a shy girl

0 · 233 views · located in Basement

a character in “The Unnatural Game: The Playtester”, as played by kellyhope_89

Description

Britt Sanders has long black silky hair. She has a odd but unique very pale face. She observes every single detail with her dark green eyes. She doesn't like being in the spotlight. She doesn't read much, but only really reads a book when its interesting. She has glasses but never wears them in public, instead wears contact lenses. She always wears her favorite jacket which is a little too big for her but loves its coziness. She is quite thin though, lots of people have questioned her about it but she eats a good amount of food everyday, maybe something just weird about her body. She loves orphan kids because she was one herself. She goes to the orphanage almost everyday. Her parents left her as a baby on top of a garbage dumpster in Tokyo, Japan. A woman had found Britt and taken her back to where the woman had come from in Thailand to take care of her. Ever since that day Britt has grown up independent but very loving towards people.

So begins...

Dexter yawned and looked at his watch. He was expecting another arrival soon, a young girl by the name of Britt Takayo. Dexter hummed quietly to himself as he pulled up two chairs into the middle of the well-lit basement, and arranged them on opposite sides of the cheap plastic table in the center. Sitting down in one of them, he propped his feet up on the table, and began to fiddle with one of the many rings circling his fingers.

I think this is the room... Britt looked at the wood door with an old rusty metal door nob. She reached out to the door nob but paused. Ok Britt, you got this. just one more appointment and then you are done She gripped the door nob anxiously. Turning the nob, she creaked the door open slowly. She popped her head in the room just to find a man sitting in the middle of the room. Ok ...calm down. its gonna be ok She swung the door open and stepped inside.

Dexter grinned broadly as the girl who must be Britt stepped into the room. He stood up and pushed back his chair, saying in a clear, friendly voice, "Hello, Miss Takayo. Welcome to the Basement. I'll be helping you figure out how all this roleplay stuff works. Today, we'll work on three basic actions: Socializing, Thinking, and Combat. It seems like you've already figured out how thinking works, so we'll skip ahead to Socializing."

Dexter beckoned Britt over to the empty chair. "Please have a seat!"

Britt nodded then started her way to the empty seat. She sat down and tugged at her sleeves making them cover her hand except for the tip of her fingers. "Um...It's nice to meet you..." she paused. Oh my gosh, what's his name??? I must have missed him saying it. Oh gosh this is awkward. Just say something! "um...Mr.?" she said quietly. What the heck was that?!? Britt's cheeks turned bright red.

Dexter sat down with Britt, folding his hands in front of him and crossing one of his legs over the other.
"Dexter. Dexter Montague, but Dexter is fine." He replied casually, noting her nervousness.
I'm not that intimidating, am I?
He smiled, hoping to diffuse the tension, and extended his hand across the table. "It's nice to meet you too, Miss Takayo."

Dexter grinned. "Socializing has already been accomplished, from the moment you walked in, Miss Takayo. You've proven that you didn't really need any help with talking to people, as long as you remember to keep your posts in the third person.
The only thing left at this point is combat. However, before we begin, I'd like to direct your attention to the right side of your screen. You'll notice that you forgot to to tag us in your last post, which is something we all have to do. Please remember to do that!"

Dexter raised his eyebrows and tapped his forehead, then pulled out a little phone from his pocket. His fingers flew deftly across the glass surface, making little tapping noises, and just as quickly as he had pulled it out, he slipped it back into his pocket.
"Right, on to combat!"
Dexter reached under his chair and pulled out a large serrated combat knife. Standing up and stepping away from the table, he gestured under Britt's chair. "There's one under yours, too. This is just gonna be a small session, won't last very long."

Britt was speechless. She moved her legs to the side of her chair. She slowly reached under her chair looking for the knife. She felt the rough surface of the tip of the knife. Taking it out, she stared at it. Please don't cut me Britt stood up pushing the chair back using her foot.
Ok, I'm not exactly really good at combat, well actually, never really done combat before, ever in my life.
Britt paused. She thought about just leaving. No! Just get it over with! Britt sighed, then spoke "Alright, I'm ready"

Dexter sighed happily and shrugged his shoulders, loosening himself up.
"Good job on the tagging. Let's make this quick. Try and barely block this attack, ok? Be sure to describe it well!"
He had barely finished speaking when he suddenly leapt toward Britt and brought his knife down towards her head in a downward slash.

Britt backed away as fast as she could but tripped over her chair. She crashed down on top of the chair hard, making a loud slapping noise echo in the room. "Uuuugggh," she grunted in pain. With all her might she rolled off of the chair and onto her back. The feeling of the cold floor felt nice on her back. She laid there on the ground, waiting for a aching pain in her knee. "Is my knee ok? I feel like its broken," she breathed out.

Dexter frowned and shook his head, laughing quietly.
"Miss Takayo, you were supposed to block the attack, not run away from it."
At her question, he gave her knee a once-over. "No, it's not broken. Just scraped. You're gonna have a bruise later...you really should be more careful, Miss Takayo."
He laughed again, out loud this time, and walked over to her. Getting down on one knee, he extended a pale, ringed hand to her.
"Here, let me help you up. I think I don't need tot each you combat anymore, since you seem to have a firm understanding of how you must take turns during combat, and also how to feel pain."
He gave her a wry smile.

Britt smiled and took his hand. With the help of Dexter, she pulled herself up. "Thank you Dexter" She smiled at him then bent over to check her knee. Hmm not as bad as I thought "So whats next?" she asked while brushing the dirt off her legs. She paused, she looked up at Dexter "Or is that all that I need to learn?"

Dexter wrinkled his nose.
"Other than remembering to end your sentences with periods, nothing." He sat back down in one of the chairs, propping his feet up on the plastic table.
"You look to me like you've pretty much got it down, Miss Takayo..." He grinned, and continued, "Which is exactly why I'm going to give you something. Now that you know the basics of text roleplaying, it's time for you to move on! How exciting is that?"
He dug into his pocket and pulled out a small black cylinder that fit in his palm. The cylinder had a cheap black rubber ergonomic grip on the outside, with a criss-crossing pattern etched into it. On one side of the device was a small red button, and on the other was a small black switch.
Dexter deftly flicked the switch, and held it out to his prodigy.
"Here. This is a single-use teleporter. Hold it firmly, and when you're ready, press the red button. I've plugged in coordinates to a place called Gambit's Bar , where a man named Vincent is waiting for you. Find him, and ah..."
Dexter chuckled.
"...Try not to get in trouble with him while you're there, alright?"
