Introduction

Image

The city of Chalise holds the national record for the number of accidental teenaged pregnancies. There are more abortions every year than any other city in the world. Of the hundreds of girls who become pregnant in this city, most of them do choose to abort.
But there are a select few who choose to keep their babies. And that is why the Sisterhood of Mothers was created.

Ten years ago, the Sisterhood was started by a pair of young women, Amanda Grelheim and Jacklyn Parks, who became pregnant at around the same time. The pair of them were the closest of friends. They wanted to do something to change the lives of the unfortunate women whose childhoods were being ended. They wanted to help them finish school, get good jobs, provide for their children.
They wanted to help themselves.

Ten years later, the Sisterhood has become strong. Young mothers-to-be flock to the house of Amanda Grelheim, who still runs the club, for advice, counseling, donations, and companionship that they could not find anywhere else. The Sisterhood provides many services; diapers, baby clothes, baby food, toys, and classes are all available to the mothers and their children. Some women are even lucky enough to have the Sisterhood pay for their birthing bills. The girls remain a part of the Sisterhood until their child is seven years old. The women of the Sisterhood provide child-care for mothers while they work or attend school, fund events and parties for each other to build morale, and organize fundraisers for the group.

This story will focus on the lives of four young women whose lives have taken a turn for the wild. Three pregnancies, totally unplanned, coming from very different places. Brought together by the desperate need to be understood.
Brought together by the Sisterhood.

The classroom was hot and muggy; far too hot and muggy for Tasha's tastes. Her hormones were all out of whack, and everything already felt hotter to her. Now, having it be over 90 degrees out and sitting in a classroom without air-conditioning was just a form of cruel and unnatural torture...
She groaned quietly, swiping a hand across her brow. It came away damp. It really was far too hot... she couldn't wait to get to the Sisterhood later. The meetings were always fun. She felt accepted there.
And besides... the house was air-conditioned.

The Sisterhood... who was she kidding? She couldn't really be excited... she couldn't help but be scared. She wasn't usually afraid of the Sisterhood, but today was different. Today she had told her boyfriend to meet her there... he had been gone over the Summer. This would be the first time she saw Zac since school had ended.
Since she had found out she was pregnant...
Now it wasn't even possible to hide it from him. Her stomach had swollen in the past few weeks, bubbling out with her growing child. She could feel him move occasionally under her skin; just tiny twitches, not strong enough for anyone else to feel. But it had woken her to a terribly frightening truth. She really was pregnant. She was really having a baby...
And her boyfriend didn't know yet.
Today... this afternoon, at the Sisterhood, she would have to tell him.

Sunny sat at home, her feet up on the sofa as she closed her eyes, trying to get comfortable. Seven months within her pregnancy, she was really starting to feel discomfort especially as her unborn baby weighed her down. The young woman was enjoying the peace and quiet of having the house free for herself as her parents were out at work and her boyfriend went to school. Even if she couldn't go, Hunter still went. She was way too far into her pregnancy to even think about going to school.

Mister and Mrs O'Hagan, Sunny's parents, had been doing her head in since the day she had told them about the pregnancy. They had taken it badly, and it showed in their relationship. She knew they only meant well, but she hated the way they spoke and treated Hunter because of it. It was peaceful times like when they were out working, that Sunny cherished the most.

Her boyfriend, Hunter, had definitely being show signs of stress. Sunny knew from day one that Hunter was not ready for a baby as he tried to suggest abortion. There had been no way that Sunny would have aborted. She was too loving and caring, and the thought of killing something so small inside of her ripped her heart out. So that was never an option and it did cause an argument or two. Though, she could only respect and be proud of Hunter for sticking by her for seven months; there had definitely been times that she thought he was going walk out on her.

As the young woman sat with her hand on her bump, feeling the little person inside her kick slightly, she chuckled slightly and sat up a little. "Ugh, aren't you a little pain. Can't you let mummy have any rest?" Sunny said to her bump before getting up with slight difficulty. As she got up, she felt a slight pain with made her breath in sharply. Most days, Sunny would have cried feeling fed up about her parents, the loneliness of the day, missing her boyfriend and the whole pregnancy in general. But, that day she had something to look forward to: The Sisterhood. It was exactly what she needed. It meant quality time with Hunter, without her parents and with other pregnant girls in somewhat the same situation.

Sunny walked into the Kitchen, craving ice-cream. She was terrible with her cravings which ranged from the most peculiar of combinations such as pickles and jam, ice-cream and orange juice and much much more. But that afternoon, she only ate ice-cream, taking it upstairs with her. Switching on the fan in her room, she stood in front of her mirror, looking at her bump. Her hand ran across it before she turned away. She didn't like being this big, before she had been slender, fit and very particular about her looks. Sunny got changed into a white summer dress, made for pregnant women and put some flat shoes on. Once she was ready, she made her way out of the house to try and have a little walk. It wasn't long now until she'd meet Hunter.

Zac stepped off the plane, with a picture of Home Sweet Home in his mind. After a summer in Califonia with his cousins, he was just about ready to come home. Well, at least ready to be home. He could have stayed in California for the rest of the year, but he would have missed the comfort of his room and more so, Tasha. He'd missed her a lot, and looked forward to a hug from someone who mattered. Cousins, new friends he'd met on the beach, family... none of those hugs brought him the same comfort that came from hugging her.

The car ride back to his house was short. It almost took longer to take all of his bags in from the car than to actually drive home. He lived on a dead-end street of houses that looked almost exactly the same, but he was happy to arrive at his. However, the home-sweet-home feeling wouldn't last all day, because he'd agreed to meet Tasha at some building called The Sisterhood. A weird name; it was a name that made all the masculinity in him cringe. But whatever. She stated the place, and didn't really leave room for negotiation, to he didn't push it.

Which, now that he thought about it, was kind of strange. She was never really the bossy or controlling type. Well, aside from when she was getting into fights. But sounding so serious on the phone was abnormal compared to her usually upbeat personality. Maybe she was just having a bad day. And though he really just wanted to lay in his bed all day, he'd be there for her. He'd written down the directions to The Sisterhood, but the memories of California were still fresh in his mind and all he could really pay attention to was all the stories he was telling his curious parents. The beach memories were his favorites, and he couldn't wait to share them all with Tasha.

Tasha shifted tiredly. This was the last class of the day... if she could just make it through the last class, she would be at the Sisterhood.
Did she really want to be at the Sisterhood today...? If Zac was coming...

Why did study hall always have to happen when she had no homework to distract her from her stray thoughts.

With a frustrated sigh, she pulled out her cell phone. The teacher was out of the room, and Ms. Hanson didn't care either way, as long as Tasha didn't have any work to do. She flipped her phone open and ran through her contacts. She really needed to talk to someone... and all the friends she seemed to have left were from the Sisterhood. She knew Sunny was out of school... she was too far along to attend the new year.
She selected Sunny's phone number and, with practiced hands, typed out a text.
[Hey, Sunny. How're you?]

It was all she could think to say. She was just bored and scared of what would happen that afternoon. She could only hope that Sunny would answer. She needed a distraction.

Tasha hesitated for a moment. She wasn’t sure if she wanted to send another text… the text she would normally have sent…
But Zac would be expecting it. And until she showed up on the doorstep of the Sisterhood, she had to pretend that everything was normal. She just… had to. Or she might go insane.
Swallowing tightly, she typed out the text.
[Zac? Y’there?]

Hunter stood looking at his reflection in the full length mirror that hung inside his closet. "Mr.Hunter lunch is ready downstairs" Maratha's voice came through over the intercom in his room. Giving one last look over of himself and his outfit choice of the day he walked out the closet and slide the door closed he then walked over to the intercom and pressed the talk button "Thanks Maratha. I'll be down in a sec". He knew his mom would be downstairs already his father was still at work and his mother was doing some work from home today. Hunter had gotten home earlier, all the football players had been let out earlier for practice but practice ran short because something came up and the coach had to take off. It was either go back to class or skip the rest of the day and come home earlier, he choiced to come home. Hunter's parents were becoming more and more suspicious of what was going on between him and Sunny. He still hadn't told them about Sunny being pregnant and from them spending like every minute of every day together to getting together every once in a while his parents were becoming concerned. Its not like Hunter didn't want Sunny and his parents to be around each other but he hadn't told his parents of the pregnancy yet and with Sunny's giant belly it was kinda hard to hide. He sighed once then he went around his room picking up his phone, keys and wallet after lunch he was going to Sunny's house because they had a meeting with the Sisterhood today. He had to admit he hated those meetings it just made everything so real, but whatever time he could get with Sunny he would take even if it meant going there.

Having everything he need he left his room and went downstairs to the dining room. His mom was already seating down and Maratha one of the family's private house workers had begun serving the lunch. As he enter the room he gave his mother a kiss on the cheek "Afternoon mother" he said taking a seat next to her "Hey honey" she said with a sweet smile. After serving the food Maratha left the two so they could eat in peace, Hunter dug right in. " So how's your girlfriend. I mean I haven't seen Sunny in weeks. Are you two still even together" his mom was going straight in no sugar coding no nothing Hunter looked up chewing a mouthful of food he slowly swallowed. He cleared his throat "Um...." he was kinda taken off guard but before his mother could start up with more questions he decided to answer the ones she had already asked "First off Sunny is doing fine. Um we have just both been kinda busy you know me and my sports and Sunny and her knowledge. And last time I checked mom me and her are still together." his mother nodded slowly he could tell she was about to ask another question and cut her off before she could "As a matter of fact am heading over to her house right after this." he glanced at the watch on his arm "Actually mom am running late so am just gonna go can you tell one of the workers to clean my room its a real mess up there" he said speed talking he got up and kissed his mother's cheek "Bye mom" he turned and rushed out of the house.

Hunter sat in his car the top was down as he road on the streets to Sunny's house. Sunny had already told her parents about the baby but as he stomach grew it wasn't like she had much of a choice, still he didn't know why it was so hard for him to just come out and say hey mom and dad Sunny is pregnant. He sighed to himself as he pulled into Sunny's family driveway he was really hoping her parents weren't home although they were slowly coming around ever since they found out about him knocking up their little girl they had been giving him the frozen shoulder and it sucked. He figured their reaction was one of the reasons he was scared to come out to his parents he didn't want his parents to treat Sunny the same way her parents had been treating him because it was far from a good feeling to know your partner's parents hated you. He climbed out of the car and walked up to the front door he knocked and then took a step back as he waited for someone to answer.

Sunny had had a lovely walk down the road, allowing the sun to hit her face and the breeze to touch her skin. It was nice just to be free for twenty minutes, normally her parents would have convinced her to have stayed home for 'The Babies safety'... But Sunny knew that wasn't the true reason. They simply didn't want the neighbour's to see their Daughter knocked up at the age of eighteen though, word had definitely gone around and there was no point trying to hide it from anyone any more. She had grew uncomfortable whilst walking, her back starting to ache a long with many other things. She returned to the house.

The young woman began to make her way back to her house, only to find Hunter waiting outside in the drive. She wondered how long he had been waiting for, his face growing slightly impatient. A smile appeared across her face at the sight of her boyfriend, having missed him even though they saw each other practically every day. Advancing towards him, she called over so she'd get his attention. "Hey Hunter, how long have you been waiting there?" Sunny asked sweetly, walking up to him to kiss him gently before opening the door for him. Both of them entered and Sunny headed straight for the Kitchen. She began to pour herself some water. "Do you want anything?" She offered, knowing by now Hunter served himself if he wanted anything. Lately, he seemed to practically live there. Her eyes turned to her cell phone on the side of the kitchen and noticed a new message. It was from Tasha. She replied whilst talking to Hunter. [Hey Tash, I'm great thanx hun, baby is kickin loads today lol it wants out. How are you?] "So, have you told your parents yet? It's really about time they knew.. This little one isn't getting any smaller." Sunny could laugh a little nervously, a hand on her stomach as she leant against the counter.

Sunny didn't like pressurising Hunter telling his parents the news, but there was no way he could keep putting it off. Their baby was due in two months and they had a right to know they were expecting a grandchild. She knew he was scared and on many occasions, Sunny had offered to go to his house and reveal the news with him. But, if he didn't tell them soon, she was determined to walk to his house herself, and tell them straight.

Zac had finished unpacking his clothes from the trip, but the big suitcase remained on the grey comforter of his double-sized bed. And "unpacking" meant tossing almost everything into a laundry hamper, and the rest into the bathroom. He passed a mirror to check if he looked okay before he heard his phone vibrate and lightly spin on the bathroom cabinet. He looked to see who it was from, and seeing Tasha's name, picked up the phone and opened the text. Scanning over it quickly, he replied: [Yea. Just got home. What's up? :)] before shoving his phone into the pocket of his jeans.

Zac was usually always texting somebody, but Tasha was the only one who knew when he'd be getting back. He'd planned it this way because he didn't want his phone blowing up while he was trying to kick back and relax. However, Zac had only had about thirty minutes to lounge across the entire couch to watch some show on TV before he was putting his shoes back on. His mother was in the kitchen making some healthy snack--probably crackers with some kind of spread. Though he had memorized most of her favorite foods, he doubted his mother knew anything about his. For him, she usually bought a variety of chips and other junk food. He was kind of surprised she hadn't forced him into healthy eating.

He walked into the kitchen to snag the car keys from the hook on the wall, when his mother looked up from her snack. His mother, Charlotte, looked just like him. Brown hair that she kept in a short feminine cut. Hazel eyes. Her skin however, was much better. Not a flaw on her face (though that was probably make-up), and her skin just glowed. Maybe he should try that healthy eating crap. "Where are you going?" She asked. It wasn't rude, just inquiring. That's how her questions usually were.
"I'm meeting Tasha somewhere," he told her. Though he wasn't very open with his life to his mother, he was always honest.
"The two of you made it through the summer?" She asked, her recently waxed eyebrows raising a bit before returning to normal as she looked back down at her snack.
Zac nodded. "Yeah. I'm going to get going. Love you."
"Love you too, Zac."

With that, Zac walked out to the car. He ran a hand through his hair, wishing he had combed it, but it could be worse. He threw the car in reverse, and turned up the volume on a CD with a lot of heavy music and screaming. "The Sisterhood" wasn't as far as he thought it'd be though, and he found himself having to turn the music back down after only a short while of driving. He backed into a parking space of the building and rolled his windows down. He didn't see Tasha anywhere. He wondered about going inside, but figured that he was a bit early and she knew what his car looked like.

School ended, after what seemed an eternity, and Tasha headed out to the front door to her car. She could feel peoples' eyes on her back, hear them whispering. She didn't much care, anymore. She had been used to being shunned before she ever got pregnant, and if she hadn't been before the baby she certainly was now. Nothing could touch her...
Except Zac. If he rejected her, she didn't know what she was going to do...

Tasha had to struggle a little bit to get into her car. Her stomach already felt too big to manage, even if the baby-bump had become visible hardly a week before. Already, she couldn't wait until this hell was over... but it was never going to end. When she finally had the baby, she would be a mother. There would be a child there to take care of.
She didn't hate the child inside her. This had been her mistake; hers and Zac's; not the child's. She would do her best to care for her baby.
But that didn't mean she had to be happy that her life had taken a short and very sudden end...

The drive was long and hellish. The air-conditioner in her crappy old car had broken months ago, so her early maternity blouse was soaked with sweat by the time she pulled up in front of the glorious white house of the Sisterhood. It left her no excuse to hover in the car, avoid going out into the open and confronting Zac. It was too hot not to step out... and she could see Zac's car from where she was parked. At least he couldn't see her yet...

With shaking hands, she pulled out her phone and returned his text.
'What's up?' he had asked...
Her time was up.

[I need you to see something... so please don't freak out, alright?] Tasha texted even as she struggled out of the car. She wasn't sure her legs were going to hold her up. Tucking her phone into her back pocket and folding her arms protectively over the baby-bump that she would not be able to hide from him, even at this distance, she started walking towards his car.

The day had been spent in the upstairs bathroom, for no other reason but it was the coolest room in the house. Ella was finding the heat of the day to be excruciating, she used this as her excuse as to why she hadn't gone to school today. But knew perfectly well the heat had nothing to do with her decision. She was already sick of staring eyes and whispered giggles in the hallways and yet it had barely begun. The afternoon was drawing closer and Ella began to peel herself from the cool tiled floor and have a shower.

The shower was a thinking place, one where Ella would dwell on all things in perspective. Well it used to be about "all" things, now just one. As the soothing water licked at her body, her mind raced around the pregnancy and what was coming for her. Tears welled up in her eyes, a mix of emotion balled up into one tiny drop of water that ran down her cheek, lost with the other spraying drops from the shower and finishing its journey on her lips, salty and warm. Ella was not crying, nor sobbing, but this chain of events just seemed to happen when she would think about the growing bundle in her.

Stepping out of the shower she reached for a towel and dried herself, the water seemed to have calmed her. She got dressed in a pair of trousers and a shirt that belonged to her brother. Her clothes had been too tight as of late and she had yet to buy maternity wear. Once dressed she moved out of the bathroom into the hallway where she knocked on her eldest brother's room. This knock symbolized to him that she was ready to go. She went down the stairs, passed her mother without saying a word and got into her brother's car. The smell of his aftershave overwhelming any other smell. She didn't mind, she liked the masculine smell and the familiar scent of her brother. Ella knew she needed a car so she didn't have to bother her brother to drive her, but she had neither the money nor the will to give up the few minutes in the car with him. One of the only times they ever spent together anymore. She waited silently for him to drive her to the sisterhood.

Hunter had been standing outside Sunny's house for about fifteen minutes before he heard her voice "Hey Hunter, how long have you been waiting there?" he turned around as she walked up to him and gave him a gentle kiss "Not long" he said forgetting about his wait for her. When she opened the door he walked in behind her and followed her to the kitchen. As she opened the fridge to pour herself some water Hunter took a seat on a counter top "Do you want anything?" she asked him being the good host that she always was when he came over. He shook his head no "Not right now. If I need something I'll get it" he said simply because he stopped bringing Sunny over to his house he had become a regular at hers. Sunny got side track when he phone went off he noticed her texting and wondered who it was most likely either it was her parents or one of the expecting mothers from "The Sisterhood".

"So, have you told your parents yet? It's really about time they knew.. This little one isn't getting any smaller." Hunter groaned as Sunny bought up the one thing he was hoping to avoid talking about. He scratched the back of his head "Um.......no. I haven't told them yet" he mumbled out, he knew how badly Sunny wanted him to tell his parents and although she never really wanted to put pressure on him as the months came and went she had been becoming a lot more persistent about the matter. "Actually I was thinking about not telling them. Just letting the next two months go by then after the baby is born I would come home with it and when my parents asked me who it belonged to I would say Hey mom and dad guess what I knocked up Sunny and here is your new grandchild do you want to meet him .... or her" Hunter gave the most convincing smile he could but it quickly fell as he realized that was his most stupid idea yet. "Look I don't know when am going to tell them but I promise I will" he said hopping off of the counter and giving Sunny a hug "Everything is going to work itself out".

Zac used his fingers to drum along the steering wheel to the music, not even noticing the two different teenage pregnant women walking into the building he was parked near. The beats were fast, and he barely kept up with them despite all the times he'd finger-drummed to these familiar songs. He barely noticed that his phone had vibrated until it was followed a little ringtone interrupted his music. He picked up his phone and opened the text. [I need you to see something... so please don't freak out, alright?]
Okay? Zac wondered what that was supposed to mean. But whatever. Girls had a way of over-reacting, he doubted he couldn't take whatever she had to show him. Texting back a quick [Alright.], he looked up from his phone and out of the windshield in front of him. Walking towards him from across the parking lot, he recognized Tasha and he smiled. He'd already all but forgotten the serious text in his excitement to see her again. He only gave her a quick glance before he was opening his door and starting a slow walk towards her with arms wide open. He was itching to tell her everything about his summer.

He wouldn't lie, though. As much as he'd missed her and loved to see her now, the first thing he thought was "she gained weight." Was this a problem? No. He'd stay with her no matter what she weighed. But maybe he could convince her to go on a diet or something. But the closer Tasha got, the more he noticed that it was centralized around her stomach. No big deal. Lots of people gain weight in only certain places. Again, a good workout and diet would take care of that. But then she was only a few feet away. She hadn't gained an inch of weight anywhere else. The two pregnant women who'd walked into the building finally returned to his mind, though he hadn't even paid them any attention until now.
His arms fell a little and he could barely tear his eyes off of her stomach. When she was finally standing right in front of him, he could finally look up into her eyes. His mind, contrary to what you would think, was completely blank. Though he wanted to hug her, if her unnaturally round belly was because of what he thought it was, he couldn't bring himself to wrap himself around... it. The belly. That's all it was, he hoped. Maybe this would turn into just an offensive assumption and she really had just gained weight. The atmosphere grew quiet and awkward quickly. He didn't know what else to say besides to ask, "What's going on?"

Sunny's heart dropped with disappointment as he told her that he still hadn't told his parents the news, to then joke about what he was going to do before hugging her and promising her all would work itself out. She sighed and hugged him back, leaning to one side a little so her bump couldn't get in the way. She leant her head a little on his chest before taking his hand and placing it on her stomach. Sunny had felt the baby kicking so she gave Hunter the opportunity to feel. They'd both feel him or her kick. "Hunter... Seriously. I think we should tell them tomorrow. I'll come with you, and we can show and tell them together. They'll warm up to the idea once they see their grandchild..." Sunny said softly, looking down at her bump before returning her gaze to Hunter. She was serious. It was stressing her out knowing that her boyfriend was stressed about still not having told his parents. "The longer you leave it, the worse it will be." She added before tapping him on the chest lightly and pulling away from him.

She grabbed his car keys which he has put to one side of the counter and placed it in his hand. "Come on, lets head to the Sisterhood before my parents get back. If you think that this is lecturing, then just you wait until what my parents have lined up for you. They have a bone to pick with you, or something..." Sunny shrugged and gave him a soft smile before leading him out of the house. Half way to the door, the young woman stopped and took in a deep breath, her face expressing the discomfort and pain she had just felt as her hand reach for her bump. Regaining her breath, Sunny took Hunter's hand and walked out to the car slowly.

Once in the car, Sunny sighed heavily with contentment, enjoying the comfort of Hunter's car seats. She waited until he was in the car and the engine was on so that she could start talking again. She put her windows down and expected him to keep the roof down, reaching into the glove pocket for her sunglasses. She always kept them in his car. Putting them on, she spoke. "So, how come you were early getting her today? I thought you had soccer?"

Sunny allowed for the conversation to keep rolling as they arrived to the Sisterhood. She saw a few cars parked and Tasha heading to what must have been her boyfriend's car. She waited for Hunter to get out the car to help her out. It was one thing having a nice car, but getting out of it whilst pregnant was another thing.

Tasha watched Zac's smile fade. Watched his arms drop; only slightly, but enough to get the message across. This wasn't a welcome challenge. It hadn't even occurred to him that this could happen. He had thought so little about the consequences of their little adventure just before the end of school... he couldn't even make that last leap from weight-gain to pregnancy. Her breath hitched in her throat. Her face got hot.
And then tears were swelling up out of her eyes, streaming down her cheeks. She raised her hands to cover his face, sobbing audibly. She hadn't cried about this... not for months, not since the morning sickness had stopped. But this was too much; watching Zac's love for her fade right before her eyes. She wanted to run, but she couldn't make her feet move. All she could do was stand there in front of him feeling fat and ugly and guilty and stammer an apology.

"I'm sorry," she whispered brokenly. "I'm so sorry..."
~.~
(In the Sisterhood building.)

Amanda bustled around the room, setting the food out on the table as the girls started to arrive for the meeting. There was fruit and chips, pretzels and bread and cheese, and of course a cake; she wasn't a fool. Just because they were pregnant didn't mean they weren't still teenagers. Tea and soda and juice had been set out at the end of the table. The entire living-dining room was decorated as always, with pink and blue streamers and balloons, like she was throwing a baby shower. In the corner were the shelves and baskets of free baby supplies she kept out for the girls to take when they needed it.

There were about seven girls in the room, most of them pregnant to varying degrees, a couple with little ones holding their hands and babbling, or even speaking. The Sisterhood was there for the girls even after their babies came.

Though his mind still felt fuzzy and numb, Zac couldn't help but feel bad when she started crying. Maybe he should have reacted a little differently? But how was he supposed to? This was the last thing he'd been expecting to come home to. But no matter the circumstances, this was Tasha, and she was hurting. He took both of her hands with his and tried to reassure her. "Shh..." He couldn't even bring himself to say the words "it's okay." He knew that just holding her hand through this wasn't enough, so he did his best not to seem uncomfortable as he pulled her into a hug. It wasn't a tight hug, it was a keep-our-stomachs-from-touching hug, but a hug nonetheless. He tried to hold her tight as she cried. His shirt had a growing wet spot already growing on it, but it didn't bother him as much as when his shoulders suddenly dropped. Just a drop of realization had hit him. He forced the words to the two of them, "It'll be okay."

Zac didn't know if it'd be okay. How would anyone know? But he was trying to comfort Tasha and be optimistic, without really thinking about his part in this. "How did this happen?" He whispered, though he knew exactly how it happened. Through all the memories he'd just made in California, his thoughts ran all the way back to the end of school. That one night when they weren't as careful as they should have been. But then, that was a long time ago...
He pulled away, a darker thought coming to mind. He kept his hands firm on her shoulders, letting her know that he was still here and willing to talk. But he had to ask. He blurted it out before trying to think of a more sensitive way to put it. "Is it even mine?"

Hunter saw the disappoint on Sunny's face when he told her that he hadn't come out to his parents about their baby on the way and it made him feel kind of guilty. When she placed his hand on her belly Hunter couldn't help but feel a bit awkward when he felt the baby moving in Sunny's stomach. "Hunter... Seriously. I think we should tell them tomorrow. I'll come with you, and we can show and tell them together. They'll warm up to the idea once they see their grandchild..." Sunny told him speaking softly as she looked down at her stomach Hunter moved his hand he could tell Sunny was serious about this he sighed "No its fine. I'll tell them by myself tomorrow morning." you could tell by the tone in his voice that he wasn't exactly happy about this but it didn't seem like he had much of a choice in the matter. "The longer you leave it, the worse it will be." she added Hunter than groaned not saying anything in response. This baby was ruining his life and it wasn't even here yet, the whole school knew about Sunny being pregnant and thought some of the rumors around school were about Sunny cheating on Hunter with so and so at so and so everyone was still pretty convinced Hunter was the father. Hunter's reputation had gone from the hot athletic charming star player to being the guy who knocked up Sunny O'Hagan this whole thing was ruining his reputation at school and now it was going to mess up him and his family.

Sunny grabbed his keys off of the counter and handed them to him. "Come on, lets head to the Sisterhood before my parents get back. If you think that this is lecturing, then just you wait until what my parents have lined up for you. They have a bone to pick with you, or something..." Hunter groaned aloud 'what now' he thought to himself as his girlfriend shrugged and gave him a soft smile and leaded him out of the house. Half way to the door Sunny had stopped suddenly she placed her hand on her stomach Hunter could see the discomfort on her face but he didn't know what to do. He stood sideline watching Sunny when she regained herself she took Hunter's hand and walked out of the house and to the car.

Hunter opened the door for Sunny once she was in he closed the door and walked around to the driver's seat and got in. He started the ignition turning on the engine backing out of the driveway he rolled down all of the windows and left the top down as he started the drive to The Sisterhood. Hunter hoped it was going to be a quiet drive to The Sisterhood but after putting on her glasses Sunny started up another conversation "So, how come you were early getting her today? I thought you had soccer?" Hunter was glad that at least this talk was a lot less tense "I don't play Soccer Sunny, I play football, basketball and track. And today football practice ended early because something with the coach came up and he left earlier so I did too."

They continued a talk about basically nothing up until they reached The Sisterhood. Hunter took the closest open spot he saw to the building, after parking the car he got out. At first he was going to just walk to the building but then he remembered he had to help Sunny out first he walked over to her side of the car opening up the car door her took her hand and helped pull her up out of the car. After getting her out he looked around for a moment noticing the wobbling teens heading into the building he looked at Sunny "Let's get this over with" he said nonchalantly as he started his walk to the building.

As Hunter pulled Sunny up, she couldn't help but glare at him a little. His attitude really did suck that afternoon. So what if they had had a nice easy discussion about nothing on their way to the Sisterhood, but his groans, little comments and his reluctance towards talking about telling his parents the news and even about the baby at all annoyed her. She didn't know if it was just her hormones and the whole pregnancy thing that made her feel slightly grouchy all of a sudden but she didn't care. It was his baby, partly his fault that she had fell pregnant (They had been both up for it on the night, that was for sure.), it wasn't him carrying a kicking and heavy baby for months and it wasn't him that had to practically stop his social life. If his popularity and his family meant that much to him, more than Sunny and his baby, then she was prepared to let him go. Of course, she didn't say that.

Sunny made her way into the Sisterhood, the normal set up was made as little children ran around the place and pregnant teen girls with and without their boyfriend had chats with one another. Sunny was giving Hunter the cold shoulder for the meantime as she went over to Amanda who had set up the whole room. "Hey Amanda." She said, just to make it known that she had arrived. She greeted a few other woman as Sunny looked around the room but only to see a few new born babies in their Mother's arms, others helping teach them how to bathe and change them. She began to feel sick and nervous. The further she got into her pregnancy, the scarier it was all becoming. Soon, she would be doing that and the worst part of it all was the idea of going into labour. It terrified her. Sunny began to feel hot and bothered, realising that the Sisterhood was nothing but of a reminder of what was going to happen to her. She looked over to Hunter to see him looking slightly uncomfortable as usual and a look of reluctance to be there in the first place.

She made her way over to him, no longer too angry at him. She just wanted to be near him, she needed comfort. "I'm sorry," She said quietly, taking his thumb and rubbing it. She suspected that he was getting used of her being angry at him one moment, and not at the next. She pulled him to one side of the room so they could talk quietly to one another in privacy, she had a few things to say and the Sisterhood was always a good place for her to talk to Hunter about things which bothered her because she knew she'd have support from others if ever she needed it. "I'm scared." Sunny said looking down at her bump. "I'm scared that something if going to go wrong... I'm scared that I or you won't cope with the pressure of being a parent... I'm scared this is going to tear us apart." Tears had built up, typical for a pregnant woman. Quickly she wiped them away and looked up at Hunter, struggling for words. "I'm just sorry I'm putting you through this, it is tearing my heart apart seeing you like this." Sunny hugged Hunter with her head buried in his chest, trying not to cry silently. It was hard and she knew a few other girls were looking, but nothing like this mattered at the Sisterhood, it was a good place to be emotional.

Tasha sobbed quietly as Zac hugged her. She was still terrified, still worried that he would leave... but there was immense comfort at being tucked into his arms. At least he wasn't going to walk away without a word... he was doing his best to comfort her. Not that either of them knew what he was supposed to say to make her feel better. When you're seventeen, almost eighteen, with a baby on the way, there isn't really much that can be said to make you feel better...

And then she felt Zac start to pull away. One part of her panicked, told her to cling on tighter to the father of her baby. But her rational mind was still mostly in control... he probably just wanted to say something. She let him go.

"Is it even mine?"

Tasha stiffened at that. How dare he even-?! How could he think-?! Whose else would it-?! She couldn't quite finish a thought. It was probably just the pregnancy hormones that made her so volatile, but the suggestion that she had been cheating infuriated her. And she had been a snappy, relatively violent girl to begin with. She lifted her tear-stained face to glare at Zac.

"Of course it is!" she hissed angrily. "I would never do that to you!"

Then she caught herself and flushed bright red, turning her face away. "Sorry..." she whispered. "Didn't mean to snap..."

Zac knew he should have taken the time to think that question through before he'd just said it. Now that he thought about it, "Are you sure it's mine?" would have been a nicer way to put it...it wouldn't have sounded so much like he had accused her. He felt bad, but slid his hands down her arms to hold both of her hands again. She apologized for snapping at him, and he refused it. "I'm sorry. That didn't come out right. I just had to make sure, Tasha. I've been gone a long time. But I believe you," he said, looking her straight in the eye. "I do."

It grew quiet again, and everywhere Zac looked he seemed to only see pregnant women. God, they were everywhere. Why was this happening to him? He didn't get it. So many other people he knew weren't careful with their lovers and you don't see those girls with baby bellies... He sighed, bring his attention back to Tasha. His eyes flickered to her stomach before meeting her eyes again. "So what are we going to do next?" He asked. Before she could reply he asked another question, this time trying to word it more carefully. "Are you keeping it?" He thought that was safe enough. Then again, this was Tasha; and weren't pregnant chicks supposed to be moody too?

Hunter noticed the glare in Sunny's eyes as she got out of the car he wasn't about to start up something over nothing and just closed the car door back. He locked his car doors before turning to her he knew that his attitude wasn't exactly called for but he was human and he was slightly ticked off about this whole situation. How could she except him not to be he shows up at her house just expecting to have a nice chat before driving her to this Sisterhood place then she gives him an ultimatum saying either he tells his parents or she was going too. Like what the hell what kind of person does says or does some crap like that. At times although he had never vocalized it out loud he had thought of just calling it quits with Sunny and just stepping out on Sunny and this baby. But, he knew that he wasn't that kind of guy and as much as he wanted to do this at times he just couldn't go through with it.

Hunter followed Sunny into the Sisterhood he walked slowly behind her he really wasn't in the mood for this whole thing but he was already here so he had to get it over with. He looked around the room seeing couples, future moms and dads just standing around talking with others. There was a couple of routy little kids running around the place playing together, the site was cute yet annoying all at the same time. Sunny was apparently giving Hunter the cold shoulder he could tell by her body language towards him and the fact that she hadn't said a word since the pulled up was also a pretty good hint. As Sunny walked away from him to talk with Amanda a guy from Hunter's school approached him. The dude's girlfriend also had a bun in the oven, when the guys first bumped into each other at the Sisterhood they had made a deal with each other not to tell anyone from their school about their current situations.

"How's it going Hunter." Daniel asked standing in front of Hunter. Hunter wasn't sure if he should be honest with Daniel or just lie and say that everything was going fine. After a moment of standing in silence Hunter decided to tell Daniel what was really on his mind because unlike Sunny he didn't feel comfortable talking to a bunch of strangers about his feelings and as of right now he couldn't talk to Sunny and Daniel was the only friend he really had her at this moment. "To be honest ..... things suck right now. Sunny is being all bipolar and at this point I can't tell if she is just being a bitch or if its just her hormones. Like she is making me come out to my parents about everything and according to her if I don't she will and am about to be a father in two months or sooner so am kind of freaking out here". Daniel was quite for what seemed like an hour but in reality was only a couple of minutes "Dang dude you need to chill out." Daniel stated coolly "First off I can bet that if Sunny its usually like the way that she is right now its her hormones. Trust me I know how you feel there because at times I will think that things are going good then Jasmine just starts crying out of nowhere. Secondly I can't blame her for pushing you I mean the girl is seven months along how much more time do you need you've had seven months" Hunter sighed leaning back against the wall as Daniel continued on "I know your scared Hunter but the longer you wait the harder its going to be. Its now or never man." Daniel started to walk away but paused for a second and turned back to Hunter "And as for the whole fatherhood thing were all scared" he gave a small smile before walking over to his pregnant girlfriend.

By the time Sunny had walked back over to him he had calmed down and it appeared she had too. "I'm sorry" she said quietly taking his hand in hers and rubs his thumb. He figured Daniel was right about the hormones and although he was getting use to it he still was okay with her sudden outbursts but he let that go for now. "I'm scared." Sunny said looking down at her bump. "I'm scared that something if going to go wrong... I'm scared that I or you won't cope with the pressure of being a parent... I'm scared this is going to tear us apart." he saw the tears developing in her eyes she wiped them away and looked up at him "I'm just sorry I'm putting you through this, it is tearing my heart apart seeing you like this." Sunny hugged Hunter with her head buried in his chest he held her saying nothing. He didn't no what to say so he said nothing he just held her.
