Personality

Political beliefs/affiliations: After being bogged down by tons of political "know-it-alls" at Harvard she avoids anything political almost entirely.

Personal qualities (imagination, taste, etc.): Ambra is a fashionable well dressed girl with a love for a good old fashioned Gin and Tonic. She has an uncanny ability to read other people and relate to them so that they often feel like they have known her for years when really they may only know her name and that she works at Damians. She lives in a shabby apartment and maintains only the basic necessities for survival in her one bedroom location. Her only true splurge is the two nice cars her dad bought her--one as a birthday gift when she turned 21 and was no longer "his problem" and one he gave her money to purchase as a present for college graduation. Her ability to read others extends not only to humans but also to animals and she feels an odd elemental connection to the world around her.

Ambitions: Right now she just wants to find understanding for her living nightmare. Her studies had led her to follow a mysterious man on the campus of her college, and she had made up a mental story of his background--come to find out he had known she was following him all along and one day gave her a real story for his behavior--and a transition to a new lifestyle which she was still in denial of. Having run to New York city her current desire is to be able to do anything or even function during daylight hours, gain control of her urges, or maybe even just rid herself of this "sickness" as she has come to mentally refer to it as.

Fears/anxieties/hangups: She fears what she knows she has become. She fears never relating to anyone again and the growing isolation she feels from those around her. Her other anxiety is fueled by her denial of what she has become--she often denies herself the chance to feed until her thirst gets the better of her and more than one patron of Damian's or late night stroller through Central Park has gone missing in the last year. Usually two or three within a day or two of each other.

Intelligence: Extremely intelligent--able to pick up and read social situations almost instantly--spent most of her high school years locked up studying and it paid off allowing her to easily attend and graduate from Harvard only a short time before all of that intelligence seemed to no longer matter.Attitude toward life: She always believed that life should be lived to the fullest and full of laughter. Now she just wants life to make sense.

Attitude toward death: She currently entertains the thought of death--but in the end she knows that despite life not being optimal at the moment, she enjoys experiencing the world and knows that death will come when the time is right. She does not fear it but does not seek it.

Sense of humor: At one time she had been full of laughter, jokes, and wise cracks. Now her humor when it came out was only in hopes of earning a tip or some sarcastic crack to the other workers at Damian's.

Philosophy of life (in a phrase):Life is a compromise of what your ego wants to do, what experience tells you to do, and what your nerves let you do.

Equipment

Clothing: When she has a night off she likes to dress up in dresses and heels to go out to one of the other establishments owned by Damian or relax in an array of t-shirts and jeans with her favorite pair of sneakers that are nearing the need for retirement. Her work outfit consists of tight denim and skimpy tank tops or occasionally a short black skirt and red low cut tank top --always with simple black heels.

History

Friends: Her only friends in the city are those whom she works with and the older woman who lives next door to her in her apartment complex. She is not shy or socially inept, she just is mistrusting and a bit slow to form meaningful relationships with much of anyone.

Education: At 22 she graduated with her bachelors from Harvard so she doesn't lack in the intelligence department. However, she blames her concentration in mythology and folklore for getting her into her current situation and has used her degree very little since graduation.

Occupation/employer: Currently she works for a medium sized but well known bar/exotic dancer lounge named Damian's in down town New York City. She is a bartender at the location six nights a week. She has never dared to join the slightly higher earning ranks of the dancers, and prefers her station behind the bar where she can mingle with customers, mix drinks, and save away tips.

Community status: While her father is well known on wall street and in the world of corporations she has managed to fly below the radar and remains just a local face in her neighborhood. Every now and then she runs into someone who picks up on her name but she just brushes it off and moves on.

Job-related skills: She possesses a personality that naturally draws people to her. The owner of the bar picked up on this right away and was more than happy to put her behind the counter. She quickly has learned the name and mixology of any drink/liquor a man or woman could want. A strong memory and good people skills keep her afloat in the often busy and chaotic New York night life.

Most painful setback/disappointment: Having her mother die and brother leave her life was difficult. She made up for it by immersing herself further into her studies. However, now her biggest setback is not being able to cope with the reality that lies ahead of her even though it may not be as horrible as she creates it to be.

Most instructive/meaningful experience: One of her most meaningful experiences was when Damian and his wife Olivia found her in the shadow of a dumpster one night, brought her to the bar, fed her, and offered her a job on the spot from pure instinct. The fact that at least two people saw some good in her, at at time where she felt her worst gave her reason to continue on in hopes of finding a cure for what she felt was surely insanity.
