Setting
Sam walked into his room, kicking off his shoes and pulling his shirt off. He didnāt really care that he was going to sleep in jeans, if anything it didnāt bother him a bit. The teen lay down on the cot, putting a hand over his eyes to shield away any unwanted light. While he was trying to sleep, his mind wouldnāt let him. He kept thinking about his parents, what Ann had said and the fight that broke out. He was an idiot for taking Lennon out, be he really didnāt regret it. Now if only she would stop trying to fight everyoneā¦
He wasnāt feeling too hot, maybe it was the alcohol or maybe the stress but Sam suddenly felt nauseous. He could feel his throat closing on him and he rolled out of the cot, opening the window that sat close to him. Sam peered over the edge, hoping he didnāt throw up. That wouldnāt be good. The adults would probably try to check on him and see why. It was probably the drinks.
He clamped his jaw shut as he watched the cars pass by, driving away and minding their own business. After a while, the feeling of throwing up passed and he walked back over to the cot, laying down once more. He knew he wasnāt going to sleep at all.
Bailey extended out her arm to Charlie for a hand shake.
"Did you already talk to everyone here? Everyone's so nice here, too. I could introduce you to some of my friends if you haven't met them yet. There is some more new people, too...that I haven't even got the chance of meeting. We could go explore together!" Charlie chattered away. She than waved her hands, "But you don't have to follow me around, of course. You can go off by yourself if you want to. I won't force you to stay with me." She said.
There wasn't much else for Lennon to do besides lay in her bed under the thin cover. But sleeping wasn't something she had in mind so she quickly got out of bed pulling the sheet with her. She was craving an apple, and only wished the cooks actually had any. Lennon sighed and tossed her blanket back on the bed before leaving her room. To bad none of the kids kept food she could take...if only. On pure whim Lennon wondered where Violet was and if she had found her stupid key. Maybe if Violet was lucky Lennon would apologize. She was in a weird mood.
But then she started thinking about Sam and Ann again. It made her want to punch a wall and well cry. The words metaphorically pierced her heart. In this case the outside world sucks She thought, walking down the hallway kicking some toy blocks that where scattered over the floor. Lennon rounded the corner down another hall. The more she thought about the night the more her face turned red. Lennon stopped down the bare hall. She punched the wall angrily, only leaving a small crack in the dry wall. Then she slid against the wall onto the floor keeping her head in her hands and her knees tucked close to her chest. Hopefully no one will see me like this, just give me my space and I'll cry and it'll be over with soon. She promised herself.
Charlie thought Bailey seemed pretty nice. She was sure she'd make a lot of friends here. Bailey was tall, too. Charlie always admired tall girls...since all the tall girls are models. She decided she would give this friendship a chance.
She moved around Bailey and headed over to the book shelf. She made her way through kids and toys, and almost tripped over a doll that was on the ground. Once she made it to the book shelf, she neatly tucked her book away with the other books and started her way back to Bailey.
This wasnāt going to work. The teen threw his shirt back on, walking out of his room. Sam felt like he had been thrown into a dryer, tumbling head over heels with stress and confusion and ultimately another emotion he couldnāt pinpoint. He shook his head, walking down the hall and into the living area where two girls were. He gave them a curt nod before leaning against the wall, closing his eyes and ignoring them.
His eyes opened as he heard a ping from his phone. He looked at it, cringing at the text. It was from Johnny, who was furious. By the text, he said he never wanted to see Lennon again. Girl or not, he threatened to beat the living out of her. He also threatened Sam. Instead of responding or getting angry, Sam just raised an eyebrow at the phone.
Hm, now thatās not very nice. He thought, putting the electronic away. He decided he would go back to his room, and walked back up the stairs. Since he still didnāt know the area well, Sam took a wrong turn. As he did, the teen didnāt notice the discarded toy, tripping over it and losing his balance. He hit the ground with a rather loud thud, all of his weight being thrown to one side as he fell down. He was suddenly glad for the lack of people around him as he sat up, rubbing his shoulder.
Looking around the house, he scowled, having no idea where he was. Sam got back up and continued down the hall, noticing a body sitting in the hall. He stopped walking and then noticed it was Lennon, looking soā¦So innocent. From what he had gathered, she wasnāt the girl who wanted her weaknesses to be revealed. Instead of walking straight, he turned down the hall close to him before laughing.
āI am so lost.ā He said to himself.
Stupid Sam is causing stupid emotions Lennon cried silently. Once the tears had stopped she hiccuped and used her sweatshirt to cry her face. Then it was off to the lavatory. Lennon stood up, dusting her shorts off. With a small sniff she headed down the hall again turning right into Sam. Oops. "Hey watch it!" She snapped pushing him back a little to regain her stability. Was he laughing She scrunched her eyebrows and pushed past him. I need to at least wash my face before talking to anyone So she carried on giving a quick glance back at him to see what he would. the bathrooms where right down the hall and she pushed the door into the girls lavatory. Several sinks where lined up and Lennon chose one with a mirror that wasn't crack. She cranked the nob until warm water spewed out and then washed her face. It felt like a new start though, what ever grime she had collected from the day washed down the drain. Len dried her face with a paper towel and breathed out. Then she stepped back into the hall way but didn't bother going any farther. Strong Lennon is back, crying Lennon is gone
