History
Ludovic was born to two surprisingly good-natured demons, and who, much to their own delight, were very supportive and loving towards their only son. However, despite their best efforts and influences, unlike them, their little bundle of joy was a very naughty demon. He had inherited a bad streak of some sort and was very mischievous and out-right ill-mannered to all he came across. His parents were at a lose, and with his bad behavior on the up-rise their little town was very persistent that the boy got "help". Much to his own displeasure. Sure enough, Ludovic was eventually sent to the Survival Kit Academy to right his wrongs. He found it quite a trialing experience and certainly protested as much as he could, though his initial burning detest dwindled over time, and the once "bad demon" eventually blossomed into a "good demon".

As he got older the time soon came in which Ludovic accepted a placement at the academy, a teacher no less. He was quite surprised to find a new life within the very place he use to detest, but the demon actually began to like it very much. After two years he still teaches at the academy and hopes to become the best teacher he can be, hopefully. He's settled quite well and is determined to surpass his colleagues.

"I'm quite the poster boy for this academy, really. Just look how well I turned out!"

Other
||Eye-Patch||
Ludovic wears an eye-patch that covers his right eye, in which he is blind and was due to an accident he had during his younger years. Needless to say the other guy turned out "worse" if you happen to ask him about it. He wears it like a badge of honour -- just don't touch it.

"You should ah' seen the other guy, pfft. This is nuttin'."

So begins...

Midora now is making his way back to his own room. While he was walking, he rubbed all over his shoulder to sooth the pain a bit. It has been quite somewhile since the last time he got hurt like this. Midora couldn't imagine that the mark can cause severe pain to someone with such strenght like him and shivered when he came to the thought if one student accidentally touch Kou when she enter that state. I have to keep a close eye on her from now on. Though Midora had to admitted that Kou really knows how to control her emotion to be able to hold off that long.

On the way back, Midora came across the garden and saw that Akiko, still in her feline form and is resting on the grass. Maybe she hasn't gained enough strenght to turn normal yet. Though Midora was quite surprised when he saw her in action and using magic like that. This kind of magic is very ancient and demonic, I thought that it was forgotten already. Midora frowned, maybe she did make some kind of contract with other beings to be able to gain such ability like that, though he is well-aware that the price wasn't cheap at all.

So Midora standing from afar and uses Absolute Zero, the black wind fused into a funnel and wrapped around Akiko, nullifying her form and turned her back into her normal form. When she has turned normal again, he swung his arm and the wind disappeared. Then he continued to walked towards the teachers' square. He couldn't waste anymore energy today or else that would happens. Sometimes, he did wonder if his power was a gift, or a curse that was given to him. Still, he has to keep his head up high and show them that he isn't afraid of anything.

The students are now gone back to their dorms after their day, some are still hanging out in the cafeteria or at the park. Teachers also needed their own free time too. Midora yawned, all he wanted now is to take a shower then find something to eat and then rested for now until he has to go and meet up with Kou. Though he like to be hard-working, he still needed sometimes to rest and he *really* don't want to be disturbed.

When he got to the teachers' quarter, he saw that there was no one there but him. I wonder why the doppleganger could possibly take the other groups that long, or is it because we dealt with it too fast? Well, it is better to finished it quickly than to taking it on like forever. As far as Midora remembered, the teacher who was given the task to supervise group two has to back down for some reason and a replacement will coming to the group shortly. He shrugged and then entered his room while taking his boots off.

Midora's room is pretty much like any other teachers' rooms. Lots of technology stuffs. But since he wasn't that much of a technophobe, it was okay, actually. He then went into the bathroom, standing in front of the mirror and took off the toga, and then the upper part of his robe, revealing his naked torso. Midora flinched as he saw that there was bruises all over his arms, his chest and his back. He sighed, he remembered that he used to be wounded even more badly than this. However, in the first day and he has already spending that much to fix his students' problems then it'll no less than a pain from now.

Midora turned on the faucet as hot water streamed out, he closed his eyes while raised his arm to the water streams. A few moments later, the water sparkles with some soft light. With that, Midora taken off the rest of his clothes and standing under it. As the water streamed through his body, it also healed the bruises. Even though Dark Mages are not familiar with healing power, he did inherit something from his White Mage mother, though not much. After he has washes every pinch of dust off his body and healed every bruises that he found, he turned the faucet off and dried his body with a towel nearby, put on his robe and got out with his hair still wet.

Suddenly, Midora can hear that his stomach is growling at him. Well yeah, he barely eaten anything today. Because he was so into the new batch of students that he forgot to have lunch. Midora was thinking about going to the cafeteria, but he has never really enjoyed the food there so he decided to cook for himself. At least his cooking lessons that he took was useful. So he took his wallet on the table and then made his way back to the entrance of the Academy again. When he went through he halls, no one are back yet and it is already passed sunset now. He shrugged and continued on his way.

He went out of the school's grounds and makes his way to the town. People are starting to closed their doors and yet another peaceful day has ended. The afternoon breeze slowly blew through Midora's hair as he walked. It is good to know that mages and demons can still get along in peace. He then continued his way and went to a grocery shop nearby.

"Hey Dora-chin", the shop assitant spoke, "how's the first day?"

"Pretty tiring, I must say. The whole town was going to be demolished if I weren't there", he replied.

"Hehe, even though you've changed now, you still have to fix problems, eh?"

"I guessed so."

"What can I give you in my humble shop? I was going to close the shop but then you went in. I wouldn't make exceptions for anyone except for my favorite Bringer of Desolation, you know", the shop assitant jokes and gave Midora a grin.

Midora sighed, "Mikari, cut the crap please. You know that I'm not that person anymore", he said as he took a plastic bag and get the ingredients that he needed for his dinner.

"Yeah right, but still, we used to have such glorious time back to when we're still at the Guild, don't you think?", Mikari leaned on his desk and said to Midora.

"I was rather blinded back then. Can't believe how things have changed now", Midora put his groceries on the sales table, "but I'm glad that you were there with me."

"Nah, we're best buddies, remember?", Mikari gave Midora a smile while calculated the money, "That'd be 25 bucks, special discount."

"That wasn't really funny, you know", Midora opened his wallet and gave Mikari the money, "Well, I guess I'll see you around sometimes."

"Dora-chin, you know, I really missed that smile on your face. Don't you think it is better to let it go and smile for just once? I know you've went through a lot of hell in your life, but they're in the past now, no?"

"I don't know", Midora looked elsewhere, "but that Midora has already dead. You know that."

"Well, I'm just saying", Mikari shrugged, "See you around, nice evening with your students, kay?"

"Yeah, thanks for everything", Midora nodded as carried his groceries and stepped out of the shop then makes his way back to the Academy.

When Midora was making his way back, suddenly, someone accidentally ran and bumped into him and both of them lying on the floor as his stuffs was shattered on the ground. Midora frowned bit while trying to got up, but the one who is lying on him was so heavy. And when his mind has snapped back, he realized that it was no other than Ludovic Howl - the replacement teacher of group 2.

"Ludovic? What are you doing here? Shouldn't you suppose to be supervising a group of newcomers now?", Midora crawled up as he gathered back his stuffs and put it back in the bag. Luckily that nothing were broken yet. When they've got back on their feet, Midora swept his robe a bit then turned to his collegue.

"I guess someone never changed", Midora said then gave Ludovic the map which Iris gave them, "here, you'll need this to find your group. Go now."

A darkly red-haired demon was quickly bypassing nearly every thing and person that came near his way. Of course it was hardly surprising when he came headfirst into an unsuspecting mage, a fellow teacher no less, who was now laid flat on the ground along with Ludovic. Naturally of course it wasn't Lulu's fault!

"Ludovic? What are you doing here? Shouldn't you suppose to be supervising a group of newcomers now?" The voice was ever-so familair that it pained the demon to even acknowledge Midora, knowing that the mage wouldn't take the knock so lightly. As he rubbed his forehead the demon got to his feet swiftly and merely sulked at his colleague.

"Oh am' fine thanks for askin'." He promptly replied with a raised brow. Ludovic was well-aware on where he ought to be at that moment, and could clearly see he wasn't there. He watched somewhat curiously as Midora gathered his belongings, seemingly nothing wrecked in the collision. "I supervise from a distance what can ah' say. Their fine."

"I guess someone never changed," Lulu merely rolled his eyes in silent annoyance, not really daring to gather the courage to protest out-right at the man. Not that he was scared however, he just didn't see a point to it. For now. A moment or so later Midora brought something to the demons attention and quickly grasped his focus. "here, you'll need this to find your group. Go now." Reluctantly taking the map he briefly glanced over it before shoving the piece of paper into one of his pockets. He had all the information he needed now and was good to go.

"Way ahead of yah' old man I got this," Offering his words in a slight teasing manner the demon smirked rather proudly, clearly taking amusement in the nickname. "I gotta get some new students and take em' to Zita first, if that's alright with you, boss?" With a heavy sigh the demon was only playing around with the old guy, and yet knew he was quite right in what he said. "Then I'll get onto my group. I'm certainly-certain they're still alive, somewhere."

With a lighthearted grin and wave the demon took his leave just then. "Now, you take it easy, yah' hear?"

Leaving Midora, the demon took the chance to finally seek out the new students before finding the lovely Zita. He knew where the boys were and it certainly didn't take long to hunt to two down. Promptly arriving at the classroom minutes after, it wasn't long before Ludovic found himself in the presence of the two new students. He briefly looked the pair over, mentally giving judgement though not bothered to vocalize it. "Mao and Heikichi, right?"

Without awaiting further acknowledgements, the red head motion with his hand for the two boys to follow him as he began leading them to their designated teacher. Leaving the halls of the academy Ludovic guided the boys outside until his sights fell onto the woman in question, Zita, who was nearby. Walking over to the lady the demon offered a cheerful little smile. She was certainly a pretty girl and he was always happy in her company.

"Hey Zita! Looks-a-like we got a switch-a-roo here. This is Mao and Heikichi, the two new students assigned to your group. I'll be taking Lashes and Danica out of your little hands." Once the two boys were close enough the demon merely pushed the pair forward in-front of their new teacher. "Yah' best be on your best-est behaviour."

With little else to say at that moment Ludovic saw it best to let the group get to know one another on their own. "Well, you all know the drill, maybe next time you'll actually make it to an exercise!" Taking Lashes and Danica along with him, the demon showed the pair to their new group before continuing on his way out of the academy grounds.

Challenging himself to actually look at the map again, which he begrudgingly did so, Lulu made a mental note of the location his team was suppose to be before hurrying on over to the town. He was quite familiar with the layout and the demon wasted little time in navigating himself around before making his way to his desired location. Of course, what with the ruckus that bellowed around him, Ludovic could already tell he was pretty close.

Quietly side-stepping into the area he didn't openly make his presence known, but rather merely took a seat wherever he could and observed the three students; Raise, Makoto and Rabesach. He knew who they were immediately, having looked at their files. They certainly sounded interesting and were bonding just fine.

Kicking back with a sigh, the demon began making some notes and was quite excited to see the outcome. He decided to hold-off from introducing himself just yet, since he didn't want to distract the students from their battle.

He'd wait for now.

Ludovic took the map from Midora, though he knows that the demon just reluctantly did that. "Way ahead of yah' old man I got this," the demon said with a teasing tone, "Way ahead of yah' old man I got this. I gotta get some new students and take em' to Zita first, if that's alright with you, boss? Then I'll get onto my group. I'm certainly-certain they're still alive, somewhere."

Midora listened to his collegue. Then he responsed, "Just keep yourself out of trouble. Well, have fun I guess. You'll make a good example for those kids, I think. Guess I'll see you around sometimes."

With a lighthearted grin and wave the demon took his leave just then, "Now, you take it easy, yah' hear?" Midora looked on as Ludovic got away from the Academy to his group. He sighed with a facepalm. Midora felt like he was working with a kid. A gigantic kid, to be exact. But when he came to think about it, he finds that working with the demon was pretty interesting, actually. Midora's lips then raised a bit, forming a very soft smile, which was unusual. Though he didn't admit it, he found that it is fun to work with such strong collegues. After all, he still respect them despite all of their differences. Even if they might think that he was a grumpy person. Well, he is the oldest person around here, isn't it? He has went through a lot and his past helps him to be the person that he is now today.

Midora shrugged and then carried his stuffs back to his room. But suddenly, an uneasy feeling washed over him, as if he just felt something that he hasn't felt for a long while and he don't want to feel that again. Midora frowned. Could it be...? He stood still and tried to concentrate to find the energy's source, but after a while, the feeling was gone. Maybe it just in my mind. Midora shook his head and went into his room. He is hoping that he'd be wrong this time, or else he'll have even more trouble to deal with today and he don't want to waste anymore single drop of magic today.

He put the bag onto the counter in his kitchen. Well, the kitchen in his room technically is just a small ones for some small preparation, but he can still use it for cooking. Yeah, Midora can always eat at the cafeteria if he wanted to, and he didn't say that it was terrible. Still, he enjoys the food that he cooks for himself more since it reminds him back to when he was still living an innocent life back then. He puts out the ingredient and rolled up his sleeve. After a while, he makes some sushi, salad and some other food then put them all in two bento boxes.

"That's should do it", Midora said as he put the cover for the boxes. Then he closed his eyes and held his palm onto one box and enhanced a restoration spell into the food inside it. He was going to give it to Kou so that she could restore her energy more quickly. Midora put the boxes to the table, he was going to give it to her later. He didn't remember since when that he began to care for the other people that much. Back then, all he cares about is fulfilling missions and all, but now, he felt like he has changed so much. I should go and find Kou. He thought and then makes his way out.

But just as he was walking, he saw a white-haired girl. Midora realized that the girl was the mage from Ms. Weatherbee's group. So he walked to her, "Hey, are you lost? Where's your supervising teacher?"

Mao

Today was not a good day for a certain demon. He was quite tired from having stayed up late the other night for reasons unknown. Turning in bed the demon continued to do so grumbling to himself. Finally he ended up going over the edge and fell on the floor head first. His legs were still on the bed, rather tangled too in the blanket, while his arms were splayed about him to catch his fall. Mao glared up at the ceiling of his room, "Dammit. was his only word for the morning. The blacked hair fellow continued to glare at the ceiling until he released a sigh and turned his head to look for his clock. Opening his eyes just a crack they suddenly widened upon realizing the time. "Aw crap! I'm late!" Wiggling about Mao fell for the second time as he tried to get up forgetting that his legs were still tangled. "Tch come on."

Struggling to get the covers off his legs Mao finally tore them off and jumped up. Rushing over to his dressers he quickly got dressed in whatever clothes he could find, which consisted of a pair of black pants and an open jacket, and rushed out into the hallway still getting his shoes on. Making sure to brush his teeth and wash his face to wake him up Mao proceeded to find himself some food. Once he did so he ran to the classrooms some toast hanging from his mouth as he stuffed it down his throat. Upon reaching the classroom he noticed how empty it was save for one person. Aw man did I miss the class? Ma ain't gonna be happy. Under normal circumstances the young demon wouldn't have cared if he was late however it was his first day and he had promised his mother that he'd be there in time least he suffer the consequences.

Thinking further on that he shivered. Finishing his breakfast Mao brushed the crumbs away from his jacket and pants when he suddenly remember about his hair. The mop of black strands was all over the place he started to chuckle to himself as he began to comb through it with his fingers in hopes of taming it. As always his bangs stuck out from the side of his face but he got most if not all of his hair pulled back. Frowning Mao dug around in his pockets then he remembered the other person in the room. Turning to them he smiled, "Say you wouldn't happen to have some sort of hair tie on ya?" Mao stepped closer realizing the person he was talking to was male. Biting his lips Mao returned to digging in his pockets and then the pocket in his jacket and smiled in triumph. "Never mind kid I found one." With a grin Mao finished pulling his hair back in its trademark ponytail.

Now that his hands were free he clasped his hands together and brought his arms against the back of his head. "All that running made me tired~" yawning as he spoke. Turning to face the kid again Mao grinned, "So I'm guessing you were late then? How'd that happen?" His tone was teasing but it wasn't meant to offend. After they conversed a bit another fellow entered the room, "Mao and Heikichi, right?" Turning on his heel Mao did a goofy bow, "Yessire~ I am Mao." The demon made a motion with his hands and Mao assumed they were to follow him and thus they did leaving the academy halls to some other place. Looking around Mao cracked one eye open to take a look at everything around him.

Smiling to himself Mao then saw a female up ahead. They walked over to her and Mao quickly realized the red head knew her since he called her by name. Zita? What a funny name for such a pretty lady. From what he got of their short conversation Zita was their teacher. The red haired follow pushed the both of them forwards, not that Mai resisted, and he then left the trio. Rubbing the back of his head Mao wasn't quite sure what to do in this situation. Bringing his hand out he offered it to Zita, "Well I'm Mao if you're wondering." The young demon let out a small chuckle, rubbing his abs absentmindedly. As always Mao wore no shirt but he did have a jacket however he did not zip it up or bother keeping it close.

As other groups fought viciously, attempting to take down the monsters that they had been assigned to destroy, a rather small demon still ran around the school's grounds, in a slight panic. "I am so late." he said, scurrying across the school's entrance and trying not to become distracted by the view. The school was rather marvelous, sitting over the town below like some ancient deity over a planet. The sky seemed especially blue, fat and puffy clouds scooting their way across the canvas behind them. If he had the time, he would have loved to sit down and draw them, but he didn't, which was why he was racing toward the entrance to the school. Despite its colossal appearance, it had proved quite difficult to find, or, at least, it had for him.

And now, he was slightly lost, having completely missed the wave of students that had headed into town. As he didn't know any different, his gut instinct took him to the classroom that everyone had left moments before. It was safe to say that Heikichi was slightly surprised to find it almost completely empty, aside from the presence of another boy whom he figured was his classmate. I mean, he looked about Heikichi's age, though he was quite a bit taller, and had much longer hair, so the guess that they were in similar boats wasn't too horribly hard to imagine. However, before Heikichi could think to say hello, the boy spoke. "Say you wouldn't happen to have some sort of hair tie on ya?" he asked, smiling rather brightly until he was struck with the realization that Heikichi was not female, nor had enough hair to need any devices that might have been useful in taming wild locks. Heikichi shook his head, as he was unable to be of help in this situation. "Never mind kid I found one... All that running made me tired." the stranger continued, his statement muffled by a yawn. Ah, so they really must've been in the same boat. The other student seemed to recognize this as well, questioning Heikichi on how he'd managed to arrive late.

Heikichi chuckled as he reminisced. "I managed to get lost. 'Never been too good with directions." He would have carried the conversation further, curious to the boy's name and what group he might have belonged to, or even where he might have thought the other students and teachers were. But, before he could do so, a being entered the room, one that Heikichi assumed was a teacher. He stood at a height far above either of the students before him, his hair a bright shade that resembled a setting sun.

"Mao and Heikichi, right?" the man asked before gesturing that they come along. The two boys did, following the man outside, quickly guided to a woman that Heikichi assumed was yet another teacher, her hair a startling shade of green. With the amount of colorful people on staff, he was positive that he'd find someone worth drawing. As the other teacher, ya know- the dude with the eye patch- left, he said something about arriving earlier next time so that they could participate in the school's activities. He wasn't too sure what it was that they had missed, but it sure sucked that they were behind.

Mao was not too hesitant to introduce himself to the woman, whom Heikichi was sure had been referred to as Zita. Once his group-mate had finished, the boy followed his example. "Ah, and I'd be Heikichi. Seems that we're a bit... fashionably late, perhaps?"

"Wooohooo! I did it!"

Slowly opening his eye to the sudden outburst of delighted joy that rang in his ears, the demon supervisor moved around a little before heaving himself upright and onto his feet. By the sounds of it, the group had been successful, and now he could finally meet them as the situation was safe and sound.

"...I tamed it! We better get some friggin' extra credit for that." The students, or student, were evidently happy at their small victory. They had been teacher-less this entire time and yet managed to defeat the doppelganger without any supervision. That little aspect was impressive in it's own way. Peering round from where he stood Ludovic watched the group for a moment, before stepping out fully as he eventually decided to approach them.

"Aye, mage, are you able to stand? You 'n pony boy should take this thing to the academy's nurse." Ludovic merely smiled and even chuckled a little as he waved his hands calmly in front of himself. "Whoa, whoa there, if it's dieing then just let the poor thing pass-on in peace." He stated aloud, dropping his hands and leaning to the side slightly.

"I gotta say you guys did better than I thought. I'm Ludovic Howl - your teacher." Glancing over the students it seemed like they needed some treatment themselves, never-mind the creature. "That thing will be fine, on the other hand you lot better get movin'. It's getting late and I'll get in trouble if you guys are still out here, like, seriously."

The demon pointed in the direction of the academy, standing and watching the youths rather carefully as he waited for the students to move themselves. "So get movin'. If your real quick I'll even give you that extra credit you were whining on about." Turning on his heel the demon walked ahead of the group, figuring they'd talk later since his priority was mainly to get them back to the academy. "Follow on kiddies."

Now, at one point one might have stared asking themselves: where was Makoto amongst all the mess that occurred? After having flown down to pick up Raisa, had he just slipped back into the folds of the story, mingling himself with the objects of which authors imply to be there when they’re not? The fabrics of the story that readers make up with their own minds so as to focus on the main story plot? To be fair, that was sort of what happened; for as Makoto had let down Raisa, a seizure had wracked through his whole body, causing him to forcibly be drawn out of the mayhem that came to a final stop with Rabesach’s claws stuck firmly in the doppleganger’s torso. Now, what Makoto would have wished to happen was that he would defy Raisa’s orders- mages be damned-, swung in the direction of the doppleganger with sword and air ablaze and hack whatever surface he could reach. Heroic, eh? Dramatic? Definitely. And that really was what Makoto lived for everyday: some sort of drama. To live life to it’s fullest- trying to understand the terms “yolo” and “#youonlyliveonce” were the main objectives towards which the “old soul” within Makoto tried to strive towards. Obviously, defying the woman whom was able to control his limbs with her very orders was something that Makoto would see as underneath his life objectives.
But life tends to be cruel and his dream was dragged out of his hands. Instead…

He had been too careless. His body numb, Makoto felt himself keel over as his muscles seized against themselves, his breath leaving his lungs as his heart came to a stop. No. He struggled against the rock that seemed to clamp him down, but as it had been since his childhood, nothing could help Makoto as his bad luck seized him. He had been too careless. “Fuck-,” Grunting, Makoto tried to jog his lungs to work, but they faltered once more, as if they had taken many long years of smoking from another person. His legs refused to respond, as if Makoto had received the bad fortune of a kid whom had been destined to break his legs.
He had been careless because he had lost control over his powers. While Makoto had been so enticed with the idea of freedom and in his anger, his bad luck had been seeping from his pores, like black mist trailing behind him through the village. They had latched onto people like little tiny particles- especially on his two teammates. But Makoto had noticed his mistake, and with a small curse that probably no one but Raisa had heard, he had immediately drawn the negative energy into his own body, taking the consequences as his body seized against his mind. And as he lay there, body twitching slightly and unable to escape from the incoming doppleganger, Makoto could only berate himself and curse the world as he forced his lungs to work again, his healing Qilin blood slowly jogging life back into his body. Never doing this again. Twitching his fingers, Makoto waited for his legs to react as he tried to push himself up, his eyes bleary as he looked around before focusing on the man that just appeared.
"That thing will be fine, on the other hand you lot better get movin'. It's getting late and I'll get in trouble if you guys are still out here, like, seriously. So get movin'. If your real quick I'll even give you that extra credit you were whining on about. Follow on kiddies." Makoto looked at the man with disbelief as he forced himself to sit up, his legs still recuperating from being crushed by his own powers. They would take longer to heal but not too long, and as his annoyance swelled along with his pain, Makoto could only bite his tongue, as he knew he was not in a shape to fight. He had been useless during the fight that much was obvious for the young Qilin- a large pout had formed on his face as he flickered a look between Rabesach and Raisa. It would be no lie that he felt more respect towards the two- especially the mage- but his hurt pride caused Makoto to fold his arms together and his lower-lip to jut out, his back turned towards them as he consciously kept an eye on his powers. “I can’ move,” Makoto finally said over his shoulder, his eyes still shut and his lower-lip still as pouty as ever, “m’ legs are broke n’ still need time t’ heal.”

All things considered, the battle had gone decently well, mused the Magus, forcing herself to a kneeling posture despite the searing pain running up and down her legs each time she moved them. Rabesach, for his part, had managed to mostly stay out of the line of fire, allowing the two of them to draw the creature's attention, since they, unlike him, were equipped with combat-based powers that would allow them to handle such things with less difficulty. Once its attention was diverted, he'd done more than just deal the final blow - he'd assumed direct control of the creature they'd been sent to slay. However, she herself hadn't fared quite so well, and Makoto, it seemed, had suffered the worst injuries of any of them. He hadn't been directly hit, true, but in the instant she'd been struck, her green eye had noticed something that otherwise might have slipped by her. There had been some sort of curse that had been cast - although she wasn't sure from where - that had caused her to be incapable of avoiding being cut down by the doppelganger. But by all rights, a curse like that should have at the very least fated her legs to be crippled instead of merely lacerated, or, much more likely, destined major arteries to be cut so that she'd have bled to death. Yet, when she analyzed her own condition using her reinforcement magic, she found that her wounds were rather minor, the cuts being rather shallow and insignificant, although they were, admittedly, fairly messy. First thing was first. She reinforced her blood surrounding the wounds, causing it to coagulate instantly and seal the lacerations, a solution which seemed all too simple considering the fact that she'd just been cursed. Looking back on the battle, she could only draw one conclusion. The instant that it had happened, the curse's target had changed. Makoto was supposed to be a Qilin, and from what she knew of them, they supposedly brought good fortune. Surely, his suddenly and unexpectedly being injured in the same way she by all rights should have been couldn't have been a coincidence. Had he taken on her misfortune so as to save her? He had seemed rather unexpectedly concerned for her safety earlier when she'd first arrived on the scene, too... And yet she'd let her temper get the better of her and had only yelled at him for his selflessness. She flushed with shame, remembering how she'd insulted him, her dignity thoroughly broken by her own perceived immaturity. She didn't deserve to have been rescued by him after being so inexcusably rude.

Forcing herself to her feet, she staggered slightly, trying to ignore the burning pain in her legs as they protested her rough treatment of them. Sheathing her knife, she limped over to the fallen Qilin, and knelt beside him, facing away as she did so in an uncharacteristically bashful attempt to hide her own humiliation over her prior outburst. Finally, when she felt she was sufficiently composed, she looked back, a slight grimace lingering on her face as she tried to pretend that she was unharmed. It was a thoroughly unreasonable thing to do, and would probably only make the otherwise minor injuries she had sustained more serious, but one good deed warranted another, and she didn't want to owe anybody anything. "Pull yourself up onto my back," She said quietly, disregarding her own injuries as her stubborn nature commanded her to make amends for the damage she'd unwittingly forced Makoto to inflict on himself to save her. "I'll carry you back to the academy." Seeming to notice how she was in no place to offer such assistance when her own condition was hardly better, she pouted slightly, adding some "reasoning" to justify her own stubbornness. "I can reinforce my body to support your weight, and we both need to go to the healers anyway, so we're headed to the same place. I might as well take you there while I'm at it."
