a character in “The Ruins of Terran”, originally authored by SoulCandy, as played by Jane Storm

Description

Name: Nim

Age: NA

Gender: unknown but refers to oneself as she for the moment

People:good guide

Myth: Phookas are mischievous creatures. They are long, slender beings and their physical complexion mainly consists of two small set of wings that are mounted on their upper backside and they have a long, whipping tail. In the invisible realm, they occupy and compromise positions on trees. Generally, they speak or converse with others in riddles and coded-poems. They, like Ogres, can change their physical shape. Pooka's pane of existence is a little different than that of others, while most things see the world in its three dimensional state, they see it as four dimensional. They can slip into small panes of existence into the world of the spirits. They belong to both worlds and are old creatures. The also have no gender. Nim is just Nim, there are only a few of them and they will never grow in numbers, but they will shrink.

Personality: Nim is a mischievous creature who enjoys riddles and games. It has the personality and way of thinking of a child. It is portrayed as innocent and because of that nature Nim will help those who ask for it, wether they deserve it or not. Although she/he is good natured, she still loves to play games. If she finds the person fun even if they do not win the game, she will reward that person anyway.

History: Nim has always just been Nim since the first ripple of water. Not that she would remember so long ago. Nim only remembers the present. She moves with the world, never looking back, but always moving forward. What is known about Nim’s history is very little information. For some time she has lived in the tall mountains of China, she has been to the dark Amazon and played with the small kodama, tree spirits that live in the most ancient of places. It was when she lived in the planes of Africa that she was found by a child. The child's name was Rach and Nim grew very fond of him.He was able to solve every riddle she asked him despite his age and he was very good at games.

Nim chose to stay in Africa with Rach for many years even after his eyes closed. His death brought sadness to Nim's soul and it was then that she learned what loss truly felt like. It was then when she started reaching out and seeing more of the world which she had never really noticed before. It was when she lived in the hills of Ireland that she met the second child that would teach her another lesson. This one wasn't as young as the first and her name was Ashling. She was a bright little thing and she was always asking Nim many questions about the world. Always listening to every story. She dreamt of traveling the world , and of course Nim could came along if she wanted too. She grew older and forgot Nim but did travel the world like she promised. Nim traveled with her, although Ashling couldn't see her. Nim was there when she told stories to her own children about the world. It was the first time Nim felt the longing to be with others of her kind , others that wouldn't grow up and forget about her.

Nim traveled for a short time not having any luck when she happened upon the ruins, it is where she meet Thomas thatcher. Up until that moment only children could see Nim. She was very startled to discover that Thomas could see her despite his age. She grew curious and stayed , finding herself more at home in the ruins then she had very felt anywhere else. She became friends with Jinan the gatekeeper and of course with Thomas. She became known as the good guide of the ruins before long. She would also spend much of her time annoying Nuram, the evil guide. She enjoys his way with words and loves to play mind games with him.

So begins...
