The air is bittersweet as people prepare for the festival that night. Troops leave in the morning on a rescue mission for the daughter of their leader, Andrea Hanover. Everyone knows of the girl and were devastated when she did not return from the mission. She is considered as the people's princess of sorts, being the daughter of their leader. Another girl, Luci had been taken into captivity. However after some scoping and torture to captured troops, the rebels have figured out the location of the facility holding Andrea and Luci.

It is tradition among the rebels that the night before the mercenaries are sent on a mission, there is a festival in Utopia to see them off. Liquor that had been found while out on a mission and stowed away for this very occasion are brought out, a band with a guitarist, a drummer and a saxophonist along with a harmonists play music and tell stories of their victories.

The people rejoice and eat heartily. It is a time for celebration, although in the morning some wives may kiss their husbands good bye for the last time. The sun is low in the sky, and the festival will soon be in full throttle. The celebration is held deep into the caves, so that no music can be heard at the mouth of the cave where the thundering waterfall keeps the volume to a dull roar. However the music does echo down to the watering hole where there is yet another waterfall, much smaller than the one shielding the main entrance into their fortress.

The watering hole is not a public area, since there is a opening above for anyone to peak in, most people are told to stay away from the watering hole unless guards are above ground. Women frequent the water to wash clothes while their children play, but some of those higher in ranks tend to have their fun when the sun has set lazily wading through the water.

Women adorn flowers in their hair, men sport warrior paint across their face. Having been labeled as savages, the rebels have adapted some "savage traditions" such as face painting as a their own traditions. Soon people will dance and drink and be merry, through out all the caves tonight the people with celebrate like it's their last night to live.

The Hanover Men

The conference room had a slab of carefully crafted redwood oak, chairs made by the people pushed in around the oval shaped table. Of course Lou was at the head of the table. Connor and Drew faced the man as he spoke, the only other two at the table who would be joining Lou on this mission. Lou insisted they had to go over fine details and brief those who would be in charge in his leave on what to do in his absence. Of course they knew what to do, they had done it before, however Lou's picky nature made him fret over details.

The clothes they had were worn, old and from styles that went out years ago. But beggars could not be choosers, the clothes they had were what they could salvage when raiding abandoned homes or stores. Lou normally had the standard cargo pants, belted in place and a tee shirt or tank that hugged across his broad chest and tucked into the waist band of his pants. His boots, laced up, thudded as he paced - scratching the scruff across his lower half of his face. Tonight he would shave the scruff and what little hair he had grown out off before going to sleep, where as Drew sported his five o'clock shadow with no intention of cutting it off. His tousled dark locks fell messily over the tips of his ears, and while his father turned to face him, Drew habitually picked at his hair. It was an insecure twitch, whenever he felt on the spot light Drew couldn't stop the compulsion.

Lou's baritone voice continued on, "Conner, Drew...you have to understand how important your role is. The report is that there's an electric fence around the area - three buildings. One is a mess hall, the other an office, and the third one is the supposed entry point into the bunker. This will possibly be one of the most tragic missions we will execute. I'm not going to lie to you, it's very likely some of our men will be killed, but it won't be long until we join them.

"Conner, your team is pure stealth. My team will hijack a truck down the road, and load your team in. Once you are in the gated area, your primary purpose is to get down the electrical grid. Remember stealth is key, anyone who may compromise the mission is dead where they stand.

"Once the grid is down, their back up generator will most likely shut on, but most of their security defenses will be down. This is when Drew and I bring our troops in, Drew you will come from the left, I will bring us in through the south. At that point the objective is to get underground. Andrea will know what's going on at that point, it won't be long until he find her. Help who we can but remember saving Luci and Andrea is the primary objective. Kill all opposition."

It seemed simple enough, but sadly there was plenty opportunity for things to go wrong. If Lou was right there would be three levels of clearance, but hold the gun to the right one and he might be able to bully his way into the bunkers. The only thing the People had on their side was numbers and the element of surprise. The men they would fight, although equal in size, had weaponry that were a vast advancement from the guns the Rebels used. If they moved quick enough it could work, but there would be way too many of the rebels for all of them to be detained as well, surely.

Drew chuckled, drinking from his cup of water that had been mixed with berries and mint that were mashed together to make a concoction. "Dad, no offense but Conner and me have poured hours upon hours on going over this plan. Trust us, we got this!" The once stylish sweater he wore was a dreaded gray color, but a orange patch over the right elbow took away from its drab colored. Drew stood to his full stature of 6'3, stretching his toned limbs and making noises of satisfaction, "Come on, lighten up- the festival is tonight, we have the entire journey to go over tactics. Tonight, lets live!" With much gusto, Drew embraced his father so that they danced for a moment before Drew spun out, hopping just out of his fathers reach as he playfully struck at his son.

The tension in the room lessened as people began to pack up, Drew took it as a cue to leave before his father could see anything else. "Conner, wingman tonight?" He joked on his way out, Drew was anything but smooth with ladies, Conner was much better than himself. With most rebel girls though, they all wanted to settle down and start a family. There were a few, like Andrea, who couldn't even fathom bringing a innocent soul into such a horrid world, or a mourning widow was frequent enough. But tonight was when people would let their wild side out, there was no telling what would happen at the festivals the Rebels would hold. Hundreds of people would dance and laugh and drink, new faces be introduced and new friendships made. Within Utopia the people were constantly changing, although the entire underground city within the mountains was considered Utopia, the head quarters was within the largest mountain with the waterfall shielding the entrance. This is the mountain that Festivals were always held at.

Excited for what the night had to hold, Drew decided to stop at his room to get a change of clothes. Surely Lou would stop back at the Hanover household after the meeting. Andie, Drew and Lou all lived within the same "home" - three bedrooms chiseled around a living room and a dining room. But Lou normally avoided going home now, it felt empty with Andie being gone.

From his pocket, Lou withdrew a beaten brown Leather wallet. It was a relic from the world he used to live in, now used as a time capsule of sorts. He pulled out a picture of Andie posing for her softball team back in 2012, her hair braided into pigtails. She was little more than skin and bones then, now developing into a fine young woman. From time to time Lou had to remind himself not to kill his own men who gawked after her.

Glancing back to Conner, who had remained at the table, Lou showed his comrade the picture. "She'd kill me if she knew I showed you this, but she is just too damn precious...even with braces." Although his tone showed humor, there was evidence of compassion and care for his daughter. Shaking his head and burying his face into his hands, Lou groaned a plea of guilt. "This is all my fault." He said to no one in particular, unable to look at the picture of his girl again.

Drew didn't have any pictures of Andrea, so instead he just visited her room. Much like himself she had a hammock for a bed, and although to some that may have sounded uncomfortable, the hammock could easily hold three of four people, and with the tempurpedic pad Andrea had been lucky enough to salvage and colorful pillows complimenting the beige comforter made the hammock more inviting than any bed Drew had ever seen. Notebooks filled with her lyrics and poetry were stacked onto one of the shelves, along with books she had read. The whole room was a reflection of who she was, and damnit Drew missed her. She was his twin after all.

After washing up using the bin of water, Drew changed into straight leg khakis and a racerback white tank that both flattered his trim figure and defined muscles. Completely oblivious to his own good looks, Drew felt as if the stares the women gave him as he walked to the festival was because something was wrong. Perhaps he had something on his shirt, or face, and as he walked Drew checked himself, seeming a bit like a bumbling fool. It wasn't until he could smell the food that his stomach growled. "Damn," he murmured to himself, following the smell. It seemed other men had done the same, letting their stomachs lead the way. One enthused expression stood out from the others. "Bojangles! What up, brother?" The man was brilliant, although strange. But the brightest minds normally were. Some people didn't talk to Bojangles because of his strange out bursts or inappropriate behavior, but Drew found the man fascinating and hilarious. "I saw the new solar panels, dope. Wind power is the next innovation, Bo-boy."

It had been an interesting day for Bojangles. He got to experience heights again. A crowd gathered to watch, and he wasn't so sure whether their interest was in the solar panels or the one putting them in. Why anyone trusted Bojangles with such a job was in the air, but he thought it was because not many others knew how. His curiosity took advantage of the altitude, and he wondered "how long it'd take before a 'splat.'"

Bojangles was wrapping up his day, and changing out of his work clothes. It was really just swapping into something not as dirty, but he still wanted to look presentable. He doesn't always wear white shirts, but when he does, he wants to show off that he didn't make a mess. With a white t-shirt and denim shorts, he was ready to roll out into the crowd.

Food had been a priority from the get-go. He'd gotten his meal, but he still hung around to see if they'd feed him more. He'd been trying to tempt them when Drew came by. "Bojangles! What up, brother?" Bojangles turned to his name. "Oh hey, it's 1980." He shouldn't really be judging, since no one else says dude or "sweeeeet," but he didn't mind his vocabulary. "I hear ya, there's quite a draft in here... but you wanna talk about dope, my brother had the dopest pants man, I swear. They had like some samurai comic graphic shit going on on the side. Pretty sweet. Ah, miss my brother... then he got converted and haven't seen him since." Looking down, then back up he changed the subject. "When's your sister getting back? Miss Andie..." Andrea and Andrew were some of the few people who'd talk to him. Drew was still here, but less people to mess around with was a slight disappointment.

"Whatever, let's go. You know, when you all leave, someone'll have to keep all these ladies occupied. Don't worry, Bojangles's got it covered." He paused, looking over the crowd. "Aah... lets see what we got here. Widows and their daughters. Or another way to look at it: milfs and amateurs. All about perspective."

Lou Hanover

Promises were empty offer to Lou, yet as Conner promised to bring Andrea home, Lou forced himself to believe him. They had to bring Andrea home, it was either that or Lou would die trying. There was no way Lou would return to Utopia without his daughter. Sighing, Lou put away the picture, shaking his head. "I sure hope so."

A large duffel bag was tossed onto the table, and Lou belatedly noticed the entrance of the slight yet threatening Katerina. His eyes lit with surprise and appeasement. "The warehouse was where you said it would be boss...."

Of course Lou was right, he always was. With so many lives depending on his decisions, he had to be right. Pulling the bag in front of him, and as the woman continued to speak Lou rummaged through the goodies. A smile scrawled across his lips, Lou looked to Katerin with approval.

Her request for another job made Lou tilt his head in confusion. Then it dawned on her, Kat had been gone when Andie had been taken. Zipping up the bag, Lou pushed it aside and gestured Conner to the door. "Go ahead, I know you don't want to have to sit through this again." Lou said with a half smile. Once the man left, Lou looked back to Kat with a grim expression. "Tomorrow we head south to the border of Kansas. I have a friend that will help us sneak onto a train that transports coal that we can take most of the way out but I have to tell you, this is the most dangerous mission we've done yet.

"My daughter was taken, but those who returned from her team relayed enough information briefing us on an attack. It will be the first detention center we've raided and it will be a milestone in the Rebellion. You can come or you can stay here, you've done a lot for us and I will respect whatever choice you may make."

Lou stood to his full height, an intimidating mass of muscle pushing 6'7". The children would jump on his back, asking for rides, he remembered when Andie used to do the same thing. It seemed like everything reminded him of her. Shaking his head, Lou looked to Katerin with a subdued expression. "You can have some time to think it over, join us in celebration tonight! We will drink spirits and pretend like we aren't fighting for survival!" Grabbing the bag effortlessly, Lou put his hand on the small of the woman's back leading her out.

"If you decide to come with, meet us just at the waterfall, we will leave before noon." Lou added, walking away with a wave. Although Lou was the boss of the operation, he never enjoyed ordering people around. He felt as if forcing someone to do something was useless when someone who could do a better job would do it willingly. With Big Brother hoping to dull all human brains to little more fight to what they are told than an infant, Lou preferred to let people make their own decisions.

So with that Lou left Katerin to mull over her options, taking a detour through the watering hole. Some soldiers had already began horsing around, cheering as their leader joined them. Raising his arms in amusement, Lou grinned. "Sorry guys, not here to stay - just passing through." Foul torments were called out, all in good fun. It was rare to see his men so carefree, Lou couldn't be the one to ruin it. So instead of reprimanding them for their overly casual banter, Lou just laughed and entered the corridor that lead into the healing ward.

There were thankfully no one inside the makeshift infirmary, everyone was preparing for the festival. Leaving the bag on a table, Lou made a mental note to tell Nizhoni of the new supplies. Perhaps she could grab some in the morning of what she might need. The woman had many talents, and on the journey to save Andie, Nizhoni would be the only person with healing capabilities going along. He needed her to have the essential supplies.

Making sure to leave everything how it was when he walked in, Lou left the supplies at the ward and finally started heading to the festival. As if his thoughts had summoned her, Lou ran into Nizhoni just as they entered the mouth of the celebrations. "I was just looking for you," he said with a half smile, looking to the huskie that followed the Native American woman. "We got some supplies in, you would know better about what we might need than I would. Would you mind stopping at the healing ward before we leave tomorrow?" Lou knew that as loyal that Nizhoni was, she would oblige to an order given by Lou, so before she even finished answering Lou continued. "Thanks, Ni-Ni." He said, using the name the children would call her and winking before making his way to the podium that looked over the whole festival.

Drew Hanover

Quirking an eyebrow at the oddball, Drew chuckled. "Samurai pants huh? Your brother must've been the shit in his day." Sarcasm dripped from Drew's voice, a stale grin worn as he spoke. Drew always found the man entertaining, also from the get-go his name had been a comical relief. It took serious dedication to commit to an alias, and Drew had to hand it to the man - when people said 'Mr. Bojangles', they understood who that was.

As the topic switched to siblings, Drew slumped at Bojangles question. "Hopefully soon, seriously," picking at his hair, the man shrugged in contemplation, "the sooner the better. I saw what losing my mom did to my dad...I don't think he could take losing Andie too." Drew never pretended to be ignorant that his father favored Andie. It was strange because the two would persistently bump heads, yet the next minute Andie would cuddle up to their father apologizing and asking for a favor or Lou would be giving Andie a gift - buttering her up. They were like kids, truly.

But Lou had grown depressed, Drew could see it in the way he carried himself. It was subtle, something only someone very close would notice, but Drew knew his father kept most of his pain buried. It was what they had to do to keep pushing on.

At the mention of women, Drew perked, eyes alert. He may have been grieving the loss of his sister, but men had needs. Serving himself a plate, Drew motioned for Bojangles to follow as he found himself a seat. Digging into the food, Drew spoke with a full mouth. "Bo-Bo, you wouldn't be able to pick up a chick if she thought you were her long lost cell phone." Drew joked, punching Bojangles in the arm lightly. "If you get laid tonight and I don't, I'm killing myself."

Before Bojangles could respond, Lou's voice boomed across the crowd. As if sensing their leader had something to say, the people hushed, watching Lou intently from where he stood behind a podium.

"Americans..Latinos...Asains...Blacks..." He paused, staring over the crowd. Continuing to shovel food into his mouth, Drew had to resist the urge to snort with laughter at the reactions of those around him. Too many people within the rebellion looked up to Lou as if he were a God, which to Drew was absurd. He was a normal human being, just with a little extra muscle mass. Lou had faults as well, but people had the tendency to see past it. If only that's how it worked for me. Drew told himself.

Lou continued, "We are all human, and together we stand as the people. Many people want us dead, because we like to think for ourselves. Most people don't even know what we're doing for them..tomorrow we leave for one of the most batshit crazy mission I've ever conducted. To my men - it will be a damn good time for a damn good cause. Remember the Angels are on our side," he allowed a pause of reverence to resonate through the room before continuing, "but tonight we rejoice out liberty and our free will." Raising his goblet, others did the same, heartily drinking up the alcohol. Cheers erupted through out the crowd, and Drew shoveled the last bit of food in his mouth before scanning the room for Conner. The man was a total chick magnet, and if tonight was his last night in Utopia, Drew was going to get laid.

Bojangles nodded at the comment on his brother's reputation. "Sure was." When he was younger, he didn't really know what his brother had meant. When he grew older, he started to understand it more. Bojangles heard many ideas of freedom first from his brother, and his sibling's capture was a big push in radicalizing him. He heard Drew speak of his dad, and he gave his friend a bit of reassurance. "Ah, your dad'll be alright. You've all put with me haven't you?" While it was mostly sarcastic, Bojangles was unaware of how many times he may of pissed them off.

As Drew took a plate, Bojangles sneaked one for himself as well. Directed to a seat, he went with his friend. "Bo-Bo, you wouldn't be able to pick up a chick if she thought you were her long lost cell phone. If you get laid tonight and I don't, I'm killing myself." His arm was nudged, and Bojangles was a bit surprised with the words. "Yea-" he was cut off by Lou. "Jesus!" The shout had startled him a bit, not enough to jump out of his chair, but enough to flail his arms and turn to the source.

Lou started his speech by listing off ethnicity, and Bojangles was unsure what was happening. When he continued, he started to ponder. Do they really think for themselves? If they thought individually, then why would they all look up to one person who could gather them like sheep? He continued but paused at the word 'Angels'. Bojangles leaned to Drew, "What if you're agnostic?" He shrugged the comment off, "just saying" and returned to hear the rest.

At the cheer, Bojangles reached next to his chair and lifted a maroon Nalgene bottle full of applesauce. Unscrewing the top with a smile on his face, he brought it to his mouth for the sauce to slowly drip. "Good stuff right there."

Bojangles spotted a new face in the crowd, a search of his memory was needed. "Ain't that one of your dad's mercenaries? Hot one at that.... you said I wouldn't get a girl tonight? Well, we'll see about that." He rose from his chair and tapped Drew on the shoulder. "Watch my bottle will ya." He approached Katherin with a bit of confidence- it had diminished slightly when he neared. "Uh.. wanna dance?" His cheeks were a bit red, and he'd known it. He'd forgotten to wipe his face, and didn't know how dirty it was-hopefully enough to mask his blushing.

People seemed to be having a great time and Kat chuckled silently while sipping her drink as she listened to the various conversations going on. A couple of soldiers were having a drinking game, another few were having a serious discussion. Nearly every woman she could hear was oggling the guy that walked it. She shrugged and reached to fill up her glass when a girl stopped next to her.

"Hiii~ Um... you work with the Commander right? Could you uh possibly share some tips in..." Kat stopped listening and continued to fill up her drink. Commander? Who the hell is she talking about?

"Nah. Whatever it is you're gonna have to do it on your own."

The girl blinked before smirking. "Ah I see. You want him to yourself."

Kat snorted and took a drink, enjoying the burn all over again. She would really need to find out what she was drinking. "Nope."That's right, I know who it is now. Dammit you need to start remembering names Kat!

Thankfully before the girl could say anything more someone else caught her attention. "Uh...wanna dance?"

She wasn't quite sure why the guy who had walked up to her had asked that question but she could hear some of the other rebels in the background start chuckling and pausing their conversations to see what would happen. Kat ignored them for the most part and took a sip of her drink. He seemed nervous and she gritted her teeth again the pang it brought. Push it away, don't think about it. Hadn't she seen this guy hanging around with Drew?

"Well...guy I don't have a name for... I don't know how to dance." She shrugged. Behind her a rebel laughed loudly before standing up and placing his hand across her back to land on her right arm .She hid the wince as his fingers pressed the cut hidden under her jacket.

"Come oooon Kat, have some fun. Bo~jang~les ain't gonna hurt ya."

She moved out of his stupid arm and took another drink. "I said I don't know how." she had seen this guy with Drew, and now she knew his name. Hoorah for progress.

"Ok ok....didn't think you were one to back down from a challenge." The man took a few steps away before Kat growled. Dammit! Now she had to dance. She turned to set her drink down before grabbing the guy's Bojangles hand and walking off a few steps. Kat could hear the rebel cheering as she walked away. She turned to look at her now dancing partner over her shoulder.

"If you laugh at me, I'll rip your spine out and feed it to you, I was serious when I said I don't know how."

Drew Hanover

Drew hadn't expected any less from the people as they cheered for his father. Drew sat by silently, shoveling into his food. He noticed a few people give him disapproving glances, then double take when they recognized his face. However Drew was rarely around Utopia anyhow, despite it being home. As Bojangles retorted, Drew drank the whiskey con ganas, eyes scanning the room.

Like groupies, as soon as Conner walked into the festival, women flocked to him. Looking down to his casual attire, Drew tinged with jealousy that yet again Conner had managed to out stage him. Conner and Drew being the two leading commanders in the rebel army, it seemed unusual that Conner frequently was more in the limelight than Drew.

Even within the chain of command, Lou was significantly harder on Drew then any other soldier. He allowed no mistakes from his son but allowed leniency to others. Seeing that Drew had always been the one to diffuse arguments that Andie would spur with classmates, teachers or parents , Drew had always just been Andie's big brother. That was how he was identified. Not as a casanova, or a brooding enigma - surely not a lady charmer.

Frankly flirting with a girl made Drew's palms sweaty. He barely was able to experience middle school before the revolution began, since he was fourteen Drew's whole life has been dedicated to the revolution and their war. He couldn't dare ask his dad for advice. The man would scoff and say that Drew needed to have his mindset in the right way. Another way Lou and Andie were alike - they were so afraid of ever being vulnerable they ran away from intimacy.

But Drew craved intimacy. Hookups with girls who found him fumbling over his words endearing and not strange wasn't enough. Drew needed someone to feed his confidence, build him up when he was down. Although Drew was an emotional pillar for many people, he had nobody to confide his inner fears and flaws. But when approaching a pretty girl for the first time, Drew couldn't help but to freeze up, and how could he find a companion when he could barely say hi?

It seemed that Conner didn't have even say hi before he was lip locked with Nina, Kaleb's wore an expression of bitter amusement, shaking his head and looking to the woman Bojangles pointed out. "Oh yea, Kat, she's pretty fine - but damn you see that woman in action and you will fear your life. All it takes is one bad sex move and snap," Drew snapped his fingers just before Bojangles' eyes as an added affect, "your manhood will get squeezed right off like a sausage." It was a joke, in bad taste at that. However Drew had already sloshed down half his goblet, patting his full stomach with satisfaction as he leaned back.

Raising his eyebrow to the man who had rose to challenge the deadly but beautiful Katherin. "As you wish." Drew smirked, gesturing Bojangles along.

Following Bojangles as he crossed paths with Katherin, Drew rested his elbow on his knee, leaning forward. Forming a fist, her supported it under his chin as he watched the two interact. At first Drew had began to believe that Kitty would scratch, but by her body language it seemed as if she might have said yes. How could Bojangles of all people be able to just go up to a girl and ask her to dance and Drew couldn't? Before Drew could figure out if Kat had said yes, a heavy hand clamping onto his shoulder drew him from his psuedo reality.

Alcohol heavy on Conners breath, Drew flinched as he breathed a "Hey", barely audible over the celebrations. Nodding his head in acknowledgement, Drew stood so that he and Conner were at the same height, tucking his hands into his front pockets. "Hey, you made it in time to hear the we are Sparta bit." Drew joked, gesturing to his father who had been roped into sitting with the women closer to his age group whom fawned over him with sincere affection. Letting his dark eyes scan the room, Drew looked for the girl Conner had left behind. "What happened to your new little friend?" Drew asked with a grin.

On her way to were the crowd was Nizhoni ran into Luis.
"I was just looking for you, we got some supplies in, you would know better about what we might need than I would. Would you mind stopping at the healing ward before we leave tomorrow?"

"Sure thing Luis, I'll-"
"Thanks Ni-Ni." he'd say, cutting her off with a wink and a small smile before walking towards the podium that looked over the crowd.
Nizhoni narrowed her eyes at Luis as if annoyed with his usage of "NiNi", but the huge smile on her face gave away the fact that she was actually more amused than anything else.

Luis's speech was more of the same, and Nizhoni spent more time observing peoples reactions to the words being spoken than looking up towards the podium. It always amazed her how easily people - herself included - fell in line to be followers, and the looks upon many of these peoples faces were the same looks people use to give her father, which made her sigh.

Soon enough Luis was done speaking, and Nizhoni would begin to aimlessly wander about - saying hi to random people and taking questions about her attire from the children, as usual, while Nubia ran about on her own. But when all the woman began to whisper "he's here, he's here!" she became curious and started to stare on in the same direction as them, that is until Conner walked by - causing her to roll her eyes a bit.

"What is it with these women and that man, you'd think he was a King or something." she'd wonder to herself, before pushing through the crowd of women.
She wouldn't get too far before again spotting Conner, but this time with a girl who was known for being rather bold & loose shoving her tongue down his throat.

"Lovely." Nizhoni would whisper aloud, before walking up towards a young man with a tray of water and grabbing a tall glass, which she'd down nearly half of before again taking off again into the festivities.

Coming to stop beside some laughing men and women she'd catch a glimpse of Bojangles being pulled by Kat towards an area were everyone was dancing, and couldn't help but laugh a bit herself before catching wind of Drew and Conner's voices behind her.

"What happened to your new little friend." she'd hear Drew ask Conner as she took a sip to drink, which nearly made her spit her water up from laughter, but after regaining her composure she'd turn around and walk towards both of them.

"Hey Drew," she'd say with a genuine smile, before looking over towards Conner. "Hi Conner, would you like my drink to wash your mouth out?"
Nizhoni would barely get the sentence out before she began to laugh.
"I'm sorry Conner, I just couldn't help myself." she'd let out in-between giggles. "Kudos to attracting loose women" she'd remark while holding up her glass towards Conner as if she was giving a toast, before taking a sip and looking back over to Drew.
"If you're looking for that woman I'd start with every available man in Utopia, she's known for well um, being loose....even the children call her 'Everybody's mama', but if that's what you want she's easy enough to get I suppose."
She'd have to bite her lip to keep herself from asking Drew if he was crazy for going after such a girl. To her he was better than that and she couldn't quite understand why he'd want to settle for such a trashy woman, but since she couldn't bring herself to actually say such a thing she'd instead turn around and stare over towards Kat and Bojangles again.
"Is it the Apocalypse all over or what? Kat dancing with Bo, I can't even begin to understand that one" she'd joke, while drinking the last of her water.

"Well, I think I'm gonna go to our little impromptu bar and get something to drink before I go for a swim, see you two later."
Nizhoni would smile and wave as she walked away, and once she caught sight of the table of drinks she'd pick up her pace.

"Nizhoni!"
"Bob! Nice to see you again!" she'd say to the older man standing behind Utopias version of a bar. "Have anything with bubbles?"
"Well you're actually lucky me and my boy like you so much, I'll go get some home brew for ya - just watch my table for me kay?"
She'd agree with a smile and make her way behind the table as the man walked off, It was the least she could do to watch his table at the offer of something other than the same ol' moonshine and water nearly everyone else was drinking. Ever since she was young Nizhoni had a thing for soda and beer, carbonation was a dear friend in her book.

Bojangles stood as Kat tried to find out who he was. A fellow rebel stepped in, and he didn't know whether the stranger was helping him or teasing him. He saw Kat hiding back a wince, and noted to refrain from touching her shoulder. With the comment Drew made earlier, Bojangles didn't want to do something so foolish as to rub a wound of hers.

It was successful, and she grabbed his hand and led him off. As they walked, his gait was already altering to the music. The swagger in his step was already synchronizing and he started to bob.

"If you laugh at me, I'll rip your spine out and feed it to you, I was serious when I said I don't know how." Her words surprised him. She sure was a straightforward one. "Jesus! Relax.. no one here's gonna notice. They're all too trashed and'd be tripping over their feet." Kat seemed to be really worried that she didn't know how. "Well, you heard my name. They don't just call me Mr. Bojangles for nothin'." Bojangles was now raised a bit-he was standing on the balls of his feet. He started to bounce a bit, telling her "Just gotta be in time.." He was bobbing side to side now, and hoping she'd do the same and keep up, and not hold him to slow down. Noticing his bobbing and how his arms were held, "Ha, sorta like Mortal Kombat." Bojangles began to exaggerate his fists and movement, but he was sure the point went across.

He started to poke her sides and arm playfully every so often, hoping that she wouldn't break his arms. Bojangles was sure she knew at least twenty ways to do so. Looking around, he'd seen Conner and Nizhoni had entered. Both people that would be gone tomorrow. Bojangles wondered how the children would react. Some of the children were probably afraid of him, a few might of looked up to him, but he deemed that unlikely. Who would then run to, to hide from Bojangles when Nini was gone?

Returning his thoughts to his partner, he watched Kat. He hoped he'd been successful and she would open up a bit.

Within ten minutes Bob had returned with a 2-liter royal blue bottle - rigged with a plug in top - full of home brew, causing a huge smile to form on Nizhonis face.

"Wow, nice bottle - rig that up yourself?" Bob snickered. "No, looks like something I'd do thought doesn't it!"
Nizhoni would reach into her pocket at the same time she asked what Bob wanted for the drink - bottle included, however the older man just smiled and told her it was on him.
"Oh Bob come on, there has to be something you want for it!"
"Listen here, If I wanted something for it I would of made ya pay me before I walked my old bones back there! Now take it, just don't tell anybody where ya got it from kay?"

She'd sigh in defeat before giving Bob a huge hug. "You got it hun!"

Several minutes later, after finding her beloved Nubia, Nizhoni casually strolled away from the festivities and found her way to the watering hole. The guards on duty let her pass easy enough since they knew A) she could take care of herself, and B) there were enough guards above ground that a commotion would definitely be heard long before an enemy could make it anywhere close to the watering hole's opening.

"Shhh! Someones coming!!" she heard a woman whisper, and sure enough as Nizhoni hit the waters edge she'd spot a young couple in a hole in the wall wearing their undergarments - she assumed their other clothing was further down the hole they lay in.

"Shit! It's her.....she's serves under Drew, we're so screwed!"
Nizhoni couldn't help but giggle at the teens fear of her turning them in, but being only a few years older than them herself she'd sigh, stare up at them several yards away, and call out;
"I see nothing, and I hear nothing.....as long as you two work yourself a little further into that hole, so if someone else comes down here they don't see you as easily I did - deal?" The girl was too shocked to answer, but her boyfriend quickly yelled back; "DEAL?, TOTALLY!"

Once she couldn't see their feet any more Nizhoni would climb up a rocky staircase of sorts until she reached the highest point along the caves wall, a story and a half up. She'd stretch her arms above her head for a quick second before sitting down w/ her feet hanging over the edge.
"You afraid of heights all of a sudden?" she'd tease her husky, who refused to sit beside her, an instead laid down against the wall several feet back.

Ten minutes or so would pass before she'd begin to hear sounds coming from the hole in the wall across the way that weren't all that hard to decipher.

"Great, just what I wanna hear." Nizhoni would joke, before pushing herself up on her feet - more than half the bottle of beer beside her now gone.
Her top was the first thing to come off, followed by her skirt. She'd then remove her white cotton & lace brassiere - electing to leave the bottoms, and her boots, on..

"Last chance to join me." she'd say to Nubia, but the seven old husky simply twitched her ears a bit.
"Fine," and with that she'd slowly make her way to the edge and then fall into the water below - backwards.

After she hit she'd allow herself to go under, an as soon as she began to feel her body floating back up Nizhoni would start to swim deeper down.
The water was no more than 20-25ft. deep in the center so it took her only seconds to reach the bottom.
Unlike most she could hold her breath for nearly ten minutes if her mind was clear and calm, so she'd take her time swimming along the floor - looking for anything interesting. It would be nearly three minutes later when she'd finally spot something that caught her eye - an arrow head.
Grabbing it in haste Nizhoni would then swim back up to the top, and once her head broke the surface she'd scan over the arrow head in amazement.

"This can't be real, that would just be...crazy" she'd whisper to herself, as she bobbed up and down in the center of the pond - where the water just barely covered her chest.

Before Conner could even respond, Nizhoni swept between them, throwing her head back in a carefree laugh. The torches along the walls flickering light reflected of the sheen across her prominent cheek bones - pulled high in a smile. Drew had known and operated with Nizhoni for years, and she was one of the few beautiful females he felt comfortable being himself around. With a bemused expression, Drew nodded Nizhoni as if to egg her on as she began to dig into Conner about the girl Drew remembered as Nina and the children supposedly knew as 'everybody's momma'. As Conner sent him a warning not to try for the easy shot, Drew threw his hands up as if he were proving they were empty, "I'm not that desperate." It was a little sad that Drew was infamous for his poor game with woman, he thought.

Shaking his head at the two as they bantered back and forth, drinking the rest of his beverage. Dark eyes moving across the room, Drew managed to find Bojangles in the crowd. The man was simply killing it on the dance floor. Truly a man of many hats, the ever amusing Mr. Bojangles never failed to have a good time. The only thing that prevented Drew from bursting out with laughter was seeing that dancing alongside of him was none other than Katherin. So she had said yes.

Ridiculous! Even Bojangles had better luck than him. Turning to the bar, Drew indicated a refill as Conner turned to him to ask "Does by breath smell that strongly? What was that woman drinking?"

Annoyed, Drew playfully pushed Conner back by his shoulder. "No offense dude but I'm not trying to smell your breath...or hear any complaints about a beautiful woman randomly coming up to kiss you." Once his cup was refilled, Drew turned to face the crowd once more, giving Conner a look to let him know he poked fun all in good harm.

The crowd had withered down to the young adult age group, most parents taking their children to bed. These hours were when the craziest things would happen. Bodies thrashing together in a liberating samba of life, confetti being thrown into the air. People hunted for glitter just for occasions like this, to throw it in the air and on each other, sparkles raining down. It looked like fun.

But one person seemed a little stressed. Katherin came to where the men stood, ordering a drink and washing it down with an edge before asking for another. He meant to ask her if she was okay, he really did. Katherin was an amazing asset to the team, and if she were to be under the weather when they were just about to start the mission that could be bad. As a commander he did take concern, but tantalizing fingers across his broad chest made his nice guy part of the brain completely shut off. "You are just as tall as Mr. Conner......and just as handsome."

Her forward approach threw him off, and Drew found himself struggling for the right words, awkwardly stammering "I....uh....yea....thanks. My dads tall too."

Oh how he wish he could slap himself! My dads tall too!?!??! who says shit like that? This guy, supposedly. Of course everyone knew Lou was tall, he was a giant- both in height and muscle mass. Yet once again Drew found himself blurting out something stupid instead of taking his time to think it through. Luckily the girl identified as Sarah didn't seem to mind much. She pressed her weight against him, invading his personal space. Beside him, her twin was against Conner, informing him that she and her sister wanted to take Conner as their own little toys tonight. And although Drew found it as an appealing idea, he couldn't help but to be repulsed at how the girls had thrown themselves at him.

However Drew was a man, and like most men he was able to push aside mild distaste for temporary pleasure. Letting Sarah lace her fingers with his, Drew let Sarah lead him through the throng of people, Kayla and Conner following just behind.

He didn't realize where she was taking them, until he saw the familiar structure of the watering hole. It seemed empty for the most part, and once Sarah let go of Drew's hand and began to strip her clothes, Drew averted his eyes out of discomfort and respect. "Don't be shy." Cooed Sarah as she teased with the hem of his shirt. Pulling him toward the water, Drew glanced back at Kayla and Conner to see they were in their own world. Shrugging, Drew pulled off his shirt, kicking his shoes aside and joining Sarah in the water. She complained the water was cold, enticing Drew to wrap his arms around her tentatively. "I like a strong man." She breathed hotly before crashing her lips against his.

Bojangles was having a wonderful time. It appeared Kat was too, she was smiling and so was he. Maybe this would last? His hopes were denied when she slowly shut down. Her arms dropped to her side, her fingers were twitching- Bojangles knew something was wrong. Kat leaned to him, saying she needed a drink. He was glad that he wasn't the problem, but he still wanted to be the solution. It worried him that she didn't feel well.

He followed her to the bar, though people didn't brush out of the way so easily for him. Bojangles went straight for Kat- well almost. He was certain to make a stop and get his applesauce while he was it. Conner was there now, and so was Nizhoni. Bojangles had come back in time to hear two tramps conversing with then. "You are just as tall as Mr. Conner." Bojangles had always poked fun with Drew and Conner on their height- he wasn't that much taller then them, and that's why he did it. Just for the irony. "Yea, lucky you. You managed to find two midgets at a bar. Now there's a nice joke..." He bent over and scooped up his bottle, leaving Conner and Drew with one last remark. It was more over directed at Drew, as he swatted his arm since he didn't really know how well Conner would take it. "Remember, hide the evidence. Tie that bag up real tight, and they won't find a trace. You know, I've been thinking too. With rape-murder, you rape then murder, and it's two charges. But, if they're dead, they can't consent anyway, so you'll just be charged with murder. Or, better yet, just wait for jumpers. If it's suicide, then you won't even get anything! It'd just be a free ride."

A few had overheard Bojangles and their mouths were dropped, and eyes glared in disappointment. "What?" Disregarding their glances, he returned to Kat. Being careful not to get on the wrong side of her, he put his arm across her back and on her side. "Hey, you alright?" Bojangles lowered his voice, to a more gentle tone. He hoped she'd see that he cared, and not decide to attack him for touching her.

The sound of foot steps pulled Nizhonis attention away from the arrowhead, and within seconds she'd spot four familiar faces - Drew, Conner, and twins Kayla & Sarah.
"Oh this oughta be good" she would mutter sarcastically while slowly submerging herself into the water until it reached right under her nose.
She wasn't one to spy but the situation just happened upon her not the other way around, so reluctantly she watched as the woman stripped out of her clothing.
It was of no surprise to Nizhoni to see discomfort written all over Drews face, he wasn't a dog and most surely wasn't as experienced as Conner - even though he seemed to wanna be.

"Don't be shy!" she'd hear Sarah tease before the woman began to pull Drew towards the water.
At this point she wished she was anywhere else in the world, but being too uncomfortable with the idea of stepping out of the water in front of them she'd stayed put. However it wouldn't take long before the whole situation began to really irk her.
"I like a strong man" was the last thing she'd hear Sarah say before the girl planted a huge kiss on Drew, which was the straw that broke the camels back.
"I like a strong man!? Seriously Drew!" Nizhoni would quietly snap to herself, and within seconds she'd begin to make her way towards the waters edge - totally wanting out. She'd part her hair in the back and swing her long black locks around to the front so by the time she began to walk onto the shore her chest would easily be covered.
Avoiding eye contact with all four of them she'd put on a fake smile and throw her hands up as she made her way towards the same staircase-like formation she walked up earlier. "Pay me no mind, I'm just leaving."

Once beside Nubia again - who was now wide awake & staring down over the edge at Drew & Sarah - Nizhoni would turn her back to the water and ring her hair out over her right shoulder.
"I like strong men.....I can't believe she actually said that, how easy!" she'd repeat over in her head while she put on her top and then picked up her bra and bottoms - slinging them over her shoulder. "Come on Nubia."

The two would take only a few steps back down the cave wall before Nizhoni ran back up to get the half-empty bottle of beer. "Definitely don't want to forget this!!" she'd mutter, before again making her way back down towards where Conner and Kayla where.
The smile she'd give them was small an again fake, and she'd glance back at Drew and Sarah for a few seconds before shaking her head and walking away from the watering hole - water dripping off of her with each and every step. She'd have to snap her fingers to get Nubia to follow, since the Husky obviously wanted to stay and play all of the sudden now that it was time to leave.
"Maybe later, kay?" Nizhoni would say, as she bent down to rub her ever-loyal companions head.

Once back in her room she'd close her door a bit harshly, throw her bra and skirt on a table, and then pull the daggers out her boots before kicking them off so she could flounce down on her bed - bottle in hand.
Nizhoni wouldn't admit to being jealous, an instead spent the next several minutes downing the rest of her beer and staring up at the ceiling.
"I wish I could understand why he wants to be a chick magnet so bad, even Conner can't stand half the slutty women who hit on him! Besides, just flirting with girls makes Drew nervous!" he'd whisper aloud, before sighing.

The beer she had left would vanish pretty quickly, an after realizing she was soaking her bed sheets Nizhoni would found a towel, dry herself off, and then slip into a black robe she had found a few years back. She knew she should try to sleep, but with her mind racing at the moment she decided to visit the infirmary and gather the supplies Luis mentioned them needing earlier in the evening.
Her tan sling-backpack is what she usually brings on missions, so she'd grab it and a dagger - never one to go out and about without SOME kind of weapon on her - before heading out. Nubia would again elect to stand guard outside the door instead of a following her as she'd backtracked the same way she came from the watering hole to get to the infirmary near it.

Lou Hanover

The festivities were in full swing, and Lou watched as the crowd widdled down to the younger crowd who had the tendency to get a little wild. As the older women of the rebels, the ones who watched over orphaned children and the elderly, shoved their own homemade dishes into the mouth of Lou. He would compliment their food, and maybe their barrette or their eyes. Lou never had the problem of comfort ability around women. With Anaiz everything was as easy as breathing, before the twins came along sometimes they would drive out into the desert and just lay in the bed of his truck - trying to count the stars.

He saw his belated wife everywhere he looked, all the time. In the smile of the woman who feed him seasoned beef, in the twinkle of the eye of Agnes - the oldest and wisest woman of the people at the tender age of 86. Especially in Andrew, the intense expressions he would take sometimes when someone caught him dazing off. Andrea was a spitting image of her mother at her age, although her spitfire personality was more like her father than anything. Sometimes when it was just the Hanover clan at home, Drew would make Andie laugh so hard she would shriek with laughter, much like Anaiz once did.

It had been six years and still Lou could not get Anaiz out of his mind. She was all he thought about before he fell asleep, and it was because of that fact that Lou had never felt as if he should find another mate. Yes the women among the rebellion were beautiful and strong, just how he liked his women, but no one could compare to Anaiz.

Putting his hands up in protest as another forkful of food was forced before him, Lou laughed heartily. "Ladies, are you trying to make me pop before i leave on my next mission. The men do need some sort of leader to tell them what to do, and if I eat another bite i will be on bed rest for weeks." He patted his belly as if to make a point as the women giggled.

"Alright then Luis, but don't think I'll let you off so easily next time." Said Rachel, a woman who had expressed her romantic interest in Luis years ago. Lou just laughed, gathering his trash to throw out and saying a good bye to those around him. If he wanted to be alert tomorrow, he would have to get a good night sleep.

Glancing to where he had last seen Drew, Lou could see a rather loose seeming woman hanging off of him. Shaking his head, Lou stifled a chuckle as he threw his trash into the bin. Although he would rather see his son with a respectable woman rather than some floozy, Lou knew that Drew didn't have the charm that Luis and Andie shares. One day Lou hoped Andie would find a nice wife for her twin, and introduce the two and be there the first couple dates so Drew didn't make a fool of himself. It wasn't a topic he and Andie hadn't gone over before. The Hanover men had to carry on their name, and to put it frankly having their legacy rest in the hands of Drew left Lou a little nervous.

Standing to his full stature, Lou waved to the woman as a good bye. "Thank you ladies for the wonderful food and the entertaining conversation." He said with a smirk, winking at one of the women. They cooed a good bye in return, giggling like school girls as he walked away. The halls of Utopia were pretty much empty. There were some handsy couples pressed into the dark corners, even one girl throwing up into a bucket while her friend held her hair, laughing hysterically. It almost reminded Lou of things normal people used to worry about, suffer a walk of shame the next morning. For people here it was more like a rare occurance. So instead of reprimanding them, Lou just continued on to the home he shared with his children.

It wasn't much, Andie had done her best to live up the place, she had painted illustrations on the wall, use blankets and pillows she found on missions to find supplies for the people as a way to add color to the clay colored walls. Sighing, Lou stopped in the entrance of Andie's room. A smile toyed on his lips as he fondly remembered teasing her for turning their shared home into her project. She had always whined that everything was always so drab and boring. She always loved color.

Soon he thought as a promise, turning his back on her room and going into his to change into some loose fitting cotton pants and getting comfortable in his over sized hammock before drifting into sleep.

Drew Hanover

Now that Drew had worked through the initial awkward phase, he began to unstiffen. His hands were less questionable, and now handling her gentle flesh with a roughness. Girlish exhales and low guttural moans showing his touch was pushing the beautiful flower named Sarah. His kisses had been short, tentative. But as their bodies melded closer and closer beneath the cool water, languid tongues met in synchronization, while his teeth occasionally would bite her lip, nails scraping her thighs as he pulled her tight. It seemed Sarah had gotten more than she had bargained for, but sadly a voice that mirrored Sarah cut through the heat.

"Hey Drew, you play with yourself while your alone, don't you?"

Furrowing his brow, Drew began to stiffen, stilling his lips. Confused, he turned his head to Kayla, and in his drunked state he believed the very same girl who stood by the water was the same as the one in his arms. 'You think about Conner sometimes too. I know you do.' Narrowing his eyes, Drew released Sarah from his arms, taking two paces back as if both Sarah's repulsed him to retreat. "What the hell kind of joke are you saying?" His inhibitions had lowered, and the reserved Drew could feel his boiling point teetering.

But before Kayla could answer, another figure emerged in the moon light that shined through the mouth of the cave that looked into the sky. Before he could recognize the face he heard her voice, "Pay me no mind, I'm just leaving." A vision in the pale light, Nizhoni had her dark long locks pushed foward, the white linen of her undergarments basically see through. It was all Drew could do not to stare. He had always seen Nizhoni as one of his men but there was no denying she was a woman. Once she left, Drew looked at the others with mild distaste, shaking his head. "Fuck this, I'm leaving too."

Grabbing his things on his way out, Drew took a different route to his home, one that let him take a long walk before returning home to pestering questions lest Lou was still awake.

Everything had died down for the most part, the halls strewn with evidence of the festival. Slumping as he walked, Drew took his time meandering through the lower twisting caves of Utopia. He knew these tunnels like the back of his hand, it was built to confuse and trap those who weren't familiar with it's twists. Even inebriated Drew was able to fall into a familiar step, roaming the halls as his mind drifted.

He had walked away from the one girl who had shown interest in him for a while, maybe a couple months. Yet there was something so unsettling on the perception that it seemed so many people had on him. Women could be so cruel, why shouldn't Drew he nervous to talk to one of them? Leaning against a wall, Drew slid so that he was comfortable on the floor. He had already put on his shoes properly, but hadn't noticed yet his shirt was inside out. Bloodshot eyes stared blankly ahead and through it all his mind went from the twins at the water hole to his own twin thousands of miles away. He couldn't wait to get his little sister back, as much of a pain in the ass she was. Burying his face into his hands, Drew attempted to sober up before braving his father at home.

Once outside the infirmary's door Nizhoni waved to the guard and mention that Lou sent her to retrieve supplies, which led the man to step out of the way.

The room wasn't something you would of found in Mount Sinai Medical Center or anything as modern, but the small makeshift infirmary was the best they could do in such conditions, and many lives have been saved thanks to it.
"Supplies supplies supplies, what do we have here!?" she'd whisper under her breath as she made her way towards the box of things Kat had brought in hours ago.

By the time she was done the front of her bag would be filled with various things, but mostly consisted of the top important items - antibiotics, pain killers, medical disinfectant wipes, and bandages.

"God it's hot in here!" she'd muttered just as the guard came inside to see if everything was okay.
"Tell me about it, and you're barely wearing anything so imagine how I feel."
His smile was cocky and his eyes inviting but Nizhoni wasn't interested. So instead she'd zipped up her bag, sling it over her shoulder, and pat the guy on the shoulder.
"Well I'll pray for some central air to magically appear down here for ya, okay?" she'd joke with a smile before walking out the infirmary.

It was becoming quiet in Utopia as things died down, but Nizhoni still had the beat of the music from earlier in her head, so she'd begin to sway to her own humming as she walked - all while braid her hair messily over her left shoulder.
She was more than half the way back to her room when she spotted a familiar figure on the ground with his back against the wall of the cave.

"Drew?" she'd ask in a bit of a surprised tone. "Since when where you such a lightweight?" Nizhoni spoke in a soft friendly tone as she leaned her shoulder against the wall beside Drew.
She'd notice his shirt was inside out and fumble over reason why in her head before speaking up again.
"Let me guess, avoiding home until the alcohol wears off some? Well I'd bet anything your dad's asleep by now - it's pretty late. So here let me help you up, you should be trying to get some sleep tonight."

After stepping back a bit in front of him she'd hold her hand out towards Drew and smile. She knew how it felt to fear for the life of a sibling, which in hindsight made her understand him wanting to forget everything in a bottle of alcohol an a pair of loose women. When her brothers left never to return it was all she could do to stay sane, and that was with far less responsibilities on her shoulders than Drew had now.
