The Story
A long, long time ago in the land of Cree, earth was full of beings that are now pushed make into the world of myth, legend, and fantasy. But in Cree, all those things are real. Dragons, wizards, fairies, unicorns, mermaids. They're all real in the land of Cree. Cree is home to a league of heros know as the Ryders. The Ryders travel the world fighting off the one known as Diablo. Diablo's the ruler of the underworld. A Ryders job is to keep Diablo and his minions at bay, but in order to do that a Ryder must be trained and raise a companion.

A Ryders Companion & Schooling
A Ryder must have certain schooling. For this schooling, a Ryder is sent to Ryder Academy, a boarding school in an unpopulated place in Cree. The first thing they must do on arriving to Ryder Academy is to get a companion that they will raise and teach as they are taught themselves in the school. And, just so you know:
ALL COMPANIONS SHOULD BE CAPTURED WHILE STILL IN THEIR EGG (dragons/some fairies) OR STILL AS A BABY (unicorns/some fairies).

A Ryder can have one of the following companions.

Dragon

A dragon is the hardest companion to receive, though they are the smartest and easiest to train. There's six different types dragons at Ryder Academy. All dragons range in size from can-sit-on-your-shoulder to giant-ass-monster.

Aqua Dragon, a dragon found in the water, it breathes water and can control water. These dragons have two different forms. It can either be made out of water of be solid, but skinny like a snake. To fly, it will fly on a stream of water through the air.
Ignis Dragon, a dragon found in fire pits or a volcano, it breaths fire and can control fire. These dragons have two different forms. It can either be made out of fire or it can be solid and have wings.
Terra Dragon, a dragon found in the earth or in a cave. This is the strongest dragon and usually the biggest dragon. It can control earth. They can either have wings or not have wings.
A'Ris Dragon, a dragon found on the tops of trees. This is the fastest dragon and normally have wings. Can control the air.
Glacies Dragon, a dragon found in the snowy tundra. They breath ice, snow, or freezing cold breeze. They're usually snow white or see through ice. They can control snow or ice.
Tempestas Dragon, a dragon that can be found virtually anywhere. They can breath lightning or strong winds. They can virtually control weather everywhere. These dragons are very rare (so only one or two people can find this type of dragon).

Unicorn
A Unicorn isn't as hard to get ahold of as a dragon, plus they all can heal you instantly and poison water streams with their horn. Plus There horn is full of magical secrets. There's two different types of unicorns.

White Unicorns, these are white unicorns. They have all the powers of good.
Black Unicorns, these are black unicorns that have all the powers of evil.

Fairies
Fairies are the hardest to find because of how small they are. Though, they are the most magical companions that can be bestowed upon a Ryder.

Phoenix
Phoenix's are birds of fire that, on the day of the sun they turn to ashes from where they are reborn.

Phooka
A Creature that has the ability to shape shift.

Gargoyle
Little humanoid beings with wings.

(If you have any ideas for more types of companions, just let me know)

Aya managed to hear Colettes last statement over the phone, feeling a tad bit uneasy. If it was some random other person, all was ok but if it was Riley....hmmm...then it was a clear sign her night was not going to be a fun one. She waited patiently for Colettes response, swinging her purse around from sheer boredom.

"Yes, I do,actually.” When her roommate stepped into view, her white dress hanging over the brunettes body was reflected in Ayas eyes. It was obvious she was struggling with her appearance and it made Aya do a double take of her own outfit. She knew how she felt, Aya didn't want to wear this either.... "Uh...does this look okay?" She motioned towards the outfit she was wearing, then looked up with an expectant expression on her face.

"It looks...." Aya hesitated. Don't say interesting, don't say interesting, don't say interesting. "Very beautiful on you." She smiled a genuine, cute smile, and Colette breathed with relief. Score! She didn't make an idiot out of herself, nailed it! Colette slung a purse over her shoulder and opened the dormitory door.

"Thank you so much,I was very uncertain about putting it on. Shall we?"she asked smiling, and Aya followed her out of the hallway. Aya could really see herself becoming closer to Colette throughout the year, the only problem was....Riley. "I heard the decorations were going to be beautiful, and the food would be delicious."

”Is that so?” Aya gave her attention to Colette, adding a few 'yes' 'hmm' and 'oh?'s when speaking to her to show she was listening. Her head was tilted slightly to the ground, looking at Colettes feet and not her face however it was obvious Aya was listening. As they neared, Aya could hear the bosterous music. The event seemed to have already started. She saw a few girls here and there finishing up but other than that it was empty.

"I hope we don't get there too late." She noted, and Aya nodded in response. "You look very pretty, by the way. You're sure to turn a few heads." At that comment, Ayas cheeks flushed a deep red. She waved a hand gently in front of her, casting her eyes down,

”No, no. T-that, um.....t-t-thank you.” she pushed a strand of hair behind her ear, a nervous tick. Luckily, they made it to the feast rather quickly and her eyes widened at all the marvelous decorations and colors of red and gold. It was a different type of decorating she had never seen in her village, this was more westernized. All types of food was spread throughout the tables, the only relative thing from her culture was salmon and other types of sushi. She would probably only eat fruit and the salmon along with water. Her brother would probably make a mess of himself here, she chuckled at the thought. ”It IS beautiful.” so many people and companions were gathered around tables, bustling about and chatting away like best friends. Bumps and a little brawls were here and there over food or accidents. Sadly, it was not THAT warm here and she knew later on that she would grow cold. Her eyes were already working around the crowd looking for her brother, but he was nowhere in site. That bum, she JUST got off the phone with him. Was he still talking to Tora or something? ”Anywhere you would like to sit? If you wouldn't mind sitting with me that is.” her cheeks had toned down in color but they were still a faint pink. Please, dear God, let Riley hang out with someone else today. Give her peace....

Kirks ears flipped up at the sound of two figures nearing and knocking at the door. Both of the males exchanged glances of distaste. Kirk laid his head back down on his paws and swatted Dereks side with his tail.' Whatever, dealing with real people was far better than the imaginary ones,' he thought. He got to his feet and dragged them across the floor to the door, scratching the back of his head. His hair had had been cut shorter and stubs were coming out to form a beard. He wrapped his hand around the doorknob and opened it, not caring that he was only wearing grey sweatpants. His body was built like a Greek God, blonde hair grown on his chest. Hours of training screamed from every inch of his body, his arms, shoulders, back, all of it was muscle and defined to what was considered perfection. He was one of the few guys at the Academy who came prepared and looked good with it, not becoming too over-built or fat in muscle to where it would slow him down. Looking down at the young brunette in a dark blue dress with a silver band across her waist, he narrowed his eyes at her lazily.

”What?” No attempt was made to hide his grouchiness and slight annoyance in his voice. Macari crossed her arms with a firm grin, and Pippin sat by her shoe with a small yawn.

β€œWhat are you doing?? There’s a feast going on and you and I are missing out on it right now! Go get dressed, and do it quickly you ninny.”” She stuck her tongue out fractionally in a playful gesture. His eyebrows scrunched up.

”Ninny? Wha- I'm not going to that stupid feast.” He complained.

”Why not just go? You have nothing better to do.” Kirk stretched, propping his butt up into the air and then arching his back with skill on his Ryders bed. His blankets and sheets became wrinkled and scrunched up in strange ways.

”I could train.” Derek noted.

”You're far too tired for that. Stop acting like you have a stick up your ass and go, look at her damn eyes.” Kirk gestured to her with a tip of his head, easing his way to Dereks side and taking no note to Pippin. Actually, Kirk ignored him. ”Do you SEE those eyes?” Derek stared down at her, frowning slightly yet managing to look sexy while doing it. He placed his other hand on the door-frame, holding himself up and causing his muscles to protrude.

”Yes. They are disgusting....Oh..Oh God. Stop. Just stop. Alright, alright. I'll go.” he growled and slammed the door in her face in one smooth motion and rummaged through his clothes for something to wear. He didn't care that much about the feast so he grabbed some simple, every-day wear attire. He grabbed grey jeans and dark blue shoes along with a long-sleeved navy blue shirt. He put them all on rather quickly, the buttons slightly undone at the top so he wouldn't be too hot and opened the door once again. Behind him, although no one else could see it, was a transparent woman resting her hands on his shoulders. She had long wavy blonde hair and big blue eyes, she was wearing a long white skirt with a brown top and flats. She hovered over the ground. ”Alright, let's go.” he sighed tiredly and closed the door after Kirk came out and went off ahead of them.

”Have fun, Derek.” her voice was like sugar to Dereks ears, beckoning him to death. A part of him was actually grateful AND happy Macari had come to bug him. Any longer locked up in that room and he might go insane.

Image

β€œShall we?” She offered her arm with an excited, though grateful, look. He looked down at her from the corner of her eye, a faint, just barely there smile appearing on his face. He locked his arm around hers and lead her down the hallway to the feast without another word.

Upon entering the area the feast was held, Derek thought he would go blind. He had been stuck in that room since day one of training and hadn't left it till now. He still worked out, still kept his body in shape but he couldn't handle going out and risking talking to the ghosts with people around. He didn't want anyone to know about his...illnesses. He took more than 20 pills a day, 7 types of different medications to target all his issues. Being in a war zone really messed with a mans mind. Tag that along with watching his friends and family die and being put into what is like a concentration camp/camp to make the people you conquer your warriors..if you didn't come out twisted or with some funky trauma than you never came out at all. Anyone who escaped that without illness, could only escape it through death. He covered his eyes for a short while before he got used to it and ran his hand down to his stomach. It growled lightly.

”Choose where you want to sit, I don't care. As long as I can eat.” Kirk meowed in agreement.

One thing was for certain.

"Stop it! Stop it this instant!"

Things were back to normal, at least between her and Fucuello. Her and the unicorn had made pease after training over some apples, a long ride, and the agreement for Fucuello to give Angel a shot of Trista could prove that he wasn't bad. That would take a while but they still had what years left. She could get it through his thick skull by then. A content sigh escaped her, the only thing wrong right now was that her companion was getting himself soaked right before a feast, and his butt kicked by a plucky little pony. Thank God one of her gifts from Draconem had been a magic quick-dry towel that she thought she would never use.

"Fucuello, stop horsing around, we need to head down to the feast soon!" The pun would provoke his unicorn pride enough to get his attention. She was already ready. In a loose button down shirt with slightly tattered edges and rolled sleeves, skinny jeans, and tan combat boots. Trista had pulled her hair back into a high ponytail with a small clip to hold back he bangs, she didn't feel like pulling all the stops out today. She retreated inside to retrieve the towel to dry off her soaked companion, nudging aside her weapon, a Sovnya, to get to it. "Stay outside." She called to him. "So you don't track mud in here."

Once she had dried of his body and head and preened his feathers she patted his flank and headed inside. "Oh stop your pouting, your feathers will be fine. Besides water hasn't killed them before, it won't kill them now." She threw the towel on the bed and straitened herself up in the full body mirror she had hung on the opposite wall of her bed. She'd situated quite nicely to her side of the room, even though her side wasn't all that embellished yet. Living in the barn for the past few months had accustomed her to such a style. Fucuello would not take any 'strange images that watch you sleep' on his stable walls.

"K ready?" And with that she was on her way to the feast. A feast, it sounded so grand! She hadn't heard much about the decorations but what she had heard had sounded extravagant and beautiful. And everyone would be there! Trista paused, everyone would be there. The friends she had made in the past few days, already they were burrowing into her heart even thought she had known them only a few days. It was strange but exciting. Aya, Takeshi, Solara in some ways, and Angel. Speaking of Angel, I wonder if he's already at the feast? Maybe we can walk there together. and with that she was off to the boys dorm.

BlueJay

"C'mon little guy, time to eat up." BlueJay groaned and yawned but ignored Saga. He was simply too comfy and warm. Saga could go down without him. The dragon yawned again and shifted so he lay on his back with his four paws sticking in the air and fell back into slumber.

Until another rude kick awoke him. "Ready yet, Jay?"

He grumbled a "No" but rolled out his comfort and out the cold floor. A shiver ran along his scales and tingled his nose, oh he hated it when he had to wake up, it was so tiresome. The little dragon picked himself up and stretched like a cat. He was getting bigger, slowly but surely, and now almost reached Saga's knee at the shoulder. Another yawned escaped him as he hopped up Saga and onto his shoulder. BlueJay could still sit on his companion's shoulder but couldn't hide in his hood anymore, which sucked.

"Fucuello, stop horsing around, we need to head down to the feast soon!" Trista called after him and he whipped his head up in response. He neighed, disgusted at the corniness. Estabel laughed and Fucuello couldn't help a blush form across his cheeks. He was like a young steed in love on a summer day! He watched her retreat inside, Estabel brushed her cheek against his and leaned into him. They were laying in the shallow end, and they looked awkward yet somehow cute together. Estabel was HUGE, and so was Fucuello. However, it was like seeing a fat and bean pole person together. Yes. Awkward. Yet somehow, it worked.

Image
”I must go.” he got to his feet and so did Estabel.

”I'll meet you there. Aya has gone ahead of me.” she shook her fur, swinging her head side to side. Fucuello did not look pleased as heaps of more water befell on his gorgeous feathers. Estabel giggled and he tried to snap at her tail as she galloped off. He missed and she looked back at him as if to say 'I won.' he huffed and trotted over to his door. Trista stopped him before he could get any closer.

"Stay outside." She called to him. "So you don't track mud in here." she added.

She disappeared off behind the door , he could hear her rummaging through some things, looking for something. He ruffled his feathers and stood in a spot where the sun shone on him, warming up his skin to every particle. Trista came back out and dried off his body and head and preened his feathers. She patted his flank and headed inside. He kicked his feet up, looking at her appalled only joking of course.

"Oh stop your pouting, your feathers will be fine. Besides water hasn't killed them before, it won't kill them now." She threw the towel on the bed and straitened herself up in the full body mirror she had hung on the opposite wall of her bed.

”Bad feathers could highly affect my image .I like to be admired from afar, and then complimented up close.” Fucuello followed suit, checking himself in the mirror behind his Ryder. He held his head high, chest out, feathers puffed out on the back of his neck, and tail swaying gently side to side. They looked good together. Good and tough.

"K ready?" And with that they were on their way to the feast. A feast, it sounded so high-class! Perfect for a horse as grand as himself. Oh, and let's not forget his Ryder. Trista was the only person that he was willing to admire or listen to, to him, she was on par with him in every aspect. When she was younger, not so much but...he had taught her well. And that...that wretched beast in disguise who goes by Angel wishes to put all his hard work to ruin and corrupt his baby! Absolutely not! He agreed to let her try and convince him but that was only so he could hear her praise fill his ears once again and....and those...those apples..those shiny, juicy, red apples....

Forget it! He did not want to think of it anymore!

He changed his thoughts to the party so his feathers wouldn't get in a bunch. He knew what Trist was thinking their thoughts were rarely their own. She was thinking about the decorations and how they sounded as if they are to be extravagant and beautiful. And everyone would be there! Fucuello rolled his eyes, that was his Trista. The social Star. Oh God, no. Now she was thinking about him. No, stop. Don't think it! Don't say it Trista!

Speaking of Angel, I wonder if he's already at the feast? Maybe we can walk there together

and with that she was off to the boys dorm, Fucuello following behind.

Colette looked appreciatively at the feast in front of her. There was a plethora of different styles of food available, and the decorations were simply stunning. They were elegant and was certainly a refreshing scene from the grunge and dirt training they had been accustomed to these last few weeks. She also noted the different foods that were set up for different companions, which was not entirely new to her, but the portions were much larger.
She had attended many dinners in her day, since her family was pretty up there in society and all that, and she found the scene set before her to her liking. In fact, it was much better than the dinners at home, because there was no one she needed to impress, no polite face she needed to put on, and if she didn't want to make conversation with someone, she didn't have to.
"Anywhere you would like to sit? If you wouldn't mind sitting with me that is.” She looked over at Aya now, confusion on her face. Why would she have wanted to leave her?
"Why of course I want to sit with you, silly. Now let me see...." She peered into the crowd, looking for that one familiar face.
Left side of the room, left side of the room...Not only did she want to sit with Aya, she knew that there was someone that wanted desperately to get closer to her.
Found him!Quinn thought and she started to quickly fly in his direction.
"Quinn! Wait up!", Colette's shoes, although as comfortable as heels allowed, did not enable her to run,let alone walk very fast.

She gently sought hold of Aya's arm so as not to lose her. She smiled sheepishly as she hurried them through the throng of people."Sorry,Quinn probably wants to see Razeth. They've become the best of friends." This was true. Over the last few weeks,Razeth and Quinn seemed to stick to each other like best pals, even though they had just met. Maybe it was because Colette and Riley set them aside by themselves when they were in classes that did not concern them. After pushing people together for a certain period of time, they'll have to eventually become friends, especially if the two parties concerned were as amiable as these companions.
Walking along,Colette muttered a few "Excuse me"s and "Sorry"s.
Oh,there he was! She eagerly walked over to him and waved. He didn't seem to see,so she decided to go up to him.
She cupped her mouth and shouted, just like she sarcastically suggested in their phone conversation. "RILEY TOBIAS HARRIS, RILEY TOBIAS HARRIS,INCOMING, RILEY-" He had startled by then, and looked at her shocked.
"Don't say my middle name, it's embarrassing!", he reprimanded, and she giggled.
Image

Riley looked onward from Colette to the person behind her.
Oh my gosh, how am I supposed to divert my mind from her when she's wearing that?!
Aya's outfit had stunned him again, as he had never seen her wear that kind of attire so far.His thoughts were muddled by incoherency.
Ashscbshdhssb...

He'd been nervous all night, and also a few days beforehand, planning on how he would react to her. He had paced his dorm as he got ready, which had probably creeped out his roommate. When he had gotten to the dinner, he'd planted himself in a designated spot so he wouldn't be crazily pacing again, and even then only with the encouragement of his dragon. He wanted to be cool, he so desperately wanted to be Gung-ho about this, and that had been the goal for tonight.
But now...looking at her...
Focus,Riley!,Razeth goaded him. He was tired of Riley turning to jelly over this one girl. You are going to have a good, friendly time, and you will speak with her without getting some cold stare in reply.
Okay,okay!
He noticed he had been staring for one second too long now, so he glued his eyes back to Colette. He now noticed his best friend's outfit, something very formal and sophisticated, which was just like her really.
"You look amazing,Colette." He complimented her, and she grinned, just like he knew she would. Colette was a sucker for flattery.
"Thank you! Now I know this was a good decision. I mean,if three people say it." She looked down at her outfit, still smiling.
Riley wanted to tell Aya she looked good too.
Do it, do it,Razeth prompted, and Riley gulped.
Okay I'm gonna do it. He looked up at her, all playfulness gone.
"Y..y..you both look great,actually."
Please don't kill me,please don't kill me.
Aya blushed. "Oh um I-I'm not really that great so um..."

I can't believe it. Razeth thought. You've left her speechless. This is the first positive thing that's happened with you and her...ever!
Riley grinned, overjoyed. A little spark of hope shot up in him, and he wanted to endlessly reassure her that she looked beautiful.
Stay friendly, stay friendly,stay friendly.
"N..n..no,really, you look lovely." His smile was small now,but sincere. He coughed and looked at Colette, who was looking down at her shoes, examining them for any off thing about them that wouldn't make them look 'amazing'.
"Let's find somewhere to sit, shall we?" He offered her his arm.
Colette looked up, coming back to reality.
"Oh yes, let's go!"
Image
Colette gently took Aya's arm again, and then slipped her other arm through the crook in Riley's arm, making a small train.
She looked around the room again, trying to find an appropriate place to sit.
"Ooh,look Riley!", she nodded her head over to the window, where the northern lights were.
"How did they do that?",he asked, bewildered.
"Probably made someone move them. Oh, those bring back such good memories." She sighed happily, then turned to Aya.
"Every year,a group of us would go to the most northern region of Cree, all the way up in Barrowood,to see the northern lights. We'd have, like,a picnic there but with hot chocolate and soups. Aren't they beautiful?"
She looked around the room again, trying to formulate a plan.
"It won't do to just roam around until we find someone we know."
"It won't?",Riley asked.
"No, that's hardly a plan."
Riley rolled his eyes. "Oh boy,one of Colette's plans again."
Colette narrowed his eyes and raised an eyebrow.
Oh,really?
"Well, us eating alone isn't right, and neither is us aimlessly walking around forever, distracted by conversation, when one of us should be really scouting."
"Huh?", Riley looked confused.
"Yes, and since it's pretty much given that I have a keener eyesight than you do, what with that whole incident last year with Matt's baby sister's birthday party..."
"Hey,who leaves a birthday cake on a recliner anyway?!", Riley asked, a bit annoyed.
"I think it would be best for me to find Ash and Jay, and I'll tell you when I do."
"W..w...wait,w.w.w...what!?",Riley said as Colette slipped out of their arms and started to walk off.
She grinned devilishly as she looked back at them. "You two stay right here and I'll call you, alright? C'mon Quinn."
The small fairy flew off the back of Razeth and joined Colette.
"W...wa.w..wait!", but she was already gone, and Riley almost facepalmed himself for teasing her about her and her plans.

He looked back at Aya,smiling sheepishly and cutely.
Stay cool,stay cool,stay cool,I am going to kill Colette,stay cool,stay cool..
"Sorry about her,she gets excited about completing tasks and stuff. Also, she's probably hungry."
Make small talk, make small talk, make small talk
"This is a r..really...lavish dinner.D..D..Do you go a lot of these?I sometimes go to some Colette's family throws."

”Why of course I want to sit with you, silly. Now let me see...." Colette peered into the crowd and all Aya could do is watch her. Waiting patiently. She smiled to herself, happy that she had taken such a big step and asked her to sit with her at the feast this evening. At her old highschool, she would have never done that. Doing that would have been asking for rejection and if someone did manage to agree to her request they would be threatened and she would be left alone, feeling guilty, because that person was hurt because of her selfishness. Sometimes the loneliness was just too much to bare. Suddenly, Quinn started to quickly fly away.

"Quinn! Wait up!" Colette shouted after Quinn, gently holding Ayas arm and pulling her along. She blushed and hung her head low. Wow, was this really happening? She'd only dreamed of things like this, being a normal teenage girl, having friends....and then her dream shattered.

"Sorry,Quinn probably wants to see Razeth. They've become the best of friends." Colette apologized, probably hoping to make Aya feel better but it only resulted in her skin tone descending three shades lower. Razeth? Razeth? Razeth was.....was his......h-his....

"RILEY TOBIAS HARRIS, RILEY TOBIAS HARRIS,INCOMING, RILEY-" He was startled by then, and looked at her shocked. Aya glanced up.

"Don't say my middle name, it's embarrassing!" he reprimanded, and she giggled.

Riley.....

Their eyes met for a split second and she couldn't handle looking at him anymore. Worried her heart was going to jump out of her chest she hung her head once again. Already her breathing was quickened, and she could feel his menacing gaze penetrating the deepest reaches of her soul. Oh God...could he smell it? Could he smell her fear? What was he thinking? She gripped her Jumper, please dear Spirits, let a friend come and steal him away or Saga or Angel or Trista, SOMEONE show up and steal me away. She gulped, finding it terribly hard to breathe. She felt like those lung cancer patients shes read in books, their lungs filling up with water. Was he still looking at her? Should she look at him? Would he go away if she acted like she wasn't scared? If she spoke up? Curse all those years from lack of socialization.

"You look amazing,Colette." He complimented her and Aya was too busy admiring the beautiful floor to see Colettes reaction. Great, he was ignoring her. A.K.A. I don't care about you, go die. Flashes of horrible written messages on her desk crossed her mind. No Aya, Aya is over this. Aya is not upset. Aya is at a new school. Aya is safe.

"Thank you! Now I know this was a good decision. I mean,if three people say it." Colette sounded pleased, actually gleeful. Wait, were they in this together? Were both of them trying to humiliate her? No Aya, it's ok. Colette is not like that Aya. Be like Saga, relax. Breathe. They are just catching up. No one is planning to hurt you. She'd talked to Saga about Riley early in the morning the second day before heading out to train her. He'd told her she was worrying for nothing and that he was a great guy but Aya just couldn't let it go. What if he was wrong? No Aya, no one is going to hurt you. You have weapons. On your back. In your purse. You're ok.

"Y..y..you both look great, actually."

Oh my God, please don't kill me. Please don't kill me. What was he trying to get at? What was he thinking?

"Oh um I-I'm not really that great so um..." she blushed meeting his eyes, waving her hands in front of her in shock, confusion, and worry before staring at the floor again. WHAT DID THAT MEAN!? You BOTH look great? WHAT MESSAGE IS THAT? MOCKING!? I DON'T KNOW. Oh God, he's going to kill me. He is going to shove my face down a toilet or rip my dress, maybe even rape me. Spirits, spare me! Strike him down now with thunder, I will be most grateful.

"N..n..no, really, you look lovely." he said before coughing.

”Uuuum.” now she was nervous and scared. She didn't know what this meant, she couldn't read him like Hitomi. At least with Hitomi, she could read her like a book and knew when the torture was going, sometimes even guess what torture. Aya dug into her purse and popped some mint gum into her mouth.

Save me, Save me, Save me.

"Let's find somewhere to sit, shall we?" He offered Colette his arm. Colette looked up, coming back to reality.

"Oh yes, let's go!" Colette sounded excited and happy. Aya looked up, expecting to be left behind this time. Great..... However, Colette gently took Aya's arm again, and then slipped her other arm through the crook in Riley's arm, making a small train. Ok, actually, maybe being left behind wouldn't have been so bad.... Colette scoped the area out for a seat.

"Ooh,look Riley!" Colette nodded her head over to the window, where the northern lights were. Aya cringed at his name being spoken.

"How did they do that?" he asked, bewildered.

"Probably made someone move them. Oh, those bring back such good memories." She sighed happily, then turned to Aya. "Every year,a group of us would go to the most northern region of Cree, all the way up in Barrowood, to see the northern lights. We'd have, like, a picnic there but with hot chocolate and soups. Aren't they beautiful?" Aya nodded shyly. She was too scared to admire the lights. This was the closest she'd been to him since the first day. Colette looked around the room again, trying to formulate a plan. "It won't do to just roam around until we find someone we know."

"It won't? Riley asked.

"No, that's hardly a plan."

"Oh boy, one of Colette's plans again."Riley rolled his eyes. Colette narrowed her eyes and raised an eyebrow.

"Well, us eating alone isn't right, and neither is us aimlessly walking around forever, distracted by conversation, when one of us should be really scouting."

"Huh?" Riley verbalized Ayas confusion. She had an inkling where this was going, and she was not liking it.

Spirits, if you exist...please don't happen what I think will happen.

"Yes, and since it's pretty much given that I have a keener eyesight than you do, what with that whole incident last year with Matt's baby sister's birthday party..."

"Hey, who leaves a birthday cake on a recliner anyway?! Riley asked, a bit annoyed.

"I think it would be best for me to find Ash and Jay, and I'll tell you when I do."

"W..w...wait,” Riley and Aya said in unison, ”w.w.w...what!?" they said as Colette slipped out of their arms and started to walk off. Aya tried to speak.

”Um, I could-”

"You two stay right here and I'll call you, alright? C'mon Quinn." She grinned devilishly as she looked back at them.

…..

…...

She was so in on this. Aya rubbed the back of her neck nervously, chewing her gum lightly and biting her lip. Tilting her head to the side, she gazed to the side.

"W...wa.w..wait!" Riley shouted but was already gone. Why was he saying that? Who cares?

WHY SPIRITS WHY!? Is it because I ate my brothers pudding last summer and lied to him, saying he just forgot about eating it? Is it because of all those spiders I killed? I'M SORRY SPIDER GOD! I'm sorry, God, Spirit whatever.....

This was ridiculous, she was going insane...

He looked back at Aya, smiling evily. (To Aya it looks evil.)

"Sorry about her, she gets excited about completing tasks and stuff. Also, she's probably hungry." He said, why was he talking to her? Why was he being...she couldn't even describe it..this way. What was he aiming at?

”Whatever.” she said rather coldly.

What the hell Aya, are you trying to get yourself killed? Sound nicer, put on that stupid cute Asian smile everyone loves. Shove your fear in a box and pretend...

"This is a r..really...lavish dinner. D..D..Do you go a lot of these? I sometimes go to some Colette's family throws." he added.

”No, not like this.” she could feel her legs buckling in and grabbed a seat near the window under the Northern lights.

”I'm sitting down.” She set her purse down in front of her.

Talk about your culture Aya, you can talk about that normally. Show him no fear and he will leave you alone.

"In my culture, the feasts are nothing like this. It is full of drinking. Men and woman wear Kimonos or other dressy out-fits. It is more formal and the food is...different. While in your culture you are considered a kid, I am practically an adult." She faced out towards the crowd and brought her hand up to her biceps. Running her fingertips along her skin, she could feel the goosebumps. She started to tap her feet and rub her arms, she knew it. She knew this was going to happen. Stupid Brother. Stupid cold. She wished that he'd hurry up and arrive and give her his jacket since this is obviously his fault.

Macari

May was very pleased when Derek decided to humor her and offer his arm. With a content grin, she wrapped her own arm lightly around his and followed after his lead. Pippin’s ears swayed just a bit as he watched Kirk disappear ahead of them, and let out a small sigh, it wasn’t worth his time to have negative feelings towards the tiger, plus it would put a damper on all the fun things he could do. He quickly hopped after May and Derek, nose wiggling as they neared the feasting hall.

As they entered through the large doors, May took a moment to pause in her step to take in all of the grandness of it. While she didn’t particularly appreciate the repeating colors, it was still pretty, and bright. Really bright. She felt Derek shift beside her and she turned to look at him as he covered his eyes. She smirked good naturedly before her attention returned to the dΓ©cor. Draconem lay at the head of the hall along with a few of the teachers. Pippin was somewhat impressed, but having red and gold over and over and over again everywhere was extremely boring. He sat back on his haunches, looking this way and that.

May suddenly tilted her head in Derek’s direction as he spoke, ”Choose where you want to sit, I don't care. As long as I can eat.” With a shrug and a grin, May nodded and looked around the room in quest of a table. Once she had sighted one, she pointed over to it rather than drag Derek unceremoniously across the room. Once confirmed with him, Minx led their little party over to the vacant chairs. They faced away from the nearest window, and instead looked out across the hall at all the chatting souls. As she seated herself, Pippin leapt up into her lap after she had spread a napkin down. Odds were that he’d end up on the table anyway, so Macari wasn’t worried about having to work around his antlers.

β€œOh, Borealis, May!” Pip suddenly chirped up from his spot, putting his front paws on the edge of the table as he pointed up towards the lights. Minxy’s eyes widened, and a smile spread across her lips. However a sudden pang ran through her, causing her to freeze momentarily as all joy left her features. It had seemed to go rather unnoticed, and she quickly recovered from whatever it was that had just happened. β€œHardly as impressive as it should be!” She announced with a laugh, β€œThe sunlight definitely puts a damper on the visibility, and the colors around us only add to the bright distraction.” Pippin looked up at her with a raised eyebrow and a little half smile, β€œAnd when did we become so critical?” His tone was teasing, and May blushed ever so slightly while rubbing the back of her head sheepishly. β€œMy brother lives up in Kelud, which is close to Barrowood where the lights dance at night, he’s told me of them, and sent me pictures as I haven’t seen him in a long, long time.”

Pip let out a laugh before shaking his head, β€œFair enough. So when do we get to start eating?”May scratched her temple in thought for a few seconds before shrugging, β€œFood’s already out, so I guess whenever.” With an enthusiastic yell from Pippin, the two began to pick out the foods they would be feasting on. Pippin had chosen a variety of nuts and berries and vegetables, as was expected, and May had chosen a small portion of two meats, chicken and steak, as well as several different fruits and a few vegetables. Looking over what she had chosen, the pang returned to her consciousness and a lot stronger as well. Once again it forced her to freeze in place and her fingers clenched into her palms as she set her jaw.

She suddenly felt a soft little paw on her arm, poking and shaking it. β€œMay… Maaay…. May??” With every calling of her name, Pip grew more and more unsettled before she suddenly shifted back fractionally and blinked at him a few times. β€œHey, you alright?” She nodded, β€œAh, I’m perfectly fine, just lost my appetite all of a sudden.” She reassured quickly with a sheepish tone to her voice. Pip frowned lightly, β€œIf you’re sure. You still need to eat something.”

Minx poked around her food with a fork before lightly stabbing into some of the fruit and putting it into her mouth. Satisfied that his Ryder would now be fine, Pippin returned to munching on his greens.

β€œSo, what’ve you been up to lately, Derek? I haven’t really seen you around.”

Not only was the light blinding, but the sounds. The chatter, mutters, murmurs, yelling, fighting..the inflections made his ears rings and voices whisper, 'get out, get out, get out. He ran his hand through his hair, leaving it there. It's not real. It's not real. It's not real. With Mays nudge the ringing and voices stopped temporarily. Everything was clearer. She pointed to the table and when he nodded in response to give the OK she lead the small party over to the vacant seats. They faced away from the nearest window and after sitting down he glanced behind. Noting nothing suspicious outside the windows he turned back to May and fiddled with his wing pin clipped to his shirt.

I'll watch the window, just focus on May. Zone everything out. Kirk reassured in his own way.

I don't understand, why it's so bad today? I took my meds. he replied.

Last night, not this morning. Kirk corrected, a large breath of air exhaled from Dereks lungs in exasperation. Great.

β€œOh, Borealis, May!” Pip chirped up from his spot, putting his front paws on the edge of the table as he pointed up towards the lights, snapping Derek out of his trance. May's eyes widened, and a smile spread across her lips. However, her attitude turned abruptly and she froze momentarily as all joy left her features, the strangest sight to Derek by far. She seemed to swiftly recover though, so Derek let it go. Sheesh, half of his moments, thoughts, or actions ever made sense. It gets the best of people.

β€œHardly as impressive as it should be!” She announced with a laugh, β€œThe sunlight definitely puts a damper on the visibility, and the colors around us only add to the bright distraction.” Derek raised his eyebrows, was this girl actually a real person? She wasn't Miss-Ray-of-Sunshine- all the doo-long-day? Pippin looked up at her with a raised eyebrow and a little half smile.

β€œAnd when did we become so critical?” His tone was teasing, and May blushed ever so slightly while rubbing the back of her head sheepishly. Why was she?

I like it. he thought

β€œMy brother lives up in Kelud, which is close to Barrowood where the lights dance at night, he’s told me of them, and sent me pictures as I haven’t seen him in a long, long time.” Pip let out a laugh before shaking his head.

β€œFair enough. So when do we get to start eating?” May scratched her temple in thought for a few seconds before shrugging.

β€œFood’s already out, so I guess whenever.” With an enthusiastic yell from Pippin, the two(Pippin and May) began to pick out the foods they would be feasting on. On cue, Derek and Kirk did the same. Kirk leaned over the table knocking a few plates over and picked up a large fish with his fangs. He laid back down on the floor and dug in, licking his gums. Salmon~ Derek simply grabbed some chicken and apples, facing the voices again about his food and pushing the thoughts that there could possibly be poison in it and ate it anyway. The figures screamed behind him as if they were dying, wailing in pain and clawing at his back. It took every ounce of his sanity to hold on and not turn around with a bloody cry and rip them off of him. They are not there. He self-soothed himself. Ignore them.

Today is so hard, what would the rest of the year be like?

β€œMay… Maaay…. May??” With every calling of her name, Derek kept coming back again and again to hear only their voices and see only their faces. β€œHey, you alright?” She nodded.

β€œAh, I’m perfectly fine, just lost my appetite all of a sudden.” She reassured quickly with a sheepish tone to her voice.

β€œIf you’re sure. You still need to eat something.” Pip frowned lightly.

”Just eat.” he declared miffed.

Macari poked around her food with a fork before putting some fruit into her mouth. Pippin returned to munching on his greens. Macari was acting strange. Forget it, he's only known her for a day. This could be her usual-self.

β€œSo, what’ve you been up to lately, Derek? I haven’t really seen you around.” she asked. How the hell was he suppose to answer that question?

Well, you could answer it honestly. 'I've been shut up in my room dealing with voices and hallucinations while thinking the world is out to get me. he mocked.

No one is allowed to know about this, Kirk. No response but a bored expression from the tiger looking away.

”Nothing much, how is training?” he decided to go with small talk and with a little more consideration added, ”Still with the two idiots?”

(Jay ParkerÍ&Γ†Ash Parker)
(Slayers Prank)

"Ooh, look at that candle. That's a nice candle. Ooh, look at that blue flame. That's a nice flame. Ooh, look at those lights in the sky. That's some nice lights." Jay went on and on about how nice everything was, and Slayer went along just as well, crossing his little arms and nodding his little head with his extremely huge eyeballs. Ash just rolled her eyes at the pair. It was bad enough she had to be at this place with him, but with him just bothering her like always, it was a hell. Not the type of hell Diablo came from with all the flames and the rock and the devils and all, but the type of hell where no matter what you do to get away from someone that annoys the hell out of you, they just wont leave you alone.

Though, it was Jay's idea to come here in the first place, and Ash being the one to tag along. But, that being said, she kind of brought it on herself. Sighing at the thought, Ash put her elbow on the table as she looked around. Everything was so big and elegit and everyone was wearing nice clothes, even herself in a little white dress that stopped an inch or two before her knees. Jay, on the other hand, was underdressed. He wasn't completely underdressed as he usually would be, but he was wearing skinny jeans and a tee-shirt with a navy blue blazer over it and sneakers. Slayer wasn't even wearing a thing while Liath wore a small bowtie around his neck.

Jay went on, saying how nice everything was. "Ooh, look at those people. Those are some lookin' people. Ooh, look at those unicorns....I hate unicorns." Jay said the last part forwarding his eyebrow as he glared at the unicorns that were around. He had a fear of black unicorns, but a hate of normal white ones. A shiver went down his back before he turned to Ash and started telling some random story. As he told this story, Slayer sneak off, ready to set a prank. A large smirk strangely made it's way across the small gargoyles face in a rather creepy way. He flew over and around people, poking their calves with his little claws, pulling their hair, pulling the tails of their companions, and even scratching the bellies of some of the people. All the while laughing in a little demon-child laugh that would scare the ba-jeeb-ious out of people.

He flew on over to where the little elves played and smiled down at them in a way that would tell a person he had an awfully bad plan coming up. Looking around, Slayers eyes narrowed and his smile faded as he thought of the plan at hand. Letting his mind work as he looked around, his brows forwarded and the chaotic smirk returned to his face as he knew what he was going to do. He flew all the way up to the ceiling where the long, long curtains were hanged. The chaotic smile on his face grew ever more larger. He ripped his claw out in a way that resembled that of Freddy Krueger ripping out his bladed hand. Slayer then sliced the curtain and it feel down in big heaps landing onto the elf orchestra, ultimately stopping the music that filled the large room and drawing the eyes of the students.

Ash and Jay were two of the many that looked over. Jay stood up on the chair he sat in and looked over the heads of the students. He could see Slayer hovering slightly above the incident laughing his gargoyle ass off. "Damnit, Slayer!" Jay muttered before jumping off the chair and running over to the incident, pushing people out of his way as he ran. Ultimately tripping over peoples feet who try to be 'cool' and trip him, though that doesn't work as he simply just jumps up and around everyone. Once making it over to where Slayer was and seeing the curtain dropped onto the elves, who were beginning to crawl out from under it. "Damnit, Slayer!" Jay repeated, a bit louder, as he jumped up and grabbed Slayer out of the air, holding him tightly as the little gargoyle complained as he tried to scrum out of Jay's grip. Ash had walked up and was standing by him with her arms crossed and shaking her head slightly. "You're such an idiot." She said, and Jay nodded at her in agreement.

Angel

Angel couldn't decide if he was entirely underdressed, or if Takeshi was just one of those guys who could preen themselves over like a girl before every social event. While his roommate was still rummaging through his clothes for a pair of pants that would match his jacket or something, he was ready in five minutes.
The teen was dressed in a pair of dark jeans that weren't completely ripped up, though they weren't exactly church pants. He'd donned a button down dark blue shirt, which was fancy for him, even if it was hardly buttoned. His swirling chest tattoos could easily be seen with the way the shirt was flopping around, but he honestly didn't want to button it. He had a love for loose muscle shirts and T's, so with a constricting shirt like this he would do what he could to make it comfortable.
Over the shirt he had on his favorite black leather jacket and had pulled on a pair of combat boots, so in all he looked a bit edgy. It helped add to the edgy appeal that he had put most of his ear piercings back in. Aside from the studs in each ear, his left was adorned with several silver hoops, and a cuff linked a chain to the lobe piercing. He'd combed his bangs back in their usual style, and he thought he looked alight, but all this attention Takeshi was putting into his own outfit made him second guess.

I look okay right? No one said this was formal, right?! He shot mentally to Reechi, glancing up at her. Even though he wasn't as concerned about his outfit as his roommate seemed to be, he still wanted to look presentable. And if he and Saga walked there together, the attractive Asian might just outshine him.
Though, with how long he was taking, it was likely Angel would just take off on his own. The feast was starting soon anyway, and Angel was the type of person who hated to be late.
He stood up off his bed, holding out his arm for Reeps to clamor onto.

"Saga! Are you almost ready...?"

At the way the male twin didn't even acknowledge him while buttoning up his shirt, peering into the mirror, Angel took that as a no.

"We're gonna get going then.... okay?"
He still didn't look up. Angel snorted slightly, then slipped out of the room.

Once in the hall, he plopped Reechi in her usual spot on his head, pulling out a pack of cigarettes. He knew he needed to quit, it was bad for his lungs and would eventually effect his physical status, but for now the temptation of nicotine was way to sweet. He grabbed a cancer stick then pocketed the rest of the pack, grabbing his lighter.
He breathed in sweet smoke contentedly, blowing it exaggeratedly off to the side so his companion wouldn't get to much of the blow back.

There were other boys lingering in the halls, waiting for friends or meeting up with girls, and most shot him dirty looks as he meandered past. Whoops. He probably shouldn't be smoking indoors. But better here then at the feast, right?
He paused in the boys lounge, wanting to take a few more puffs then get rid of his indulgence.

"Sorry Reeps, doesn't smell to good does it?" On the contrary, he loved the smell of cigarette smoke, but 95% of people he met didn't. Something about it just reminded him so much of home, the foggy stale scent that lingered once the smoke dissipated. He linked it back to the factories that he used to live by.

He zoned out a bit, starring at the door while holding his cigarette in a practiced way between his fingers. His shirt continued flopping open and exposing his pecs and a glimpse of his abs, and he figured he should fix it before going to the feast. He began to half heartedly button up the bottom few buttons, thinking about his sister Lottie. She would be so upset if she learned he'd taken such a habit to smoking.

Angel snapped out of his thoughts when he noticed a familiar figure walking past. He called out half questioningly and half welcomingly.

"Trista?"

He wondered what she was doing in the boys dorm. Boyfriend? He wouldn't be surprised if she'd found someone interested within the first few days. She was absolutely gorgeous. If it was her walking by though, Angel was actually feeling a twinge of disappointment that she wasn't all dressed up like a lot of the girls he'd seen in the halls. But, skinny jeans or not, she still looked good.
Actually, he felt like being good looking was a requirement to getting into this school. Everyone he'd met so far had been pretty attractive. He'd seen some pretty cute guys the past couple of days, and the girls just flew off the charts.

As Trista turned back to him, and he was one of the few in the lounge so it must have been obvious he was the one who called out, he dipped and tossed his cigarette into the ashy fireplace, then walked over to her with a smile. The grin fell for a moment when he noticed the death glare her companion Fucuello was giving him, but he simply huffed at the unicorn, then conjured up a charming smile again.

"What brings you here? Isn't the feast the other way?"

With Bluejay nestled around Sagas neck he left and headed out into the hallway. He was disappointed that he couldn't head out to the feast with his bro but understood. Hopefully they could catch up there and Angel found him a seat. He scratched Bluejays forehead with his index finger and rummaged through his pocket with his other hand, digging around for his pack of cigarettes. His shoulders lagged downwards, nothing. This sucked, sucked completely. He wanted to have a smoke before the feast, maybe Angel would have some on him and let him borrow one. He passed the lounge, catching a glimpse of two people familiar to him and continued on. The people around him crowded forward, dragging him along and by the time he escaped their horrid function he was ways away from the lounge.

”You alright, Bluejay?” he asked. He scratched his head and re-positioned the dragon on his shoulders before heading back against the flow. The stream of people with ginormous companions simmered down on his way up the people stream. Taking out his phone he sent a text to his sister asking how she was and if she was already at the party to save him and everyone a seat. Peeking in around the corner of the cream colored walls, he saw Angel and Trista chatting with one another Fucuello at her side staring at him gruelingly. Man, that horse really hated his guts. Good thing his crush had a gentle companion. He nonchalantly made his way over to the two, who dressed strangely alike... Bro code forbid interrupting private time with your crush but he just wanted to ask for a cigarette and a light before heading in. Smoking helped calmed him. He wrapped his lean arm around Angels neck, their small height difference slightly coming into show. ”Hey Fucuello, hey Trista, looking good! Angel, can I get a cigarette and a light? Left mine in the dorm.” He crossed one foot over the other, ankles meeting. ”I want to have a smoke before heading in.”

He snuck an itch behind Reechis ears, unable to resist her cuteness. A part of him longed for a dragon as obedient and calm as Reechi but he knew people were put into his life for a reason. Bluejay was the one for him, even if he didn't know why. He would never forget the mixed feelings of accomplishment and embarrassment with Bluejays mother seeing him with just his briefs.

Puffing out his bottom lip and putting his ears back, he glared straight at Angels face in obvious dislike. Who did this guy think he is? Chatting with Trista in front of his wonderful self, the nerve! Fucuello may not have outstanding awards to prove how amazing he is, wait yes he does, but anyway, its the "feeling" that he has that makes him feel that he is the best and that others should view him as such. Trista is his skilled Ryder and his alone. The only hint of closeness he will allow from Angel is if it's admiration for him and Trista and that is not what he sees.

From the second Fucuello met Angel and read his expression, interpreted what he had said and made a judgment based on what information he'd gathered from him...he'd been set on the fact that Angel was not good enough to be in his or Tristas presence. He is a beast and a distraction, inferior to their greatness. To explain Fucuellos complex mind to everyones simple brains, his view is that everyone lives in a world where all they can do is survive. He knows what he wants, and he'll do what he can do to become successful. The world itself is a cold hearted place where all people want to do is take what they can and give nothing in return. So what he does is detach himself from the emotional part and strive to win, strive to be better, strive to be perfect, rich, or powerful. Life itself is a food chain, and he feels he's the top. A part of him is trying to justify his actions by saying Angel will hurt Trista and jeopardize their ability to move up farther. That he is merely trying to protect his Ryder, family, and image. However, the real reason is selfish and narcissistic.

Trista is his and he will always be her number one and be bathed in her undivided attention

Reechi

Reeps watched as her Ryder dressed, and then began to become frantic with worry over what he’d chosen to wear. ” I look okay right? No one said this was formal, right?!” She let out a lazy exhale through her nostrils, her tail draped over the side of her basket. Letting her jaws part in a rather large yawn, Reechi plopped her paw on his face and patted his eye. ”Be yourself, you look fine. But you might want to consider buttoning up a bit more.” Her head fell back against the cushioned nest with another exhale, and she closed her eyes. However, at the rustling of Rowan’s clothing as he shifted, her eyes darted open and she shot straight onto his arm and across his shoulders before bowing down into a resting position with her tail curled around his neck. β€œFruit!!” She chattered excitedly, kneading her Ryder’s shoulder with a churr.

It was a little unsettling that Saga was so busy with preening that he ignored Angel’s calls. She tilted her neck back to rest the side of her head against his neck and looked up at him with big eyes, ”Someone seems to be dressing to impress, huh~” She joked, but was quickly cut short as Rowan pulled out a pack of cigarettes to which Reechi recoiled backwards with a little hiss. She even went so far as to stick her head down the back of his shirt to inhale his scent rather than that of the revolting fire he insisted on putting to his lips. If she didn’t love him so much she would have sunk a bit of fang into his flesh, but alas, she refrained.

"Sorry Reeps, doesn't smell to good does it?" She growled in response, slapping her whip-like tail against his neck. Rowan quickly discarded the detestable thing, and she crawled back up onto his head. β€œHow am I supposed to enjoy anything when all the scents are muffled by that disgusting stuff?”

A figure suddenly came to view, and was none other than Trista. A look of disdain flew onto Reechi’s face as the girl’s companion followed after her. As her Ryder called out to the girl, Reeperchi scoffed lightly. β€œYes, it is the other way, and we should be quickly getting to it. We’re going to be late, Rowan.”

As the two stopped before them and Fucuello locked eyes on her Ryder with a look of pure disdain himself, Reechi’s ears flung backwards and she bared her fangs with a rattling hiss as her eyes narrowed. No one, especially the shallow fool that was this unicorn, was allowed to look at her Ryder like that. ”Leave, Leave, Leave.” She urgently prodded at her Ryder, her claws digging into his head a bit.

Suddenly Takeshi came upon the scene asking for the infernal death that Rowan kept in the back pocket of his jeans, which was simply exasperating to Reechi. Her deadly look towards Fucuello was broken as Saga scratched her behind her ears and a catlike smile flickered across her lips as she churred, her eyes closing in pure content. She was sad when he withdrew his hand, but quickly disregarded him as her eyes fell on Trista and a look of plain dislike was extremely clear upon her features. She simply screamed at the girl, ’Get a better hold of your companion. He’s older than I am and yet I’m so much more mature than he is. See the problem?’ A hot breath, literally hot as she was a Tempestas dragon, flew in her direction and stirred at her hair and flat out fell upon her face.

Macari

At Derek’s added input about her appetite, though probably only based for his own benefit, she figured she might as well get a bit more sustenance than what she had chosen by then. She quietly picked out a piece of warm bread and slathered it with butter, and also nibbled a bit on the beef she had picked out.

”Nothing much, how is training?” At his response May smirked gently, β€œWhat, you mean to tell me you haven’t been out at the weights, or jogging your legs off, or cramming your brain with mumbo jumbo spells and whatnot? Just laying around all day instead being a potato?” She tapped her fork lightly against the plate she had before her as she looked at him, a playful, almost challenging look on her face. β€œAnywaay, training is good, but it is a little hard, I have to admit. I’m having trouble with magic, even though my companion is like made out of it.” She nudged Pip with her elbow, and he grinned brightly with no shame. ”Still with the two idiots?” She blinked a few times, in all honesty she had no idea where those two had disappeared. β€œNope, haven’t seen them since the archery platform, to be honest. I’m sure I’ll see them around, especially since Loki seems to split crowds.” She grinned with a hint of humor to her eyes before her attention was suddenly snapped away to the front of the hall as a loud screech emanated from one of the violins as the music came to a scraping halt.

Her eyes widened with worry, hoping that the orchestra wasn’t injured, and searching for the cause of such an interruption. Her eyes fell upon the demonic little form of a stone creature laughing at everyone’s expense. An irritated look fell upon her features, she hated things that were like that, bullies, hardly pranksters. The little gargoyle obviously only had intent for evil, and it irked May. As the guy whom she assumed was the little monster’s companion, she eased back into her seat, happy that the stone would have some supervision again, as it was obvious from the guy’s staggering up towards him and yelling curses out at him he had not known that his companion would do that. Another relief was that the band was coming out from beneath the fallen curtain unscathed.

β€œWhat, you mean to tell me you haven’t been out at the weights, or jogging your legs off, or cramming your brain with mumbo jumbo spells and whatnot? Just laying around all day instead being a potato?” Dereks apathetic face cracked under the gentle pressure and tipped a smirk. May tapped her fork lightly against the plate she had before her as she looked at him, a playful, almost challenging look on her face. He simply raised an eyebrow in challenge. β€œAnywaay, training is good, but it is a little hard, I have to admit. I’m having trouble with magic, even though my companion is like made out of it.” She nudged Pip with her elbow, and he grinned brightly with no shame.

β€œIt's not that hard, just numbers and imagination.” two things other than physical activity that he was good at. Numbers distracted him from reality and imagination was something that came to him as natural as breathing. He didn't do it on purpose, it was just him. It was just schizophrenia. She blinked a few times at his next question.

β€œNope, haven’t seen them since the archery platform, to be honest. I’m sure I’ll see them around, especially since Loki seems to split crowds.” She grinned, he half-heartedly smirked. Loki was a big guy and probably, no, is more useful than Drew would ever be. Mays and everyone elses attention was suddenly snapped away to the front of the hall as a loud screech emanated from one of the violins as the music came to a scraping halt. While everyone else saw reality, the prank Slayer had done, Derek saw illusion. Flies crawled from behind his eyelids and his hand retracted to his face, palm digging deep into the lids. Screeching and aggregates of flies buzzing resounded, temples pumping. He could feel them crawling around in his brain. He gripped his hair and reached for the fork-

Kirk laid his massive paw on Dereks hand, his nails digging into his hand. Derek sucked in a breath and revoked his hand back, hiding it under the table. Kirk licked his paw, blood trickling down his nails. His Ryder snagged a couple of napkins while Macari wasn't looking and dabbed his hand under the table. When Macari had eased her way back into her seat, Derek looked like his usual self.

Thanks Kirk..

"Trista?" The familiar voice drew the raven haired girl's seeking eyes to the one she was coincidently seeking. He was dressed just as semi-casual as her, which only made him look even more handsome.

"Angel, hi!" she eagerly greeted. He threw his cigarette into the fire and started walking over with a grin that made her heart jump. It fell when he saw Fucuello who was no doubt glaring fireballs at the poor boy. Hey at least try and be nice, please Fucuello.Thankfully Angel just huffed at her moody unicorn and smiled back to her. His smile was only dampens by the clear dislike plastered on his companion's face. It came as a slight jab in the stomach but she brushed it aside. No dragon was gonna scare her off.

"What brings you here? Isn't the feast the other way?" This drew a light laugh from her that carried into her jocular response.

"Yes, it seems I've lost my way searching for someone to accompany me to the feast so I don't enter alone in the watch of our peers." She was about to continue and ask if he would come with her to the feast but-

"Hey Fucuello, hey Trista, looking good! Angel, can I get a cigarette and a light? Left mine in the dorm." The boy hooked his arm around her crush's neck in a casual and brotherly manner. An immediate twinge of annoyance sparked in the back of Trista's throat. Couldn't the boy read the situation and keep his distance.”I want to have a smoke before heading in.” Especially if it was just for a smoke. Whatever, she would look on the bright side, the more the merrier!

"Hello Saga." She greeted in good nature, as he scratched Reechi behind her ear. The gesture seemed to distract her from her trying to mentally burn holes into Trista and Fucuello's existence. However as soon as Saga's hand was gone it was back with an added bonus.

’Get a better hold of your companion. He’s older than I am and yet I’m so much more mature than he is. See the problem?’ the thought screeched painfully through Trista's head making her physically wince a little. She shut her eyes against the scalding wind that followed.

For a while Trista stayed like this, scrunched and poised with pent up tension. Then slowly she blew out a steady stream from her nostrils. Glaring she could stand, but verbal threats demanded addressing. Trista's eyes reopened, a new, cold, and calculating light now shown in them.

"Do siblings always have the same train of thought?" she replied back to Reechi. "I have no control over Fucuello's actions. He is my companion but he has his own mind and agenda just like you do from your companion. While I can try to console him in the end it is his choice. Yes his actions are immature but did you ever consider that may just be apart of his personality. Ever think to see it from his side of the mirror. I'm sorry if you feel threatened and if you have a bone to pick with my companion then feel free to take it up with him directly." Trista stared directly into the dragon's eyes.

Do siblings always have the same train of thought?" Solara turned to look as Trista's voice sounded from ahead of her. I'm sorry if you feel threatened and if you have a bone to pick with my companion then feel free to take it up with him directly."

"Companions certainly seem to get jealous around you Trista, perhaps they think you are going to steal, or get stolen, away from them?" Solara wore no grin on her face but a smile was in her voice as she walked up from behind Trista, Angel, and Saga.

Dressed sharply, Solara wore a dark, black, vest-jacket with a dark red lining inside the lapels that ended just below her but, underneath which she wore a lighter gray t'shirt. her pants, black, like her coat, were held up by a belt of the same color of the inside of her vest. on her feet she wore white socks within the same red-rimmed high heels, the heels and bottom of the shows white.

Ravian on the other hand had decided to attend the dinner tonight within a smaller version of her normal fox form, and was at her shoulder, equal to Solara's. Her color scheme in contrast to Solara's own was white with light blue marking along her face and body. Ravian however was silent as she padded along behind Solara, preferring to remain within her guise of a slightly larger than normal wolf, as this form had not yet been seen by any of the new students, nor did she, as she told Solara when they were getting ready, did she want to draw attention away from her.

JJ was sitting on his bed, his head banging onto the headboard behind him.
This is so frustrating.
He looked down at the worn notebook in his hand, the one that had accompanied him since he began his journey into music.
He remembered when he first got it, a seemingly nothing gift from his sister, something she didn't like herself because the cover didn't appeal to her. It had three blackbirds flying off into a ying-yang symbol, but the cover was in all different shades of brown.
-----
"Yong Sun. Hey, it's time for my piano practice." Suzyana stood at the doorway, warily casting a glance at her younger brother, who was flipping through a graphic novel on his almost too small bed.
He gave a small nod, but didn't move from the bed, flipping pages a bit quicker so he could finish the book and not be in suspense over the ending.
She sighed and plopped down on the bed, laying next to him and looking over his shoulder at what he was reading.
"He saves her from the demon and then they drive out to Kyoro because the doctor called them back." She whispered.
"SUZYANA! You spoiled it!" He looked at her furiously and covered his head in frustration, yelling into the bedding.
She giggled, then playfully punched him on the shoulder. "Come,we have to go.This is my last practice before the recital." She sounded a little proud, but tried not to sound too boastful in front of his brother, although he was less reluctant to go with her nowadays. She didn't know it was because he had started to make videos in his room.
"Not until you pay for what you did,Oneesan."
He looked at her in a dishearteningly manner, and he had such a cold expression his sister looked scared of what he was going to do.
"Uh....", she said hesitantly, but then began to laugh.

He was tickling her.
"Otouto......! Hahahaha! Stop!!"
Yong Sun laughed too, and she started tickling him back.
"Suzyana! Hahaha! You're ruining my revenge!"
They stopped, just lying next to each other catching their breath, smiling.
Yong Sun got up, and put the book on his dresser, lending a hand to his sister.
"Let's go." She took his hand and got up, then led the way out the door.
Their hallway was littered with strategically placed pictures along the wall. They were in order of year. Every year, there would be a family activity where these pictures were taken. The left side of the hallway was for pictures of Suzyana, and the right side was for Yong Sun.
There was four year old Yong Sun by a lake, surrounded by baby ducklings. Directly on the other side was Suzyana, at the same lake, but instead was framed by lilies.
As they passed by his sister's room, she stopped, forcing Yong Sun to stop suddenly.
"Wait, I almost forgot." She went inside her room and came back out with a notebook. The notebook neither of them knew would soon be the notebook, the place where JJ would write all his songs.
"You want this? I don't really like it all that much, but someone gifted it to me." She held it out to him for inspection.
He stared at it intently. There were three blackbirds circling over to what would be a sun, if it was a sun. But it was a ying-yang symbol. She handed it to him, and he felt the soft leather, and knew instantly that he wanted it.
"Yeah, thanks.Maybe I'll doodle in it or something."
------
He smiled at the memory, but then focused on what he had written so far for the bonus track everyone was expecting.

I'm tired of imagination, I lost my self restraint
Situation turned contradictory

He knew what the song was going to be about.
Homesickness.
As for the lyrics and melody....
These last few days in the Ryder Academy had been brutal. The girls for the most part hadn't beat him up, but a few of the guys had. He tried to defend himself as well he could though, and so far no one had gotten his face. He couldn't say the same for his roommate.
He had been surprised when he had entered his new dorm and Drew had followed him. It was a pleasant surprise, however, because he and Drew had been good friends these last few days. JJ recalled a few days ago at the archery station, when Drew had quickly found out he was JJ.
-------
"You-you-you- You're th-that JJ!?!?"
JJ had looked over to Drew nervously. He hoped Drew didn't start up like the girls, because as much as he completely loved his fans, he needed a friend to talk to that wouldn't look at him all starry-eyed.
Drew looked disappointed though, and this confused the boy.
Does he not like me now that he knows who I am? That made him very sad, since he really wanted to be friends with this boy.
"I... I'll let you g-go find pop-pular p-people like you then!" He said loudly starring at the ground.
JJ blinked at him.
Whaa...?
He laughed in a good natured manner, clapping the small boy on the back in a friendly manner.
"You think I'm going to leave you because you're not a singer, or an actor, or a little less awkward? That's ridiculous!" He laughed again, relieved. "I'm the one that wanted to be friends with you in the first place! C'mon let's go."
He dragged Drew over to the general direction in which Macari May had gone, but after ten minutes, he resigned.
"I think we lost her." Draconem had stopped all the activities too, which made JJ sigh with even more relief.
"Thank God, I am quite incompetent with fighting. And swords. And weapons. And physical activity in general.Except for dancing."
He wiggled his eyebrows back at Drew. "Let's get back to the dorms."
------
And went to the dorms they did, where they realized they were roommates, which was a really great coincidence.
JJ had a lot of items on his side of the room, like his desk imported from Kelud, three different guitars he wasn't interested in playing,a keyboard given to him by his fans, a microphone set and three different video cameras on tripods. He was lucky the room was so large.

He was informed by many people he had loosely befriended that tonight was the dinner. He was adamantly reminded by the first three girls that had approached him, who followed him around relentlessly. It was a bit annoying to have them hovering around sometimes, but he had grown attached to them too over these last few days. He was wearing a sharp suit with a silk blue tie, but he had taken off his jacket as he tried to think up song lyrics again.

It's no use. Lyrics can't come by force. I know that. I just wish I didn't have such a tight deadline.
Do not worry. I am sure you will be able to procure a song that appeals to the opposite sex that is both repetitive and catchy. His phoenix teased.

Surprisingly,Gladiator was pretty supportive of JJ's music career, although he did tease him about it to no end.
So that's why you are so soft. He had commented when he first learned of it.

Thanks, I think. JJ thought as he leaned over to store the notebook in his dresser. He was waiting for Drew, who was currently who knows where changing.
"Drew, we should get going. I think it's already started."

Angel

"Yes, it seems I've lost my way searching for someone to accompany me to the feast so I don't enter alone in the watch of our peers."
Angels couldn't help his smile from growing. Oh that was just perfect- walking in fashionably late to the feast with the gorgeous being who was Trista on his arm would start the night off perfectly. Maybe she would even hang out with him the whole dinner- This was all falling into place perfectly.

He opened his mouth to ask if she'd like to be his unofficial date when an arm swung around his neck and a by-now-familiar form leaned on him. Really Saga. Really?
"Hey Fucuello, hey Trista, looking good! Angel, can I get a cigarette and a light? Left mine in the dorm.”I want to have a smoke before heading in."

Angel sighed but smiled down at him. Try as he might he couldn't be mad at Saga for even a moment, even if he had just interrupted a good moment. He reminded him to much of a brother or best friend and once he befriended someone, he didn't get mad at them or hold grudges. Besides, he liked being able to help people. He gave Trista an apologetic look.

"Sure bro,"

He pulled his pack back out and pressed his fingers over the open top. When he tilted the package, his fingers blocked all but one cigarette from sliding out, which he held up to Takeshi's lips. His other hand was pulling out and flicking a flame to life on his lighter; as soon as his roommate had the death stick between his teeth, Angel pocketed his pack, lit his smoke, and put his lighter away.
This was how he and his best friend Ashton had always lit for each other, so it was a smooth and quick process. Even if he wasn't mad at Saga, that didn't mean he wanted him third-wheeling on this hopefully-still-could-be-a-date. Of course, he wouldn't kick him out, but he'd been fully planning on making a move of some sort. Maybe they could find the girl Saga seemed so infatuated with- then they could make it a double date.
He was about to extend an invite to both of them to go together though, when Reeps snapped.

’Get a better hold of your companion. He’s older than I am and yet I’m so much more mature than he is. See the problem?'

Angels jaw dropped slightly. He'd heard that clearly through there own mental connection, but could only imagine the force behind it towards Trista. He stole a glance at Fuccuelo, who was just sulking and glaring and not doing any real harm. Then his adorable little dragon had to go send a scalding wind her way.

"Reechi!" He exclaimed, aghast. Why was she taking out hate on Trista? Angel understood that she didn't like they way the unicorn hated him for no reason, but that wasn't Trista's fault! Just like his companions behavior at the moment wasn't his fault.
That was uncalled for! He told her, still shocked at her actions.

"Do siblings always have the same train of thought? I have no control over Fucuello's actions. He is my companion but he has his own mind and agenda just like you do from your companion. While I can try to console him in the end it is his choice. Yes his actions are immature but did you ever consider that may just be apart of his personality. Ever think to see it from his side of the mirror. I'm sorry if you feel threatened and if you have a bone to pick with my companion then feel free to take it up with him directly."

"Yeah, Reeps, don't be mad at Trista because Fuccuelo hates me. I don't want to control you, I can't actually, and they're the same. You're still new in this world, so you haven't meet that many people, but everyones different. Some people are what you might consider immature, but those same people might think the same about you. No need to get snippy baby." He reached up and rubbed her head lovingly. He wasn't angry but he wanted to emphasize that she shouldn't snap at people for their personalities, or things out of their control. It'd only been a few days since Reechi officially came into the world after all, and she didn't know better.

"Companions certainly seem to get jealous around you Trista, perhaps they think you are going to steal, or get stolen, away from them."

Angel jumped slightly as Solara popped up from nowhere behind them. Well wasn't this turning into a little pow-wow. Time to scram. Ignoring any further drama, he took a long step forward and bowed to Trista, grabbing her hand and kissing it before placing it on his elbow. Way to formal and chivalrous for both their casual wear, but he thought it added to the charm.

"The only one stealing Trista is me- Wanna be my date tonight?" He gave her a charming grin, mentally praying that he wasn't being too awkward and straightforward..... and that she would accept. And that Fucuello wouldn't kill him.

He glanced at Solara and Saga. "You're both welcome to accompany us of course."

Reechi

As Trista began to defend her Companion, Reechi looked over at her. β€œIn any case, immaturity is not something you want to defend. Thinking in his point of view, I only see faulty lines.” At her comment of the small dragon feeling threatened, a derisive snort flew from her vocals. β€œYou’d be wrong, then.” She could already feel the not-going-to-bother-with-you look from the foolish little foal.

At the entrance of yet another human, Reechi turned a blank glance over to Solara as she spoke. ’Or perhaps it is a battle of rights.’ She thought to herself before she felt Angel move under her and light another cigarette near Saga. She scooted away from the guy, and that was when Rowan responded to how she was behaving. She looked ever so startled herself as he snapped out her name, and then he told her what she was doing was uncalled for.

’Uncalled for!?’ She thought, an angered hurt flourishing up inside of her, but hidden from her Ryder. ’I’m just trying to protect what’s mine!’ Her eyes narrowed angrily as her Ryder took this woman’s side. And when he brought up the idea that she knew little to nothing just because she was newer to the world only injured her further. ’What, I’ve been gathering all sorts of information from everything and everyone around me. I’m a dragon for sakes, and doesn’t that go the same for this foal? He’s been here way longer than I have, shouldn’t he know better?’ She was beginning to get confused, and felt more and more betrayed. If she was new to the world, shouldn’t Rowan be teaching her things anyway? It couldn’t be her fault for not doing what she didn’t know. It seemed like everyone was turning on her, hiding it behind good natures.

Reeps was at least smart enough to pick up when she wasn’t wanted around.

As Rowan set his hand onto her head, as she so often loved, things turned sour within her. The affection he seemed to put behind the gesture was just a lie, it seemed nothing more than a ghostly mask, some form of a cover up for how she had been acting, which to her instincts was normal, and fine. Fake! Her mind warned her as he put pressure on her head, and she slipped her head out from under his hand and opened her jaws.

She then latched onto his hand with her teeth, drawing a bit of blood. And then she seemed to simply disappear from his shoulder. Had Saga not been smoking that infernal thing, she might have turned to him, to leave Angel as he had seemed to leave her. The last words she heard as she left from the scene was Angel talking about Trista being his date. Of course that’s what he wanted. Trista was more important to him. And because of that, she knew that her own Ryder wouldn’t be coming after her for awhile. They’d just think that she was misbehaving, that she was some kind of a brat, selfish, no better than anything else.

’Well, let them think.’ She told herself without a second glance, blinking out of scene and into the maze of halls. She had better things to do than go to the feast and be with the man she loved, but who seemed to be so keen on overlooking her and focus on others. Though the idea of fruit at the tables called to her, she ignored the base desire and turned her head, slipping through a few large, open archways.

Eventually, cool air hit her nostrils, and her ears flickered. Her instincts had been right, hadn’t they? They were supposed to be…. Now they were telling her to just get out, let her Ryder enjoy the night like he wanted to, to not spoil his fun with this Trista person and her companion.

’Stupid. Needy. Wrong. Foolish desire. Not important.’ She couldn’t tell if her thoughts were directed at Trista… or at herself.

She darted under some bushes, keen on not spoiling Rowan’s night with her negative thoughts, and rather find a small meal for herself out of little bugs and rodents. It was good, she could train a bit on her stealth and speed, she supposed. She would just lay low for awhile.

"Sure, bro." Angel rummaged through his pocket before taking out a pack of cigs, opening it, and holding it up to Sagas lips. Next, Angel grabbed his lighter and scrolled the mechanism. It came alive and attacked the end of his cigarette, sizzling and turning the tip black. He inhaled and turned his head the other way to exhale through his nostrils. It felt so good to have one again. Stress has been on high reaches for him these past few days. At the snap of Reechis beautiful vocal cords emitting bitter words, Saga tilted his head to the side to steal a peek. Lifting his hand to his mouth, he positioned the cigarette between his index and middle finger to hide his slight smile. Way to go Reechi!

Oops, someone seemed unhappy about it. Saga couldn't help but notice Angels visual display of shock. Already Saga knew how this scenario was going to play out. At first, he expected Angel to take Reechis side. The man practically spoiled her to death and smothered her till she couldn't breathe! But who was he to judge since Reeps adored the amount of affection and attention she received. Yet, Angel took Tristas side. Ouch. Honestly, he was disappointed in everyone at this point. They gave too much attention to the small things and not the other way around. Especially Reechis feelings.

"Reechi!" Angel exclaimed. And here comes another blow. Saga lowered his arm from Angel and scratched his own dragon behind the ear. Bluejay was probably getting finicky by now. Urgh, what has he gotten himself and Bluejay into?

Sorry you have to hear all this, Bluejay.

"Do siblings always have the same train of thought? I have no control over Fucuellos actions. He is my companion but he has his own mind and agenda just like you do from your companion. While I can try to console him, in the end it is his choice. Yes, his actions are immature but did you ever consider that may be a part of his personality. Ever think to see it from his side of the mirror? I'm sorry if you feel; and if you have a bone to pick with my companion, then feel free to take it up with him directly." She ended, she finally ended. Damn, her tone was flat out condescending.

"Yeah, Reeps. Don't be mad at Trista because. Fucuello hates me." Poor Reeps... "I don't want to control you, I can't actually, and they're the same. You're still new in this world, so you havn't met that many people but everyone is different. Some people are what you might consider immature but those same people might think the same about you. No need to get snippy baby." Angel reached to rub Reechis head lovingly but was rejected. Reeps slipped her head from under his hand and bit it. Saga stared wide-eyed. Wow. He couldn't believe what he was watching. After that she dashed away and Bluejay followed, crying after his friend. What just...happened? He turned his attention back to Angel who completely ignored his companions obvious behavior for attention and kissed Tristas hand and locking elbows. What the hell? He was totally in his own world. As if reading his thoughts, Angel glanced up at the two-Saga and Solara- and added. "You're both welcome to accompany us, of course." Fucuello stared Saga down, as if waiting for him to toss Reechi to the side. Immediately, Saga put his hands up in defense and looked away.

"Naw, I think I'm going to go after Reechi and BJ, you know?" He clicked his tongue, pointing in the direction they ran off to with both thumbs. "See you guys inside." He turned his back to the two love-birds, took a few steps forward, and turned back around. "And Solara? Popping out of no where, creepy. But you look nice." He chuckled and ran off for real this time, disappearing behind the corner.

---

Once outside, Saga took one last blow of his cig. and pressed the bud into the wall, killing it. Only one way to find her...He glanced around at the scenery covered by the night and then cupped his hands around his mouth yelling, "Reechi! Oi, Reechi!? Where are you!?" he repeated this over and over again while walking around. "Bluejay?"

Drew stared down at the bow-tie hanging around his neck, at a loss. It'd taken quite a while to dig through his suitcases of sloganed T-shirts and hoodies, since that was all his wardrobe was, but eventually he'd managed to find a plain black polo. Somewhere out of the resulting mess, a blue bow tie had popped up, and that was what his outfit now consisted of. He figured his regular baggy jeans and blue toms would have to do to top it off.

Of course, It would help if he knew how to actually tie the bow tie.

Right now he was hiding behind the door of his wardrobe, out of sight. He honestly wished he could just stay in the corner the rest of the night, but JJ was insistent and excited about this dinner. And JJ was really the only friend Drew had made, so he wasn't about to deny him anything. Heck, he could ask for a kidney and Drew would have a hard time coming up with no.

He peered at the mirror on the back of the wardrobe door, abandoning the bow-tie around his neck and examining a large fading bruise across his cheekbone. His first week at school had sucked basically. Anytime Loki wasn't hovering nearby, he was harassed by bigger stronger boys in the dorm. Or he was training with someone, they felt the need to hit Drew extra hard, despite his lack of fighting knowledge. He'd taken to trying to avoid everyone, scared they would be annoyed with his incompetence, and beat him up. Similar dark bruises lined his back from taking to many rough falls, and he swore his ribs felt bruised as well.

At least JJ was there though. They were both kind of odd balls here- everyone seemed so focused on athletics and fighting and thats kind of what the school was about but Drew was just so absolutely hopeless in those categories. He wasn't sure about JJ yet, if he was just as incapable or if he just preferred his music or what- but everything basically sucked.

"Drew, we should get going. I think it's already started."

Drew let out a loud groan, taking in his puffy hair and hanging tie, before timidly shuffling out from behind his wardrobe door, closing it. Loki, who had been melded into the corner of the room designated as his- which looked rather like a creepy to Drew, with its random dark shadows and jail-like iron bed- skulked over to fall into step just behind his companion.

Drews side of the room was no where near as occupied as JJ.
He had his bed, over which a large map from one of his favorite MMORPG's hung; his wardrobe, which fit all his clothes no problem; a sleek desk, already overrun with cords and two screen monitors for his computer, not to mention coated in magazines, with two empty tea mugs along it; and finally his nightstand, which had a record player on it. The shelf on the bottom of the nightstand was filled with vinyls.

It wasn't anything too exciting, though it definitely looked a bit cluttered. It wasn't that he was messy, he just touched and moved and was fidgeting whenever he was in the room, so of course things got misplaced.

He took in JJ with a depressed look. His side of the room, and JJ himself looked perfect. How was he supposed to compare to that.
He didn't want to go. He wanted to stay in his room and watch a movie or read or eat or not be in a social environment. He hated huge social gatherings. Hated them.
But JJ wanted to go so they would go. He was a celebrity after all, and if he really wanted to be friends with Drew, it was the least the awkward teen could do to go to the gathering with him.

He shuffled over to the door, tapping his fingers nervously against his jeans. There would be so many people, probably the whole school. So many people breathing his oxygen and probably getting in his space and excluding him.

"O-Okay, we can leave if y-you're ready."

He glanced up at Loki, glaring at him because he was still in his devil form.

He'd quickly found out after a day or so of complaints about how creepy he was, that phooka's were shape-shifters. At which he'd confronted Loki, and the demon had laughed his horrible laugh and promptly explained he could also take the form of a large dog.And a pony.
And he'd just stayed in his regular form because Drews reaction were amusing.
What.
An.
Ass.
So Drew had been mad at his companion for an hour or two, and sent him back to his room, only to come running back when other students saw it as an opportunity to pick on him since he was alone. And once Loki was in his his dog form, he wasn't too bad to look at..... except he was still rather freaky. Nothing like his dog at home. Instead a shaggy, boney, bright red eyed fang toothed hell hound.

But it was a step up from his satan form.

Anyway, Drew averted his eyes as Loki shifted and continued scuffing his shoes against each other as he waited for JJ. Best just to get this dinner over with.
"W-w-what have you b-been working on any w-way??"
He asked quizzically, referring to the fact that for the past however long, JJ had been on his bed mumbling to himself and banging his head against the wall.

No need to get snippy baby." Trista was a bit taken aback. Angel... agreed with her? She had just reprimanded his companion and he had taken her side instead of defending Reechi? She had been expecting him to at least be a little miffed at her. What's more was that instead of feeling grateful for Angel's defense, her stomach just got more guilty knots in it. And it did not help when the little dragon nipped his companion and ran off.

"Companions certainly seem to get jealous around you Trista, perhaps they think you are going to steal, or get stolen, away from them?" It was Solara, things had stayed dormant between them but Trista still couldn't relax completely around the girl, especially when she said things like that. Sure it sounded like it was meant as a joke but hadn't she ever heard of "reading the mood". She was about to giver Solara a no really look when something grabbed her hand. She looked down and almost shot through the roof with shock and stomach butterflies.

Angel bowed.

Placed a kiss on her hand.

Then he placed her arm around the crook of his elbow and said the corniest yet most charming thing ever. "The only one stealing Trista is me- Wanna be my date tonight?"

No words could push past the frog in her throat so she just giggled and nodded all the while not being sure if the butterflies in her stomach were from Angel or the guilt she felt over Reechi. That had been no way to handle that situation. Saying that made her look hypocritical but her and Fucuello's relationship was a pre-established bond that had a lot of history to fall back on. Angel and Reechi's was new and fragile, she might not fully have assurance that Angel loved her the same way she loved him. If they were ever alone tonight Trista made a mental note to talk to him about it. Reechi was still in the wrong of course but she didn't deserve her companion turning on her like that and leaving her without any admonition that he still cared.

"You're both welcome to accompany us of course." He said to Solara and Saga. The boy put his hands up in defense and looked away no doubt because of Fucuello's stares. Huuuuh this was turning out to be a pretty bittersweet affair.

--BlueJay--

”You alright, Bluejay?” The little dragon purred when Saga scratched his head. He let his companion adjust his haunches and got in a comfortable position from there. He still had the sleepy heaviness fogging his head and the noise of everyone else talking and yelling didn't help. So he just groaned and hurried his head into he's companion's shirt to block out the noise. Couldn't they all just be quiet! He was not in the mood to have all of their chatter and babble fill his head, he wanted quiet, he wanted sleep!

”Hey Fucuello, hey Trista, looking good! Angel, can I get a cigarette and a light? Left mine in the dorm.” BlueJay peeked out his head to see the people. ”I want to have a smoke before heading in.” Smoke? What was a smoke? He watched as Angel took out a white cylindrical stick and stuck in Saga's mouth then he took out a shiny metal box that spat a lick of fire onto the stick. The ritual, whatever it was, produced a foul grey matter that filled his insides and made it impossible to take in air till he expelled the stuff in violent hacks. Which he proceeded to do.

When the awful stuff was gone from his lungs the dragon looked up to see Reechi. "Rechi!" He squeaked. "Hey Reechi!" He was about to ask her if she wanted to play when Reechi's thoughts snapped through the air.

’Get a better hold of your companion. He’s older than I am and yet I’m so much more mature than he is. See the problem?'There was a silence, thick and musty that followed. The girl Reechi's anger had been angled toward was stiff and cold in her motions. Reechi kept her glare on Trista. BlueJay retracted behind Saga's head. Why was everyone so mad?

And it just kept getting worse.
Angel turned his words on Reechi as did Trista, making the air all the more stuffy and stiff and unbreathable. Reechi tried to defend herself but no one listened. The blue dragon was about to come to her, try and lessen the air's harshness at least for her. Saga took Reechi's side; BlueJay just wanted everyone to stop making the room feel scary. He was about to nuzzle her shoulder when the silver dragon lept of Angels and ran away.

"Reechi!" He called out and chased after her.

Angel

’I’m just trying to protect what’s mine! What, I’ve been gathering all sorts of information from everything and everyone around me. I’m a dragon for sakes, and doesn’t that go the same for this foal? He’s been here way longer than I have, shouldn’t he know better?’

Angel sighed awkwardly as his attempt at gentle scolding completely backfired. He hadn't meant to take sides. He'd honestly been trying to avoid conflict, but instead had seemed to feed the fire.

C'mon baby, don't be like that. I know he should know better but all I was trying to say is you don't need to lash back at people...

Angel broke off as Reechi nipped at his hand. The swirls of feelings he was getting was breaking his heart, but at the same time his immature nature shone through. He didn't understand why Reeps was overreacting. He didn't understand why he himself was overreacting. This didn't need to be a fight or disagreement- but he was a guy and the beautiful girl had taken priority over his second half for just a moment and now his other half was angry with him.
Reechi suddenly disappeared off his shoulder. Angel felt like he was going to cry for a minute. She was seriously going to run off? He had tried to make things better; he was still radiating love to her, though it was masked by hurt now.

He wanted to go after her, but at the same time, he wanted to give the dragon time to mull over what had just happened. He would probably leave the dinner early to go find her.
This was like one of the many times he'd made various girlfriends or boyfriends upset. They always needed time to cool down after a fight, then Angel would call in the morning or for dinner and they would work it out. it was like that. That was how he would look at it.

So Angel, instead of going after his darling, bowed to Trista and gave her a cheesy line.

She let out some some cute giggles, which Angel took as acceptance. Saga went off after BlueJay and Reeps, so he looked to the girl. He didn't want to do this, especially after she'd so cutely responded to his invitation to be his date, but....
Angel cleared his throat slightly, and used his free hand to awkwardly push his hair back.

"Not that you're really in the wrong, but i'd really appreciate if you didn't, er, tell Reechi off like that. I know she's a little spontaneous and hyper and everything.... but I'd really like for her to learn how the world works on her own or through me at first. I don't like her being involved in conflicts even if its partially my fault."

He smiled brightly down at her, using her hand on his elbow to begin to guide her down the hall towards the dining hall.

"Now that that's over though, I hope we can have a fun night princess."

Reechi

Even as she darted through the abandoned halls and slipped outside, she could hear Bluejay calling after her. She had deliberately slowed down so he could catch up to her, as she figured that if he had been good enough to chase after her, she truly should consider him as a friend and reciprocate such feelings, despite her foolish first impressions of him. The little blue dragon soon appeared, and she took a second to turn and look at him before scrabbling under some bushes and arching backwards into a sitting position. At least now she knew where the alignment of those around her lay. With the appearance of Bluejay, it was no doubt that his other half would be soon to follow.

Her suspicions were confirmed as she heard the voice of Saga calling out for her, and then shortly after, for Bluejay. Something warm flourished within her, and she peeked out of the overlapping branches of her hideaway to lay eyes on him. He seemed only to wander for so long, but eventually, he’d find his dragon and then her. She waited silently, looking down at her small paws and poking at the soft dirt underneath her with a claw. Her ears drooped backwards on her head. But at least Saga had come; at least Saga cared enough about her to seek her soon after the conflict.

Reeps knew she was being selfish and foolish, she had figured as much from the sour tone of her Ryder, but she still couldn’t shake the melancholy that it was Saga and not Rowan. It burned that he didn’t want to come find her, and yet it was Saga who lessened the blow. If her Angel desired to spend the whole night away from her, then so be it. She might as well give him the whole week while she was at it. He seemed so keen and content to offer his affections and attentions to this strange, unknown girl. A very tiny, almost bitter smile bravely made its ways to her mouth, and she closed her eyes within the gesture to fight back an unknown liquid. She knew that she had no rights to be mad at the girl, no right to defend herself. She was a part of her Ryder, and her Ryder was supposed to make all the decisions, it didn’t matter what she thought in the end, really. He was stronger and wiser than she was, and it wasn’t in her nature to disappoint and cause him any discomfort. That’s what her role was supposed to be. So Reechi had resolved to give him all the space he so apparently desired, and she would be happy doing it, even if she had to force herself.

With this new outlook, she suddenly realized something, and it froze her to her spot, a blank look on her face as she didn’t recognize anything around her for a few moments. She had ultimately failed her Ryder on this night; she hadn’t thought ahead, she acted on feelings rather than on sound knowledge. She had disappointed him, and in doing so, condemned and let herself down. It was completely foolish, and it would honestly get them both killed in battle.

Reeps shrunk in on herself, curling her tail around her form and burying her face down in her soft chest, her ears twitched every so often with the shuffling of feet outside, and she gazed up, watching the night as it chimed outside.
