Lauren Elenred's Story

She sighed and looked off to one side, avoiding his glance while she pondered her answer. She knew her reasoning was no longer valid and that Phoenix's were widely accepted in Sor now, but she grew up in the world where they had been her most hated enemy. She'd seen what they were capable of, after all it was a Phoenix that had forced Wing to reveal his own powers. Perhaps it was that fact, that they had no regard for even their own kind, that he'd forced Wing to become her enemy. That man who would lay in a pool of his own blood only three minutes later. "Forgive me for being the way I am, but I don't trust the Phoenix. Unlike most, my hatred doesn't stem from jealousy. Power like that should never exist within a human-esque body." She sighed, knowing she was talking in circles. "simply put, and as honest as I can say it, I hate him because he is a Phoenix, because I am a knight and at the time we were sworn enemies with all Phoenix. To give him any kind of leeway would have been weak and unfair of me, so i chose to hate him rather than let him just go about his life. It was...the only way I could come to terms to losing such a close friend." She spoke softly and truthfully, coming to terms with how she really felt. "The others I don't hate personally, just by association. I won't deny their power, and their ability to get a job done. They are a very fluid and dangerous unit, one that had the circumstances been different, I would be honored to join."

Wing shook his head as he watched Derek enter the ship. "Unfortunate, considering they were following the orders of a madman that would have just as easily killed them for acting humanly." He sighed, the wash of the ship passing over the group as it took of for the trial. "Though, Bella's right. There is no danger of the past repeating itself now." He looked at Aero and gestured to the Palace, "You should find Lauren, I'm sure there are things you must attend too." He smiled and started after Nulix and Bella, a hand on her shoulder. "I'm sorry this happened so soon after you were reunited. He may have not always been friendly towards us, and he has made his choices, but in the end, he is your brother and no matter how hard to try and hide it, it does pain you to see him taken away again."


Aero watched the UO walk away, confused at the sudden goodbye. She looked at the Palace rising in the distance and knew Wing was right, she would need to report her location, maybe find other UPA and link back up with them. "Maybe I'll meet this Titan and Ecko characters I kept hearing about." She muttered, walking down the streets that were clearing of people as shops started their routine of closing procedures.

Lauren held the blade in her hand. It was lighter than air, and felt comfortable in her hand. Not her usual choice, being a longsword, but she could respect the craftsmanship and she handed the blade back to Luke. "It is amazing, you've done a remarkable job on all of these blades. Who is it meant for?" She asked, picking up Glamdrel and placing it in a scabbard and slinging it over her shoulder. When she received her new armor, the blade would be worn on her hip, but for now she wouldn't be unarmed if something were to happen.
