Personality
Summer is quiet child that keeps to herself most of the time. She like to draw paint, and listen to her mother's stories. She doesn't like school and for a very good reason she finds herself in trouble quite a bit in school. She often does things that many of the other children don't do. In art she paints pictures of flying rainbow bunnies, or a cow with purple spots. She likes to sing the songs and tell the stories her mother has told her, but her teachers tell her that's wrong. It makes her sad to know that bunnies can't be rainbow or cows don't have purple spots.
Summer feels like maybe something is wrong with her, after she got mad when a teacher threw away her paintings. The administrator called her mommy, and told mommy that she might need special treatment. Summer doesn't want to go to special treatment the children that go there come back sick and she doesn't want that to happen to her. So mommy told her that it was okay to draw and paint pretty things like rainbow bunnies at home but to not do that at school anymore and that made Summer feel better. But not being able to do that makes school very boring for Summer.
"How come bunnies can't be rainbow colored?"
History
Born to Liam and Meredith Perch 12/12/2015, Summer has always lived down in the bunker. It was where she was born and as far as she knows it is the world. Other than the stories her mommy has told her of the surface world before the big war, she is oblivious to the beauty that may lie on the surface. She doesn't like her school, because she is often times punished for her imaginative behavior. Home life and school life are two different things for Summer. At home she is more free to be herself and encouraged to do so by her mother. But outside of home she does her best not to draw attention to herself as her mother has instructed her to.
She never really had a relationship with her father because he was rarely home. She had very few memories of Liam Perch and the ones she does are of arguments between him and her mother. Often times she is teased by other children because academically Summer has problems. This has led to the school administrators wanting to put Summer into special training, her mother talked them out of it and has gotten to the point where her daughter knows that somethings just have to be done at home.
"Hi my names Summer."
