Personality

A rather witty character with a charming personality. Her sharp mind is matched with her own sharp tongue, and though her sarcasm might strike others as harsh, it's only in Eve's nature to be straightforward. She has some issues with connecting with others well, which might be why she prefers to work alone. While she doesn't play well with others, she is quite professional despite her comical remarks. With an analytical methology, she is quite effective at solving most mysteries.

History

Evelyn grew up as an only child of a well renown cop who who was shot in the line of duty while trying to break up a domestic dispute. Inspired by her father's heroism and being enthralled with stories of his greatness, she became a cop herself right out of high school. Despite her mother's reluctance to support her decision, she was quite exceptional. She made detective not long into her line of her work.
Shortly after her mother died of cancer, she became partners with newer recruit. He was well liked and very good at his job, and their chemistry soon sparked a relationship. Despite relugations forbidding their romance, the two continued even though the entire presinct knew. Working together on a narcotics turned murder case, she was horrifed to find her partner and lover was working with one of the local mafias and was in fact the one who murdered the suspect to cover his own involvement. When she found out, her partner pleaded with her to understand. He was trying to make a better life for them. The mafia soon learned that she found out and sent a hit on her.
Her partner tried to protect her, but even Eve couldn't forgive what he had done. Faced in an impossible situation, she was forced to shoot her partner to survive when he failed to convince her.
Knowing what this would to do her lover's family, and considering she had no one, she took the wrap that should have been his. Her superior officers knew better, especially the chief. After her father died, he looked after her. Instead of filing charges, she simply lost her badge. Moving away to another city, she started over as a P.I., hoping to forget the whole mess. Her own reputation for her good work grew amongst the presincts in the city, and she's usually the one they call when....legal help....is of little more use.
