Full name: Courtney Reese
Gender: Female
Age: 17
Personality: Courtney is soft and sweet as long as you don't get on her bad side. One you do, she'll strike back but it isn't her nature to hurt others. She can sometimes surprise others with sarcasm, but she tries to keep her jokes in good taste. Unless she's having a bad day. Then she drops her sweet nature and strikes out at someone else for once, but that doesn't happen very often. When she first had to kill zombies, all she could think about was the people they used to be. She has overcome her initial shock, however, and tells herself that it's okay to kill anything for your own survival. Some call her naive, and maybe she can be, for the most part it's just her sensitive side showing through. She embraces her immaturity and doesn't let it bother her. Courtney tries to keep an optimistic outlook of life, although maybe a little to optimistic. Her motto is "When there's nothing good about a situation, pretend there is." But she isn't without flaws. Despite her age, she still has the childish habit of sugar coating the world. She likes to believe that everyone deserves a second chance and maybe a third. This gets her in trouble but as said, she won't be quite as sweet as you thought after you've finally run out of chances in her book. Although she tries to take everything in stride, small thinks tend to bother her such as being wrong. However, Courtney isn't one to hold grudges and will be extremely loyal when she finds someone she truly trusts.
Appearance: Courtney is average height at 5'6" and about 130 pounds. Her hair is naturally golden brown but the sun has given in blonde highlights, she has a blunt line of bangs, and her eyes are gray. She freckles easily and therefore has many on primarily her pale face and arms. They are light though, and sometimes hard to see. Cortney isn't skinny, but she is an average weight. She is quite curvy and has wide hips.
Other: She has a slight southern slur after living in Georgia for two years. Her equipment is a pocket knife, a few dollars (now useless), some bandages and guaze, four unopened bottles of water, a package of granola bars, a few yards of rope, a box instant Quaker oatmeal, two old chocolate bars, a North Face jacket, and sturdy five-pocket backpack.
Short history: Courtney lived with her mother, father, and little sister Bella before what she calls her "new life". She was out at her part time job at a fast food joint (the joy) when she first saw the zombies. She drove back home as quickly as she could but her family was gone without a trace. The car was gone, though, so she thought that they were on the road to somewhere safe. Her only hope was that they were still alive. Now quite realizing what she was doing but letting instincts kick in, she packed up some basic supplies and hit the road in her old van. When her van ran out of gas she was lucky enough to meet to survivors named Rick and Vanessa. Rick and Vanessa were about 40 years old and married. Courtney became a sort of child to them and they embraced her joyful view of life. They divided their supplies and stuck together for a little over and month before Rick and Vanessa got infected. Courtney escaped while the middle-age couple stood their ground against a group of zombies and she felt so guilty that she didn't take their supplies after they were bitten. A month after their death, her supplies are lingering and she regrets that. Armed with only a pocket knife and the occasional tree branch, she just keeps running until she can find another group. She calls her life after leaving her family her New Life in an attempt to remind herself that everything she lost is gone and there's no in hoping the future world will finally be safe.
