Somewhere in the Pacific Ocean

James looked out over the ocean speeding past them, half wishing he could just stay where he was, back on his island, where he was safe and sound. 'Well, if you think about it you wouldn't be very safe would you?' He thought, remembering the darkness would just come for him. James was in a speedboat, owned by one of the few people he could call friends. He had let him go in the speedboat as long as he could come too. Not to the actual place he was going, just the dock he would stop at. James closed his eyes and listened, listened to the sound of the sea-

" So, what are you in such a hurry to get to America for?" His friend asked.

" I just feel like it, like I need to get there, you know what I mean Charlie?" James replied.

Charlie shrugged and turned the boat slightly. James looked ahead, it was in view.

The Annex

Rowan glanced around her and saw that the girl was right, there did seem to be less of the shadows than before. It was a good thing too because Rowan was getting tired. She had always tried to keep herself trained and ready for when this time came but it hadn't been easy when she had to keep her abilities and destiny a secret. There had been times when she had yearned to tell Katy what was really going on but then she would think on what had happened to their parents and the urge would vanish. Her parents had known about the Annex and about how special Rowan was, it was why they had kept the family on the move constantly changing where they lived. They never stayed in one place very long at least not until Kent, Rowan had always wondered what had made them settle there. She guessed they had assumed that they were safe as nothing had attacked them for a while but the moment they had let their guard down was the moment they died. Katy of course knew nothing except that men had killed her parents in a botched robbery attempt and Rowan was not about to risk her safety by telling her any differently.

Rowan killed another shadow and watched as the girl's dogs killed a couple more and then there was an end, no more seemed to be coming and Rowan drew a long breath in relief. She glanced at the girl beside her and had to hand it to her for holding off this many with just herself and two dogs, that took guts and Rowan was impressed. She lowered her Katana's and cleaned the blades quickly on a scrap of cloth she kept in her jean pocket and then did the same with her dagger. As far as she could tell creatures of the darkness did not bleed but she still did not want their taint on her weapons or her skin. She wiped her hands with another bit of cloth and then with a small amount of power burnt the cloths till they were nothing but ash. Perhaps she was being a little paranoid but the idea of their filth anywhere on her just made her shudder.

"I think we got them all." Rowan said. " I'm Rowan by the way, I'm assuming you heard the call too?"

Hunter jumped in, followed by Simba. "Hmmm.....we wont be in Kentucky long....dont worry, im not going to break the speed limit..." he noted, putting on some sunglasses... "....much". He then floored it, going a more All-Terrain route, although the jeep took it pretty well. "Who needs roads anyways!" he shouted as he drove through the forest at high speeds, avoiding any and all trees in the process. By now he did have experience, since he did drive it once through a forest already. Pretty soon, as in in about 3-4 hours, they saw a sign that said "Welcome to Ohio".

He soon drove up to a Temple Entrance in the forest, then getting out with Simba following him. "Well this is it.....wow, this is easy...." he noted, however, a faint but gigantic roar could be heard in the backround. "Oh.....that sounds like Mr. Dragon got out.....and he sounds pissed at me...." he noted. He then went inside, and saw both Rowan and Dani. "Well it looks like we aren't the first ones here....eh Simba?" he noted, Simba giving a loud and fierce roar. Of course, Hunter doubted ether of them expected a lion. "Well this must be the An......wait....this isnt the Annex....." Hunter noted, looking around it. "From what i was told, the real Annex has 8 sides, not seven, and there is suppost to be a pair of huge, big, black doors. This isn't the Annex.....this is a decoy..." Hunter explained. "Most likely, these 7 circular slots are where the medallions go, so this is just a key......a key deeper into the Temple, where the real Annex is....".

"So we need the other 3 in order to continue"

She almost jumped out of her skin when it roared and she decided that distance was best kept between her and it. She looked warily at the guy who had brought the lion and saw that he clearly knew how to take care of himself which was what they needed. She walked around the temple and listened as the guy explained more about the place they were in. Clearly he knew what he was talking about and Rowan was glad for that as she had no idea what the Annex looked like or about much at all really.

A harbour, Los Angeles, United states of America

James thanked Charlie and, making sure nobody could see him, checked his meddalion. Four others seemed to have met up somewhere in Ohio, so he headed there. Checking around him, he started to run. His wound didn't hurt so much now, so he zoomed past everything. He stopped just outside a small temple-looking building and shifted into a snake so any shadows in the area wouldnt see him.

James inspected the building. It had seven sides, so it wasn't the Annex, but it had seven strangely shaped meddalion holes in each wall. He wondered whether this might be some sort of gateway, a gateway where the meddalions were the keys. In that case, he had to find the others and get them here as quickly as possible. Suddenely he heard voices and in his suprise he accidentally snapped a twig right next to him. James cursed and hoped the voices weren't those of any dark minions that might be lurking in the area around him.

Dani's dogs came to her sides. She looked at Rowan and smiled. Right after she introduced herself, a lion cub approached them. Then, a guy came up behind it.

"Okay, I guess while we wait for the others we should introduce ourselves. I'm Dani. These are my dogs Maddy and Nitro. We're from Berlin, Germany." seh said as she gestured at each dog when she said it's name.

Rowan had said that she was from England. Had they all come from all over the world? She waited for the guy to introduce himself and say where he was from. It was really interesting to her to meet foreigners, even though she was the foreigner in this case.
