Appearance
Let's start with Shay's face. She has a oval shaped face that is complimented by her blonde hair. Her bright round eyes are filled with a deep green. It sparkles in the sun making then teal. Her complexion is flawless with minimal makeup. When she does have a lot of make up on, she is usually messing around. Her lips aren't very plump, but she loves to brighten them with a thick red. Her nose is pretty big, but she believes that it completes her face and it never bothered her.

Now onto her body. She is petite with little muscle, but she doesn't need it. She stands at 5'1" and weighs around 115lbs, but it isn't polite to ask a lady her weight. Her chest is averaged size with a non existent butt. Her legs aren't that toned, but they are defined. She walks a lot, so she is always working her legs. Her feet are size 6. She doesn't know where her feet size came from, they are just that small.

Special Marks
No tattoos, no birthmarks. She does have a scar from a training session. It falls across her back and she usually hides it.

Personality

Shay is pretty simple when you get to know her, but no one has really gotten the chance. She is kind-hearted yet firm. She refuses to let anyone walk over her and act high and mighty. She is truthful about everything and doesn't care who it hearts. When she is lied too, she feels betrayed and it takes a while to gain the trust of Shay again. Her intelligence is what put her in the academy in the first place. She is the only one in the place that got in because she was good enough, not because her parents had money. Shay is very humble for a lot of things and she doesn't ask for much. Most of the time other people go first and when she puts herself first, it is usually to assist another. Even though Shay seems like the outgoing type from the outside, she is shy. She isn't one to spark up a conversation and she doesn't know how to keep one. Relatively, she has no friends and seems to get by without a problem. For as long as Shay could remember she believed love was just a myth, but in reality she is scared of it. Scared that it will change her so she doesn't. Never had a boyfriend or had her first kiss. But of course The Accepting Shay, is okay with that.

History
Shay was born not knowing her mother. She died at birth and she never cared to learn more about her. It would bring more heart ache to her father and the knowledge won't bring her mother back. For about 5 years while Shay lived on earth with her aunt. Her father couldn't take care of Shailah while at the station so he waited until she was old enough to take care of herself.

Her father was the Station's engineer. It was the only way he could get a home on the station. No one respects him and many people don't see why he has to reside up their with them. Shay doesn't like the way people talk about her father, but she can't say anything. One complaint to the person who runs the ship, they replace her ship. Her father was an engineer genius, so they keep him around. He gets paid little. The 'house' they live in. Is one floor, two bedroom, a kitchen/dinning room, and a small living room. It was fine for two people, but it is a first sign of being a poor person.

From her years of being on the ship, it came time for the academy entrance exam. Of course all the kids that get in have rich parents to pay for it. Shay got in by a scholarship because she actually passed the entrance exam. It proved that she was smarter than all of the kids in the academy. She was okay with that. It was something that she could always hold onto. Now academy was over and she graduated with honors, with a few others that never really deserved to be there. Now her future awaits, but she might not be ready for it.

Kylar Ithalin's day had started out much as it always did. He'd awoken around nine that morning, though in all honesty he felt as if that had been far too early a time to rise from his bed. The night before he'd spent as he always did..staying out until the early morning hours at the Raze, a nightclub that was located on the far right side of the Station. Kylar got out of his large bed and made his way through his bedroom. He'd quickly gone into his bathroom. He got a quick shower and then proceeded to get ready for the day.

Though his class only had a day or so before their actual graduation, Kylar had to admit that he was rather nervous about the whole thing. He had no doubt that he'd end up working at his family's business, after all, there were very few places that that were not run by the Ithalins. However, that didn't make him feel any better. His father wanted him to eventually take over the business and though Kylar wasn't opposed to that, he hated that his father, Dashiell, was so keen on telling him how to live his life. The older man was not known as being a kind person to most. It had been a long time since Kylar and Dashiell had seen eye to eye.

Kylar dressed and then applied the eyeliner that he almost always wore. He then fixed his hair up and made sure that he approved of his appearance. Happy, he grabbed his bag and made his way out of his room and downstairs to the main part of the home. His father was already gone, which was normal. His mother was most likely in her sitting room, reading or painting. He grabbed himself something to eat and then headed out of the house. He didn't need to go to any classes so he would be spending the day at his father's company. He wasn't looking forward to it. He could already see his father and how he would parade him around the large building.

Later::Around 8 pm::Location {The Raze}

After he'd been allowed to leave the giant building that his father worked in, Kylar had quickly made his way to The Raze. He wanted to do nothing but have a good time. He had only a few days before he would be working full time and he would no longer be able to live his current lifestyle. For the past hour, he'd been up on stage performing with his band. Singing one of the songs that he'd written not too long ago, he could feel his fears and worries slowly fading away.

He went through the next few hours in the same fashion. When his band was done, they got off of the large stage and made their way to one of the open booths to sit in. Kylar did not sit, however, stating that he would head to the bar to order drinks and food. He slowly made his way through the throng of people that were dancing to the music of the new band that was up. The members of his band, Unfinished Belief, were all very close. He'd known all of them since they were children. They were all in the Academy together, all of them ready to graduate just as Kylar was. Caden was their guitarist and Kylar's closest friend. Then there was Zeke was on the bass and then there was Liam on the drums. Kylar could not imagine having any better friends. However, just like most on the Station, they did not care for those that did not have as much money as they did. Kylar stopped at the bar, leaning forward and placed the order. The bartender nodded and began preparing the order. Just as Kylar was getting ready to leave and head back to the table, his eyes fell onto a beautiful young woman that he could not recall having ever seen before. He eyed her for a few short moments before he spoke to her. "I'm sorry..but I can't say that I've ever seen you around here before." He flashed her a bright smile before continuing. "I'm Kylar and you are?" He waited for her to speak to him.

As he waited for her to speak, his gaze remained focused on her. He felt as if..maybe he had met her before, but..that just couldn't be. There was no way that he would have forgot her. Unless..it was from when he was a child. He quickly pushed the thoughts from his mind, trying to focus on the young woman. Suddenly, he heard Caden yelling for him to hurry up with their drinks. Kylar laughed, "Seems that my friends are growing impatient with me.."

'There is no point in going to the academy' she thought as she shut off her alarm clock. The house was silent as usual. Her father,Sampson, worked from really early in the morning to untimely hours in the night. She rarely saw her father. Especially when something is wrong with the Station Engine. There will be days when she can't see him. But she is a Moluse. We don't complain. And we don't make a big deal out of anything.

She was shuffling about in her bedroom before getting into her bathroom. It didn't take long for her to shower and get back into her bathroom. Her hair was wet, but she let it dry as she decided on an outfit. No one ever commented on them. But she liked to dress up. It was just something that she did. Trying to get the respect that the academy kids didn't ever give. Her outfit was simple, but it screamed Shay. But her signarture read lips stood out.

Running her hands through her blonde curls she grabbed her bag and left her house. Shay walked into the building and braced herself for being ignored, frowned upon, and teased. Yet a typical day for Shay.

Location: The Raze | Time" Around 8pm

She was sitting in a booth in at the raze, watching people dance. Sometimes she didn't even know why she came. Maybe it was just somewhere where people don't know her that well. Or don't know that she is a Moluse. Her family is only famous for being the poor people on the Station. Holding a soda in her hand she watched the band play. The famous Kylar Ithalin took center nad sang his heart out. He sounded great. As did the entire band. She knew all of them. They all went to the academy, meaning they were all rich, meaning they possibly didn't even know Shay existed. But she was used to that.

Checking the time she sighed. She was getting ready to leave when someone spoke to her. "I'm sorry..but I can't say that I've ever seen you around here before." She turned to face him and she hid her the look of shock. "I'm Kylar and you are?" Why was Kylar talking to her? Why did he not know who she was? Was she in some kind of sick dream? It wasn't helping that his eyes were searching her. She felt kind of exposed to him, but there was nothing to hide. Except for her fear.

She was debating whether or not to answer him, but he friends called to him. 'Maybe he will leave' but he turned back to her and said something else. "Seems that my friends are growing impatient with me.." A small smiled appeared on her face in attempt to be polite. "I'm Shailah, but call me Shay" The next thought in her mind was trying to figure out how to A) get this guy to leave or B) hold a conversation with him.

"I'm Shailah, but call me Shay" At hearing the young woman speak, Kylar turned his gaze back to her. He could swear he'd seen her somewhere though where eluded him. It was frustrating to him. It was no matter. Suddenly, the order that he'd placed was ready and on a tray. Kylar paid the man but the bartender then began trying to insist that he would take the tray to the table. This was something that Kylar was used to. He shook his head before speaking. "No, that's all right. I can manage. I'm sure, but thank you." Kylar took the tray before turning back to Shay. "Sorry, but looks like it's time for me to head back to my table. Before I go..can I ask you something?" He paused for a moment, allowing her the chance to speak. "We've..never met, have we?"

As he stood there, waiting for Shay to speak to him, Kylar couldn't help but watch her. And then Caden was yelling once again. Kylar smiled impishly at Shay. "Well, I've really got to go..but I'll see you around..nice meeting you, Shay!" With that, Kylar quickly made his way from the young woman and rejoined his friends. The rest of his night was spent drinking, eating, or just having a good time. Though he was happy to be with his friends, Kylar found himself still dreading the coming days. He loved his father, that was a given. He was just worried about letting him down. Kylar had no siblings and so both of his parents always seemed to lay everything on his shoulders.

Kylar had already been helping out around Ithalin Corp, in the tech department. His father had seen early on how talented Kylar was with electronics. Ever since then, he was always being asked to come up with things that could be helpful to the Station. He honestly didn't mind this, in fact, he rather enjoyed being able to work on things that would eventually help out those that lived on the Station. The thoughts brought a small smile to his face. Tomorrow, they'd be graduating and then he'd truly be able to begin working for the family business. More importantly though, he would finally be seen as a legal adult.

The Next Day::

Kylar had gotten up that morning and had taken extra time to get ready for the day. Instead of wearing his usual dress shoes, he wore instead a pair of converse. They were still in style, even though they were one of the oldest brands that were around. He did his hair up, making sure that every strand was where he wanted it. He then did his eyeliner and then deemed himself ready for the day. He did not take his bag with him, instead deciding that he would most likely not need it.

He then made his way out of the house and to the Academy. Once he arrived, it was easy to see that everyone was excited about graduating. Everyone was running around, trying to get ready or simply standing around chatting with their friends. Kylar quickly found his group of friends and joined them. They stood there, talking, when it was announced that it was time. Much as graduations had been when they all had still lived on Earth, the graduating class was separated. The men on one side and the women on the other. They began filing out into the large covered stadium in pairs of two..one man and one woman. Kylar paid little attention to the woman that he was currently walking with. She'd said nothing to him so he'd not even looked at her. That is, until he just happened to glace to his side. When he saw her, he couldn't believe it. Shay. Out of all the women it was her. He felt as he should say something to her but refrained when suddenly he noted his father's glare. Why was he glaring towards them? Did it have to do with something that Kylar had done? Or..was it Shay..the fact that they were walking together?

Shay couldn't answer any of his questions and she was glad that he left her. She gave a polite smile and waved as he went back to her friends. Although her identity was a secret for now, she was a bit upset. Keeping up the facade so that Kylar thinks she is a spoiled rich kid like everyone else. But it was nice to be noticed by someone. Sometimes she thought that she was invisible. After finishing her soda and paying for it, she left the Raze. There was no reason to be there and she had a big day ahead. Graduation.

Her love for her father was indescribable and immeasurable, but she needed to get away. She was tired of being a Moluse and being frowned upon. Sick of the names and being ignored because of how she grew up. Graduating would mean getting a job at the station. Moving her family name up on the social ladder and become more famous than the family that runs the Station. Everything she dreamed of, starts tomorrow.

Simultaneously she was nervous. When she takes the stage for graduation, everyone will see her. She would be noticed by all the rich kids in the academy. People would have to noticed her and realize that someone below them is just as great. It would be a rude awakening for both them and her. And to make things worse, Mr. Ithalin will be there to watch it all.

Following Day

Shay slammed her hand down on the alarm clock, cutting off the intolerable noise. Graduation Day. The day that is giving her butterflies and making her head spin. The silence indicated that he father wasn't home meaning he wasn't going to be there. Without dwelling on the disappointing thought she got up and got ready. Checking the mirror, she corrected the flaws on her outfit before leaving the house.

When she got to school people were already there running around trying to perfect things that most likely didn't need to be perfected. The stage was set and people were being assigned their walk in partners. And of course she got, Kylar Ithalin. They were complete opposites and everyone was definitely going to noticed her now. Shay cold already feel the glares of some people as they linked arms. 'Don't look at him. Act as if you never met him' she told herself. It would make this go faster. Keeping her gaze straight ahead, but catching the glare of Mr. Ithalin. It was intense and intimidating. Of course, he knew who she was.

Her gaze shifted a bit to Kylar and she took in the outfit he was wearing. He looked amazing and he cleaned up very nicely for this event. Whether for his father or not. They got to the end of the walkway and took their seats. Of course they were seated by the people they walked with. So as people were being called up and giving speeches, she was trying not to stare at Kylar or speak to him. It would make things easier for the both of them and keep Mr. Ithalin happy.

As the ceremony got under way, Kylar was silent, watching as his classmates slowly began heading up to the large stage that had been set up. When they would reach it, they would begin giving their speeches. As they sat, watching those who were the most important speaking, Kylar couldn't help but wonder how his father would react when he realized that Kylar was not giving a speech. His teachers had asked him to give one, though after thinking about it..he'd decided that he had no desire to get up in front of everyone for once. Besides, he really saw no reason for him to give a speech.

Kylar could still feel his father's' gaze. He just could not figure out why the older man was so intent to watch them so closely. After what had seemed like forever, the Dean began to call up the graduates by name. One by one, they began slowly walking up to the stage. Once up there, they would shake hands with their teachers, the Dean, and the few other important members of society that were there. After that, each student would be handed their degree as well as a small envelope that was embossed in gold. Inside the envelope was written the result of their sorting, a test that everyone had to take four months before graduation.

At last, Kylar's name was called. He stood from his seat, though as he moved his eyes held Shay's. He smiled at her and then headed up to the stage. He knew that she would be behind him shortly. As he made his way to the stage, he suddenly felt his father's gaze leave him. It was all very strange. He went through the motions that everyone else did. He then left the stage and headed back into the large school where friends were gathering together to open their sorting envelopes. Kylar was the first of his friends to make it back into the school. He found a spot against the wall and leaned against it, waiting for his friends to find him.

As he waited, he watched as more and more people poured in. It was then that he decided to go and find Shay. He wanted to speak with her. He left the spot he'd been standing in and began walking through the school looking for her. After some time, he finally found her. He slowly approached her and came to stand near her. "Hey." he said, alerting her to his presence. "I had no idea that you went here. That's crazy that I've never seen you before." Kylar fell silent, allowing her to answer. Once she had, he continued. "So, have you opened your letter yet?" He paused, watching her closely. "I haven't yet. Want to open them together?" He waited for her answer and then smiled at her once again.

Slowly, Kylar opened his letter and read over it. He then looked up to Shay. "Well, looks that I'm going to be in the Technical Department at Ithalin Corp. Can't say that I'm not glad. What about you?" Kylar was actually very happy with where he'd been placed. In the Technical Department, you had to be smart to even get in. There, he would be able to work with the things that he loved. After a few moments, Kylar asked Shay something that had been on his mind. "Can I ask you something?" he asked, eyeing her closely. "Why would my father be staring you down during the ceremony?"

It took a long time, but she finally got her name called. As she walked up their and collected the letter she could feel the eyes of everyone. What was worse is that, Mr. Ithalin were the most intense. It was still shocking that she of all people graduated with the rich people. Now she was going to have a job that would get her out of this life that she was forced to have. The rest of the names were called and everyone split up for the grad party. She disappeared from the party and wandered about waiting for it to be over.

"Hey." she whipped around and saw Kylar. She looked around him to see that he was alone and she was the only one in this area. Clearly he was talking to her. "I had no idea that you went here. That's crazy that I've never seen you before." She gave an innocent smile. "Yeah. I tend to be invisible," she commented. "So, have you opened your letter yet?" she shook her head. "I haven't yet. Want to open them together?" she shrugged in response and opened her letter. Her eyes grew wide and filled with excitement and happiness. She looked at Kylar and he got into the Technical Department. You had to be very smart to be up there. "I'm in the Technical Station too," she said. She had always wanted to work there. But most likely she would be working the computers and what not.

"Can I ask you something?" she looked at him waiting for the question. Why would my father be staring you down during the ceremony?" Shay didn't know how to answer that or if she should answer that. He was the only person who has wanted to talk to her. When he finds out, he might leave her alone for good. Making her feel truly invisible. Don't lie. Moluses don't lie. she said to herself. She sighed and dropped her head.

"My dad is the engineer on the ship. So we are really poor and I am the only one in the station that got in because I passed the entrance exam with 100%" she said fiddling her fingers. "Also, I don't think he liked that I was walking in with you," she added. Shay looked at him and then looked behind her. "Maybe I should go. I'm not in the celebratory mood. Congrats on getting into the Technical department," she looked at him and gave a small smile before turning to walk away.

Kylar watched as Shay sighed and then dropped her head. "My dad is the engineer on the ship. So we are really poor and I am the only one in the station that got in because I passed the entrance exam with 100%. Also, I don't think he liked that I was walking in with you..Maybe I should go. I'm not in the celebratory mood. Congrats on getting into the Technical department," Kylar had been silent as Shay had spoken. He was surprised, to say the least. He'd not expected to hear that she was not of the same background as the rest of those at the Academy. He was..without words. He watched with blue eyes as the beautiful young woman turned to walk away from him.

He allowed her to walk from him though his eyes never left her form. He'd heard of her family before. There was, after all, only one engineer on the Station. His father had made sure that he knew their last name and that they were 'below' the Ithalins. However, after having met Shay..Kylar couldn't say that he totally agreed with his father's thinking. The young woman obviously had to have been smart to have gotten into the Academy without money. He was..impressed with her.

Suddenly, he was joined by his friends. All of the other men were smiling and opening their letters. Kylar watched silently, his thoughts still straying to Shay. He pushed her from his thoughts as his parents joined them. He could tell just from looking at his father that he was going to receive a lecture later about having walked with Shay. Kylar would never have guessed that she was a Moluse. Then again, it had been such a long time ago that he'd met them.

Late That Night

Kylar had finally arrived back at his house. He'd spent most of the night celebrating with friends and family. He collapsed on his bed and merely stared at the ceiling for a few long moments. Tomorrow, his life would be different than it had been up until then. He would be working, creating new things. He was excited but worried at the same time. He sighed heavily and then got up and quickly got ready for bed. He then made his way back to his bed and then crawled in. Closing his eyes, Kylar began to slightly worry about the next day. He had no idea the position that had been kept for him. What would happen?

He tried to relax, to allow himself peace so that he could sleep. How long he remained laying there, he did not know. All he knew was that his parents had already gone to bed and all was silent. He tried everything that he could think of to help him sleep but nothing seemed to help. At last, when he thought his eyes could feel no heavier, Kylar slowly fell into a deep sleep.

The Next Day::Ithalin Corp

Kylar's day had started off much as it normally did. Once ready, he and his father had left the house together and made their way to the family company. Once they'd arrived, they'd gone their separate ways. Kylar had been to the company building so many times that he no longer got lost. He was thankful for this. As he slowly made his way to the center of the building, he was greeted by everyone that he passed. That day, Kylar had dressed a bit more relaxed than he had the past few days. He'd really felt no need to show off that day. He entered into the large lab that housed the Technical Department. As soon as he entered, a small man approached him. The man introduced himself as Jacob, the second highest ranking person in the department. It was then that Kylar realized that his father had placed him at the head of the department. Kylar was actually rather surprised to hear this. He'd not expected it.

Jacob showed Kylar to his small office, located at the back of the lab. The door had his name in gold lettering written upon it. After the short tour, Kylar was left alone. For the first part of the day, he spent his time in his office, looking over everything that he could find. After around lunchtime, he exited into the lab. He made his way to one of the large tables, standing near the large table where several others of the department stood testing out a few new items. Kylar recalled Shay saying that she was in the Technical Department and yet he'd not seen her. He quickly excused himself and began walking about the entirety of the lab. He was determined to find her.

Shay got home and she quickly got settled into her room. The house was still empty. A sigh escaped her lips as she re read the letter that was in her hand. Technical Department. It was her dream job and on top of that she was doing the coding and programming for all the things being tested. It was amazing. There wasn't anything else she could ask for. Except for her father to come one. Dropping the letter on the table she walked into the small kitchen and made food for him. Then she sat in the living room waiting for his return. She wanted to be able to see his face when he found out her job placement.

As she was drifting off to sleep on the couch, her mind wandered to Kylar. He seemed in shock that she was poor and was smart enough to get in the school. Most people were. But he didn't say anything. His eyes weren't full of hate, but it wasn't a sign of friendship either. It was confusing and she didn't know how to react if she saw him tomorrow at work. Speaking of work, Mr. Ithalin was in charge of the placements. Maybe she would end up getting a minimum wage job because of who her dad was. Also as punishment for walking in with Kylar. Right before she closed her eyes, her father stumbled into the door. Shay jolted awake and looked at him.

Her father gave a tired smile and she went over to hug him. "Hey honey. How was graduation?" he asked putting his things down. "It was okay. I left early, but I got my dream job," she said excitement filling her tiresome voice. She grabbed the letter and handed it to him. He smiled and hugged her again. "That is amazing Shay. I'm proud of you," he said. She nodded and yawned. "Go to bed Shay. You have work in the morning," he teased. Shay nodded and gestured to the kitchen to let him know that there was food. Once she reached her room she fell asleep on the bed immediately.

Next Day: Ithalin Corp

Shay awoke to a silent house once again. Her father always left early in the morning. Once she was ready she left the house to attend the first day at her job. Her outfit was subtle and buisness appropriate. When she walked in the building she gave a look around in utter awe. It was huge and people were hustling about trying to get things done. Shay has only been to the basement level where her father worked so she already knew that she was going to get lost. Getting further inside and asking several people for directions she found the Technical Department.
Venturing inside the lab she looked around taking in the place that she would be working. Getting used to the people.

Slowly she made her way around until someone named Jacob came up to her and introduced himself. He directed her to her desk that had her name on it. It was within the lab but off to the side with the others. Shay was one of the few people that was coding the products being tested. It made her job even more wonderful. Jacob left her to get settled and she got back up to wander about again. She hadn't seen Kylar and she didn't think she would.

Around Lunch time Shay stood up to stretch her legs. She didn't know where the cafeteria was and she was going to have a hard time trying to find it by herself. She walked around the lab trying to find someone that wasn't busy and could take her to the cafeteria when she spotted Kylar. He looked great and seemed to be looking for something. She was debating whether or not she should go up to him especially after what happened last night. But without thinking about it she walked up behind him and tapped his shoulder. "Hey Kylar," she said with a smile. "I was wondering if you could show me where the cafeteria was," she stated embarrassed. Her gaze shifted to the ground as a blush threatened her cheeks.

As Kylar made his way through the large lab, he was suddenly tapped on the shoulder. He stopped moving and then turned around to find the very woman he'd been looking for. He listened to her closely as she spoke. "Hey Kylar. I was wondering if you could show me where the cafeteria was," When she fell silent, he smiled kindly at her. "Of course I can. This place is huge and if you don't know where you're going it's all too easy to get lost." Kylar knew that he really shouldn't be talking to Shay..hell, he shouldn't even be walking about with her. He slowly began leading the way out of the lab, walking slow enough so that they could walk side by side.

He was silent for a few long moments, debating with himself. If his father saw them together, he would never hear the end of it. However, she was in Kylar's department and he had to, at some point, socialize with her. Not that he minded being near her. Though he'd always been taught that her family was beneath his, Kylar had never truly understood this. He thought it was a silly way of thinking but there was no changing his parents' minds. He sighed softly, eyeing Shay from the corner of his eyes. Kylar wanted to say something to the young woman though found that the air around them had turned awkward..something he wasn't used to. He could only imagine what she thought he thought of her since finding out who exactly she was. "Look, Shay..about yesterday. I just wanted you to know that I think no less of you. You have to be wicked brilliant to get into the Technical Department. I can only imagine how hard you had to work to get here."

They, at last, reached the cafeteria. Kylar knew that he should go his separate way, leave the young woman. However, he didn't. He lead the way to the large buffet line and handed Shay a plate. As they slowly made their way down the line, he could feel eyes upon them. Kylar ignored them..after all he'd grown used to it after he'd come out. Over the past few years things had settled down but that had not made the stares go away. Once they'd gotten their food, Kylar led the way to a table and sat down. As they sat together, eating, Kylar eyed her once again. He couldn't help but wonder if she knew about his sexual preferences and if she did..did it matter to her. It was silly, he knew but for some reason he was worried about it.

"Shay, I'm glad to have met you. No matter how my father feels about you or your family. I may be his poster boy for the company but I like to think that I am not that much like him. We could use more diversity here, on the Station. Besides, I rather like you and see no reason why you should not be here." He smiled at Shay, trying to show her that he had meant what he'd said.

Shay started following Kylar to the cafeteria, but she was trying walk behind him. His slow pace was making it hard and she ended up walking next to him. The silence was a bit awkward, but it was okay. They weren't supposed to socialize. His family was about hers and her job could possibly be on the line. She did sneak a couple of glances at him as they walked. She didn't know what to say to him. Starting conversations was never her strong suit. "Look, Shay..about yesterday. I just wanted you to know that I think no less of you. You have to be wicked brilliant to get into the Technical Department. I can only imagine how hard you had to work to get here." Shay nodded. It was hard, but she wasn't going to complain.

The got into the cafeteria and she expected him to leave her, but he didn't. Not only did he walk through the buffet line with her. They were currently sitting at the same table eating together. People were staring at it was making everyone more awkward and uncomfortable. She was used to the stares, but these stares weren't because she was poor. It was because she was sitting across from the son of the richest man at the station. Everything was going to get complicated from here. Slowly she ate her food still thinking about what she could say to him, but he broke the ice.

"Shay, I'm glad to have met you. No matter how my father feels about you or your family. I may be his poster boy for the company but I like to think that I am not that much like him. We could use more diversity here, on the Station. Besides, I rather like you and see no reason why you should not be here." There was a blush threatening her cheeks and she looked back up at him. "Thank you. It's nice to hear that." she replied. That wasn't something that she was used too. Since he complimented her a decent conversation should be started up.

"Um. What is your position in the Technical Department?" she asked. Shay gave him her undivided attention and not removing her green eyes from him. It was rude not to look at a person when they are talking to you.

"Um. What is your position in the Technical Department?" Shay asked him, her eyes not leaving his. However, he hesitated for a moment before answering her with a sheepish smile. "My father seems to have placed me at the head of the Department. No doubt trying to get me more involved withe the company." He sighed softly before smiling at Shay once again. "I'm actually surprised that he didn't place me somewhere else..higher up. But..enough about that..what about you? What is your position? I'm afraid I've not had the time to really look at the files that I've got on everyone in the Department yet."

Kylar fell silent, allowing her to answer him. As he was quiet, his blue eyes remained on the beautiful woman. He knew that he should really leave her, go and sit with anyone else. There was no telling if or when his father would enter the large room and Kylar really didn't need him nagging him all ready. His mother, on the other hand, was not nearly as uptight as his father was. Perhaps she was the one that he got it from. Regardless, Kylar was glad that he was not like his father, even if it meant he was always getting into trouble. As he listened to Shay, Kylar went over in his head the things that he needed to get done when their lunch was over. He knew that he had a meeting with his father but besides that he really didn't have anything which meant that he would have plenty of time to begin working on his newest idea.

It had come to him only the night before, when he'd been drunk out of his mind. In all honesty, he was quite excited about getting to work on it. His good mood was suddenly cut short as his father walked into the room. Kylar simply ignored the older man as he knew that his father would not want to cause a scene with so many around.

"My father seems to have placed me at the head of the Department. No doubt trying to get me more involved withe the company." Shay gave a small smile. She was happy for his position, but she was sad about his father forcing him into the company. "I'm actually surprised that he didn't place me somewhere else..higher up. But..enough about that..what about you? What is your position? I'm afraid I've not had the time to really look at the files that I've got on everyone in the Department yet." She didn't know the official name for the position, but she could tell him what she did. "I do the coding for everything," she said.

She could see Kylar's eyes on hers and she couldn't understand why. They were so bright and mysterious. It's like they were searching for something. Her mind was wandering but it was hard to thing as he was staring at her. When she realized that she was staring back him and she blushed and looked down at her food. She ate a bit more and she looked back up when his father walked into the cafeteria. Kylar didn't seem to notice of care, but Shay did. He looked at them and she she looked away.

Her food was finished and she piled everything in the plate including the napkin so that she could throw it away. "Thanks for showing me the cafeteria Kylar," she said looking back at him. She should just get up and walk away, but she couldn't. She was glued to her seat and she was staring again. But it was more out of curiosity. Why was he sitting here still? Why did he even like her? Could he not feel his father's stare? It was intense and bothering her. But she didn't look back over at his father as she waited for a response.

As Shay fell silent once again, Kylar continued to eye her. He could easily tell that Shay had noticed his father. "It was no problem at all...ignore him." he said, smiling. He began piling his plate with the things he no longer needed, as Shay had done. "He won't say or do anything to you. I'm sure that I'll hear about it later. I've got a meeting in about a hour with him. Anyway, I need to get back to the lab. I've got a few things that I need to get together before I need to be Upstairs. Are you heading back to the lab now? I would be more than happy to lead you back."

He fell silent, waiting for her reply. As he sat there, he could still feel the stare of his father. Still, he ignored him. After she spoke, Kylar rose and picked up his tray. He lead the way to where the trashcans were located and tossed the items on the tray and then placed it in a large rack. He then waited for Shay to do the same. When, at last, she joined him, Kylar led the way out of the cafeteria and back to the lab. When they arrived back, Kylar excused himself from her and made his way back to his office.

Four Months Later::

It had been four months since Kylar had truly had his ass chewed out by his parents. Neither of them had taken kindly to finding out that he'd spent most of his first day of work with Shailah Moluse. After that day, Kylar was no longer the happy and cheerful person he'd been towards her. He had forced himself to treat her as his father did, though not to the extreme. He hated that his father had reacted as he had. He knew that he'd been sending her more work than she should of had and if he had to guess, he was doing other things to her. He couldn't stand it. It was all because of him. He knew better than to speak with her.

It had been only two weeks since his father had informed him of the newest addition to the Ithalin Space Ships. The Star. Named so after the legendary item. The ship would be heading out of the galaxy and to the very next one in search of new minerals or Alien life. Kylar was not really interested in such a thing. However, he'd been told that he was going as well as Shay, two pilots, two bodyguards, and a slew of members needed to take care of their needs. He was actually rather surprised that his father was allowing them to go together. He'd not expected it.

The night before he'd spent packing. When he'd gotten up that morning, Kylar had gotten dressed, eaten and then grabbed his few bags. They would be gone for at least two or three months. He'd made sure that he'd brought everything that he would need. As he'd been heading out the door, his father stopped him, pulling him to the side. "Kylar, stay away from that girl. She is trash." At this, Kylar frowned. "I have been. I also know you've been tormenting her and her father. You need to stop that. She is not at fault..I am."

His father seemed to think for a few long moments before he spoke again. "Very well. I'll leaver her and her family be..if you bring me back the Star of Secrets. Only then will her life return to how it had been." Kylar agreed though he had no idea how he was going to find the legendary crystal. With that, Kylar left the home and made his way to the port where The Star was docked. The ship had been built with everything that could ever be wanted on a ship. It even had separate sleeping quarters for those on board.

When he arrived at the ship, Kylar went ahead and boarded, making his way to his room. He entered and then began unpacking. This would be their home for some time so there was no need to keep everything packed. When he was finished, he exited his room and slowly made his way to the front of the ship. Once there, he stood with the captain as the older man told Kylar how long it would be before they would be in the next galaxy. As he stood there, Kylar found his thoughts straying to Shay. He could only imagine how angry she was with him. He'd been nothing but cruel to her. He almost dreaded seeing her.

Four Months Later

Four Months. It has been four months since she had spoken to Kylar. In that time, she has been dreading going to work. Mr. Ithalin has been piling work on her desk constantly to the point where she has nothing else to do. She has to show up earlier than anyone else and she stays later than anyone else. Too make things worse she is being under paid. The job that she currently has is top ranking and she should be paid a lot more. She has tried bringing it up to Kylar, but in those four months he has changed his demeanor toward her. He cruel and treated her in the way that he promised he wouldn't. And she knew why. She was hoping that it wasn't true.

But things were going to get better. She was chosen to go on The Star to look for lifeforms and minerals. It was an amazing opportunity that she was open to accepting. It was hard to say yes when she found out Kylar was going to go as well. Two or three months alone with the last person she wanted to see. It would be dreadful but this was a once in a life time opportunity. She had to go. Her father practically was forcing her to go. He even packed for her.

The day of the launch she double checked everything before getting dressed. So far her morning was awesome. Her father walked with her to the station and stood outside of the ship holding her bag. She hugged and kissed his cheek. "Bye dad." He smiled and handed her the bag. "Bye Shay. I love you." she nodded. "I love you too." With those words they went their separate ways. He went to work and she got on the ship. The ship was big and beautiful on the inside. One of the ship people showed her room and she went to unpack. Her room left her speechless. She has never had a room this big.

When she finished unpacking she decided to wander about the ship checking things out. Secretly she was hoping that she wouldn't see Kylar. Shay made her way to the front of the ship to see the captain. When she opened the door she saw Kylar was in there. "Oh. Um. I'll just umm..come back later," she said walking back out of the room. Way to look stupid she said to herself. She walked away from the room and wandered some more.

Suddenly, the door opened, causing the inhabitants of the cockpit to turn to see who had entered. Kylar's eyes landed on Shay. Of course it was Shay. As he looked at her, he tried his best to look as coldly towards her as possible. "Oh. Um. I'll just umm..come back later," she said, leaving the room as quickly as she'd entered. Kylar remained with the captain for a few more moments before excusing himself. They were getting ready to take off and everyone would need to find a seat and buckle in. Takeoffs were always rough. Kylar quickly made his way through the ship, towards the middle where the seats were and sat down, buckling in tightly. The Captain suddenly made a announcement, saying that they would be taking off in two minutes. Kylar dreaded it..always did. It was part of the reason he tried not to ever be drafted for these sorts of missions.

He still did not see Shay. He became slightly worried. She would need to join him before they took off or she would end up injuring herself. By the time she did arrive, the only chair available was right next to him. He tried not to look at her..though ended up failing. "I was beginning to think that you'd left." At last, it was announced that they were taking off and so Kylar fell silent. The ship began to shake slightly and this forced Kylar to immediately begin feeling sick. This was what he'd been afraid off. Almost every time he left the Station, he got sick. He hated it. As the shaking got worse, he leaned slightly towards Shay's seat, closed his eyes, and then leaned his head into his hand. That usually helped somewhat.

After five minutes of this, the shaking stopped and the ship was on her way. However, for Kylar, this did not help. Instead of unbuckling like everyone else, he simply remained in his seat..trying to fight off the feeling of being sick. It would be at least a good couple of minutes longer before he'd be able to move from his seat.

Someone told her that the ship was going to take off and she was directed to the area where they would be safe. Kylar was there already, buckled in. It took every bone in her body not to look at him. "I was beginning to think that you'd left." Shay shook her head and sat down in the seat next to him. She buckled in. For moment he was looking at her, but she didn't look at him. As the ship began to take off Kylar seemed to be uncomfortable. He started leaning next to Shay's seat and she didn't know what to do with herself. She looked down at him and could tell that he was air sick or whatever that was called. She honestly felt bad for him. Shay was used to flying since she often traveled down to earth to visit other family members.

Eventually the ship was steady and she was able to walk around. She undid the seat belt and stretched. Shay never liked sitting down in one spot. She saw that Kylar was still buckled in to his chair. He seemed determined not leave the chair. Despite how cruel he was to her she couldn't do the same to him. She left the area for a moment in search of a kitchen. When she found it she created a tea that she used whenever she felt sick. It was herbal tea with honey. Tasted great and made things better. It was something her father to her. A frown came across her face. She missed her father already. The tea finished and she went back to Kylar with the cup in her hand.

Hesitantly she walked up to Kylar and offered him the tea. "Umm. This should help," she said. She sat back in the chair that she came from and she place both hands in her lap when he took the cup from her. A moment of silence later she stood up and backed away from him. "Um. If you need anything I'll be around." she said before quickly disappearing. She was afraid to see him reject her. It was something that she would never get used to. Especially if she liked the person. And Shay did like Kylar.

For all Kylar knew, he was all alone, still sitting in the seat. He remained there for several long minutes, simply trying his best to fight down the sickness. Suddenly, Shay's voice brought him out of his thoughts. "Umm. This should help," He didn't look at her, not yet. He could hear her sitting back down next to him. Why was she back? At last, he slowly raised his head, looking at her. He was sure that he looked rather sick during that moment. He felt terrible. Kylar gently took the offered cup from Shay, looking into it trying to figure out what was in it. "Um. If you need anything I'll be around." Shay said quickly, getting up and then disappearing.

Kylar remained seated and then began slowly sipping the tea that Shay had brought for him. To his amazement, by the time he'd finished the drink, he was feeling a bit better. He was certain that he would be okay getting up and moving about. At least for a little bit. He unbuckled his seat and then slowly stood. He then made his way to the kitchen, putting the mug into the large sink. He was forced to pause for a moment, feeling a wave rush over his being. One of the cooks quickly asked if he was okay and Kylar merely nodded his head before leaving the room.

He made his way back up to the main level of the ship. He slowly walked down the hall that led to the bedrooms. Once he reached his, he paused at the door, looking at the one next to his that he knew was Shay's. He debated with himself for a long time before slowly walking over to the door and knocking. He knew that he needed to speak with her though he knew that she most likely hated him for how he'd treated her over the past few months. He couldn't blame her. As he waited for her to answer, he placed a hand on the door frame to support his wait. He was beginning to feel slightly sick once again as the ship rocked a bit. He hoped that she was in the room. How silly would he look just standing outside her door?

Shay quickly grew bored of walking around and she went back to her room. There was nothing to do in there except check out the view and read the books that she brought. Shutting the door behind her she moved to her bed and sat at the edge. Why had she treated Kylar so kindly? He was so mean to her and she still helped him so he wouldn't be so sick on the ship. That isn't what she would do for anyone else that was like that and rude to her. 'That's because he isn't just anybody' her thoughts echoed in her head. She laid back on her bed letting out a frustrated sigh. Everything was so confusing and she didn't know what to do. She needed to take her mind off of Kylar.

She grabbed her book and sat by the window. The stars were just as bright as Kylar's eyes. Wait what? she shook her head and started reading her book. "As he took her face in his hand , he muttered the words I love you" she chucked the book across the room. So much for straying her thoughts away from Kylar. She went through her things hoping to find something that would distract her, but she couldn't find anything. Her guitar was back at home. She didn't want it to break on the ship. Another frustrated sigh escaped her lips and she sat back down on her bed. Things weren't going well and she had only seen Kylar for two minutes.

A knock echoed in her room and she was afraid to open it up. What if it was Kylar? she pushed that thought to the back of her mind. Why would he come see her? There was no real reason to communicate until they got to their destination. But it could be the captain. Or one the other people on the ship. So many possibilities and she was afraid of one person. Slowly, she rose from her bed and shuffled toward the door. She took a deep breath as she reached for the handle. Don't be Kylar. Don't be Kylar. Don't be Kylar. she opened the door and she was in shock. Oh no. It was Kylar. She looked over him and saw he looked a bit sick, but she didn't say anything about it.

Her green eyes met his blue ones and they seemed a bit empty. She quickly looked down and she let go of the door handle to wrap her arms around herself. "Umm. Hey." she said simply. She didn't even know what to say to him anymore. This was going to be a very awkward conversation.

Suddenly, the door opened, revealing Shay. Her green eyes met his blue ones and Kylar could not seem to look away from her. "Umm. Hey." she said. He was silent for only a moment before speaking to her. "Hey." He fell silent once again. He really shouldn't be there..and yet he was compelled to see her. He did honestly feel terribly about how he'd been forced to treat her. He looked at her almost apologetically. "I..just wanted to thank you..for the tea. It did help." He fell silent, feeling the awkwardness that was lingering around them. Kylar wanted nothing more than to apologize to her though he doubted that she would even listen to him. However, there was something that he could apologize for that he was certain she would hear him out on.

After a few short moments, he spoke again. "Look, I wanted to apologize to you for everything my father has been putting you and your father through." he paused before continuing. "I'm trying to fix it." He fell quiet, watching her. He was unsure of how she would react to what he'd said..hell, she probably wouldn't even believe him. Suddenly, another wave of sickness rolled over him and he shut his eyes, trying to ignore the feeling. He was taking deeper breaths than he normally would. Slowly, the feeling disappeared and Kylar was able to open his eyes once again.

As he watched her, he knew that he cared for her more than he should. He wouldn't go out of his way for just anyone and nearly everyone on the Station knew that. It was a odd feeling for him. He wanted to do nothing more than to see her happy, to help her with her troubles. His father wasn't making that easy. In all honesty, he didn't know if the older Ithalin would honor his word if Kylar did find the crystal. If not, Kylar would stop at nothing to help the Moluses. They'd done nothing to deserve the treatment that they were currently receiving. He felt as if it was all his fault. He never should have allowed his father to see them together. It was all his fault.

"I..just wanted to thank you..for the tea. It did help." Shay looked up at him him and saw that his eyes were still locked on hers. She blushed a little. "It wasn't a problem. I know how that feels," she said. After a bit of silence thoughts were running through her mind. She was in a state of panic, but she was doing a great job of hiding it. The silence was getting to her, but before she could say something he spoke up. "Look, I wanted to apologize to you for everything my father has been putting you and your father through." Her eyes grew wide, but she let him continue. "I'm trying to fix it." She couldn't tell if he was telling the truth or not. Nothing was making sense at this point.

His eyes closed and he seemed to be more dependent on the door frame. When his eyes opened back up, her eyes were filled with concern. She opened the door wider. "Maybe you should come in," she suggested looking over him. Without hesitation she took his hand and pulled him inside. She sat him down on the bed so that he wouldn't have to stand up anymore. "I'll be back." she said leaving her room and heading back to the kitchen. She started to make more tea for him.

'What am I doing!' Shay gathered the cup and walked back to her room. 'Stop helping him' she handed him the cup and she sat on the floor not far from where his feet were. When he took the cup she placed her hands in her lap and just watched him. She has come to a point where she didn't want to see him suffer this ride despite how he has been treating her. She was not longer mad at him, despite all of the suffering she went through the past few months. "Uh. Thanks. For what you are doing for me and my dad," she muttered not breaking eye contact. It was hard not to stare. His eyes were a deep blue that she seemed to get lost in. 'I like him..'
