Personality
First glance, automatically, you wouldn't know what to say to him because by then he would bore into your eyes silently, almost as if he was piercing your soul with his intense gaze. Introductions aren't Antonio's cup-of-tea and he would rather the person come up to him and introduce themselves first. Only a few, that he would know personally, would have him come up to them first. Extremely practical, Antonio's world remains in reality, he never day dreaming in a fantasy world that's unattainable. To him, reality suited him better then some fairytale. He can be kind and thoughtful when he wants but he can be the total opposite, being cynical, cold-hearted and unforgiving, when he has been crossed and wronged.

Self -discipline is his middle name. Perfection is in his blood. Intelligence he regards highly. Being completely complex is his second nature. He is human as well, having a folly here and there. He can be aloof and detached from the world, not being much of a sentimental fool. He is overtly critical and can be too demanding at times. He hates ignorance and stupidity. Yet when he finds, in his vision, "the one", you can be reassured that the lady will be a very lucky one....that's if she can past his "tests" with flying colors. On a positive note, Antonio is extremely loyal, kind, considerate and helpful to special people in his life (Especially his little brother who is very near and dear to him).

Meaning you will never again feel unloved or uncared for, in your entire life. His love will burn for you with a steady flame, which will never flicker even for a minute. You will be rewarded with a friend, family member, lover, a future father and husband who is totally sincere, patient, dependable and forever loving. You will never have to worry about stability again, whether it is emotional or financial. Now how lucky the people in his life that are close to him!

BIO
"I was a policeman. I have dealt with policemen all my life and I know. I could pass as a detective better to an outsider but not to a man who was a policeman himself.", he quipped wittily. On the job, he was shrewd and never took shit from anyone. He was the commander and chief on busting crime rings and criminal activity. He was the best on the force and he knew it well. Antonio "Ant" Mario Nolan was destined to be a detective and city hero. Antonio was born in Miami, Florida to two middle class parents who worked hard for everything. Nolan's father was a chief of police and had to be out most of the time, especially at night, leaving his mother to take care of both him and his little brother. His mother, on the other hand, was a kindergarten teacher. His little brother, Leo, was born two years after him. Nolan would be very protective, over the years, of his little brother and would take any measure to keep him out of trouble even though it prove to be disastrous and unsuccessful.

When he was in grade school, he was a valedictorian, even when he went on to high school. Education meant the world to him and he would broaden his mind on a daily basis. In his higher grade years, he went off to boarding school; he studied and qualified in Agricultural Science at a prestigious college in Washington, DC. His parents were very proud of him and would reward him for his great efforts while his brother was highly jealous of him. Later in Nolan's history you will see how his little brother's jealousy of him plays an important role. When Antonio turned nineteen and was still away at college, his parents died in a car crash with a drunk driver, leaving him and his brother orphans. It was a massive blow to Antonio and Leo was massively affected by it never being the same again.

Antonio had to drop his studies, reluctantly, and had to move back in with his brother to take care of him much to Leo's disdain. Having no where to live anymore because they couldn't support themselves, Nolan and his baby brother packed their bags and moved to NYC, he trying to find a better life for them. He quickly followed his father's footsteps joining the police force at age twenty. It was hard at first to adjust to the late hours that he had to clock in on the job but he managed and soon was bumping up ranks. He did a damn good job at his work and had keen sense on knowing who was the real suspect. A lot of people on the job called his six sense "The third eye" because he knew how to wrap up an investigation with the suspect behind bars or executed.

Leo, on the other hand, went down hill when he was in New York city. He started mixing with the wrong people, much to Antonio's strict rule over him, and found himself with the Italian mafia who he thought could take care of his troubles. His attitude became more malicious and fowl and Antonio was forced to throw him out of the brownstones, where they live, because of his negative actions. Leo didn't like him anyway, and in fact hated his older brother with a passion, taking up sleep with a friend who was also in the Italian mafia. Antonio, although in a rock and hard place with his brother and slowly losing him, still was gaining attention and fame for being a good policeman and finally was bumped up to head detective on the force.

Now twenty four, the city had a new hero to look up to for protection and peace and Nolan was the right guy to take on the important task. Meanwhile, Leo continued to spiral out of control, he turning into a hardcore criminal who got away with it, he being almost on the "Most Wanted" list. It had seemed that they became enemies of one another, Nolan secretly not wanting to put his brother in jail because he had too much love for him. Talk about "brotherly love" that was one sided. He thought he had lost all his loved ones and had no one to turn to. On the one hand, he had it all with being a famous detective, but on the other hand, he lost his parents to a car accident and his brother to a life of hardcore crime. Nolan sunk into a depression and found different nightclubs to escape, the Stroke club, after being well liked so much that he got a special invitation, being the most frequent for him.

Saturday 5th January, 1932
In the club room, people were talking lowly to one another; drinks of cognac and gin flying in the air. The joint at the Stroke club was always live and it was the most frequent spot where people liked to go, leaving their troubles....and morals at the "lovely" door. The cigarette girl came around the tables asking if they wanted smokes, "Cigars, cigarettes?", she asked kindly to the Stroke patrons. On the other side of the club room, the bar stood with people seated lined up and down it, a couple at the bar whispering to each other.

It had seem that the fiery redheaded woman was disliking her date seeing that he wanted to have sex with her on their first outing.

"You know I would love for you to come back to my place.", the man whispered in her ear seductively.

"I don't bring gentlemen back to my place just to make whoopee...", the woman lowly told her date, the tone of her voice turning menacing.

The dark brunette mustached man raised an eyebrow and chuckled at her, "Come on, whatta ya say?", he persuaded her again.

"No asshole!", she shouted angrily at him, standing up from her plush red stool, throwing her martini drink in his face. She took her belongings and stormed out of the club room, leaving her date and the others at the bar flabbergasted.

"Bitch!", he shouted back with equal hatred.

At one of the tables in one of the far left corners of the room, a young platinum blonde woman watched the whole display, snickering to herself. She was thoroughly bored, watching the scene as a entertaining drama sequence that could be in a great movie with the beautiful sliver siren Greta Garbo and the dapper smart John Barrymore.... Not!... How sarcastic of her, making fun of the hilarity of the situation. She shook her head, continuing to drink her long island drink. It appeared the young lady was waiting for a friend to come and hang with her because she hated to be alone with no one to talk to. Oh! But we must not forget to introduce this lovely creature! The name was Harlean Harlow Carpenter but she hated the name, liking to be called Jean instead. She wore a nice simple yet elegant dress with matching shoes, purse, and jewel accessories that went along with the outfit.

To put it simply, Jean was dressed to the nines, she smirking to herself at the fact, taking another sip of her drink. Jean looked around seeing if she could see other familiar faces at the Stroke but could not find any yet. She shrugged her shoulders, knowing she didn't know any of them like that yet, and reached for her white clutch to empty some of its contents of makeup and a compact mirror. She picked out the mirror and looked at herself, trying to find a flaw that might appeared from not tending to "freshening herself up".

"Tony's ass better get here....", she thought, slightly annoyed while happily content with her makeup, setting the compact mirror down on the cream colored clothed marble table. She looked around the joint, one more time, suddenly spotting him out of the corner of her eye. He was known to silently walk into places, not much for making grand entrances. Jean guessed that it was his detective skills showing through again, she smirking and curling her finger in the "come hither" motion to him, "Ant man, over here!", she gleefully shouted to him.

Saturday 5th January, 1932
"I would've got away with it if it wasn't for you, fucking meddling detective!", the criminal harshly croaked as he was hand cuffed and reprimanded by two police officers on park avenue in front of a crosswalk. The criminal stole some highly valuable jewels at a high-end boutique called Tiffany's not too far from where he was caught.

"Shut it, bucko and take the heat. You deserve what's coming to ya.", one of the police officers scolded.

"It's the depression for christsakes! I need the fucking money!", the criminal whined loudly.

"You still don't have the right to steal even though the country's in a depression.", the platinum blonde detective calmly stated.

The detective nodded his head to the police officers, signaling to put the criminal in the patty-wagon. They did what they were told, slamming the doors shut of the van in the criminal's face. It was cold out that night and the young detective was getting tired of the same crimes he had to clean up. He smoothed his hair back frustratingly as the police van jetted down the street until it was out of peripheral vision, sirens annoyingly roaring all the while.

Same ole' crimes, same ole' shit that he was getting tired of. He didn't have new assignments that he really wanted to work on, maybe busting some more mafia rings or at least catching a murderer who he could execute by justly trial. He was getting restless at the stalemate he was in with his job. At times he wanted to quit but he had a duty to do and it was to keep the streets orderly safe, society functioning properly with peace. That was the main thing he loved about his job, helping ordinary people be safe out in the world; what great satisfaction that he loved and didn't want to lose for a long time.

Anyways, the young detective walked back to his Rolls Royce car, opening the door swiftly. He hopped inside, slamming the door shut. He longingly glanced at himself in the rear-view mirror; he looked tired, and to be honest, quite beat. But let's not forget his name: Antonio Mario Nolan was his, he going normally by nicknames of Ant and Tony. He wore a simple yet clean and pristine suit which was his work clothes, leaving his fedora off this time. Antonio was going to leave his job, since he was done, going home to get some sleep but he thought against it, he somewhat restless, needing to stay out.

Antonio thought about it for a while where to go and finally chose the club he was offered a special invitation to. Bingo! The Stroke club, of course! He remembered he promised his best friend he would be there too. Antonio revved up the engine of his speedster, quickly drifting down the street. The Stroke wasn't far and he was there in front of the entrance in a flash. A parking valet came up to the side of Antonio's car, opening it," Would you like me to park your car, Sir?", he asked. Antonio just nodded his head yes, getting out of the car and handing the keys to the valet. Antonio then walked up the steps and stopped in front of the entrance.

He wasn't going to walk in there looking disheveled from a hard day's work so he quickly walked inside and went to a nearby men's bathroom. He walked up to one of the mirrors, straightening out his suit and smoothing his hair down. After prepping himself, Antonio walked out, walking down the steps that led to two entrances: one said "The dance hall" and the other "The club room". Antonio chose the club room, opening the door and walking inside. The man who opened doors looked at Antonio confused, thinking why Antonio didn't wait for the door to be open for him. Antonio just ignored him, walking down the steps swiftly.

"Ant man, over here!", someone shouted to him, some people turning their gaze on him. Antonio turned to the source of the noise and found his best friend, Jean, giving him the "come hither" finger. Antonio shook his head and smiled at her, slightly annoyed that she blasted him on the spot. He made his way over to the corner table where she sat, taking a seat for himself, "Blast me on RKO radio, why don't you", he playfully scolded her for her actions.

Together

Jean rolled her eyes, "Oh come on... Stop being a stuffy shirt", she punching Antonio in the arm with equal child's play. Antonio shook his head, waving his hand slightly, motioning for a random male waiter to come over and order him a drink.

"You know this is my first time here", Antonio said.

"My second time here so that means you're not alone with not knowing faces here", Jean replied, lowly snickering.

The waiter finally came over to the table, "What might you want, Sir?". Antonio thought about it for a while and then asked for a dry apple martini. The waiter nodded and went on his way to get his drink for him, "So how was your day shooting up slime balls?", Jean asked, raising her hand and pretending it was a gun pointed at Antonio. Antonio sighed and shook his head, "Same ole' shit that I'm tired of, quite frankly.", he chuckling. Jean raised an arch eyebrow, "Your cussing, and you're not the type to fowl at the mouth like a sailor 24/7, so I know you're bored and you need new atmosphere", she stated, patting his shoulder with reassurance.

"You got it, Jeanie. I'm in need of new scenes. By the way, this joint is pretty live", he replied in agreement and then commented about the Stroke. Jean leaned into Antonio more and looked in his eyes, "You will have new prospects soon, I know so, and yes, this club has its moments but I've only been here twice so I haven't given it a rating yet."

"Let's put a rating on it together.", he staring back into her eyes, almost like he was boring into her soul. The waiter came back and set Antonio's drink down, "Here's your drink.... Enjoy.", he smiling cockily making Antonio raise an eyebrow at him. The waiter walked away leaving Antonio slightly weirded out and confused and Jean laughing with much gusto and boast, amused at Antonio naivety about the innuendo. He was a detective, for petesakes, so he should've known how to pick up on subtle hints but, as Jean guessed playfully, he had his "blonde" moments. "Ha!", Jean thought amusingly.

As the night wore on and became later into the midnight hours, Jean and Antonio laughed it up like old chums, playfully slapping each other on the arm and busting on each other like it was no tomorrow. To the naked foreign eye, they seem to act like elementary school kids who rough housed with one another. Jean was the type to be a tom-boy at times so she fit best acting like a little rude boy, "Jean, stop playing around! I think you had too many drinks.", Tony commented, moving the glass of chardonnay away from Jean.

Jean wagged her finger in Tony's face, feeling slightly woozy and light-headed, "I'm not drunk! Give me back my drink, Ant man!". She tried to grab it out of his hand but Tony moved it quickly away from her with Jean grabbing his arm, making them both accidentally spill the drink on the table. They both looked down, "It appears your drink is finally finished, Jeanie baby", Tony playfully teased, the both of them beginning to laugh all over again. This is what the two of them did on the weekend, make NYC, at night, their personal playground that they just couldn't resist not to pass up.

A new song softly filtered the club room with the beautiful melodious likes of Wayne King, he singing a scrumptious tune by the name, 'Dream a little Dream of me'. Jean and Antonio started to notice faces darting in their direction, "I think all eyes are on you baby...." Tony lowly whispered in Jean's ear while Jean raised a curious eyebrow. She smirked a little to herself at that, "Hey, I see one of my coworkers, Lily!", she silently pointed a finger, finally spotting the beautiful golden blond actress and highly skilled dancer.

They worked a couple of times together and, as Jean thought, were going to work on another new movie together that was quite soon; let's hope that MGM's engagement really pulls through for the both of them, Jean mentally crossing her fingers. Antonio turned his gaze to Lily as well, silently taking in her person. He secretly liked her work and would sneak into theaters just to see her on the silver screen. He had a "idol crush" on her in the sense that he liked her characters, they beautifully dancing across the screen in his personal delight.

While Antonio longingly gazed, if not pierce his crystal blue eyes, at Lily, a waiter boy came up to the table, setting a beautiful strawberry daiquiri on the table in front of Jean, "Ah, Miss, This is from the young lady over there.", he kindly smiled to her, motioning to a blonde who wore a slinky black dress that rode up her toned thigh, long slender legs crossing over the other casually. The blonde, who by the way looked like a super model, smiled and tilted her glass towards Jean. Jean looked to the beautiful lady, studying her thoroughly.

She was the beautiful Photoplay model, Toni! She was the most popular and highly revered model on the art deco scene. Jean secretly idolized her with a hint of jealousy sprinkled in, "I wish I could be like her.... I wonder why she noticed me?", Jean thought silently, tipping her drink to Toni, a small smile thrown in for good measure. Jean felt another set of eyes studying her. She slowly turned her lavender platinum swirled eyes to the staring source and found that the owner of the club, Gabe, staring her down. Jean knew that Gabe was siblings of Lily. Lily told Jean to watch out for him because he was known to be a player around the Stroke.

Jean raised an eyebrow as Gabe turned his attention back to the young "tender roni" who was talking on his arm, "Jean, I'm going over to talk to Miss Lily. I want her autograph", Antonio said to her, he getting up from his seat. Jean only nodded her head with a smirk on her face, "A crush, I see....", she playfully batting her eyelashes. Antonio rolled his eyes, "No, silly. I'm just a dedicated fan of hers. Will be back soon", he waving his hand to Jean, walking away with an unfinished apple martini in his hand.

He made his way through the throng of people who were dancing on the floor, keeping his eyes upon Lily who was still at the bar. Finally at the bar, a few ladies in the room staring and liking his swank and swagger, Antonio's tall muscular-toned frame silently came up behind Lily. He wasn't much of a ladies man and a womanizer but that didn't stop the ladies from fawning over him. He was the city hero detective, of course, who had his face on the front crime pages 24/7, either handcuffing or slamming bars on criminal's faces.

"A formal introduction could commence here but I rather have an autograph of you first", he lowly told her, taking out a notepad and pen from his open black suit coat. He slid the notepad and pen across in her direction, a small smile playing upon his full wet lips. He was determined to get a signature of hers before the night was through so he took another sip of his drink, not tearing away his downward gaze upon Lily's face.

Marietta Abbott

Marietta had been making her way steadily around the club, enjoying the music, the laughter and just the feel-good atmosphere that seemed to seep through The Stork Club. It was highly infectious and within moments she found herself laughing with the best of them, joining in chatter and simply hanging off the words of famous, beautiful people. Stopping briefly at the bar, she ordered a drink before resuming her wandering; now sipping delicately at her cool beverage. It was still all so marvellous to her. Daniel had said that the splendour and mystery of the Stork Club soon wore off, but with some many enticing and interesting people gathered in one place, Marietta simply could not see how it could be anything less than a wonder.

On occasion, she stopped and chatted to people that she knew, her soft twinkling laughter leaving her lips more and more often as she relaxed and began to enjoy herself. A few times however she had to skirt around a less than friendly face. Usually men she had flirted with and then refused to sleep with them. Marietta was not a harlot. In fact, she believed in waiting for exactly the right man with whom she would fall in love with. But it was undeniable that she was a tease. She treated flirting as a sport, which left some men a little hacked off. It hadn’t taken her long to realise that many of the men here were womanizers, Daniel being one of the main ones. It seemed that it was a requirement of the male members. Or perhaps it was a symptom of the Stork Club.

However it was incredibly easy to fit in once you gathered your bearings. All you needed was wealth or fame (or in most cases both) and you were accepted with open arms. It was as though you were a member of an incredibly large ostentatious family. Marietta had wealth and she was on the brink of fame. The reason for her invite, no doubt. But it did surprise her when a voice she did not recognise addressed her by name.

"Miss Marietta Abbott, am I right?"

Slowly the young woman turned and ended up face to face with a handsome man. He was wearing a dazzling smile that nearly caught her off guard. It was a smile that Marietta had seen upon many of the men’s face in this club. However it did not stop her from giving him her most beautiful smile in return.

“That would depend on who was asking.” She replied in her sweetest voice, sipping her drink in a rather coy manner. She did not miss the roving eyes that swept over her body. Barely suppressing her smirk, she turned away and scanned the crowd. Often she played it like she was completely uninterested, in order to hold a gentleman’s intrigue. She made it look as though she had somewhere else to be.

"Well, look at that, Miss Abbott. We match."

Again, she flicked her gaze towards him, eyes resting on the flower he indicated in his lapel that matched the ones entwined in her elegant ringlets. Glancing upwards, she caught the charming smile that was once again upon his face. Well he certainly was alluring. Or he knew how to make himself appear so. Marietta knew better than to trust a man who strode so confidently up to a woman he seldom knew.

“Indeed it seems we do Mr
Please forgive me, but I do not know your name? I do not believe we have met.” It was a polite response, but laced with interest and her English accent came through. Marietta had met many bold men in her time, but this one struck a chord with her curiosity.

Daniel Birchfield

"Good evening Mr Birchfield"

It surprised Daniel somewhat that Lily Beckett was aware of his name. He did not, however, let it show on his face. Instead he allowed an easy smile to spread across his face in response to her words. “It is curious how members of this club never cease to hold my wonder. I suppose my reputation speaks for itself. I have gained a name for myself and that is how she knows of me.” Daniel thought to himself, as he took another sip of his cognac. It did not upset him. In fact, he was quite pleased with his bad antics.

Feigning another glance around the club, his eyes sought out Gabe to ensure he was consumed with his latest woman. It would not do for the brother to come muscling in if he were to make a move. Indeed Gabe’s attention was held elsewhere, but it was not upon the red-headed woman he was sat with. Daniel followed his eyes to find that they rested upon Marietta, who was chatting with a gentleman he understood to be Jackie. Well, that was curious. Rubbing at the faint blonde stubble on his chin, he watched worriedly as Marietta turned her full attention upon the man. That was never a good sign. He couldn’t decide which was worse
Marietta talking to Jackie as though she were interested or the owner of the club taking a liking to her.

But instead of getting up and striding over there, Daniel kept himself firmly seated upon his bar stool, his eyes returning to Lily Beckett. Only to find that someone else had swept in whilst his mind had been elsewhere. The man was a handsome fellow and he appeared to be asking for Miss Beckett’s autograph. It was something Daniel himself would have done two years previously, had he not been such a ladies’ man and too proud to approach the woman in such a way. It was clear that this gentleman was new to the club. Slipping from his bar stool, he too approached Lily Beckett and climbed onto the stool beside her.

“I do not recognise your face,” Daniel said in a smooth, friendly tone as he watched Antonio’s face. He relaxed against the bar and gestured for the barman to come over. “Miss Beckett here is quite the celebrity, is she not? Here, let me get a round in. I’ll have a cognac. What’ll it be for you two?” He asked Lily and Antonio with a smile.

While Antonio sauntered away from Jean's table, Jean briefly watched him walk through the dancing people on the floor, finally making it to the bar where Lily sat. Jean just shook her head and snickered under her breath knowing that Antonio had his charms, sometimes he unknowingly flirting successfully with the ladies. He was good at playing tall, dark, and dangerous when was needed and he did a fabulous job with keeping ladies on their toes, keeping them guessing and guessing about him: mystique and mysterious are best that come to mind....

Jean then turned back to her strawberry daiquiri and took a generous amount down her throat, the dull throbbing headache steadily coming back so she tried to drink it away with more alcohol. Who in the world thought something as stupid as thinking that a person could use alcohol as painkillers to take away the pain?

.... Jean agreed and thought so, that's what....

Hell her life away from the Stroke was more then she could bear sometimes on a daily basis. Juggling her demanding job and dealing with her miserable family was enough for Jean to tear out her hair sometimes. The only places she could think of to get away from it all were nightclubs and bars that she hopped and returned to frequently.

Jean, head hanging for a second, sighed heavily at that, her depression and life rearing it's ugly head slowly returning to the surface. Jean then rose her platinum blonde head, curious to see the Photoplay model, Toni, who paid graciously for her drink, wanting to watch her secretly. She wasn't there anymore... How odd. Jean could have sworn that she was at the bar tipping her glass to her but Jean turned her head somewhere else, giving the blonde enough time to get up from her stool and disappear in the throng of people. The joint was big enough as it is and it was hard trying to spot people as they came and went.

"I hope you do not mind me saying miz, but... you look ah... merveilleux. How do you say. Marvelous!", a smooth french accent commented about Jean. Jean instantly snapped her head to see that Toni was sitting opposite next to her at the table. Toni sure was full of surprises already and Jean didn't say anything yet! Toni was even more beautiful and charming up close, her tall modelesque frame lounging in her seat coolly, she observing Jean with bedroom brown eyes calmly. Damn it! Why was she so wonderfully swell, wonderfully scrumptious, wonderfully....Ugh!

Jean gained some of her bearings and finally answered her pretty idol in front of her, "Thank you so much for the compliment but I think you top me! I mean your face graces Photoplay constantly...", she complimenting in the same gesture. "I'm sorry for the alcoholic spill on the table, I'll get a waiter to clean it up", Jean apologized, giggling, for the mess on the table, she motioning for a waiter quickly. A male waiter came up to them immediately, a charming smile wide on his face, "What might you beautiful ladies need?", he asked.

"Could you clean up the spill please?", Jean replied, putting on her best feminine allured charm. The waiter simply nodded his head, he swiftly pulling the table clothe without spilling anything on Jean and Toni. "How did he do that?!?!", Jean thought, somewhat amazed as the waiter folded the clothe and then went to wiping the table down. After he was done, with a fresh clothe on the table, the waiter nodded his head and went on his way, leaving Toni and Jean alone again.

"As you wish", Lily's voice smoothly replied in agreement to Antonio's humble request as he took a stool for himself next to her, she writing her handwritten signature down. Even though his crystal blue eyes lighted up like a little school boy who just got a toy train for Christmas, Antonio kept his composure, his face solemn and neutral. He was too chill, too relax, too calm, too collect to show any real emotion, not betraying his cool facial features. Lily brought a slim cigarette to her red painted lips, taking quite a long drag, her eyes continuing to study Antonio's person, she sliding the notepad and pen back in his direction.

Antonio continually gazed into her eyes while taking the notepad and pen back, his long slender fingers brushing lightly and gently across Lily's soft smaller hand, all the while not tearing his eyes from hers. "And now you have me at a disadvantage, for you know my name but I do not know yours.", she told him making Antonio smirk amusingly while he stored his notepad and pen safely back in his blazer pocket, "Thank you, Miss Beckett....", he softly whispered near her ear.

"I do not recognize your face", another gentleman curiously added causing Antonio to snap out of his silent gaze at Lily. Antonio took a good look at the man who finally took a stool next to Lily and knew off the bat that it was none other then the successful Mr. Daniel Birchfield. He was a highly revered English businessman around NYC for the past couple of months, Antonio seeing his face in the newspapers constantly. He was a dapper and charming fellow but Antonio knew he was a ladies man around the women, Antonio getting a kick out of hearing different love affair stories of Daniel with different women, they being like soap operas that entertained him to no end.

"I do.... Have you been in the papers recently Sir? Your face seems oddly familiar.", Lily chimed in trying to figure out who Antonio was too. It had seem that both Lily and Daniel wanted to know where Antonio came from and what he was about. Antonio thought a little about it, "I do get around a little and I do normally go by Nolan but you can call me Tony", he simply stated with a devilish grin, leaving the both of them to figure it out on their own. It was like a masquerade without masks to Antonio in the sense he wanted to leave people guessing on who he really was. Antonio was used to being mysterious around people with a low profile off the criminal justice scene, he taking personal amusement out of it.

"Miss Beckett here is quite the celebrity, is she not?", Daniel commented about Lily causing Antonio to bring his gaze back to Lily. Hell yes she was! She graced her beautiful presence on the silver screen all the time and delighted the audiences, continuously. "Hmm why thank you for that modest introduction Mr. Birchfield
", Lily replied delighted, Antonio just shaking his head slightly, only softly chuckling in response.

"Here, let me get a round in. I’ll have a cognac. What’ll it be for you two?", he said politely to the barman and then asked Lily and Antonio in offer to buy them both a drink.

"....And since you’re buying I shall have a vodka tonic.", Lily ordered with a hint of coy feminine charm, Antonio moving slightly closer to Lily without her knowing, a small smile playing upon his lips again.

"....And I, a simple bourbon on white rocks", Antonio ordered, accepting Daniel's offer as well; Antonio minds well just take it because he was in need of another stiff since he drunk up his last apple martini glass pleasingly. Antonio could see out the corner of his eye that a very beautiful blonde lady quickly sat opposite Jean at her corner table. "Already cornered Jean?", he mentally thought, laughing loudly in his head. Jean was a big girl and she knew how to take care of herself so Antonio wasn't too nervous and overprotective of Jean especially in that moment of time.

Daniel Birchfield

“I do...Have you been in the papers recently sir? Your face seems oddly familiar.”

"I do get around a little and I do normally go by Nolan but you can call me Tony"

Daniel gave a slight frown, watching Tony very carefully for a moment. Nolan was a name that he had heard before, but he couldn't place where. He was a man who knew almost everyone in this club, but it was clear to him that Tony was new. Perhaps this was his first time at The Stork. In that case, he made a mental note to find out more about the mysterious newcomer. A quick glance across the room also noted who had been sat with. Jean Harlow. Maybe he was some connection of hers. Still, he would find out eventually.

"Hmm why thank you for that modest introduction Mr. Birchfield
" Daniel snapped out of his trance and smiled at Lily, showing a flash of pearly white teeth. He knew how to work in a compliment at almost any time and it had worked like a charm. He did not fool himself into thinking Lily would be won over with such trivialities, but it was worth a shot right? Perhaps she would surprise him and be just like every other woman (with the exception of Marietta, oh and Jean Harlow who he had once tried to hit on), falling for his charm and his kindness. But he highly doubted that. Lily was smart. Obviously men hit on her all the time.

"....And since you’re buying I shall have a vodka tonic." Daniel inclined his head at her words and glanced at the barman, but he needed no encouragement to fetch the ladies' drink and then Tony's when he ordered. He knew it would be placed on his tab, so he turned away and lent against the bar, watching the other two for a few moments. It was still a mystery to him who this man was and he doubted that he would place the face until he had done a little digging.

Clearing his throat, he replaced his smile quickly and took a sip of his cognac. "You are simply killing me with all this mystery Tony," He said lightly, arching an eyebrow slightly. In the corner of his eye, he noticed the red-head Gabe Beckett had been chatting to storming away from his table. Quickly, his eyes flickered to Marietta who was still talking with Jackie and looking like she wanted to dance. Daniel let her be. She would soon realise Jackie's game, but he would keep an eye on her.

"Tell me Lily, how is your brother these days?" A quick change in topic by Daniel, who focused his attention on their conversation. With a easy smile, he showed he had no other intentions other than simply asking after the gentleman.

Lily Beckett

Lily watched with an amused grin as the men had a testosterone match between themselves, what was it with men and having to assert their dominance around a pretty face, rolling her eyes she turned back to reach for the new drink Joe placed in front of her on a folded napkin; no doubt they’d be on to who has the biggest cock next, smirking to herself at the scandalous thought which had popped into her head, she brought the drink to her lips and turned back to Daniel and Antonio. If she was honest, she quite liked holding the attention of two men, being the passionate woman that she was Lily was a huge flirt and relished in the attention of men, it made her feel wanted, although she was a confident gal she was not short of her share of heartache. In every girls life there is that one guy, that one guy who ruins them for others and Lily was not exempt to that. Shaking her head she refused to think about that now, after all ‘The Stork Club’ was the last place you should be miserable in.

"I do get around a little and I do normally go by Nolan but you can call me Tony" Lily smiled at her new friend, now Nolan was a name she had definitely heard before, it was often grumbled by her brother when he spoke about business but still she couldn’t put her finger on where she had seen him before “Well, it’s a pleasure to meet you Tony.” She shook his hand. The men conversed a little and Lily could have sworn Tony took a step closer to her, already staking his claim, she thought to herself, hiding her smirk behind her glass, not that she minded much, he was a handsome fellow.

Seeing his eyes dart across the room briefly, Lily followed his line of sight, smiling as her blue orbs landed on Jean Harlow giving her a small wave, making a mental note to speak with her after, at the moment she seemed a little preoccupied with Toni the infamous model, known allusively for her romances with the same sex. Yes, she would talk to her later, she was enjoying her handsome man sandwich too much at the moment. "Tell me Lily, how is your brother these days?" Lily’s head snapped towards Daniels “Hm? Oh
well Gabe is Gabe, he spends his days drinking, fucking and making business deals, in between making movies, so I fathom he is fine” she smiled at the handsome gentleman from England.

"Ah, yes, Photoplay, they... they are ah... trĂšs bon. Ver' good to moi.", Toni replied, her smile wider then ever. Jean smiled too and took another sip of her strawberry daiquiri. She was surprised to see that she was almost finished her drink, "Shoot... My drink is already finished and I enjoyed it too well", she setting her empty glass down on the table. Jean could see some people staring in their direction, "I think all eyes are on you now, Miss", Jean giggled.

Jean was caught off guard a little when Toni tilted her head to the side, her blond hair falling around her slender shoulders with a small grin on her face, "You know, you should not allow moito upstage vous! You are... trĂšs belle. Ah... you say... very beautiful, demoiselle. Surely vous are... are model? Actress? Ah, forgive moi! I have gone and begun to ask personnel questi-ons, and I have not even introduced myself! My name is Toni... and miss, you are...?", Toni's beautiful voice commented and then asked, her french accent making her seem more exotic to Jean. "Nice to meet you Miss Toni. I'm Jean!", Jean simply replied.

But Jean shook her head and flagged her hand, "First of all, I'm too short to model and second, my face isn't so photogenic as yours. Your too kind for words! What part of France have you originally came from?", she stated and commented, throwing in a curious question. Jean had an inkling in the back of her mind that Toni was flirting with her but she didn't know if it was true or not, she thinking her alcoholic induced mind was playing tricks on her. She didn't mind Toni's preference for the same sex and really was awed struck to see a woman liberated from depending on a man.

But why did Toni choose to spot and flirt with her? Jean wanted to know so she began to dig a little deeper about where Toni was coming from with laying on the "thickness" with her. "I know a lot of men can't stop falling around your feet. You can even wrap them around your finger. I wish I had that type of magic hold on men!", Jean said with a smirk. Jean looked in the corner of her eye at Daniel, wondering what he was saying to Lily and Antonio.

He tried to push up on her one time but she turned him down knowing he was a player around the ladies. She didn't want to be another "notch" in his bed, broken-hearted in the process so she stayed clear from him, trying to avoid him as best as possible just like she did with other men who had the same nature. But she still couldn't help but admire him from afar, she secretly wanting to get to know him better. He sure seemed interesting...

"You are simply killing me with all this mystery Tony,", Daniel replied, he really curious to know what Antonio was all about, eyebrows raising in the process. Antonio took a sip of his new bourbon on white rocks drink, "I'll give you two a hint then.... I'm always in the papers in the section with high crime stories....", he said with a complex hint thrown in for good measure. He was highly amused that Daniel wanted to find out more about his person, he seeming kind of frustrated in the process.

"Well, it’s a pleasure to meet you Tony.", Lily said shaking Antonio's hand. Antonio smiled at that letting his hand linger in her hand for a bit before she moved her hand away. Was he flirting with her or what? Antonio was never aware that he flirted or even thought he was flirting. All he thought that he was being was extra nice to people especially with the ladies. Antonio wanted to make the ladies feel special in his presence, he being the utmost gentleman. Antonio slowly took another sip of his rich dark bourbon noticing out the corner of his eye Lily secretly watching him watch Jean.

He chuckled lightly at that. Lily sure had an observant eye around the joint and she never seem to miss too much even when he dropped subtle "courteous hints" towards her way. She kind of reminded him of himself, he being the same way. "Tell me Lily, how is your brother these days?", Daniel asked curiously causing Lily to jerk surprisingly at his question. Antonio rose an eyebrow at that, he starting to want to know as well. Gabe sure had secrets about him that Antonio wanted to find out, his curiosity getting the better of him.

That's just like Antonio, he wanting to snoop into other people's affairs, the detective side showing through again. Antonio remained silent as Lily answered Daniel, "Hm? Oh
well Gabe is Gabe, he spends his days drinking, fucking and making business deals, in between making movies, so I fathom he is fine", she finished, Antonio trying to stifle a roaring laugh. She was very bold to say that about her brother, she seeming to not really care how much information she would display about him either.

"Siblings.... together, they are sure funny", Antonio thought, shaking his head with a smirk on his face.

Daniel Birchfield

"I'll give you two a hint then.... I'm always in the papers in the section with high crime stories...."

It hit Daniel then who this man was. He cursed himself mentally for not realising it sooner. It was fairly obvious, after all. This was a face that was plastered across the papers as often as his own of late and had a reputation that no others could live up to. Antonio Nolan, New York's hero and detective. This was a man who had put many behind bars and stopped a multitude of various crimes recently. Of course, Daniel himself had nothing to fear from this gentleman. His business was as clean as it could be and besides his womanising he did not participate in anything that might be questionable, but he didn't doubt that some members of the Stork Club were guilty of crimes they'd rather keep quiet. Was that the reason for his invitation to the Stork Club? To rat out criminals. Daniel couldn't help his eyes darting Marietta and Jackie who seemed to be dancing merrily on the dance floor. Chewing his bottom lip, he gave no inclination to his realising, preferring to keep the information to himself. Instead, his eyes swiveled back to Lily as she spoke.

"Hm? Oh
well Gabe is Gabe, he spends his days drinking, fucking and making business deals, in between making movies, so I fathom he is fine."

"As long as that fucking doesn't include Marietta then I wish him the best." He said it in the lightest voice possible, but he had not neglected to notice the attention that she received from Lily's brother and a slight edge crept into his voice. Clearing his throat, he shook it off quickly and downed the rest of his drink. Raising his hand for another, he cast a glance around, only to meet Jean Harlow's eyes across the room, boring into him. A slight frown passed his features before he smiled and raised his new glass in a greeting.

"If you would excuse me, Tony...Lily," He took her hand in both of his and pressed his lips to it. Glancing up, he tossed her a wink before scooping up his drink and making his way over to Jean and Toni's table. Daniel was known for his womanising. He could switch women five or six times in a night. "Do you mind if I join you fair ladies?" He asked in a velvet voice, his eyes focused on Jean Harlow intensely.
