Introduction
Welcome to the second ice age! 500 years ago in the year 2012 instead of the world exploding and falling into chaos as the poles switched the earth was coated in ice and all the great ancient artifacts of the world as well as the rusted technology has only recently begun to defrost.
How did the human race survive the Ice Age?
Well, when the poles switched the earth’s core released high concentrations of radiation either killing off or transforming all of earth’s creatures, this includes humans, many of which obtained great powers that allowed them to survive this far. Most retained their human shape so they are still considered humans but don’t be surprised if you see some one-eyed freak walking down the street.
Where do we begin?
New York City, 2512 AD, the city is still under ice where daily new mummified “cavemen” of the old times are discovered daily. The small colony of remaining New Yorkians consists of a few young adults, because with the incoming heat ice fractures and dangerous creatures have become more frequent leaving more of the young and old dead. Only the fit are alive. Everyone lives like Eskimos in a tribe of some sorts, technology is limited but you have managed to scavenge a few things from under the ice over the years, none of it works but if you find someone handy enough you might be able to find a few working walkie-talkies or weapons. (Guns are RARE and chances are there will be NONE)
Any Basic plot?
Well it’s up to the characters to choose the path, but perhaps they’ll seek out the grand utopia they’ve heard about farther south or travel west to avoid being sucked into the expanding sea. Perhaps the thought might even cross to head farther north to remain in the tribal like tradition they have been born into. Their travels will not be without struggle as they encounter other civilizations and threats to their survival.
You mentioned Powers, what are we talking about here?
I’d recommend playing with elemental powers as well as the classic superhero powers, everyone should be fully human so no vampires, werewolves, elves, demons, you are humans with new evolutionary powers. Mention some powers are curses and some are gifts, while many may find their powers useful others may be tortured daily and suffer greatly from their “illness” brought on by the radiation.

Collectibles
