Mayu is an alchemist of water, in all aspects she can control it. Whether its manipulating it to encapsulate someone in a ball of water, changing the temperature and creating ice or steam she has learned to do it all over the years. The problem with this type of alchemy she needs access to water. She tries to keep some sort of water in a container on her person at all times. She also carries a special device with a cooling and heating unit in it that becomes a ice sword, she can also use it to make ice projectiles; or switching it to heat and turning the water into steam and scalding water. Her transmutation circle is tattooed onto the back of her hand a common spot for alchemists. She also caries a gun just in case she gets into a situation where she does not have access to water.
Personality:
Mayu has always been the quiet type of person that keeps to herself as a child this worried her parents thinking their daughter was antisocial. But it was later determined that because of her ability to manipulate water other children were often times scared of her so she stayed away from them. Mayu has always been happiest by herself reading quietly or watching animals outside. She has a love for all kinds of animals but animals don't always like her so much.
Despite her quiet nature Mayu likes to have friends, most of her friends have been around her long enough to get around her quiet shell and actually get to know the kind, and loving person she is. When it comes to romance however the only experience she actually has it what she has read int the pages of some of her favorite romance novels. She has always thought of herself as a romantic at heart but, she has never been able to get past her shy nature enough to open up to the opposite sex.

Bio:
Mayu always had an affinity for water, even as a young child her parents would always have to pull her from puddles on the ground or making a mess int the bathroom sink. However it wasn't determined by her parents that she could manipulate water, the first person to see Mayu manipulate water it was her friend at the time. The young boy that lived next door came running from the backyard crying to Mayu's mother about how she had taken the fish out of the pond. When her mother made it to the back yard she found Mayu holding a ball of water with a Kou fish swimming around in it, a large grin on her face. She was proud that she had caught the fish without hurting it. Her mother was astonished and slightly horrified that her daughter could do this. At first her parents tried to keep it quiet and under wraps but word got around about the Himura's daughter and her strange abilities. At their wits end they turned everything over to the State Alchemists, including their twelve year old daughter.
From then on Mayu was in the system, taught to hone her abilities, and how to use a transmutation circle. She excelled at her element and was many times the top of her class. So when she was old enough it was a no surprise that she tried for the State Alchemist exams, and also no surprise that she passed. She quickly showed her worth as a State Alchemist and went up the ranks quickly, making her now a Major at the age of 20.
Other: Mayu loves animals and hates to see any in pain or trouble, it has been said that she gets along better with the animals then she does people.
Relationships:
Mayu has had little to no contact with her parents since they turned her over to the State Alchemists, she feels quite abandoned by them. Romantically Mayu hasn't had the opportunity to have a relationship of that magnitude. Granted she has seen men in the her field that she had been attracted to but she hasn't had the courage to ask them out.
Character Thoughts On Others: Mayu has a great respect for her fellow State Alchemists and treats them as such. But she feels she should receive the same respect back from them. She tends to shy away from people that are disrespectful.
