Description

Image

Name: Maurise Tenebris

Role: Demon 6

False Age: 19

Actual Age: around 200 years

Gender: Female

HUMAN FORM : Maurise (meaning ā€œEndless Darknessā€)

Appearance: Her eyes are greenish golden and her ears are pointed. She's just shorter than average with long white hair that reaches mid back, two small horns hidden masterfully underneath her hair. Her body is sleek and curvy, providing a perfect hourglass figure. With plush breasts (C cups) and a succulent figure, Maurise's body is a prize to behold, which is exactly why she wears loose clothing. She inherited her succubus mother's gorgeous appearance but Maurise hides her body, not wanting to be treated as a succubus and instead as a full demon.

Height: 5' 4"

Weight: 124 lbs

Body Type: Slender, curvaceous

Style: Prefers to dress in light colored clothing, favoring white above all, and often can be found wearing loose fitting clothes. Robes are a preferred favorite but she also wears dresses or skirts and loose shirts if she canā€™t find anything else. She hates tight fitting clothing and would rather not exit her room if it means she must wear them. The only time she'd ever wear tight clothes is when she combines with her shadow Semira, where technically her body is covered by shadows.

Demon Form:
Image (Keaira)

DEMON FORM(S) : Keaira (meaning ā€œLittle Dark Oneā€) and Karayan (meaning ā€œThe Dark Oneā€)

Demon Type: Shadow
This is a very peculiar type of demon as they have a human form, a demon and an "ultimate" form as well as a shadow. Her human form is called Maurise and she goes by this name in all forms, though her other forms have different names. Her demon form is called Keaira and her Ultimate Shadow Demon form is called Karayan.

These types of demonā€™s shadow are very different from a normal shadow. It has a mind of its own and can separate from its owner, if they will it. In human form the shadow acts as a normal shadow (for the most part) and cannot disconnect. In demon form it is able to separate from its owner and take shape so to fight on its own and is called a "Shade". It's power though can wane or wax depending on the light. The brighter it is, the weaker the shadow; and the darker is it the more powerful the shadow becomes. Mauriseā€™s shadow is named Semira.

The human form is similar to normal demon human forms. The demon form means that the demon transforms into their own form. In this state the demon is not as powerful as other demon forms. But when they combine with their own shadow they become very powerful and frightening. The only way to stop it and revert the shadow and demon back to their normal states are to expose them to intense light which will separate them again. In all forms the shadow demon is able to control shadows and bend them to his or her will.

NORMAL DEMON FORM: Keaira

Appearance: When Maurise reverts into her demon form Keaira very little changes, only a couple of small physical differences. She grows thick white horns slightly out from her head that curve back into points. Her nails and canines grow longer and sharpen. Her reflexes are heightened, her body made more powerful and flexible, allowing her to take more damage than she could in her human form. Additionally, as she grows angrier her eyes turn red. When they are as red as Semisaā€™s eyes she is able to combine with her shadow and take on her Ultimate Shadow form.

Height: 5ā€™ 4ā€

Weight: 124 lbs

ULTIMATE DEMON FORM: Karayan

Appearance: When Maurise and Semisa combine into their Ultimate Shadow Demon form, Karayan, it is a terrible sight to behold. Consumed by darkness and roughly three stories tall (depending on the time of day) the only color or light is a blood red glow radiating from her eyes. Her torso is almost like an impenetrable breastplate of skeletal darkness and her lower half is a sweeping long skirt of darkness with black tendrils of shadows from the hem. She appears to glide over the ground, leaving darkness in her wake, her only apparent limbs are her arms which have crystalized dark spines on her elbows. Her hands have only four wickedly curved fingers and claws sharped than Damascus steel, the sharpest metal known to man, and a single scratch can fill a victim with paralyzing darkness (though it will fade with the morning light). Her needle-like teeth have the same effect. Her horns turn black and curve upwards, her hair turning black too and she grows two wings almost as large as her that mimic the appearance of a batā€™s wings.

Height: Two to three stories tall

Weight: Same as a three story apartment building

Likes:
-darkness/nighttime
-water/ice
-the woods
-loose clothing
-quietness
-confusing or scaring people
-sunset
-respect

Dislikes:
-bright light/day
-large fires/smoke
-extensive empty plains
-tight clothing
-lots of loud noise
-threats (especially from religious people)
-sunrise
-perverts

Personality:
Maurise is generally quiet and doesnā€™t usually insert herself into a conversation simply because she feels the need to talk. She is pleasant in the presence of others and has no quarrels with being friendly to strangers, but she likes to keep other people at an armā€™s length, not allowing anyone to get to close to her. One of the things that puts her on edge is when people get too close to her as she is an enforcer of personal space. Though Maurise is extremely aware of her own internal feelings, as well as other people's feelings, she doesnā€™t usually express her own feelings, keeping things inside. If they are negative feelings, they may build up inside Maurise, making her irritable and unstable, prone to lash out at whoever is unfortunate enough to step into her line of fire. Though Maurise is not likely to express her feelings, she will speak up when she feels another individual really needs help. She loathes it when people are more concerned with appearance rather than whatā€™s inside and believes firmly at the character of a person should be judged solely on who they are and not what they look like. She will lash out violently at someone if theyā€™re talking pervy, and will ferociously defend anyone who may be the target of such abuse. Deep down she craves a relationship where she is cherished for who she is and not what she looks like. Protective of the ones she holds dear, she would sacrifice everything to defend them, and she knows it. This is why she tries to avoid making friends or loving.

Strengths:
-good at listening
-controls darkness/shadows
-protective (and anti-pervy)
-great at reading people
-understanding/open minded
-shadow companion

Weaknesses:
-antisocial
-bright lights
-constant exposure to the sun (makes her weak)
-perverts
-obsidian/shadow ore (contact could instantly revert her into her shadow demon form)

Powers:
Human Form (Maurise) = can fade into shadows
Demon Form (Keaira) = can fade into and travel by shadows, can control shadows
Shadow Demon Form (Karayan) = can travel by shadows, can control shadows and cast darkness

Fears: Fire, intense sunlight, bright light, boars (once witnessed a pig demon gored another demon and it scared her)

Bio:
Maurise was born to a succubus named Ezire. She was a gorgeous demon with long, silky white hair a ivory colored horns which protruded from her head, curving downwards towards her eyes. Her body was full and lush with large round breasts and a slender, hourglass body. Her sleek bat wings were soft and velvety to the touch and she was one of more popular succubus. Many demons came to her for pleasure and as she was extremely promiscuous she gladly accepted them. Her charms were beyond compare and she was an expert in her line of trade.

Like all succubus, Ezire could control her fertility, deciding when to ovulate and giving the child the best chances of survival. One time she came across a man while travelling across Europe. He was alone and she was bored so she disguised herself as a meek, human girl and approached him. She told him sheā€™d been travelling with her family when theyā€™d been attacked by wild animals and sheā€™d managed to escape. She asked to stay with him for protection and said that in return she would provide for his needs however she could. The mysterious man accepted and they travelled together for a time.

Over the course of a month they discovered each otherā€™s demon nature. The man's name was Itzal, and he had suspected she was a demon from the moment he'd seen her. He confessed to her was a rare breed called a Shadow Demon, explaining a little of what a Shadow Demon was, going as far as to turn into his demon form and separate from his shadow. She was impressed and in return revealed her succubus form. They travelled in each otherā€™s company for almost a year and during that time Ezire fell in love with the Shadow Demon. When Itzal asked her to bear his child, Ezire accepted joyously and they conceived the demon that was to be Maurise.

Erize was six months pregnant when Itzal was killed.

They had been travelling the road between two villages when they were approached by a group of religious mercenaries that called themselves priests. These ā€œpriestsā€ surrounded the couple and bombarded them with questions regarding their faith. After a short interrogation they decided that the two were not in the line of their faith and were condemned to die. Ezire was in no condition to fight as she was too heavily pregnant. In order to defend them Itzal was forced to transform into his demon form which enraged the men further. Ezire was grabbed in an attempt to bargain with Itzal but this made him furious and he combined with his shadow and became his ultimate form as a Shadow Demon.

The fight was bitter and of the group only a fraction of the men survived, but in the end Itzal was destroyed. But his battle provided Ezire with enough time to spread her wings and escape back into the Underworld were, after three months, she gave birth and named the child Maurise. This was the only child Erize has ever and will ever have because she only loves Itzal and she swore to herself that she would never bear another child to any demon but her love.

As Maurise grew older it was clear she took after her mother. Her hair was white and she had small horns, though they curved back. But in other ways she held her father in her. Her ears were pointed, her eyes gold and no wings to be found. When her body developed she had the same succulent figure her mother did, but she favored the shadows. It was obvious that though she had the appearance of a succubus she was a Shadow Demon just like Itzal was. And she listened intently to the stories about her great father, though they were rare to come by as very few had ever meet him. But those who had told her that he was one of the most powerful demons theyā€™d ever come across.

She began to feel bitter towards her mother though as she resumed her promiscuous ways. Maurise especially hated the demons who openly lusted over her motherā€™s body, and was infuriated as they found interest in hers, driving her to cover herself and hide her body. Erize told her that she couldnā€™t help her succubus nature and tried to convice Maurise of how deeply she loved her father, but Maurise was too young to understand and she threated to run away. So one day she did just that. When she and her mother were visiting the Overworld, Maurise left her mother and ran off. Ezire searched desperately for her little demon, but instead found herself trapped by the group of priests. They had been searching for her after sheā€™d escaped and slew her with no remorse. But upon discovering she was no longer with child they decided theyā€™d find and kill Maurise too.

In the meantime, Maurise had tried to find her mother, deciding she didnā€™t actually want to run away. But she couldnā€™t find her and instead found her way to a small village of nomads who had settled down and built themselves a town. Because she had no idea how to get home she stole a robe and hid her horns with the hood. Then she went to the town and the villagers took her in after she told a tragic tale of how sheā€™d been separated from her mother after her father had been attacked by a wild beast. And as she lived in the village she began to see how happy other families were and grew envious.

It took three months of poisonous jealousy to consume her before she broke, but when she broke it was terrifying. Having hade no idea that Maurise was a demon the villagers panicked, but each one of them had there shadow taken possession of and they were helpless. She ruled the village in a single night, but when morning came she returned all the shadows. The people didnā€™t know what theyā€™d suddenly been freed, but Maurise came to them and apologized, openly confessing who and what she was as well as her past. Then, to her amazement, the people forgave her and accepted her with open arms.

They built her a house to herself and she was the protector of the village in a way, very highly regarded. She grew to love the people and the entire town prospered under her. This lasted for almost an entire year before tragedy struck again. The group of roaming priests had gathered a larger group after killing Mauriseā€™s mother a year before and had finally tracked down the young shadow demon. They entered the town, demanding that she be handed over to them for extermination, screaming that she was an abomination of Hell that needed to be destroyed. But the villagers already knew this and refused, some trying to convince the mob that she was not evil, distracting the priests so that the other villagers could hide Maurise.

The priests though had already made their decision and surrounded the village, shouting about how each one of them were witches and demon slaves which needed to burn. Then they lit torches and set the village aflame, trapping all the villagers and Maurise in the center to burn alive. She was unable to use her shadow powers as the flames were too bright and the flickering interfered with her control of the shadows. As the fire grew hotter and it became harder to breath Maurise heard the priests ride off, laughing about how theyā€™d slain the demon village and she was enraged. Throwing her own shadow which could not be altered out into the flames she reached the water tower and tipped it over, drenching the village and putting out the fire. Then, turning into her demon form she and her shadow carried all the villagers who were still alive out of the ashes.

None of the villagers had survived for their wounds were too great and Marise had no knowledge of healing to help them. As the last human died in her arms Maurise wept bitterly and once she had buried each townā€™s person she swore she would never again love as she had. In the place the town once stood she carried in a boulder and placed it in the center of the chared town. Surrounded by the graves of her village people, there is to this day a carving into it that reads: ā€œThe Demonā€™s Village; destroyed because itā€™s people loved what others could not.ā€ Since then sheā€™s been running, angry and broken, hating the priests who have stolen so much from her and growing more and more powerful.

Eventually she heard of contracting familiars and thought to herself that this was good, for if another demon would help her she could abolish the priests and rebuild a village to replace the one she loved and lost. So she came to this shrine to meet a familiar and make a contract, possibly even train some more, before she set out on her immortal lifeā€™s mission: to reclaim a village as compensation for the one the priests destroyed, and to slaughter the priests who murdered her people and parents remorselessly.

Other: Mariseā€™s Shadow is named Semira, meaning "nighttime companion". She is unable to speak or make any noise but can communicate to Maurise through their connection. She likes to make mischief but knows when it's not appropriate. Because she does not sleep, Semira will usually explore as far as she can and keeps watch over Maurise while she rests. Although sometimes she seems vicious, Semira honestly has the best in mind for Maurise and just wants her to be as happy and as powerful as she can be. Though she has long hair when in Maurise is in her human form, she actually has short hair when they separate and Semira becomes a shade.

Summanus walked through the hallway carrying a tray of food. It was in the morning, and his mistress needed her breakfast. It was the regular morning routine, he would make breakfast, bring it to her room, wake her up, and set out her clothes while she ate. if she had anything planned, he would also tell her the day's schedule during this time as well. When he reached her room, he opened her door with one foot, and closed it behind him with the other after he walked through. He set the tray on the vanity, and opened the curtains to the room. Both he and his mistress hated light, but it was the easiest way to wake her up, and it was not bright enough to really bother either of them. It was just annoying enough to get her attention.

"Good morning, Ms. It is time to get up." He moved the food to the table next to her bed, and set it all out in order for her swinging the special tabletop around so that it was over her lap but still connected to the nightstand. "There is nothing planned today, however it is not healthy to sleep too much. Do you have any questions, Mistress?"

The sound of footsteps comings down the hall awoke Maurise from her fitful and dreamless sleep. She wasn't sure if she was thankful or disappointed. As the door opened she kept her eyes close, willing the visitor to leave her be, though this did not seem to be the case. "Good morning, Ms. It is time to get up." a male's voice said, piping up over the sound of the thick curtains being down back. Maurise couldn't help but sigh, it coming out sounding somewhat like a hiss of displeasure.

The voice Maurise recognized, belong to her familiar Summanus. He was the one she'd made a pact with and despite his doting on her as his mistress (he refused to call her Maurise) she still felt a deeply set satisfaction with him, as any demon master would. She'd even be willing to admit he was attractive and collected as any butler should be. And though she'd rarely seen him in combat, she knew he was powerful, which she appreciated most. But his good looks, charm and strength once in a while simply was not enough to keep her from becoming irritated with him and his habit of doting, Maurise thought with a hint of annoyance as she felt her blood prickle uncomfortably as the sunlight hit it. With reluctance she sat up, propping herself up on comfortable pillows, moving her body just enough so it would be out of the sun. The pins and needles subsided quickly.

He moved the food to the table next to her bed, and set it all out in order for her swinging the special tabletop around so that it was over her lap but still connected to the nightstand. "There is nothing planned today, however it is not healthy to sleep too much. Do you have any questions, Mistress?" Maurise's eyes made their way slowly around the room. Semira was nowhere to be seen, which was not unusual as her shadow had a tendency to wander off as Maurise slept. "Yes," Maurise said, slowly taking a sip from the cup Summanus had brought her, "Have you seen Semira yet? Such a quarrelsome shadow should not roam the halls alone. And she'd discussed a desire to... swim, today, in the lake a few miles from here."

Semira had always been fond of swimming, likely because at the bottom of the lake there was so much to see and do, as long as you didn't have to breath. The feeling of the cold water that collected at the bottom, as well as the darkness that engulfed you at the bottom was pleaseing enough, though Maurise had never particularly enjoyed he sensation of swimming in itself. But it was best to keep her sister shadow happy, lest she wreck havoc in the shine house. "Would you be interested in coming along Summanus?"

"I saw her skulking along the halls earlier, but thought nothing of it, Ms. She did not seem to be up to anything." He was not particularly fond of the mischievous Shadow, but he left it alone as long as she behaved. He walked over to the window and closed the curtains again. "Ah, much better. I apologize, mistress, but you have a bad habit of not waking up at the appropriate time." He walked over to the wardrobe, and picked out what she would wear today. Today, he picked a white dress with light pink trim. the top part would hug her chest, so, he added a matching dress jacket that would cut off at her waist. The shoes were white silk slippers, that were no good for outdoors, but would be comfortable around the house. "I will accompany you if you so desire, Ms." He was not fond of swimming, but if his mistress wanted him to come along, then he would be more than happy to oblige.

"I saw her skulking along the halls earlier, but thought nothing of it, Ms. She did not seem to be up to anything." Summanus said, a hint of discomfort in his voice that made the corners of Maurise's mouth perk up just a little bit. Summanus, like many others, wasn't particularly fond of her chaos loving shade, but like many others he had to put up with her.

He walked over to the window and closed the curtains, causing Maurise to relax a little bit as the patch of irritating sunlight vanished. "Ah, much better. I apologize, mistress, but you have a bad habit of not waking up at the appropriate time." Summanus said, sounding less sorry and more matter-of-fact. Maurise rolled her eyes but said nothing, her fraction of a smile the only thing giving away her playful nature.

He walked over to the wardrobe, and picked out a white dress with light pink trim with a matching dress jacket that would cut off at her waist. The shoes were white silk slippers, that were no good for outdoors, but would be comfortable around the house. Maurise took the clothes and motioned for Summanus to turn away, which he did respectfully. Putting the clothes on Maurise looked at herself in the large wall mirror. She eyed the bust of the dress distastefully, the way it hugged her chest and made her curves stand out under the silky fabric. She adjusted the jacket as best as she could and rolled her shoulders, trying to make her breasts look less prominent, but finally decided it would have to remain as it was.

"I will accompany you if you so desire, Ms." Maurise pulled her eyes from the mirror to look at Summanus. "Yes..." She said slowly, drawing out the 's' to make it sound like a soft hiss, "You have not left the shrine in near a week. It cannot be healthy for one to remain inside for long periods of time." Maurise said, mimicking him with mild humor in her voice, "We'll leave later this afternoon as the sun descends."

At that moment a black shadow crossed the room, lunging at Summanus' shadow on the floor and seized his shadow's arm, raising it and spinning it around, causing poor Summanus to be thrown off balance. "Semira!" Maurise scolded and instantly the black shade reconnected with Maurise, flattened against the wall opposite from the two, her chest heaving oddly and her red eyes shining with her strange, silent laugher. Maurise sighed, shaking her head slightly before glancing back at her familiar who seemed to have been the target of Semira's teasing greeting. "Are you quite alright?"
