The mahogany double doors of the mansion's kitchen opened slowly as Simeon sat cross-legged on the ground trying to figure out how to cook. Unfortunately he was failing miserably. He had heard Father; well he had heard his guardian saying that they were to receive new slaves, one of them was to be the cook. Also the cook was to be Simeon's "personal" slave.

Simeon stroked the cool marble of the floor as he stood, his tail lightly brushing against it causing him to shiver ever-so-slightly. He grinned to himself as he laid his hand down on the counter-tops, they were a thick smokey glass, mainly for decoration. His mother had loved to make everything look artistic. Simeon felt a sharp pain in his chest from thoughts of his mother. Pushing those aside he began readying the kitchen for the new cook.

Sure, doing that was pointless but he felt like they should feel welcome. Odd but he had always fancied humans the most amazing creatures. He then heard voices, Lucius, and then about four other voices explaining professionally name, skill, and who they had been assigned to. Simeon ran his fingers through his hair and opened the doors into the foyer where his Father and four others were standing.

"Uh, what's all this?" Simeon asked closing the doors behind him carefully. He wondered briefly what Lucius would say, Simeon then realized he had been interrupting Lucius wouldn't like that. . . Not at all.

Lucius Dregori

Lucius grunted in his office when the papers were finally written and filled out. Sure he'd given in to his children's- Dydo's in particular interest in humans. With a sigh the four papers were grouped, folded and sealed without the demon moving his hands once. Ignoring the rest of the mess, Lucius stood and advanced through his estate from his office through his wing and into the main hall and finally out the front door for some air prior to the arrival of his new purchase.

The letter contents themselves were simple, a minor game of his concoction to ensure he himself didn't get bored with the purchase. The humans would find a labeled map of his sizable home and ground and a message reading. Humans may seek freedom through the attempt at the lives of the individuals Lucius and Simeon Dregori the rules are as follows: the girls and other staff are off limits and may not be targeted, communal areas (marked on map) are off limits as are family meals (everyone will be present), loss of this memo results in disqualification. Should an assassination attempt upon Simeon be successful, said individual shall be granted their freedom. In the event of Lucius being taken out, all participants shall be freed. The memo then bore his signature and seal for proof of authenticity. His wait at the entrance with his four envelopes was not long.

"Take and envelope, and peruse the contents at you leisure. Should you have questions, I shall answer them in the evening. Once we're inside, we can discuss the more important matters." Lucius didn't expect to have long before his children made their own entrance. In time with his words, Lucius again used his power to move the envelopes before the four humans. In an almost impatient manner he strode into the main hall before continuing.

"Whether you care or not, I am Lucius Dregori, put simply the one in charge around here. Perhaps you've heard of my exploits four centuries past, perhaps not. Regardless, welcome to my home and I look forward to your service-I'd like your names and any skills." Having kept his face expressionless until this point, Lucius finally allowed a smile to form, and regardless of his intentions Lucius wasn't letting his kids slack around and waste the humans. He'd barely managed to finish listening to them all before Simeon entered with a question of his own. Following a sharp intake to mask his irritations at the interruption, Lucius answered.

"Think child, I've acquired some humans and humans aren't some kind of simple pet. Naturally I'm conducting and interview to 'gift' them based on ability and interests. By the way, Senna you're with him." Lucius settled with merely waiting in place for his daughters to make an entrance of their own before arbitrarily sending off their picks.

"Raymond, you will be with my eldest child Dydo and Matt will be with Chou my youngest. I trust I've no need for further elaboration there." Lucius didn't bother hiding the hostility in his voice with the second sentence. "Sadly Rae, I guess that means you're stuck with me"

Slave. It was a word that was to become the identity of the small red-headed girl known by the name Senna Walburg. Nary two weeks had passed since the raid on her town, leaving her one of very few survivors. And now she had ended up here, in a lineup with three others in front of the most infamous demon she could recall from her studies. Leaning forward enough to peer left and right, she tried comparing the others and only ended with a soft sigh of disappointment. "Taller than me... all of them..." She shook her head at her newfound disappointment only to see a letter in her face. She raised a curious eyebrow and reache out to take it. Quickly unsealing it, fearing what might happen if she didn't, she unfolded the paper that lay inside and read it.

An invitation to rebel? The small girl's grip on the paper caused some crumpling in the sides at the thought. Her? Rebelling? She immediately told herself no. It was too risky. Maybe if she was lucky, someone would take out Lucius. But her... no, she wasn't planning anything. As long as she could make it through another day, she would grin and bear everything that came her way. Looking up from the letter, her mouth now took the shape of a smile. It was not malicious or ambitious, but seemed genuinely... sweet. Perhaps very odd for someone in her situation. The man known as Lucius had a power she could not quite deny. Without even being anything special for a human, she could feel something strange in his presence. Something awful, something that dared her to step out of line to see what the consequences would be. She wanted to cry in fear. But she only smiled.

He led them further inside after more introductions and began his own introduction. "My name is Senna Walburg, sir Lucius. I do not have much in the way of talents, but I am very good at preparing simple meals. I could also take care of cleaning if needed. I was also a good student in my old town and I am good at memorizing and writing. I'll do whatever is asked of me, sir." She sounded respectful, aware of her position. But there was an obvious uneasiness to her voice as she obeyed the demon in giving him her name. The others gave their introductions as well, followed by a black-haired pale boy entering the room. His ears had something of a point to them. He was definitely a demon. Some combined fear and anger dwelled within her at the sight of him and the realization finally hitting her that she was in a demon household. The demon household. There were others, too... She didn't let it show on the outside, but her feelings were mixed.

Her head snapped to attention as Lucius mentioned that this was the person she was to be serving. She quickly bowed and nodded profusely. "Y-Yes, sir! I will do my best to serve him and your family." He then told the others who they would be serving. By process of elimination, she deduced that the boy who entered was Simeon. One of the two who could be targeted for assassination. Somehow this put her at ease. She breathed a sigh of relief before rising from her bow. She could guarantee that at the least he wouldn't be killed. Not by her. Death, violence, it was all pointless to her. Even if the reward was freedom.

Looking at him, Simeon didn't seem hostile. But it was still too early for her to make any judgments on him. But she would be stuck with him, doing whatever it is he wanted. She hoped, prayed even, that he would be merciful to her. She agreed to this slavery in exchange for her life and had no intention of killing him. Perhaps Karma would be in her favor... She felt so small here. Not just in regards to her diminutive stature, but in status. She felt so little, so absolutely scared. At the very least, she hoped he would only request reasonable things of her. With what she had read, with the stories she had heard about demons, she prayed that this boy was an exception to those rumors.

Over the past few weeks Rae had been systematically destroy any chance of her becoming a permanent part of any demon family and so she was only moved from one slave owner to the next, her shortest time being only seventeen hours she planned to break her record with this next family. Even when she discovered which family it was, the house of a very infamous and powerful demon, it only made the challenge more interesting and fun.

Rae's eyes narrowed at the envelope that floated in front of her she swiped her hand down on it snatching it from the air into a crumpled fist reluctantly undoing her damage to open the letter. Her demeanor had an air of boredom to it as if pretending she didn't care about what any demon had to write but as she started actually reading it her attention was caught as she read on her body became more intense gripping the page with both hands leaning in with wide eyes.

Her eyes were wide and glued to the page reading it over three times to make sure she had read it right, this was a dream come true for her she was over joyed at the prospect at being able to earn her freedom and looked at the other slaves' expressions her own eyes wide with anticipation of getting to end this nightmare, this was definitely a game changer. She almost thought it was too good to be true but the paper was right there in front of her with an official seal and everything, Rae almost burst out into laughter right then.

Instead she kept herself calm and quiet following the others further into the house despite every bone in her body demanding her to run, she had to fight to keep herself in check wanting to see this challenge through. She couldn't leave now things were just getting interesting and she wanted to find out just how far down this rabbit hole went. The head demon introduced himself as Lucius she smirked eyeing him up and down looking for weaknesses or ways to kill him but saw very few option, she needed to learn more about him she would wait.

When he had asked them to introduce themselves a girl spoke up first as she did Rae leaned forward turning her head to look at the girl frowning and furrowing her brow, "My name is Senna Walburg, sir Lucius. I do not have much in the way of talents, but I am very good at preparing simple meals. I could also take care of cleaning if needed. I was also a good student in my old town and I am good at memorizing and writing. I'll do whatever is asked of me, sir." Rae could already tell that she wasn't going to like that one, she sounded like a brown nosing little kiss ass. Where did she get off calling him 'sir' and bowing like some... slave!

As soon as she was done however Rae jumped in, "my name is Rae Tutankhamun, and I am intelligent beyond your wildest dreams." Her voice was oozing with sarcasm and she put on hand on her hip raising the other above her head waving it in small circles as she gave the most overly pompous bow that she could muster. She rose up in one swift motion listening to the others chime in before someone else entered the room, it was another demon and from what she could tell this was the other demon they could target and he looked like a much easier kill than Lucius but if she could free all of them then she would. Lucius was her main target.

"Raymond, you will be with my eldest child Dydo and Matt will be with Chou my youngest. I trust I've no need for further elaboration there. Sadly Rae, I guess that means you're stuck with me." When he announced that she would be serving under him she flinched like he had given her a slap in the face her fists clenched and she felt sweat break from her face. Then she got angry, why did he say it like it was a bad thing? She'd show him, she would kill him in half the time any normal slave would, Rae was about to say this when another door opened and someone else entered the room.

Dydo tread lightly through the house her foot steps hardly making a noise as she made her way down long hallways and elegant rooms, she walked steadily with even steps seemingly as graceful as a ghost. Almost floating through the rooms that she passed through, her knee length, white dress which billowed around her long legs as she walked only helped in the illusion. Her expression was blank like a stone wall unchanging as she moved drifting through her rather large home.

As she made her way closer to the room where she could hear voices from her walk was interrupted when she stopped mid-step to cover her nose. Just by the smell she could tell that her father had indeed followed through with his promise, regaining her composure she continued toward the door opening it carefully, stepping in side. The smell was worse on the inside and she almost backed out right then but instead she closed the door behind her leaning against it and trying to hold her breath.

She had a talent for hiding her feelings and so her face did not show the discussed she was coming to terms with on the inside, instead her face was the same blank stare that it usually had looking at each of the new faces in the room. She was trying to concentrate on site to distract herself from the smell studying their faces and anything about them trying not to breathe in too much. When she had stood there for only a few seconds she spoke her voice as plain and emotionless as her face, "which one of these is mine?"

The question was directed at her father but her eyes were still on the slaves looking at each of them in turn with her cold stare, out of the corner of her eye she could see her father indicate a male slave towards the middle. As soon as he did she stepped forward walking up to the male looking at him all the while, when she closed the distance between them she folded open her arms grabbing him and pulling him into a tight hug. Her intention was to rub off as much of her scent onto as possible and the sooner she did it the sooner she would stop getting that sick feeling she got when she took in sharp breaths. Which she did now while she was so close to this human, drawing in and out shallow breaths onto his neck as she drew out the hug for as long as she could before she felt nauseous.

When Dydo broke away from the human she gave explanation to her action, nor did she meet the eyes of anyone in the room, instead she kept her eyes on the ground head bowed just slightly. The only words she spoke were in the same tone as before, "I will be taking a long bath, please do not disturb me." Dydo was usually strange in character so actions like these were not out of the ordinary, but in truth seeing a human up close for the first time really spooked the girl and she needed to recuperate not only that but she needed to wash off the smell of him off of herself.

As she was leaving the room thousands of thoughts floated through her mind but her body showed no sigh of turmoil or anxiousness, instead she was as graceful as the moment she walked in. She was determined not to give herself away and with years of practice it was as easy as stepping through grass for her. 'Wearing your heart on your sleeve' was not an expression that was known to her nor was it a phrase that described her,at it was obvious to those who knew her even her family knew very little about her inner thoughts and feelings and she liked it that way. And as she was closing the door to the room she took in a breath of fresh air and she looked up to meet the eyes of her new slave keeping her gaze steady she closed the door completely as if to shut off the relationship before it even started.

Chou Dregori

Chou was alone in her room as she waited for her father to return with the humans. She was playing with her dolls on the floor, acting out her first meeting with her human as she fantasized up countless possibilities. The girl had no idea who her human would be which only played to her excitement and curiosity, wondering what their name was, what they looked like, and even what their personality was like. Dropping her dolls to the floor Chou leaned her head back with a sigh, the anticipation near killing the girl.

It was then that she heard the door downstairs and quickly concluded that her father was back, almost falling backwards in surprise as she scrambled to her feet and quickly brushed down her dress. With a deep breath she spun on her heel and darted out the bedroom door, near stumbling as she turned and ran down the hallway, and sprinted headfirst down the stairs.

Upon arrival at the room that seemingly everyone else was in, just managing to avoid bumping into her older sister narrowly, Chou tripped face first into the door with a loud thud. Falling backwards she rubbed a hand against her forehead, letting out a faint whine as she forced herself upright onto her feet and eventually entered the room properly. Sidestepping round her brother, immediately the demon walked over to her father and stood beside him for a moment, wrapping her arms around his waist with visible affection.

"W-Which one is m-m-mine?" She asked eagerly, if not somewhat nervously with her common stutter. Releasing her father she took a step back, watching as he pointed to the boy with red hair. A moment after Chou strolled over to her human and looked up to him with a smile. "Hi there! M-My name is Chou Dregori... w-what's your name?" She grabbed onto the boys hand and pulled him forward a little, hopping up and down on the spot excitedly as she even giggled a little. "C-Come! You have t-to see my room! And I'll sh-show you around!" Glancing to her father she asked, or rather begged, "Oh p-p-please? We can take them now r-right? I p-p-promise to be good."

Setting her eyes back onto her human, Chou released the boys hand and clasped her own hands behind her back, taking a breath. "I-I mean... it is a p-p-pleasure to meet you." The girl took a moment to look at the other humans for her father and siblings. Smiling to them all, Chou would've loved to play with them all, but she'd settle for her own red-haired human. He was pretty cute, and seemed really cool. Chou was so thrilled to finally meet her human.

Lucius' expression visibly softened when his girls entered the room. First came Dydo, and in her usual laconic style asked which was hers. Given her rather cold demeanor, Lucius refrained from his desire to be more open and merely off-offhandedly indicated towards Raymond. When she hugged him, Lucius narrowed his eyes in suspicion at Dydo's motive until he registered her shallow breathing. The fatherly part of him appeased with that Lucius made no further overt action when his eldest daughter just as easily made her departure. He really hoped this was just a phase...a long, difficult phase.

Chou's entry is when Lucius went from merely soft to a full on doting father type smile. Chou's immediate if somewhat selfish approach and embrace (one which he reciprocated) were like discovering water in the desert. He waiter patiently for the girl to stammer out her question before pointing out Matt. After which he contentedly watched as she began her own little play plans before asking his permission. He nodded his approval before beckoning towards Rae to follow him, and even going so far to attempt to guide the young woman with his hand upon the small of her back. Lucius was retreating to his wing before his facade gave way entirely. When the doors towards the wing were shut, Lucius' face returned to its usual mischievous expression.

"Well now all the pomp and official nonsense is out of the way," Lucius' voice held none of the official firmness from before and if anything sounded liked a friend explaining a joke. " Allow me to say in sincerely this time. My name is Lucius Dregori, and I bid you welcome to my family." Lucius' introduction this time around was warm and he even dipped a bow with his name.

" Since the kids aren't here I'll gladly answer any questions you may have- even those about the game now. But if possible I'd like to handle that as we walk to my office, I'm desperately behind on work."

Raymond Geller

Image

Raymond stood with his hands in his jacket pockets, glancing around at all the other 'slaves'. He noticed everyone's expressions. A short red haired girl looked terrified, which became clearer once she began talking to who seemed like, the 'head' of everything. She bowed politely which frankly ticked Raymond off. It wasn't because she seemed weak, she would probably out live everyone, but it was because he was slowly having to face it. He was a slave and he was never going home. Raymond sighed to himself as he was supposed to do an "introduction".

"My name's Raymond Geller. I'm good at hunting, gathering, and manual labor."
Raymond spoke not caring to meet the mans gaze.
Raymond glanced around again, looking at all the other people. He saw some guy walked in, who's apparently the red heads 'master'. Raymond chuckled to himself as the girl with the temper had to be the slave to someone she hated most. 'Serve's you right' He sneered in his mind.

Not long after Raymond finished his thought the door opened, revealing an emotionless girl. The girl covered her face as if she was disgusted. 'Snob much?'
As if by fate, or karma, the girl was his 'master'.
'Shit'
Raymond thought annoyed.

The girl looked serious and cold. Which is why Raymond's eyes went wide as she...hugged him!? 'W-w-w-what?'The girl hugged him for a long time, he was surprised and just held his hands at his sides unsure what to do. He looked around confused, as if he thought the answer would be on the walls or something. She eventually let go, then explained. "O-Oh.."He said softly. Before anything else happened she abruptly left, stating she was going to take a bath. 'Well now what the hell do I do?'He thought looking around the room, not knowing where to go. Raymond looked over and watched the little demon girl. He smiled softly, thinking that she reminded him of his little brother.

Matt glanced around at the other slaves, he then quickly noted he was one of the tallest among them. He sighed quietly as he was handed a letter by the head guy, honestly as he read it he couldn't care less. Although being in the presence of the demon who murdered his parents was a bit. . . Angering for certain, just being near this Lucius guy was intimidating. He pocketed the letter smiling broadly.

Another demon came out of a side door, smaller, black haired with pointed almost animal ears. Matt recognized him as the one who torched his village, can this day get any more uncomfortable? Matt thought as a slight frown played at the edges of his mouth. Then an older female demon waltzed in and embraced her servant. Matt winked at Raymond after she made a hasty exit.

Following the girl, Dydo, was another demon, a small one she pranced up to Matt rather shyly. Although Matt could tell she was really excited. Upon hearing her request Matt grinned broadly, hiding his pain from being around these demons, as he agreed to playing with her. He took her small hand in his large calloused hand and smiled at her speaking in his usual light and happy tone.

"So, where are we going to play first Mistress Chou?"
Chou seemed kind, unlike Lucius in every way, and so Matt chose then and there to give her a chance.

Simeon grinned and a twinkle lit up his eyes as Lucius pointed out a small red-haired girl, Senna. She's mine?
The thought caused Simeon to giggle happily as he strutted up to her quickly taking her hands in his.

"Hey, c'mon with me okay? I wanna show you the kitchen, also I'm Simeon, and also again I am very happy to meet you. So happy, like, I have always wanted to meet human, talk to them I mean, I have met some briefly before. . . Oops I'm rambling. . . Forgive me 'kay?"
Simeon said blushing slightly from embarrassment from his over-excitement, he just found Senna to be simply adorable.

Walking briskly with purpose as his other siblings either showed up or cleared out, he drug Senna into the door he had entered from. As they entered Simeon sighed relieved.

"Man, happy to get out of that foyer. . . 'Specially since Lucius was there. . . Him and I, we never see eye-to-eye. Anyways, it's a honest pleasure to meet you cutie- I- er- I mean Senna!"
Simeon turned away from her his tail whipping about erratically from his heart-racing. Simeon, without turning to look at Senna jumped up and sat cross-legged on the smokey-glass counter.
"So, I guess you're scared of me huh? I can totally tell. I can smell the fear on you . . . Is it 'cause I'm a demon? Or is it 'cause of what I've done?"
Simeon asked his giddy tone from before turning into a pathetic little whimper as his tail swished sadly, his ears drooping slightly.

"So, where are we going to play first Mistress Chou?" The boy asked the demon with a grin. His voiced surprised her a little, as it sounded rather happy - which was a real good thing for Chou, as she sort of expected the humans to be not as cheerful. But her human was, which was a bonus! "I-I want to show you m-my room f-f-first... " She addressed the human as she straightened herself upright, and tried to look somewhat serious - though that was near on impossible for Chou. "P-P-Playing is for k-kids, I may be s-small but I am not a k-kid." Placing both hands to her hips the girl attempted to look similar to her sister, but Chou was too baby-ish to pull it off, which only disheartened the girl's efforts. Just then the girl noticed her father taking his leave, as well as her brother. "F-Follow me."

Motioning with her hand Chou beckoned for the human to follow her, as she spun on her heel and began to head for the door. Pushing it open she left the room, waiting for the boy to follow before proceeding out of the room entirely. Standing idily for a moment, she waited until the human was next to her before looking up to him with her mouth hung open. "H-Hey... your p-p-pretty tall... you think I-I could ever be that t-tall?" Sure, she was the shortest demon, but she was still growing! She wasn't done yet!

Looking around cautiously to ensure no one was about, Chou dug out a light scarf from one of her pockets and held in her hands as she showed it to the human. "Pssst - I-I have an imp-p-portant task for you," She raised one hand and pointed more closely to the scarf, more exactly a big rip that was visable in the material. "Can you mend this? It was my mothers but I don't know how to s-sew - but please don't t-tell anyone I-I have it... and that I ripped it... Hey, can this be our s-secret?"

She simply assumed she could trust the human, and that he wouldn't get her in trouble. The girl had taken the scarf sometime ago and kept it secretly, not that she really thought it was a big deal, but considering her mothers death the item was far more valuable than ever before. "Y-You didn't tell me y-your name, what is it?" She asked, tilting her head to the side. "And, between us, y-you don't have to c-call me mistress... just Chou w-will do, alright?"

Senna visibly flinched as the demon boy approached her and grabbed her hand. His strength was certainly more than hers... not that that was saying much. She had strength equivalent to a small puppy. With the surprise at his movement, her cheeks touched red and her head shook with nervousness. "I-I-- Thank you, Master Simeon. I h-hope I will be to your satisfa-- whoa!" She was interrupted by him tugging on her, dragging her out of the room and into the kitchen, asking her to forgive him. Wasn't he the one in control there? What purpose would forgiving him serve? Regardless, she said nothing. She didn't want to lie and say she forgave him. Perhaps she was just bitter about him being a demon and her being in his servitude, but forgiveness was not something that she considered.

The kitchen was beautiful compared to what she knew. It was so clean and it looked like there was real attention into making it look good. It was far different from their scrap kitchen back in her hometown. Her eyes lit up in fascination at it as she dared to make her way to feel the smooth countertop. It was pleasant to the touch with a nice chill to it. Having the privilege of working in this kitchen almost made the idea of her enslavement a lucky one. She listened to Simeon speak as she felt around and figured out her new work environment, making sure to hide her face as he referred to her as a "cutie." She didn't like the fact that a demon was getting her flustered by a mere compliment. With him being so attached already, she reverted to her previous prayers that he would be decent towards her. She didn't want to do anything obscene.

Almost without making a noise, Simeon had hopped up on the counter and asked her about her fear. She had been running her fingers over a shiny new ladle when he spoke up, causing her to straighten her back and stiffen up in surprise. He could smell her fear? It had to be a bluff. Turning around slowly, hesitantly, she presented him with a large smile and closed eyes. "W-What? Me? Afraid? No, no, no, Master Simeon. You've got it all wrong. I am not afraid. I am just a bit... cautious. After all, your kind did kind of wipe out everyone I knew and loved two weeks ago. I am just trying to remain on your good side so that I do not share their fate." She offered a small laugh as she got back to inspect the ladle in an extra nervous gesture. Both lying and being caught by surprise had her in an extremely nervous state of being. "A-After all, I mean, how could I be scared of you? You're so kind and friendly and have already given me praise. I have nothing to fear from such a kind and gracious master, yes?" Her smile got larger as her words came faster and her heart raced more. She needed more strength in the presence of a demon. Smiling was the only way she knew how to get it.

To her, the easiest thing to do was change the subject. "Anyway! Um! What a lovely kitchen you have here! It's far better than anything I've ever seen! Or ever will see, since I am here with you. Forever. Ha. Ha ha ha..." Changing the subject didn't help her any. "I-I'm probably speaking far too much out of turn. I'm sorry, Master Simeon. I'll be quiet now. I plead that you forgive me, sir." She bowed deeply in apology, her grip on the ladle becoming tight from the stress and pressure that she was creating for herself. He seemed like he was being nice enough, but... He was still a demon. In her eyes, there was no such thing as a good demon. Lucius only seemed to prove that, welcoming the slaves to try and assassinate his own son...

Rae didn't really get good vibes from anyone in the room they all seemed so different from what she was used to. First there was the red head chick, Sabrina or something, she looked like she was right at home which didn't sit too well with Rae. Then there were the two male slaves the blue haired guy looked a little trustworthy but the red haired guy acted just as compliant as the chick. Rae wondered if it was an act and hoped, for the sake of their freedom, that it was.

The demons of the house were just as worse, Lucius, the head of the house that she'd be serving under, oozed everything that she hated about demons and every word and movement he made she hated him more and more. The son, looked like he didn't have a clue which made him an easy target for killing but probably not a good conversationalist. The daughters each one worse than the next one was cold as ice acting strange and ghost like and the other was cheery and just a big ball of sunshine! Rae probably hated her the most, needless to say she would not have a fun time here.

Lucius beckoned for her to follow him and she reluctantly complied but when he touched her back she flinched his touch burning into her skin like hate, it was all she could do to not smack his hand away and she struggled with the effort. They walked out of the room and into another part of the house which surprised Rae, from the outside the house didn't seem to big but as she went deeper into its depths she found that is seemed to just keep going, even the front room had seemed so much larger than she had originally anticipated.

Rae wondered if she had underestimated just how powerful this demon family was, the other demons that had tried to tame her did not even have half the luxury that this family lived in. She was beginning to worry about her current situation but would not give up so soon, her mother had called it her 'firey spirit' the endless determination that carried her through life leading her to where she was now, so tantalizingly close to freedom that she could almost taste it.

"Well now all the pomp and official nonsense is out of the way. Allow me to say in sincerely this time. My name is Lucius Dregori, and I bid you welcome to my family." Rae barely payed any attention to what the filthy demon had to say, it was nothing important and she didn't need to remember his name because she wasn't going to stay here long. She made a mental note of to purposefully forget it out of spite, these were the type of methods that she used against her previous owners making them resent her until they gave her up.

Rae was going to use the same ones on this family but since the letter she decided to carve a new plan and was already constructing an assassination in her head. She wasn't too keen on killing any one but she would do anything if it meant getting her freedom back, but in order for her plan to work she would have to get some of the other slaves to help her out, only question was how.

Lucius kept talking as she thought and something he said caught her attention, "Since the kids aren't here I'll gladly answer any questions you may have- even those about the game now. But if possible I'd like to handle that as we walk to my office, I'm desperately behind on work." He was asking her about the letter and she was happy to comply but first a little deception, this was a new house so no one knew her personality so it would be easy to fake one of her own.

Rae cleared her throat and with the cheeriest voice she could muster, without seeming fake, she replied, "oh that thing? I wasn't really planning on participating, I'm happy to do my part and help out with the house." She was never very good at lieing but this was a matter of life and death and so she tried as best she could to keep a smile on her face seeming as sweet and innocent as a small child.

Dydo scrubbed her skin until it was red frowning as she did but no matter how much she scrubbed the smell still lingered in the air around herself, cursing how stupid she was for even touching it. She let out a deep sigh letting her hands rest for a minute, she had initially needed the humans to drive away the constant flow of suitors that came to the house in search of Dydo's notoriously good looks. Even so, she never expected them to be so foul, not ten minutes in and she was already regretting having asked her father such a thing.

She straightened up putting on a stern face and telling herself no, this is for your own good and you will see this through. As the words floated in her mind she slammed her fist into her palm, which was something she did often when making a final decision about something like a judge throwing down a hammer. And with that she stood up letting the water drip back into the tub before getting out and drying herself with a towel, going over herself twice just to get in one last attempt of getting her usual smell back.

She didn't have time to dry her long, thick hair so instead she twisted it up into a tight bun letting a few pesky strands loose in an attempt to seem casual. She dried off as much of her hair but it would take much longer to get completely dry so her bun would do for now, the already dark hair was darker still from the water. Dydo ignored this and slipped into anther white dress this one with dark roses on the skirt and frills on the neckline, the skirt was short than the last one sitting a few inches above her knees. The sleeve down to her elbows, she looked as though she had stepped out of the pages of a fifties magazine.

On her way out of her room Dydo grabbed her glasses putting them on her vision always foggy after a bath. She walked through the halls with the same ghostly air as before keeping her head high this time as she stepped through the doors of the front room, she did not flinch this time mainly because she had already gotten over the worst of it and was prepared. The other reason, she noticed, was that most of the slaves had left the room with their perspective masters but was surprised to see hers still here, what was he still doing here? Jeeze, humans were so useless. Instead of punishing him, however, she decided to take his lack of productivity and turn it into an opportunity.

She wasn't going try to get to know him, no, they were not going to be friends he would work for her and that was all, as soon as his usefulness had run out she would get rid of him. Perhaps sell him to a farming demon that needed the labor or give him to a poor demon family in need of some helping hands. Anything so that she wouldn't have to smell him ever again. She walked passed him motioning for him to follow her and she made her way through the house until she stepped outside into the garden at the front of the house.

The garden was lavishing, overflowing with exotic flowers of all shapes and sizes some that were brought over from the demon world and some from far off lands that shouldn't be able to survive here. But still, there they all were bright and breath taking, the garden was in a circular formation with tiers in which sat another set of flowers looking like a stadium of spectators. In the center was a stone basin that acted as a fountain slowly trickling over with streams of water that flowed into a circle of flowers surrounding the basil, small round stones sat in the base of the fountain completing the entire experience.

Dydo placed a hand on one hip pointing with the other toward the garden saying, "Find me something useful." Her face was the same as always, blank and emotionless looking at him in waiting for him to comply, she had never been around humans and from what she could tell they were very irrational so there was no way of knowing how this one would react but he looked intelligent enough, though she knew from personal experience that looks could be deceiving.

"oh that thing? I wasn't really planning on participating, I'm happy to do my part and help out with the house." Lucius sighed at those words. Unlike his kids, having been to the human world he was rather used to the smell of humans...but that still didn't change the fact they were terrible liars.

"Human, if you're gonna lie at least keep consistent to your previous acts. Blurring an image with hot cold only works when the extremes are fairly in line with each other. I'm not too good with how your kind tracks time, but I was somewhere around Chou's age during your 12th century." The demon shrugged before continuing towards his office unabashed.

"If you want to play this farce, my office hasn't been organized for I believe fifty of what you call years and has been under two or three different wives organization since you humans declared warred on my kind. You can start by fixing that, my study has never been usable and is swamped with official papers dating back until I was roughly Simeon's age." If Rae was going to play the docile and angry human, then he was going to play the demon.

"By the way every weapony looking decoration you see in this house...they aren't just for show; they're my trophies from those I slew to get here." While not entirely the truth, Lucius' claim wasn't much of an exaggeration. All the weapons were indeed real, and yes more than a few he'd taken from dead owners. However a lot of them were simply weapons he'd acquired in an attempt to replace his own but just didn't sit quite right in his hands. Given it was the loss of his first weapon that resulted in him getting so proficient with his power...he really couldn't call it a bad trade.

Raymond watched everyone leave with their 'slaves'. 'Ugh, Where did she go?' Raymond thought a little annoyed. A little while later Dydo emerged. 'Finally,' He thought watching her walk past him, then motion for him to follow her.

Raymond frowned as they walked but followed her none the less. He noticed her outfit and thought it looked nice, but he quickly shook away those thoughts. Upon arriving to a beautiful garden, Dydo requested him to bring her something 'useful'. 'What the? something useful? How am I supposed to know about flowers?' He sighed in his mind but walked into the garden searching for something, anything that caught his eye. He saw something blue, which really stuck out to him. It was vine like plant with blue flowers. The plant seemed exotic and pretty so he walked back over to her, handing her the plant.

"Does this work for you?" Raymond asked a little upsettingly. "Oh, and by the way, what's your name? I'm Raymond." He remembered they hadn't exchanged names. 'I feel like I'm an animal instead of a person...actually I guess I feel more like a slave..but, I suppose I am one now..' He thought, sighing to himself.

Simeon turned his head around and he felt a sharp pain hitting him hard. His kind ruined her life. . . He should've known. This human would despise him just like all the others. If he ever went feral around her. . . No, he mustn't think of that not here. Simeon reached up and brushed his fingers against the cool grip of the sword he wore slung over his back at all times. It was a beautiful katana blade with gold accents. He treasured it more than his "humanity" or perhaps a more fitting term would be his "sanity".

"Uh, I'm sorry your loved ones died Senna. Also don't call me master. I want to be your friend."
With that it made Simeon blush, thinking of things he probably shouldn't think of. He carefully hopped off the counter and stepped closer to Senna, he was taller by a little and he could smell fear rushing off of her in waves. A perk of being practically an animal, or at least that's what Lucius always had taught him. Embracing the monster inside of him was the only way for a kind soul like Simeon to survive.
"Call me Simeon 'kay? Sen? I'm calling you that. . . So . . . Are you planning on killing me? If so you might want to learn to not fear me but to hate me."
As he spoke a smile turned into a bit of a choked wincing expression. He touched her hand and frowned like a pouting child. She was terrified, Simeon couldn't blame her, he was a monster. It was like he knew he was doomed, if anyone came to kill him, unless Lucius was there to evoke his insanity then he was an easy target indeed.

Matt followed the girl, little Chou. She spoke so happily. For a demon he had expected cruelty and evil instead he got literally a child. Chou led him up to her room, it was a lovely place. Then she held a torn scarf and she seemed very distraught over the small article. Mothers? Matt then understood.
"No mistress? I can work with that then. . . Chou-chan? Oh how silly of me, of course. Call me Matt alright? Also, I can easily repair this special treasure of yours. Where may I sit to work on it?"
Matt carefully took the torn item from the small child and laughed internally at how sall she was, however he didn't dare show that in the presence of a demon. Because in all honesty she may be able to kill him with a thoguth and he didn't want to know what her power was just yet. Matt took her hand and closed her bedroom door behind them and held a finger up to his mouth as to let her know to be quieter. Almost as if his new found task was a mission of the most important secrecy.

The weather was warm and the sun was shinning, a soft breeze rustling through the trees as Dydo took in a deep breath of fresh air watching her slave move about the garden. He was tall a little taller than she was and he wore such rugged looking clothes that she wondered how he was treated before he arrive here. She watched his movements from the corner of her vision keeping the other half of her attention on a dragonfly that had found it's way into the garden.

She watched with an air of disinterest but it was a facade for she cared a bit more than she let on, Dydo pushed her glases up her nose they never quite fit right and would often slide down her nose. But she didn't want to stop watching the dragonfly or the new toy she was given, she noticed that in the breeze her hair was beginning to dry everything except the bun was almost completely dry.

After a while her slave came back with a small green flower and she smiled, it wasn't something she did often but the intentions behind this one seemed curious. "Does this work for you? Oh, and by the way, what's your name? I'm Raymond." Ray...mond. What a strange name. She thought, her smile dropping as her face returned to its normal blankness before responding. "Yes, that is helpful to me if I was going to kill someone. That's a nera plant it's poisonous upon consumption."

She was slightly amused and could understand why he would want to kill her, she was his captor after all and it was understandable for him to hate her. Still, she would be lieing if she said that it didn't hurt her, even if she had only known him for a minute or two the thought of anyone wanting her dead was painful. Instead of showing it she kept a calm face speaking again. "my name is Dydo Dregori, it is a pleasure to make your acquaintance."

But as she spoke she saw just passed Raymond was a figure moving towards them and it wasn't until he went through the gate that led to the garden that Dydo acknowledged his presence. "Ah Jasper Hartness, it is so lovely to see you again." Though she said these words her appearance didn't portray them her demeanor becoming more cold than blank.

The demon put up his hand as she spoke saying in return, "I'm not here to speak to you Dydo, I'm here to talk with your father," Dydo knew why, he wasn't the first to try to ask her father for her hand in marriage and he wouldn't be the last but Jasper was more insistent which got on her nerves. Jasper turned to Raymond now eyeing him up and down looking more than irritated, "who is this now, you won't spend time with me but you'll fraternize with this... hooligan?"

Dydo practically rolled her eyes, "my father is busy at the moment you will speak with me and relax Jasper this is my new slave, Raymond. Raymond we bow to our guests." Though she hated the very idea of Jasper even being within speaking distance of herself she was very traditional and was adamant on teaching Raymond the rules of the house. Jasper cleared his throat turning back to Dydo confusing her offer to speak to him a gesture of some sort, "my lady, does this mean that you reconsidered my offer. Does this mean that you'll be my bride?"

"No mistress? I can work with that then. . . Chou-chan? Oh how silly of me, of course. Call me Matt alright? Also, I can easily repair this special treasure of yours. Where may I sit to work on it?" He asked, to which Chou smiled contently. "Matt is a nice name, and y-yes , you can c-call me Chou-chan." She told him with a rather soft voice, watching as he took her scarf and then closed her door. He placed a finger to his lips to motion for her to be quiet, which the girl nodded in response. "Y-You can work at my d-desk, just there. There’s sewing equipment th-there for you to u-use." She whispered to him, before walking over to her desk near the window and motioned with her hand for him to follow. On her desk lay practically everything one would need to sew and stitch.

She sat on a stool next to the desk, pointing to another for which the human could sit on. Looking out the window for a moment she could see the gardens although really it was the sky that captivated her attention. "S-So Matt, how do you l-like it here? What do y-you think of my family?" Indeed, she was curious to know how he felt. Like a concerned friend, she cared enough to enquire about his thoughts and feelings. "Y-Your the first human I-I have met, you know that?"

Gazing down through the window she saw her sister and her human, as well as another demon who she very vaguely recognised, if at all. She always knew her sister did not like the demons that came to seek her, though Chou did not really understand why they came, but she knew she'd love to have ones visit her! Most adults just brushed her aside, thinking of her as just some kid for now. If only she was older. Would demons visit her and seek her? The girl sighed to herself.

Turning round on her stool she faced the human. "If you could mend my scarf now I-I'd really a-a-appreciate it, Matt. And, if y-your r-r-really good at s-sewing... then y-you could sew me allsorts of d-dresses and outfits one day." She always wanted someone to make her things, and now with Matt, perhaps that could happen. "A-After you m-mend the scarf we can go exploring and have s-some fun!"

Matt liked this girl well enough, she was naive and gentle, she was cute too. Odd though considering she was like a little girl.

"Yeah I can make you dresses someday, but I'd have to measure you. I can have this scarf done in a jiff. .. Your family? Honestly the only one I can stand is you."
Matt sat down and opened the drawer of her desk, inside he pulled out a needle and thread and got to work quickly. Each movement he performed was perfectly precise and in no time the hole in the scarf was mended as if it had never been ripped at all. Matt rose to his feet and wrapped the scarf over Chou's eyes and laughed.

"Guess who Chou-chan"
Matt asked in a sing-song voice. He thought they'd get along well enough. Then his voice turned serious.

"Hey, did you hear about the deal your dad made? He said if us slaves can manage to kill him or your big brother Simeon. . . We can be free."
Matt frowned and hugged Chou with the scarf still over her eyes. He felt bad that her father was like how he was and if she wasn't little he felt like he could love her.

Chou watched as Matt got to work mending her scarf. A wide smile filled her features as she carefully watched his hands, trying to make small mental notes whilst he worked, though in all honesty she struggled to remember most of his techniques - so it was a good thing she had him then, since he was clearly better at it than her or anyone she knew. The girl was a little caught-off guard as the boy placed the scarf around her eyes, causing the girl to giggled a little. "Guess who Chou-chan." He asked, and the girl raised a hand as she tapped a finger against her chin. "I-I know its you M-Matt." She laughed before dropping her hand.

"Hey, did you hear about the deal your dad made? He said if us slaves can manage to kill him or your big brother Simeon. . . We can be free." His tone suddenly changed which worried Chou a little, since they were having such fun and all of a sudden Matt became serious. She looked to the boy oddly as he spoke, though still having the scarf around her eyes the demon was still gazing at him, baring a confused stare which quickly shifted into a more shocked one.

"W-W-What are you t-talking about?! What deal?" She could feel Matt hugging her just at that moment, though the girl wasn't sure how to react. He was a slave after all, which made her think that he would kill her father. But would he? Chou was very confused. In that instant she broke free from Matt's hug and took a step back, quickly grabbing the scar and pulling it away from her eyes as she looked directly at the human. "N-N-No! My f-father wouldn't d-d-do that... a-a-and not my brother either."

The demon was visibly upset by hearing this news. Truly she loved her father and brother and hearing of this deal was completely non-logical to the young girl, and she was determined to make it not happen or at the very least accept the same fate as her family. As although being the baby of the family Chou believed she was as capable as her siblings and father, and hated it when she was exempted from things because of it. "Y-Your not going to k-kill my father and brother are y-you?"

The demon was nearly crying even as she asked the question. Perhaps one of her flaws was her sensitive nature, as the slightest thing would set her off. "C-Cause if you are then y-you'll have to k-kill me t-too." She took a step away from the human, somewhat fearfully as she edged closer to the door. If she had to then she would run to her father, or take the human on. Though going to father seemed more preferable. "How d-do I know y-your not lying? M-Maybe I-I-I should t-tell father..." Chou questioned suspiciously as she grew more confused and anxious, which only upset her more as she fought back tears from her eyes.

Matt blinked and looked down at the small demon, he had hit a nerve unintentionally. Well, this means she didn't know.
"Chou-chan, I would never lie to you. I swear I wouldn't. Honestly Chou I don't think I could kill your brother or your father if I wanted too, and I won't try to if you forbid me to."

Matt said to Chou in a warm voice, attempting to calm her with just his voice. He realized her father decided not to tell her but. . . Matt felt like she needed to know. Matt took Lucius' letter out of his pocket and showed it to Chou. He wasn't sure how she'd react but he also thought in his heart that if she was close to them and her father basically is just inviting us to murder him and his son then, Chou should know. Matt took a step closer to her and then sat in front of her.
"Chou-chan, I really didn't want to upset you. Please forgive me for causing you this trouble."
Matt bowed his head, his bright red hair falling over his eyes covering his face with a scarlet sheet. He didn't want her to unleash any powers on him, Matt didn't sense danger from her but her brother is practically Satan and her father is Satan's beast-master. This whole endeavor was making Matt uneasy, why would a demon such as Lucius just hand over permission to kill him and his only son? Did he want the legacy to just end? Then after he died what would happen to his daughters? What would happen to Chou? All these thoughts bounced around crazily in his head, Matt didn't want to have to be worried with attempting to kill any demons. Even though this family killed Matt's entire village, his parents were raising him to be a slave for whatever demon family was in charge. His personal feelings had to be put aside, for his parents.

Raymond yelped and dropped the plant, unaware of what he had picked up. He sighed as it scared him for a moment. "Ah, sorry that scared me...Yeah i suppose it's nice to meet you to."Raymond sighed wiping his hand on his coat making sure no poison was on it. It was pretty obvious that if he were to be poisoned the plant would have to be consumed but Raymond wasn't thinking of that.

Instead, Raymond was thinking about the man that had waltzed up. He was unsure about him and curious as to why he was there. He sneered at their conversation and especially the fact that he had to bow. He did as told though, and lightly bowed to the man named 'Jasper'.

Raymonds eyes went wide as he heard the mans proposal. He finally figured out that he was a suitor and had come to ask for Dydo's hand. This seemed like a normal thing due to her expression. Raymond decided that he didn't like where this was going and decided to but in.

Raymond stepped in front of Dydo and spoke in a rather annoyed and harsh tone. "Hey man, the lady obviously doesn't want anything to do with you. If you get it then leave. Persistence can become very annoying." Raymond said narrowing his eyes at Jasper.

A demon? Friends with a human? With this human in particular? Senna was convinced that this was some kind of trap. It had to have been. And to be perfectly honest, Senna had no interest in being friends with a demon... no matter how kind he was acting at first. There was no way in or out of hell that she was going to be friends with a demon. But rather than voicing her distaste in this thought, for her own safety, she simply did not acknowledge that thought. She didn't want to suffer any consequences for disrespecting a demon prince.

When Simeon jumped off the counter, Senna took a step back. Her gut told her that he was coming towards her, something she wanted to avoid. But as he stepped closer, she was paralyzed by her own fear. As he did so, he asked her a question. One she kind of expected and would answer honestly. "N-No! I would never dream of assassinating Master Simeon! I've... been granted a chance at life by serving you. I'm happy to serve. I plead that you please, please, please believe me. I... don't know how to kill someone. I don't know how to kill a demon. And... I don't want to kill you especially. You're not hurting me..." After she replied, Simeon reached out and touched her hand. She stiffened out her entire body, jerking her heart back as her eyes welled up with terrified tears. She flinched, ripping her hand away from his rather gentle touch. Her flinching left her crouched with her hands covering her head, her body shaking slightly. Soft whimpers came from the girl as she tried to defend herself from no real threat.

"I-I'm sorry, Master Simeon! Please don't kill me!" It wasn't anything personal against Simeon. She had just heard so many stories about demons, and encountering them first-hand back in her hometown left a rather poor impression on her about the nature of demons. The ones who enslaved her literally killed anyone who disobeyed or acted out against them. It was only natural that one in her position might fear for her life here.

Simeon was sad, he could tell she was getting more and more scared of him whenever he attempted kindness. He started to become angry at himself, he felt the rage boiling, Simeon's blood boiled and his ears elongated, his teeth turned to fangs. He growled and lashed out with his words at Senna.
"I'm not going to kill you! What do you think I am a monster?!"He shouted and stepped close to Senna, his flames increasing in ferocity. Shockingly the fire wasn't burning anything. He reached out with his clawed hand and grabbed Senna's shirt, his pupils were vibrating, they looked like they might break. Then all of a sudden his eyes went normal and he saw Senna's fear. He released his grip and took several steps away from her. He felt awful, he felt like a devil, some sort of monster. Tears fell from his eyes silently until he couldn't stand it anymore. Yelling angrily he threw all the things off the counters and they flew and smashed against the floor and the walls.
"Senna, I want you to kill me. Kill me when I fall asleep tonight. I have killed so many innocent people. I deserve nothing less than death. I- I'm so sorry." With that he started shaking and he slumped down onto the floor, his tears flowed even freer as his body shook with wrenching sobs, his clawed hands digging into his face, covering his eyes he couldn't bear to look at Senna now. Now that she had seen how utterly unstable he truly was. He was a bomb of fiery power, one push and he blows up. He's always been this way, ever since his mother. . .

"Chou-chan, I would never lie to you. I swear I wouldn't. Honestly Chou I don't think I could kill your brother or your father if I wanted too, and I won't try to if you forbid me to." The human said before showing her the letting, and almost immediately Chou grabbed it and red over its contents. Her face still retained its shocked expression, the things that she read not aiding to ease her mind. "I-I-I-I do not b-believe it." She said quietly, before handing Matt back the piece of paper. Truly, she could not believe such a thing, her own father allowing this? "Chou-chan, I really didn't want to upset you. Please forgive me for causing you this trouble."

She watched him sit in front of her and bow his head, his hair falling over his face. "I-It is not y-your fault, M-Matt." Kneeling down to the floor, she scooted closer to him and placed her hands gently onto his lap. "B-But I do forbid you to k-kill my father and b-brother, you understand that r-right?" Looking at him, she then raised a hand and ran her fingers through his hair a little, attempting to move it off his face. "P-Please don’t fear me… I-I was just sh-shocked, y-you know." Removing her hands and returning them onto her own lap, the girl blushed slightly and glanced away shyly as she picked up her scarf and help it safely in her hands. "Thanks f-for fixing m-my scarf, what y-you did means a lot t-to me." Gazing back at the human, her face still as red as ever, the girl then got to her feet and stood in front of him. "I-I’m sorry for acting l-like that, please accept m-my apology." Crouching down a little and wrapping her arms round his neck, she quickly kissed his cheek just a little, her cheeks burning with a vibrant tint of red. "I’m sorry M-Matt."

A moment later, realizing what she had done the girl sprang backwards and tried to calm herself a little. "A-A-Ah, well, how about we go on a tour of t-the house?" She nervously suggested, taking a step back before hurrying to the door.

Matt became very relieved at the fact that he wouldn't have to face her wrath just yet. Originally he hadn't thought she'd be as scary as she was just a bit upset, but maybe that's just Matt's imagination acting up. As the girl calmed down she began to stutter even more than usual, it was quite adorable to Matt. Then she forbade him from attempting anything on her families life, which Matt knew she would. Then she apologized to Matt. He was caught off-guard as she brushed his shaggy hair out of his face, then hugged him and even went as far as to kiss his cheek! His face turned as red as his hair, then stumbling slightly he stood up.

"T-tour? Sounds great Chou-chan."Matt said grinning he decided to make a bold move, he walked over to Chou and lifted her up so she was on his back piggyback style.
"Where to first Chou-chan?"He glanced over his shoulder at her and he winked once, although he was fully aware his face was still red too. This girl was really something, even if she was a demon.
