Physical Description
Hanako is by all counts a rather average looking young woman. Unassuming and average in height and build and possessing a rather typical looking head of straight, black hair. Hanako would be someone to easily disappear into a crowd if it weren't for one more obvious factor; her wheelchair. Her build is lithe and light in appearance which gives the accurate portrayal of a girl who lacks much physical strength. This fact combined with her kind and friendly looking disposition give the dark-haired girl a rather unintimidating and approachable presence. Along similar lines to her average appearance, her wardrobe follows a similar style. Rarely seen in anything but her school uniform her range of outfits is quite small and generally conservative in style. You'll find few bright colors or loud patterns in her dressers nor any pieces of clothing that go anywhere near anything that could be considered even slightly risqué.

Abilties | Powers
Aegis || Hana's primary specialization of magic is the creation of solid walls of force. These creations can range in size from as small as the size of your palm to the size of a whole room. They are seemingly unaffected by gravity and nigh unmovable. The strength of these walls varies, the more mana put into them the more resilient they become, additionally the stronger the walls are made the more opaque and dark they become, blocking vision. Aside from the obvious defensive uses of such a power it can also be used to trap other individuals.
Minor Creation || Hanako also has the ability to conjure and create small, non-complex objects. This ability is for the most part useless as anything she can create is about as fragile as glass and cannot be made with very much fine detail nor intricacies.

History
Born into a family with a reputation for magery, the children of the Minami household were raised with high expectations and strict upbringings. Her family was obviously quite disappointed when Hanako was born without the use of her legs, this disability however wouldn't end up keeping her from studying magic. Among her four siblings she was the youngest so despite her best efforts she always felt she was behind her older siblings, it was a gap of experience and knowledge she would never be able to breach despite her efforts. This fact coupled with her unmoving legs lead the girl to feel quite insignificant in her family, despite this however she continued to give her all in her efforts towards becoming a more capable mage.

Things changed however when Hanako's ability to control demons began to manifest. This was a talent none of her siblings shared and was one that many mages desired. Frustrated, her parents sent her off to the Survival Kit Academy so that she could properly train this ability. This was something that Hanako was all too glad to agree to. She was exited to leave her home, excited at the prospect of a blank slate and at the prospect of meeting new people. Uncertain of what awaits her, Hanako eagerly awaits the coming days and the new life that will unfold before her in this new place.

After all of the students have finished with their fights, Ms. Sarah gathered them and let them go for lunch. Though Midora don't looked like it, he must admitted that he was quite impressed by how the Demons worked together. Although, of course, there are still some flaws, but they can work on it later. When all the students have departed into different directions, Ms. Sarah turned to Midora and asked him about their upcoming mission.

"Well, let's discuss about this at another suitable place, shall we?" Midora said then turned to Mikari, "Mii?" Mikari nodded and both of them flipped as four of them vanished into two vortexes. The Dark Mages transported themselves and the other two Demon Teachers back to the Teacher's Office. After only a few minutes, they got there. "Please have a seat." Midora said as he sat down at the chair in the middle.

"Okay, let us begin." The Headmaster said as he took out a long roll of paper and rolled it from where he sat to the edge of the table. After that, images and symbols began to appeared on the paper and drawn a map. When it has finished drawing, Mikari took out some small stones from his robe and infused them with Dark Matter. Then, the stones flew from his hand and floated on the map, marked five different locations with different lights, "This is the map of the whole town. The stone that have the purple light here is where our Academy located."

Midora then clasped both his hands together, placed his elbows onto the table and rested his chin on them, "The Upper Department said that they've been receiving reports from both Mages and Demons resided in town. There were some cases when some people were being attacked on the streets at some alleys right in the morning and some of the houses were damaged or even destroyed without them even being notice. It has happened for a few weeks already and a lot of people were injured, some were hurt so bad that they didn't make it and passed away. Which is why they wanted us to look into this case and solve it."

Mikari then continued, "We believed that these incidents might be caused by a group consists of about 5 rogue Mages who wanted to terrorize the town. These locations are the most recent places that were reported to have houses or people being attacked." He said as he pointed at the other four locations around the Academy, "Because it seemed that the rogue Mages only acted during mornings or afternoon when there are still daylights, we will go and look into these locations tonight. Each of us will go to a location within this map to see how bad the damages that were caused by the rogue Mages are and to check the remnants of magic that are still lingering in those places. From then, we'll estimate how powerful those Mages can be. If their classes are ranging only from D+ to A-, we'll send a group of students to go, find their hideout and deal with them. This will be considered as their practical exercises. I will send a shadow to follow and supervise on how they dealt with them. But if those Mages' classes ranged from A+ to above, the four of us will deal with this problem on our own."

Midora closed his eyes and think of something a bit then looked up to his colleagues, "Because you're all new, I guess that you might wondering why we were tasked to deal with these problems. From the outside, people only see that this Academy is just like any normal Academies for Mages and Demons. But our true intentions were more than that. Our jobs are not only to train and educate Mages and Demons, but we also acted like what they called 'police officers'. We received orders from the Upper Department about problems that happened around this town and it is our duty to solve them. The students will also contribute into cases like this too and it is a good opportunity for them to have more practical lessons." He said and then stood up, "Well, please continue with what you intended to do for the rest of the afternoon and the evening today. We'll leave at 10:45 PM. If anyone has any other questions, you can find me at my office."

With that said, Midora gave them a bow and left the Office. Mikari just shrugged as he took the stones back and rolled the paper then placed it into a drawer. "There's a new Demon Student that has just been transferred into my group. I will go and check on him. You know where to find me should you need my presence." Mikari said with a smile and departed from the Office too.

Instead of going to the Headmaster's Office, Midora departed into a different location. He has made sure that nobody would followed him. Midora went into a secret chamber that was safely hidden within the barrier around school. As he entered, he clapped his hands as torches on the wall lit up. It was actually a library with many bookcases around the wall, where Midora kept all of his and Mikari's secret researching and documents. At the center of the room, there was a stone bed in the middle of an infinity symbol.

He let out a quiet sigh, after every times he engaged in battle since then, he always has to do this. Sometimes he felt quite distress about this, but he has to do it. Midora then walked towards the bed and lay on it then closed his eyes and chanted an incantation, the symbol lit up as dark lights poured out and absorbed into his forehead. When it happened, he widened both of his eyes and his body was trembled in pain. After a while, he became unconscious.

A few moments later, Midora opened his eyes and looked around as he was lying in the middle of darkness. He then stood up, brushing off the dust on his robe. Right after that, the whole area lit up and the darkness turned into a white, blank space then continued to turned to a big, green field. The wind was blowing gently and the sun was shining brightly. A road then appeared from where he was standing and he began to made his way towards an unknown destination.

After a while, he reached a small house, he then opened the door and walked in. What insides was completely different. It was a hallway leaded right into the deeper darkness. It was so dull and quiet that anyone could felt terrified. Midora continued to walk, until he reached his final destination.

There was a young man with brown hair. He was unconscious, but more like as if he was sleeping. But he didn't sleep in a normal position. He was being crucifixed on a cross made from Dark Matter as both of his arms and the part down from his waist was buried deep into the cross.

"It's been a while though." Midora spoke up, he's well-awared that the man didn't hear him so it's kinda like he was speaking to himself, "You're still so pathetic. And yet, you called yourself the most powerful Mage of all time?"

He then walked closer to the cross, but their distance is still quite far. "I see that you never seemed to miss any opportunities to break free. I've just entered my semi-berserk state and I can felt you stirring already." Midora said coldly with a blank expression, but he didn't realize that his fists had clenched unconsciously. He could felt the anger, the hatred are building up inside him like everytime he met the man.

"If it wasn't for you, I wouldn't have stained my hands like this. If you didn't exist, then HE would have never DIED!" Midora yelled as black aura appeared around him. It was so intense. Midora was really serious. As his eyes turned red, he launched a devastating beam towards the cross. Normally, Midora can destroyed a whole building with that single blast alone. But somehow, before the beam could reach the man, a strong barrier appeared around him and deflected the beam.

Realizing that he was losing himself, Midora held back and tried to calm himself. When he returned to his normal state, he looked up to the crucifixed man, still with his usual blank expression. "It was smart of you to set up a passive barrier to stop me. But you know what? No matter how powerful you can be, as long as the Zeal Seal is still intact, and until the day that I die, I swear that I will carry you into my grave with me. Keep struggling as much as you want. In here, at my conscious shall be the prison locking you and your curse for the rest of eternity."

With that said, he draw a rune into the air and strengthen the Seal on the cross then turned his back and walked away.

Midora slowly opened his eyes and sat on the stone bed. He let out a quiet sigh. It was never an easy thing when you have to wander around your own conscious like that. He took out a small necklace from his robe, looking at it intentively then grabbed it firmly in his fist. I know I have to live, I have to survive, not only for me, but for him, too...

With that thought, he put it back into his robe then teleported to his Office. When he got there, he sat down at the chair, turning around at the window to observe the sky, waiting for Hanako to arrive.

Hanako sat quietly as she listened to Etelka's words closely, she hadn't known Etelka long but judging by her character so far it seemed quite unlikely to the girl that the demon would lie to her or try to lead her astray. She was glad to hear that the two of them seemed to be getting along at the very least. Her opinion that Kou was not to be trusted however caught her a bit by surprise, that seemed a rather harsh judgement. Still, what Etelka said was probably correct, though that is what Hanako expected, she found it more surprising that one of her demons -did- want to serve, she had expected them all to have the sort of frame of mind that Kou seemed to have. She was pleasant enough when they met earlier but that didn't mean much in the end. Etelka was right, if Hanako needed something she would turn to her first, even so, she wished to get to know the rabbit demon better, she wasn't willing to just write her off.

As she looked over to Etelka to thank her she was caught off guard by a black iron rod being lobbed her way. Reacting quickly she caught the thing and blinked, looking rather confused as she inspected the wand. "I... See. Thank you, though, some warning would have been nice." She smiled and set the wand onto her lap, uncertain of where exactly she would keep it as it wasn't exactly small. With that distraction out of the way she continued on with what she was originally going to say. "I appreciate the honest opinion. Oh, and, thanks, I'll hold on to this... Somewhere I suppose." She chuckled quietly as she looked over her wheelchair for a moment before suddenly stopping, looking as if she had just realized something.

"Oh I can't believe I didn't think of this earlier." With her hands above her lap, palms facing each other roughly six inches apart she began to concentrate and gather mana. A dull purple light began to emanate from the space between her hands as a black mass began to form. Some moments later the magic was apparently finished and in her lap sat a pair of plain looking sunglasses. Hanako cleared her throat and picked the glasses up, holding them up to inspect them briefly before holding them out towards Etelka. "Here, this should help with the light. They are fragile though so don't be too rough with them. Then again I could just make another... Anyways, here." She was quite sure they would clash rather badly with the princess-like dress Etelka wore but they were more for practical purposes anyways. Still, the image in her mind almost made her want to giggle.

Apologizing quickly for the rough toss of the Black Wand her attention went to what the Lady had shown sudden realization over. The master concentrated her magic, a beautiful but small purple light shone between her hands. As the spell finished a pair of conjured sunglasses were conjured onto her lap, which the master handed over to her servant. "Here, this should help with the light. They are fragile though so don't be too rough with them. Then again I could just make another... Anyways, here." Etelka took them gladly, waiting nary a moment to place them onto the tip of her nose then pushing them up. It felt awkward and unfamiliar to have something there but she could immediately notice the benefit. The blinding light cast over the garden was dimmed; everything became familiar to the darkness Etelka was at home in.

She smiled one of her more genuine smiles as she turned to Hanako, "I am most grateful for this gift Lady Minami, I shall endeavor to not inconvenience you more and keep them in prime condition." Etelka couldn't help but notice that as the Lady looked at her she was smiling to the point of holding back laughter. She honestly did know how to respond to being laughed at for her appearance, this was an entirely new experience. Etelka admitted to herself that of all the things she ever expected to leave her at a loss of words it wasn't going to be her second master giggling at her appearance.

Suddenly out of the corner of her eyes she spotted Ms. Kou and Ruzik run into the open, seemingly emerging from a bush. She shot a confused glance over to Lady Minami, which made her worry for the Ladies safety in the presence of Ruzik. The demon had some sort of infatuation with hearts, and he reminded her very much of Hive, meaning he was a threat to the tiny Mistress. Quickly rising from her seat Etelka grabbed onto the handles of the wheel chair and began to leave. It was odd of her to take the initiative like this. Something about the master’s fragility in combination with her goal to be strong made her very protective of her, or perhaps she was just jumping at the chance to become a right hand demon like Mikhail. It would delightful to put herself on the same level as Mikhail, as much as she hated that demon he commanded her absolute respect as an idol demon, ultimately loyal and amazingly powerful. Twas only a shame that she would never be as strong as Mikhail, he often said the only person to ever beat him in single combat was Ervin himself, then again that must have changed given Ervin is dead with Mikhail, teacher, and Kai all missing in action.

She looked down to her master as she push her through the garden, she had no idea at the pace to go but was trying to remain relatively slow. Etelka went to explaining her sudden retreat with her usual stoic demeanor, ”My apologies if that was of any hindrance Mistress, if you noticed there was a red haired demon I’d rather not speak to you. Which reminds me, of all the demons to be wary of the fourth groups are rebellious. One of them is an old ally Hive, he is by all means and insect and will kill you given the chance.” She cringed and stopped for a moment clutching onto her abdomen, cursing again that Hive was ever admitted to his academy before going on, ”I met Ruzik not long ago, he is a cruel one who likes to toy with emotions and has an affinity for hearts. He reminds me too much of Hive who I detest too much for me to approve of this Ruzik, my meaning being that I think he would kill you given the chance.”

Etelka was extremely calm despite talking of people she assumed would kill the master given the chance, most likely because if they tried she could stand in front long enough for help to come from teachers and such. Her pain resistance did have on benefit she supposed, Ervin had given her at least one more skill before dying. Thinking of Ruzik the word 'succubus' popped into her head again, the Master seemed educated perhaps she would know what one was. Since asking questions to a mage is prohibited she need only phrase her words correctly, "Ruzik mentioned I was a succubus if that is of any interest to you m'Lady, I have no clue what that is myself."

”I threw those away for a reason, those mages think they can treat me like I have some sort of disease, like there's something wrong with me!” Kou shook her head, trying to explain that they were attempting to help him but Ruzik cut her off before she could speak. ”I'd sooner starve than take one of those things. Just keep those things away from me Kou!” He ripped himself from her grip and ran, going back towards the building. "Ruzik!" Kou called, beginning to run after him only to realize it was useless. She shook her head and redirected the blood knife back into her body, wiping her lip and straightening her dress. She would let the teachers deal with him, this wasn't her problem. Kou made a mental note to visit the infirmary later as that's most likely where Ruzik would be.

Kou pocketed the bottle of pills in case she ever needed to shove one down that bastard's throat and sighed, hearing the familiar squeak of a wheelchair. She turned and hopped along the trail, coming up behind Etelka and Hanako and slowed down a bit, wondering if they had seen her and Ruzik emerge from the bushes. "Hey Etelka-chan, rocking those shades (seriously that shop is fabulous). Hello Minami-san, is that a camera?" She leaned over to look at the shiny object in Hanako's lap. Humans who visited the shrine would sometimes bring those odd little boxes, but Kou had never seen one up close and didn't exactly know how they worked. She was, however, aware of the fact that they could capture moving objects and display them at any time on the tiny black screen.

"It's a nice day out, isn't it?" Kou hoped she wasn't intruding on a private conversation. Her ears perked up as she remembered something and decided to share. "Ichiro, from group 3 is hoping to host a party later and I think he wants a lot of people to come. Would you guys be interested in attending? Or if not we can always train as a group and work on our technique!" Kou sounded awfully chipper although it was mostly because she was trying to push away the thought of Ruzik and what he could possibly be up to. She would defend Etelka and Hanako from him if she had to, as well as her new friends Bugby, Cleo, and Ichiro (although Kou knew they were perfectly capable of defending themselves against the succubus).

Satisfied that Etelka seemed to be pleased with the glasses Hanako began to stretch her arms into the air in preparation to move on from the garden. That was until she felt a jolt on her chair from Etelka grabbing her chair's handles and pushing her along rather suddenly. Caught a bit off guard she gripped the arm rests before looking back over her shoulder at Etelka curiously. Before she could ask Etelka explained herself. In truth she hadn't noticed anyone but she didn't doubt Etelka's words as they moved at a brisk pace out of the garden. Ruzik and Hive, she remembered Hive from the demonstration but this Ruzik person was not someone she was familiar with. Regardless, Etelka seemed quite concerned about them as not only just a threat, but as people who might even seek to end her life. The thought was unsettling but wasn't outside of the possibilities she had considered before arriving at the academy. With a small sigh and a shake of her head she decided she would simply have to be a bit more careful and wary around the other demons.

As the distance from the garden grew Etelka seemed to slow down some before mentioning a comment she had heard from Ruzik. "Well, if what you say about him is true he may very well be lying to you, but..." She paused for a moment to consider how best to explain the nature of succubus before continuing, "Succubi are female demons who usually act to seduce men, the reasons for this vary but typically the succubus gains something from such sexual relations, sometimes even at the victims expense. I suppose it's comparable to a vampire feeding on blood." She hoped that was sufficient, it was vague but without knowing any more details that was about all she could say. Given Etelka's rather blunt advances the other day the idea that she was a succubus certainly didn't seem entirely out of the question, she was pretty enough for it to be certain.

Sensing that their little stroll was over for the moment Hanako took back control of her wheelchair and made way back towards the academy, she was feeling much better and figured now was as good a time as any to go see what the headmaster wanted. "The headmaster asked to see me, I'm sure he wouldn't mind if you were there as well Etelka but I will leave that up to you." The sound of approaching... Hops? Caused Hana to slow down and turn to check who was coming. The hops quickly made more sense as the sight of the bouncing bunny-demon came into view. Coming to a stop and turning to face the blue-haired girl Hana gave a pleasant smile. Once again Hana had to suppress a giggle at the comment on Etelka's new shades (it was a quick shop job but I couldn't not do it, too hilarious) before leaning in close to inspect the camera that hang around her neck. Hana gave Kou a nod, "Indeed it is. Photography is a bit of a hobby of mine. Would you mind if I took your picture Kou?" She smiled as she held up the camera, snapping quick photo if permission was granted.

A party though? Hanako wasn't exactly keen on such a thing, social gatherings were certainly never her strong suit and the idea of being around Ichiro for an extended period of time did not sound all too pleasant. "I think I will have to decline such an invitation, I'll have to give them my thanks for the offer though." That was about as diplomatically as she thought she could put it. "If you had your heart set on going feel free, though, after seeing your demonstration earlier I admit I am quite curious to learn more about your capabilities. Improving our teamwork would be a valuable use of time." She glanced over towards the school building, "How about we discuss it as walk? I have a meeting with the headmaster and I don't wish to keep him waiting long." She was glad at the opportunity to speak with Kou and found her upbeat attitude to be a bit infectious, despite Etelka's warning of caution Hanako found herself wanting to trust the rabbit demon.

Gain something from the sexual encounters? Etelka gained very little other then a brief asylum from a crippling pain and looming insanity, she always just felt something was missing in order to make the sensations go away. Perhaps this thought was wrong and her life was to be controlled by these urges, damn her whore of a mother for not being present and telling her these important things. Her disappointed sigh was audible as the Lady mentioned she had been summoned by the headmaster, of course Etelka would come with Lady Minami to see the headmaster. Not only did she prefer to stay at the Ladies side, the headmaster intrigued her, she wished to be in his presence and observe his aura which confused her.

The rabbit girl hopped up behind them seemingly noticing their retreat, while remaining stoic Etelka was being wary of the rabbit. Responding with a smile and a nod at the compliment to her 'shades', she watched the intention of Kou as she inspected the camera around the Ladies neck. The servant read the rabbits motions and decided for now her intentions were not of ill intent, relaxing herself as a result. Kou mentioned some sort of party, not something Etelka was overly fond of. Ervin occasionally hosted balls in order to further his reputation, during this times a mute charm was put on her so she could not interact with guests while she was worked to the bone trying to cook for and serve them all with only teacher to help. Although teacher Niva was more of a hindrance then help as she was desperately trying to make Ervin discard Etelka.

The master declined the invitation to which Etelka chimed in herself, "I must apologize, if the Mistress is not in attendance I would rather be by her side." She bowed apologetically to Kou before listening to the rest of the masters words. She gave a nod in agreement to talk as they began to walk and carry the conversation into the building, the masters curiosity of Kou's magic reminded Etelka that she had never shown her power in the fight. "Oh, my Lady due to my poor performance in the fight you never witnessed my magic. In short I have to the ability to make someone feel an emotion in an increased amount by establishing a connection via eye contact and drawing my blood." She saw in very few ways how she could contribute to a talk of teamwork, in the fight she was entirely useless and in most combat situations from now on she would simply try to avoid being a hassle while protecting the Lady. If things every became dire she would use the Black Armor, from what she knew of it in that form her strength should vastly surpass most people. For now she retreated to silence and listened to Ms. EtelKou and Lady Minami speak.

Kou shook her head and smiled for the picture, excited to see how it would turn out. She noticed that Etelka was being awfully defensive and was a bit irked by how formal the demon had become. They were not there to serve the mage, they were there to work together with her. "If you had your heart set on going feel free, though, after seeing your demonstration earlier I admit I am quite curious to learn more about your capabilities. Improving our teamwork would be a valuable use of time." The rabbit nodded her head once more, "alright; I don't mind missing it. I would much rather we figure out how to work together."

"How about we discuss it as walk? I have a meeting with the headmaster and I don't wish to keep him waiting long." Kou walked along with them, she was curious about the headmaster. Kou had only seen him once since arriving, but she had decided that she hated him for making her stay here. Demons could not be confined to one place, especially ones like Kou that needed open space to move and hop around. She was itching to get out of here and explore the town around the school, but knew that wasn't going to happen anytime soon. "What do you think of our classmates so far? Some of them seem pretty powerful." Kou inquired as they moved along. She was hoping to get to know more of them as time went on; maybe they would even have a chance to face off? Not to the death or anything.

"Oh, my Lady due to my poor performance in the fight you never witnessed my magic. In short I have to the ability to make someone feel an emotion in an increased amount by establishing a connection via eye contact and drawing my blood." So that's what Etelka had been trying to do? Kou figured the demon had some sort of mind power that was connected when they shared blood, but it had been confusing and so she had simply tried her best to support Etelka. "I think we could really benefit from a team practice," Kou chimed in when Etelka finished. She could see that the other demon was beginning to grow uneasy around her and wondered what was making her so restless. Did Etelka not trust her? Or maybe Hanako had said something?

With all in agreement it was a short trip back to the academy. It was only once they were once again inside that Hanako realized she didn't know where the headmaster's office actually was. After thinking about that for a moment however the office's location suddenly sprung to mind, as well as the directions needed to get there, likely a result of one of the many magics here at the academy. After this brief pause she began to move once more towards the office, considering Kou's question as she went. "Hrm..." She hummed a thoughtful note before continuing, "Well, it seems many of the demons here are powerful, some of the mages as well. That said, I don't find it very likely we'll be put up against the other groups, at least not as part of normal schooling here, avoiding conflicts altogether may not be possible however. I believe our advantage lies in victory outside of a straight up battle, though if a battle is inevitable we should be ready to work and fight together."

The trek to the headmaster's office wasn't an overly long one and as she rolled closer to the door the uncertainty she felt earlier began to seep back into her consciousness. She wasn't sure what the headmaster wanted so she simply hoped it was nothing bad. Clearing her throat she rolled towards the door and gave a few firm knocks, awaiting her the headmaster's reply to allow her inside.

So Muse had missed the first lesson? Did that mean her teammate had to fight a monster alone? She had not only missed the opportunity to fight a beast, but would not get to see the potential her team had and whether or not they were compatible in battle. Muse had also missed out on the other fights so she had no idea what types of abilities the other demons possessed. Suddenly the redhead spoke up and Muse turned her attention towards him as he went on a tirade about how he was being oppressed by the mages and could no longer enjoy himself now that he couldn't rip hearts out. She was a bit perturbed by this, although Muse didn't say anything because she truly wasn't any better.

Ruzik stormed off to the nurse's office then and there was an audible sigh of relief and ease of tension from Bugby and Cleo. What sort of reaction would they have when Muse told them she was in here for killing humans as well? Although the ones she had drowned had deserved it. Melusine were almost like sirens, only they did not eat souls and only drowned men who were lusty or got too close to their home. “So... are you two as bad as that guy?" Muse shook her head no, her flower clip coming loose once more. She unfastened it and replaced it in her hair, allowing Bugby to answer first.

How awful that his parents had dragged him here! No child should feel as though their parents were against them. Muse did not know the people who gave birth to her, but the one who had summoned her was a mage named Wilson that had been like a father who had shown Muse the potential of humanity. Then Wilson died and Thomas took over and her faith in humans had dissipated. ”So what did bring you here, Muse?” The Melusine fidgeted for a minute, wondering if she should tell them the truth or make something up. No, nothing good ever came from lying; it would be best to explain herself.

"Well.... I killed a few people, but not innocent people!" She could feel her heart rate climbing and Muse's wings began to flutter with nervousness. She had just made these friends, Muse didn't want to lose them so quickly. "You see, my mage, he was evil so I killed him to escape and then when I joined the other melusine; well our job was to drown men who committed grievances against others." Muse had killed a few innocent humans though, which is most likely why she had been brought here, but everything she did was to survive.

Without realizing it Muse had grabbed the ends of her borrowed shirt and was twisting the cloth in her hands, stretching out the article that had most likely been in the lost and found before being handed down to her. "I guess they brought me here because of that... heh, heh." There was no humor in her laugh, it was rather awkward and despite her smile, Muse was blushing furiously. If they didn't want her to hang around them anymore she would understand.

Kou nodded her head as she listened to Hanako speak, she frowned at what the mage said about them not being able to fight each other. Kou had been looking forward to a friendly battle between teams.

They arrived at the Headmaster's office rather quickly and her heart rate picked up a bit. Kou wondered if he could sense her hatred of him and tried to suppress any unwanted feelings as well as quell any thoughts in case he was a mind reader. Kou had sensed a very powerful aura coming off of him and what type of magic he possessed was beyond her. "Why does he want to talk to you?" Kou asked as Hanako knocked.

"So, what is the little "side-effect" of the pill?" Mikari questioned.

"How do I say this..." Midora looked up, "Let's just say that even though those pills have effects to satisfy Ruzik's hunger for hearts, but it'll also cause him to... erm... this is kinda..."

"What, tell me tell me." Mikari leaned forward as he felt his curiosity got the best of him.

The Headmaster sighed, "Basically, it's more like that his desire for hearts would lowered down, but another desire of him will risen up, if you know what I mean..."

"Oooh." Mikari nodded as a mischievous smirk appeared on his face, "This thing only getting more and more interesting."

"I say, you just left him there and let him come for you if he wants. If he doesn't then there's going to be someone taken care of him already. I really don't want you getting all worked-up. We still have works to do tonight, remember?" Midora said coldly.

"Yeah yeah, always the same person who likes to command." Mikari said with a light-hearted smile, "So if I understand this correctly, because of the Incubuses' desires are already their nature, there are no ways to alter that and Ruzik wasn't an exception, we'll have to train him so that he won't desires for hearts anymore, but instead, he'll desire something which aren't life-threatening but still enough to satisfy his hunger like the victims' mana, right?"

Midora nodded, "Yeah, but that will take time and you're going to tame him by yourself a lot if your group Mage couldn't, so it's not going to be that easy."

"Say, about our little hideout, you said that just teleport inside will be fine as the barrier will allows us Dark Mages to enter. How about its door?" Mikari asked as he crossed his legs.

"Well, if anyone wanted to enter through the door, they have to fuse Dark Matter with a drop of a Dark Mage's blood and painted it on the lock and the door will open itself. But rest assure, the chamber was safely hidden from sight by the barrier around this Academy, and the only ones who can conjure Dark Matter within this school are the two of us so you don't have to worry about anyone found out about it. Besides, I know whatever is happening within the school's ground like the back of my hand. It's kinda like a privilege that was given to every Headmasters or Headmistresses who stepped into the position." Midora said.

"I see." Mikari nodded. As they were still chatting, someone was knocking the door. "Please come in." Midora said as he raised his finger a bit and the door opened itself. When the group stepped in, Mikari stood up, "Okay, I'll go and find something to do in the meantime. See you later?"

"Yeah, have fun." Midora spoke calmly as Mikari took his leave. Mikari looked on at Hanako and her fellow demons, Kou and Etelka. He can felt a wave of malice from the rabbit girl towards him. But this is nothing compared to all the hatred he received in his life. Tsukuyomi was right, the girl held quite a high level of malice. But her Teacher can help her. The other demon girl is more calm and it seemed that she's somewhat have more respect to him as it showed in her eyes. Having the gift of Dark Magic can help you see through the darkest sides of beings, which is why Midora understood their hearts more than anyone. "It seems that you all have developed quite a bond during the first day. I must say, I'm quite impressed with how you all work together. So keep up the good work and follow your instructor's advice well."

He paused a bit before looked at Hanako, "Before we move into the main point why I summoned you here, Hanako, there's something that I needed to talk about what happened this morning. First, I apologize for any words that Mikari-sensei had said should they offended you. He was a new Teacher, he still has to learnt and he was always a straightforward person like that. I've talked to him about this subject and we'll make sure that whatever happened this morning won't happen again in the future. However,..."

Midora closed his eyes as he spoke with a caring, yet quite strict tone, "We had our own methods of teaching and it is your duty to find a way to learn from what we demonstrated. Which is why acting as if you were disappointed because you didn't understand what we do. You're here to learn, to better yourself. It's true that what we've taught recently are merely basics, but no one can be sure that they aren't making mistakes. We want you to learn not to underestimate even the smallest things. Another thing is, we have to strictly follow from a low to a high level of training, skipping process can only bring bad results. For example, if we asked you to concentrate your strength and open a portal to another dimension, or force you to learn about complicated spells that required knowledge about complex runes, potions, etc, will you able to do? You might have a strong foundation, but some of the others don't. You see how Ichiro performed. 'Perfection' isn't the correct word to describe a Mage. It is from small things that we learn how to better ourselves. For someone who is very clever like you, I hope you understand and have the correct attitude of what we've devoted ourselves into."

He let his words to sink in before going on, "One more thing is, I hope you do not felt irritated because of what Mikari has said. I don't deny that you have to overcame a lot of hardships, because everyone does. And no one said that they were easy to pass through either. But if you understand what true hardships mean, then tell me, have you ever being alienated and humiliated right in front of the public just because you were different? Did you ever have to do the worst possible jobs just to survive? Have you ever stood alone and faced a whole group consists of powerful Mages who had the opposite element with you? Did you ever have to kill the person whom you loved more than anything by your own two hands?"

Suddenly, Midora couldn't understand why his face felt wet and his heart quenched in pain after finishing the sentence. He tried his best to stop his tears from pouring out, but it was in vain. Midora was hurt, extremely hurt as memories of the dark past began to flowed back, endlessly. Besides from the feeling of grief and sorrow, he couldn't felt more awkward as the way he is crying right in front of the students. He couldn't felt more vulnerable than this. He clenched his fist, while using the other arm to swept the tears from his face, telling himself things going to be okay. A moment later, his tears stop flowing for a bit, but the feeling of great sadness still bothering him.

"I... I'm sorry for what you just saw." Midora said, trying to be as calm as he can, "Now, to the main point. Hanako, can you took off your shoes and your socks?"

Etelka Lantos

Image

As they walked the Lady spoke of the groups combat potential, as Etelka saw it Kou was their combat prowess but to be fair she had little knowledge of the Ladies potential. All she knew of Minami's power was when she encased the advancing hand of Etelka in a tiny wall of sorts, and the conjuration of sunglasses which since they had entered inside had been pushed up to rest on her head. The Lady was correct, Etelka's potential was out of combat, her first straight fight had happened just before lunch hour. Combat without advantage would be a straight loss for the servant girl, gaining the advantage however was her specialty.

They arrived at the headmasters office, a door separating the group and the esteemed headmaster. Etelka could already feel him on the other side of the door as the Mistress knocked, she could feel his immense presence. It was... enthralling and disgusting, the sheer presence of the headmaster made Etelka remember Ervin vividly, but not as terribly as Hive brought up the memories. Hive was a insect who constantly angered Master Ervin, which led to him having to deal with his anger, Ervin was a great man and should not be remembered so poorly.

Kou asked a question but it was cut short by the headmaster opening the door and inviting the group inside. The headmaster began to talk, going to lengths about things that had happened in the Ladies class, all of which Etelka made sure to follow as she was given the grace to listen to a powerful mage. His aura still intrigued her greatly, it was so powerful, he was the second strongest mage she had ever been in the presence of, yet also the most powerful. How could one possess two levels of power? It was so intriguing she wished the serve under a man as great as Ervin once more, but he had assigned her to Lady Minami and she would be unwavering loyal to her. Something else about the mans aura was different from Ervin's which was warm and oppressing, the headmasters was shady and seemed to creep into her heart, was he perhaps analyzing something about her?

Then the headmaster began to speak of hardships, he was calm at first but quickly became condescending in tone, as if none of the people should try and compare their difficulties with him. Then he panicked and slowly became pathetic, listing off things he had clearly been forced to overcome. This was disgusting, watching this powerful mage lose color in face and let tears stream down it as he talked to students, respect for the headmaster quickly drained from Etelka. Ervin had never showed weakness, not to her and reportedly not once to Teacher Niva, Mikhail was the only one Ervin would even contemplate showing his flaws to. But the headmaster flaunted his weakness in front of them as he cried, Etelka was now very glad she did not serve him, even if his magic was strong one this emotionally weak could never be as strong as Ervin, she would rather help the Lady grow.

Where did the headmaster get off listing hardships anyway?! Did he not check which student he was talking to before doing this, to be fair Etelka had a similar if not worse reaction when her past was brought up, but she was weak it was to be expected. The 'esteemed' headmaster finished his sad display and apologized, Etelka had already lost all respect for him and only disdain filled her face now. As she no longer respected the headmaster a want came over her, a want to speak out of line, she didn't know what sort of past the Lady had, but acting all like a hurt kitten in front of Etelka.

"Oh 'esteemed' headmaster if were listing troubles let me ask you, do you know a burning iron feels like on the roof of your mouth? What lashing your own back as you are forced to not to cry try feels like? To have your limbs dug out with a knife while you are tied down and fully aware? To have your faced slammed into a wall for doing your hair wrong? To be poisoned with a gut retching toxin for messing up a recipe, then having to get it right while coughing up blood? To be raped, beaten, bitten, burnt, tied up, lashed, and so much more almost every day? To have your own parents never love you and leave you to this fate? Do not list off your issues in front of me 'esteemed' headmaster, I could go for ages but have made my point. Do not compare hardships."

Etelka glared at the headmaster, remaining stoic in voice but clearly unimpressed in face. She had zoned into her speech and only just realized the over protective Kou as also in the room. She would have told the Lady on request anyway so her learning these things was hardly a hassle, but the rabbit girl would be annoying. Etelka decided to look over to Kou and gave a short smile, before returning her gaze to the headmaster.

With a moment spent to compose herself and make sure her posture was correct she awaited permission to enter which seemed to be granted when the door opened on its own. She eyed Mikari as he walked passed and out of the room before rolling herself into the room. With the three of them together now before the headmaster the door shut behind them, being in the headmaster's presence was a strange sensation. Even the smallest alterations in his magic were easily felt, it only made Hanako's resolve to become strong harden. After some short introductory small talk the headmaster moved swiftly on to his reason for summoning Hanako here, Hanako's ears perked up as she focused in on the words to come. She was quite happy to hear an apology on Mikari's behavior earlier, his lingering "however" caused her a bit of curiosity as one of her brows arched slightly.

What followed was a speech that sounded a bit like what Mikari had said to her before. She understood the need to start from a basic level considering the apparent knowledge of some of her fellow mages, but she certainly still had the right to be disappointed with such a fact. As he went on to list more complicated forms of magic Hanako wanted to sigh, but such a behavior was certainly not appropriate in front of the headmaster. She may not be able to perform all the aforementioned tasks but she understood their concepts and firmly believed she could achieve such tasks given the time to study and practice. She wasn't exactly satisfied with the words she had heard but it seemed they would have to do, it was becoming quite clear that the teachers here at this school had some strange methods of educating their students, methods she wasn't sure she agreed with. Though, such objections were a bit meaningless at this point, she would simply have to adapt.

Her lips parted as she was about to speak but, the headmaster seemed to have more to say. Closing her mouth she once again sat in silence and listened to the man's words. The topic of 'hardships' that had irked her so before was once again brought up, again she wished to sigh, this was certainly not something she wanted to hear again. The speech the headmaster gave however began to take a turn for the pathetic. She had never wished to compare hardships nor had she ever began to even think to imply that hers were greater than anyone else's, and yet here the headmaster was, mouth spilling over with words as if to say -his- suffering was greater. In truth Hanako found the display pathetic but she tried her best to keep a stoic expression throughout the grown man's childlike tirade. In truth she cared little about what past the headmaster had, his tragic background meant nothing to her. All she saw before her was someone who was supposed to be mature, professional, a role model for mage students everywhere bawling like a child after a temper tantrum.

Hanako had no desire to listen to it any longer and luckily for her it seemed he was done. She had no intention of ever going through an inch of those hardships the headmaster had. Such wasn't her desire nor her role, she was more the type to observe other people's struggles and learn from them that way, it was far more efficient and nearly grief-free. A few moments of silence lingered as the headmaster began to collect himself, she was infinitely relieved that that was done with. It wasn't long after however that Etelka began to chime in as well. In truth, it made her feel a bit better about the situation, the words she spoke were the same as some of her thoughts but in the end, all of this was quite the waste of time. Clearing her throat after Etelka finished, Hanako spoke up. "Please, I think we can all agree that that is enough? It does none of us any service to continue speaking of these things. I do not wish to waste more of my nor anyone else's time here, let's move on to the point of our meeting, please." It was almost humorous to her, the teenage girl was the voice of reason in this room of old demons and a powerful mage.

Holding back a third sigh she turned her attention to the headmaster's request. She had very little clue what he intended to do exactly but, she trusted his knowledge at the very least. "Very well, I am wearing tights however so I think removing them here would be a bit... Inappropriate so I hope removing my shoes will be enough. I suppose if it's absolutely necessary you could rip them around my feet, I have plenty more in my room." She -was- capable of removing her shoes herself but the task was hardly graceful for her, so, with a small smile breaking her stoic expression she turned her head towards Etelka, "Would you mind helping me remove my shoes Etelka?"

The aura that came off of Midora was overwhelmingly dark. Kou wasn't sure what to think quite frankly, since he was supposed to be a good mage and yet the waves rolling off of him seemed to say otherwise. She looked around his office, taking in the magic trinkets and interesting interior decorations before settling her gaze on Midora himself. The other dark mage, Mikari, had exited as they had entered with an odd sense of urgency and Kou had a bad feeling she knew why. He's not your problem, don't get involved.

She listened as Midora spoke to Hanako about what had happened during their training exercise today. Kou was honestly curious and she listened intently, wondering if Hanako was more powerful then she let on or if Mikari was a simpleton who had gotten a teaching job based on the fact that he was clearly friends with the Headmaster. Was the second dark mage even qualified to be here? From what she had seen of him so far, all Mikari had done was goof off and harass a few students. The demon teachers weren't any better though, they had made the students battle a bunch of monsters without determining whether any of them possessed abilities that could potentially harm someone. Thankfully the only thing that had gotten hurt were a few egos, other then that everyone had come out mostly unscathed.

Then Midora started crying and muttering about his past, causing Kou to frown and wonder if he was attempting to evoke sympathy from Hanako. It was a truly confusing display for Kou as someone with such a powerful aura should surely have something as simple as their emotions under control. She crossed her arms and cocked a hip, an ear flopping over as he attempted to apologize for his pathetic display. Then Etelka spoke up, challenging him with her own past.

Kou had stopped listening at this point as she did not want to hear about the horrors Etelka had gone through compared to the Headmaster's history. She didn't really care either as the past was something she no longer wanted to linger on. Instead her thoughts wandered towards whether there were going to be afternoon classes and what the schedule for the year would look like. Kou's mind came back when she felt eyes on her and realized Etelka was smiling at her. Did Kou do something weird? Had she said something aloud by mistake? Instead of attempting to figure it out Kou simply smiled back, her ears springing up once more.

Hanako inquired to Etelka to assist her with her shoes and Kou's smile quickly faded. The two had became close awfully fast and it made Kou feel a bit left out. "Here, let me." Kou said swiftly and gently pulled off Hanako's shoes before Etelka had the chance. It wasn't that Kou wanted to serve the Mage, it was that she was very competitive and even though she hated humans, losing to a demon for something as simple as winning over affections was not something Kou was going to accept.

Midora just looked on with a blank expression. He doesn't care whatever the ones who are standing in front of him in the slightest. Throughout his life, understanding is something that he might never seemed to achieve, even though his life has turned over a new page. What's he wanted to taught them were that simple, but it seemed that they seemed to have a long way though. Midora simply did so because he wanted them to learn what he has learnt in the past, so that no one will ever have to go through what he's been through again.

For a Dark Mage like him, he has always been taught how to control his negative emotions, repressed them to the point that he can still look perfectly calm although a storm was raging inside of him. But sometimes, like earlier, the pain from the past came back and cause all of his emotions to burst. Fortunately though, he wasn't enraged enough to enter his 'berserk' state. Well, no one would ever understand unless they were Dark Mages. After all, he has expected that they would react like this. He has dealt with situations like these before but he accepted it, considering it's a punishment for being someone who so into the dark.

Midora simply ignored whatever Etelka said. Respect? Does she really respect him at the first or she simply just do so because he was 'similar' to her former master? Throughout his life, one moment, people might say that they has something called as 'respect' for him and the other second, they could desperately trying to get rid of him. Which is why even if the Demon grown to hate him, he wouldn't care. She isn't his group student anyway so he just simply leave her for Sarah to take care of. He stood up and walked towards Hanako after Kou has taken up her shoes and socks. "Step aside." He said coldly to the other two as he cut a small cut on his thumb and drew blood. He dropped a few drop of his blood on the floor. As soon as it fell on the floor, it was drawn into a big infinity circle that surrounded Hanako.

He looked on at Hanako, "Despite the fact that you're disabled, you're still not an exception for our upcoming physical lessons. I believe you know that in order to use magic efficiently, you'll be required to use both physical's strength and mental's strength. Mages who is handicapped like you have a strong affinity for mental's strength than the others, but what they lacked is physical's strength. Which is why some medium-level spells can even put a great strain on you if you don't have a chance to practice."

He paused a bit then continue, "This might sound a little nonsense, but you're not the first Mage who has problems with disability we ever had. I can make you be able to walk, but since your legs were disabled by magic and it is impossible to repair, you can only move freely temporarily during physical sessions. When you go through this spell, it will be excruciating and you can't walk right away just yet. You will have to practice on how to walk from scratches. And believe me, it's nowhere near easy. It will cost you a lot of strength, it will be painful, it will push you over your limits. But in the end, the result will worth what you've put into. Have you understand?"

Midora crossed his arms and look at the other Mage with a calm expression like usual, "This is what I have to do with students like you, Hanako. You might not agree to do this, but this is the rule and I must follow so I can't do anything otherwise. I understand that no one wanted to go through pain, but this is the challenge that was placed on your shoulder the moment you were sent here. Things might be easy for you so far, but the real test will begin from now. So, are you ready?"

On the roof of the Academy, Mikari sat quietly as he closed his eyes and felt the breeze flowing through his face. This is so peaceful... From there, he can observed the whole town and everything seemed to be quite normal, despite the 'small' problem that has occurred recently, but they can take care of that later. The sun was just a few hours away before setting into the horizon.

As he was still enjoying himself, he heard that his phone was ringing. He sighed as he took it from his robe and answered. "This is Mikari here, may I help you?"

"Mr. Akigawa, there's a problem related to a student from your supervising group that needed your presence." The secretary spoke.

"Okay, so where was he?" Mikari can already guessed who was it.

"He's currently at the infirmary under the supervision of the nurse who's on duty there. And she said that he is a little… frisker than usual.”

Mikari couldn't help but let out a chuckle, "Got it. I will be on my way immediately." He said then turned off the call. He stretched his arms, "Well, looks like today wasn't entirely boring after all. Now let's see if has found out the answer or not." He said as he teleported.

A few minutes later, Mikari reached the infirmary. Out of a sudden, the Dark Mage appeared from the dark vortex. "Well, hello ladies and gentlemen." He greeted with a light-hearted smile as he walked over a chair and sat down casually with both of his legs crossed, "I heard that my presence was needed here. What's the problem?" He said as he thrown a playful look at the red-head Demon on the bed.

What did that rabbit girl think she was doing, dashing past Etelka and removing the shoes before she could. She kept her stoic face but a great animosity for the animal grew quickly, who did she think she was?! This was Etelka's chance to gain the same rank as Mikhail, she cared little for allies and friends, if this rabbit was to turn this into a competition she will regret it. The headmaster meanwhile seemed to entirely ignore her, everyone at this academy was so annoyingly superior and cocky, the Lady is the only one worth caring about. Still, the headmaster continued by drawing blood and drawing some sort of circle around the master with it, then ranting on once more.

HE would cast a spell on her and make her walk again, HE would be in charge of her mobility. Etelka scoffed as he asked if she was ready, if he was to ignore her she would do the same to him, she served one master and she would make her strong just the two of them. Etelka grabbed the chair, gently pulling the master out of the blood rune the headmaster had drawn. She broke her flat demeanor and shot a piercing glare at the headmaster, "Human, Lady Minami has no need for YOUR help, I shall not allow my master to be reliant on the spell of another human. That is not strength, it is dependence. YOU say it is rules, that she has no choice. I say that if YOU try to force her reliance on YOUR magic you will have to kill me first. Now ignore my group as you did me."

She ignored any verbal resistance the headmaster gave. Etelka pushed the master towards the door, if he was to stop her he would have to do it physically. The Lady would grow strong on her own via instruction and learning, if she wished her legs back then she should get them back herself. Ervin lived by that code, strength is the most important thing, you do not rely on someone you cannot control.

It came as a bit of a surprise when not Etelka but Kou came quickly to her assistance. She found it a bit curious but there were more pressing matters at hand. She watched curiously and carefully as the headmaster began his ritual preparations, this sort of scene was a familiar one to Hanako but it was quite rare to be at the center of it. As the headmaster began his speech more and more Hanako had an idea where he was going with this. Another person who wanted to try and 'fix' her. She already knew whatever plan the headmaster had hatched wouldn't work, her family had gone to many lengths to try and achieve the same results and ultimately met with failure each and every time.

Under her pale skin and stoic expression her emotions began to boil up. Part of her mind raced to keep the poison that wanted to spill out from her tongue in check, she knew it would help nothing, she would simply have to swallow it down for now. Gripping the arm rests of her wheelchair tightly Hanako closed her eyes and took a deep, shaky breath. Her mind began to clear and crank into motion and it was at that moment she felt someone take control of her chair from behind. Her eyes opened quickly as she darted her glance over her shoulder to find Etelka there, staring daggers at the Headmaster as she pulled Hanako from the magic circle and speaking harshly in Midora's direction. Etelka's words were true and at some level certainly appreciated by the young woman, they were however ultimately pointless, the headmaster couldn't have fixed her even she wanted him to.

Before Etelka could finish pushing Hanako from the room she raised her hand, "Please, allow me at least to speak before we leave." After taking back command of her chair she turned it about to face Midora once more. She spoke calmly and stared coldly across the room at the man before her, "My disability is not so simply fixed, certainly you know my family would have tried almost any means to... 'Correct' this little mistake that has besmirched their proud name." Hanako took another even breath before continuing, "The full and true nature of my disability is not fully known, but it is magical in nature. The magical circuits in my legs are abnormal, perhaps one could call them mutated. Despite any commands I give, magical or otherwise, they remain still. However, I'd like to focus on the more important part of this conversation. You say I will not be able to participate in some future lessons, that I will require physical strength, you assume I will fail already before I've even tried. I believe my purpose in coming here is not to be 'cured' or 'fixed' but to learn, adapt, and overcome. I -will- find a way to do these things you think I cannot, -that- is my task, -that- is why I am here. If you find that to be unacceptable then I will simply leave this Academy and work towards my future on my own."

With her hands now resting her lap and her face still stoic and cold, "I have nothing more to say on this subject, I wish you a good day Headmaster." With that she turned herself around and spoke in a quieter voice, directly to the two demons at her side, "Let's go." Her direction was aimless, her mind was far more preoccupied with other things, namely keeping it all together, she didn't wish to break down in the presence of Etelka or Kou. She wanted desperately to say something to break the silence but nothing came to her clouded mind or her uncertain tongue, she wasn't even sure if she wanted to be alone right now or not. Nothing was different here in this new place, everything was just as confusing and bewildering as before, every path that laid before her seemed fraught with uncertainty. It was a sickening feeling that she had known for far too long and one that seemed she would have to live with for even longer yet.

Kou was appalled by what Midora was trying to do, as if Hanako was some broken doll that could be fixed with a piece of tape. She watched in horror as he pushed past herself and Etelka, ignoring the two demons and drawing some ritual pentagon on the ground. Kou's hands balled into fists, seething at the superiority of this man. What little respect she had left for the human withered away as he attempted to explain his actions, as if him being in charge made it right. Thankfully Etelka was still in her right mind and wheeled Hanako out of the circle, giving Midora a piece of her mind.

Kou picked up Hanako's discarded shoes and stood by the mage's side as she spoke for herself, saying that she was going to overcome every challenge on her own. Kou did not hesitate to follow the human out of the room, an odd swell of pride in her chest. Could she really be developing some sort of affection for this human? She shook her head, hoping something so horrible was not happening. Hanako had earned a bit of Kou's respect was all, Etelka as well. This morning in her eyes they had been nothing more then liabilities, but now Kou was beginning to see them as equals.

Their walk was quiet, not awkward, just silent. She was comfortable with the lack of speech, although Hanako was squirming a bit in her chair, as if looking for something to say. "Oh your shoes!" Kou waited to see if Hanako stopped her chair so she could replace them on the mage's feet. The rabbit stood upright and brushed her bangs out of her eyes, wondering if Etelka was mad at her for what she had done before. "Sorry I pushed you out of the way, I don't really know what came over me in that moment." Kou knew exactly what happened, she had been jealous of their bond but Kou wasn't going to admit that.

"Why don't we go to the gym and start on that team training?" Kou suggested seeing as how there seemed to be no afternoon classes. If there were they hadn't been told about them, so Kou simply assumed that their after lunch schedule was put on hold for reasons unknown to them. "Or we could go to the room and have some girl talk?" They had gone pretty far from Midora's office now and were passing by a group of familiar demons and a mage clustered around something inside one of the rooms. Kou was curious as to what they were doing, but since Hanako and Etelka seemed uninterested Kou continued on with them.

"Alright kiddies, lets go find our partner in crime, kyahaha!" Pear walked through the hallways, he had arrived late as he was to replace a student who was removed for reasons unknown to him. For now his kids stuck close to him, none of the six were comfortable with large interior buildings, only him and Cateline had ever even been inside for an extended period of time. Still Pear insured them they would be fine, "Especially you Yuko, I'll keep you extra safe kiddo!" Some students shot the tall man talking to flying entities strange looks, but his huge tooth baring smile in return usually made them not want to actually bother him.

For now Pear wandered the halls looking for one of two people, a tiny pale haired winged lass or a tiny auburn haired lass. The most logical place to search would be one abundant with people so he bee lined for the cafeteria. Despite the hour for food having been long passed many still sat around chatting, and with the six pairs of eyes searching the room one found them. Pear gave a thumbs up as Adam told him he found someone who looked like their mage, "Kyahaha, good job Adam, let's all go say hello to her!" He walked his way through the large room, bumping into a few people with his huge frame before making to the table which hosted a single stoic faced girl.

He would probably be hard to not notice standing beside her at such a height and looking straight at the girl. Four of the kids stuck close to Pear but Adam had always been braver and placed himself right in front of the girls face. "Hey there, you're Liliane right? I'm your new pops, Pear, he outstreched his arm and waited briefly for his hand to be shaken but continued either way, "Oh, in your face there is my eldest son Adam, smiles here is my eldest daughter Cateline, Rowan is big nose over here, John is the angry looking kid, and my loveliest daughter Yuko is hiding behind my head, kyahahaha!" He reached behind is head, grabbing Yuko and pulling her forward and giving her a quick kiss on the forehead before letting her again retreat behind him. Pear looked expectantly at the young Liliane waiting for reply with his normal huge smile as the kids stuck near his head also looking expectant.

The Lady asked to speak to headmaster before leaving, which of course Etelka indulged. The Lady spoke of magic issues with her legs that Etelka could not fully understand. She continued on in a way that made the servant happy to serve, such strong spirit and will power. Lady Minami most certainly had the potential to become strong, hopefully she would not discard her weak servant. They then left the room and Kou gave the Lady her shoes back and apologized. She clearly did not understand the severity of the gesture it regards to Etelka, no matter, one would eventually prove more useful and Etelka would not lose this. They wandered aimlessly for a good time, Kou suggested they go team building or simply return to the dorm and talk.

"I restate I have little to contribute to team building, but I will follow the Ladies whims," she yawned after speaking. A good amount of time had passed since lunch and afternoon classes were seeming unlikely. This combined with Etelka being deadbeat tired made her desperately prefer the option of returning to the room seem entirely preferable. Still, it was not her place to choose, so she would follow the Lady in silence until she decided what to do.

"That's why we'll teach you," Kou replied and winked. "You don't necessarily have to use your ability, that staff you have? I can teach you to wield that and I'm sure Hanako-chan would have something to contribute as well." Kou stopped walking when she heard someone in the cafeteria. They had to pass by the lunchroom in order to get to the dorms and she peeked inside to see Ruzik and one of the dark mages, Mikari or something like that. Kou noticed something sticking out of Ruzik's mouth and her eyes widened when she realized he was eating human food.

She turned back towards Hanako and Etelka and continued following them. Kou wondered where she could get a bag of lollipops so that the next time she and Ruzik hung out and he had cravings she could give those to him instead of hearts. Would the sweets satiate his hunger? Or was it simply another distraction they were using to keep the boy from killing and devouring student hearts? Why did her thoughts keep turning back to that Incubus? Had Kou really missed him that much? The odd feeling in her chest told her yes, she had missed him a lot more then she was letting on.

Kou sighed and ran her hands through her hair, grabbing her ears and tugging on them in frustration. "Do you ever think about someone and realize that they annoy the hell out of you, but you can't help but love them?" She asked, really musing aloud more then asking her companions. Kou sighed and let go of her ears as she was beginning to get a headache.

"Oh I have an idea! I'll be right back!" The rabbit demon walked as fast as she could to the library and began to browse books on magic. Once Kou found what she was looking for she headed back towards Hanako and Etelka, unsure what the rules were for borrowing novels from this place. Kou found them pretty close to the spot they had been in before and showed them what she had brought. "I found a book on magic so we can begin studying and one on monsters so we know what we'll be up against next time."
