Elizaveta Mihailov

I'm a dancer for gods sake! I don't know what to do out here!

0 · 482 views · located in Alternate Post Apocalyptic Reality

a character in “The Town of Lost Souls”, as played by Coloratura

Description

Age: 19

Physical Appearance:
Peachy skin, high blushing cheeks and full coral colored lips.
Her eyes are a lush green and her hair is the color of tree bark.
Elizaveta is skinny to the point of being wispy and yet somehow toned.
Image

Clothing: On the bus she wore a simple fitted hooded jacket over a white tank top,
and semi- form fitting yoga pants with tennis shoes, typical athletic attire,
Elizaveta had planned on sleeping during the bus trip and then hitting the gym and then dance studio, before going to her hotel in LA,
this may seem grueling, but its not exactly a walk in the park, keeping fit as a world class ballerina.

Skills/Hobbies: Dancing, Playing Piano, Target Archery and reading.

Personality:She seems a bit cold at first, as she is reserved,
in addition to being somewhat embarssed about her lack of English speaking skills.
However, if speaking to someone in her own language, she loves to joke around and can be a bawdy.
She has quite a mouth on her, and is apt to swear repeatedly in Russian if annoyed.
The dancer is a bit vain and will be often caught looking at her own reflection,
She knows she's pretty and doesn't mind talking about it either.
Elizaveta is a free spirit once one gets to know her,
but on the outside she seems utterly austere.

Likes: (Still thinking on this one)
Dislikes: 21st century Pop Music.

History: She was born in St Petersburg and began studying dance at the age of five and progressed quickly.
Elizaveta was given a job performing in the Russian Ballet at age of seventeen,
and was invited at 18 to join a dance company in New York,
of course, this was a once in a lifetime oppurtunity, she packed her bags and left Moscow(where she lived while in The Russian Ballet) for the big apple.
She worked there for one year and has now signed on to do a traveling show with a dance company in LA ,
she sold her apartment and car, then just got on a bus, the last stop being her destination.

Family?: Elizaveta lost her twin brother at the age of 10
and this has scarred her in a way that makes it much harder for her to get close to others, especially men
Although she still has a large family and rather stable family but they live in Russia still, she has not seen her them since she left home.

Ten Items you had in your suitcase: Toe shoes from her last performance with the New York Ballet company. A filled and reusable (Metal) water bottle. A tooth brush and large tube of toothpaste, lemon scented skin-softening soap, a bottle of SPF 50, one comb, one protein bar, a metal nail file with very sharp edges and a book of Russian to English phrases.
Strengths: incredibly fit as she is a dancer, diligent worker, can cook, and knows a bit of Archery could possibly hunt at some point if given a bow.

Weaknesses: Speaks poor English, easily annoyed by people she thinks are stupid, and has always been a bit spoiled.

So begins...

There was a body in the bus, slumped over a chair, it was a thin wisp of a girl dressed in a fitted hoodie and yoga pants, with a brown suitcase a few inches from her. The sound of someone attempting to start the engine seemed to wake her, and she stirred a moment before murmuring incoherently in Russian “Chto za chert ...?” she was probably trying to ask what was going on there.

Elizaveta was exhausted, and just wanted to get up from her awkward position in the bus, what had happened? She remembered the loud whine of an engine, humans yelling in English, and then darkness.

They must have crashed, but where were the ambulances and police? She had a splitting headache, and really wanted to go call her hotel to let them know she’d be late, not that she was any good over the phone, as it made her broken English sound even worse.
She tried calling out in a language she had studied quite a lot, but still couldn’t get the hang of “Hello..?” Elizaveta’s Russian accent clung thick as honey to her words. she was adressing the man messing with the Ham radio.

Mark hearing something in the distance, he looks away from his ham radio and as he looks around he sees that someone has woken up on his Red Line bus from NY to LA, the one he had been driving. He turns off the bus to save the electricity. Grabbing the first aid kit from the floor he steps out of the Blue Line bus from Florida to LA. "I think I heard someone talk" he says as he waves to Daniella to follow him, as he walks to his bus. Mark seeing the passenger on his bus, remembered her face as she boarded, Mark was good with remembering faces. He walked up to her and crouched down to where she was sitting "Are you okay?" he asked as he looked at her seeing if she had any bruises or cuts like Daniella had.

"Hello. Um..." She looked the lady up and down. She carefully noted the hoodie and yoga pants, the kids she had seen walking in and out of her school instantly popping into mind. She had often seen them in hoodies but quite tight bottoms, walking in and out of the Hall with Madaline Langley, the Dance teacher from the school down the road. Maybe she was a dancer? She laughed at her self for being so nosy when not even introducing herself to the girl. "I'm Danniella. Danni for short. This is Mark. And now there are two of you to look after the people who wake up, I'll go up to the mansion!" She nodded to the both of them and headed off, shouting back. "If you hear me scream, I'm probably dead!"

By the time she had got to the mansion, she started to doubt herself, but.. after all, most times she HAD doubted herself, she should have done the thing she doubted herself about. Confusion, yes. No doubt about that, but she stopped at the door, her hand lifted in mid-air, curled into a fist.

As soon as her hand touched the door, it creaked open gradually. "It wasn't locked.." She stepped inside, the door slamming closed behind her and the slam echoing throuout the town. She darted back to it, grabbing the handle and trying ever so furiously to open the door, then kicking the door when she realised it was locked, leaving her trapped inside.

As Danni was comming back, she had heard only a snippet of the dancer lady talk. Russian, for sure. Danniella had read a book about Russian language a few years ago for an assignment for her English class. Some Russian book. Maybe... "Здравствуйте. Кто вы?" She said in a terrible Russian accent. She was sure it ment 'Hello. Who are you?' but then again... She thought she owed it to the woman to say something of what happened. "Мы разбился из-за этого осла, Марк." Again, she was sure this ment 'We crashed because of this man, Mark.' She stared hopefully, waiting for some kind of response.

Mark giving Daniella a glare. "Yeah about that I don't crash I know more than thing or two behind the wheel missy, and as you can see, our buses are completely perfect on the outside" he says with a stern tone trying not to lose his cool. He looks back at Elizaveta, he knew that he's have to communicate with plenty of physical expressions to make sure she understood him perfectly. "Like she said we were in an accident at least that's what is most plausible." he says pointing to the bus outside of the window. "We tried looking for help, but there's no police, no ambulance, no phones, just nothing in general." he says while shaking his head at each no. "You have a cut on your head. Would it be okay if i treated it" he asked pointing her head and then the first aid kit.

"This is going to hurt just a bit" Mark said as he began to apply some of the alcohol to sterilize the cut on her head. Mark then applied a bandaid to the cut on her head. Since Daniella spoke Elizaveta's language he decided it was best that she took over the rest of the conversation. He looked at the bandages he had left, which was now almost halfway gone.

She glared back at Mark. "What? Unless you speak Russian, how did you know what I said, Mark? What I said was true anyway!". An idea suddenly hit Danniella. "One moment, I'll be back!" She ran to her bag, pulling out a book called 'Speak', then handing it to Elizaveta. "Um.. Teaches.. You..." She stopped, thinking of the Russian way to say 'It teaches you English'. "Umm.. Она.. Umm.. учит вас английский." She knew she already spoke English, but she didn't speak it very well, and so Danniella wanted to help. She was an English Professor, after all. "Read it." Then, she paused, realising she should ask questions. "Как тебя зовут?" She smiled, waiting for her reply to 'What is your name?'.

Danniella didn't know that Mark was a former professional race car driver. Mark had been to may different countries because of his job and because he was so invested in his work, he often had to learn essential words to communicate with different pit crews. Mark's knowledge of different languages had dwindled since his forced retirement for a couple of years, which were some of Mark's darkest days. However one word Mark did know immediately was the word crash, a word Mark was all too familiar with. Mark didn't want to explain himself to Daniella, as Elizaveta was more of a priority than presenting his credentials.

"Mark.." Danniella started, turning away from Elizaveta slightly to face them both at an angle but looking individually at him. "Sorry if I was a bit rude, then.. I didn't mean it. I'm not use to... being..... stuck." She looked at the floor, sighing slightly and holding her arm close to her as if in a protective stance or just wanting to hide herself from the outside world. She raised her head again ever so slightly. "Anyway, there was a boy, in the mansion. I think I'm going to go looking for him. Or at least for a map." She nodded, walking away into the streets.

She wondered for a while, passing various houses and other buildings. She stopped at a general store, she figured anyways. She tapped on the door, it creaking open slowly. "Are you kidding me!?" She shouted, remembering the incident at the mansion. "Hello!?" No reply. She crept in, keeping her foot by the door so it could not shut on her once again. Her eyes darted around the darkness, looking for any signs of life, but all she could see was a rat squeaking and scuttling along the ground. Then, she set her sights on a small book on the table. A log book, maybe?

She reached for it, still keeping her foot by the door, weary of it locking. Her fingers gripped it lightly, bearly lifting it into the palm of her hand. She grabbed it and stumbled backwards, out onto the street again, continuing her search for the boy while reading into the book. The funny thing was, last time anyone had bought anything was years ago! But she kept on looking through the years of purchases. They weren't normal...

But either way, she continued her search for the boy.

Mark smiled at Elizaveta's comment saying that he did not know pain until he stood on a single toe dancing for hours. "Yeah, thats sounds pretty painful indeed, but a guy like myself has no business dancing in the first place, so I'll definitely take your word on it." he said smiling. However Mark knew plenty of pain and also knew the numbness of pain that comes with almost dying, but didn't want to tell his life story to random people. Unlike Daniella, Elizaveta seemed a bit stronger, less panicked, and spontaneous. Speaking of spontaneous he noticed that Daniella had taken off again. He shook his head at the ground "that girl is going to get herself hurt" he muttered.

When Elizaveta asked what his name was he replied with "My name is Mark". He wanted to tell her that he understood her language, but it had been so long since he had used it, he didn't want to embarrass himself. He knew the ham radio on the Blue Line bus was working, so he felt as if they would be saved soon. "So I take it that you're a balle..." he began to say but a woman who walked right off the bus they were on passed them. She must've missed Mark who was crouched down and Elizaveta could have easily blended in with one of the unconscious just sitting in their seats. Mark turned to Elizaveta "Hey if you can walk, you should come take a look at where we are, although it's not much to see. I'm going to see if that woman needs help, she might be delirious" he said while making a twirling motion by his head at the end.

Mark stood at the Red Line bus entrance "Excuse me miss" he said staring at the woman who had just walked off the bus.

Elizaveta smiled halfway at the man when he spoke, he seemed sensible and she liked that. Few could keep their heads so cool in a crisis. So his name was Mark? It sounded very American to her, so abrupt, very harsh on the tongue, she wasn't bothered by his name or anything. It was simply different on her ears than the name's of her countrymen and women, not that she wasn't used to this by now.

Elizaveta noticed the woman as well, wondering who she was and if she was hurt at all. For a moment she did not understand Mark, he was speaking to fast for her to grasp a language not her own, but she pieced it together in her mind and got the gist. Then getting up and wandering down the same path Danniella had taken.

The area had such an odd feeling about, the air smelt almost musky to Elizaveta or rather just very old, almost like mildew. The buildings she passed had such a dreary and antiquated essence about them, it was almost spooky, in fact it was. After a time she came to the same run down general store as Danniella, wondering if she could find somebody who lived in the town, or perhaps a telephone. She peeked in the door and called out "Allo? Nikto Tam?" Then bit her tongue realizing she should be speaking English and inquired again "Hello?..Anyone is there?" Her accent and broken speech made it hard to even tell what she was saying.

(OOC: I would like to bring in more First Comer characters into the story so invite some of your friends or familiar people you play with other from roleplays. Thanks :) After all it'd suck if I had to play all of the first comer characters.)

Tommy emerged from Rick's Mattress store, using the ventilation shaft in the roof. He climbed down peering from the an alleyway seeing that the woman from earlier had gone into the general store and another woman had followed her in. This was beginning to get out of hand he thought, and with the rest of the first comers away, either hunting or sleeping, he had no choice to get rid of them somehow before they harmed his family. Tommy began running through a series of hidden shortcuts he learned by staying in Glenshire for so long. He thought of what he would do when he got there. He had never killed a human before and he didn't want to start so maybe if, he could scare them away. Tommy climbed on top of the movie theatre which was opposite to the general store. He picked up rocks knowing that if he threw his knives not only would the first woman identify him, but he'd also be unable to retrieve them since he couldn't get inside the building for quite some time. Luckily Tommy was just all around accurate with throwing things do to his years of hunting shifty rats. Tommy took the four small rocks in his hands and launched them at four different windows at the same time. They all broke, not in complete synchronization, but close enough. He ducked behind the ledge of the building shortly after throwing.

Danniella jumped out of her skin at the sound of the shattering windows, her breathing became heavey as she regained her composure. Then she noticed the dancer girl had followed her. "Oh, hello Elizaveta! I didn't see you there." She looked around, looking at the broken windows, and then instinctively at the roofs and behind Elizaveta. She looked at how they were thrown, none of the other side... And so, she instinctively yet again looked at the roof directly opposite the store, slowly closing the log book and placing it under her arm. She cleared her throat before saying "Hello? We're not here to hurt you, just come down and talk! Please?"

Tommy:

Tommy plan to scare Elizaveta and Daniella had failed miserably because not only were they not scared, Daniella was looking right at his location. "Great, I'm going to have to kill to women today" Tommy said as he laid on the roof avoiding being spotted. Just then it had hit him, he remembered Cur telling him scary stories of ghost. He thought they had always frightened him, so he might be able to do the same to Daniella. He was willing to do anything to avoid killing someone. He rose up slowly from the roof saying "Booooo! I'm a ghost that wants to devour your soul. I'm going to eat you alive and throw your bones in the fog" Tommy said in a terrible impression of a ghostly voice, he waved his arms to add "effect".

Mark:

As he was about to answer the first question he was cut off by Raine, who dished out some orders along with her name. Mark already had Daniella to deal with, but this one was more sassy than even her. "As if his problems needed to get any worse" he thought. Mark raised an eyebrow at her, he was a polite guy, so when other talked to him disrespectfully he often liked to dish it back. "Well Rainie, I'm Mark, your bus driver and before you blame this on me take a look at the perfect condition the bus is in" he said slapping the side of the red line bus. He started walking to Rainie, but passed her to head towards the blue line bus, walking straight passed her hand. "I would shake your hand, but as you said politeness will get me nowhere & right now if you haven't noticed,we already are. There's some first aid back on the bus in the aisle, if you're hurt go heal yourself up" Mark said while entering the blue line bus. He felt wrong for being mean to Rainie who is probably is just confused as him, but he wasn't the type to take that kind of attitude for very long. He knew he would have to find someway to make it up to her.

Mark started to fidget with the ham radio, hoping to get some sort of reception, that way he could call for help. So far all he was getting was a bunch of static.

Danniella felt a pang of fear flow through her veins. Her heart had just about started to pound against her rib cage, when she noticed it was the boy who threw a knife in the mansion earlier. It gradually calmed, realising how bad the impression actually was. Even if it was a ghost, Danniella would have kept her cool on the outside anyway. "Kid, come down. We just want to talk. Ask a few questions. We're lost, see. We were all on our was to L.A and.. now we're here. Care to shed a little light? I mean, it's kind of the least we deserve. Please don't run off. " She glanced at the windows he broke. "And someone isn't going to be too happy with you." She smirked slightly. "Oh, and nice throwing skills. Teach yourself or did your dad teach you? Or someone else?"

Tommy had failed at getting rid of Daniella who did not buy his ghost impersonation. He was certain that it was flawless figuring out that she most have many ghosts where she lived. Tommy knew he'd get in to trouble wit the others if he had spoken to them, but he had to say something. "You talk to much Daniella." he said remembering her name from their first encounter. 'You don't belong here, this is my home. It's just suppose to be me and my family, no one else. I feel sorry for you.....because you're going to be here forever, just like me." Tommy turned away walking towards the roof. "Just stay away from the area around the mansion where you were, if my family sees you they might not be as willing to let you live..." He said stopping and then turning his head "And by the way...I'm not a kid, I'm fifteen years old, so that means I'm a man in this world" He slid down a drainage pipe on the back of the building and began running into alleyway.

Danniella laughed. 15? That's not a man! That's a teenager. Maybe she should stay away, but she sure as hell wasn't going to be stuck in this place forever! She walked back to the buses, unsure of exactly what to do next. "Come on, Elizaveta."

Elizaveta flew down at the sound of broken glass and stayed there on the ground, careful not to get up lest something else in the general store break. She then spoke in Russian and let out an unsteady laugh, more to calm, her self than anything else"Chert! stranno starom meste , a?" saying 'Damn, Spooky old house, eh?'

Elizaveta watched the scene and cocked an eyebrow, was this kid really trying to scare them? She shrugged slightly and got up from where she was sitting on the floor, not exactly in a rush it seemed.

When she saw Adrian the Russian girl stopped and stared "Allo?" She said quietly, forgetting to greet him in English.

Cur:
A stray lock of hair the color of charred wood fell in his face, but he continued to watch, his hetrochromatic eyes darting this way and that with every movement, he now saw the two women who'd come from the buses earlier, he didn't so much mind Elizaveta, she had foreign roots like him,so he'd ignore her for the most part but Daniella had made fun of Tommy. He was still on the roof, only now he was halfway through the large hole he had been looking through and hanging by his knees from the rafters.

Tommy had been through more than she, Cur thought, he might of been young but Danniella had no right to belittle the boy, if someone had to die, she would be first, he glowered down at them from the shadows, completely silent, only gripping his throwing knives, ready.

Danniella saw the man struggling to catch up to her and Elizaveta. "Hello! Another new-waker?" She smiled. Yet another of the passangers have woken up, finally! She walked slowly back to face him properly and extended a hand to him. "I'm Danniella. Danni for short and, as long as you're not a ghost, we're all good here!" She laughed. "Oh, this is Elizaveta. I think she's a bit tounge tied for you." She nodded to the girl in a hoodie and yoga pants beside her, smirking. More people were waking up... Maybe they'd get out of here after all, but the boys words still clung in her head. They ringed out to her. 'Because you're going to be here forever, just like me..'. She snapped out of her moment of thought and looked back up at the man, smiling again.

"Hi." Adrian chuckled, obviously happy he had found other people wandering around and he shook Danni's hand when she offered it to him. "Adrian, and no I'm not a ghost. So we're good." He chuckled again then looked at the other woman, "Hello to you to Elizaveta." Adrian nodded at her with a smile then looked back at Daniella, "You have any idea of what's going on around this place? Are there any other people besides us here?" He didn't mean to bombard the young woman with questions, but he was just so confused on everything and even a little bit of information would be helpful, either how good or bad the info was.
