Gwendolyn Kara Sigrdrifa

"You want to fight? Bring it on."

0 · 294 views · located in The Woods

a character in “The Surviviors”, as played by WindOnFire

Description

Team and Team Leader: Xenia

Nickname: Gwen

Name: Gwendolyn Kara Sigrdrifa

Age: 19

Gender: Female

Main Power: She can control lightning, and through this, electricity. Her natural reserves of lightning make thunderstorms more likely near her, and she acts as a natural lightning rod. She can absorb some lightning, but too much could kill her.

One other power: Gwen has enhanced speed, not quite super speed, but enough that she blurs when she’d running. Fortunately, this power came with reflexes to match, otherwise she would always be running into things with enough force to break bones.

Skills: Hand-to-hand combat is her specialty, since she can react faster than almost anyone. Gwen is skilled with the spear as well. She’s also naturally good at horseback riding, though she’s never had a chance to. Gwen also can play almost any card game invented. Don’t play poker with her unless you’re willing to lose.

ONE weapon: She carries a six-foot spear with a razor-sharp blade.

Race: Valkyrie

Description: Gwen’s hair is loosely curled, falling just past her shoulders in golden waves. She never puts it up or ties it back, loving the feeling of it against her neck. She has deep blue eyes and flawless skin that almost seems to glow sometimes, giving her the appearance of having a tan when in actuality she’s been outside so rarely it’s impossible. Gwen is tall for a girl, standing just under six feet in her bare feet. She isn’t heavily muscled, but she’s toned and well able to weightlift.

She only wears achromatic clothing, with a preference towards black, but she owns some grey and white. Gwen usually wears sleeveless shirts and long pants with heavy combat boots, but occasionally she’ll wear dark floor-length gowns, just to keep people guessing. The few pieces of jewelry she owns are gold, and she always has a ring or two on. She also likes leather fingerless gloves.

Personality: Gwen is rather aloof and prideful, never admitting to any faults or mistakes. She’s got a quiet temper- when she gets mad, instead of exploding she goes quiet and stares at the offender with those sky blue eyes, tense and ready to fight. If she’s pushed further, she’ll unleash all of her fury on you, either resorting to physical violence or frying you where you stand. She almost never smiles or laughs, afraid that it’ll make her seem weak.

She knows that she doesn’t look as, well, tough, as many of the others, but Gwen does everything she can to fight against the assumptions others often make when they see her. She’s ruthless in battle, and will push herself far past her limits to prove her strength. Gwen als isn’t above fighting dirty or seeking revenge- be careful, or you might find all your electrical appliances fried.

History/Bio: Gwen had a rather unconventional upbringing, raised by an uncle who made his living gambling. He taught her how to cheat at any conceivable card game, how to pick out the best horses in a race, how to beat anyone at pool, and how to fight. She quickly proved herself to him, and soon he was bringing the blonde child to poker games and bars, and she was winning. One day her uncle was accused of cheating, and knifed in a bar fight. Gwen herself barely got away, and found herself on the street, with nowhere to go and no one to turn to. She used her unconventional skills to survive, but she was eventually picked up off the streets and found herself handed over the The Creators. Since then, she’s worked to prove herself to everyone she same in contact with.

Likes: fighting, exercising, running, winning, chocolate

Dislikes: losing, being judged by her appearance, standing still, idiots

Don't Fill out until we start!!
Allies: The Ragers, to an extent. She views everyone as an enemy, in a sense.
Enemies: The Angelics, and the rest of the world, to her mind.
Crush: She's so aloof, she rarely gives romance a thought. Anyone hoping to catch her eye would have to be skilled in battle.

Gwen

What is this, middle school? An assembly? Lame. Gwen stomped out of her room, where she’d been playing solitaire over and over again with a worn deck of cards. Boring, yes, but better than doing nothing. She leaned against the wall in the gym, ignoring the other kids, only shifting her gaze slowly towards Xenia when the other girl began to speak. A slight thrill ran through her veins when she heard her name called. And called first, of course. And I’m not going to die. Don’t underestimate me, Xenia. Her walk back to her room was slightly less sullen, her eyes practically snapping sparks.

It was the work of mere minutes to pack- clothes in a bag, with two decks of cards, a brush, and a handful of other necessities. She stalked from the room, brushing past other people in the halls as if they didn’t exist. She all but leapt into the van, sprawling against the backseat, silently sizing up her ‘teammates’ for probably the thousandth time.

When they reached their destination, she was relieved to get out, hands in her pockets and gazing up at the sky, occasionally eyeing the others from the corner of her eye. She shrugged slightly as Xenia left, and sighed as Wayne began walking down the trail, then springing into a run- slow, by her standards, but then, not everyone was as gifted as she. Of course, that thinking was slightly hampered when Andy sprang into the air, wings lifting him to heights she could not dream of.

So Wayne’s in charge of food, I’m guessing Andy’s getting a view of the land, find us somewhere to sleep…I guess I’ll do some scouting, too. Breaking off the trail, she strolled into the woods, trailing a hand over a tree now and then, kneeling to look over the ground, finding animal trails, plants that were edible, poisons. Shortly, she found herself at the brink of a creek, looking down at the gentle water. Unsure of what to do next, she leaned against a tree, gazing into thin air.

"Guys! Wanye, Andy, Gwen I found somewhere we can sleep." The call was faint, and Gwen sighed at Xenia’s summons, but turned and headed towards the voice nonetheless. She strolled along leisurely, not feeling any need to hurry, and arrived at an old cabin. Pausing as she approached, she caught the tail end of the conversation. “…get carried off by droids.” Wayne. She smiled slightly and in a short burst of blurred speed appeared next to Xenia.

“I’m not that stupid,” she said, brushing her hair back and folding her arms across her chest, looking at the others expectantly. “I was taking a look around, getting a feel for the terrain. So,” she said with a raised eyebrow, “anyone find anything…interesting?”

"The more, the merrier," Gwen responded with an enigimatic smile. "Just makes it more....hmmm, interesting. And of course we can beat them. They're the angelics." Her tone made it into a curse. She trailed after Xenia, examining her nails with an air of boredom. "A cabin? I thought we were supposed to be roughing it. It almost seems....too easy. And kind of limiting. But meh, who cares."

She easily kept pace with Xenia, breathing not accelerating in the slightest. "True. They're soft," she spat. "Do you actually have a destination in mind?" She glanced back towards the noises but didn't see anything. Turning back to the front, she mentally grinned, thinking, bring it on. I'll take everything you got and return it doubled. Letting her grin slip onto her actual face, she relished the thoughts of the upcoming days- full of opportunities to test herself, to prove herself, to show everyone that just cause she looked like some damn idiot blonde model she wasn't a weakling, wasn't soft and helpless. Just the thought sent courses of elecrticity down her skin, a barely noticible crackling gleam that emmemated from her eyes. She licked her lips thinking of the fighting, absorbing the energy without being shocked and relishing its taste on her tounge.

A slight sideways glare was all the acknowledgment Gwen gave Xenia for her first statement, and then a small, unnoticable eye roll. Of course Gwen wouldquestion her- it was in her nature. Trust rarely, admire no one, for who could be greater than she? Prideful thinking, but it was what her entire world view was based on.

Looking up the cliffs, she wrinkled her nose slightly. "See that cave,That's prefect because Droids are too big to climb and they can't fly." Xenia put her bag down and looked at Gwen. "Let's see Andy and I can fly,Wayne can climb, can you climb?" The last was directed at the blonde. "So can you, if not Andy can carry you."

Gwen glanced at the circle Andy had found. "We have two places to stay." She prefered the ground location just because it was easier for her to get to, but she wasn't going to admit it. "Maybe we should stay here, and if they find us, we head to the cliffs?" Andy was quiet, as always, even though he didn't really look like the kind of guy who would be that quiet. But that was a stereotype, and Gwen wholeheartedly denied them, so his quietness wasn't really annoying, but kind of welcome. She liked when people acted contrary to what you'd think.

"I don't really care," Gwen said, feigning disintrest. "I can climb. At the very least, I can run halfway up the thing." Despite the steepness, her enhanced speed would keep her feet attatched to the rock for a good few seconds, long enough to get her- well, maybe not quite halfway, but I'm sure I could get at least a third of the way up, and I'll just figure it out from there, she thought.

Isi

"Aww, come on Alice, I'll help you move a bed," Isi said, arbitrarily chossing one of the two rooms and tossing her bag onto one of the beds, mentally making a note to repack her bag. "Zane's too stubborn to change his mind," she said, her tone half teasing. Going into the other room she looked at the beds, hands on her hips. In her current form, a bed would be a bit heavy, but that wasn't a problem for her. She shifted just her muscles, adding mass and definition, while keeping her form the same. Bending over, she braced her hands against the footboard. "You gonna help me, Alice? Or did you want to sleep alone?" But the other girl had already left, and Isi shrugged, figuring she might as well move the bed. If she did want to sleep in a room alone, she could move it back herself. Isi effortlessly pushed the bed through the door and then into the other room, repositioning the beds to fit better, before dropping onto one and curling up for a nap.

Gwen

She dodged the bolts easily, smirking, watching the others burst into a flurry of activity. She was braced to shoot the thing with her lightning, but didn't want to hit Xenia...not that she'd be heartbroken if she accidentally shocked the girl, but killing her would be a major setback. Plus....Gwen didn't really want to kill her, didn't want her dead. She was circling around to get a clear shot off when Wayne tripped, and she burst out laughing, doubled over in mirth.

"Oh...my goodness. Can you be any more clumsy?" Gwen laughed, shooting a bolt of lightning off while she was laughing, hitting the droid's remaining functional arm and blasting it off.

((Sorry, didn't catch that last post))

She sees the Droid on the ground walks to it to make sure he's dead but he keeps moving. She smirks, takes out her black dagger and stabs him down chest. Once she done she gets up and puts her dagger away in her belt. With a smirk on her face she walks to Wayne and smiles. "Very nice job,Wayne." She saids as she hits his shoulder like you do to your friend. She does it so softly because she never really seen what you do on the outside world. She gets her stuff and spits up more blood. "Ugh,terrific." She saids in a whisper hoping no one can see her in this weak state. If there's one thing I hate it's weakness and her I am spitting up blood some leader I am. There no way we can gget up there right now. She saids as she looks at the mountain and groans. "OK,Andy Let's just go to your choice. It was a...better spot anyway." She saids as the words tast like vomit in her mouth and the taste just wont go away.

She turned her back as Wayne and Xenia finished the droid off- boring. Its almost dead already. She heard the final blow being struck, and then Xenia saying, "OK, Andy Let's just go to your choice. It was a...better spot anyway." SHe almost smiled and scaled a tree immediately, running up the trunk with no effort. Perching on a low branch, she smiled and leaned down precariously, seeming to barely hang on when in reality she was as comfortable as if she was sitting on a couch.

She was amusing herself by hanging upside-down, legs locked around the branch and hair waving down towards the ground, as first Wayne ran off, then Andy. "I'm not sleeping," Gwen muttered to herself. "Just...hanging." She almost smiled at that, before remembering to keep her face blank. She hadn't been doing to well with that lately, with not smiling. But it was a very exciting day, she thought. Still, no reason to seem weak.

From her upside-down viewpoint, she watched Andy appear out of the forest as a wolf, thinking that he looked kinda funny when you saw him upside down. He had something in his mouth, and when she realized what it was she allowed herself to drop down, flipping in midair and barely landing on her feet, heavy combat boots thunking reassuringly against the ground. Grabbing a few branches from the ground and dead brush, she made a large pile, even tossing a sizable log on the bottom. Hunkering down next to it, she spread her fingers out above the tinder, closing her eyes and focusing. A spray of sparks like stars fell from her fingertips, showering into the flammable wood and beginning a bright fire that laughed as it grew. With lightning stil running over her hand, she ran it through her hair, the strands of energy twisting around the golden hair like vines on a trellis before slowly fading.

She glanced at Andy. "I could have just shot it, but it'd probably end up burned," she said with a shrug. She was about to say more when she heard Xenia say something, and Gwen twisted around, staring at the other girl incredulously. "What did you say?!"

“Ha! Sounds like them. Stupid angelics, giving up before the fun even starts….but that kinda sucks…they couldn’t have lasted another day?” Gwen irately shot a bolt of lightning into her little fire, causing a flare of light and heat. Standing up, she kicked at the ground.

“Can we just fight them anyways?” she asked, slightly petulant. It was her way of pouting, rather than getting angry. Gwen was never really loud when she was angry, but ice cold and ready to fight. It was when she wasn’t acting angry that you had to be worried. Lightning sparked randomly along her body, not strong enough to cause real harm, but it would still give anyone who got to close a nasty shock.

She smiles "Maybe, but like I said who knows with them." She saids shrugging. "Look i'm gonna get to sleep so in case we do have to fight them. So good Night." She saids as she smiles as she climbs in the tree that has her bag. She doesn't really sleep but she acts like she does, just in case Wayne was there and wanted to tell the others about her little talk with Zander. I have to tell Wayne. I can trust him, I know I can.She saids as she looks down and lets her feet dangle from the tree. She sighs and shakes her head knowing that somthing bad was going to happen.

Gwen

She just shrugged at Andy's freak out- let them come. I'll take 'em down, she thought, keeping half an eye on Wayne and Xenia as they left. When they didn't come back, and Andy left as well, Gwen remained where she was, with the scattered embers of a fire and a dead fox. The embers were still hot, though not bright, and she decided she might as well try to cook it on those before zapping it with lightning. She might accidentally set it one fire. Sitting next to the embers, the rabbit on a spit, she hummed softly to herself and finger-combed her hair, quite bored. After turning the spit, she grabbed her deck of cards and laied out a game of solitare, wondering how long it would be before they came back or something else interesting happened.

That wakes Xeina up and a cold scream comes out her throat. They tighten the grip on both of them and take them to their camp. They throw them to the ground and wake up the others. Isi

Isi woke up to find herself in the grasp of a demon. At least, thats what it seemed like to her, being held by her hair, shaken until it felt like her head would split open. Biting back a scream, Isi retracted her hair until she slipped out of the droid's grasp, falling to the floor. She shook her head, grasping her temples as her hair grew back as if on fast-forward. Scrambling away, her back hit a wall and she stared up in horror, mind frantically trying to come up with a strategy. I can't use fire, it'd burn Alice and Zander, is there a form I can use? Brute strength might work, or speed...

Gwen

Belly full- no one had come back, so she'd eaten some of the fox and wrapped the rest in leaves, tucking it in the crook of a tree- and fast asleep in a tree, too tired to keep watch, Gwen woke up with a start at the droid attack, dropping out of the tree ready to fight back, until she saw the overwhelming numbers, all with guns ready to shoot herself and her teammates. Tense and afraid-though she'd never admit as much- lightning shimmered over the girl, sparking out and making popping and hissing noises, wanting to streak through the air and strike the droids, but reamining on her form. She slid a glance towards the others, unsure of what to do.

Xeina
She looks at Andy and nods as she runs trying to find Wayne. "Wayne, look I now you hate me but where are you?" She saids as she looks for Wayne hoping he wasn't captured. "Wayne where-" is what she can say before grabed by the neck. She trys to get the Droid's hand off her neck so she can breath but starts to get weaker. "Let me go." She whispers before she starts to close her eyes from not getting oxygen in her body. "You know I could break your neck like a toothpick, right? And this could have been avoided if you just kept your yap shut." said , the Droid as he tightens the grip on her throat. Before being knocked out she sends Wayne a message. 'I'm sorry but help me. Please.'. She starts to see darkness and starts to let her body go. Not dead but knocked out.

Zander
He feels pain coming from his head and wakes up by being thrown to the ground. "Are you guys ok?" He asks as he kicks the Droid to the ground. He feels blood coming from his scalpe but can't check right now. He helps Alice get up and cloaks all 3 of them so they can escape or at least get ahead a little. "This way." He whispers as heads away fro their cabin. As he trying to get away from the cabin he see a Droid holding something. He looks closer and it's Xeina. 'I can't I have to keep them safe. They're my team.' He thinks to his self as he thinks if he should help her or leave her there.

Gwen

Andy appeared seemingly out of nowhere, as a wolf, and attacked the droids surrounding Gwen. She sprang into action at his appearance, calling lightning down from the sky, thunder booming at the sudden electrical charge. A storm had been hovering in the air already, drawn by Gwen's power and the lightning she used so often, or else she wouldn't have been able to do this. Streaks of lightning fell from the sky, many hitting the droids as she concentrated fiercely on directing the spears of energy away from her and into the metal bodies. Many of them dropped, smoking, remaints or electricity crackling over their frames and scorching the grass. Andy's whine was almost drowned out by the roar of thunder, but when Gwen heard it, she spun, letting out a scream and charging straight at the droid, all thought gone. SHe blurred into streaked-fast motion, lightning streaming behind her, and slammed into the droid, hopefully knocking Andy free as she and the droid went flying, scorched metal-smells rising, and they slammed into a tree, hard enough to daze Gwen as she fell to the ground. No longer directing the lightning, the largest bolt yet lanced towards her, striking her and she gasped, absorbing it, but itwas too much. She tried to rise, ground bursting into flame under her feet, but she fell back again, shaking, as the lightning suddenly subsided, rain spattering down lightly. Gwen sat helpless, dazed by the energy she had absorbed, too much for her body, and felt like she was going to faint. "Andy....?" she whispered, wondering if the droids were gone but not able to form the entire sentence.

Isi

Isi followed Zander silently, moving cat-quiet over the ground, in her natural form, though she darkened her hair and skin so she could blend into the shadows easier once he stopped cloaking them. She saw the droid a second after Zander did, noticing the strage girl, and she snarled, realizing that she was one of the ragers. For a second, Isi thought to leave the girl, but with a frown, decided the odds were better with more people. "Zander," Isi whispered, "we're stronger with more people." Concentrating, she held out both hands, and summoned fire, blazing from her palms in a tight rope of flame, striking the droid in the head and cooking his control system, making him fall to the ground, dead. Looking at the girl, she whispered, "Is she dead?"

Gwen

She bared her teeth at the angelics, breathing shallowly, and finally released a massive lightning bolt into the sky, alleviating some of the pressure. She barely glanced at Xenia, wondering if the other girl was dead, and what the angelics were planning on doing with her. If it came down to it, Gwen would leave the others and run- probably. Andy got himself beat up for you, Gwen! You owe him something. Standing slowly- still a bit unsteady- she glared at the angelics relentlessly.

"She's barely breathing. I didn't know what else to do but bring her here. Where's the onther one. There are suppost to be four of you, I only see three." It was Zander speaking, the white haired leader. She paused, glancing around. WHen she didn't see Andy she shrugged, fiegning disintrest, glad that at least one of them was out of sight. She didn't recognize one of the girls, a dark-haired girl with skin that was a few shades darker than tan (Isi, she changed her appearance FYI) and another, who she thought was named Alice, or Amy, or who really cared. "I don't know if you know how to heal someone but sadly I don't and neither do my team mates."

Gwen glanced back at Zander, then walked forward slowly, not trusting any of them. She crouched next to Xenia, poking at her arm curiously. When the other girl didn't stir, she frowned and looked at the white-haired angel. "Nope. Not a clue. Anything you can do, Andy?" Going to her bag, she grabbed a shirt she wasn't fond of, and began to tear it up. "You want me to try bandaging you up while I'm playing at nurse? And can one of you get some water? There's a stream over there somewhere." SHe pointed vaugely, gesturing at the angelics to go. Don't mess this up Gwen, you're the only one they've got. Besides, it can't be too hard, right? Not for you. With a savage grin, she set to work.
