Description:. Hayami is a slender and curvy woman of a whole 5'5". Her hair is the color of starlight and falls to her waist. Personality:. Hayami is a very quiet and a studious person. She almost never speaks without thinking. She prefers to watch her surroundings and take them in, rather than participate. 90% of the time she is calm, collected, and can react in a logical manner. However, there's that other 10% that, if really pushed beyond her limits, she snaps and the phrase "hell hath no fury like a woman scorned" takes on a brand new meaning. Hayami often thinks that she is right, and even though she is quiet about her opinions most of the time, she is stubborn to a fault. Once she makes up her mind it is nigh impossible to budge her.
At a young age she discovered meditation and found that it freed her from the ghosts and monsters of her past. She likes to take private time to retreat into the forest so that she can meditate close to a bubbling stream. As a young child she saw many horrors, and it has left her guarded. She does not like new people and very rarely trusts those around her. It takes a great deal of patience to get her to open up.
Even though she has spent most of her young life a servant, she is determined that that role won't define her. She often gets frustrated over the lack of her influence or abilities based upon her class. When she first came to the palace she was eager to learn and to help, but she quickly found her opinion was never listened to. After so many times of being turned away she had learned to become reclusive. She no longer likes to share her thoughts as she believes she will never be taken seriously.
Despite her reserved and distrustful nature, at her heart, Hayami is a very caring person. She keeps her heart caged up, but the healer in her often shines through whenever someone is injured.
She has a fierce sense of justice and righteousness which becomes more prominent as the Tiger God manifests within her.
Quirks and Habits: She hums softly to herself when she is working and believes no one is around.
She bites her lip when she is gauging a situation and thinking on the best way to react.

Land/Kingdom: From Byakko, resides in Seiryu
History:. Hayami was born the daughter of a healer. She never knew her father and when she asked her mother, her mother would always get quiet and a distant look would come to her eyes. At a very young age Hayami showed promise in the arts of medicine and healing. Her mother took it upon her to impart all of her wisdom to the young child. Hayami was different from the other kids in her village and was a rather serious child. She didn't like to run, or play, or horse around. She preferred the company of birds and their sweet songs. She became rather adept at mimicking their songs and was often seen with a bird or two on her shoulder as she would wander the countryside and forest for herbs.
Hayami was nine years old when the reaching arm of war came to her village. It had been late in the night when her mother shook her awake. Her nose had filled with the smell of burning wood and flesh. They were able to sneak out the back flap of their little hut. Hayami had never felt so afraid as great war horses were trampling around the village and the ferocious warriors upon them were cutting through the people as if they were blade of grass.
They ran through the night and it wasn't until the morning that Hayami was mortified to discover her mother had a broken shaft of an arrow in her shoulder. She wanted desperately to stop but her mother kept them pushing on. They traveled as quickly as they could over the next several days and her mother was getting worse and worse. Hayami was distraught as she could see her mother deteriorating. She didn't understand why they couldn't stop and rest so they could find proper herbs to help heal it.
What Hayami didn't know was that the arrow head had been laced with poison. It was bringing death to her mother. Her mother knew that Hayami could not touch it or she would be at risk for contracting the poison and die as well.
By the time they reached the royal palace in Seiryu, her mother was barely hanging on. She begged at the kitchen doors that they take Hayami and look after her. She told them Hayami was a hard worker and would do whatever they asked of her. When finally agreed to the dying woman's wish, Hayami's mother slumped over on the step and passed into the great beyond.
It took a while for Hayami to adjust to the new land, new people, and new customs. At first she resented her new life, her new position, and the people around her. Every night she was haunted by the ghosts of her past. It wasn't until she was eleven that she met a monk who paid patronage to the four gods. She was intrigued by the man and didn't understand how he could be so peaceful when there was such hate and malice in the world. He then began to teach her to find peace through meditation and when he discovered her affinity for herbs, he began to continue her instruction in healing.
Hayami resigned herself after that. This was her place in the world. She went about doing her tasks and chores quietly. She became the little mouse that moves about silently attending to the ailing and the afflicted.
