Physical Description
With porcelain skin and a smooth complexion, Muse is the image of a doll. She has long, slender limbs that are extremely flexible and can bend at incredible angles. Her hair is periwinkle colored and shines when it catches the light, it falls in gentle waves right over shoulders and can usually be found clipped back with a flower. Adorning her back are a set of fairy-like wings which are light and see through with the illusion of water dripping down them. If you look closely, you will notice that both her wings and Muses's skin sparkle. It is because Muse has a second layer of skin that allows her to breathe underwater; this is called ena and it must be kept hydrated otherwise it will crack and Muse will feel as though she is drowning on dry land.
Muse is a very unique species that is extinct on earth, there are more four leaf clovers on the planet then the group of beings she belonged to. As such, Muse exhibits typical traits of this species such as markings along her body that look almost like runes. They go across her back and down her legs and glow when she is using her magic.

Personality
Cunning | Deceitful | Lonely | Easily Angered | Amused
Despite her friendly appearance and cute exterior, Muse is actually quite hostile. Due to her history she was forced to be defensive and learned how to survive and live off of the land. As such, Muse is cautious around everyone and hesitant to get to know people. She has put up this wall in order to keep herself from getting hurt again and does not let anyone through.
That doesn't mean she won't act perfectly pleasant, in fact Muse is very polite and knows how to keep herself in check. She is very deceitful and could be saying one thing while planning another. Her temper is awful and very hard to quell so it is best to attempt not to make Muse made as it will make her lose control.

Water Manipulation || Muse can manipulate water like nobodies business. She can make it rain, construct whirlpools, extract water from plants and one of her least favorites, manipulate the water in someone else's body. It is an amazing and terrifying ability that can sometimes get out of control when Muse loses her grip on her emotions.

Appearance Augmentation || Muse can shrink to the size of a pixie. Not really anything amazing, although it is quite useful for hiding. Similarly when she is in water, her wings turn into a tail.

Mind Reading || Muse has this odd ability where she can read what your greatest desire is. She cannot see anything else inside of your head, only this.

History
Muse was born from a wish. Created from the thoughts, dreams, hope, and magic of a mage; she was born the size of a pixie. This being was supposed to be a melusine, but had appeared with wings. Confused, the mage that summoned her decided that he would raise what he believed to be a fairy as his familiar. He named her Muse for the Goddesses of the arts as the sound she made when flying resembled that of a symphony. He was a kind mage and attempted to teach Muse the ways of the world. She grew slowly and by the time Muse had reached three feet tall her mage was around eighty years old. When he passed, his estate, books, and familiar were all inherited by his son.
Muse did not like her new master named Thomas, he was cocky and believed that he was superior to his father. He enjoyed abusing Muses's abilities and liked to make others suffer. When she attempted to run away, Thomas locked Muse in a cage and lit the ground on fire; severely burning her feet so that she could not attempt to leave. It was during a rain storm that Thomas finally crossed the line. His snake like fingers had slithered down Muses's skirt and attempted to touch her. Infuriated, Muse's temper lit faster then a lightning strike and Thomas's body was found bloated and disfigured in the lake behind the estate.
Scared of what she had done, Muse fled to the only place she could think of; the ocean. As it turns out, Muse was a melusine and as soon as she stepped into the water; her wings turned into a tail. Somehow entering the ocean alerted a whole pack of her species and the readily accepted their sister with open arms. Muse spent many days after this luring men to their deaths and guarding the waterfall where her sisters resided. It was on a sunny spring morning that the humans came for them and trapped the melusine in their oasis. Muse only managed to get away because her tail could transform and she fled as far and as fast as she could.
Somehow, the creature ended up in England and lived out her days peacefully as a pixie in the forest. Occasionally she would trick little children into bringing her food or would drown the odd lost fellow, but other then that Muse did not really do anything to attract attention to herself. She was attempting to lay low, but a pesky mage and an accident that set off her temper ended up with a group being dispatched to bring her to the academy.

Other
Muse is very defensive about her past, she believes that all of her actions were justified and every person she drowned had it coming. She is not sorry and most certainly not willing to repent for her actions.

So begins...

Slender wrists bound by rope, wings duct tape to her back; Muse felt like she had gone through the garbage disposal. The journey from her home forest in England to this place, wherever it may be, was quite uncomfortable considering how the mages had to bring her in. Muse had refused to go with them, instead opting to shrink down to the size of a pixie and hide inside of a hollowed out tree. One brilliant mage then set the tree aflame, forcing her to come out and starting a forest fire. In Muse's rush to quell her burning home, she had been distracted and caught by the three mages and was now being lugged to some academy where they would teach her to be a good little demon. Muse had never considered herself a demon, in fact, she had never even heard of the term up until a few hours ago but it sounded dreadful.

Muse awoke between scratchy white sheets and to the droning of a radio. An emerald eye poked out between an eyelid, dark black lashes framing the orb. Slowly the other opened, adjusting to the light and sounds of what appeared to be an infirmary. Muse sat up on the creaky mattress, the shift in weight causing the frame to squeak and shiver. A slight shake passed through Muses's body at the frigid temperature of the room. Her clothing, the ones Muse had hand sewn from leaves and flowers had been replaced by a dark blue shirt and black A-line skirt. Her ena had been re-hydrated as well; she must have been crying out in pain in her sleep.

Muse kicked the blankets off and swung her legs over the side of the bed, attempting to stretch her wings through the shirt. She pulled the covering off and put the piece in her mouth, tearing holes in the cloth before putting it back on and allowing her ailerons to poke through. "Much better," Muse mumbled and tested her balance on the cold-tiled floor. She was a bit shaky, but otherwise okay. Suddenly, the curtains parted and a woman carrying a tray of steaming food entered the sectioned off area. It was only then that Muse realized her ankles were still shackled and that she wouldn't have gotten far because the shackles were attached to the bed. "Good morning sleeping beauty!" The woman in the nurses's outfit chirped and set the tray on a table. She cornered Muse, forcing her back onto the mattress and doing something weird with her wrist. "Don't move so much, I'm just checking your pulse." The nurse explained and stood upright once more.

Muse eyed the tray longingly, her stomach growling with the ferocity of a mother lion defending her cubs. The nurse laughed and pushed it closer, motioning for Muse to go ahead. The creature picked up the fork and stabbed it through a piece of meat, sniffing it hesitantly before deciding that it was safe and wolfing the meal down. When Muse was finished she wiped her mouth on the back of her arm and picked up the cup of water, taking a few sips and pouring the rest over her head. "You must have a lot of questions. Let me start at the beginning; you were brought here, to the Survival Kit Academy, because you've done something in the past and need to learn to better cooperate with the humans." Muse looked up at the nurse and narrowed her eyes. She had done nothing to deserve this; all of those humans Muse had drowned had it coming. It was their fault for invading her territory. "Where is the exit? I wish to leave."

"Oh you can't leave, not without the headmaster's permission."

"Alright, I wish to speak to this headmaster then. Where is he?" The nurse explained that Muse couldn't simply barge in, she had to request an audience with his secretary beforehand and whether it would be permitted or not was up to Midora. Muse was convinced that there had to be some kind of mistake; she was a good familiar. There was no reason for her to be here! The nurse explained a few more things, like the fact that Muse couldn't take any lives while she was here and that there were rules before she undid the chains around Muse's ankles and covered the raw skin in some sort of minty scented salve, then sent the beast on her way.

Muse walked along the hallways, attempting to figure out the map. She did not know how to read or write and so the text beside the pictures did little to smooth the wrinkles in her brow. "What do these words means!" Muse crumpled up the paper into a ball and tossed it into one of the nearby rubbish bins. She rubbed her temples, closing her eyes momentarily and running right into another demon. Muse landed on her butt, striped panties on full display for a split second before she scrambled to her feet, her wings flitting nervously but not fast enough to fly. "I-I'm sorry!" Muse said quickly and bowed to the green-haired figure, hoping that she hadn't hurt him. "Are you alright? I didn't hurt you did I?"

“Pick one of the places we haven't drawn in… The reason they're still empty is because we weren't able to enter so easily just yet... Suppose anything off-limits should at least be a little interesting.” Hive said as Bugby then looked to the map. Shoving his hands into his pockets the boy stared with a blank expression at the various areas as of yet unexplored. “Off-limits, eh? I guess any place that we ain’t allowed in would be interesting to explore," The feline had a point, and he could already guess her intentions through her words. As Cleo stood up, the boy leaned in a little closer to get a better look now that the cat-girl wasn't so much in the way. “I’m gonna go visit one of those areas we haven’t been to yet and see what I find. Might be weapons kept down there, or hidden monsters, or something even better!" Bugby doubted it, or at least neither of the students would find such things so easily. The headmaster wouldn't just allow something like that to happen, though there was always a slim chance. ”You'd be lucky.” The demon wasn't entirely sure where exactly the girl had been looking on the map, but she seemed to have a good idea as she began heading for the door before glancing back to the boys. “Coming Bugby?"

”Sure, I guess.” He guessed he'd tag along, it was no use letting Cleo go off on her own or else she might very well get herself into some serious trouble. ”Wait up, Cleo.” The girl was already out the door before he'd even taken a step, which was very typical of the girl. With a sigh he turned to follow, but that was when he felt a force from behind him that caused the demon to stumbled to the floor. Grumbling something or another, he pushed himself upwards and got back onto his feet shortly after. ”Why don't you watch where you're going.” He remarked sharply, raising a hand up to rub the side of his face that had gotten thrown against the floor before turning round to face whoever knocked him over. "I-I'm sorry!" The girl said and offered a bow, quickly causing the boy to drop his unamused glare, and instead show a much more surprised expression with a faint tint of red spreading across his face. "Are you alright? I didn't hurt you did I?"

”Uh, n-no. You didn't hurt me.” He reassured her, before looking the girl over briefly to see if she looked familiar though it seemed the girl was a stranger to him. ”I-I'm fine, really. I was actually... just leaving.” The demon pointed to the door he planned to leave through, looking to it momentarily before his eyes fell onto the girl once more. ”Do you know where you're going?” Bugby asked, fiddling awkwardly with the ends of his sleeve as he was a little unsure of what to do with himself at that moment. ”W-We're actually going to explore the academy a little, so you can come with us... if you want.” Though not normally offering such invites, the demon was showing a little more effort in his approach to others just like his teammates did. ”Only if you want to... and my names Bugby by the way.”

Regardless of her answer and if she followed, Bugby knew he had to catch up with Cleo and make sure the girl wasn't too far ahead. With that, he gave the girl a slight bow in return before taking his leave and heading for the door. Shooting a glance over his shoulder, he gave the girl one last look, as well as Hive and Ichiro, before walking out into the hallway. He noticed Cleo up-ahead standing with that red-haired demon. ”Hold up for a moment.” He called up to the girl, before eventually making his way beside her. Bugby then looked to the redhead briefly.

”So your that demon.” He questioned, raising a brow as he looked the boy over. The redhead made him feel a little uneasy, and yet Cleo seemed perfectly fine in his company. So maybe he wasn't so bad? Bugby was still a little cautious towards him either way. ”Who's your friend, Cleo?”

Muse frowned when he growled at her to watch where she was going. Well she had been, but then she closed her eyes for one second... His hostility quickly melted into frustration and honestly it was kind of cute watching him fidget as he responded to her question. ”Uh, n-no. You didn't hurt me. I-I'm fine, really. I was actually... just leaving.” She sighed in relief and smiled, "Oh good, I was worried for a minute you were injured." Muse replied to the green haired boy.

”Do you know where you're going?” Muse shook her head, her pink flower clip coming loose. She caught it before it could fall and clipped it back into her periwinkle hair. Muse had no idea where she was going or which part of the school she was even in. "No, but I was really just wandering around." She replied and bounced on her heels, her bare feet were cold on the tiled floor. ”W-We're actually going to explore the academy a little, so you can come with us... if you want.” Who was us? Muse wondered seeing as there was only him, but regardless her eyes widened at the offer, she hadn't expected to encounter such friendly demons!

”Only if you want to... and my names Bugby by the way.” Muse nodded her head and followed him. "I would very much like to join you. My name is Muse." Her wings fluttered a bit in excitement, something they did reflexively. She could control them, she could fly with them if she wanted to, but occasionally Muses's wings acted much like a dogs tail; with a mind of their own. She walked behind Bugby, wondering who had given him such a unique name. Muse stopped short when he halted in his footsteps as they seemed to have caught up to the us Bugby had referred to before.

A cat demon and a redheaded incubus stood before them, one grinning like a shark the other's tail swishing wildly. Muse suddenly felt shy and her wings stopped moving as she listened to Bugby address the redhead, then the cat demon whose name was apparently Cleo. Should she speak up? Muse wondered and decided she would wait for the other two to introduce themselves as it would be rude to simply interrupt their conversation.

”So your that demon.” The green-haired boy addressed the other demon, causing Ruzik to sigh a little as he crossed his arms. ”My name is Ruzik – not ’you're that demon’. He corrected, before unfolding his arms and resting them his hips. Cleo merely smiled, shifting her gaze between Ruzik and Bugby at that moment.

“Ruzik, this is Bugby he’s a friend of mine and he’s a part of my group." She informed the redhead, and then looked to her teammate, “This is Ruzik he just arrived here. I thought he could tag-along with us whilst we wander about, that ok?" It was only then that the feline noticed a girl behind Bugby, stepping forward and nudging the boy to the side a little, as she eyed up the other demon curiously.

“So who’s your friend?" She asked with a giggle, before smiling to the fairy-girl. “My names Cleo, it’s nice to meet you." Leaning closer the girl purred quietly and studied the fairy-girl briefly, somewhat intrigued by her appearance before leaning back and straightening herself upright. “What sort of demon are you? If you don’t mind me asking – you’re very pretty, I’m a little jealous." Cleo turned to face Bugby a moment later, grinning mischievously as she leaned up against the boy and amusingly poked his chest and purred wickedly with a sudden smirk. “Yo, Buggie. Your girlfriend is super cute, how’d you snag her? I leave you for a moment and look what happens." She teased a little, enjoying messing with her teammate. She knew he'd likely get her back for it, if not now then back in the dorms later.

Ruzik had opted to lean against the wall for the last few moments, tapping a finger boredly again his arm as he watched the three. Even still, he wasn't entirely sure if he wanted friends. It wasn't his sort of deal, but these demons seemed nice enough - he guessed, and he just wanted to have some fun so they'd have to do. ”Well, this is nice and all but lets keep moving.” Leaning off the wall the redhead began walking long down the hallway as he sort-of lead the way.

“Oi, sharky! Wait up." Cleo called, before spinning round and grabbing the hand of the fairy-girl. “Looks like your stuck with us now, so welcome to the group!" She purred happily, before nabbing the end of Bugby's cloak and yanked the demon along too with her other hand. “Looks like we're going now!"

”Nice to meet you, Ruzik.” The demon replied in an effort to be polite to the redhead, before his attention was redirected to the feline. So, their group was expanding even more? It seemed they had aquired quite a team for their little wander. “So who’s your friend?" Cleo asked as she moved him to the side a little to inspect the girl behind him. ”This is Muse.” He explained simply, stepping to the side to allow the pair to aquaint themselves. As expected Cleo was quite keen on the girl, she was apparently friendly to everyone she met, a quality that peeked the boys interest a little. ”I bumped into her at the cafeteria just after you left.” He couldn't help but notice the odd behaviour of the feline as she grinned at him, in moments leaning against him as she smirked at the boy. Bugby merely raised a brow and looked to the girl with a confused stare.

“Yo, Buggie. Your girlfriend is super cute, how’d you snag her? I leave you for a moment and look what happens." The demon nearly flinched a little to her words, his eyes widening and then quickly narrowing with a rather displeased look. ”I-It's not like that, w-we just met like I said, w-weren't you listening?” He could feel his face burning red yet again when the feline questioned him, causing the boy to feel ever-so-slightly uncomfortable. Why did the feline enjoy doing this? Gaining control of himself Bugby quickly stepped back from the demon and took a breath, mentalling opting to get the feline back later on when she'd least expect it. He gave her a knowing look to confirm this, ”D-Don't just go jumping to conclusions, that's just silliness Cleo.” He doubted the girl took any of what he said in, mostly likely going in one ear and out the other. ”... Anyway.”

”Well, this is nice and all but lets keep moving.” He watched as Ruzik began walking off, almost sighing with relief to the change in subject. Though quickly he felt Cleo grabbing the ends of his coat, as she pulled both him and Muse along. ”C-Cleo I can walk fine on my own!” Regardless of what he said the feline never paid any attention.

It seems that Muse did not need to introduce herself after all as Bugby quickly interjected with her name. “What sort of demon are you? If you don’t mind me asking – you’re very pretty, I’m a little jealous." Muse smiled, enjoying the compliment. She was not one to grow flustered by such comments as normally Muse was the one spewing them. "I'm a melusine," Muse replied unabashedly. "And thank you, but there's no need to be jealous as you're quite adorable yourself." She was tempted to reach out and pat the cat-demon's head but decided against it as she did not want to invade Cleo's personal space although the cat seemed to have no problem with rubbing up against people.

“Yo, Buggie. Your girlfriend is super cute, how’d you snag her? I leave you for a moment and look what happens." Girlfriend? Another unfamiliar term although it seemed to make Bugby turn red. She looked between the two and wondered how they were so familiar if this was supposed to be their first day. Unless it really wasn't and Muse was late? Or maybe they were friends before being dragged to this academy? "What's a girlfriend?" Muse decided to inquire at the same time Bugby said, ”D-Don't just go jumping to conclusions, that's just silliness Cleo.” Perhaps it was a negative connotation? Or gasp! a mistress! Was Cleo implying that Muse was a hooker? ”... Anyway.”

”Well, this is nice and all but lets keep moving.” The shark incubus said and began to walk. Muses's hand was grabbed by Cleo and she stumbled along behind the cat demon, nearly bumping into Bugby again. "Um, you don't need to pull me, I can follow along on my own." She also didn't want the oil from Cleo's fingers drying out her ena although there was no way to express this without sounding rude or having to explain her second layer of skin that made it look like she was sparkling.

Muse managed to get her wrist loose and followed beside them this time, looking around at everything they passed. "So are you teammates?" Muse asked, walking quickly in order to keep up with Cleo's brisk speed. Were they in a hurry to get somewhere? Bugby had said they were simply exploring.

"Um, you don't need to pull me, I can follow along on my own." Cleo could feel the girl slipping out of her grasp and immediately turned her head to look at Muse. Had she done something wrong? Perhaps the cat was a little too clingy. “Oh, I'm sorry - sometimes I get a little too excited. If that annoys you then just feel free to tell me to knock it off, alright?" She didn't want them falling out already, so the feline would just need to learn to not be as forwarding - though now and again surely wouldn't hurt? Cleo decided she'd refrain from pulling the girl for now, and merely save that for every other poor soul she came across, oh yes.

"So are you teammates? Flicking her ears back and forth, the girl thought for a moment before giving a nod. “Yep, me and Bugby are, we're Group 3." She said, slowing down her walking pace just a little to allow others to travel with a little more ease. “You missed class this morning, you should have seen it. Each pair of demons had to fight a monster, or in our case three. Man it was crazy." The girl must have been similar to Ruzik, since both demons had missed their first class, so it only made sense to assume Muse had just arrived not long ago too. Just thinking of that reminded Cleo of something just then.

“So what brings you to this academy, Muse? What did they bring you in for?" She asked with visible curiosity. True, it did cross her mind as to why some of the students ended up at the academy, especially since many of them were meant to be bad, and yet so far she had managed to get along with so many. Tilting her head a moment later towards Bugby she also asked, “You too, what did you do that made them bring you here, Bugby?" He didn't seem as bad as some of the students, and Cleo wondered what could have caused the boy to end up at the academy. Why did the mages think to drag him here?

Ruzik couldn't help but overhear the conversations between the three demons, and whilst doing so also gradually slowed his pace down before being within a comfortable range to the group. Cleo had noticed this, motioning for the redhead to come closer to the group, which he grudgingly did. “Say, you just arrived here too, right? So what did the mages bring you here for exactly?" The feline asked and looked to the boy. Surely he wasn't that bad?

”I kill people and eat their hearts, apparently that is a bad thing.” The redhead replied in a matter-of-fact tone, appearing un-bothered by his words as if it were nothing. ”They set a trap and I fell for it, needless to say that is why I am here. They got lucky but now I am stuck here, unable to kill and consume hearts as I use to.’” Clearly irked by this fact the demon seemed a little saddened, if not slightly angered. He wanted hearts, but they wouldn't let him. Sure, he did not crave just now, but a pill was hardly a permanent replacement. His stomach knew when it was being betrayed, and it wasn't happy about it either.

“R-Ruzik?" Cleo questioned, having taken a few steps back from the redhead the moment he had mentioned the words 'kill', 'eat' and 'hearts'. What was that all about? Ruzik seemed so calm and content when talking about it, but how could anyone be happy about that? The feline didn't know quite how to interpret the new information. However the redhead seemed to be in a slight trance for a few moments, appearing in deep thought, as Cleo shifted closer to Bugby and Muse. “You ok?"

”No I'm not ok! I'm stuck in this hell-hole and I can't do anything about?!” He snapped, if not growled at the trio of demons. ”Worst yet I'm stuck here trying to play along with all of you, but it's just not natural! I can't comply like this, not so easily at least!” He felt a sudden sharp twinge in the pit of his stomach as his emotions erupted, causing the demon to forcefully calm himself and take a deep breath. His head felt like it was spinning a little, his outburst only causing him to feel worse. ”I-I'm going to the infirmary, I don't feel well... and I can at least nag at that mage or what's-her-name.” He took his leave immediately as he barged through the three demons and headed back up the hallway, cursing and grumbling as he did so, as flocks of students scrambled out of the demons ways.

“Ehh... ah, well... that was weird, like seriously weird." Blinking, she looked to the other two demons with a look of both confusion and worry. “Remind me to never get on his bad side, or any side, since I really don't want to lose my heart..." She placed both hands over where she thought her heart was, feeling a sense if uneasiness as the other demon left. Was he a threat? Cleo wasn't sure. Turning, she continued walking down the hallway, hoping something would interest the group soon.

“So... are you two as bad as that guy?" She asked, realizing they never really had a proper chance to answer before Ruzik's little moment, though she sort-of regretted asking now. It was a little scary to think that demons like that were here, considering Cleo wasn't exactly a bad demon really. She was just a pet after all.

Bugby listened as Cleo spoke to Muse, explaining what had happened in class earlier and what the girl had missed. Their first class at the academy had certainly been an experience, the demon hadn't expected them to be put against some monster, let alone three as their group had. Bugby couldn't really remember the last time he had to face a monster of any sort, but he guessed he'd have to learn to adjust. Cleo then asked about the demons origins and what it was that lead to him being brought to the academy. From what he could assume, many demons at the academy had horrible experiences when arriving, mainly in the fact that most times mages had to be sent and force the demons to the school. Though that wasn't exactly the case for Bugby.

Neither Muse of himself got a chance so answer as the red-haired demon spoke up moments after, however what he said exactly wasn't overly comforting. ”I kill people and eat their hearts, apparently that is a bad thing.” Ruzik spoke of killing surprisingly casually, he was clearly very well accustomed to doing so, as the demon even seemed somewhat disappointed that he could no longer continuing his wicked ways. Bugby knew the redhead was iffy, but now it only confirmed how untrustworthy Ruzik was. Who could trust a demon that was addicted to hearts, or at least that was the impression he gave.

He had noticed Cleo edging closer towards him and Muse, and he couldn't blame her. Once close enough, he reached over and held on the end of her top, pulling the feline closer. The redhead went on to have some sort of outburst, he could understand demons that weren’t happy to be there but Ruzik seemed extremely distressed over it. But it was short-lived, and Ruzik appeared to be a little calmer. ”I-I'm going to the infirmary, I don't feel well... and I can at least nag at that mage or what's-her-name.” Well, at least he had some sense. Given the odd behavior of the redhead it wasn’t surprising that he should go to the infirmity, as something seemed a bit off with Ruzik. He marched off almost instantly, as he barged through the small group and headed off back up the hallway.

“Ehh... ah, well... that was weird, like seriously weird." Bugby looked to the feline as she spoke, before giving a nod. ”That was certainly uncomfortable. But it also shows you shouldn't trust every demon you meet.” He sighed, though feeling a bit of relief as the redhead was elsewhere, probably causing trouble for someone else right about then. As Cleo began walking, Bugby followed as they resumed their little wander. “So... are you two as bad as that guy?" The girl suddenly asked, surprising the boy a little. Did she think he or Muse were like Ruzik? Well, he couldn’t be sure about Muse, though she seemed nice enough, and he certainly wasn’t some heart-crazed demon.

”I’m no-where near his league, if that answers your question.” He replied, before his gaze dropped to the ground momentarily. Bugby wasn’t a terrible demon, and he didn’t believe he deserved to be at the academy. Sure, he had been troublesome in his youth, but he was not as bad now, or so he believed. ”The mages didn’t bring me here, my parents actually brought me here personally. They wanted me to behave better, appreciate things more.” He couldn’t help but despise his parents a little for leaving him here. He was the son of two high-ranking demons and had a pretty comfortable upbringing, but now he was ‘slumming’ it at the academy. ”Originally I was actually working under a mage as a form of punishment, but then they heard of this Academy and thought it best to place me here. I can't return home until I'm a 'reformed' demon as my parents said.”

The only good thing about being at the academy was the freedom he gained from his parents. Plus, his team wasn't entirely awful either, and some of the students were quite nice. He supposed he'd learn to bare it for now. He then looked to Muse, ”So what did bring you here, Muse?”

So Muse had missed the first lesson? Did that mean her teammate had to fight a monster alone? She had not only missed the opportunity to fight a beast, but would not get to see the potential her team had and whether or not they were compatible in battle. Muse had also missed out on the other fights so she had no idea what types of abilities the other demons possessed. Suddenly the redhead spoke up and Muse turned her attention towards him as he went on a tirade about how he was being oppressed by the mages and could no longer enjoy himself now that he couldn't rip hearts out. She was a bit perturbed by this, although Muse didn't say anything because she truly wasn't any better.

Ruzik stormed off to the nurse's office then and there was an audible sigh of relief and ease of tension from Bugby and Cleo. What sort of reaction would they have when Muse told them she was in here for killing humans as well? Although the ones she had drowned had deserved it. Melusine were almost like sirens, only they did not eat souls and only drowned men who were lusty or got too close to their home. “So... are you two as bad as that guy?" Muse shook her head no, her flower clip coming loose once more. She unfastened it and replaced it in her hair, allowing Bugby to answer first.

How awful that his parents had dragged him here! No child should feel as though their parents were against them. Muse did not know the people who gave birth to her, but the one who had summoned her was a mage named Wilson that had been like a father who had shown Muse the potential of humanity. Then Wilson died and Thomas took over and her faith in humans had dissipated. ”So what did bring you here, Muse?” The Melusine fidgeted for a minute, wondering if she should tell them the truth or make something up. No, nothing good ever came from lying; it would be best to explain herself.

"Well.... I killed a few people, but not innocent people!" She could feel her heart rate climbing and Muse's wings began to flutter with nervousness. She had just made these friends, Muse didn't want to lose them so quickly. "You see, my mage, he was evil so I killed him to escape and then when I joined the other melusine; well our job was to drown men who committed grievances against others." Muse had killed a few innocent humans though, which is most likely why she had been brought here, but everything she did was to survive.

Without realizing it Muse had grabbed the ends of her borrowed shirt and was twisting the cloth in her hands, stretching out the article that had most likely been in the lost and found before being handed down to her. "I guess they brought me here because of that... heh, heh." There was no humor in her laugh, it was rather awkward and despite her smile, Muse was blushing furiously. If they didn't want her to hang around them anymore she would understand.

"Well, it seems many of the demons here are powerful, some of the mages as well. That said, I don't find it very likely we'll be put up against the other groups, at least not as part of normal schooling here, avoiding conflicts altogether may not be possible however. I believe our advantage lies in victory outside of a straight up battle, though if a battle is inevitable we should be ready to work and fight together." Kou nodded her head as she listened to Hanako speak, she frowned at what the mage said about them not being able to fight each other. Kou had been looking forward to a friendly battle between teams.

They arrived at the Headmaster's office rather quickly and her heart rate picked up a bit. Kou wondered if he could sense her hatred of him and tried to suppress any unwanted feelings as well as quell any thoughts in case he was a mind reader. Kou had sensed a very powerful aura coming off of him and what type of magic he possessed was beyond her. "Why does he want to talk to you?" Kou asked as Hanako knocked.

Cleo was quite surprised when hearing that it was his parents who had brought Bugby here. Did they dislike him that much? Or was there some other reason? She couldn’t guess how the boy must’ve felt when they left him at the academy, especially when she couldn’t even remember her own parents. “That must’ve sucked Bugby," She said and offered him a smile. “I don’t really know what it’s like to have parents, I don’t think many demons do actually. I guess your sort of lucky in that sense, or well, maybe not…" Was he lucky? His parents left him here, so maybe he wasn’t.

When Muse spoke up the feline turned round quickly, seeming surprised. The girl had killed others too? Cleo felt uneasy just then, similar with Ruzik, it greatly surprised her that some of her fellow students had killed. Cleo wasn’t much of a killer, and she didn’t intend to set out to murder others. It was only of recently that she had killed a mage or two, in self-defense, though if she wanted to kill someone she could very likely do it with ease.

The feline then watched as the other demon began to twist the ends of her skirt, was she nervous? Oddly enough, she didn’t feel as threatened by muse as she had been by Ruzik. Whereas the redhead took pleasure in killing the innocent, Cleo felt that Muse could justify her own murders. “So the people you killed deserved it?" She asked, lowering her ears just a little. It was never fun talking about death, it was actually quite a downer for conversations, so Cleo figured she would drop the matter for now. “Well, if your mage was evil then I can’t blame you, Muse. You seem pretty alright to me, and I’d really hate to end our friendship over something that happened in the past, and doesn’t even involve me." Looking to both Bugby and Muse, the feline smiled and began to purr. “I think you both are great demons and I want us to keep exploring together."

Spinning round the girl skipped a little, moving onward as her long hair flowing behind her. “I was actually a pet to an old mage, her name was Rosette and she took good care of me. Though she passed away some time ago and I was left on my own for bit," She said and then came to a stop, waiting for the other two to catch up before continuing walking. “I got brought here along with my friend Hive, some mages attacked us and here we are. I had never killed anyone before that, but I guess they felt it was best to keep me here."

Shortly after, Cleo found a room with its door slightly open. Peering in eagerly, she noticed it was quite a small room that only a handful of people could fit in. Perhaps it was for storage? She figured once seeing a bunch of staffs sat on a rack against the wall. Squeezing in and taking hold of one, Cleo remembered she had never used one before although she had seen mages use them all the time. “I wonder what this thing does." She said, before swinging the magical weapon and then stepping out of the small room. “You guys know what this thing does?" The feline asked the other two demons, before taking a step back from them and holding the staff out in front of her.

Gripping the staff tightly she swung her arms back and then threw them forward as a burst of light zapped from the tip of the staff, a bolt of light traveling down to the other end of the hallway before fading away into nothing. “Cool!" Cleo giggled, until feeling an odd burning sensation around her hands which caused her to drop the staff suddenly. Whining quietly, she flipped her hands round to inspect them and noticed her palms were burnt a little as well as the tips of her fingers. What had caused it? Could the demon not use staffs? Rubbing her hands against the sides of her top the feline frowned a little. “So not cool."

Ruzik R.

It was a short time later as Ruzik found himself in the infirmary yet again, laying on a bed with one leg crossed over the other and his hands tucked comfortably behind his head. The infirmary was becoming a constant feature in his life thus far, and the ever pleasant mage that treated him.

“You know this isn’t a hotel that you can just pop in and out of,” The familiar looking woman remarked as she stood beside the redhead on the bed, clipboard in hand, as she raised a brow to the demon. “So what’s wrong this time?”

”Everything. Those pills are screwing with my insides, my lame supervising mage gives me riddles instead of answers – and I’m stuck in here with you.” He looked to the woman with a rather serious gaze, un-amused as always as he then quickly looked away. ”What if I took all those pills? Would I be permanently cured of my hunger?” It was an interesting thought, though the demon didn’t wish to be cured of his hunger, not at all. He had been born that way and liked it, but seemingly everyone else had an issue with it. ”Or would it kill me?”

“Those pills won’t kill you whether you consume one or all of them at once, but taking all of them would cause damage to your insides and your hunger, as well as any other urges you feel,” She answered, jotting down a few notes. “I wouldn’t recommend it, unless you want to feel worse than you already do.” Setting her clipboard aside, the woman sat herself down on the end of the bed and turned to face the redhead. “Your supervising mage only wants to make you a better demon, and ensure you obtain a better way of life after leaving this academy. For someone like you Ruzik, surely killing people and eating their hearts isn’t the only meaningful thing in your life, is it? You have to find another purpose to exist and reform yourself, you will be glad of it in time, maybe not now, but one day.”

”But it’s what I do.” He said with a sigh. Being born without his parents to guide him, Ruzik was quite literally a little monster growing up in the world. If it wasn’t for the mage who found him and took him in, he might have turned out even worse. ”I didn’t always kill. There was a mage who looked after me as a child, he gave me animal hearts instead to ensure I wouldn’t end up a killer. It was alright for a few years but then I wanted more,” Lowering his gaze, Ruzik thought quietly for a moment or so as he remembered the mage who raised him. Though a mage, he was still the only thing Ruzik had for a father. ”One night I went out and killed a little girl. I snuck out you see, as my father never let me out. I was so hungry I murdered her without thinking, and when I returned home father knew right away what I had done and threw me out. Not even saying a word he abandoned me that night.”

Perhaps Ruzik ought to have learned from that. If his own father wouldn’t accept his killings maybe he should have changed his ways? But no. Ruzik went on to kill more and more people and gradually began to forget about his father. ”Anyway, while I’m here I thought you could help get rid of this feeling I have.” Sitting up, he leaned in closely to the woman and ran a finger up her arm teasingly. The woman had been so caught-up in his little story that she hadn’t realized how close the demon really was, as he scooted beside her and rested his chin against her shoulder. ”I was thinking we could ha--”

The woman flinched and tried to move back, but Ruzik grabbed her hands and held them close to him as he pulled the woman back to his side, and pressed his nose against hers with a wicked grin. Wriggling around she tried to break his hold, but the woman was taken aback by his sudden forwardness, as Ruzik attempted to kiss her.

“Not on your life!” Breaking free from his grasp and grabbing her clipboard she smacked the demon on the head, though not too hard, it did serve its purpose as Ruzik shifted away from the woman. “Keep your hands were I can see them, demon. This is an infirmary not a… well… that sort of place.” Getting off the bed, the woman took a step back and watched the boy carefully.

Ruzik grumbled something or another, as he sat away from the woman and rubbed his head. ”Your lose.” He smirked, dropping his hands to his sides as he then swung his legs over the edge of the bed. It was only then that the demon acknowledged the weird feeling inside of him, so much so that a streak of red swept across his face – nearly as red as his own hair! He knew what the feeling was, it was quite normal actually, though only more powerful this time around. But why? Ruzik tried to suppress this sudden urge, desperately wishing his hunger for hearts would return and consume his mind. But alas it wouldn’t, and he just needed to find someone to ease him. ”I guess I’ll be leav--.”

“Oh no, you’re not going anywhere. You think I’m just going to let you wander around harassing the other students? Think again. Besides you’ll probably only end up back here anyway, so I think it is best I send you off with someone. Now, who can I call to come and collect you?” She asked, but the demon glanced away and kept silent. “Come on, you know I’ll only get someone much worse than you can imagine.” The woman challenged with a daring look, which prompted the demon to finally face her. “So?”

Ruziked sighed and threw his head back a little. ”Fine, Mikari what’s-his-name. He owes me an explanation and I want to know something, so fetch him. I don’t care if he’s busy just do it.” Nodding, the woman spun round and walked over to a nearby desk. Picking up the phone she called one of her colleagues. “Yes, please inform Mikari Akigawa that he is wanted at the infirmary. Tell him one of his students is here,” Pausing for a moment the woman could feel her cheeks burning just a little as she continued, “And please warn him that the student is a little… frisker than usual.” Putting the phone down the woman turned to face the demon, before raising her hands and covered her slightly warmer-than-normal cheeks.

Ruzik just smirked with a content sigh. ”So is he coming?”

“Yes.” She narrowed her eyes and promptly looked away. “A-Any minute now... I hope.”

Bugby listend as Muse then spoke. He was a bit surprsied that such a sweet looking girl could have been capable of killing, though then again she was a demon after all so it was to be expected at some point. Though Muse did say she didn't hurt those who were innocent, so perhaps she wasn't that bad. Bugby didn't feel as uneasy around Muse as he had done with Ruzik, so that was something at least. He really didn't like the thought of dumping the girls company for something like that, at least Muse did seem more convincing compared to the redhead demon before.

Cleo spoke up then saying how she still wanted to hang around with both of the demons. Bugby agreed, even smiling just a little. ”Yeah, as long as we don't end up killing each other I think we can get along just fine.” An attempt at humour perhaps, though it wasn't really the demons strong point. It surprised him a little to hear that Cleo was a pet to a mage, and yet still she seemed to be quite fond of them all the same. Apparently she had a good mage who looked after her, something of a rarity he thought. A minute or so later Cleo wandered into a room of some sort and then reappeared shortly after holding a staff.

“You guys know what this thing does?" She asked, but Bugby merely shrugged his shoulders. It was hard to tell by looking what a staff was capable of, but either way it wasn't a good idea to go messing with one carelessly. ”Cleo I wouldn't go swinging that thing around you don't know what will happen.” He advised thought likely to deaf ears. The demon stood and watched as the feline did just that, a burst of light fleeing the staff as it travelled down the hallway. Whilst watching he heard a light thud, and once refocusing his attention onto the girl he noticed Cleo had dropped the staff and was looking to her hands.

Bugby couldn't help but let out a quiet 'tsk'. Walking over he picked up the staff and held it in his hands with relative ease. Glancing to the side he noticed the slight burn marks that stained the felines hands. ”Told you.” He held the staff in both hands and kept it out of the reach of the girl, which was probably a good thing. ”You can't just wield a staff. It could have a curse placed on it, or might react badly to a demon using it, which clearly is the case.” He said in a rather mater-of-face tone, as if he knew better.

Bugby didn't show to have any difficulties in wielding the staff. He was well accustomed to using staffs due to his ability to mimic, which was also effective on mages and thus enabled him to do so. Perhaps he had developed an immunity to staffs, or at least wasn't as badly hurt by them when wielding the weapon. Flipping the staff round, he poked the tip of it into the side of Cleo, somewhat amusingly. ”Maybe now you'll learn your lesson.” He took the staff and returned it to the room it had been taken from, placing it carefully back onto the rack before exiting the room and closing the door. ”Maybe we should avoid the rooms containing weapons. I don't really fancy being sent to the Headmasters office just yet, espeically as he's our supervising teacher. He'd only punish us more.”

Bugby still couldn't quite believe their group had gotten stuck with the Headmaster overseeing their group. Things were already hard enough never mind having that guy watching them. Turning round he continued walking on down the hallway, until stopping at another room further down and peering in through the door.

Muse let go of her wrinkled skirt as Cleo asked her question. “So the people you killed deserved it?" Slowly Muse nodded her head, she had never killed anyone that didn't have it coming. "Only the bad ones," relief swelled in her chest at the fact that she hadn't just lost her new friends and excitement began to replace it as Cleo declared that she wanted to keep exploring with them. It was then that Cleo announced that she had been a pet to a mage and honestly, Muse wasn't surprised. The cat-demon's mannerisms were very much like that of a domesticated animal.

Suddenly Cleo disappeared into a tiny secret room and came out with a staff that looked a bit dangerous. "Maybe you should put that back," Muse suggested as Cleo swung the staff around and promptly stung herself then dropped the stick, causing Bugby to pick it up and show off his staff-wielding abilities before sticking it back in the room it came from and moving along. Muse followed suite, wondering what awaited them in the next room. She peered in through the door behind the green haired demon and gawked at the sheer size of the space, her mind coming up blank as to what it was used for.

Clearly this was no classroom as there were no desks, chairs, or even whiteboards; however there were floor to ceiling windows and a wooden floor that was much easier to walk on then the tile in the hallway. The light fixtures were fancy as well and there was a mirror replacing one of the walls. Was this some sort of ballroom? Muse wondered and stepped inside, trying to think what a school would do with such a space. Her mind recalled a different place and time and Muse began to twirl around, loving the sound of her feet against the hardwood floors. It wasn't that they were loud or made an unusual noise, it's that it reminded her of her home in Europe.

Muse stopped twirling and returned her arms to her sides when she realized what she was doing, her face flushed red and her wings drooped a bit. "Sorry, I didn't mean to push my way in." Muse apologized to Bugby and crossed the room, returning to the door. There wasn't really anything impressive in the room, it was simply the sheer size of the space that excited her. "Ready to move on?" She asked the two, wondering what wonders awaited them behind the other doors.

Hive

Bugby picked a spot and Cleo eagerly took him in tow. Hive hadn't expected any different from her, Cleo was hard to keep up with no matter how used one had become to it. Ichiro waved her off, letting Hive know there were some more things the mage wanted to say to him. As such, another ladybird spawned from Hive's skin and landed on Bugby's shoulder, so that they would be easy to find should Ichiro take his time.

“Asking us for favours already?” Hive made the choice to twist these words deliberately. He shook his head and mirrored Ichiro's smirk. “We suppose you may follow us.”

After hearing what the mage had to say. Ichiro's words felt like he was trying to exert dominance already, reminding Hive of a younger Ervin. Not that he'd known his previous master at Ichiro's age, but it would always bother Ervin when Hive's words dismissed his authority. Curiosity tickled the demon, as he wondered about what reaction that could provoke from Ichiro.

Although it would be impossible to tell, Hive did indeed show his power as he lead the way. Following the senses of the ladybird he had dispatched earlier. Bugby, at the very least, wasn't too far away. He was able to pinpoint his direction and as if he'd been strolling the path to it for years, Hive soon found himself in the doorway of a particularly large room. The ladybird that had hidden itself in Bugby's collar floated a return to Hive's finger tip; where it fused into his skin. Hive glanced at Ichiro, to see if the mage could make sense of Hive's impeccable sense of direction.

“We certainly hope you didn't run away just to have us replaced.” Hive jested, announcing his arrival. His attention was drawn to the third member besides Cleo and Bugby. A demon, Hive quickly deduced from the wings on her back. “We are Hive.” He introduced himself shortly to Muse, allowing Ichiro to take care of his own introductions.

“Were planning you to move on already? Did you not notice something odd about this room?” Hive suggested. He'd heard the last bits of their conversation, but he wouldn't want to leave just yet. He stepped inside the large room, squatting in the middle of it. On his map, there'd been a question mark in this room. The strange thing about it was that last night, his scouting bugs hadn't been able to pass the woodwork. Even though they had been able to squeeze through openings, none of his insects could pass underground. From the outside, there clearly was a barrier preventing them from going under the room as well. This lead Hive to believe there had to be something below...

The demon knocked on wood, hoping to hear an echo, but it didn't seem any different from a normal wooden floor. Of course, Hive thought, it wouldn't be so easy, but then he pulled back his fist and threw a stone-shattering punch at the wooden floor. Vibrations spread throughout the room, causing even the mirror in the back to shift and shake. However, where Hive's fist had landed, there didn't seem to be any damage.

“We would consider this odd... Why would a floor be indestructible? We wonder. Would anyone-” Hive smirked like an imp, knowing now for sure they had stumbled upon something mysterious. “Care to find out?”

“We certainly hope you didn't run away just to have us replaced.” Cleo turned her head a little away from Muse and Bugby as she heard the familiar voice of Hive. Seeing the demon brought a wide smile to her face as the feline spun round to greet him. “Geez, I thought you’d never catch up." She said with a giggle, quickly wrapping her arms round the demon in a brief hug – well it had been a while since she’d hugged someone, and just seeing Hive again was as good a reason as any! Letting him go, the girl noticed an equally familiar looking mage trail up behind shortly after and immediately hurried over to meet the boy.

“Ichiro! Man, you’re slow." Cleo teased amusingly with a purr, flickering her ears back and forth. It was then that she remembered Muse, and when turning round quickly she introduced, “Oh guys, this is Muse. She’s hanging with us - she’s cool an’ that." Winking to the other girl, the feline then followed on after Hive curiously as she wondered what he was up to. “Were planning you to move on already? Did you not notice something odd about this room?” He said, to which Cleo gave a slightly confused stare, followed by a nod. “Yeah we were gonna move on, why what’s so special about the room, Hive-y?"

Watching him enter the room, Cleo watched especially keenly as the other demon sat down in the middle of the room before knocking against the floor. The feline wasn’t too sure what Hive was doing, but she trusted him enough to know he might have been onto something and thus she hurried into the room and walked over to where he sat. He then struck the floor suddenly, landing a single punch to the ground though nothing seemed to happen, beside the obvious vibrations and shaking of bits of furniture. Cleo even jumped a little in surprise as she regained her balance back.

“We would consider this odd... Why would a floor be indestructible? We wonder. Would anyone-” Hive stopped, visibly smirking as the feline began to share his same exact expression. ”Care to find out?”

“You think the academy is trying to hide something?" She asked, before turning to the face the other members of the group. “Hey guys, you gotta come and see this!" Considering Hive was unable to even scratch the surface, Cleo doubted she could inflict any sort of damage to the floor either. Stretching her arms up, the girl took a few steps back as if readying herself for something. Sure, Hive couldn’t dent it, and she probably couldn’t either – but this was Cleo after all. She had to try something at least, regardless of how stupid.

Rushing forward, she sprang into the air before hurling herself down and crashing onto the floor with a heavy thud, as she landed squarely on her stomach. Maybe not stone-shattering, but Cleo felt something shatter at least, maybe her insides most likely as she staggered back onto her feet slowly with a slight wobble. The ground was still undamaged, unsurprisingly, but the feline was a little dizzier than she was moments before. “O-Owe." Rubbing her stomach the girl frowned a little as she sheepishly walked off and sat down on the floor to regain her focus. “Stupid floor... I totally just weakened it for you guys."

Ruzik R.

Image

”Well, hello ladies and gentlemen.”Glancing about the room Ruzik tried to find where the voice came from, suddenly seeing a familiar dark vortex appearing in the infirmary. The blue-haired mage appeared and sat down, addressing the staff before throwing a look to the demon. ”I heard that my presence was needed here. What's the problem?”

“I’m so glad you arrived, I was worried you were too busy but that doesn’t seem to be the case.” The woman said and gave a sigh, smiling a little before walking over to the blue-haired mage and bowing to him slightly. “I suggested it would be wise to have someone escort Ruzik before he left here, otherwise I fear he may just cause trouble if left on his own. He chose you to escort him but I do apology for asking you here so suddenly.”

Ruzik watched the nurse quietly as she spoke to Mikari, all the while busying himself as he dug the upper set of his teeth down into the side of his arm a little, occupying his mind with a sudden burst of pain. It didn’t seem to cause him any discomfort though, but on the inside, his body felt as if it were hungering for something, like a heart though only it wasn’t, but for something entirely different. This was what was causing the demon to inflict pain onto himself in an attempt to distract his thoughts.

Out of the corner of her eye the woman noticed this, swinging an arm round as she lightly hit the end of her clipboard against the back of the demon’s head. “Knock that off, you’ll only cause yourself an injury if you don’t stop.”Sighing, she turned her back to the demon and then crossed her arms, facing at Mikari once more. “Please just take him and make sure he doesn’t come back here, unless he is on the verge of dying. I leave him in your capable hands Mr. Akigawa.” With that she took her leave and walked out of the room.

Dropping his arm to his side, Ruzik looked to the mage with an expressionless look. Refusing to say anything just yet, he hopped off the bed and took a few steps forward. ”You took your time.” He huffed, trying to keep a tight hold on his emotions. Though not wanting to show it on his face, Ruzik could not deny the whirling emotions that were twisting through his being. Sure, his hunger for hearts had been put to ease and yet Ruzik still craved something, although not desiring to kill for it, the demon was still unfulfilled.

”You still have to tell me what that riddle meant!” He snapped just then, glaring somewhat at the mage as he stepped closer to the man. ”I can’t figure it out, or rather I refuse to! You have to tell me, even just a little bit. I need to know why I can’t hear your heart - you have no idea what it is doing to me!” Ruzik hated it when others had something over him, especially mages. Though not often, it irked him to no end when he felt clueless, such as now.

Taking yet another step closer to Mikari, the demon felt a sudden rush of emotions fleeting through his body. In response Ruzik quickly stepped back, taking a deep breath as he regained self-control. ”Anyway, let’s leave this infirmary. I want to go somewhere, anyway, that’s far away from other people. I have to get away.”

It was rather unnatural for Ruzik to be around others and not hunger for their hearts. The mages had stomped out his one pleasure, and now instead of craving for people hearts, he was lusting for peoples flesh. To be held and touched, to roll around with someone, and… Shaking his head slightly he fiddled with his glasses briefly as he tried to adjust himself to everything that was going on with him. Although an Incubus, his hunger had always been overpowering to any of his other urges, so he was somewhat unaccustomed to the feelings he felt just now.

With a sigh he turned to face the mage. ”So, are we going?”

Bugby twitched a little as he felt something leaving him, unsure of what exactly it was until witness a small ladybird fluttering away and retreating to the figure of Hive who appeared beside the group. It didn’t take long before Cleo was wrapped around the demon, as expected, before hurrying to meet their mage who rejoined them soon after. Whilst the girl got down to introduction their newest friend, Bugby listened as Hive spoke and focused his attention onto the room they were about to move on from, as did Cleo sometime after, before both demons made their way into the room.

”What are you doing?” He asked, though to no one in particular as he simply watched Hive knocking against the floor that he sat on, Cleo standing next to him. The demon remained standing at the doorway for a few minutes longer, just enough time as he watched Hive strike at the floor, though no damage seemed to occur. “We would consider this odd... Why would a floor be indestructible? We wonder. Would anyone-” Bugby leaned into the room a little, noticing both Hive and Cleo smirking somewhat alike. ”Care to find out?” This was followed by another failed attempt by Cleo this time, which only caused the green-haired demon to roll his eyes.

”Hang on, if the Academy is hiding something, perhaps, then what gives us the right to go digging around anyway?” He said, stepping into the room as he walked over and stood between Hive and Cleo, though by now the feline was already resting on the floor. ”Only a fool would try to break into it, and an even more foolish demon would continue to do so.” The demon remarked, trying not to sound insulting, though maybe he did just a little.

A moment later he stepped to the side and knelt down onto the floor, inspecting it a little where both demons had struck the surface of the ground. Surprisingly, it truly was undamaged. Bugby hadn’t really seen anything like it before, not often at least. Whenever he had though it was most often used by a mage, he believed. Therefore maybe a mage could undo the barrier, just maybe. But he wouldn't hold his breath on it.

”I think we should just leave it alone, we don’t know what’s being kept below and it could get out of hand.” He advised, perhaps the only voice of reason in the group. Bugby may have come across as a somewhat goodie-good demon just then, which wasn’t entirely untrue, but from experience he knew it didn’t hurt to be a little cautious now and again. Cleo was clearly the foolish one, given what he had just witness, but Hive seemed to have some degree of wisdom to him. ”If you persist to try and get in though, on your head be it.” With that he fell quiet, crossing his arms as he sat properly on the ground and crossed his legs. He could only wonder what the other members thought of it, whether they agreed or disagreed.

They had been prepared to move on when another joined their group and a ladybug that had gone seemingly unnoticed before flew from Bugby's shoulder and melted into the skin of the arrival. It was creepy and yet amazing and Muse couldn't help but watch with a mix of disgust and awe as the ladybug turned into skin. The bug-man introduced himself as Hive, a fitting name considering what he was made up of. Unless the bug had just been an illusion and he was really a person? But he had introduced himself as a group.... Muse's head spun as she tried to come to a conclusion which caused the fairy to forgot to give her name in return so she was glad that Cleo did it for her. Muse's cheeks flushed a bit at the statement Cleo paired with it. She figured being cool was a good thing and not simply temperature deficient so Muse took it as a compliment.

Hive wormed his way into the room, squeezing past Bugby and Cleo who were still in the doorway and joined Muse in the center. “Were planning you to move on already? Did you not notice something odd about this room?” She cocked her head to the side in question when suddenly Hive pounded the floor with his fist, causing the room to shake. Muse jumped, yelping in surprise. "What are you doing?" She questioned, attempting to steady herself as the floor stopped moving. "We would consider this odd... Why would a floor be indestructible? We wonder. Would anyone care to find out?" Cleo joined them and in an attempt to either show off or assist Hive's efforts did a front flip and crashed onto her stomach, giggling like mad and claiming she had loosened it up for them.

"Perhaps we should leave it alone like Bugby suggests? I mean, whatever's down there could be a lot worse then those staffs you shocked yourself with Cleo." Bugby was right, they shouldn't go snooping around a place with a magical barrier. What if there was some sort of monster lurking below their feet? Or some Ark of the Covenant, Maltese Falcon type thing that could get them into some weird trouble if they discovered it? Of course Muse could also just have an overactive imagination.

”If you persist to try and get in though, on your head be it.” Bugby wasn't exactly discouraging them by walking over and sitting on the ground beside them. Another new arrival appeared in the doorway, this one with gold hair and earrings. Her curiosity was instantly attracted to him as Muse had never seen a man wear earrings before. Cleo seemed to know him as well as she addressed him familiarly. "If you're really set on getting through I can try some of my magic to bring the floorboards up." Since it was a wood floor Muse could attempt to use her water manipulation to loosen it up.

Ichiro followed Hive as he walked as if he had pinpointed their exact location. Walking around taking turnings as if he had a map in his head and he was just following the the line to the checkpoint. It had peaked Ichiro's curiosity about what his power fully entailed, though he doubted that Hive would ever reveal that information as it's basically giving up your trump cards. Ichiro hoped that the only reason he knew so well where to go was due to his power, because if he had this good of a natural sense of directions then Ichiro would be scared. Or maybe he is just the opposite of Ichiro who may have the worlds worse sense of direction. Hive took a glance at Ichiro who returned the look with a glare as he was just a tad bit jealous of his sense of directions.

Entering the room after Hive, looking around he noticed the girl who had been following Bugby out of the cafeteria standing together with the others. Hive introduced himself, but Ichiro questioned who she was before introducing himself. Though first he responded to Cleo's remark. "I was just taking my time that's all. Who might this be?" Saying in regards to the new demon in the room. "Oh I'm Ichiro by the way, " He said playfully.

It seemed as if everyone attention was being drawn away though as Hive summoned everyone to check out a floor that seemed to be unbreakable. Ichiro couldn't help, but chuckle a little when he watched Cleo attempt to break through. Instead of trying to help though Ichiro crossed his hands behind his head and laid back against the wall. Normally Ichiro would just start wamping on it till he figured it out. This time though Ichiro could tell if Hive couldn't break it, and he knew his strength after his fight, then most likely a simple beating wasn't going to get them far. So instead he would sit back and enjoy laughing at their attempts while studying it for potential weaknesses. If only he knew more about standard magic shields, this was one of those times he wished he had studied more.

Bugby brought up the idea of not messing with it at all because it could spell bad news. The thought had crossed his mind, but when Muse agreed with Bugby and brought up the staff it reminded him of his experience with the staffs earlier. A shiver went down his spine as he grab his ribs remembering the beating he got just earlier that morning.

Looking over he noticed Muse looking at him before joining the others in an attempt to find a way in offering to try her hand using her magic. "That's not a bad idea." Secretly Ichiro cared more just to learn what kind of powers she had though. "Hey, if it ends up weakening the seal I may just show off a little of my powers as well."

Hive

Hive couldn't help but chuckle at Cleo's attempts. For all she had changed since their first meeting, some things would never change about her. Hive put his hand on Cleo's head to help her at least stand straight.

Not everyone was as eager as Cleo, though. “Rules, rules, rules.” Hive shrugged at Bugby's words. How could that demon feel so familiar and yet think so differently. Even his name had an ironic similarity. “We wouldn't have pegged you to be so boring.” He taunted. “Where is your sense of adventure?”Where Bugby seemed to prefer to learn through observation, Hive was more at home with testing; not just the floor but also the academy. There were many reasons Hive was interested in the barrier, what could be beyond it and to have some accomplishes... And in that sense, Hive had the feeling he had Ichiro in the pocket for this little venture.

“Most welcome.” Hive answered when he turned to Muse, wondering if she would have more success than Cleo and him. Barriers took many forms, Hive knew that much, but there was little he could do to undo them outside of throwing muscle at it. Ervin had very well demonstrated barriers their function, but his old master had been a devious one. A demon taught too little is not living up to their potential, a demon taught too much might use that knowledge against their master. Hive doubted any of the demons present knew much about barriers.

Cleo remained sitting on the floor as the other students offered their opinions, Bugby somewhat unsurprisingly advising to not delve any deeper, Muse agreeing with him, and Ichiro seemingly agreeing with herself and Hive. “You guys need to worry less, after all why would the academy have something really dangerous here, where there are loads of demons? That'd be pretty reckless." She giggled, before crawling over to beside Bugby and wrapped her arms around him and held the demon close. “Come on Buggie, loosen up a lil' and relax." She purred and petted the boys head reassuringly whilst holding him a cozy embrace.

“Hey, I wonder who put the barrier up in the first place? You think it was the headmaster? He seems like he would do that sort of thing." The feline wondered as she thought, releasing her hold on Bugby just a little, though still maintaining some form of grip on him as she looked to her teammate. “Don't you know anything about the barrier? Can't you copy it or something?" Cleo asked, sort-of knowing the extent of Bugby's power though clearly not to its fullest.

Regardless of his answer, Cleo got to her feet and brushed down her clothes. Turning to Muse she said, “Sure, you should give it a go! Maybe you can break it, Muse." Whether the other girl could break the barrier was debatable, since Cleo didn't know what the girl was capable of. But they wouldn't get anywhere if they didn't try at least. That was when the feline looked to Ichiro with a curious gaze and proceeded to stroll over to the mage and stand in front of him. “Oh yes, show us your powers Ichiro! I'd like to see them." Purring, she leaned up and snuggled against his chest - just like any cat would, before pulling away and refocusing her attention onto the floor.

Mikari suggested the pair go out and get some fresh air, which the demon couldn't really protest against. He couldn't really remember the last time he got some air, simply. Offering a nod, he followed the mage as he lead the pair to the entrance before passing through it altogether once the barrier was lowered, and then raised shortly after. Things seemed to be going quite pleasantly until the mage spoke at that moment.

"I hope you're not going to have any ideas." He said in a surprisingly firm voice, causing the demon to narrowing his gaze a little. "The town is quite deserted around these time so you don't have to worry being surrounded with too much people. Now, shall we?" Ruzik sighed a little before simply adding, ”If you don't trust me then don't take the chance. Anyway, let's continue.”

It didn't take long for the pair to reach the town, which they proceeded to stroll around for quite some time. The area was rather peaceful and uneventful, Mikari seemed to enjoy it at least. "Man... Who could've asked more than this? You always have to follow the torrent of life, but sometimes, it's good to slow down a bit sometimes and enjoy the peacefulness, don't you think?" Ruzik didn't exactly agree. Sometimes too much peace could drive the demon a little crazy with boredom, he was never one to admire such a thing given his reputation. The only reason he would venture into a town was to kill, really. If he wanted peace he would go elsewhere, somewhere isolated, sometimes with a special someone. Just thinking of such a moment caused the redhead to smile a little, just slightly, though noticeable. ”It's not exactly my idea of peace. Places like this are merely the breeding group for trouble and chaos, as I could never truly belong in such a place.” The pair soon arrived at a bench, Mikari going and getting the two some cans from a nearby vending machine.

"It'll help you, trust me." The mage said as he threw one to the redhead, who caught the drink though kept it in his hands unopened. "Well, sit. Now tell me, why were you so insisted on knowing why you can't? I believe that the lust, the hunger that you're feeling aren't related to it by any means. When you know it, can you truly feel peace at heart? Perhaps what I'm saying aren't going to change how you feel, but you can tell me all about it. Maybe it's better than just endure it with alone? Then, I will tell you what you need to know."

Ruzik sat down next to the mage and sighed, eying up the can that he held before placing it on the bench between the two figures. ”Well for one thing I do not eat or drink human food, if you must know. I only eat hearts.” More correctly, Ruzik had never tried human things before, having been brought up on hearts for his entire existence. So much so, that if refused hearts the demon would rather starve to death than eat human food.

The mages words didn't play well to Ruzik, though the man was only trying to perhaps get a better understanding of the demon, Ruzik didn't entirely see it that way. ”Don't act as if you know me, or that you know how I feel and think. I have been listening and reading hearts since the moment I arrived into this world, its natural to me, and should there be a heart that I cannot hear then... it makes me think I am broken, that there is something wrong with me.” Surprisingly enough he was being honest. If he couldn't hear hearts then it worried him to no end, and caused much doubt and concern in his mind. Looking away briefly he continued, ”I endure everything alone. When nobody wants your existence you tend to do things by yourself. My parents didn't care enough to raise me, my mage couldn't love me enough to accept me, everything I do and feel is wrong even-though it feels natural and right to me. It was as if I was born to punish others and for that I enjoy my existence very much.”

Ruzik smirked at that moment as he looked to Mikari. It was no lie that he found great pleasure in ruining the lives of others, or really, ending the lives of others. He was a complex demon with questionable morals, but was it all an act or was he genuinely as bad as he seemed? Ruzik would never let on either way. Getting to his feet just then the demon took a few steps forward as he eyed up their location. It was so tempting to flee at that moment, to run and try and escape. Oh so tempting, but if he started running would he ever be able to stop? A part of him was tired of having to constantly be on the move, as his choice of lifestyle was hardly an easy one to keep up for as long as he had. Not to mention it was just then that another thought entered his mind, a persuasive one. Sighing, he turned round and walked back to the bench, sitting down as he looked to Mikari with a slight glare. ”Look, you can try to change me all you want but it will never work. I don't want to change. Only one person has ever accepted me as I am and their trapped at that academy too. I don't want to loose them again so I will suffer this academy, but, if I ever do change it will be for them, not you.”

Turning a little he suddenly began to shuffle closer to the mage, resting his head against the mans shoulder just a little. Perhaps it was through not hearing the mages heart that was causing the demon to grow closer to Mikari, or maybe rekindling a relationship with a mage was also attracting him. After all, it was a mage who had more or less raised him in the world, but then it was also a mage who abandoned him too. Then again maybe it was just his emotions. ”As much as I may bark and snap at you, and bite you, and want to kill and rip out your heart, I am beginning to like you just ever so slightly... Maybe you can earn my respect yet, mage.”

Turning round more he climbed up the mage a little, resting his hands against the mans shoulder as he perched his face closer to Mikari's, staring directly into his eyes. Parting his lips slightly, it appeared as if he was about to kiss the mage, that was until he felt a sharp twinge in his stomach followed by a loud grumbling noise. Technically he hadn't ate anything for at least two days, those pills only suppressed his cravings and need to have hearts, but they didn't entirely fulfill his general hunger to eat. Ruzik could feel his face burning a little red as he felt somewhat embarrassed just then.

It was sort-of relieving when he heard Muse agreeing with him, at least he wasn’t the only one having doubt about the barrier, though the boy couldn’t quite tell How Ichiro felt, but he could probably guess. “Come on Buggie, loosen up a lil' and relax." The demon heard, as he felt the familiar hands of Cleo wrapping themselves round him and pulling him into a hug of some sort. The boy merely rolled his eyes knowingly, as the girl then petted his head, which only caused him to try and pull away a little. ”Do you mind.” He muttered, as the white-haired girl began wondering who exactly put the barrier up in the first place. She guessed it was the headmaster, which Bugby could easily agree to. ”It probably was the headmaster and that’s why we shouldn’t mess around with things that don’t concern us.”

He could feel the girls grip on him loosening, prompting the demon to make an escape, but Cleo still get a good hold on him regardless. She then asked, “Don't you know anything about the barrier? Can't you copy it or something?" Sighing, he turned to face the feline a little before answering. ”My power doesn’t quiet work like that, Cleo. I would need to have the person who created the barrier to be here before I could mimic it myself,” Hopefully she would understand that, and not demand anything more from the demon that he couldn’t deliver. ”However barriers themselves are not completely difficult to interpret. Most are used by mages to keep a specific thing from breaking through, and most barriers are designed around their particular target and work as such. This barrier is most likely designed to keep students out and thus we cannot break it, however given that it is put in place by the headmaster then surely whatever made it should be able to un-make it.” The demon said and got to his feet shortly after, once Cleo had released the boy from her hold and moved on.

He looked to Hive directly at that moment, as he hadn’t forgotten the little taunts the bug-demon had said only moments before. ”My sense of adventure lies within using knowledge in the most effective manner. You see, if the barrier is created by a dark mage and with dark magic, such as our headmaster, then you only need to acquire another dark mage with dark magic to take the barrier down, understand?” His gaze refocused onto Ichiro at that moment, though not quite remembering what sort of mage he actually was, perhaps he could take the barrier down or weakening it, along with the support from Muse. Surely that would work?

”Perhaps Ichiro could have a go at taking the barrier down, along with Muse supporting him. If I am right then it should work, though there is a chance it may not.” He suggested, before shoving his hands into his pockets. Glancing back to Hive, the green-haired boy looked more closely to the other demon, taking a few steps closer as he began to examine the bug-demon more carefully. Bugby couldn’t shake off the odd feeling that consumed him, the weird vibe that he felt from being this close to Hive. However, despite how many times he looked the blonde male over, nothing made any sense to Bugby.
