The Valhalla

The Valhalla

A massive, prototype spaceship is sent to eliminate rebels holding Pluto. Upon leaving Earth, however, the ship is suddenly sucked into a wormhole, which closes behind them.

379 readers have visited The Valhalla since The Soul one created it.

Humans have achieved great things over the years, despite our many disputes and fights.
In 2034, a practical space propulsion engine was created, allowing colonies on the moon to flourish.
In 2036, improved genetics prevented 99% of all illnesses with no ill effects. In the same year, project Genesis succeeded in creating a breathable atmosphere on one of Jupiter's moons, Ganymede, also with no ill effects.
In 2050, replication technology entered testing phases, led by TITAN industries, a manufacturing company that was starting to spread to all aspects of society.
In 2054, the nations of Earth unite under the name of Terra, making the USC (United Space Core) as their military force. Near the end of the year, space battleships with three classes, colossi, frigate, and fighter, begin to be mass produced.
In 2059, Neptune is colonized not as a nation of Terra, but as the Tradesman's Association. It is seen as a rebellion by Terra, and the USC is mobilized.
In 2060, conflict. the Tradesman's Association's planetary cannons were obliterated by spacial bombardment. Survivors swear to overthrow the tyrannical Terra, and are henceforth named The Association. The Association disperse into Terran owned planets, attempting to increase their number with little success.
In 2067, a massive battleship called Neon began to be constructed.
In 2069, attempts to sabotage the massive battleship, lead by The Association, failed, and progress continued.
In 2070, at the end of the decade, construction was completed.
In 2071, The Association seized control of Pluto, and started construction of their own fleet. The Neon, supplied with the latest in weapons and fighter-craft, was sent to annihilate them.
In 2072, the Neon entered Associate space and was hit repeatedly with fighter squadrons. The fighters were too small for the Neon's primary cannons, which had to resort to using blaster turrets and fighters to fight off their assailants. When within planetary bombardment range, the Neon was powering its guns to destroy the enemy bases when the Associates suddenly launched a final assault, using stolen frigates and a massive amount of fighters. The numbers were just to great against the Neon, and was destroyed. The ship now orbits Pluto. During the Neon's long trek, TITAN was working on two more Oni class battleships, specializing them toward medium ship combat (Frigates) and smaller ships (fighters). The anti-medium ship was dubbed Angel Of Darkness and the anti-fighter ship the Valhalla. The Valhalla was finished first, and, in 2075 was sent on its way to crush the rebel forces. On the way, a wormhole opens, and sucks the Valhalla in. This is where the Odyssey, your Odyssey, begins...

The Vahalla is a heavily armed warship designed to take out massive amounts of small fighters. It can take quite a beating, and has the following features:
Decks: 250
Deck size: 7535-1789 ft.
The top deck holds the bridge, captain’s quarters, and his immediate staff.
Every thirtieth deck holds a fusion reactor, which powers the ship.
Every tenth floor has a fully stocked armory and an engine room, which is positioned on the back of the ship. The ship has three prototype subspace engines, positioned on decks twenty, one hundred twenty, and two hundred forty. The remaining engines are simple propulsion engines.
Every sixth floor is a research bay. Research bays were first implemented on this ship. They were designed to allow a researcher perform any experiment within fully protected laboratory conditions. Each one is led by a head researcher, who generally chooses what research they will be performing.
Every fifth floor is a fighter bay that holds several fighter squadrons. Each one also contains a missile bay containing several thousand HELfire Missiles (Heavy Engine Lock) and ten-thousand blaster turrets, which are rather low powered and inaccurate, but have a low power cost and are semi-effective against all ships when within range, and an overshield bay that allows for a super charged shield to become active for a few seconds. During which, energy damage (heat, plasma, etc.) will do no damage against. This means that an overshield can withstand the heat of the sun directly next to it for the duration of its use. The drawback is that it is immensely weak against projectiles, which can destroy the whole shield with something as weak as a simple handgun, and the fact that it can only be used for several seconds before stopping to recharge, which takes several minutes.
Every second floor holds a shield generator. Gains more strength the more shields are active.
Every deck holds medical, housing, and recreation rooms, including sports rooms, cafeterias, shops, viewing platforms, and playgrounds. Each deck also holds seven hundred blaster turrets.
On deck 71 lies the AI circuitry. Nothing except heavy armor surrounds it, along with several shield generators and it’s own overshield generator. The lab right under it specializes in genetic mutation, which prompts rumors to start that they hide mutants on that floor to keep people out.
On deck’s 3, 139, and 245 are laser cannons. They are too large to use against fighter’s properly, but are good against frigates. Too small to be used properly against larger craft.
Description: One of the largest craft made thus far, only trumped by the Neon and the Angel Of Darkness, although only just. Made specifically to handle fighter craft, the Valhalla is also the first ship made with its own advanced A.I. system, a luxury and a tactical advantage that most other ships just don’t have.

The characters you shall play will be special. Prodigies and veterans, they're the best of the best, and maybe a little extra. A few roles are necessary, but feel free to make something not pertaining to them.

Captain Of The Valhalla:
The Captain of the ship. Needs a little information on ship combat, which I will PM when a Captain is chosen. Open

The ship is equipped with a state of the art A.I. system. The AI is essentially the ship itself, controlling all of the automatic systems. I shall be in control of this role, as it allows me to control the story more directly and things like damage reports and sensor scans will take place much more smoothly.

Company Commander:
The leader of a force of 250 soldiers. I'll let the player come up with a name for the company. A certain amount of combat tactics is required.

Company Sargent:
A Sargent in the company of the above player. This player will be on the front lines of the fighting, so be this player will have to be pretty brutal, or at least very skilled. This player will also have to be pretty descriptive, as he/she'll have front row seats to any devastation that occurs.

The Valhalla

I am currently writing a book on this. I have already established the characters, I'm just simply looking for other people's input on what exactly to do with continuing the story. As I intend to publish this book eventually, and maybe make a little bit of money off of it, I wish to avoid plagiarism and say that if anyone wishes that it be known of their contribution I shall include it in the book itself.
