The rulers of the night! Vampires! Well, for one thing. It seems as though Vampires are the most popular species to humans. Humans are constantly begging a Vampires to either fuck them, bite them, or turn them. Humans believe Vampires to be dreary things who thrive on darkness on all kind and have the idea that your cliché goth's closet is what mirrors that of a Vampire's. They couldn't be further from the truth.
Most Vampires despise the idiots wearing eye/guyliner and black lipstick and black nail polish and all black clothes and spiked dog collars, hoping to catch a Vampire's eye with the excessive amount of gel in their hair. Vampires are actually rather classy and prefer the finer things in life and their taste in clothing tends to be quite expensive. At least, the older Vampires anyways. You do have those who enjoy the modern look of t-shirt and jeans.
Let's get down to their powers. Its your basic mythology, really. They are extremely strong and fast with keen senses. Their strength and speed are greater than any other creature even when they are only “1 night old”. They get stronger and faster with age, though some are already stronger and faster depending on how they were as humans. Or whatever they were before. As far as their senses – They have the best hearing and can hear a whispered conversation from 100 yards away. They have a good sense of smell, but their sense of smell is not as great as a Werewolf's or a Shapeshifter's, who can literally smell fear and what have you. They can also hypnotize or “glamor” people. It doesn't work on Faeries or Witches, though.
Here are also a few things to remember about them:
1.hey do not burst into flames in sunlight, but it does make their skin itch and sting terribly. In fact, it's so uncomfortable, most only dare outside in daylight, if they absolutely have to - they most certainly do not sparkle.
2.They need real, human blood, so no, they cannot live on animals. They can get bagged blood, but it does not taste as well as when you get it straight from a source.
3.They are capable of feeling and are usually quite territorial and possessive. And the older they get, the more possessive and territorial they become.
3. They do not have marble-white skin, but it does tend to be rather pale. You rarely see a vampire of color in the world nowadays.
4.They are not ice-cold to the touch, merely always slightly chilled compared to your average human.
5.Obviously telling from their ages, they do not age and it is highly, highly, highly unlikely for them to begin to age again.
6.They can easily control when to show their fangs, as those are retractable. For example look at True Blood....
7.They are not affected by crosses whatsoever, but holy water burns their skin. They can only be killed by beheading and bullets only hurt them if they're very plentiful, although of course massive blood lost and the likes can weaken them a lot.
8.They heal very fast, but even their healing process can be made slow by lack of blood. The more blood in the Vampire's system, the faster the healing process.
9.They can also heal humans, by giving them their blood. However, if humans die with vampire blood in their veins, there is a Huge chance they will come back as vampires.
10.They can no longer be born. Long ago, female vampires could conceive, albeit with a very high death rate. No one knows why the ability vanished millenniums ago, but it did. If male vampires get human women pregnant, both the humans and the unborn offspring in them, die before birth or during this. There are no record of any kind of natural born vampires since before the birth of Christ.
11. They can eat human food but for the most part... it has no taste other than alcohol of course.
