Strengths: Deception, One-on-One Combat, Long Range Combat

Weakness: Strength, Group Combat

Appearance: Image Angel has jet black hair that falls to her waist, so she usually ties it up, and lightly tanned skin, with red-honey colored eyes. She is taught and toned from years of ribbon dancing in festivals, and wears revealing clothes to distract her enemies and keep herself cool. She has a naturally high body temperature.

Personality: Sweet and flirty, Angel is all about distracting and deceiving her enemies. She enjoys singing, dancing, and entertaining her teammates, and is very comfortable being in close quarters with anyone. However inexperienced she may seem, when it comes to combat, she is demon-like, becoming a bloodthirsty assassin.
Backstory: Though originally from the Jungle Fief, Aethyra has lived in Volcano Fief since she was four. Her mother was a brothel maiden, and her father an unknown customer. When she was old enough, Aethyra began to sing and dance for the customers of the brothel, and her mother said she was like an angel. Aethyra liked the nickname, and began to use it as a sort of stage name. She had dreams to leave Volcano Fief and travel as a minstrel, but then a man attempted to kill the brother maidens. Aethyra does not remember the incident, merely that when she was next aware, her mother, a few of the maidens, and the man, were all dead, and she was clutching the knife. She left Volcano Fief as quickly as possible, keeping the blade, and training herself in knife-fighting and archery, using her other known skills to her advantage, and hasn't spoken of her past since, instead becoming a sultry assassin.

So begins...

"The mockingbird sings in the trees, 'How lonely are we, we are alone tonight, dearest, how lonely are we...'" Aethyra's voice was haunting and sad, preceding her through the dark forest. The song was sad, but it didn't dampen her mood; she was searching for someone, someone important.

The forest was restless tonight, critters crawling over everything as she made her way through the dense trees. She didn't mind the dark, no, but she minded the silence, the silence was the most terrifying thing she'd ever experienced.

Where exactly was she headed? Who was this Renegade she was supposed to be meeting? She wasn't completely sure. But she knew that she had her singing. That was all she really needed.

"How lonely are we, dearest, how lonely are we..."

She stepped through the trees into the line of firelight, two people sitting before her at what looked like some sort of camp. She grinned automatically, surveying the scene; were these two friend or foe? She couldn't quite tell yet, but she would find out.

"Well, hello, little Mockingbirds! Seems we've flown into a flock, haven't we?"

Ace shot up to her feet and spun around to the newcomer. This could be dangerous, and maybe even a trap.

'I'm so stupid! Why did I come here? These two could probably take Ace down,' Ace thought, her eyes darting back to The Renegade.

He didn't seem threatening, and the newcomer didn't act as if she was going to attack. Ace relaxed a bit, but kept her hand near her blade just in case.

"Yeah, I guess you could call it a flock," Ace mumbled, and looked to The Renegade.

"What kind of work? I don't have much muscle, so I can't lift things very well, but I can handle a knife,"

"Then, I'll adapt accordingly," The Renegade replied,"I need to make bedframes, so what I think I'll do is chop the wood required, then you can carve the wood with that handy knife of yours. Finally, we put the pieces together. There is also the required list of chores: fetching water, hunting for food, but we can plan those accordingly."

"Well, hello, little Mockingbirds! Seems we've flown into a flock, haven't we?"

"It appears you have, Miss Fire," he chuckled, knowing instantly that she came from the Volcano Fief. It was in her appearance. He examined closer and found that she must be a traveler, which meant she was here for The Rough Riders!

"It appears that we have another traveler from another fief, Ace," he said," This is Ace, if you didn't gather and I'm The Renegade. You are?"

"Oh, Miss Fire! I like that name, I really do!" she giggled lightly, and batted her eyelashes, "Well, Mr. Renegade, it seems I've found the right spot after all."

She took a few steps closer and bowed at her waist, keeping her eyes directly on the two before her. Friends, not foe.

"I'm whoever you want me to be, sweetie, whoever I need to be. But usually, I'm just Angel. You guys look bored, how about I perform a little?"

She pulled off her ragged, red scarf in a fluid movement and let it pile on the ground, dropping her messenger bag and cloak beside it. The shadows from the fire licked across her exposed skin as she slowly slipped off her tall, black boots. Crossing her legs, she sat before the fire and grinned openly, clearing her throat to prepare for her "performance."

Ace glanced back at her food, and sat, angling her body so that she could see the two people in front of her. She had relaxed around The Renegade, and now there was someone new who had to be watched. She didn't feel threatened, so she sat back and glanced at The Renegade. He was hard to read, but at least she had known him for a little while. She felt that if she had to turn her back on someone it would be him. The new girl seemed a bit like a trickster, and, while Ace was sure she could handle it, she wasn't going to take any chances.

'Gah, why do I overthink? She probably just wanted to join The Rough Riders, like I did,' Ace thought, and sighed.

She made herself too depressed, so she concentrated on Angel.

"That would be fine," The Renegade said as she sat down in front of the fire and got ready,"And Angel it shall be."

He heard Ace give a sigh as she concentrated on Angel. It seemed like she had trouble trusting people, he thought, By her nature, she wasn't comfortable with this newcomer and thought Angel was up to something.

He chuckled in his head. Fire and Ice, not getting along, he thought, what a surprise there!

He, on the other hand, knew of her nature by the way Angel talked. She was very flirty, a very deceptive tactic. He knew if she was going to try anything, he would be ready. He still had his bow in his hand and a knocked arrow, thought the string was not drawn, but he could fire it in a nano second. But something told him she wasn't going to try anything. It was two to one and he already knew Angel wanted in.

He also chalked up another special skill in Ace. She can read people almost as well as he can.

Ace noticed The Renegade looking at her, and smiled. If these two people were going to be with her for a while, she was going to have to get used to them. It was a bit exciting, doing something different with complete strangers. Of course, one had almost shot her with an arrow and that same person still had the bow at the ready, but that was to be expected. Although The Renegade was very famous, and most people were backing him, he also had enemies. It would be easy for one to slip in and pretend to be an ally.

This was going to be an interesting few nights.

With no warning, Angel began to sing, a soft haunting melody, her eyes closed from the pure bliss of the sound.

"Darling dear daughter, you're hidden and weak,
Your eyes, they are tired,
Your voice, it is meek.

Dear darling daughter, you must stand up tall,
You must be stronger
You must stand up tall."

She stood fluidly, eyes flying open, flames reflecting in the mirror-surface. She was remembering, thinking of something confusing and scary, it was obvious in the trembling of her limbs, the square set of her jaw.

"Dear darling daughter, you have done well,
Pulled forth from your body
Now out of your shell.

Dear darling daughter, my time, it has passed,
But now you well know
That your love is my last."

Ace frowned. The song was beautiful, and Angel's voice was really pretty, but the song was so sad. Ace watched as Angel got all into the song. It was really nice, something Ace had never seen before.

The Renegade looked at Angel as she sang the song, thoughtfully. It was as if she was bringing back unpleasant memories in her song. He smiled. She probably was doing so.

"May I say, Angel," he began,"That like your name, you do sing like an Angel." He wondered if he should bring up what happened in her past, then decided not to. There was a pleasant mood in the air and he didn't want to destroy it.

"I'm tired. Ace's middle of the night appearance has me exhausted. I'm going to turn in guys. G'nite. Make sure that you put out that fire before turning in for the night." He went to his tent, then turned around,"Don't try to sneak up on me while I sleep, please. You might end up with a slit throat on my floor and I don't want to kill either of you pretty girls." With that, he turned around and went to sleep.

((OOC: I'm going camping. I wont be on for a little while. Try to carry a conversation between the two of you until I get back next Wednesday. Have fun.))

Angel's eyes cleared as she blinked, the innocent twinge sparkling again in her gaze.

"Darn," she pouted, "and I was so hoping to sneak into his tent and cuddle..." she stuck her tongue out playfully at the other girl, then perched herself by her pile of belongings, stretching her bare feet out to the fire. "So, Ace, was it? Tundra fief. Interesting. Care to tell me about it?"

Ace glanced at the girl, and gave a small smile, "It's cold. There honestly isn't much to tell. I can honestly say that I have never met a closer fief. Although the tundra fief has many spread out little villages, because it is so cold the people bond over fires. I really love being there, but I had no reason to stay and every reason to leave. It's a bit too warm everywhere I go."

Ace had moved her gaze to the fire, but she had kept Angel in her peripheral vision, "What about the volcano fief? What's it like? I had passed through it, but that isn't the same as living there."

"It's hot, and cramped, and...not a place I want to go back to. I spent most of my time at the hot springs," she looked dreamily off into space, her hands trembling gently.

Memories of blood and anger spiraled through her navel, and she hugged her knees tightly, the grin frozen on her face.

"That sounds....well, not that great," Ace gave Angel a small smile, "I don't think I'll live there anytime soon. I'm pretty sure I would melt. When this is over, and if I live, I'm going to move back to the tundra fief."

Ace smiled, and hoped she was distracting Angel from her past. From Angel's reactions, her past was not a really pretty one. Maybe she would be able to make a new, happy future. Maybe Ace and Angel were going to be freinds. Ace had no idea. She wasn't really good at making friends.

"If I live, I'm gonna keep singing," Angel said simply, then suddenly grabbed her knife and crawled towards the woods, "I think I'm a bit hungry. Care to come with?"

"Sure," Ace took the knife on her left hip out of its sheath, and held it loosely in her hand. She followed Angel into the forest and listened carefully. She wasn't hungry, but maybe this would be a good time to bond with Angel. Ace watched the other girl's blade, not trusting her fully, but she wasn't too worried. Ace could probably take the other girl, and if she couldn't, she was fast. She could outrun the other girl, Ace hoped.

The forest was dark, and silent. It was easy to hear any animals near, which was going to make this hunting experience easy. All Ace had to do was find an edible animal, and throw her knife. She had been hunting for her food since she was a little girl, and animals in the plain fief were much faster than animals in the forest fief. Ace had spent a little over a year in the plain fief, living alone and training. Ace also had another knife, so she wasn't worried about Angel. Tonight would be good. Ace was pretty full from the rabbit she had earlier, and a nice exercise was nice. She would probably find a tent and fall asleep immediately, but, until then, Ace was going to enjoy herself.

(Yeah I know haha. There, I tried to make it a little bit longer.)

Angel slipped silently among the trees, eyes trained on a rabbit ahead. She kept her head low, her steps slow and evenly placed. Sneaking may not have been her strong point, but she knew how to do it. She'd done it plenty enough to evade the guardsmen in any towns she'd visited. She waited, lining up her shot, then sent her blade spinning through the air, striking the rabbit and pinning it to the ground. She rushed over, smiling sadly, and knelt beside the small critter.

"Thank you for the meat, Mr Rabbit, and I'm sorry it ended up like this." She murmured, then broke its neck, grabbed the carcass, and stood tall again, signalling Ace that she was finished. "Let's head back!" She grinned brightly, and started back towards the fire, half-skipping.

Ace followed Angel back to the camp, shaking her head. That Angel's a weird one, all right. But Ace didn't mind, in fact, she enjoyed the girl's interesting personality. Ace had never met someone like the other female, and it was refreshing.

The Renegade stood in the trees, silently, watching Ace and Angel get along. He had faked going to bed and, sneaking out a secret door in his tent, followed the two girls through the forest, watching them bond as they hunted a rabbit down. He would have offered some to Angel, but he had none left. He had given the rest to Ace.

He used this opportunity to study Angel's skills. She was excellent at throwing knives...a great mid-ranged fighter, he decided. That would be useful in fighting Master Assasins. They are not the kind of people you want to meet head-on or at close range. Mid-range wouldn't be a wise choice either, but it seems like Angel would most likely defend herself pretty well if it came to that. Still, long range was most effective on them. Ace and Angel were both probably not very skilled at long range, but that can be taught. That was GOING to be taught.

He also took note of the fact that Angel and Ace were getting along just fine. Either opposites attract or there is something deep inside that both realize in one another that makes them friendly to one another.

Finally seeing enough, he leaped quietly from tree to tree. Not a single leaf rustled. Not a single odd pattern would be detected in his movements, just as he was taught to do. He made his way to camp, then tucked himself in for the night, finally satisfied in his evaluation. Tomorrow, they were going to spar against me. Let's see how they do if they work together.

Angel stepped back into the camp, smiling broadly, humming to herself as she often did. She glanced at the other girl and offered her a friendly grin. Angel liked this girl, she was fun, and smart. Evaluating. Angel had noticed Ace's eyes on her suspiciously a few times, but she had seemed to pass Ace's tests, whatever they were. If any sort of fight ever broke out between them, they would both walk away, most likely, with horrible injuries. Mental note to Angel: stay on Ace's friendly side.

She plopped herself in front of the fire and began to skin the rabbit, methodical, quiet, stripping fur and gristle from the tender meat. She speared it with an arrow and propped it close to the flames, waiting as it began to cook. She wasn't all that hungry, she realized, but she needed some form of sustenance in her.

"Hey Ace," she said, "wanna see a trick?" Angel picked up her crossbow and raised an eyebrow, smirk full of mischief, as was usual for the dark-haired girl.
