She can get frightened easily, but she can also be so determined that she wont be as scared.

She was one of those lucky kids, growing up in a good home, not being a target for bullying or anything. She got good grades, was well liked by everyone and was popular. She even got a good job working for a seamstress designing her own clothing and making costumes for school theaters or for production companies. She was doing well even though she was just a seamstress and still an underling but she was going to own the store when the head seamstress Celia retired. On a summer evening she was walking home with a bag full of fabric and patterns that Celia was letting her keep, if it came out of her pay-check anyways. She had left early because she felt sick, she always walked through alleys and roads that are not that important so she could get home faster. She never got there, instead when she walked past a old brick building she blinked and her head hurt so much and when she opened her eyes again she was no longer in that alley way and instead she was standing at the entrance of an alley as people walked by.

So begins...

Paige Ceres

The stark white corridors of the Time Institute Headquarters were brimming with life. The communications room and and research library also bustled with purpose. Finally things were happening. The Keepers were sending a group of their best and brightest into the past. The recent disappearances had cast a shadow over the institute. The past few weeks had left everybody itching to do something. And now, finally, the researchers had figured out where to start.

Paige Ceres walked purposefully through the corridors, strapping her twin handguns to her side. Usually they would sit around her thighs but now, given the time she was traveling to, they were hidden beneath the folds of her jacket. Paige was always immensely thankful for the Keepers synthetic clothing. While she was forced to wear a dress in order to fit in with the time period, the material it was made from had been altered to allow for ease of movement. Her dress, a simple one of dulled browns and dirty whites, would have her fitting in perfectly with the lower class of 1800s London.

Up ahead the doors into the mission room were opened, giving the young woman a clear view of the Time Keepers she would be traveling with into the past. In front of them, the only one dressed in modern clothes, stood Mr Haran, the Director of the Institute. That he was here indicated the seriousness of the case. Paige entered the room, again double checking that everything was where it should be. Her jacket covered her guns, the sleeves hid the watch that was their time travel device and she was dressed appropriately for the time period they were about to jump into. The room itself was empty of any furniture or decoration. It was circular, white and seemed to echo whenever someone spoke.

"I thank each and everyone of you for embarking on this mission." Mr Haran began, his voice ringing throughout the room, "Find our people, stop these fools from destroying all we work for and, above all else, remember our code: Do not disturb time."
He nodded, his eyes making contact with every agent in the room, before leaving. The door closed behind him.

For the group of Keepers in the room it was now time to begin. Paige stepped into the middle of the group, raising her wrist to reveal the small watch that was wrapped around it. The time read 09:29am. Paige pressed a button and the screen flicked to the current date.
"London, England. 1827." She told the Keepers gathered in the room, adjusting her device as she spoke. "The dockside, behind the fish markets. Let's say midday."
She waited for the other keepers to input the data. Then, when everyone was ready, she smiled and began the countdown,
"Three... two... one.. " On one her screen flashed and Paige's world flashed a blinding white.

Time traveling, as far as she had gathered, felt slightly different for everyone. Sure, there was always that rush of air as it tried to fill in the space you had left, but she had heard of some people feeling squeezed, while others felt ripped in two. For Paige it felt like she was spinning. The sensation lasted less than a second each time she traveled and she had grown to accept it, if not like it. It took no time at all to reach the 1800s, the time would still be reading 09:29 back home. The further back you traveled the longer it generally took.

Paige glanced around at her companions, checking that everyone had made it through intact. They were all standing behind a debilitated warehouse, the smell of fish, shit and smoke thick in the air. The sounds of the fish market on the other side of the warehouse could be heard as well as the squawk of seagulls. It was an overcast day, grey clouds threatened with rain and Paige doubted that they would see the sun anytime soon.

"We have our instructions." Paige reminded the group, "The reports pinpoint an old textile warehouse just beyond these docks. We split up and make our way there individually or in pairs to avoid detection." She glanced at her watch again, it now showed the current time in London of 12:00. "We'll move in at 12:45"
She smiled at them all before giving a final nod. She turned and began to leave. If someone wanted to pair up with her to reach the warehouse then they would catch her up, if not she was perfectly happy to get there alone.

Vance Savage

The man stood by the window, watching the street below the warehouse through the dirty glass. There were always people everywhere in London, one of the reasons he had chosen this place and time for the base of his scheme. It was relatively easy for a man of money to make things work for him here.

Behind him, set within an arm's distance was his crossbow. A casual observer might mistake this weapon for some old artifact from the medieval period but on closer inspection one might realise that the material it was made from wasn't wood, or anything that could have come out of that time. Vance Savage had designed and made it himself in the 23rd century. It shot a laser arrow with deadly accuracy, especially when in Vance's hands. Now, turning from the window, he picked up the weapon and slung it over his back.

He left his private study, striding along the corridor. Below him was the whole of the textile factory, the old machines creating a maze of metal. He entered into what had once been some sort of office. Now it was alive with futuristic technology. Screens blinked figures and videos gave the team unlimited access to the streets around the warehouse. Vance went straight towards a lone computer, it's screen showing a single spike in the graph that ran along its face.
"They're here." His mouth formed into a satisfied smirk, his light brown eyes seemed to sparkle with dark energy.
He lifted his hand to his ear and spoke, knowing his message would be transmitted to all the rogues who had gathered here.
"Time to come in, we've got some guests to entertain."
Wherever they might be in London, and whatever they might be doing they would know that the real fun was about to begin.

Aaron stumbled when the younger woman seemed to have bumped into him. His ears caught her accent, and he squinted his eyes. He stopped in his tracks, and adjusted his coat once more. A nervous habit of his. Holding out his hand he'd give a polite smile. "It's quite allright miss... are you ok?" His green eyes looked at her with genuine kindness. He wasn't a woman beater, and he never would become one. "You seem like you could use a warm beverage." He'd smile, and wait for her to take his hand, or decline his offer. "Maybe a warm meal to warm that belly of yours as well... and some... better clothing?" A brow raised as he kneeled down, her accent was off and her hair was off. She didn't seem like a normal woman from the 1800's. A crowd was starting to stare at them, maybe expecting him to hit her or punish her. Then an idea came in his head.

"Tis my wife.... I will beat her when we get home... no need to humiliate myself even more for having a clumsy, dirty wife eh?" He'd look around, mocking fake anger and disappointment. "Come wench..." He'd state as the crowd dissipated. He'd lower his voice even more, and used his thick Australian accent when he spoke with her. "Let us go where eyes cannot see you and judge you." He'd point to the tavern and stand back up once more.

Looking back the way he came, he saw the crowd of Time Keepers dissipating. He needed to hurry and get to the tavern... hopefully his contact hadn't left...

Looking up at him she blinked and looked at him, mouth slightly gaping. So he wasn't going to hit her? she was genuinely shocked. Looking at his hand she took it "I-I am okay". Shivering slightly when she looked into his eyes, they were very beautiful eyes, she could not deny that. "y-you don't have to sir" she didn't speak very loud in case the crowd could hear her accent clearly. Looking down slightly when he knelled down to inspect her closely biting her lower lip slightly, it was a nervous habit of hers.

Surprised she looked up at him when he said that she was his wife, she blushed more. immediatly looking down again.

She blinked in confusion when he whispered to her in a thick accent. Looking up at him she followed where he was pointing and saw that is was a tavern. She stood out and bent over slightly to fix her dress as much as she could. She straightened up and looked at him, than she started walking through the crowd. She had been in London enough to get used to the enormous crowds in market places. So she was able to quickly get through the crowd without bumping someone.

Than she stopped and waited for the strange good looking man. Looking back at the crowd she wondered how he would fare the crowd. Most noble-man or noble woman avoided places like the fish market because of their sensitive nose. Or so she though anyways.

Aaron stepped in the Tavern after gracing through the crowd quite easily. He went and sat down at the table furthest from the door. This woman seemed to have been scared to death...shrugging her off, he'd wait for her to come over so he could ask her questions. That was when a man in a cloak came by and sat down. Aaron's hand reached for his hidden dagger. "Don't do it mate...I have information about James...your father." The man had said in a gruff tone.

Aaron's eyes widened as he heard his father's name. He'd nod and purse his lips, throwing a few coins in the mans direction. Sighing he'd shake his head, "What do you know...and if I find out your lying I will personally hunt you down and kill you myself." his voice was as cold as ice, but just as promising as his threat. Aaron was usually a carefree guy, but this was his father he was talking about.

The man nodded, "Fine... your father... he's in the 1700's... at least that's the last I heard." The man coughed, and drew out a piece of parchement, "France to be exact..." He threw the parchement at Aaron and got up and left just as quickly as he arrived. That was when Aaron heard Jason's voice in his ear. A trap...

Sucking in a deep breath Aaron narrowed his eyes on the woman he had ran into. He had questions for her. Drawing his dagger he'd wait for er to come near him before he did anything. Besides they were in the shadows... no one would pay him any mind. As he waited his mind raced, how could he convice the Time Keepers to travel a few years back in France? Would it save their lives from the trap? He'd purse his lips and press his earpiece with his free hand

"Guys... what if we went back one more year? See if they follow? Let us lead them into a trap? They know we'll get in their way and stop them no matter what... wouldn't they want to defeat us before destroying London?"

He wasn't sure if they'd listen, but who knows... sometimes Aaron came up with good ideas... sometimes.

Aaron leaned back and looked at her. Her nervous traits were interesting. Not that he didn't have any of his own. He'd ruffle his hair a bit and sigh. His australian accent clear as day. "You are not from this time...you stick out of this time like a sore thumb." He'd still wait for the attack, his blade drawn, in his right hand.

"Where are you from? Why are you here?!" The grip tightened in his hand, he wasn't going to follow any traps set by these rebels. "If you want to kill me, i swear, I'll slit your throat and let you bleed right here!" His voice was full of repressed anger. He waited for the chance to strike should she give any sign to.

"How do I know you won't kill me?!" His green eyes searched her face when he heard Paiges voice in his ear. Damnit... I need them to go to France.... He'd think to himself before returning to the matter at hand.

"What is your name? How did you get here...?" He was confounded on why she didn't attack him, and impressed at the rebels, should this be one of their attacks.

Aaron listened to her responses to each question. Judging them and obseving them mentally he figured she was telling the truth. He wouldn't dare kill someone, who seemed so helpless. He'd sheathe his dagger before taking a deep breath. "An accidental." He'd say softly. "My Name is Aaron...I am what is called a Time Keeper, I manage Time, make sure it's not falling apart." He'd hold his fingers on the table, ignoring everyone else.

"Think of a river, it has bends and turns, but it flows one way. You'll never catch it flowing backwords... That is what Time is." He'd drop his palms on the table. "Sometimes there are riffs, sometimes there are spashes...that is what happened to you." Closing his eyes he'd grumble, that was just great. All they needed was an Accidental.

"We need to do your hair... and your dress... I don't need this time becoming more altered than it is... you will play as my wife... you don't speak at all... it'll help with the suspicion. He'd make a whistle, motioning for the wench to come over. She hurried herself over to him and Kristen. "I will give you double what he pays you, if you will give my wife your best clothing, and fix her hair up... she seems to have... messed herself up pretty bad." He'd shake his head, and pulled out some money giving it to her without her protest.

The lady took Kristen to the back, as Aaron closed his eyes and spoke to himself. As the woman was bustling around grabbing random pieces of cloth she spoke in an Irish Accent. "Aye, got yerself in a right mess you did... but yer 'usband gave me a pretty penny." She finally came with a gown. It seemed to fit Kristen's skin and hair. "This brins out yer eyes it does." She started ripping the girls dress off of her, not caring for modesty it seems. She forced Kristen in the corset, and threw the clothes over her. "Yes... yer 'usband will have a right hard time keepin his eye off you." A toothy smile. "Now 'bout that 'air." Tugging and pulling at Kristen's hair she finally got it in a nice haristyle. It wasn't too far out of the century but not too far behind. "'ere ya go...now go right down to yer 'usband and show 'im how 'ou look." The woman gave Kristen a smile before bustling out of the room quicker than when she entered.

As she came down Aaron opened his eyes and saw the wench go back to her Job, but not before the woman gave him a smile and made a comment on how he had caught him a beautiful lady. He'd chuckle and look up the stairs awaiting Kristen's arrival back down. They needed to start heading out... soon.

He'd avoided the fights with the rebels... but he wasn't sure how long the keepers could last without him.

Aaron smiled as he saw her. "Perfect..." He'd say examining every inch of the gown and hair. She seemed like she fit in, now all they had to work on was her accent. Shaking his head, he thought about how the Keepers were doing. They could survive without him... right? Shrugging he hoped for the best.

"Come... we must leave the tavern." He'd make his way out of the small shack, and to a horse and carrige. "Oi, I'd like if you could take us to my mansion?" The man looked at Aaron like he was insane but nodded. "Get in." He'd say before looking forward once more. Aaron gave a sigh of relief. He knew of several empty mansions, part of his scouting mission. He gave the man an address for one before helping Kristen in. He would get in after her and groan, he was getting too old for this. "You wanna hear the story of Peter Pan?" A smile tugged on the corners of his lips. He'd remember meeting Peter... such an interesting fellow he was.

Kristen smiled more, curtsying again "thanks" she whispered noticing him staring at the gown and her hair, blushing slightly more. She wasn't used to someone inspecting her like so closely like he was.

Nodding slightly, she followed closely behind him she blinked when he told the man on the carriage to take them to Aarons mansion. He had a mansion? she was so surprised to hear that he did, she kept her head up as if she was a noble woman just so she didn't stick to much out. She kept quiet though since he had told her to stay quiet, she got into the carriage and sat down across from Aaron.

When he asked if she wanted to hear the story she smiled "sure, I'd love to hear it" feeling the carriage tug a bit before it started moving. She had not rode in a carriage before, so this was a new experience for her feeling the soft fabric of the seat she sat there feeling the fabric waiting to hear the story of Peter Pan. She had heard the version from current times but she liked the story all the same, she wondered if he was going to tell her a different version of it.

She wondered if she was being a bother to him, also she wondered what was going to happen when she got to his mansion. She pushed her thoughts away, and sat on the edge of the seat slightly.
