The Mandalorians are a warrior culture of people from all different races, all hearty and tough to the core.

Description

Race: Human

Physical Description: Mandalore the Rebuilder is a tall, strong, old man, with battle scars marring his skin all over his body. He is a Mon Calamari Human with ash white hair and intense, piercing silver eyes. He has a strong jaw and harsh features, his brows curved in such a way as to make him constantly seem uneasy or angered, which he often is. His body is muscular and powerful, honed over many decades dedicated to battle. He has multiple tattoos covering his body from many different cultures, though the Mandalorian insignia carved into his chest is the most prominent. Very few recall his name prior to becoming Mandalore, but those who do know him as "Mortaan".

Personality: He is a very intense person, having risen to the rank of Clan Chieftan fairly early on in his career. He's survived the Ressurection and the Dark Times, and is very world-wise for it. He doesn't take any crap from his underlings, and has been known to anger quickly and brood for several hours after an outburst. Never has he believed in the "new" Mandalorian way of peace and debasing mercenary work, and aims to return his people to the great conquerers they were before. He is, however, caring for his people at heart, and will do anything to solidify the Mandalorian strength in the Galaxy.

Equipment and Abilities: A set of heavily customised Crusader armour, an ancient scoped DC-15A blaster heavily modified to be more accurate at the cost of a lowered rate of fire, two Geonosian sonic blaster pistols, and a short vibroblade stored in a specialised compartment upon his bicep. He is an excellent shot with any of his ranged weapons and well-versed in hand-to-hand combat, though his demeanor tends to lack charisma and he sometimes has a difficult time rallying his troops. He is an excellent strategist, however, making up somewhat for his personality faults.

Background: Mandalore the Rebuilder was born into the harsh Mandalorian society, and as such has been trained to fight from a very, very young age. He distinguished himself very early on, defeating his father in a hand-to-hand spar at the age of 12 and becoming a crack shot with a rifle before he was 15. He became a Chieftan at the age of 24 after proving himself in an excursion that ended with the destruction of several rebel bases and the death of the previous chieftan, and began to lead his clan on the war path that the rest of the Mandalorians seemed to forget. The Empire enlisted the help of his clan quickly, giving them suicide missions that tended to end with a few more casualties than his fairly small clan could handle. They left the empire, then, turning to the rebels for support, who, despite their distrust, were much more accommodating than the Empire, sending them on important missions against Empire bases or high-value targets. They became known as a group who would always get the job done, which was greatly due to the future Mandalore's tenacity and strategical competence. Their clan would take part in the destruction of the Death Star, for which they were rewarded greatly. During the war, he even met a Twi'Lek paramour who he would later induct into the Mandalorian way of life. After the collapse of the Empire and rise of the Alliance, the future Mandalore drifted from the fruit of the Rebellion and returned to the planet of Mandalore, where he would begin to rally support. Now, he's gained enough support to be crowned Mandalore and make the new Mandalorian Resurgence a major threat to all who would oppose them, making up in skill what they lack in numbers. The Galaxy beware, the Mandalorians have returned...

So begins...

Mandalore the Rebuilder sits in his Vheh'yaim in the center of Keldabe, which he's begun to use as a sort of Headquarters, listening to the council of his two generals, Kra'tok and Pechnak. Kra'tok is a Togorian hulk of a man with a rough voice and rougher demeanor, and Pechnak is a cool-minded, cool-hearted woman with a head for strategy. They don't tend to get along, and today is no exception. While Kra'tok yells urgings of war in Mandalore's left ear, Pechnak level-headedly advises caution in his other. One side says strike while the iron is still hot, and the other says bide your time and build your strength before attacking. Mandalore had considered both of these extensively and still had not gained a full idea of what he would do. All he knew was that glorious battle was on the horizon, and whether or not it came sooner or later mattered little. He had confidence that his people would survive as they always did, and under his leadership they would prosper.

"Enough." he says cooly as he stands, placing his hands upon the table in front of him and casting cold stares at the two, who immediately stop bickering. "I must have time to consider the options presented. You are both dismissed. If you wish to argue, do it out of my earshot. Understood?"
The two generals nod and salute him before leaving the tent, still whispering angrily to each other. Mandalore sits back upon his well-made galek wood table, going over the reports again briefly before standing again and exiting the abode, tired of looking at reports for the moment and yearning a drink. In hopes of curing that need, he mounts his swoop bike parked just outside and speeds off to the Oyu'baat, lingering outside the entrance for a few moments before entering.

(And they're quickly eaten by the hostile wilderness that inhabits Manadalore ;P)

After Mandalore the Rebuilder finishes surveying the area outside the bar (one can never be too cautious in these tumultuous times), he enters, looking about the area just in time to hear a rather loud "We're not asking for help!" from a Twi'lek woman in crusader armour sitting at a table and talking to another. While he finds it rather odd to be yelling such things in a public place, he ignores it and the respectful salutes of those he passes, moving to the bar itself and ordering himself a large glass of Corellian Rum as he sits upon one of the stools.

He is, in truth, a bit bored. He hadn't found a warrior worthy of sparring him in some time, and his swoop racing years were far behind him. Even with all the planning required for the conflict with the Republic and the minor factions surrounding Mandalorian space, today was a slow day. He almost wished someone would engage him or challenge his authority so he could have something to do.

"What?", Vashil questioned with a puzzled look on his face.

" I'm not too sure on this whole "Former Glory" stuff Vashil. Not when we have other more pressing responsibilities like repaying debts to our clan or the even more pressing matter of helping our little brother keep his legs?". Pala beckoned the barmaid for another round of drinks and then continued. "Besides, if something was going to happen don't you think it would have already?".

Vashil raised a brow (he had eye brows painted on to appear less alien to some species) and crossed his arms. "Are you really questioning the mettle of the Mandalore?".

The Barmaid finally came with their drinks and they both did not hesitate to quench their thirst. "Of course. The Galaxy sees us as a bunch of mercenaries, they don't expect us to do anything anywhere along the lines of war and conquest. So why wait?".

There were a few moments of silence as Vashil searched his mind for a proper point to bring up in defense of the Mandalore but he agreed to much with his sister to find one he deemed worthy of mentioning. Meanwhile, Pala was staring him down with her arms crossed and a large grin on her face that just screamed, I'm right and you know it. It was then that Vashil saw something out of the corner of his eye and turned to look so he could confirm it.

Pala's victorious expression changed to one of curiosity as she turned to look at who or what her brother was looking at. It was the Mandalore, he was sitting right there at the bar. I can already see where this is going. Aiming to beat him to the punch, Pala stood up and started walking towards him, being sure to grab her helmet. "Hey Mandalore! I hear your a good fighter, is that true?".

Not even waiting for a reply, Pala went on to issue the challenge. "Because I'm pretty sure I'm better.".

As the Mandalore sits and drinks, he hears nothing of the conversation between the Twi'leks, but of course that changes when he's approached by one of them, causing him to turn about. Her words challenge his strength, and her voice drips with insolence. This might be a good time to teach a lesson to one of his many followers. He raises a brow and slowly stands up, the shadow of a smirk tugging at the corner of his scarred lips.

"Is that so?" he asks, "And are you willing to prove it? Because that's quite a claim, girl."
He casually places a hand on the handle of one of his Geonosian sonic blaster pistols as he leans against the bar. Ah, this is what he'd been waiting for. He hadn't yet had a chance to prove himself in the eyes of his people. He didn't technically need one; that he was worthy enough to almost unanimously be selected as Mandalore was enough for most, but he felt it wouldn't hurt. And as such, he was more than happy to answer claims like this with the unyielding force for which he had come to be known.
"If you so desire a spar, I will allow you to choose the location and weaponry. You are, after all, fighting at a disadvantage to begin with." he continues, the smirk growing somewhat.

Pala's eyed the Geonosian Sonic blaster he placed his hand on and gave him a sly smile as she shifted her weight to one leg and placed a hand on her hip, tapping the handle of one of her modified EE-3s. She knew that the Mandalore was a better fighter than her, there was no argument. He wouldn't have been chosen as the Mandalore if he wasn't the most worthy of the title. However, this is why it would be worth doing. The odds were stacked against her so the worst case scenario was that she would lose as expected. If she managed to make him sweat for it, it would only make her look good.

"Well aren't you a gentlemen, letting me choose.", Pala jeered before taking a pause to consider a location. "We'll go up the Kelita River and into the woods. That is where we'll fight, Blasters only. This isn't a Death-match, I won't be trying to kill you Mandalore, I expect you'll give me the same courtesy.".

The sweet faced Twi'lek girl put her helmet on and motioned for her brother to come to her. "Vashil. Go take care of Ral'rai and tell him I'll be there to see him soon...and be sure to pay for our drinks".

Pala made for the door but before she left she looked back at the Mandalore saying. " Your not gonna keep a girl waiting are you?".

"I would not think of it." says the Mandalore in his cool tones, in response to both requests, standing up to his full height and walking toward the exit. "We can take my swoop bike, if you'd like."
The people in the Oyu'baat look with wonder at this girl who was brave enough to challenge the mettle of the new Mandalore. Some curse her stupidity, others admire her bravery. But none say anything, the entire cantina falling completely silent. Before long, Mandalore's caught up with Pala, and he mounts his swoop bike, which has conveniently been modified to permit two passengers with a longer seat.

"Or," he offers with a grin, "we could see if your riding skill is as developed as your insolence, and race to the area."
He starts up the loud engines on his CK-6 Swoop, the sound almost deafening due to its modifications for increased power. He leaves the cockpit open for the moment, the gesture an invitation, or perhaps a chance for the Twi'lek to get a head start, depending on her decision. In either case, he simply waits for her action.

Pala's smile was hidden behind her helmet but her laughter could not be silenced by it. The Mandalore had a rather sweet ride, unlike Pala who had a used and beaten default 74-Z speeder. If she raced him she would surely lose. However, She would continue displaying "insolence", she had a feeling it amused him. Perhaps almost as it did her.

"If I raced you and beat you in that hunk of junk", Pala teased, her eyes on his CK-6 but her thumb pointing over her shoulder to where her 74-Z was. "They'd start looking for a new Mandalore before we got halfway through our little fight. And besides...I'm not into publicly humiliating my 'superiors' ".

Pala got into the passenger seat of the Swoop Speeder and begin to realize that her comments may lead to her having a less smoother ride but she guess it was the price to pay for her insolence.

At the Woods just off the Kelita River.

Pala moved through the vegatation of the woods carefully, both her and her EE-3s drawn and ready should the Mandalore, any of the wild and dangerous creatures that lived on Madalore decided to try to make a meal out of her. Her heart pounded in her chest, she was actually nervous. This caused her to smile, it had been too long since she had felt such a thrill and dread. Though she could take comfort in the fact that she would not be killed by her opponent, she still could escape the feeling that she was not at all looking for the Mandalore, rather he was merely tracking her whilst she moved around the woods.

The Mandalore has disappeared into the foliage of the woods, climbing into a rather large tree in a display of athletic superiority, though only the wilds could see it. He raises the scope of his ancient DC-15A to his eye, scanning the woods for any sign of the Twi'lek girl. Unlike Pala, this just felt like old times to him, though he enjoyed it equally. It made him think of the times when he was hunting Death Watch and Pacifist agents alike through the forests of Endor, downing one after another with precision that would later gain him great renown. That was a good time.

He finally spots the girl, moving through the vegetation about 500 feet off. He grins. He had finally found his prey, but it would be so disappointing to just end it here. So, he slings the rifle over his shoulder and makes his way through the trees, drawing one of his sonic blaster pistols and attaching a modification that made it non-lethal, though still quite painful. Soon, he's almost directly above her, the faint rustling of the strong branches the only thing that might alert her of his presence...

Pala stopped suddenly, her gut telling her that danger was nearby (not much help since the fact that she was in the woods was dangerous) She examined her surroundings carefully but saw nothing. She resumed to move cautiously. Her heart was racing, thrashing about in her chest. Pala swore that it was loud enough to be heard. Still she managed to keep her wits about her and avoid panicking.

She stopped again. The Twi'lek heard something this time, she was sure of it. Something was watching her.

The strange but horrifying sound of the Geonosian weapon firing. Pala didn't to look at the direction the sound came from, she didn't have time. She tumbled to the left and then aimed up to where she was certain the shot came from and fired a three short bursts from her EE-3s. Not wanting to make herself an easy target by staying still she darted off, blasts of the weapon just scarcely missing her, each time coming from a new spot.

Pala cursed audible and then shouted at her hunter, where ever he was. "Don't feel special!".

"Your not the first guy get my heart racing!".

After her comment Pala laughed and tumbled behind a tree, not expecting it to be of much use if he was in the tree tops but it was certainly better than running in the open.

Mandalore easily dodges the blaster shots, smirking as he jumps across to a new vantage point and fires another shot off at her. Then, he stops firing as she dives behind a tree and makes his way over to a branch right above her as quietly as he can. Then, he holsters his sonic blaster pistol and draws his vibroblade as he drops from the trees, swinging it at the place where her neck and collarbone meet with lightning speed. He wears a grin on his face that shows his love of battle, and his blade whistles eagerly at it soars through the air.
This was when the Mandalore was in his prime. On the battlefield. Sure, he was a brilliant strategist, but he always preferred to lead from the front. Any good Mandalorian would.

Pala t'racen turned a lighter shade of blue when the Mandalore dropped on her. At the speed that he was attacking, she could not hope to avoid it. He had caught her by surprise any attempt to parry would have not been fast enough and she had her back to a tree, Pala had no room to dodge. So instead she ducked down the Vibroblade hitting the chin of her armor and just scarcely missing the exposed ends of her Lekku. The effect it had on her helmet was just as scary as this behemoth of a man that the Mandalore was dropping down from a tree right behind you, though the Vibroblade did not cut her skin. If it had hit her skin, it would have left a gaping wound. The humming sound produced from the ultrasonic generator in the hilt that made the blade vibrate (thus increasing cutting power and making a small cut easily turn into a serious injury) was the stuff of nightmares. The Twi'lek was having a hard time keeping up with the Mandalore but she was not going to give up.

The Mandalore would see that Pala was every bit as Mandalorian as he was. Though she was kept mostly on the defensive, the puny girl was fighting with all that she had, making sure to avoid the deadly Vibroblade as much as possible while doing her best with her dagger to fight back. Of course if anyone was spectating, it was clear that the Mandalore was winning and going to win. His strength and endurance, stacked atop his years of experience, surpassed Pala t'racen's by a longshot. Soon Pala lost the energy to keep up his pace and that was when the match ended.

Pala's dagger met with the Mandalore's Vibroblade and like anything else of hers that the blade touched, it was ruined. Tired and weaponless, Pala intended to continue fighting and threw a punch, which he caught with his free hand. He gripped it tightly and pulled her to him, then let go and head butted her.

The force of it knocked Pala stumbling back and he then drew his Geonosian pistol. Check. And. Mate. Pala groaned audibly. both in defeat and exhuastion.

"Well what do ya know you got me. Your one hell of a fighter Mandalore.".

The Mandalore blocks all of Pala's attacks almost casually as she attempts to retaliate, landing a few non-lethal hits to her armour that leave unpleasant but reparable cuts. When she begins to tire out, he gets a grin on his face and doubles his speed and ferocity, the vibroblade whistling and humming through the air like an angry Illuthian Colossus Wasp. When it slices through her own blade, he knows he's won, and the victory is made only sweeter by that last headbutt and the drawing of his pistol, the glowing green tip pointed at the Twi'lek girl.

"I hope you've learned something today, young one." he says as she admits defeat and he slides the sonic blaster into its holster. "Now, we should be getting back before they send out a search pa--" he's cut off by the deafening roar of a crippled Corellian ship speeding overhead, and he follows it with its eyes as it crashes somewhere deep within the Mandalorian wilderness.
"That," he says in a somewhat grim tone, "is bad. We should take a look. Follow me."
He sheathes his vibroblade and draws his pistols again, knowing full well that they'll be much more effective against any opposing wilderness or violent crash survivors. He pushes through several ferns and bushes as he makes his way back toward the Swoop, beckoning for Pala to follow.

"I hope you've learned something from this, young one.".

"You bet I did. Get yourself a vibroblade and don't fuck with the Mandalore.". The roar of a crippled ship muted everything around them. Pala looked to the sky and through the treeline she could scarcely see the vessel being ravaged as it speed down through atmosphere leaving a long streak of fire that resembled the tail of a comet. Pieces of it ripped off and went their own separate way from the main body and soon this too crashed into the ground.

"That," he says in a somewhat grim tone, "is bad. We should take a look. Follow me.".
Pala nodded and followed the Mandalore as he led the way through the woods. She was sure to keep with him, only stopping once to pick up her discarded blasters. Pala arrived at the Swoop but a few moments after the Mandalore, he was clearly the faster of the two, and wasted no time jumping onto the passenger seat. "Let's go! If anybody is still alive at that crashsite they'll be dead if we cant beat the looters to it.".

The Mandalore continues through the dense woodlands, noting the second ship breaking through the cloud cover overhead as he jumps into the swoop. "Hm. The vultures have already arrived." he notes flatly. As soon as Pala's on board, he closes the cockpit and puts the bike into full throttle, blasting through the trees at an extremely dangerous speed toward the billowing cloud of smoke that rises into the air.

Before long, they've arrived at the scene of the crash, the bike slowing to a stop in a matter of seconds. The sensation of having one's face almost pulled off by inertia, the Mandalore decides, is not a fun one. Putting that aside, he opens the cockpit and steps out of the swoop, rifle to his shoulder almost immediately as he calls out to the dazed-looking man, "You there! Stop where you are."

Kavis looks at the man who was aiming his rifle at him, and frowned. He wore heavily modified Crusader model armour, and Kavis could tell that he was an important figure in Mandalorian society. Kavis stumbled forwards and drew Rocky out of it's holster, aiming at this figure.

"My name is Kavis Mindar." Kavis said as he slowly stumbled forwards, not taking his eyes off of the figure. "I was pursued by Bounty Hunters and was shot down. I need food, supplies and a fresh change of clothes, please, if you have any decency."

Kavis drops Rocky and waits for an answer from the figure.

Keeping his hands well away from his blasters, Jolo strode towards the assembling group, tilting his head as he looked on. Just another Mando in armor, he was distinguishable by his loping stride, a common occurrence among those who've spent much time in space, or a full-blooded spacer. With his heavier plated armor and the signature pistols made famous by the Deathwatch, he recognized belatedly that coming out into the open could have been a mistake. Ignoring the fact, kama brushing his legs as he approached, the bounty hunter really didn't care too much.

"Vode." Inclining his helmet slightly at his fellow Mando's, the hunter waited, for the moment.

Pala stayed off to the side to not attract attention to herself. Having just sparred with the Mandalore, she had no doubt that he could handle himself. However, even he wasn't immune to a well placed shot. The Mandalorian Twi'lek kept her eyes peeled for any unseen threats, her blasters ready to fire if fired upon. She wasn't oblivious to what was going on just a few feet from her.

Pala turned to briefly examine the other person who approached the Mandalore. She gave him a quick look over with her eyes and then spoke. "Keep your hands away from the blasters and we'll keep our fingers off our triggers.".

Seeing that the madman was clearly not a threat after he raised and then dropped his blaster, the Mandalore lowered his own rifle with a slightly perplexed look, hidden by his helmet but quite present in his tone. "What happened here?" he asks as he gestures to the wreckage. Before he can be answered, however, a new player enters, and while the Mandalore certainly notes his presence, he doesn't raise his blaster rifle. Yet.

"Su cuy'gar." he says as he inclines his head to the newcomer, a phrase that means hello but literally translates to something along the lines of "you're still alive". He studies Jolo intently, sweeping his gaze over the other Mandalorian's dress and weaponry, able to pick out even the hidden ones due to slight irregularities in the armour. "I see you've returned to Mandalore, vod. Because of my summons, I hope." It's a statement, but it certainly has a questioning, almost criticising tone to it.

"I think you, vod, are a layari chakaar, but we'll see." Jolo gave a mocking salute, the expressionless face of his visor shrouding the hard eyes he settled on this man who called himself the Mandalore. "Ni dinu..."

"Mandalore." Despite his mocking tone, Jolo was deadly serious when it came to the proposal of his people rising again. For some, the separation had been hard, to others, they thrived. But unifying again was a gamble of such a large scale, he wondered if this man had any idea just how large the stakes were.

The Mandalpre reacts to the accusations with simply a raised brow. Killing him now would do no good. "You would do well to watch your tongue around me, boy." responds the Mandalore. This one could prove to be a danger to his station, and in the ressurgence's infant stage, any danger was a great one. An eye must be kept on him. However, there are greater concerns at the moment. Like the madman whose ship had recently been turned into a pile of slag and scrap.

"Why did you crash?" Asks the Mandalore somewhat suspiciously, "And what were you doing in this sector anyway? Your ship appears to be outfitted for combat purposes."
