"Alright kiddies, lets go find our partner in crime, kyahaha!" Pear walked through the hallways, he had arrived late as he was to replace a student who was removed for reasons unknown to him. For now his kids stuck close to him, none of the six were comfortable with large interior buildings, only him and Cateline had ever even been inside for an extended period of time. Still Pear insured them they would be fine, "Especially you Yuko, I'll keep you extra safe kiddo!" Some students shot the tall man talking to flying entities strange looks, but his huge tooth baring smile in return usually made them not want to actually bother him.

For now Pear wandered the halls looking for one of two people, a tiny pale haired winged lass or a tiny auburn haired lass. The most logical place to search would be one abundant with people so he bee lined for the cafeteria. Despite the hour for food having been long passed many still sat around chatting, and with the six pairs of eyes searching the room one found them. Pear gave a thumbs up as Adam told him he found someone who looked like their mage, "Kyahaha, good job Adam, let's all go say hello to her!" He walked his way through the large room, bumping into a few people with his huge frame before making to the table which hosted a single stoic faced girl.

He would probably be hard to not notice standing beside her at such a height and looking straight at the girl. Four of the kids stuck close to Pear but Adam had always been braver and placed himself right in front of the girls face. "Hey there, you're Liliane right? I'm your new pops, Pear, he outstreched his arm and waited briefly for his hand to be shaken but continued either way, "Oh, in your face there is my eldest son Adam, smiles here is my eldest daughter Cateline, Rowan is big nose over here, John is the angry looking kid, and my loveliest daughter Yuko is hiding behind my head, kyahahaha!" He reached behind is head, grabbing Yuko and pulling her forward and giving her a quick kiss on the forehead before letting her again retreat behind him. Pear looked expectantly at the young Liliane waiting for reply with his normal huge smile as the kids stuck near his head also looking expectant.

The Lady asked to speak to headmaster before leaving, which of course Etelka indulged. The Lady spoke of magic issues with her legs that Etelka could not fully understand. She continued on in a way that made the servant happy to serve, such strong spirit and will power. Lady Minami most certainly had the potential to become strong, hopefully she would not discard her weak servant. They then left the room and Kou gave the Lady her shoes back and apologized. She clearly did not understand the severity of the gesture it regards to Etelka, no matter, one would eventually prove more useful and Etelka would not lose this. They wandered aimlessly for a good time, Kou suggested they go team building or simply return to the dorm and talk.

"I restate I have little to contribute to team building, but I will follow the Ladies whims," she yawned after speaking. A good amount of time had passed since lunch and afternoon classes were seeming unlikely. This combined with Etelka being deadbeat tired made her desperately prefer the option of returning to the room seem entirely preferable. Still, it was not her place to choose, so she would follow the Lady in silence until she decided what to do.

"This is Ursa Minor, by the way. The 'thing in my food', as you put it." Amia patted the tiny bear and pushed back her chair slightly, giving her a bit of breathing room. Her wings unfolded, fluttering slightly with a mind of their own. She hoped the feathered appendages wouldn't draw too much attention.
Sarah put up her hands defensively.
”I'm so sorry! I had no idea.” Amia's wings fluttered and they were definitely larger than Sarah's. ”I've been in charge of taking care of children before but this is the first time I've had older students. It's a lot more difficult to keep them in line, within the rules, and interested in the subjects. Before that I was raised by two older people. They were a couple and I later learned that they were mages. They found me and I had no memory of anything beforehand-still don't. They raised me like a daughter and took care of me. Eventually, they passed away. Luckily, I was directed to this academy so I could at least have a place to live as well as a job.” Sarah give a small smirk.

”All this time I thought I was alone in this world as a person like me. Some people called me a demon because I'm obviously not human. Others called me an angel because of these wings as well. Then you show up. You have wings as well. Naturally, my curiosity is revitalized and I wonder if there's anything you could tell me about where you're from.”

Before Sarah could say anymore someone tapped her on the shoulder. She turned to see the school's secretary still wearing her standard smile.

“I hope I'm not interrupting but the headmaster would like to have a word with you, Ms. Rayne.” Sarah nodded her head and turned back to Amia.

”It seems that any information I'd like to know will have to wait. Next time I'd like to learn about you.” Sarah bid farewell to the other teacher and followed the secretary to the headmaster's office.

”Did he tell you what the conversation was going to be about?” The woman shook her head.

“I don't think it's anything to worry too much about. It might just be a schedule for your next classes. Just hope for the best.” Sarah chuckled.

”That's pretty optimistic.”

“Well, in this day and age all you can do is look on the bright side otherwise things become depressing pretty fast. 'Expect the worst. Hope for the best!' That's a slogan i picked up and took to heart.” Sarah nodded.

”That's a really good one. Hope you don't mind if I borrow it.”

“You don't have to borrow it. It's everyone's to share.” The two arrived at the doors to the office and the secretary open them to let Sarah inside. After the teacher entered the woman closed the doors behind the teacher to leave Midora and Sarah alone in the room. Sarah took a seat across from his desk.

”What is it you need?”

"Hey there, you're Liliane right? I'm your new pops, Pear. Oh, in your face there is my eldest son Adam, smiles here is my eldest daughter Cateline, Rowan is big nose over here, John is the angry looking kid, and my loveliest daughter Yuko is hiding behind my head, kyahahaha!"

Liliane was surprised that someone suddenly walked up to her and started a conversation. She shook the hand he had outstretched. The man was quite large and had objects floating around him. They were the children he was addressing.

"It's a pleasure...Pear?" Liliane believed she caught his name. "So your children are floating totems? And a better question is how do you know my name?" Liliane paused for his answer before directing her hand towards a chair at the table. "Please, sit. Unless, you are hungry. I believe there is still some time to eat before we receive instructions as to what our next course of action is. Pear reminded Lili of the sergeant that was in charge of her combat training at the facility. Although there was an obvious height difference their build was very similar. She didn't know why Pear reminded her of the man. Their personalities seemed to be about as opposite as you can get. Maybe it was because they both demanded presence. But Liliane was more interested in exactly who this man was that was sitting with her.

"I'm so sorry! I had no idea. I've been in charge of taking care of children before but this is the first time I've had older students. Eventually, they passed away. Luckily, I was directed to this academy so I could at least have a place to live as well as a job." Amia nodded, intruiged on where this conversation could possibly be heading.

"All this time I thought I was alone in this world as a person like me. Some people called me a demon because I'm obviously not human. Others called me an angel because of these wings as well. Then you show up. You have wings as well. Naturally, my curiosity is revitalized and I wonder if there's anything you could tell me about where you're from." Amia sighed, this might be even painful. However, she began.

After a long explanation of Celestial Reach, she was interrupted by the school secretary walking up. “I hope I'm not interrupting but the headmaster would like to have a word with you, Ms. Rayne.” The other Teacher nodded and turned back to Amia. She gave a little go-ahead sign.

”It seems that any information I'd like to know will have to wait. Next time I'd like to learn about you.” Amia waved as Sarah was led away by the secretary. Amia smiled half-heartedly, getting up and exiting the crowed café. She wandered around the school, finally passing by a room with strange noises coming from inside. Opening the door, she stepped inside.

A bunch of students stood inside, the odd group consisting of mainly demons, with Ichiro as well. She raised an eyebrow- the first-years were attempting to break through a floor barrier. She smiled, observing many possible attempts to break it. Crouching, she tapped the barrier softly and it rippled under her touch. The tip of her finger glowed a brilliant silvery-blue, her Aether magic emanating just enough to bump the barrier's magic. Standing again, she sighed. Coating the portals Ichiro had made with a thin film of magic, she paused him. He could easily break through, but it interrupted the concentration he had. His energy would regenerate pretty swiftly anyways.

"Barriers- a complicated sort of magic, hmm? Don't use force to break through, not with this kind of barrier. It's a Protection II, maybe with hints of Hidden. It takes incredibly strong Aether magic or a complicated ritual known as the Uncovering. If you so desire, you'd probably find some books or scrolls on it." She traced a sworl pattern of Aether on the barrier and it melted away briefly, quickly bubbling back into place. "Good luck, and if anyone asks, I was never here." Winking, she leaned back against the wall. "I may be a Teacher, but I'm still a Demon. Maybe I need some taming too."

It would be rude to not accept the offer of a seat, and he planned on taking one eventually either way. He walked around the table and sat across from Liliane, the kids stopping their flight and also landing on the table. The whole family stared at the mage, why did she look so intense and uncaring? Pear pondered it a mere moment before going about answering the girls questions, "Alright kiddo I'll answer your questions, kyahaha, yeah my kids are these here totems. No I did not make love to a totem pole, for conveniences sake think of them as adopted, kyahaha!" John spun around seemingly angry at the mention of adoption, to which Pear patted him on the head before returning attention to the mage.

"I know your name because Adam here likes to look at files while were being checked in, kyahaha! What little rascal I got on my hands," he playfully smacked his eldest son on the back, knocking the boy over with a soft clunk. It picked itself back up quickly and telepathically showed his annoyance before returning to his original state. A look of realization went on Pear's face, which to the onlooker was simply his mouth going into an 'o' shape, "Right, I promised each of the kids one question to ask you, I don't want to overload you or anything but the kids are curious fellows."

Pear reached first to Cateline, grabbing her and placing her on his shoulder like a parrot. The two silently looked at each other for a moment, then his gaze suddenly shifted back to Liliane, "No question!" Pear let Cateline fly down on her own, then Rowan flew to his shoulder, "What sorta magic do you have?" The demon waited briefly for a response while his shoulder resident changed to John, "What's the schedule here? As she responded or choose not to Pear beckoned for Adam who did not move, a short stare down later Yuko flew her way onto the top of Pear's head, "Do you have any siblings?"

Pear still with his huge fat grin placed his right elbow on the table top, then his chin landed atop it to rest. He let Yuko continue to sit on his head after the final response of Liliane, that daughter's attachment was strong but he feared her soul would not last long. He had to try and persuade Yuko to want life more before making the Pact with her, hopefully the little darling lasted plenty long despite it.

Still now he had another kid staring right at him, one who still had their body, he let out a slight chuckle as he looked into her eyes. Pear had been alive for so long he could tell this person would be easy to make Pacts with, she would take borrowed power for small prices. He let out an awkwardly timed laugh as he stared intently at the girl, not that she could tell he did hide his eyes for a reason. The mages that had taken him here knew he could corrupt the soul, but the Brand of the Pact fades and his children would never reveal his secrets, even in these confined quarters the family would expand.

"Kids, do you like her?""She would do the family well father."
"I do not trust her dad.""Yeah papa, her eyes are scary papa!"
"Shut it sis! If she makes many Pacts trust is not issue brother.""I agree with big bro."
"D-Don't tell me to shut up, that's rude right Papa!""She's right Adam, apologize to little sister."
"Fine Cateline; I'm soooo sorry dearest little sister. There better now?""Cut the sarcasm Adumb, ignore him Yuko."
"Pops are we cutting the family telepathy now?""Yeah John for now, we'll chat as six again later. Adam be nice and listen to Cateine!"
"Fweh, alright father I'll listen to Cate, best of luck.""Have fun with the mage, papa!"
"Yuko why must you always get the last word you lit-

With a quick sigh Pear returned his attention to the mage. The family telepathy allowed them to talk as a group instead of one on one telepathy with each other. Unless the Liliane was an expert on souls and detection magic it would not even seem that any talking had happened, only that Pear had zoned out. However Pear was honestly more worried about Adam bullying Yuko, what a brat that kid was. He loved his father but was never one to respect any of the others but Cateline.

"What sorta magic do you have?" Pear asked. Liliane couldn't tell if it was the totems wanting to know the answer or if was more of an act the man was putting on. Puppeteer. He told her that he was her 'pops.' What did that mean? Was he her father by documents? No. That wouldn't make any sense for the school to take an action as preposterous as that. Most likely he was probably part of her group. Though she didn't know if that position was replacing Ms. Sarah or Shiore or Acacia. She really hoped it wasn't to replace Ms. Rayne. She was the only person to give Lili attention at this school, thus far.

”I can move things with my mind. Telekinesis. And I can make things explode or, for a better term, obliterate. Not fiery but more like vaporize.” She answered his question and something looking like each totem taking the stand at a podium continued.

"What's the schedule here?

”I'm not entirely sure. I don't think any of the other students know either. Today was only the first day and only half of it is over. We just wake up to a blaring alarm that seems to go off in our head at around 0700. So just to give you a heads up for tomorrow morning prepare yourself for that.” Another changing of totems.

"Do you have any siblings?" Lili's eyes lost focus for a second, remembering back to when she lived at the orphanage. It seemed like a different lifetime ago. Then she quickly regained herself.

”None, that I know of.” That's all Liliane would answer. She didn't know the man...or the totems. There was no reason to open herself up to someone. No matter how friendly they seemed for this was merely a first impression. It could be a facade for all she knew. Then the man rested his head on his chin and seemed to stare at Lili. With the helmet he wore, it was impossible to tell exactly where his eyes were but she still felt uncomfortable.

”Excuse me. I don't know what you're so fascinated about but I've been taught that it is rude to stare. And what did you meant when you said you were my 'pops?' I don't know if you mean it literally or figuratively so I'm confused.” Then there was a loud noise in the corner of the cafeteria. It was a food tray crashing against the wall. The source was the red haired demon sitting with one of Lili's instructors for that day. She didn't like the red haired demon. She overheard their conversation when Hive went to join the other demons. He seemed to be another demon that was prideful like most of the others at the academy but what Liliane hated the most was what he was. He was an incubus. Lili thought, creatures like him, as filth. Incubus and Succubus alike. That was one ability Liliane didn't want any part of. In fact she'd be happy ridding the world of such creatures. They add nothing to the world except momentary satisfaction for the desperate.

Liliane reverted her attention back to Pear still awaiting her answer now that the momentary interruption was over.

Sarah walked with the music box in her hand and took a path outdoors. She eyed it thoughtfully and recalled what Midora said about the object.

The sound from this music box will entranced them and allow you to tame them easier.

Was the song some type of hypnosis? Sarah guessed that the teachers would at least be immune to the effects of the song. Sarah took out another cigarette and quickly lit it. Once again there was a lot of information to swallow. She had several questions on her mind. He obviously didn't feel Ms. Amia was trustworthy at the moment. That was fine with Sarah. Being at a good standing with the boss was always a positive in her book.

He also said he wanted her to talk with some females. She wasn't exactly sure who. Then her mind jumped to Kou and Etelka. They were the only females that stood out today. Maybe he was referring to them. Sarah would just ask them when she got the chance.

Then there was the fact that Sarah received two new replacements for her own group. She just saw Liliane at the cafeteria so it was possible Sarah was receiving two new demons since she hadn't seen Shiore or Acacia since class. She saw everyone else except for about three students, give or take. She hoped she wouldn't get any radical or rebellious demons in her group. Sarah already felt bad for the other instructors that had them in their group already. It was just a lot of effort to get them to either understand or accept what they were expected to do by the headmaster and the other mages that put them here.

Then there was the task Midora told Sarah about. The plans for tonight were changed. Apparently things were worse than what was originally thought. The plan with the students possibly going to investigate was scrapped. Now Sarah and Ms. Amia were on lookout/bodyguard duty. That either meant the case was bad or that possibly demons were involved. Sarah couldn't imagine the two instructor mages wanting to have demons fight their own.

Once again Sarah was on the last drag of her cigarette. It was the same every time. The things seemed to last as long as Sarah sorting out her thoughts. When she was done the cigarette was done. She then nearly walked into a group of students. She immediately recognized them all from her class except two. Ms. Amia seemed to be leading the group.

"Why hello, everyone. Is Ms. Amia giving a tour?" Sarah asked as she tucked music box into her satchel and put the used cigarette into an empty pack. It was something the old mages taught her to avoid littering and creating problems for others. As Sarah looked at each of them she noticed that out of the two students she didn't recognize one of them was a demon with wings. Not like Sarah's or Amia's. They were more insect-like. And the other was one of the mages from Liliane's class. She recognized him when he was watching the combat exercise. Sarah wondered if the girl was one of the new students for her group or if she was from another class. Sarah also noticed that neither Etelka nor Kou was with this group so she'd have to find them elsewhere.

"I hope you don't mind if I tag along. Lunch isn't much longer anyway so there's really nothing else to use the rest of my time with." Sarah said with a small smile.
