"The High Collective will handle when and how many of my kind we receive for this course of action. As of where races go, I know little of the other races of this world. The best to target for support would be the ones that are honorable, enslaved, or 'lords of justice.' There may also be some knightly orders and religions that might offer some support for the cause of ending the slave trade. I know that it has not helped human popularity, so you might even be able to get traders and some nobles behind you as well." Uven spoke, hoping that his understanding of the world outside the Swamps was what he thought it was. Only time would tell him.

Ara bit her lip as she looked at the door. "Well I would start by checking out the local slave merchants, we could buy the freedom of a few. Then if they wish to help the cause we'll have some extra helpers. Also... it looks like the guy who wants to become his highness could be useful. Im going to go talk to him, call me if you need anything." Ara waved goodbye and set off to look for Baradukhus.

At first she had trouble finding him but suddenly knew where to look. Ara carefully disguised herself and walked to the red light district.
Finding him at a brothel was different because there was so many. Until she saw a familiar man following a girl and Baradukhus was being an ass and giving him away.

before Anrik could see Ara and the jerk, she pulled him away so he wouldn't interfere. After all she wasn't worried about the girl... Anrik was not the kind to hurt a girl. Ara pulled Baradukhus into an alley.

"You still want to become his highness?" she asked

The doors to the High Collective opened. Uven walked into the room and assumed the normal standing position. "Ara has gone off on here own for a short while." Uven spoke, most of the council showing signs that they were not entirely surprised.

"We have come to a decision." Spoke the whitest, "We will to have at least two other armies prepared to fight for the cause. We will be allowing 14 of our brothers as guardians and observers. What shall be done with them is Ara's choice. As for when you have amassed at least two other armies worth of support, we will dedicate half of our forces to your cause."

"Understood." Spoke Uven before he left the chambers. Before he closed the door, he took the note from the door guard that would get him the lizardfolk that he was allowed.

When Uven exited the High Council's building, he walked down to the sewers, where most of his kind slept and organized. Moving swiftly through the tunnels that he knew so well, Uven came upon the Patrol Captain. "Uven! Is there something you need?" Spoke the gravelly voice of the Patrol Captain in draconian, to which Uven replied "I have a note from the High Council. I am to take 14 of the warriors for her guard and await her return."

The Patrol Captain stopped for a moment, thinking. "I will send them to the old tavern." With that, Uven said his thank yous and handed the Patrol Captain the note.

Uven now sat waiting for the 14 of his brothers to arrive at the old tavern. He then pulled out a sample of Ara's blood that he had gotten when he had marked her. Focusing through it, he sent her the location of where to go when she returned.

And then Ara came. He raised an eyebrow when the woman who was obviously the princess pulled him away. "His higness?" Baradakhus asked the lovely woman, then, in an announcer's voice, "All hail King Baradakhus Taber Niler, worst king ever! Honestly no. I was just messing with you. Royalty sucks! I have to say I'm somewhat of a wanderer. Wandering anywhere is what I do. Maybe to do because my family were nomads? I don't know, except that I'd drive this city into the ground with how I would run things. Right. Into. The ground."

And then he realized he wasn't getting drunk and swarmed with slutty women, "Ara, you know what you need? You need to loosen up! Let's go get drunk!" Because getting drunk is always the responsible choice. And hey, it actually might lead somewhere with Ara in a bed with Baradakhus. That's always good for Baradakhus. Because Baradakhus is Baradakhus and Baradakhus needs the booze and Baradakhus need the women or else he'd gone insane by now...well, he would've been much, much more insane than he already is. If it wasn't for booze and women, I mean. Because, let's face it, Baradakhus is one sexy guy.

Urturi wondered where the loud man went. Staying still, she tried to listen, although that's not so easy as other people are talking and the familiar guy is still in front of her. She cursed under her breathe, she lost the princess's location. Deciding to be upfront about it, if he decides to reveal to the enemy she could kill him.
She lowered her voice and stepped closer. "I'm looking for the princess. The balance is tipping and she needs protection. I don't know if you know where she is, or if you're her enemy. What i'm saying is back off. I'm here on a missing and currently you're an obstacle." She turns her head to survey the area. "I'm pretty sure i'm close to where she is. I just hope the family contract with the royal family holds until i can find her." She nods her head. "If you don't have anything to say, i would like to end this and continue looking. A good day to you sir." She turned to leave.

"Yes... you as his highness would be a true tragedy... thats what i thought at first too."Ara thought for a moment.
"Your lazy and you don't care, your in it for the money and I get that. because nobody can survive without money, unless you want to become the poor or homeless."she nodded.

"thats true but... I'm not so sure you would run it to the ground, and maybe this is just a hunch but I think you also have potential to be a leader... you don't want to be a leader... still that position is meant to be earned. So many men are given a position of leadership and they don't deserve it." Ara looked at him strait in the eyes and smiled "I want to recruit you... maybe Uven would think I'm crazy but i have a method to my madness... hm..."[/b]Ara stopped and tipped her chin "By the way... did you think I would just have offered the kings position without a price or some conditions?"Ara backed away and shook her head. "No sir, i would have started you off as my personal leader in training... so... When you finish drinking and sober up come find me and tell me what you want." walked away with a wave.

Drinking didn't sound like a bad idea however she had a responsibility and should head back to Uven. Also knowing him she would end up in a situation she didn't have power to prevent. It wasn't enough that he was one of the most handsome men she had seen yet, she didn't trust him with her life yet.

Walking back she got the message from Uven and was rather surprised. Finding him in the place he wanted to meet she immediately asked him "What was that and how does it work?" referring to the magical thing with the blood. She sounded like a child who had seen the ocean for the first time.

Anrik was rather curious where the ass hole went but he didn't care after the little bird confirmed that she was looking for the princess. At that moment Anrik looked sad but the expression quickly went away when he realized he wasn't supposed to revile his soft spot. "So you want me to back off... even if i know where to find her?" he let that question hang in the air for a moment and watched trying to read her expression.

"Also... so many people want to find Ara... when i know for a fact Ara doesn't want to be found. The only way your going to find her is..." he stopped talking for a moment seeming distracted by something going on behind Urturi. It was Ara leaving the Alleyway and running down the street. She was gone before Urturi had a chance to look.
"Sorry little bird but I have somewhere to be..." with that he walked off in the direction Ara had gone.

Baradakhus laughed at Ara's reply. He could only scoff at the answer. Obviously, Ara didn't know Baradakhus at all. Well, they basically did just meet. So, after a few seconds after Ara left, Baradakhus left the alleyway that he was in to see the man from before. "Look who I just found!" Baradakhus screamed in the air with joy, "It is the hound, that was sniffing and following. I wonder where you are going, good sir!" And Baradakhus stepped into the way of the other man.

Some people wouldn't call Baradakhus smart, but he actually was. Piecing together from what he saw of this man before, and the direction he was going in, Baradakhus could only seem to suspect that he was going to follow Ara. He couldn't allow that. She was part of the group that he was being paid to work for. "Hello, hello! My name is Baradakhus Taber Niler, the God-Slayer, the Man with the Night's Sword, the Bogeyman. Of course, these are bullshit name's that I have just mad up, but I do like the God-Slayer, I kind of am one. So, who are you?" Ahh, he loved the act of messing up one's plans. It's quite fun!

Anrik just lost Ara's trail and this guy was in the way. If he had known Baradakhus was involved with Ara then he would have been to say the least surprised. The guy was obviously nothing but trash. So the reasons Anrik wouldn't feel the least bit interested in Baradakhus was clear.

"I will admit." he responded "I don't meet other men who don't mind there own business in the red light district. Most like to keep their business as discreet as possible. I am a man that needs not converse with the likes of you... so run along." Anrik gave him a warning look, hoping to scare him off. Still that was a foolish idea to think Baradakhus would be scared off so easily. Still Anrik was smart enough to know not to take his eyes off the man.

Knowing the little bird he had met just before was still behind him, he was also hoping she would run along too. Baradakhus was obviously dangerous. One was to wonder what the princess saw in a man such as him.

Uven sat as each of the lizardfolk arrived at the old tavern. The sign still said 'Raven's Lizard Tavern,' showing the silhouette of a raven holding a lizard as it flies. Maybe this was a forewarning, maybe it was just a slim chance. There was something to be said about forewarnings and omens when you worked in magic, that they always seem to come true. Uven could only ponder the thought.

He also couldn't help shake the thought that Ara might believe that the method he had used to commune with her was a two way method. Unfortunately, it was a caster-speaks kind of spell. Neither would know of the other until Ara entered the old tavern.

Uven looked around at the 14 lizardfolk sitting at their various places. Some were betting rat skulls on Six-Coin-Flip, a favorite gambling game in the swamps. 2 or 3 were sparing in an arena they made of the tables, having placed the tips of their spears on the bar. The rest were either watching one of the other groups or talking among themselves. All of them were rearing to go and get everything started. They all were more than ready to fight the vile slave lords and bring their chosen human to throne.

Uven decided that it was time to announce what was going on. He stood up, ringing the metal bell that was once used to tell people to listen if the done order was theirs. "Dear brothers, the High Council has seen it fit to state that the cause of all out war on the slavers is one that we are not yet ready for. They have made the decision that only after we have 2 other armies standing along side this cause can we gain the support of half the standing warriors in this district. They have assigned you to follow directly under Princess Ara herself, to aid in the initial steps towards placing her on the human throne and removing slavery once and for all, as well as protect her from those that would see her body fall cold early. We are still many steps away from what you all may be seeking, but know that you are the first steps, and some of the most vital."

The other lizardfolk cheered. To them, Uven was a wise man, healer, and battlemage. Many had seen what he can do, and how well things he stands behind tend to be. Now, he had found a leader to take them to ending slavery, they couldn't be happier. They were no longer just warriors, they were warriors with a cause.

Uven didn't answer her question and Ara guessed because he was too focused on their new guards and if she didn't know any better she would say he was ignoring her. But when he introduced her to the guards she noted that he was at least aware of her presence. Ara looked at the Lizard folk and at once noticed a change in them. although they looked at her and they seemed to have imagined Ara would be well... not so young.
Though it seemed the lizard folk didn't put barriers for females like humans did, she couldn't shake the feeling that they at least expected her to be less childish. Her outburst when she entered diffidently didn't help with the first impression. Ara knew a true leader doesn't get respect out of the blue. Maybe it was time for her to grow up... her childhood was taken from her and with no way to return to the way things were, it seemed the only way was to grow up.

"You look angry, as if a misunderstanding has caused clouding in your mind. There is something I must state. The High Council wish for two other armies be behind your cause before they are willing to send half of the districts warriors to aid the cause. They have granted you 14 of the warriors of this district to act as your guards and warriors. They await your command." Uven spoke. He had seen his brothers faces of shock when Ara had entered.

Now many of the lizardfolk were coming to the full realization. They were not following an experienced warlord, but a leader in training with a worthwhile adviser tor aid her. They knew now just how important these first steps were going to be, training Ara as much as preparing for war. They all began readying their individual equipment. They were ready to follow.

Ara gave a warm smile to the others before the all began reading equipment.

When they were done and she had their attention she spoke in a clear voice with confidence.
"I will properly introduce myself now. I am Ara of Qi, and The Late King's... god rest his soul... I am his only daughter." Ara paused no longer looking to Uven for support.
"Now one by one I wish for each of you to introduce yourself, then please share with me your skills and specialties. That way not only do I have the names of the great worriers I shall fight along side, but have a good idea of the next plan of action."

Baradakhus smirked. He liked this guy's attitude towards him. "'I am a man the needs not to converse with the likes of you,'" Baradakhus repeated, "Ahahah! You think you're better than me?" Baradakhus laughed, "No one person is better than I, Baradakhus. Baradakhus is the best because Baradakhus is just better. I can tell that you have an acquaintance with Ara, and you, the woman! What are your goals?"

Baradakhus returned the man's stares. He wasn't daunted, no mortal man could scare him. He wasn't scared of anything except the unknown-unknown's. He was scared of what he didn't know and never will know. He was scared of things that weren't physical. So, Baradakhus' smirk grew into a grin. "Oh, I love the expression on your face. You think you're better than me because of what? Because of who I am? Because I am a mercenary? Because I haven't come from royalty? Oh, people like you amuse me. And, I'm not most men."

The lizardfolk then all looked to Uven. He knew now was the time for a full introduction.

"You know my name is Uven. I am skilled in a variety of magics and have a powerful mind with great stores of knowledge, even though it is isolated from the inner-workings of other species." Uven spoke, holding a small, glass cup. When done, he tossed the cup to the one sitting next to him.

"I am Oozi. I walk the rooftops with ease and know many ways of observing others who will to not be observed. I also write quickly and neatly." Said the skinny one with leather gloves and what looked like climbing boots. He then passed it to on of the sparing warriors.

"I am Zayzot, the warrior, loyal to the orders of the High Council and the freedom of all my brothers." Spoke the warrior before passing it off. The rest turned out to be either front-line warriors who are skilled with ambushes or observers who could stealthily get in nearly anywhere.

"Vary good... thank you" Ara spoke then tapped her chin for a moment thinking. At first the amount she had worriers she had been given seemed like a set back, but Ara now realized that this was an excellent start. Ara's main interest was Oozi for the moment. It was important to have worriers who were literate.

"For now I wish for every one to train while I have council with Uven. Except Oozi... you have a special assignment."

The others went to work on sparring with each other while Oozi stepped forward...
"I want you to help me with a list of local slave lords... because the thing about them is there are many and they even have ranks and the industry is deep. Report back to me anything you find... Even if the information is small it is important, every last bit of it."

Oozi nodded and Ara smiled. When Oozi left Ara turned to Uven...
"The good news is we will at least know what we are up against, hopefully soon. The bad news is there are many more slave lords all over the world. My father had concubines so I would know... Many of them were slaves from across the ocean or elsewhere."
Suddenly Ara didn't feel like talking about her father.

"Let me ask you Uven... what do you think our new group lacks the most?"

Anrik frowned in confusion, at the mention of Ara's name he stiffened. "What is your business with Ara? You talk as if your... " he paused " you ask so many questions. So maybe you can explain to me what your business with Ara is." Anrik countered with the same question, searching for answers in Baradakhus's eyes as well. It was amazing... truly amazing. Ara always saw something in guys like this one... hell... he was one of them.

If Anrik didn't know better he would guess Baradakhus was in some way shape or form protecting Ara from a potencial bounty hunter. Still Anrik didn't think many men were capable of doing something for a girl who was already worth so much money. On top of that... the guy didn't seem to be discreet about being involved in some way with Ara. Meaning he wasn't threatened and had confidence to ask questions and cover his tracks. Anrik could guess this man was not only a mercenary but had killed before.

Anrik ignored all the other questions and waited for Baradukhus to respond to his question, he had no wish to further describe why he had a hunch that this man was no good.

Baradakhus' looked at the man in front of him. Obviously this person was trying to see if he could get anything from his eyes, but...Baradakhus' eyes were bright, bright with the images of slaying this man. Hey, a guy needs contingency plans, and slicing and dicing was a great contingency plan. "So, you're a stubborn one," Baradakhus said, "Well, I guess I'll have to tell you what business Ara and I have together: No business. None at all. I was hired buy the lizard friends that I have over in scale-town. But that could change anytime, honestly. Your father could hire me for more, or Ara's bounty could be raised. And, before you ask how I know who you are, ask yourself this; how do you not know me? I've made a name for myself.

"You know what? I'll just cut to the chase. This first time that I came to this city, what, um...ten years ago? Yeah, I profiled peoples of interest. When I came back a week ago for a contract, not the one of the lizards, mind you, I sought out those peoples of interest and saw if they changed any. And, then, here we are now. You know, this wouldn't happen. I mean, this man-hunt, or even the king's death, if this city had a democracy. Where there is no monarch, there is no king, queen. They have it good in the west because they don't have monarchies. Well, the elves there do, but not our species of Homo sapiens.

"Does that answer your question Anrik? Does it make you feel safe that I could betray Ara, that I could betray anyone? And I could do it too! I have no emotional investment in this retarded city, or Ara, or the lizard-folk. I am a sociopath, I guess, because all there is for me is the money." And then, after that little rant, "God...the elves in the west though...the sex is great...great but kinky. I might go there again after this."

"What they lack is size. We have warriors who can act as small assault groups and warriors who can move swiftly through the shadows. We both pose little threat and little interest. This is as much an advantage as a disadvantage, and will make it harder for us to gain our first set of allies. Still, we are not likely to be sought after by many at the moment. 14 lizardfolk, a mage, and a princess don't exactly pose too great of a threat to many private organizations, yet." Uven spoke. He knew that making direct attacks early on would be a bad idea, and gaining allies would be a challenge. Still, it was a beginning that many heros before him had, and it was not like it was his choice, it was Ara's. She was the leader, but like every great leader, there must be great advisers. Uven only hoped that when it came to advisers, Ara would gain many more like himself.

Ara remembered just a day ago Uven presented the opportunity. Ara had a feeling she knew where to look for allies.

Its not that Anrik thought that this guy wouldn't do thing... he knew mans capabilities just as well as Ara. He was Actually relieved Ara didn't have business with him and hope she kept it that way.

"Then your business isn't with me, its with my father. I honestly couldn't care less about the Brat, there are plenty of wemon... and you know... Elven women don't sound all that bad! Maybe when your done here ill see you there. But if you feel like betraying the girl find my old man. Don't even think about stabbing me in the back too because my old man is the only one who still cares to find the princess And I doubt he would work with you if i was dead. Also my advice is to talk to him fast before this all dies down... also If you tell him where to find Ara like you told me then he won't care to pay you... before he sends people after her himself." Acting like he didn't care a bit about anyone other than himself Anrik walked away.
"Be more discreet about information." Anrik told him waving before he left.

If the little bird was listening to that conversation the good news is she would now know where to find Ara.

"Wait, what?" Baradakhus said dumbfounded. Be more discreet about information. He never told Anrik anything. Okay, he might have said to much information, but if he finds Ara, Baradakhus will honestly kill him. Because that's bullshit. Baradakhus didn't tell Anrik anything about where Ara was. He wouldn't have even been able to piece it together, "God-motherfucking-damn it! I'm going to slice his throat open if he finds her. Okay...now I have an emotional investment in this. I'm so going to kill someone."

Then he looked at the woman and flipped her off. Walking away, still fuming, Baradakhus didn't even know how mad he was. That Anrik must be a great liar, or there was some, higher, force that was working for him. Goddamn! He kicked open the door to a bar and walked in, "Alright ya bastards! I'm pissed, and I want all of you to come at me as if you were going to kill me. The person who kills me gets my equipment"

The bar he walked into was filled with other mercenaries, and some guards. The mercenaries smirked and unsheathed their swords, the guards did the same. The owner of the bar came out from the back after all the ruckus, and one look at the crowd, walked right back to where he came from. He wasn't getting into that. The owner came back with two bottles of rum, seems he was actually interested, then through the bottle in his right-hand. That was all what was needed for the warrior's to run at Baradakhus.

Baradakhus laughed, a shrieking and high-pitched sound, and his eye opened wide with lust as he grabbed his swords of his back. His laugh stopped a few in their path, and that was all that Baradakhus needed to start. The man rushed forward and sliced at a man's uncovered neck, the "god-sword" coated with blood. His other sword, in his left hand, pierced through a man's leather armour. That was where it got bad. A guard got one clean hit on Baradakhus, but his well-made armour deflected it. This was where it turned from a fight to a slaughter. Baradakhus mowed down the mercenaries, who weren't that well trained, and then struggled with the guards, but Baradakhus was a master with a blade, and the guards were new. He killed them all, in about an hour.

Wiping his sword on a waitress' clothing, she was terrified, Baradakhus looked at the host and asked, "Some booze, please?"

The host raised an eyebrow before throwing a bottle to the man. "Thanks!" Baradakhus then sat down. He then turned to the woman, "Could you go through the dead guy's pockets, please? I want to see if they have contracts or money or whatever."

The woman could only nod shakily before what was asked of her. She came back with one contract, which read that someone put a bounty on a slaver a few days away from the city, and then there were only 134 gold pieces, shared with all the men. They spent it on drinking.

The good thing that happened was that Baradakhus wasn't angry anymore. So, yeah. He just killed people.

Oozi was striding across the rooftops heading towards the lizard district. In the pouch at his waist was a list of several slavers who were permanent residents, the make up and jobs of their slaves, and just how close the next slave auction was. Their were even some higher nobles who had brought in a few squads of their slave armies.

It was then that Oozi noted a little human female run into one of the men in the 'Final Alley' to the lizard district. Oozi knew what the men their would do. They weren't as merciful as the lizardfolk who simply killed, they did much worse. They would take every advantage they could, and if they liked it, they would keep it and go again and again, making the taken wish they had just died.

As the men of the alley began to surround Urturi, Oozi jumped off the rooftop where he was at. He crashed behind the men, pulling out the small, the length of his thigh, blade that he kept for emergencies. Oozi then let loose what the men of this alley called the 'End Roar,' for all who stayed after it would likely meet their end. And like always, the men scurried at the sight of the lizardfolk. They may have been insane and deprived and cruel, but they were not stupid enough to mess with a 7-foot tall lizard on 2 legs.

"What brings you to this place, small human? This is no place for a female of your kind, and the end of the alley is no place for any of your kind." Oozi spoke, letting the size of his body cause his voice to deepen.

Uven awoke to the sunlight shining through the broken blinds of the room's window. He sat up on the small mattress that he had been laying on without any pillows or sheets. He looked around at the bland and worn wooden walls with a paper-like substance that was peeling off in several places. Uven then looked at the floor, the fur carpet coked in dirt and dulled by use. As he stood, getting off the bed, Uven picked up his mace and the bag with the lantern in it. Attaching the two to their places on his belt.

Picking the door up and removing it from the door frame, that it was once attached to, Uven walked out into the downtrodden hallway. The walls were like the rest of the building, including his room, excepting the fact that only a few of the light-candle holders had fallen off the wall. 2 out of the 4 hanging lanterns were still their too, as Uven could see from the light coming in from the missing windows. He made his way down into the main room of the tavern. Some of his brothers were already up, the coin game had only two players, and the three-way spar was being watched, and bet on, by only four. It was just another day.

Flashing a smile of gratitude, Urturi faced her saviour. Although she could take care of herself, fighting a group is a stretch.
Bowing in respect she responded "I have been sent on a mission to protect the princess. I've acquired information that she is residing and protected in your territory.

Looking up but keeping a respectful stance she continued. " I was hoping that i may be granted permission to see and protect the princess with you. The lizardfolk may or may not remember my family, but we do remember you. It may sway your opinion that i am on your side."
