"That...that would be welcome. I get to be back home, doing what I'm good at. Too many guns in Texas for me to ever get comfortable. Let's go..." Another nervous shudder. Kurt had had a very bad day.

A week had passed and with the assistance of Catherine and Molly close the school was running so smoothly that Jacob was able to actually take a day off. How better to spend the day off, then in an old garage tinkering under the hood of an MT Midget. "Wrench" he said expectantly extending his hand for the tool he wanted. Isis wrapped her tail around the tool and effortlessly raised it to be placed in Jacobs extended hand. As he took it he made a few rotations on a chronically loose bolt. "Mr. Summers?" a tentative voice spoke from behind him.

Jacob recognized the apprehensive tone of the rookie secretary. "Yes James?" He asked in a patient tone. He had long ago given up any hope of getting to keep days off as days off. "You said you wanted to know if there were any sightings of Mr. Gorvin." Jacob nodded softly. "Yes I want any sightings reported to me.. Has he been spotted?" James shifted his weight a little bit and gulped. "Yes sir...." He shifted uncomfortably. "Well where was he sited?" Jacob asked squinting a little at James' body posture. James was twitchy but this was uncharacteristic even for him. Suddenly a gravely voice came from just out of view to the right of James. "He's right here." Next thing you know James is kicked out of the way sending him sliding across the grass and coming to a stop against the deck leading to the house boat. Gorvin rounds the corner and levels his .38 special snub nosed detective pistol right on Jacob. "Given the things I've seen these last few days I'm not sure if shooting you will kill you or just piss you off, so no sudden movements and we won't have to find out."

Jacobs hands raised slowly to show he was unarmed, aside from the wrench. His right index finger pointed over at the shelf. "I'm going to move very slowly and put this wrench down on that shelf and then back away from it kay?" Gorvin gave a conformational up nod and just as he said he would Jacob slowly moved over to the shelf and set the wrench down then backed away to his original location. It wasn't that the pistol would cause lasting death, but it would hurt and besides what sort of example would he be setting about teaching to hide the supernatural if he him self exposed it doing something stupid. "Why are you looking for me?" Jacob was grateful he was able to think on his feet. "FBI came to the fort thinking you might have hid in one of the many hiding places the fort has. I told them to feel free to look around they did, they didn't find you, they said keep an eye out. Rumor has it you killed your wife and kid."

Gorvin shakily pushed the gun forward as though he was trying to further emphasize what he was saying. "DON'T SAY THAT! I Would never.... I didn't they were my world." Jacobs heart pained a little he knew he pushed to much with that. "You drink coffee Mr. Gorvin?" He pointed down at the thermos on the work table. "Because I'm going to have some. I don't think you killed them, and I'm not going to sit around waiting for you to get nervous and shoot me on accident." He walked over and poured two cups of the black brew before calmly extending one in offering to Gorvin. The man looked from the coffee to the pistol. "James go back to work. Forget you saw Mr. Gorvin with only enough exception as to make expressly certain we're not disturbed by any one. He walked in here a paying customer like every one else and that is precisely how he'll leave am I understood?" Gorvin sensing Jacob to be a man of his word pocketed the pistol and took the coffee. "You believe me?"

Sipping his coffee Jacob raised an eye brow at the question. "I know what I'm not willing to believe. I read the new reports. I'm willing to believe an accidental killing of your wife and daughter, but what was described was full of intent, and I genuinely don't believe that you have that capacity. I also don't believe you would have shot me unless I made a move, or if you accidently fired the gun from shaking so much. I've seen killers, I've broken bread with them back in London. One of them was a museum financier. So yes I know what they look like, and I can tell you that you aren't one. So what happened?" Gorvin shifted his weight a little and motioned to the car "Mind if I sit?" He asked and as Jacob shrugged the middle aged man slunk into the passenger seat of the car. "Not sure you'd believe me if I told you." He confessed. Jacob slipped into the drivers seat and Isis jumped into the back causing Gorvin to nearly jump out of his skin. "That cheetah is real?" Jacob chuckled and spoke in a clearly sarcastic tone. "Naw we just have a phenomenal anima electronics department." Then his tone got more candid and to the point. "And we've already established that I believe you didn't kill your wife and kid, fact is I don't think you're capable. Best case scenario you tell me, I believe you whole sale. Worst case scenario I don't, but you vent and you can go on your merry way feeling a little less heavy."

The entire fort and it's staff had been given a description of Gorvin with instructions to grab or send someone to get Catherine or Molly if he was spotted. However, they didn't expect the man to come to them; in fact they hadn't really expected to see the man at all. But, there he was plain as day wandering about the grounds, blending into the early summer crowds that had come to explore the fort and it's history. "Say was that?" One student asked another in slight confusion as the watched Gorvin wander past through the entrance. The other student just gave an equally confused shrug. "Hell if I know." He said as he turned back to taking tickets from the public.

Soon word spread throughout the staff and students at the fort that Gorvin had come in with the latest batch of people that afternoon. Eventually it reached Catherine were she was currently talking to a new group at the visitors center about women's roles locally during the war. Frowning, looked at the mildly bored and sweaty faces standing in front of her, "Please excuse me, there's a minor issue I need to help with. In the mean time please continue to look around our visitor's center." She said as she turned towards James. "Alright, slow down and tell me exactly what happened, then I need you to go find Bronson."

The young man went on to explain that Gorvin had slipped into the fort with the rest of the public that day and found his way across the largely empty parade grounds to Jacob's barge, where he had held the young immortal at gun point. "Thank you James, now go find Bronson, she'll be with the combat demonstration." Catherine explained as she took off towards the parade ground and Jacob's barge. They hadn't expected this, the man had been classified as non-violent.

Molly responded quickly, peeling away from the combat demonstration and heading to meet Catherine at in the parade ground, making it to her before the other got to the barge. Se gave the other a slightly violent seeming grin. "So, at gun point? Somehow, I don't think this man has ever dealt with a Summers of any sort before." They had a way with people. This was going to be very interesting. Molly rather was hoping for a fight.

Once this was taken care of they could get recertified and go home. She missed her own bed, even if it was currently surrounded by boxes. She hadn't really moved into her new house yet. Her things were all there, but most days she still ended up in someone's quarters at MCU or half asleep snuggling one of the twins. They made good stuffed animals.

"Wasn't he supposed to be non-violent, by the way?" It didn't matter. Molly, her instability keeping on the plane or not, was more than capable of handling one man with a gun. If she could stay on the plane. Right now, with her adrenaline high, she was sinking, periodically, into the ground as she walked.

Mean while in the garage just on shore from the barge Jacob sat there listening to Gorvin pour out what he had witnessed He frowned because the man had a knack for taking in almost nauseating amounts of detail. He'd probably make a good MCU agent. Right now Jacobs only focus was to make sure the man was able to leave when the conversation was over. "I'm not going to say I don't believe you. I mean sure demons might exist. I've seen enough weird shit around this fort to believe in something more then the norm. But.... maybe you shouldn't run around calling them demons... you know? To normal people it sounds... crazy. Guy runs around ranting about demons killing those closest to him, people think he's snapped and went homicidal in a psychological break or something." He refilled his coffee cup and offered to top Gorvin off. "But that's not what happened kid... I saw it with my own eyes. I wanted so badly to move to spring forward but something just I tried t move my legs but it was like I was trapped in cement." Jacob rested his hand on Gorvin's shoulder sympathetically. "You know why I live on a boat? Because people are horrible. Most try to do the right thing but at our core we're pound for pound some of the scariest life forms to walk the earth. I don't tell you this to discourage you. I tell you this so next time you find your self squared off against what ever did that to you.... you can draw strength from it. Fight through the cement, and turn that inner scary on the creature that took your loved ones from you."

Gorvin glanced at Jacob skeptically "Thanks for the insight kid but we both know I'm not going to get to leave this fort a free man. That secretary saw me pull a gun on you. Sorry about that by the way." Jacob blinked a little bit. He had no intention of detaining Gorvin his objective was to get him to not try to bring up the supernatural, if he could do that in a friendly way with out exposing him self then that was preferable. "You're going to have to eventually.. The fort closes at five. Listen like I said I fully intend for you to leave here exactly the same way you came a regular paying customer but you have been through a lot and while not to your particular circumstances I can relate to going through a lot. So if you ever need to swing by and talk or just do something productive to get your mind cleared there's always some project or another going on around here, or you know tons of grass to be cut."

"You know that's what I was told, but sometimes..." Catherine said her words trailing off. Hopefully they could detain him, finish the rest of their certifications and go home. Frankly she was tired of dealing with some patrons on the daily basis, and even more so with some of the students once the fort closed and the more serious classes resumed. "Look, I don't even know how or if they're related, I haven't had a chance to talk to Lex." She added shaking her head. Catherine knew Molly was spoiling for a good brawl, but more than likely wasn't going to get it. She'd just have to take out her aggression later on the recruits in hand to hand combat training.

"Sinking Bronson." Catherine pointed out as they neared the barge. So much for the other being able to regain any sort of control within the last week, but at least she wasn't phasing through random objects anymore. "If you want to go for a swim, keep it up." She muttered as they came into a small grove of trees where Jacob had moored his barge. "Mr. Summers?" Catherine called hoping this would make everything seem like a normal visit. But, sending a sergeant and warden to check on someone really wasn't.

Ah man, again? Molly paused a few feet from the grove and concentrated, forcing herself to keep to the one plane and to solid ground. At least Catherine had noticed. If they had to go on the barge for this, Molly would have for sure ended up in the water and that would have not been good. 'I fell in' wasn't really that great of an excuse after all. The woman, now solidly on the ground hurried to catch up and fell silent as they approached.

"Sorry." she muttered under her breathe, followed by an embarrassed "Thanks." Gorvin wasn't officially in the know yet. It was best to not spoil it. Plus, she would never hear the end of it from Catherine, and may end up having to go through the entire training experience, if she didn't find a better measure of control sometime soon. The exercises were helping, but they clearly weren't fool proof just yet.

"No answer." Catherine said, not without mild concern. From what she had been told, the man had barged into Jacob's garage with a gun or rather hijacked the secretary to do so; at gun point of all things. She really wondered if they needed to reevaluate just how violent the man actually was. In her opinion Jacob was still very wet behind the ears and would eventually be taken advantage of by someone sooner or later. "Cautious approach alright?" She told Molly, hoping that the other wouldn't sink into the soft ground near the river again.

While Jacob didn't want the unseen revealed to Gorvin, there were instances where it was too late and other tools would need to be used in the situation at hand. Walking through the grove and into the garage, Catherine looked around for Jacob and Gorvin. "Summers?" She asked again as her eyes adjusted to the dim light inside the garage.

"Should be." Molly agreed and continued on, sticking close to Catherine. She paused before entirely the garage and sought out the auras. 'Summers and an unknown in the garage itself.' She warned her partner for this. The woman followed her boss inside, staying loose and ready for a fight. Assuming she didn't sink into anything. She was at least part of her attention on that. Molly was not going to end up soaked just because her control was shot.

She just needed more practice. The totem hadn't been destroyed for long. It made sense she was still struggling. The woman managed a smile, to try and keep the situation as diffused as possible. The last thing she actually did need when she was struggling to stay on one plane at a time was to get into a fight. It would be embarrassing as hell if she disappeared for who knew how long because she was having accidents like a brand new planeswalker.

Jacob glanced up from the drivers seat towards the door. "Catherine... Molly. How's it going guys... Mr. Gorvin these are my associates." mean while he was thinking to him self. ~James is so fucking toast.~ Gorvin glanced up and gave a nod. "Ladies it's a pleasure to meet you." Isis at this point proceeded to groom the back of Gorvin's head. "GAH!" Gorvin panicked mildly flailing his arms about. "Relax she only does that to people she likes." For once he repressed the urge to be a smart ass and chime in 'to eat' at the end.

Catherine just raised an eyebrow as she caught Jacob's thought, it appeared that he hadn't much experience with the unseen outside of what Isis and Aceline had provided him with; a very narrow sampling of what was out there. "Quite well Mr. Summers." She said as she approached the pair seated in the small car. "But, it's a pleasure to meet you Mr. Gorvin." Catherine replied politely, offering the man a mild yet harmless smile. "How are you?" She asked eyeing Isis on her perch on the back the passenger side seat.

"Someone needs a crash course in emergencies I think.." She directed at Molly without much amusement. However it was a brief break from the chaos of the Fort and the steady stream of customers.

"Probably." Molly agreed and watched the scene with a smile. Carefully, she approached and reached out so she could pet the Isis. Animals, even if they were actually a goddess, were so much better than people. "Here Mr. Gorvin. Let me take care of the cheetah." She said and began to pet Isis, scratching behind her ear. This wouldn't be violent at all, by the looks of things. He may have a gun, but it seemed more like he wasn't about to shoot them than that he was.

"Come on Isis. Let's let Mr. Gorvin alone." She spoke gently, the suggestion clear. If they could get her a bit clear in case it went wrong, it gave Catherine and Molly room to work. And while Isis could no doubt all too easily handle the trouble Gorvin brought with him, she shouldn't have to, when there were two MCU agents standing right there.

Besides, this way Molly got to pet the cheetah.

**Isis** Let out a pained mew as she was absconded from Mr. Gorvin. That human had a pained but otherwise genuinely good aura and she liked him. But Molly was allowed to take the small cheetah from the human who was getting a grooming and Isis nuzzled into the Sergeants shoulder. She turned into a purring machine as Molly pet her. She didn't mind the agents just appearing out of the blue to help protect her human... but at the same time... Jacob was *her* human, and these two would just eventually have to get on board with that.

**Gorvin** Looking to the two women, the cheetah and then back to Jacob Gorvin became suddenly nervous. The calm raising of Jacobs flat palm was a clear indication that every one should relax. So Gorvin did. "It's very nice to meet you ladies I was just talking with Jacob about some family stuff. If he's needed back up at the main complex I have no problem relinquishing him to his duties." He smiled genuinely hoping that it would be the end of it. He had one friend in the city some one he could confide in and that was comforting enough for him to cool things down a little.

**Jacob** Chuckled lightly at Isis's antics as she was pried away from licking the back of Gorvin's head "Yeah I'm afraid god sir that as the director of a historical facilities, a day off is really more like an unpaid day to do secondary less important projects with long break periods. As it is I have to mow the grass around the parking lots." The sad part was Jacob wasn't lying he really did have to mow the fields he spoke of. The facility was so underfunded that they didn't have the money for grounds keeping staff.

Mostly ignoring Isis's pained and annoyed meow, Catherine leaned against the right front fender of the car. Molly could take care of the cat, she could more than likely persuade Gorvin to spill the beans all over again if she had to. All she needed was enough time with the guy and he wouldn't remember anything else. However, such tactics were generally frowned upon by the Council.

"Family? Really? That's interesting." She observed. "Researching or just enjoying a day out Mr. Gorvin?" She added keeping her tone neutral. There was more to this than a random meeting to talk about family things, he had deliberately sought out Jacob hoping that he might get somewhere. "Pardon my asking, but weren't you the man that every paper in Detroit is talking about?" Catherine asked plainly.

Molly pet Isis gently and stepped away, setting her down away from the potential fight and bending down to pet and speak to her quietly, so no normal human would be able to hear. "I know you could handle it all on our own." She admitted, quietly. "And you certainly don't need our help, but your acting may be overkill." She admitted, scratching behind Isis' ear. "Let us handle him, please." They were pretty good at relatively peaceful take downs. She smiled to Isis, and then stood. Hopefully, the goddess would listen. If not, hopefully she wouldn't be offended at least.

The woman smiled. "You know, most people probably know him more from TV than the papers." Catherine was so old fashioned that it bore teasing. Who even read newspapers anymore? Molly got all her news online. This was certainly a positive ID at least. "You certainly don't look like a man who'd do what they claimed." She informed Gorvin. "I kind of want to hear your side of the story."

"Who said anything about dragging the poor guy's name through the mud?" Catherine questioned innocently as she looked over at where Molly was busy petting Isis. "Me personally I'm just curious but I suppose it'll have to wait." She said waving a hand in the air dismissively as Jacob grew more irritated by the minute. In many ways it was almost like prodding Alexander, but not exactly; it struck her as strange.

"Thieves really? Well I guess I'll have to lock things up tonight then, won't I?" She said to no one in particular. "Oh you might want to head back soon Mr. Gorvin, I hear we're having an ice cream social this afternoon and things always go quick." Catherine added seeing how the man was somewhat eager to leave. She could see he was trying not to say what he really thought happened, especially with Jacob still standing there.

Thieves. He was going to go with thieves. Seriously? That was just weak. Molly rolled her eyes and glanced to Catherine. Were they letting him go? They were letting him go. Great. She glanced to Jacob, then admired the car he was restoring. it looked very car like. Molly knew nothing about cars. Unable to resist, she cheerfully broadcast a though to Catherine. 'Are we letting him go? Also, I bet Jacob here would probably not be too happy if we got into a fight right next to the car.'

They should do just that, largely because Molly was feeling contrary right now. It would also be some modicum of fun to see his reaction, though she had the feeling she wasn't going to be able to maintain the whole staying in one plane during a fight thing. They always excited her enough that her control wasn't all that grand during them.

Days passed, then weeks, and not much came from the grieving husband and father turned demon hunter. Jacob was grateful that diplomacy had seemed to win the day. Now he had another worry, one of the council members was coming to Detroit to see how the Council's initial investment of additional personnel and money was paying off. In Jacobs opinion it was, but he'd also heard about how notoriously fickle the Council could be. He'd heard the rumors that some times they even put up insurmountable bureaucratic hurdles just to screw with people.

Watching her human act in such a stressed out way, it was only natural that Isis became worried. A soft mew escaped and gently the small cheetah brushed up against his legs, as she snaked her way expertly in and out through them in a figure 8 as he walked. It was only a matter of time before the predictable thing happened; Jacob face planted into the carpet as he tripped over 80 pounds of domesticated exotic cat-goddess. "Sorry love are you alright?" She asked sweetly, offering him a slow, sedate, blink. Jacob could only respond with a tender, understanding smile and reached back to ruffle her fur fondly.

Meanwhile, the train ride from Chicago to Detroit was long, grueling and by all accounts an official 'non starter' for Alexander. He was largely coming to Detroit to personally investigate and finally get to the bottom of whoever his creepy little doppelganger was. The taxi cab driver spewed something in Iranian at him, and it wasn't exactly something one would utter in the company of some one who could understand it. And while he had said it in a pleasant tone to hide the true intent of it, it still wasn't polite at best. Alexander's Iranian was a little rusty, but he managed to say in a mutually pleasant tone just to let the guy know he understood him. "... and may the sun, and Allah's praise fall eternally upon you." The instantaneously nervous look and the fact that suddenly a 5 dollar tip was sufficient, was a song to Alexander's dark and twisted heart as he walked towards the main gate with his suite cases.

Once again things were on hold while they waited to see what exactly the Council would have to say about their little situation with their newly self proclaimed demon hunter. Sighing, Catherine assumed that she would more than likely be in it for the long run, and as usual stuck someplace until Council decided she and her team could return home. "Days like today I really hate my job." She muttered under her breath, steeling herself to walk into a classroom yet again to begin another lesson on the laws that governed the Unseen and how it may or may not apply to each Court; be it fae or vampire. "At least we aren't being shot at, or I have Bronson trying to bash my brains out on the pavement.." She thought ruefully. Things with Molly hadn't bern lacking in animosity or stress, especially with the others more than reprehensible behavior in the last few weeks.

Thankfully though, she didn't have to see much of Molly, and Molly didn't have to see much of her for now. The Sargent seemed perfectly happy in her role as a new recruit as far as Catherine could tell, and it seemed to be filling in some holes the other had she suspected. Then again, it seemed that the Laws and curriculum associated with teaching them changed on the not so infrequent basis.

Entering the large room turned classroom, she waited for the noise to die down and the cadets to settle. "Everything off the desks today ladies and gentlemen. It's time for a pop quiz, all of you should be familiar with this idea by now I would hope." Catherine informed the class. They were going to learn this stuff one way or another, and she'd be damned if any of the ones who spent a large amount of time spewing hot air and their own opinions graduated. "Up until now we have been throughly studying cases, courts, and how the laws apply. Your role as an agent will be to know how this applies to any given assignment. So, name me two key figures of the Council and which laws allow for arrest or detainement in cases of magical artifice."

Jacob had not informed them that they would be having a visitor, or that things needed to proceed in any fashion other than normal.

Molly was pretty good at faking happiness as a new recruit. She had hoped that temporary meant just until the loon was caught, but it sure as hell didn't seem like it, and she was kind of tired of pretending to be actually 22. If nothing else, the constant pretending had done wonders for her control. The only good thing here was that sometimes she got to pet and cuddle Isis. Otherwise, she had been sneaking out during their free hours, when she couldn't take the act, and going places, she knew better than to go, places even Karato had warned her off of. There were other demons out there, after all. And it was pretty clear she wasn't quite human, not anymore, no matter how good she could fake it.

At least she only saw Catherine when the other was an instructor. It meant that the other didn't get a chance read her frustration nearly as much as she could have. The amulet the demon hunter kept on her, pressed to her skin and hidden out of sight between her breasts meant that her shields held up strong and were very supplemented. She had been working on building her own again, but learning the shield your mind, and rebuilding destroyed shields took a lot of time.

Still, the pop quiz was incredibly easy. Molly jotted down the names and the laws, turned her paper over, and sighed, looking up to the ceiling and wondering why she stuck with MCU. There had to be other ways of having friends who understood the lack of aging thing.
