"Your dragon shall die by my blade, hear him scream!"

a character in “The Riders' Ascension”, originally authored by Paintpoint, as played by RolePlayGateway

Description

Name: Rashatok Charter

Age:45

Gender: Male

Position: Forsworn assassin

Species: Pureblooded elf

Description / Appearance: Image
Rashatok is a very handsome man for his age, though the years are starting to catch up to him. Not a single grey hair is present in his thick golden hair which cascades down his back just a half inch under his shoulder blades. He has a broad chest and shoulders with strong muscular arms and the build of a runner. Being 45 he isn't as agile and fast as he used to be, but what he lacks in speed he makes up in strength. Rashatok has dark briwn eyebrows and a short trimmed beard that is the same color. Most often he is cleanly shaved because there is grey in his beard and he thinks it makes him look old. His long and slender ears stick out from under his hair and can rotate and lay back or press forward to pick up sounds. Normally he is seen wearing a dirty shirt and pants while working the farm, but when on the hunt he wears full body armor made out of the most precious elvin metals.

Personality:Rashatok is very short tempered and looks down on races that he believes are below his Pureblooded heritage. (Sven gets this trait from his father) Cold, bitter, and stone hearted are just a few words to describe this man but the list goes on and on. Rashatok has been power hungry since the day he joined the Forsworn, his father before him a member of the dragon slayers. His lust for control and power overwhelms his soul and controls his life.

Short History: Rashatok had planned to entrust his son Sven with the duties of the Forsworn, to keep the line active and alive. All his life he had planned out everything but all that changed when he met a human woman, Sven's mother. After falling in love with the human he left the Forsworn to raise a farm and the unborn child his wife carried. During Sven's birth, Rashatok's wife died and the elf had blamed the halfbred child for the death if his mother. When Sven was ten years old Rashatok married another woman, also human, who helped on the farm and raised Sven.

Power: Rashatok has the power of fire manipulation, he cannot control it willynilly. This means in short that he cannot move fire, but can guide it using his body. (No fire balls, flame shots, etc...). To be honest, he can set himself on fire with no bodily harm, but the fire cannot leave his body.

Weapon of Choice: Twin dual swords, hilts decorated the blue dragon scales and two black claws. Long sword with dragon bone hilt and silver blade.

Other: "My life goal is to balance the power on earth, dragons upset this balance and must be destroyed, along with their riders."

So begins...

Sven was against a cold stone floor, his cheek lying against dust and dirt. Sven a voice whispered weakly in his mind, seeming to echo until the sound completely disappeared. Sierra? he thought back, eyes slowly fluttering open. I'm here Sierra... He reached out to her mind with his thoughts. The air was tense with pain, fear, and loss. Pulling an arm up and under his body, Sven gently pushed himself up on his elbows, lifting his head to look around. His chest felt heavy, throat was dry, and pain radiated from is back. It hadn't been the first time he had received a whipping to his back, but every time, especially now, it burned like nothing else. Sierra, I'm sorry. His apology was strained as he pulled himself up, sitting painfully. His wrists felt raw, causing him to examine them, what he found was iron shackles clasped around each wrist, rubbing against his skin with every movement he made. Im so sorry, Sierra. He had failed her, hadn't protected her, and now she was here. Injured, alone, and scared Sven could think of nothing worse then this, even the crumbling cave looked better than this, at least they had had each other and their dragons. Ranek. Where was Ranek?! Sven started to panic, searching his mind for the dragon's presence, finding nothing but silence.

"Ranek!" He called out, voice hoarse ad raspy from dehydration. "Ranek!" He yelled again, hanging his head shamefully as he heard no response.

Hot tears burned at his eyes and he quickly wiped them away with his arms, gritting his teeth against the metallic bite of the shackles. Not only had he failed Sierra, but Ranek as well. The one living thing that had been depending on him to always be at his best was gone, taken from him by the Forsworn. They would pay for what they had done, their blood would run red like a river as he sought vengeance.

"Ranek!" His voice carried though the prison cell's, echoing back to rattle in his ears.

"Enough," A dark, harsh voice snapped.

The sound of footsteps on cobblestone followed, the heavy boots walking down the long corridor with purpose and authority. A shadow loomed in front of Sven's cell, a dark face appearing at the bars as hate filled eyes peered in. Standing, in full armor with two swords at his belt, was Rashatok Charter. The fair haired elf stood nobly in front of the boy, a deep set frown causing wrinkles in his forehead as his eyebrows drew together.

"Father?" Sven whispered in disbelief.

"You are no son of mine." The man spat, giving the halfbreed a quick once over before continuing down the line of cells.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"So, you thought you were safe?" Rashatok inquired to no one directly, not expecting any of them to speak up and defy him at this point. "You thought wrong." His voice dipped to a lower octave, a deep timbre that vibrated in his chest.

With his hands behind his back, he stopped, peering in to the cell that held a black haired boy, a sneer curling his lip as he looked down at the dragon rider. "You are no more than kids, playing with a fire you cannot control." His dark eyes went to the next cell, the one especially desiged to withhold the half lycan girl inside.

Moving to the center of the prison block, his hands came out from behind his back, swinging out to his sides as he shrugged his broad shoulders. "You upset the balance, children...precatiouns had to be made. Not only to protect you, but to protect the people of these lands."

"The time for dragon riders is gone and the need for dragons is biased on the fairytale prophecies of old and blind witches who do no clearly see how the future should be desiged." Rashatok explained, a smirk forming.

Nero felt Riley's presence next to him as she drug herself to his side and he tried to focus on her face even as his vision blurred. He gritted his teeth and sucked in a breath when Riley touched his side, although he knew she was trying to be gentle. It was then that he realized that the arrowhead was lodged in his side, whereas before he thought it had just grazed him; he had wondered why he was bleeding so much from just being grazed. Teeth still gritted, he closed his eyes and let out a long breath through his teeth, too drained and in pain to care at the strangeness of her proposal.

"Do what you have to do." he said through his teeth, fighting the strong urge to sink into the abyss of blackness awaiting him at the edges of his vision.

He glanced over to see a figure approaching, barely able to focus on his words as he spoke, but he didn't have to hear what he was saying to hate the actual man himself.

Riley quickly removed the lodge item in Nero's skin then put pressure on it. She hated him being in pain so she ignored the man, hiked up Nero's shirt slightly and leaned down. The man wouldnt see what she was doing cause in the dark it would look like she was just leaning on him. She made quick work knowing it would be awkward for. She licked the blood away then began on the wound. She gathered saliva on her tongue and started licking the wound, the coppery sweet taste of Nero's blood made her wolf's eyes pop open and lick her lip's but Riley surpressed her and the blood lust that poured for her inder animal.
Riley licked the wound until a thin layer's of skin started to reform on the inside of his wound then she stopped knowing that all that had to heal was in outside and tha would take 15 or so minutes.

Riley growled lightly at the man who glared dagger's at Nero then she bite into her wrist and put it to Nero's lips.
"dont worry, since i'm only half my blood willnt turn you but it will give you more engery and you have lost alot of blood you need to get it from somewhere so drink" Riley whispered low in Nero's ear then kissed his cheek and waited for him to take her blood before he passed out.

Nero winced as the lodged arrow was removed from his side, but the short burst of increased pain was short-lived. Nero vaguely felt Riley's tongue on his wound, a strange sensation at first, then felt the restorative properties begin to pour energy back into his exhausted body as his wound began to heal and Riley's Lycan saliva soothed the wound and stemmed the flow of bleeding. The black dots at the edges of his vision had begun to subside, although he was still very weak and was still in danger of blacking out. Nero watched Riley with an astonished, confused expression as she bit into the soft skin of her own wrist, and his eyes widened and he tensed slightly when she put her bleeding wrist to his lips. He met her eyes, an almost panicked confusion on his shadowed face, a question there, before he listened to what she murmured in his ear. At first he hesitated, the situation scaring him and starting to creep him out. The thought of drinking her blood seemed strange and insane, but then he realized that if he didn't he would black out, and they all needed to be at their best if they were to get out of this situation. Despite how out of it he was, his heart skipped a beat when he felt Riley's lips on his cheek, and with her there by his side he felt safer and suddenly more sure. Finally, after that first moment of hesitation, Nero pressed his lips the rest of the way to Riley's wrist and drank, trying not to cringe as the warm, coppery tang of her blood hit his throat. He leaned against her as he drank, as he barely had the strength to sit up himself.

"Ah" Riley hissed lowly as the silver burned her finger's. She had to move the cuff higher on her arm so Nero had access to her wrist and she was holding it making her finger's burn and sizzle from the metal. She lightly played with Nero's hair with her free hand, brushing the ebony strands away from his face. She could feel him getting stronger as he drank her blood but she saw him cringed at the flavor.
"its just blood" Riley said softly and stroked his cheek. When she felt that she couldnt take anymore she pulled her wrist away from Nero and licked the wound instantly healing the small bite holes. She then curled into his side, his body heat had returned and it comforted her.
"That took quite alot, i'm just going to rest for a moment then we will *yawn* find our dragon's" Riley mumbled as she rested her head on Nero's shoulder.

A pleasant shiver ran down Nero's spine as he felt Riley's gentle fingers trailing through his hair, as she tussled it slightly and moved it out of his eyes, in an almost soothing and comforting manner. Nero felt the soft brush of her fingers on his cheek and her sweet voice murmuring in his ear, and then wiped his mouth on the sleeve of his hoodie once Riley brought her wrist away from his lips and healed the small puncture wounds there. He could sense that it had weakened her, and for a moment felt bad, but then reassured himself that if he hadn't, he would most likely be blacked out and in some serious danger by now. "Thank you." he murmured softly to her as he felt her curl up into his side and rest her head on his shoulder. With his free hand, he reached over and brushed some strands of golden hair away that had fallen into her face when she had rested her head on his shoulder. "Just rest." he murmured softly to her, continuing to gently run his fingers through her soft golden hair and brush it out of her face and eyes. "We'll find them once we both have the strength and then we'll all get out of here.....I promise." he murmured, hoping he could live up to and keep that promise to her.

Sierra felt another cough come from her throat, she listened silently to Sven's pleads as well as apologizes. Sven..You don't have to apologize..It's not your fault. But I appreciate you protecting me. You truly are a great friend.. Sierra managed to say that last message before she felt pain erupt from her shoulder. Sierra winced and sucked in a breath as she let a whimper pass through her lips. Sierra felt herself stiffen as suddenly everything was in a blur. One moment everything was fine and quiet..the next Sven's father was there. Sierra felt a deep rage fill within her as Rashatok barely noticed his son, or even pretended to give a damn. "Ah...what's this? Sven's girlfriend is this what we have here?" Rashatok's cruel voice sounded once again and this time Sierra clenched her fists and yet she was too weak to even move. "Well...we will just have to move this pitiful thing..now won't we?" Rashatok murmured. He nodded as a rather tall and muscular man entered the cell, he picked Sierra up with ease and held her with a firm grip making Sierra gasp aloud. "Bastard." Sierra managed to grumble as she fell limp in the man's arms. Rashatok met her gaze and took a few steps forward, even in the darkness Sierra could tell the finer detail of his face. Rashatok's slender fingers felt the side of Sierra's cheek, a teasing way, knowing it would make Sven jealous. Sierra winced but moved her face from his hand. Rashatok grinned and nodded towards the muscular man, "Take her to a seperate cell..We are in need of a...chat.." he said with a cruel grin. Sierra watched with helplessness as she was taken away from Sven and into the darkness once again.

Rashatok eyed Sven, his eyes narrowed into slits as he turned his face and looked over at the black-haired boy as well as the pitiful blonde. "Tsk, Tsk. This shall not do." he murmured with a gleam in his eye. When the muscular man came back from putting Sierra in another cell Rashatok nodded towards the blonde girl. "Make sure you split the two lovebirds please. No time for that now." he said with a growl. The muscular man entered the cell and with a force so inhumanly strong he pushed Nero and Riley on opposite sides of the cell. With a movement so quick he tied the chains a few more times around the post making it highly impossible for the two to meet again. Rashatok rubbed his hands together, thinking of something. "Well now that, that's settled I think I shall go visit our human girl for a few brief moments.." he growled and disappeared back into the dark..

Nero heard Rashatok's extremely infuriating voice sound as he provoked Sierra and Sven, taking Sierra away and then turning to Nero and Riley. Nero met Rashatok's gaze bravely as he pulled Riley closer to him, trying to protect her as he glared ice-cold daggers with the fury of a thunderstorm at Rashatok as hatred for the man boiled in his blood. When he heard what he said, he tried to brace himself and hold on tighter to Riley, not wanting to let her go, but it was no use. Nero winced as fresh pain jolted up his still-healing side as he was thrown to the opposite side of the cell. It didn't re-open the wound, but it still hurt like hell. Nero tried to lift himself up, the hatred in his eyes now having intensified as Rashatok had the muscular man throw Riley, none too gently, to the other end of the cell. "Riley!!" he called to her, trying to rush to her side, but was jolted back with surprise as the shortened chains yanked on his wrists painfully, preventing him from getting any closer to her. He struggled against his bonds a few more times, but when he realized his efforts were hopeless at the moment, he ceased his struggles and slumped against the wall, leaning his back on the cold, unyielding, and unforgiving surface. "Don't you touch her, you bastard!!" Nero spat at the man, fury raging in his stormy gray-blue eyes. "Go to hell!!!" he yelled after the elf's retreating form, and would have gone after him to start a fight that he wouldn't be able to win but would have tried anyway, if he hadn't been chained to this damn wall.

"AH!" Riley whimpered as she hit the wall with full force. Her head throbbed in pain as she fell to the ground to weak to move. All she wanted to do was sleep, she was drained from healing Nero. She could hear voices in the distances, angry voices but one voice made her heart quicken in fear and joy.
The scent of her father entered her nose and she sighed in relief as she heard his heavy foot steps near.
"WHERE IS SHE!!" she heard him yell in anger, then she heard some weak response. Her father to say the least in intimidating. He has a head full of dark brown hair not a single gray in it even at his age of 37. He has dangerously dark blue eye's that can make people coward in fear, then to top it all off he stands at 6'8 with a very muscular body. Ya her dad was dangerous.
"......D...dad...." Riley tried to speak but her vision began to blurr as she felt blood drip down her neck from the gash in the back of her head.
" You listen hear you weakling, i have been reinstated as one of the leader's of Forsworn you will listen to me and tell me where my daughter is!" her dad growled loudly. They were getting closer until she heard they sound of their prison open and she was engulfed in her dad's warmth.
"Oh Riley baby i'm so sorry i wish that dragon did choose you, i'm so sorry.......what is......YOU BASTARDS YOU MADE HER CUFFS SILVER! AND STRAIGHT ON THE SKIN! REMOVE THEM AND GET THE STEEL CUFFS!......i'm sorry baby girl i'll try to reason with the elder's but i cant release you" he dad sounded so heart broken. He held her until the man came back with the other cuffs and they removed her silver one's. Riley sighed as the hot metal was replaced by cool metal. She can't break steel, not in the form and her dad knew it, but this was his job again there isnt anything else he could do.
"...Thank you...." Riley mumbled.
"I'm so sorry baby girl, i love you so much" her dad said sadly before standing up and looking back at the guard.
"If any of you touch her you will be dealing with me, GOT IT!" her dad growled.
"get them all some food, NOW!" he ordered at the guard left. Her father exited the prison and closed the door looking back at Riley one last time, his dark gazes sad and broken.
"Well find a way" he mumbled before disappearing.

Nero watched as Riley's father entered their cell, and at first he was about to try, in vain, to protect her again, as he had never met her father and he was more than a bit concerned when the large, muscular, intimidating, and very loud man walked into the cell and approached her. He tensed and strained against his bonds once more, but then heard Riley mutter something weakly, calling this man her father. For a split second, a look of confusion crossed over Nero's face, but then realization and understanding replaced the emotion, and he watched the scene before him warily, but slightly less tense. When he saw the man remove Riley's silver cuffs and replace them with steel ones, he relaxed a great deal, now knowing that this man meant Riley no harm. He noticed a bit of blood dripping down Riley's neck from a wound on her head, and he swore to himself he would get vengeance on whomever had thrown her so roughly against the cell wall. Once more Nero tried to strain against and unwind his cuffs to try to get to her side once her dad left, but it was no use; the chains would not budge, and he couldn't unwind them himself. Defeated, he slumped against the wall and watched Riley from his end of the cell, through the unruly mess of his pitch black hair, which he couldn't reach to brush out of his eyes. He sighed softly under his breath and wished he could go to her. "Are you okay?" he asked her softly across the empty, shadowed space that seemed endless between them, deep concern in his voice as he saw the glint of blood in her hair and streaming down the back of her neck from where her head had slammed against the wall, and his heart clenched in frustration that he could not go to her.
