly downed them herself and turned back to Sienna with a grin. The couple of glasses of champagne and three shots so far that night would be catching up to her soon enough and although she didn't order another drink yet, she definitely wasn't going to stop drinking five minutes into the party.

"I'm already going hard, you better catch up!" she said with a smile as she watched Sienna pull out her phone to text someone. "Who are you texting?! I'm right here, the most important person of the night, and no one who isn't here matters tonight," she claimed, not really sure of what she was saying herself. She began to pull on Sienna's arm and although she had no idea where she was going, she knew that she wanted to dance or talk to people or maybe meet a cute guy. Anything that would get her mind off of her own problems and Sienna's off of the drama that had ensued during the car ride. Sienna was always her partner in crime when it came to drunk fun, and Jane needed her even more tonight with Sydney hanging all over Brody.

Most of the people they passed were familiar faces. They either went to Constance or Saint Jude's, or one of the other top private schools in the city, and Jane either knew them personally or had seen them before at past parties. No one they passed caught her attention enough for her to offer more than a "hey!" before she continued on her way.

While she had no real destination in mind, she tried to scope out as much of the main level as possible and was happy to find that she hadn't spotted Seb or Daphne in the crowd. She didn't want to see Daphne for obvious reasons, but would prefer her in a second over Seb. If there was anyone who could ruin her night and really her social life all together, it was him. When "All Night Longer" by Sammy Adams came on, Jane squealed. "Oh my God, this is such a throwback!" She finally released her grip on Sienna's arm but didn't want to leave her side. Even if she was quite happy and confident now that alcohol was coursing through her system, she wasn't drunk enough to feel comfortable with the idea of facing anyone she wanted to avoid without Sienna by her side.

Once Sienna got her drink, she took a long sip, sucking up as much of the sweetened alcoholic beverage as she could in one breath. That was pretty much the entire drink save for about one-third of it. She had laughed a few moments earlier at Jane when she ordered her two shots of vodka. Sienna knew she needed to get on Jane's level, the I-don't-give-a-fuck-about-nothing phase where all either of them cared about was having fun and getting drunk. The two glasses of champagne along with the shot from earlier and this drink would get to her eventually, but not nearly at the same rate that Jane's heavier drinking would. Besides, some part of her wanted to maintain a sort of sobriety, in case shit did go down. She giggled at the small pout on Jane's face over her texting and Sienna surrendered, shoving her phone out of sight.

"Of course, of course," she complied and smiled brightly at her friend. "I am all yours." With that said, she did not protest when Jane practically dragged her through the throng of eager party-goers. Sienna recognized a good number of them; some of the girls were fans and practically squealed. However, unlike the norm where Sienna would stop and take pictures, she could only manage a wave and smile because Jane was on a mission and for what Sienna could not tell. She found herself laughing again when Jane practically squealed and went into ultra-happy/buzzed mode over the Sammy Adams song. It was just a song and she managed a "You're cute!" over the music to Jane who probably was too far gone to hear her at the moment. But even Sienna couldn't deny - she loved this song.

And, well she loved dancing.

After having been dancing since she was seven and with the energy radiating off of Jane, Sienna couldn't help but begin to move to the music, a sort of thrill in her veins while the beams of light danced on the glittering seam of her dress. She was trained and typically broke out into some kind of on-the-spot dance routine that Jane would laugh off, but this wasn't the moment for that. Not now. Not when there was a warmth spreading in her core because of the alcohol she ingested and her energy levels were suddenly skyrocketing. She felt sexy and alive and she was with one of the most exuberant people in the world. What the hell did she need to worry about at this exact moment? Sydney? Brody? Vincent? No! So, Sienna let go, moving freely with the music; her hips rocked and she began fist-pumping to the heavy bass. For now, she could handle this. Everything else can come later.

If Brody hadn't sensed it when he first got in, the tension in the car was definitely evident as they pulled off. He wasn't sure if it was just between Sydney and Sienna or if Jane was involved too, but either way he guessed that his complimentary comment to Sienna probably wasn't appreciated by Sydney, and decided to solely focus his attention on Sydney. He learned earlier that day with Sephy that Sydney didn't take kindly to him even acknowledging other girls in her presence. He hoped that with the masses of people at tonight's party, that he would be able to sneak off for at least a few minutes to talk to his other friends, but he wasn't banking on it. Not with how things seemed to be playing out already tonight.

The first thing that Sydney requested when they got out of the car was for a drink. The only alcohol that Brody ever consumed was his fathers' wine at important parties or dinner when he was at his dad's place, so he didn't intend on ordering any alcoholic drinks for himself at the bar. However, he nodded and took Sydney's hand in his as they entered the club. Sienna and Jane had disappeared within a second of the limousine door opening and although he wasn't sure how well Sydney would take to the two girls who were supposed to be her best friends disappearing without making an entrance with her, it seemed like it was better off for them to separate. The party was only just beginning and if Sienna and Sydney were around each other for any longer, he could only imagine that the tension would build.

"Just a Coke for me," Brody ordered when they reached the bar. He turned to Sydney and smiled, hoping that she would lighten up a bit. "And for my lovely lady?" he asked, waiting for her to order her drink before sipping his own soda. He wasn't sure if Sydney would want to socialize with her guests before dancing and having fun, so he waited to see what she wanted them to do. He couldn't see his own friends in the club yet, so he wasn't in a rush to go find them, but just then, he got a text message from Sephy. He responded quickly, not wanting Sydney to take offense to him not dedicating all of his attention to her, and even more, not wanting her to see that it was Sephy who he was texting.

To: Sephy Soung
Yeah, I'm by the bar with Syd. Come say hi when you get here!

Vincent read the text that Sienna had sent John. It was vague enough where John probably would have no idea what or who they were referring to, but it didn't take Vincent more than a second to know that the "little birdy" she was referring to was Sydney. Although that part was clear, he wasn't sure how Sienna had managed to hurt Sydney's feelings. Part of him wanted to know the details, especially if Sienna was warning him about it, since that probably meant he was involved. What guy wouldn't be interested in the fact that two of the hottest girls in school were possibly going to duke it out over him? It was a total turn on but he knew that this situation would end up being messier than he wanted. Both of the girls had mastered the art of underhanded digs and cutthroat drama and when their claws came out, it sometimes even scared Vincent.

He tried to mask his concern and after giving John his phone back, tried to remember what his friend had just said about Persephone. "Dude, you can't let Brody Wade get in your way. That kid's the biggest prick in Manhattan. You'd be doing her a favor anyway by getting her first. She won't be stuck dealing with such a fucking bore and Sydney won't put a hit out on her," he said. He had hung out with Sydney over the summer and knew that her relationship with Brody was nothing more than an act but even so, he was sure that her territorial side would come out if she knew that anyone else had interest in Brody, even though she didn't even herself. It was how she was. Even if she didn't want someone, she didn't want anyone else to have them either.

Before long, they were in midtown waiting in front of Colin's building. He was still preoccupied with the possibilities of what had gone on between Sienna and Sydney but he couldn't pass up the opportunity of a new girl. She slid into the car and tried to make small talk but Vincent was more interested in checking her out than listening to what she was saying. She had very light skin and although Vincent usually preferred a girl with a nice tan, she wasn't half bad looking. In fact, he was sure that he would end up hooking up with her within the next few weeks, if not tonight.

"Anything that can be celebrated, is celebrated in Manhattan," Vincent responded, his charming smile appearing on his face as he extended a hand towards her. "Colin never mentioned having a gorgeous neighbor so you must be new here. I'm Vincent Mast." He wanted to continue to talk to Kaitlin but his attention was redirected to his phone. He saw that he had two unread messages: one from Sydney, telling him that they needed to talk, and not surprisingly, another from Sienna with the same message plus an amusing comment about what he assumed to be related to her fight with Sydney. Since they were so close to the club, Vincent decided against replying since he would be seeing both girls in only minutes.

"I have a few things to take care of, but I'll see you all around," Vincent said to Colin and John once they stepped out. Before entering the club, he leaned over to John and muttered, "If that Persephone chick doesn't work out, you've always got her as plan b." As always, his name was on the guest list and he was allowed entry into the party without a hitch.

Although he wanted to speak to Sienna more than Sydney, he ended up stumbling upon Sydney and Brody at the bar and had no choice but to say hello. However, since she was with Brody, he saw it as a good opportunity to just offer a greeting and not deeply discuss whatever it was that Sydney wanted to talk about. "You never cease to amaze, Syd," he said, stepping up behind her just as he heard Brody asking her what drink she wanted. "She'll take a Tequila Sunrise," Vincent said to the bartender. For one, he knew that it was Sydney's go-to drink and secondly, he just wanted to use the opportunity to show up Brody. He order a Rum & Coke for himself and a Sex on the Beach drink for Sienna, who was his next stop after the drinks were made. She wasn't with Sydney or at the bar, and Vincent hadn't seen her in the front of the club so he made his way towards the dance floor and not surprisingly, he spotted her dancing with Jane.

An authentic smile appeared on his face as he watched her for a minute before approaching. "I got your text and figured you could use a drink," he said with a grin as he handed her the cup. He had a feeling that she had already had a few drinks, and Jane probably a few more than her. "Can I steal you for a few minutes to talk?" Sienna had been the one who had specified the need to talk but Vincent wasn't sure if she wanted to do it here, where they would have to shout over the loud music, and with Jane right there. As he glanced back over at Jane, he was now sure that she was already drunk and with it being only a few minutes into the party, he doubted that she would remember anything that they said tomorrow morning, but he still didn't know if it would be a good idea to talk in front of her.

It was reassuring when John confirmed that Sienna said he had a chance with Jane tonight, but it also put more pressure on him. If she had been with someone, he would have had at least a few more days to get his act together but after three years, Colin doubted that a couple more days would be significant enough to alter how nervous he always got in the girl's company.

He didn't have much time to worry about it because within a few minutes, they had picked up Kaitlin and were at the club. The ride with her was fairly awkward, mostly because none of them knew her at all, but Vincent flirted with her and it was enough to minimize the awkward silence to a bearable amount. "Yeah, no problem. Don't worry about it," Colin assured her when she thanked them for giving her a ride.

When Vincent turned his attention away from Kaitlin and to his phone, Colin felt obligated to talk to her. John's glassy and bloodshot eyes were a giveaway to Colin, who was also a smoker, that he was high, so he wasn't counting on him for any worthwhile conversation. "So, how do you know Sydney? It took me a good six months for her to ever invite me to any of her parties and even now she still acts like she doesn't know who I am, so you've obviously got something going for you if you got an invite on your first day of knowing her," he said with a laugh. He really was surprised that Kaitlin got a coveted invitation to this party but part of him still felt like maybe she didn't have an invitation and his mother was putting him into a tight spot.

As soon as the limousine stopped, Vincent separated from their group and disappeared into the club. Colin allowed John and Kaitlin to get out before him and followed them to the door, nearly praying that Kaitlin would be able to get in. If she wasn't on the guest list, what was he supposed to do? Leave her there and have his mother kill him when he got home, and also feel immensely guilty every time he saw Kaitlin again? Go home with Kaitlin and ruin his night, or beg Sydney to let her in? None of the options seemed ideal.

Sienna had not been aware when the original song she and Jane were dancing to had changed. They had become so in synch that she hardly could care less if Iggy Izalea started playing, whose music she was not a fan of. But she did become aware when one of her favorite songs came on - it was when she spotted Vincent from the corner of her eyes. Jessie J's Bang Bang blasted clearly from the speakers and instead of the earlier go-wild attitude she had earlier, Sienna's eyes were trained specifically on her ex at the bar. She had not even noticed when Sydney and Brody made their way into the club and now, she was watching that area like a hawk.

Figures! She thought. Even if she looks taken, he can't resist. Sienna shook her head, hips still moving to the beat of the song she had declared as her theme song for this semester. Hands slid into her hair, body winding ever so sensually on the dance floor. She and Esmee came up with a dance routine for this last month that was still very much implanted in the back of her mind. She almost brought it to the forefront and almost decided to say "Fuck it!" and keep dancing. She could talk to Vincent later. But she turned her head back in the original direction and suddenly, he was approaching her with her favorite drink in hand. One of her eyebrows rose in surprise when he finally stood before her. Her eyes decided to take a tour a-la Vincent, trailing up his form before meeting his eyes again. Despite herself, a small yet very much genuine smile brightened up her face and she took the drink appreciatively.

"Don't try to charm me tonight; it won't work," she stated and gave him a very pointed (but playful) look. Which was surprising enough because any other day, Sienna probably would have flipped him off and kept it moving. However, Jane and music managed to bring her spirits back up, so she was in a sort of pliant mood. Sienna glanced at Jane, who was too far gone to probably notice Vincent's presence, but leaned towards the girl anyway, moving with her. "Be right back. Gotta handle something. Behave." Seeing that Jane might be okay for right now, Sienna grasped Vincent's hand and tugged him behind her.

When Jane had dragged her around earlier, Sienna did take note of one thing. Stairs. The club was more familiar now. She had come here often enough with the girls, especially when it first opened. So, remembered that there was very much an upstairs section that led to a balcony outside. She walked as quickly as she could, not wanting to leave Jane on the dance floor by herself for too long. She felt initially bad about it, but it had to be done. She needed to ask Vincent something. When they finally made it to the balcony, Sienna whirled on him. She forgot that she was still holding him.

"Did you know anything about the Gossip Goddess post?" She barely even gave him a chance to actually respond before she continued, "Well, if you didn't, it said something about secrets being unveiled tonight. And let me tell you - I am all for getting this out in the open, so that Barbie Bitch can get hers. However, for someone that wanted this to be kept a secret, she's pushing me. Very much." Sienna narrowed her eyes at Vincent then, an impassive look on her face for a moment. And then a smirk formed. "And the only reason that a cat gets cocky is when someone's been petting their fur too long." Don't ask her where she heard it from, just know that it came from her mouth. She took a step closer to her ex-boyfriend, ignoring the way that this closeness almost made her swoon. Almost. "So, I'll ask you this then and don't try to lie to me - we both know how that turned out last time. Did you sleep with Sydney again?" Sienna really didn't want to know.

But she needed to.
