Introduction

15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.

16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

If I offend anyone by distorting The Rapture or making a roleplay that allows a player to play God or Satan, you are free to hatemail me. And criticism is to be expected. I apologize for any offense.

Storyline

God has always had a sense of humour, always! So when he took notice of the speculation of the Mayans and thinking that maybe the world would end December 21st, 2012. He said unto his angels, "Let their world end, so that they can believe they were warned. And thus, it was fair for me to take them." And it was done, for God ordered it.

It was nothing like anyone expected. The storms erupted from nowhere on December 14th, 2012. It rained everywhere, even where it was expected to snow, it only rained for 7 days. Storms like the world had never seen before. Floods occured that consumed whole islands and washed away whole cities. But the horror was not this. No. What was expected to be beautiful, peaceful. Was anything but, to anyone who saw the christians go, it was horrific. The light broke the dark brewing clouds if only briefly. The christians were annihalated, a quick and painless death. They brought unto God and judged. And for the course of 2.16 minutes. Blood dripped from the skies with the passing of the christians.

Because God is merciful he wept, for the suffering of the world he had hoped so greatly for. As he wept the clouds subsided. The rain stopped. Millions had died from the disasters of the floods. Millions of committed christians had passed as their spirits were brought to Heaven.

The horror didn't end. Lucifer, Satan, wasted no time. Hell became the Earth, all those who thought they knew Hell surely did not. Crevices opened in the Earth's surface. Buildings collapsed upon one another. Great volcanoes erupted. The Oceans ran red with the blood of the damned. The major forests were burnt to ash. Only 1/4th of the human race pursevered.

And Satan sent his minions upon the Earth.
And because God is merciful, he sent his minions upon the Earth.

The world a wasteland, ash hangs in the air. Buildings are toppled over and most areas are flooded. The whole world was affected, but we will only focus on America. The wasteland of America.

Things to Know:

This roleplay is based in a world where nearly everything is possible. The only thing that limits you is the will of others and your imagination and skill as a roleplayer. You want to be Satan or God? That's fine! Just know that the part will be a rough one to play, and in this roleplay they can be combatted and destroyed.

Angels and demons must be decapitated to be killed. You may have one ability if you are an angel or demon. (E.g. A special weapon, or "power.") Every angel can fly with wings, if you're a large demon, (8-10 ft maximum) You give up the ability to fly. You must allow humans to be able to stand a chance in battle even though you're powerful. "It's not the size of the boy, it's the size of the fight in the boy that truly measures up."
Archangels are allowed, or Angels that feel that Earth is a hopeless cause. Demons with hearts of gold. Just be original and creative and I'll allow you to be what you want to be.

I gripped the ledge, fanning my wings out as I perched. Looking out over a wasteland, New York the humans called it. A sinful place, a terrible place of infestation, and great evil. Ash hung in the air in a thin canopy, buildings lie in shallow pits of water, and the blood of the dead ran the water a pale red. I narrowed my eyes scanning the wreckage of the city. There was sign of movement.

Everywhere, lest it be bodies drifting in the water, or hungry looking humans clinging to the lands not covered in water. All of them looked broken, and beaten. It pained my heart, and I rose from my crouch with a heavy chest as I saw the sight of several hell hounds chasing a single human girl. I reached back slowly gripping the hilt of my sword and pulling it from my sheathe, I fell forward.

I fanned out my dark wings, they fluttered in the wind catching it, and I glided forward. I held my seraphim sword before me in a strategic setting. The hell hounds turned at the sound of me, one caught my eye. I saw only hate and suffering in the eyes of that poor beast, and sudden fear as I drove my blade between it's ribs with tremendous accuracy, it yelped before it died and black oozed from the wound, and the heart was destroyed. The blade having been caught between the ribs, I caught diving over the animal and leaving the sword stuck in the creature. I swiveled my hips turning in the air to land on my feet with practiced grace. I turned at the sight of the three hell hounds left circling me.

I smiled crookedly, with wicked intent, sliding into a defensive stance. I awaited an attack.

I sensed my sword behind me, and my hand growing unbelievably cold at my side, I raised an eyebrow. I didn't know Hellhounds to hesitate. They were large beasts, hardened with muscle and could easily pass my own height if they were to stand up straight on their hind legs. Spittle hung from their open mouths, exposing mangled and sharpened teeth, Their eyes were nearly completely red and their fur completely black. I felt no fear staring at them all.

I felt only pity, they would die here. By my hands, or I would not leave this place alive. I raised my hand, my feet planted. I narrowed my eyes at the Hellhound creeping along to my right. I clawed my hand raising it suddenly, scalding hot cold pulsating through my hand, up my arm and into my core. Suddenly a frosty blaze erupted from the palm of my hand. As the Hellhound to my right leapt forward, the frost collected on his snout at first. Traveling up it's face and along it's body. I pulled my hand away as I sensed another Hellhound charging forward to my left, as it opened it's massive jaws and jumped looking to lach onto my throat. I lifted my elbow forcing it into the beasts open mouth, it peeled back and I turned with the pulling of my body with the animal, lifting my elbow to suspend the beast from the ground. I planted a balled fist into it's swinging hip bone, as pale blue blood erupted from the wound at my elbow.

It swung with the force of the blow, letting go of my elbow and rolling away with a growl. I heard a snarl as the last of the three had already begun it's attack. My ears perked and I slid into a crouch as the beast came upon my back with it's claws. I rose, the creature used it's hold on my shoulder, using the hold to steady itself as it rose on it's hind legs. Pain shot through me. It attempted closing it's jaws down on my neck and I pulled forward jerking to my right and driving my elbow back and into the ribs of the beast, the impact was sickening, there was a crack, and the ribs were definatley broken. It reeled it's head back letting out a deep yelp that shook my heart.

It pulled away, dropping to all fours and pulling away while watching me, I grabbed the seraphim dagger hilt at my belt and pulled it while watching the creature. I sensed the second one recovering from behind me. The frost had made the soul of the first fade long ago. I saw the deepest torture in the eyes of the third as it pulled away. As the second charged forward, I turned with tremendous poise flinging the dagger, the blade drove itself in the chest of the beast. The lifeless beast slammed it's right shoulder into my body as I slid away in an attempt to get out of the way, I grabbed it by the fur of it's back turning and flinging it. It slid on it's left shoulder. Lifeless and it's lolled head dipped into a pool of water. I stood, my pale blue blood dripping down my forearm and sliding down my back. I shook hair from my face, composing myself as the wound began healing itself.

I heard low whimpering behind me, and slowly I collected my weapons, whiping the black ooze from the blades on their fur. The third had crawled away with a broken body and my heart ached for the poor thing. I turned and the prey of these dead beasts was alive though fearful, hiding behind the rubble of some sort of angelic statue. Ironic considering the innocence of this young girl. She looked to be about 15 and I sensed the morale strength beneath her. She was a beautiful person. A spectacular person. But she cowered at the sight of me.

In a way, I was. I was on the side that had started the destruction of this world. This girl was why I would die, or be consumed by the fires of the abyss. I cleared my throat and the sound brought her further behind the cover of the rubble.

I said to her with a calm and comforting voice, "I mean you no harm, I managed a crooked smile, sliding into a nonchalant crouch. Fanning my wings to balance me. The feathers in place on the right shining pale blue with the blood from my shoulder wound. The pain had long since subsided. She peeked from behind the rubbled pulling herself up to peer at me. I struggled to make my smile comforting. "It's okay, I won't hurt you." Her eyes were moist with tears and I held a scarred, pale hand out to her. She hesitated.

But rose and walked slowly and healf heartedly to me. He frail, tiny hand grabbed my own. I looked at her with reassurance in my eyes. She was dirty, grimy, her skin was tan beneath the layers of filth, her clothes were ragged. Jeans, her blue t-shirt streaked and worse for wear. Her hair was ragged and clumped together with matted dirt. But her eyes, were clean, her soul, was clean. I squeezed her little hand gently.

I smiled before asking her assertively, "Do you believe in him now?" She looked confused, but a moment later she registered what I was asking.

"Now more than ever, yes," Tears were brought back to her eyes and I reached up, wiping a tear from the edge of her eye gently, carrying dirt with it. "I just don't understand all of this.." I grimaced looking down, she wasn't ready yet.

"Be strong," I told her, with a heavy heart I pulled my hand away looking her in the eyes with a smile. "Learn from your races mistakes." I turned walking a few steps before with a few flaps of my large feathered wings. I was lifted from the ground and carried off..

I flew to the statue of liberty, it had crumpled inward and only the right shoulder, head, arm, and torch were left of it. I stayed in the torch. To collect my thoughts. Most angels that volunteered to do God's bidding just wanted time away, or lusted after battle and sin. Most would only travel in groups of one or two. They were out there, a couple hundred fighting a war against thousands of demons. But demons of low power for the most part. Hell Hounds, Imps, Lesser Demons. I landed gracefully upon the mangled railing that used to be, the torch room was at a tilt and I adjusted my wings, folding them. I climbed down into the room with ease. Sleep would leave anyone vulnerable to the attacks of demons, it wasn't nessecary of angels. The humans, however, required it. So in a way, they were completely vulnerable.

Greater Demons, Demon Lords. These were creatures you did not wish to run into. Or even Fallen Angels, most angels living in sin were cowardly in nature, but Fallen or Arch Angels retained poise and knew combat well, most of the volunteers found it extremely difficult to combat a fellow angel. Avoiding combat almost completely and all together. I had only managed to kill two greater demons in the first days, and had not yet come upon a demon lord. I had managed to slay an Arch Angel by the name of Hazielel, a man of great confidence and pride. His maneuverability in the sky was unbelievable and it wasn't until I had managed to clip a wing did I manage to freeze the man whole. I split the ice with one thrust of my sword.

The night passed and I erupted from the entrance to the torch room. The sky was of gently grays, I flew over the desolate city. The water levels were slowly draining. They had been unbelievable the first five days after the rapture. Now they were getting lower and lower each day. This was good news for the humans, but unfortunatley, also for the demons. Creatures that shouldn't be there now swam in those waters. Horrid earthly creatures. I caught sight of something and swerved suddenly, hovering in the air.

My eyes widened in relative horror, then narrowed in determination. A greater demon. Of ten or so feet. It was a deep red. Eyes of darkness. Covered in bulbous muscles. A crooked smile of wicked intent. I drew my seraphim sword.

I fanned my wings out, they caught the wind, and I picked up speed, soaring. It looked up to see me, and I saw all to clearly a massive hammer, he raised it over his head preparing to crush me into the ground. I squeezed the hilt of the sword in my right hand, I reered my left back, clawing it. Cold held my whole body, suddenly I was nearly staring the demon in the face and I extended my arm, the cold gathered on the hammer, then down the arm. Only slowing the strike as I flew in, stabbing the creature with sickening effect. The blade buried itself in it's chest, and black ooze erupted, sprinkling across my face and body armour, the bicep and forearm of my right arm.

There was a sickening crack as the ice fell from the arm. I was to close for it to use the hammer. It roared attempting to bash me in the head with an enormous, balled fist. I planted my feet on the creatures abdomen, drawing my wings in close to my back. Then pulled the blade free spinning and kicking away, slashing the fist as I went. I fanned my wings out, catching the air and landing several feet away, gracefully.

I heard curses from behind and turned at the sight of a large piece of rubble that it'd hurled at me. I drew my wings in, doing my best to dodge it, but it caught my left shoulder and I was thrown back by the impact. "Ergh!" I screamed in anger and pain. Suddenly Hellhounds jumped from the rubble, only two, but I was vulnerable. On my back putting pressure on my wings. My left shoulder in excruciating pain. I tried to pull my fingers into a fist on my left hand, to no avail. I'd lost use for a while. The rubble had no doubt caused nerve damage.

One of the Hellhounds jumped at me, looking to clamp it's jaws down on my collarbone. I drove the sword up, burying the blade in it's throat. More ooze covered me, sliding down the blade. Positioning wouldn't allow me to simply rip the sword from the clutches of the throat. The other Hellhound clamped it's jaws down on my left bicep, pulling me. I let go of my sword, balling a fist and striking repeatedly at the beasts left ribs. It yelped but held on. I winced gritting my teeth.

Screaming in effort, I abused my wings using them to prop me up. The steps of the Greater demon could be heard as it walked forth to finish me. I rose, lifting the beast with me. It through me off balance, trying to pull me back to the ground. I snarled, the tips of my right hand fingers turning to an icy hot. I held them out as if they were clawed, thrusting them into the ribs of the Hellhound. It let go yelping spurraticly, and I wrapped my fingers around one of it's ribs. Pulling until it came loose.

I reeled away, pulling my fingers from the beast's body. I let out a savage kick at it's side, and it fell away. I turned to see the Greater demon swinging it's massive hammer at the mass of me. Black demon ichor oozed down it's body. I sprung with sudden strength into the blow, making it ineffective I grabbed the demon by it's horn with my right hand. It retreated a few steps, not sure what to do. I still couldn't quite use my left arm. So I walked up the body using my right hand to steady me. Suddenly it dropped the hammer. It raised it's right hand, grabbing me by the abdomen, it's claw pierced my armour, drawing pale blue blood. I smiled wickedly, pulling my dagger from it's sheathe and in one quick movement. Buried it in the wrist of the Greater Demon.

It pulled it's hand away screaming and I clung to it's shoulder, dropping and wrapping my legs around it's neck. I squeezed at the neck with my knees, grabbing the demon by the horn and pulling, falling back to throw it off balance. I screamed in effort. It was fading, it's eyes flickering, and it weakly attempted to pry my legs. Suddenly it fell, shaking the ground with the impact. It wasn't dead. I winced pulling myself out from under the head of the demon, I weakly pulled myself from the ground.

It was unbearable pain, but I managed my way to the wrist, and I pulled the dagger free. I stabbed at the throat until it was a mess. Until I knew it was dead. I unlatched my armour, letting it fall away. I dropped the dagger, and fell into a deep puddle of water. My body was beaten and broken and I'd need a long while to heal.

My body gleamed with the water, my pale blue blood created a colorful lighting effect as the sun shone over the standing buildings, rising from the East. My armor was in a heap and my body was hard at work struggling to heal itself. My weapons were far away from my grasp and I could hardly move. My legs didn't want to move, my left arm was useless. My wings beaten and bruised. Demonic ichor was a bitch to get off, excuse my language Lord. My mind was ablaze. I was tired, weak, vulnerable. That Hellhound was alive and a few feet away with no healing abilities. I felt sorrow and hurt in my heart for it. I furrowed my eyebrows, clicking my tongue and gently, with a raspy voice calling to it. It crawled to me.

This would make my strife take even longer, but I grabbed it up in my right arm, pulling it in close. A large gash opened on my chest and a peculiar ray of light shown from the sky, the creature licked my fingers as it's wound almost instantly began to heal. The light subsided. I began to drift off, it was uncontrollable. I knew I was subject to the elements, now.

Standing at the top of one of the still standing but ruined buildings, I looked down at the apocalyptic wasteland that was once a proud city in America, and saw my next victim. He was a stubby man, short and fat, and he was chasing a girl. The girl obviously didn't like the attention of this man and was trying to escape his prying hands.

Silly man I thought with a smirk, Although truthfully I should allow things like this to happen to help cause chaos

Sitting down on the overhanging ledge and allowed the scene to roll on for a bit longer, but as soon as he started to take off her clothes and the poor girl was screaming for help, the urge was to powerful to stop, so I stood up and dropped of the ledge of the building.

Just before my feet hit the floor, I opened my raven like wings with a loud 'whoosh' and landed directly behind my victim.

"Sir, if I were you, I'd let this young lady go now" I warned, my amber eyes glowing.

The young girls eyes opened up and looked at me through her tear filled eyes. As soon as she took in the sight of me, her eyes widened in hope and fear.

"Huh, you would would you?" He replied cockily, "And what if I didn't?"

"Then I would have to end your pathetic life here and now." I stated simply

"And just who do you think you are?" He questioned taking his head from his victims neck and turned to face me

"I don't just think, I know that I'm a Demon" I smirked as his eyes landed on me

I woke up in a daze, the Hellhound was there still silently guarding me. I felt sick to my stomach, naseaus. I grabbed an outcropping metal bar that belonged to rubble set high, and pulled myself up with my right arm. It hurt like hell. I could move my arm, if only barely. The Hellhound stirred and fell back a few steps to stand by my side. A massive beast. I stroked his hide gently, practicing the use of my left arm. I struggled to remember where my sword was. It was getting dark. My legs felt as jelly. My wings cracked and feathers fell as I struggled to fan them out. I mustered my strength, fighting back agony as I collected my weapons.

My armour was pretty much ruined, and so I left it. I walked silently, the dog never left my side, and instead pressed itself to my left side attempting to help me keep balance. I looked to the sky and prayed as I went.

Suddenly I heard voices. A demoness and a man. I drew my sword, wincing lightly. I crept along, hushing my new companion. Peeking around some rubble. There is just as much danger where there is beauty when dealing with a demoness. And she was beautiful. I stood gaining my composure and preparing to attack as best I could. It would be difficult to fight in this state.

The fear that rushed into his whole being was intoxicating. It was pleasurable to watch all the colour to run from his face, his eyes widen and his pupils dilate. To see the physical shaking that started from his inner being and travelled all over his body. I could taste the fear that emitted from his entire being and closed my eyes to take in a deep breath of this fear.

I was so intoxicated by the man's fear that I almost didn't sense another being wall towards the scene. Wanting to finish this and get away from any chance of confrontation I crossed the gap that was between me and my prey in only fluid motion, and broke his neck, with a very satisfying snap. I don't normally kill, but I had a reason for this one. He sexually assaulted someone, and had committed many crimes before. Plus, seeing as he was a human, an unfit one at that, there would be no struggle, no fight, so there was no point in prolonging his worthless excuse for a life.

My work done, I turned my back on the girl and began to walk in a general direction, so I could go back to what I do best, watching the entertaining scenes of humans trying to continue their life.

"Y-you aren't going to kill or t-torture me?" came the quiet voice of the young girl

"Do you want your life to end?" I answered with a question, still walking away.

"N-no"

"I suggest finding a place to hide for the night, then to make sure you move every night"

Then with that, I continued walking in the general direction of forward, created a small wormhole in the shadows, walked through it and closed it off behind me.

Coward. The Hellhound rushed from behind me as I pulled myself away from the rubble. It went to the place where the wormhole had opened and closed, looking confused and irritated. Shockwaves of pain shot up my legs from my ankles and the bottoms of my feet. I must have looked a mess to this girl. I smiled comfortingly at her hoping to put her at ease. I limped forward offering her my hand. She took it, and I helped her up with care, almost falling forward, myself.

I squeezed her hand gently holding it for a moment. She smiled and looked down, blushing. Strange, humans. I slipped a careful finger under her chin and softly got her to look me in the eyes. Pain and hurt, the occurence of late played along in the irises of her beautiful blue eyes. I pulled my finger away, holding her gaze for a moment.

My voice was raspy and restricted but I managed speech. "Do you believe in him now?" I asked watching her movement. You could tell she did. She hesitated but registered what I was asking. She nodded. Her irises were becoming shiny and wet with tears. I pulled my dagger from my belt still holding her hand gently. She looked confused and stunned. Betrayal registered in those blue eyes. But I would bring her salvation. And I did, peace, in those blue eyes as I slipped the blade into her chest with ease and care. She was in Heaven now.

Appearing at my usual ledge which overlooked the apocalyptic city I watched the injured Angel end the poor girls life, tch, she could have been good entertainment I though sourly and scanned the rest of the destroyed area for anything that may be of any form of relief from this boredom.

Finishing my scan of the city, I found nothing of interest, and huffed in annoyance at the fact that that girl could have been good entertainment for days.

Suddenly an idea came to mind, what if I were to watch the Angel? I'm sure he could provide some entertainment, I mean he has a Hellhound helping and looking after him... Yeah, I think I will watch him

I looked down at the Angel to get a better look at him. Hmm His body looked as if he had healed the worse part of his injuries, his wings looked out of place but they would heal soon along with the rest of him. He looked strong willed, looking closer I saw he had a black stain of his right ribs. Yes, he'll be very interesting to watch indeed I concluded with a toothy smirk and got into a crouch so I would be hidden in the shadows.

My wings hadn't healed quite yet, feathers fell in a bloody mess behind me as I traveled on foot through the wasteland that had once been New York City. The Hellhound traveled by my side. I already loved the beast that at one point would have killed me. I had set the body of the girl down gently. The thought of her in heaven made me feel weightless. It gave hope to me, something I'd lost for the most part. You could never have no in your heart. I spoke words of the Bible as I walked, the blood of my wounds and the demonic ichor had dried and my hair was unkempt and wild.

How would I go about shelter for the night? The sun was nearly gone over the horizon. I scratched gently behind the ears of the Hellhound, he seemed to love it, slowly sinking downward and nudging his head against my arm. I smiled. I'd long since gotten over the excruciating pain throughout my body. It didn't bother me any longer. I came upon a shallow part of the city. It was still a bit flooded. I sighed retracing my steps. I found a small cavernous place in the rubble and crawled inside after getting the Hellhound in, I would need to name him soon.

I would sleep tonight. I held my sword at my side, drifting into an uneasy and nightmare filled sleep. The Hellhound comforted me, resting it's large head on my abdomen.

I crawled along in the shadows, careful to stay a safe distance away, and followed the injured Angel to his small sleeping space in the rubble. As he went inside, without checking the surrounding area first, silly mistake she observed.

I don't want to hurt him I told myself, Just want him to be healed enough so he'll be entertaining to follow

As she neared the entrance, she heard a noise in the distance. She turned her head towards the noise, flexed out her wings and pushed up with just enough power so she could glide on the wind currents going the direction the noise came from. Flapping her black wings, she stayed still in the air for a bit, listening for the noise again, then changing her course and ended on top of some rubble and looked down at the scene.

There were 7 people huddled around a small fire, 2 males, 3 females, and a young child. The 2 males were still holding onto the body, and one of the females looked distraught. The body was the girl from earlier. So she had a company to come back to...

It was obviously the distraught female's cries that had caught my attention. She looked similar to the dead girl, some form of relative?

"Be quiet, we don't want to attract attention to us, do we??" The elder man hissed in a gruff voice, "Calm down, okay? We'll do some sort of burial for her and move in the morning"

Too late I though when he said the 'attract attention' part, he was the leader of the group, that much was clear.

"He's right, she must be in a better place than this now anyway" The other female told the distraught one in a calm, soothing voice

The distraught female nodded and started to calm herself down

Now this seems more interesting than the injured Angel at the moment I smiled inwardly Now to watch this unfurl and see how much chaos I can cause Smirking I stalked across to a place hidden in shadows, sat down and watched this new drama unfurl.

I woke from my sleep suddenly, screaming in agony and clawing at my chest. "Ragggh!" The Hellhound jumped up. I pulled myself from the clutches of the rubble. My wings had healed well and were almost somewhat ready for use. I looked down the path. Only water and rubble that way. The Hellhound hopped down from the rubble sniffing and looking around bewildered. I was taking heavy breathes, still shaken from the pain of my subconscious. Something was terribly wrong, perhaps a Demon Overlord had surfaced, pulled itself from the depths of hell. My left arm ached, but I could use it. My legs ached, but I could use them. I began a jog in the direction I'd come.

The Hellhound followed behind me. The night covered the city in a sheet of darkness, I pulled my dagger from it's sheathe and held it out before me. It shone bright in the darkness.

I lay back onto the cool crumbled rock of some building that had been ruined. The humans had calmed down and held a small service for the girl that was in their group, now they were all settling down for the night.

Sighing, I looked up to the dark sky and started to count the stars guess it's something to do instead of watching that injured Angel

After a few seconds of counting I gave up and rolled my head to one side to look at the humans, maybe I should scare them?, the idea surfaced but I pushed it to the back of my mind, some form of Demon you are I shook my head and decided to go back to that Angel and see how he was doing.

I cautiously got to my feet and lifted myself to the sky, the only thing the humans would have heard is the 'whoosh' the air made as I launched myself upwards. I made my way quickly to the Angel's little cave and knew he wasn't there, I couldn't hear the Hellhounds deep breaths, and looked around. Then suddenly I knew the atmosphere had changed, knew I should have stayed with the Angel, the moment I'm gone, something interesting is about to happen

I flapped my wings to get higher into the air and saw a paw print of the Hellhounds in some damp ground, it pointed in the direction they must have headed, so I followed after them

I hopped onto a heavily slanted building, running along with practiced grace. I could see at my feet through the windows of the building, wreckage of office chairs and desks. The Hellhound followed behind, with less grace. In the sky, an unnatural darkness. My eyes narrowed in determination. I was unfortunatley right..This battle could be the death of me. Pain held my body, it also drove me forth. I slowed to a walk as we came to the end of the building. Then suddenly I thought of my new companion. I turned to him and he struggled to get balance as he stopped. I smiled genuinley, grabbing him behind the ears gently and scratching them. "Well, Ahzrukhal." I had named him.

"Go guard the..Erhm. Camp." He looked confused. Hellhounds were smart creatures, truly. I brought my right hand up pointing. He hesitated but seemed to register what I meant by guard. He nuzzled his head against my arm for a moment then trotted off toward the rubble. I turned, he shouldn't die fighting my battles. I sheathed the dagger, pulling my sword free. I dove from the top of the building. My broken wings catching just enough wind to send me in an uneasy glide to the ground before me. I landed, running, toward the unnatural black light.

My wings were carrying me fast and I watched as the Angel sent the Hellhound away and dive off the building, looking towards the unnatural darkness in front of me I suddenly felt fear. I wasn't doing the mission I was sent here for, had this Demon Overlord come to punish me and take me home?

Of course not I shook the thought from my mind, A normal Demon would be sent as the messenger to bring me back, not this Demon overlord, obviously me and other Demons, if there are others, haven't been causing the amount of chaos they wanted

Deciding to continue watching from the sidelines, as I always did, I landed and began to follow the Angel towards the unnatural darkness, following more closely than I would usually be comfortable with.

In my haste and moment of courageous thoughts. I didn't notice the demonesses energy trailing behind me. She had no doubt fallen in to far. Suddenly I saw it, in the sky, a demon of about seven feet tall. Covered in black, full platemail. It held a flail of great power. The skin was a lighter shade of red and it's irises were a fear inflicting deep and hate filled black. It's horns were curved gently, pale white. It was an odd demon. Suddenly a lesser erupted from the rubble to my right looking to get the better of me while my attention was on it's overlord. I slid forward into a crouch, swinging my sword in an arch. The lesser dropped behind me, decapitated.

I rose from the slide in a run. I wouldn't be able to defeat it from the ground. I looked about finding a tall building. I looked away at the Overlord. He'd spotted me, pointing and shouting commands that at this distance I couldn't register. I hopped onto the rubble, jumping from piece to piece. Lessers climbed after me. One with small black wings flew forward at me, the average height of them of about five foot five, I didn't pause. I kept pace using an upward strike as I hopped to the right. I chopped it's right wing right off.

It screetched behind me as I went, pain was all I could feel. There was never no in my heart. But I was sure that this may be the death of me.

Watching the Demon Overlord, I knew I should succumb to the orders he gave, and try to kill the Angel, but I just couldn't bring myself to do it, just the thought of it made me stop in my spot.

To do my duty and a Demon, or to become and Outcast Demon? I thought to myself confused, I never wanted to be a Demon... I just woke up as one

I had questioned my reason for being a Demon before, I always believed that I didn't do anything wrong in my previous life, if I even had one. I always question why I would become a Demon, and if God loved all his creations, why he never tried to save me from the darkness.

So when it came to it, the actual question was, do I help the Angel who is beloved by Him who doesn't love me, or succumb to the duties of a Demon?

In a split second, I made my decision. I rushed forward and, using the higher rubble as a launching pad and opened my wings, if I help this Angel, would He forgive we and help wash away the stains of my soul?

I screamed in agony. There was one large, last piece of rubble before I could begin my steep climb. I hopped to the right, using my right leg to propell me onto the building. It was set at a slight slant of about 75 degrees. I grabbed a ledge with my left hand. Pulling myself up. Lessers were gaining on me, I pulled myself up, one ledge at a time. My body ached with every slight movement. I gritted my teeth in frustration, but continued. I turned to see them struggling to follow, their lesser strength and height keeping them from making great progress. Few with wings circled looking for an oppertunity to best attack.

One dove at me suddenly as I approached the top. I jumped from my current ledge swiveling my hips and releasing a devestating kick. It hit the shoulder blade and left wing. The creature reeled back, not managing to recover before falling a twenty or thirty feet. I struggled to recover as well, barely managing to grab the next ledge.

I watched from the sky as the Angel climbed up the rubble one ledge at a time and then I saw one small Demon dive at him. Tch, stupid Demon I though and scanned the crowd of all the lesser Demons and made a plan to start with the ones on the outside until I got all of them.

Diving down to the rubble, I landed with a satisfying 'thump' and chose one of the small Demons as my prey and kicked it in it's throat. Before any of the other Lesser Demons had registered what had happened, I reached behind my back to release my Sais from there hibernation, and turned to stab another in the leg and then trip another up by sticking out my leg. The affect of tripping up one made a small effect of domino's going on. Once I had done this I launched myself back into the air, Sais still in hand. Guess I've changed sides after all...

Pulled myself onto the top of the building, sliding into a stance that allowed me balance on the sloped roof. My whole body ached. I linked my fingers, cracking them at the knuckles. I pulled my sword from it's sheathe. This would be a difficult battle. I looked toward the Overlord, who'd spotted me. He was hesitating, not sure how to go about my extermination. I smiled, gripping the sword in my right hand, I brought my lef tup to beckon him to come forth.

He began swirling his flail in the air, he was a bit slow about it at first. He stopped then, and so did the flail. A mere fifteen or so feet away. He was testing my ability to fly. "Come on then.." I'd say calmly. My left hand became frosty, my whole core was chilled, I could feel it in my bones. The Overlord flew forward, swinging the flail at my head. I ducked beneath it in a lunge. He screetched as my seraphim sword pierced his black armour. I placed my left hand to the hilt driving it in even father. Frost collected on the knob of the hilt and erupted along the blade. The impact had driven him reeling back, off the building.

He raised his flail and as he went to bring it down I let go of the blade, grabbing the Overlord's foot before I would have started a freefall. I grabbed the back of his left knee as he struggled to kick me off with the other foot. His left leg was frozen before he could do anything about it. I held on to his right with my right arm wrapped around his calf region. I hadn't noticed him switch hands and bring his flail down. It hit my back, pale blue blood erupted from my wings and I let out a cry of agony, my dark gray feathers floating down, hundreds of feet.

He looked to bring the flail down again, I grabbed my dagger from my belt, reaching up and stabbing the demon in the lower spine. It screetched once more. He tried flying a ways to smack me into the building. I pulled what was left of my wings in close, pulling myself in as much as I could and climbing farther up the leg. The edge of the building passed within an inch from my lower back and I dropped rolling on my broken wings to my feet. Before he could turn fully I ran forward, I'd tackle the Overlord, grabbing his wings and driving my left shoulder into his armoured abdomen. One of his arms was free, but I'd caught the other in my hold. We were accelerating quickly in a downward spiral.

He brought his free hand up beating my back and my wings. It was unbearable, shocking pain. It was nothing, though, compared to the impact. It was jarring. We met the ground, I drove him into some concrete rubble, but inertia was against me, I fell forward, smacking my body into the concrete as well. I fell back, standing. I reached behind me. I cryed seering tears, of pain as I ripped my wings away. Blood flowed freely from the shoulder blades of my back. I walked forward as the Overlord was pulling himself from the concrete rubble. He didn't much appreciate it, I guess, based on the anger filled eyes. Demonic ichor was evident beneath the armour and over the place where my sword had entered his abdomen.

I smiled wickedly at the Overlord rushing forward, suddenly he was crouched swinging the flail at my legs, I leapt forward, over the swing, driving my knee into his forehead. It fell back, cursing. I rushed to get him while he was stunned, grabbing the hilt of my sword with both hands and struggling to get it free. It came suddenly and I nearly fell back. He rose, swinging the flail at my core. It was the only oppertunity I'd get. I took a defensive stance, checking my strike before bringing my sword down at the wrist of his flail hand. The flail hit, damn near opening a hole in my chest. But so to did my hit, the hand fell, the flail in it. I fell to my knees, blood fell over my bottom lip. The Overlord stepped back screaming, at the shock and pain. I pulled myself forward into a crouch and stabbed him in the stomach. He grabbed my right arm with his only left, left hand and I could feel the bone break. I pulled the sword free with my left hand. Spinning to get rid of the Overlord's grip on me, as I came back I released a swing, I put all my strength into that swing. I fell as I completed it.

Fell forward in an exhausted heep. The head of the demon, fell as well.

North America, Ruins of St Louis, Missouri:

Bullets richoet off the crumbling bricks of the dilapidated brownstones. The young girl jumps and rolls through an open first floor window as bullets zoom past her striking the back wall of the long abandoned apartment building. She rolls back toward the window and ducks low under it as she pulls a P90 assault rifle from under her brown drab robes. She peaks her brown eyes over the ledge and to look out in the rubble strewn streets. In the dying light of the day she sees nothing but knows that out there in the wasteland of old Lacledes Landing they lurk. She takes a short sharp breath and scans the upper floors of the surrounding buildings as she knows she has limited options. She can run and hope to clear the city before darkness falls or try to end this before the noise brings something far worse then murderers and rapist. Her eyes snap to the street level and she sees the two bandits who had been tailing her since she left her safe house earlier in the day.

The two slink from burned out car to rubble pile as they look warily about pointing their guns at every noise and shadow. She grimaces as she slowly pokes the muzzle of her gun over the windows ledge and takes aim. Time seems to slow as she begins to lightly press the pad of her index finger on the trigger. Her breath catches in throat as she watches a massive shadow form behind the two bandits. They take no notice as the shadow forms into a massive 6 legged demon. The monster's upper body rears back as it opens it's fanged mouth and cloud of black writhing smoke oozes out. The two bandits notice the smoke too late. They begin to convulse as their bodies seem to dry out and mummify right in the middle of the street. The smoke pulls away from them and drags a slight pulsing blue light from the now corpses as it does. The hideous demon closes it's mouth on the blue light and emits low rumbling as it's head pans back and forth as if sensing something.

The girl breath catches in her throat as the beast begins to slowly advance toward the street toward her position. The six hideous legs smashing everything in it's place as it advances. She swallows hard and holds her breath until something curious happens. The beast stops, it raises up on it's legs and it's hideous head turns toward the west. The creature lets a few deep whooping roar loose from it's mouth and then a high pitch squeal almost akin to a pleat of fear as it turns to black smoke and melts into the ground as if fleeing. The girl trembles as she takes a deep breath and sighs. She failed to notice that full night had fallen. She looks out on to the street with puzzlement as she sees an unnatural light bathing the streets. She slowly cautiously crawls over the window sill and eases out into the street to look to the west, the same direction the demon had looked before fleeing. Her eyes grow wide as she looks upon a vast red boiling cloud dominating the horizon. Even against the dark of night the sight is frightening as she sees in the center of the clouds red lighting stabbing down into the distant ground.......

North American, High Over the Ruins of Jefferson City, Missouri:

In the skies over the ruins of the capital rotunda of the state capital the boiling storm clouds slowly begin to part as a massive gothic castle begins to slowly lower itself from the center of the maelstrom. The bottom of the castle is a massive chunk of black granite shaped as if some massive hand had ripped the whole structure from the ground itself. The soaring spires of the castle are struck by the red lighting constantly as menacing flying demons flap their wings as they fly about the towers and parapets of the castle....

Deep within SkyTomb Castle, 3 massive heavily muscled demons march. They shake the floors of the floating monstrosity as they move through a set of black stone doors into a vast cathedral like room. Massive columns hold the grand vaulting ceiling high overhead. At the end of the room a massive set of stairs lead up to a great set of sealed doors. The doors are highly decorated with bas relief's depicting scenes of damnation. Fires that shoot high in the sky, demons in all their glory and the souls forever trapped there. Eerily the scene seems to always be shifting moving ever changing as one looks upon it. The 3 demon lords stop short of the steps as they look upon the female demon that sits upon the steps. One of the demon lords moves forward and with deep powerful voice says," What is the meaning of this Destain? Who are you to bring to bring the Holy Sanctum Skytomb to this forsaken world?" The female demon looks curiously at the brute of a demon lord. She slowly raises, she imperial purple robes cascading from her shoulders. Her ample bosom enclosed with in a silver chest plate. Her flowing red hair parted to allow her slender horns to show. Her coal black eyes looks upon the demon lord Magog and she smirks as she takes in the sight the heavily muscled lord hold a massive battle hammer in hand effortlessly. His massive rack of horns a tribute to his power amongst demons.

His entire body enclosed with dragon scale armor. His yellow fangs flash at her as she says," Who am I to do this Magog?" She looks at the other two and says," Do you Belial the Scourge and you Raum the Hated ask the same question?" Belial the two headed horror shrugs, his wolf head growls and snaps it's teeth while the serpent head cocks to the side as the voice of Belial seems to emanate from everywhere and nowhere all at once. "We would never questions Destain the Choosen, but we are curious as well." Raum growls as his massive stone body grinds the floor beneath him. The opening for his mouth glows as blue light flashes and the sound that comes forth is a mix of the screaming of the damned and the roar of hell itself. "We await your words..." Destain smirks at Magog and turning her back allows her black wings to flare. Her lithe form moves seductively up the steps as she says ,"Skytomb has come because it is time for him to come amongst us once again." The three Demon Lords look at one another with a mixture of looks as Destain walks up the rest of the steps and approaches the doors. She whispers something as she brings her face close to it. She slightly opens her mouth as her long serpentine tongue lashes out and traces a symbol on the door. She backs away and quickly moves down the steps as a massive shockwave radiates out from the doors.

The power of the wave moves even the mighty demon lords backward as the doors slowly open of their own accord. The lords watch as the doors open and beyond lies a vast black swirling morass. Every now and then large red eyes turn and look out from the morass before moving away quickly. From the black nether emerges a small emaciated figure. The small figure seems bent and stooped, covered over by humble brown robes, the figure uses a black gnarled wooden cane to assist in walking. The Demon Lords immediately drop to their knees as the figure stops at the top of the steps and looks down on them. One skeletal hand reaches up and peels back the hood to expose the face of an ancient old man. His eyes are sunken deep into his sockets.

His wrinkled face smiles at them as his ancient dry voice echoes out, "Ahhhh, my most beloved children." The 3 Demon Lords rise as Magog looks up and holding out his arms in welcome says," My Lord Mephistopheles I did not think I would ever see you again?" The wizened old figure chuckles weakly as he taps his cane and massive oak throne erupts out of a shaft of fire behind him. Without looking he sits down in the throne and says," Why is that Magog? Surly you did not think I would abandon my favored...my children. What is a few thousand years eh?" The old man leans back in the throne and says," Now that is enough we have plenty of time to catch up, but we must prepare, we have much work to do here on this plane young ones. Magog, I task you with building an army, go, enslave as many lower demons as you can find. Take Raum with you." Raum and Magog bow and they turn and leave the room.

The old one looks down upon Belial and says, "Belial, your unique skills will be needed. I need to know how many Gods still lurk in the ethers of this plane, and how many of their servants roam this planet." Belial's two head nod as the hulking body turns and leaves the chamber. Destain slowly approaches and folds her wings against her back in a show of submission as she kneels next to throne and kissing the skeletal hand of the old one says," And me father?" Mephistopheles looks down at her and quirking his head says," You will remain by side and advise me as I proceed with my plans." She nods as he looks distant and says," This filthy dimension would not allow me to pass through the barriers with my full power. I will time to build to my full power in this dimension."

She looks thoughtful as she says," What of the war between the Fallen and their father?" The ancient one scowls and says," The tiffs of Lucifer and his father is not my main concern. Sadly, he wields more power on this world then I...for now. So I must play the part of politician or risk having my plans up rooted." Mephistopheles looks wickedly at Destain and says," How has the war gone, has Lucifer entered the field yet." Destain shakes her head and raises as she turns to the massive open doors of the portal. She waves her hand at it as the throne that the old sits on slowly turns of it's own accord so that he can face the portal. The image goes from the swirling black mass to a view of an aerial battle between Angels and Demons over the ruins a city. Mephistopheles scowls as he says," Fallen angels leading demons, how ignoble." Destain with pity on her face says," After your fall many of the demon lords fled to their own realms but many more willing kneeled to Lucifer and his fallen angels if it meant a chance to come to Earth and gains souls." Mephistopheles skeletal hand clutches at the arms of the throne as he says," I have much to redress, but one thing at a time daughter. If any of Lucifer's emissaries come, do not kill them. Bring them to me, I would play nicely for now. And find out how many souls are left on this dirt pile, I grow hungry." Destain bows as she moves from the throne room leaving Mephistopheles to plot his next move.........

Re: The Twisted Rapture.

Getting out of 1st person. I kept finding myself mixing other characters. So I gotta be careful about that.

Re: The Twisted Rapture.

You can post in the roleplayers wanted thing, but hell. Don't even remember how to get there.

Re: The Twisted Rapture.

Man we need some more people in this, this is a great story.

How do we get moved to the front page of this site I wonder?

Re: The Twisted Rapture.

I hope everything is alright, as well. Goodluck in handling it, and we'll leave him be for now, he can fade into it all and if you decide to come back, make a reappearance if you find time to come back.

Maybe someone else will join, eventually.

Re: The Twisted Rapture.

Yikes,

I hope everything is ok.

But man does this kind of put things in a lurch.

And we were just starting to gear up for some versus action.

No prob. I can adjust the story

Re: The Twisted Rapture.

Hey guys,

I'm really sorry, but something has come up irl and I'm not going to be up to posting anymore. This rp seems really cool, and it's a real shame, but I'm afraid I have to leave. Sorry that it's so sudden. Someone can adopt Darren if they want, or you can simply have him get killed or disappear.

Goodbye

Re: The Twisted Rapture.

No worries, I had intended for him to still be near defenceless against an angel like Charoum.

Re: The Twisted Rapture.

By the way, in no way am I undermining your character. Just trying to play into him being a weak and easy target(For your character) and develop on the plot.

Re: The Twisted Rapture.

Hahaha, yea. His mind might not be able to keep up with his mouth, but it's still pretty quick.

Re: The Twisted Rapture.

I kind of have this evil plot in mind that old Mephistopheles is up to.

His Demon Lords are a vital part of it but not so vital that they cannot fall.

Belial is not interested in killing you yet. That may draw the attention of an Arc-angel and Belial has orders not to disturb Lucifer's little war yet.

My next post should clear things up a bit and leave you with a better idea of where things are going.

And wow is it me or is Darren one clever individual?

Re: The Twisted Rapture.

Just to be sure, I'm not the angel, you're fighting, right?

Re: The Twisted Rapture.

@ParagonRex: Out of curiosity, how do you see this fight between Belial and Charoum going down? Are they just going to end up going their separate ways, or are you willing for Belial to die? Keep it a surprise if you want to, I was just curious as you have several other characters

Re: The Twisted Rapture.

I fully understand you wanting to get on a level where you can be an element of worry for either side of the war. A challenge to demons or angels. I think it depends on which way you're going, like which side you take, which way your power goes. But yes, on that, Godly level. The idea would be that everyone keeps to one power, but they grow stronger in that area, along with strength and such.

The challenge is that we can't godmod. But our character's can have god-like abilities. <_>

Re: The Twisted Rapture.

Alright, where would you estimate his eventual power limit? Belial level? More? Less? Obviously it would take a while to get to that stage, but I don't want him to always just be tossed around by any high-level angel/demon he encounters.

Re: The Twisted Rapture.

Aftershock has a brilliant idea going. Only one power, guys. Once you've gotten to doing what a demon lord or angel can do, you gotta stop, alright, Aftershock? Buuut, shall we take it this way, the more POWERFUL(Demonlord, or up. Angel or Archangel or up.) demons you kill. The stronger your character is all around. Like for me, it would be gaining God's favour in battle, Belial and them, not sure, Mephistopheles favour? Though he isn't technically of Satan status yet. I'm looking for suggestions to make the plot thicker. Give it more substance. It may evolve to the point, the good characters are directly opposing Mephistopheles and his ambitions.

Re: The Twisted Rapture.

Thank you, thank you, applause and money both appreciated!

Re: The Twisted Rapture.

I enjoyed the witty banter as well. X)

Re: The Twisted Rapture.

That was the most hilarious post I have ever read.

Seriously, that was a great monologue.

I cannot wait to see how Belial reacts

;)

Re: The Twisted Rapture.

Darren gets a little desperate.

Re: The Twisted Rapture.

Sorry, Bizarre. I didn't see that you had accustomed your post to include me until I'd reread the page! I did my best to change mine real quick without having to redo it completely. Rushed between roleplays lately.
