Ocenia

Yes I'm a princess, but that doesn't mean I can't handle myself.

a character in “The Tale of Three Worlds”, as played by Fatal_Flaw_Enki

Description

Age: 22
Type: Beastly humanoid/ human mix

She has very fair skin, one of the palest in her current country. She stands about 5'7" and has a slim curved figure. Her eyes are a beautiful blue-green that typically matches the oceans of Ophidia. Her hair is cropped short and has a messy look to it. A golden woven beret given to her by her mother is always in her hair to keep some of the stray strands from falling into her face during battle. It is often that she carries a winged staff made out of the finest blue gold with the design in a metallic silver. Between the middle of the sphere that has the two wings a top it are little flecks of light that float within, moving from side to side at all times. These flecks resemble the life force of her rod. Her clothing, due to her status, is very elegant. With rich colors of red, flowering designs in the patter of blues and silvers. She typically wears a skirt that parts in the front attached to a pair of shorts that are in the same type of material. She wears fine jewelry at times, but not often because she doesn't want to damage anything that has coast too much money.

Image

Ocenia, unlike some of the natural Vall and humans was blessed with two forms. Her Vall form does not occur often, typically only during very stressful events or battles. This form has even paler tones than her human form and is blessed with a set of wings whiter than the first fallen snows of Ophidia. Her hair grows to about mid-waist and holds a very pale white that seems grey in comparison to her beautiful wings. Typically she would be in the same clothing that she would wear around the palace, but to trick some of her caretakers Ocenia had figured out how to warp her magical abilities to change the clothing to a tatter old grey dress that fit to her body almost perfectly. It flows around her like a ghost reflection to what she has become. The only person who knows about this alternate form at her palace would be her Professor Ka'dar. It was a secret that was kept to the two of them so not to frighten the people of Ophidia more.

Personality

Ocenia is a very shy person at first. This has grown into her because she was use to her father dealing with a lot of people and telling her to listen instead of talk. With this she has grown into a very quiet young woman, though she will speak to those she has grown fond of, gotten to know, or when she is angry. Once Ocenia opens herself up to those around her she is a very sweet loving person who wishes that the small battles that play out between the three kingdoms would fall short allowing peace to travel throughout the lands, though these are similar ideals to her mother. When agitated, Ocenia will lash out, often using magic that typically causes more annoyances.

Ocenia is also known to the people as a "Peaceful Spirit" this is due to her abilities to control the emotional levels in the room. Often she uses a flute that she keeps on her at all times to play music to sooth the souls of the irritated. This goes along with her personal opinion to bring balance and peace to the three realms.

Though Ocenia is known for these personality behaviors she does have an alternate side to herself as well. Involved in her fighting she can change from her human form to a form more like her Vall nature, a blessing and a curse her Professor has informed her. This change in her body also effects her personality, making her a little harder to deal with. She becomes more blunt with her words and typically ignores even more instructions than her normal personality would. In this form as well she uses her music to consume people to the point of controlling their own body to her will. This is how she typically tries to win battles, though if the music goes unheard she is not able to control the bodies. At times this form can stick with the princess for a few days, though it usually wares off when she is out of danger.

Equipment

Her elegant clothes that her parents provide her. The beautiful staff that was made for her to use her magical abilities. A small flute, this is with her at all times because her main magical ability is to calm people with the music she produces. She is known as a peaceful spirit for a reason. Another object she keeps with her at all times is the beret in her hair that was given to her by her biological mother.

Training

Ocenia is a magi in her abilities, meaning she can use magical properties. Her main source of power comes from music which she omits through a small flute that she keeps on her person. Ocenia was trained well by person tutors in both magic and combat, though she would prefer to stay out of fights and work on the sidelines with her abilities. At one point her father had pointed Yo'Von as her personal trainer to bring up her own experience in weaponry. Through a lot of hard work he managed to help her work with some daggers of her own, the only weapons she could move with freely without harming herself along with anyone else. But her main training came from a Professor Ka'dar from the Opal Spire who specialized in healing and water properties. Soon she mastered many different abilities that keep her on her toes with everyone. The people may love her, but she can only show so much power before they begin to fear her for all the magic she holds dear to her.

In her private lesson she had also unlocked an ability that shocked both her and her professor. She was able to break the seal from her human body and turn into her Vall counterpart. This was achieved through irritation and anger. Because Ocenia is often a calm person, her professor started to try and train her to control her counterpart. With this he was able to bring trigger memories to bring out the woman that was hidden deep within the princess, once she mastered this she was able to change at will to the Snow Angel, as they called her. Though before she decided to disappear on the castle they were still trying to figure out how to return her to her natural state without having to wait for the effects to ware off.

History

Ocenia was born in Konclave to a human mother who had mated with a beastly-humanoid from the Herth. Upon realizing that their daughter had given birth to a child with a beastly father, Ocenia's biological mother was thrown out of her own home. With a small baby girl in her arms the new mother had no idea what to do with the child, but she knew they would not both survive out in the cold of winter. Traveling for the longest time the mother managed to find people helped her travel to Ophidia. Within the Realm of Order, Ocenia's mother tried to find a good home for her daughter, but no one wanted a Konclave child in their home, let alone a Konclave child that had dabbled in some Herth blood as well.

Beginning to lose hope that her child would ever leave a peaceful happy life, the new mother heard rumors that the King and Queen of Ophidia were having troubles giving birth to their own children. The queen had many miscarriages and was soon declared unable to had children. Hope had been lost for the king and queen, but the mother had an idea. She made her way to the castle and was able to convince a guard to let her speak with a maid. The maid agreed to the pleading mother's wishes and told her to stay at the front gate while she presented the lovely child to the queen and her king. As soon as the woman vanished into the doors of the castle, the new mother made her way into the crowds and vanished. She would never know what happened to that lovely red-brown haired child of hers.

The queen was shocked to hear what the maid had to say about the lovely little girl in her hands. She responded with a yes at first, but then demanded to speak with the mother to find out reasons for wanting to depart from her own child, but the maid was never able to find the lady. Worried that the child would die without her help and excited to finally have a child to call her own, the queen accepted the vanishing woman's wishes and raised the child of her own. At first this caused protest from the people of Ophidia, but they soon noticed the love and kindness their queen and king showed to this child and accept the young girl to be their princess. Now Ocenia is a well-known magician in Ophidia. She is known for her water, ice, and healing abilities along with her calming musical abilities. People sometimes worry that the princess could use her music to force people to fight, but the young woman has not tried this and doesn't plan to anytime soon if possible.

Now at the age of 22 she wonders about herself and the vanishing woman that was her biological mother. The queen and king never hid who the girl really was. She knew that her mother was human, but wondered what her father was. Due to her magical touch she thought he could have been an Orlary, but she does not look remotely similar to the Orlary people. Instead she came down to the conclusion that he may have been another human or even a Vall with a beastly twist. She discovered this after one night of playing her flute when the queen, her mother, stepped into her bedroom and claimed to see faint wings on the young girl's back. This caused her more curiosity from that point to where she started to talk to her tutor about her mother's claims. Within a few months of her birthday they were able to discover ways to change her into her Vall form, but not completely figure out how to return her back to normal before she decided to follow after Von.

Ocenia decided to follow Yo'Von one day after a summoning from her father. It had been after a large upset between the three family members. Deciding that she wanted to learn more about her true parents, she argued that traveling through the realms would be the only way to discover who she really was, though her father had to argue. His argument stated that she was now the daughter of a very well-known king and queen who would soon need an heir to replace them. Though Ocenia was not their biological daughter she was the absolute closest relative the queen and king had to keeping their name on the throne. It had also been a very rough time for them as well to have the young woman claiming to find out more about her heritage since the council in Ophidia were attempting to converse with the king on said matters anyway. When Yo'Von had been summoned to the palace, Ocenia took this opportunity to sneak away with him without his realization. She had taken a few coins that would keep her healthy in food and supplies along with places to sleep. Though at one point in their travels the princess had gotten the wrong times on a departure and was separated from the man she was staying so close to. It was weeks before she heard about the Wind Spire departing from Konclave that she decided to hop aboard. It did not matter where it took her, she just needed to move from the Brass City for she had already found as much information as she could in this single location.

So begins...

A twist of pain grasped the vall's stomach as she board the ship with Vorra in tow. It was then that she realized what hungry really felt like, she had always heard the whispers of Ocenia's mind alerting the woman of her own needs, but now Layla was in control of the sensor that supported a very famished body. Glancing around the deck as it set sail she remembered the route that she took to find the kitchen on her first venture on the sky mire.

Soon she found herself below deck in earshot of the dining hall and kitchen. The door slowly creaked open under the pressure of her hand before she came face to face with four faces, three of which calculated under friend while one reeked the fowl odor of a foe. Her icy gaze narrowed at his as he and Keyra spoke to one another without mind to her own arrival. "Though not all of us are in such shape..." she spat for a moment at the man before her gaze shifted over everyone in the room. With her own ability to heal, it came to her that the pain the others suffered bothered her instincts, but her hunger preceded their discomfort. She strolled across the room to a table with fruits and began to plop them into her mouth one at a time, closing her eyes as she enjoyed the sweet and sour of each juice. Her wings relaxed and her hair shifted on her back as she moved.

"Why..." she said in between bites, "are we keeping that scum on the ship anyway? He was trying to kill Ocenia..." her voice bit into the room as her eyes found the captain. It was then that she remembered Gavyn once more and wondered how he was doing in his room.

Sevral looked up as he heard the door open, his gaze moving over Keyra's shoulder to where the Assassin stood. Immediately the man stopped with his work, standing quickly but not yet moving across the room. He didn't seem to be in any condition for combat, but still the man was ready as one hand wrapped firmly around the hilt of one of his swords which still laid on the table before him.

“So, who decided to start this party without me?” he had said before taking a seat.

The swordsman simply rolled his eyes and grit his teeth, trying to not send back a remark he so wished he could. Adjusting his line of sight for a moment, Sevral watched as Keyra turned abruptly, her hand moving to where he sword should be, if it was there. Only when the vall fell forward is when Sevral moved, though he took up one of his swords before doing so.

Kneeling next to her, Sevral looked to the Assassin as he stood, and shot him a look that could've just killed him on the spot. Unfortunately that didn't happen, and he simply watched as the mage took a step forward, only to end up in most the same position as the woman whom was currently voicing Sevral's own opinions too. The mage's rebuttal was far from comforting, nor did they make up for anything he'd done in the past. It seemed he was almost pitying everyone, including himself, but Sevral felt no reason to be sorry. “I’m Dean by the way. I don’t know why it matters, or why I’m even bothering with telling you anything, but I suppose it’s the pain speaking," he finished. Sevral was about to say something, but this time Oc-- Layla, spoke up.

"Though not all of us are in such shape..." The man glanced back, watching the woman.. Vall, for a moment as she moved around the room, taking up several pieces of fruit before continuing. "Why..." she said in between bites, "are we keeping that scum on the ship anyway? He was trying to kill Ocenia..."

With that, Sevral looked to Von. He was wondering the same thing as well, it didn't make much sense, but he wouldn't question Von if he had a good reason. The assassin was obviously wounded, he even stated so, but then again his words were meaningless. Still, no matter how much Sevral wished to relieve the man's shoulders of the heavy weight of his head, he had a fair side to him, and wouldn't strike down a man unable to fight back. That's part of the reason he couldn't... No, now wasn't the time for those thoughts, but if Von was keeping him because he was wounded, Sevral felt it would better serve everyone's greatest interests if he was simply dumped off at the nearest village. What happened after that was none of his concern.

Sevral shook his head in distaste at the prone mage and then looked to Keyra, helping her into a sitting position and then slowly standing her up, wrapping one arm around her to support her. "Well, Dean..." he said, not really trying to hide the acid in his tone, "For whatever power that has granted you the permission to continue on living, you should thank them." The man was looking at the wound in his shoulder that his sword had inflicted, and frowning with the fact that it was a mere inches just above his heart. The passing through the snowy Vall's wings had altered it's trajectory just enough to allow the man to continue on. "Personally I don't see you as worthy of receiving such a reprieve, but so be it." He paused, thinking on something a moment before continuing, though addressing Von now. "How long is he going to be with us, Captain?"

Keyra watched as the mage introduced himself, her scowl growing as she glared at him with deadly intent. Then the Princess walked in, she was in her Vall form, so Keyra knew that the woman was no longer Ocenia but someone else entirely. The beautiful Vall swept passed them all and helped herself to a bit of food before confronting the situation. Her lips asked the question that was on Keyra's mind.

Sevral started to help her up then after looking between them all. She figured that the swordsmith was trying to evaluate the situation, though the cold look in his eyes directed towards the mage was one that even she didn't know he could possess. As they stood, the young man put his arm around her, supporting her firmly as she stood and tried to get her balance back as well as some of her pride. The broken ribs were painful enough, but having been beating to nothing at all by the assassin in front of her was an outrage in and of itself. Her eyes flicked to Sevral's sword which he held in hand. For a mere moment she thought of simply unsheathing the sword and going after the assassin. Keyra almost did as she thought, her hand twitching with the thought and the anticipation of running the weapon straight through the one who called himself 'Dean'.

"Well, Dean... For whatever power that has granted you the permission to continue on living, you should thank them. Personally I don't see you as worthy of receiving such a reprieve, but so be it. How long is he going to be with us, Captain?"

Keyra frowned and turned just enough so she could see their Captain still seated at the table whilst in the strong hold of the swordmaster. She raised an eyebrow at him in question but didn't ask as the other two had already done so for her. Instead she voiced her opinion on what should be done with the traitor.

"I say we leave him at the next possible opportunity. Let him find his own way in the wilds of Herth, it will be sure to kill him in no time," she ground bitterly, "Nothing good ever comes from having a traitor amongst company."

Von looked across the table at Keyra after she spoke with response to Dean entering the room, it was strange that he was still on the ship and seeing that he was an Elf it struck Von that it was most likely Wyn who allowed him to stay.
He cast an eye towards the back of the young woman's head as she continued to stir the contents of the kettle, the fact was not lost on him that she was with a soft heart due to her age and upbringing but Von could not hold that against her.

He only looked back at Keyra and spoke.."Its alright for now seeing as he is rather at the mercy of whatever could happen" Von raised his glass once more to his lips and took a small sip "But then again he was the one being betrayed in the first place and didn't you ever hear the saying?.. A sellsword can never turn on you unless you pay him to.
He wipes a bit of stray liquid from his mouth and slyly shows his grin.."So the moment he was on board they should have known better of him."

Von slid his vision to the side to see the angel still ravenously eating as if she had been starved for years and recalled what she spoke of him as well.
"Well of course he would try to do such a thing, its what he was payed to do.. but now that his employer is for lack of a better word detached from the contract I think he has gotten some breathing room for now."

Layla's icy gaze narrowed at the captain, but deep down she knew he was right. An assassin of any type lived by their code, which typically was backed by hard earned money. Taking a couple more bites out of the delicious fruits, the snow angel stepped toward the table and accessed her companions again. The feeling began to rise in her chest that she had at least made a few enemies out of those that tried to help her counter part; however, this could not have been avoided due to the large natural change in their personal abilities and personalities. It was then that she wished she could pull out the lovely silver flute and play a hymen as soft and peaceful as Princess Ocenia.

Instead, the angel decided to try an ability that Ocenia held closer to her heart, allowing the room to breath a moment before her icy magic slithered over the others in the room to mend their broken bones. It was all she could bare, the cracking of her own ribs and some fractures to her limbs as she concentrated on their own injuries. Soon Keyra was able to breath, without fear that the cracked rib would nick a precious organ, even Dean could feel his own wounds mending while Layla took them as her own. It was soon a little more than she could bare before the air warmed once more and the angel leaned against the counter. For a moment she felt Ocenia stir deep within her mind, but it was only a moment and the princess vanished again.

"I'm gonna... go check on Gavyn," she whispered. Each step was harder than she had imagined, but soon she found her way out the kitchen door and into the halls of the Wind Mire. With every movement Layla had to reassure herself that healing the others was well worth her own pain, but it was difficult with her own selfish personality. Everything told her to return the pain to their owners, but if Ocenia, the weak princess, could handle the pain of others than Layla would be able to as well. And now she stood staring at Gavyn's door.

Von can feel the air in the room getting lite as a mist of cool sensations begin to work up his spine.
It was at that point he could tell that it was the angel doing this and in some way he was happy that she was doing something that wouldn't just serve herself, however it would have been nice that she spoke out about this before had.

But for the moment the effects of the spell like power was enough to wane his thoughts on that subject as he could feel the swelling around his chest lessen and the bandages start to slide down under his shirt.
The angel stood and looked around before saying she was going to check on Gavyn, Von was certain there were aspects of her personality that she shared with Ocenia. Or else she wouldn't be worried about the man most likely still asleep in his quarters.

Her steps leaving the kitchen were soon replaced by another set coming towards the door and Rioma's large form filled the doorway, dropping herself a bit to make it through the opening she moved into the kitchen.."Captain... We are back on course and will be over the marshlands in several hours." She has several objects in the grasp of her two lower arms while it seems she was using her free hands to operate doors and the such.
Rioma makes her way to the side of the table and edges herself over towards Von as she take a large scroll which as she unrolled it turned out to be a map containing several sections of Herths landscape.

"From the package the council left us we should be heading here.." She pokes the paper on a marker that only reads the name Cassadine. Von leans over and take another sip as he looks at the small black dot that indicates the city's location and smirks. "They said that we were heading towards a city, Cassadine is anything but." He leans back in his chair and takes another small bite of his handheld meal and looks at both Sevral and Keyra.
"Around ten years ago that place was one of the smallest towns that province of Herth contained.. barely around two hundred living there and not many homes to speak of."

Rioma rolls the map back up and tucks it back under her arm along with the other items she held and turns to leave only stopping to speak when she makes it to the door. "Izzy says we should be there in less then thirteen hours, so I suggest you all get some rest."

"Its alright for now seeing as he is rather at the mercy of whatever could happen. But then again he was the one being betrayed in the first place and didn't you ever hear the saying?.. A sellsword can never turn on you unless you pay him to. So the moment he was on board they should have known better of him," Von said. Then addressing Ocenia, or rather Layla as it were, he added, "Well of course he would try to do such a thing, its what he was payed to do.. but now that his employer is for lack of a better word detached from the contract I think he has gotten some breathing room for now."

Sevral had to admit he was right. The assassin was probably no threat currently considering the one who'd hired him had simply blown him off, and then gotten blown up. And then now, considering all the circumstances, it wasn't worth killing anyone else, unless of course he had some grudge against having a sword, knife or whatever else hit him in combat, but that was simply an occupational hazard. It came and went with the contract, he supposed.

Suddenly though, the swordsman was dragged from his contemplation as the room went cold. A chill ran up his spine not just because of the fact that the icy magic was once more being expelled, but because he wasn't sure if it meant that once more the woman was going to begin a blizzard for whatever reason. When instead the man found that Layla was helping everyone, mending them in exchange for taking on their injuries, Sevral had to say he was shocked. That hardly seemed like the Vall he knew, the one whose soul seemed to be as cold as the magic she wielded.

Looking to Keyra, he loosed his grip slightly, smiling as it seemed her ribs were once more intact, allowing her to breath without whatever pain surging through her. Of course though, he still didn't really want to let her go, for fear that perhaps Layla might undo whatever she did, if it were possibly, and also because he enjoyed holding her so close to him. Her presence, especially now that she was well once more, was one that brought a warm, calming feeling, contrary to the hateful, vengeful one he got from the mage who really didn't deserve what he'd just received. Fully healed, the man would do everything in his power to ensure she stayed that way. Pulling her closer in a sort of one armed hug, he then looked towards Layla as she departed. He made a mental note to thank her, then turned as Rioma entered, having to stoop under the doorway to keep from hitting her head.

Unrolling a large map, Sevral took it in as the woman began speaking, updating Von about the progression and doings of his crew, while also pointing out their current location, and then where they were going, a place deemed the marshlands.

"They said that we were heading towards a city, Cassadine is anything but. Around ten years ago that place was one of the smallest towns that province of Herth contained.. barely around two hundred living there and not many homes to speak of."

Raising an eyebrow, the man acknowledged the statement, but didn't do anything else, simply because he wasn't entirely sure how to respond. It didn't really intrigue him all too much, and seemed to be more of an information statement. Nodding, he assumed that would at least suffice.

"Izzy says we should be there in less then thirteen hours, so I suggest you all get some rest."

"Ah, thank goodness..." Sevral said happily, nodding again as he looked down towards the blue-haired Vall, unable to resist smiling. "Would Miss Keyra like an escort to her room?"

Keyra felt the cold wash over her and she wasn't sure as to how to react to it. That was, until it had started to take away all of her pain. The ribs in her body pulled together, causing a bit of grinding of her teeth in response, but otherwise she felt nothing else. Her burns, cuts and gashes seemed to wash away also. There was nothing left of the earlier pain, no strain at all in her limbs. Even her wings were energized. The white limbs pulled upwards, straightening against her back in their proper position once more. Without even realizing, she'd released a sigh of relief as she leaned against Sevral.

His grip around her waist lightened, he he didn't release her. The Vall didn't mind either, in fact she rather enjoyed his embrace. He smiled down at her, to which she returned it. A second later and she felt him pull her tighter against him, an embrace that warm and affectionate all at the same time. It caused a slight blush to fill her cheeks, but it didn't last long as Rioma crowded the doorway and moved into the room to speak with their esteemed Captain.

A map rolled out and caught Keyra's attention. She turned and looked at the layout, nodding at the mention of Cassadine. She'd been there a few times before, a small village at best. It wasn't even worth calling a 'town' the population was so slim. Why some considered Cassadine a 'city' she would never know, but to the people of Herth, it was a village, and it usually didn't see many visitors either. The marshlands were large, filled with creatures that tore through any who didn't know anything better, and was the reason for Cassadine's small population and lack of traders. Those who lived there were brave, strong and knew how to manage life in a dangerous place such as that. The marshes were unforgiving.

At the mention of resting, Keyra found herself enjoying that idea, however she didn't feel like sleeping at all. Sitting down and relaxing wasn't off the table though. Of course, other ideas came to mind, one of which involved her finding her weapon and sparing up on the deck once more. It had been a little while since she'd practiced, of course having just fought terribly for several hours might be equivalent enough.

It wasn't until Sevral spoke to her that she figured going back to her room wasn't a bad idea. Especially if he came with her. Spending more time with him just seemed much more important at the moment. Who knew what would possibly happen in the following days? Would she ever get that precious time again? Probably not. Turning to him, she smiled and nodded lightly.

"If you wish," she said and gently removed herself from his grip. She moved towards the door, ignoring the mage entirely. Keyra didn't want to think about having him on board the ship. However, if the Captain said it was alright, she would find a way to deal with it. Treating him like air was probably best, at least until he proved himself worthy enough to be on board and amongst everyone else.

Her thoughts turned to Ocenia who had healed her... or rather Layla who had done so. The woman was as cold as ever, but her small act of kindness was not going to go unnoticed by Keyra. When she had the chance, she would thank the woman properly, and hopefully the Vall princess wouldn't try to kill her again. Though it was a bit hard to ignore that fact. Keyra frowned as she reached her door and gently pushed it open.

She pushed aside the ill thoughts, her wings twitching with her agitation. Moving inside she turned to Sevral who stood outside the door. A sly grin formed on her lips as she shot out her hand and pulled him inside swiftly. Quickly closing the door, she threw the lock and held him against it firmly. Her wings outstretched, released from their prone position earlier. It felt good to have their power back. A slight flap of her white wings brought her right against the taller man and she lifted her face to look at him.

"Now, I do believe we were in the middle of something earlier, weren't we?" She asked softly, her fingers once again undoing the ties to his shirt, "This time, I won't let you get away so easily," she took a slow breath, "And no one will be bothering us now." Her smile grew as she leaned forward and kissed him deeply.

Von was sure the city would be a nice place to see what was going on with all this fuss that the people of Herth were having. He leaned into the table from his seat and took a few looks at the map that Rioma had stretched out for them all. "Alright.. we need to go to the port and then after landing we can hit the governors manner for that other item. Besides while we are there we can still look around and talk to whoever we need to speak with."

The angels magical effects were still lingering in the room as he spoke and he could still feel the slight chill in the air as he leaned back.
"Rioma.. go ahead and inform the crew that when we land everyone should keep alert. I don't want anyone jumping on baord with us." She gave a hearty nod of her head as she stood and walked her way out of the room and turned to exit the corridor outside.

Von rubbed the side of his neck and looked at the others, seeing that Keyra & Sevral had already moved on her glanced at the others.
"Alright.. any other questions before we turn in?"

The door looked so foreign to her as she stared at the wood that separated her from Gavyn. Had it not been long ago that she meet him as the princess who now hides in the caverns of their mind? Had she not listened to him when her emotional power was on high and she could not control her vall powers? He had been the only one on the ship that seemed to understand or try to understand her point in the whole mess the princess had gotten them into. Now Gavyn seemed further away than ever even in his sleep, and she could tell that the princess refused to resurface even with every soft whisper Layla sent her way. Taking in a deep breath, the vall turned away from the door and steadily headed down the hall toward the captain's room.

She'll return... and he'll be there... the man with the silver eyes flashed before her mind as she pushed into Von's bedroom. She could feel the dark power that boiled underneath her icy features, but could not understand where the man had come from. When did he first come to them? In the bridge betweent he worlds? He only seemed to nod his head when she visualized him. With a soft sigh she fell back on the bed and stared up at the ceiling.
