☩Full Description☩
If there is one thing that Thea acquired from her father's line, it was - not just his skill with stick-fighting - but his physical attributes. While she seems to war with her mother in regards to her seemingly petite stature, Thea's red hair is definitely telling and along with her expressive and full eyebrows, she is a sight for sore eyes - even if she doesn't believe so. Her eyes - her mother's favorite - are a hazel color, which is the safest description. While brown could be noted in them from afar, if she were to catch the wayward beam of the sunlight or stand close, one would notice the swirls of green that threaten to take over.

Young & Powerful

☩Skills☩
Martial Artist ~ While most would be deceived by her petite stature and her seemingly shy self would never admit to being a fighter, the Thea has proven to be a formidable opponent when it comes to knives, especially with her pair of sais. While she is skilled with sais, her first love in weaponry will always be sais. They are light and she is allowed to be quick with them, which is another attribute from her having such a tiny stature. Because of constant bullies as a child, her mother asked the same man that was giving lessons to her older cousin to give Thea lessons. With him, she flourished and sais became her weapons of choice. She is decent with archery.
Parkour ~ It was something she picked up back home. Always on the run with her cousins (the children of one family member that refused to shun her), she became adept at running and jumping over objects and even going far enough to scale buildings, though she is not the best at it.
Multilingualism ~ Thea speaks Romany, Latin (even though it's a dead language), and French.
First Aid ~ A skill acquired from a childhood filled with clumsiness and getting into trouble, Thea is probably known amongst the students for treating people - even if they have ever treated her badly. While they could probably just go to a nurse or doctor in the school, Thea keeps her own version of a First Aid kit in the room and she knows her way around herbs.
Art ~ If Thea were to live a normal and mundane life, she would probably go into art curating. She has always loved art and enjoyed attempting to re-create images. She has been sketching since she was three. She has a great eye for detail and while she is still learning, she can pull of a pretty decent forgery if she put her mind to it. However, she is more prone to simple sketches during class or on her free time.

☩Strengths☩
Her Patience
Her Compassion
Her Knowledge In Herbology

☩Weaknesses☩
Her Ability To Downplay Her Abilities
Her Insecurities
Her Mother

☩Personality☩
{Self-Deprecating, Selfless, Compassionate, Sensitive, Sassy}
Most know her as that the quiet child in the classroom; the one who hardly says a word because she knows better. Thea knows that her mother's past, which has haunted the both of them for the rest of their lives, is a permanent stain. Even if she breathes (seemingly, in the wrong way), one of the Morirs, or even a Dhampir, will make a mockery out of her. Not everyone is so cruel, but the young girl who would have been more lively if she had a normal childhood is far too gentle to even push her chances. She is more than happy to stay in the background.

If she's in the background, it is far less likely that her feelings or herself would get hurt. While a skilled fighter, she is not the best. Therefore, Thea knows her limits. She learned that all too well when she nearly was jumped during her first year at the Academy. If not for the Dhampir sisters she befriended, God knows what would have happened to her by now. Despite any of her skills, Thea will always see herself as weak. More than likely, she considers herself worthless. One of the worst attributes of her character is that she has the nasty habit of downplaying her beauty, wits, and abilities. It is better this way, she would argue. Safer. If even she believes that she is not good enough, then people would leave her alone. She would be worthless. And while she hates this mind-set, it has kept her safe.

Getting too close to too many people gives them more opportunity to hurt her and Thea is too prone to getting her feelings involved. One comment can have her ready to hide away in a bathroom or her dorm. However, with all of that on her plate, she still manages to care to her chagrin. Even those for those that wishes bad on her, she wishes nothing but good. Her older male cousin, Jace, joked that she cared too much. Maybe she does. But her mother taught her to feel for the darkest of people, even if they don't deserve it. So, she does. She puts her own pain and issues on the backburner, giving all of her attention and (sometimes) affection wholly to another person. It is because of this ability to care and a fierce desire to protect that she has the makings of a guardian.

The one part of her personality that surprises anyone is her occasional brazen attitude. Though known for her aforementioned quiet and near meek persona, those who put bigotry behind them or even cared to get to know her find someone who can speak her mind when comfortable. Even in those moments where she is feeling cornered or close to emotional, Thea speaks out. It can almost be seen as a defense mechanism and for her friends, it is usually seen as adorable. The normally sweet girl can turn quite impish if she's comfortable enough or needs to be. But hardly anyone sees this side of her. It's too dangerous. And all Thea has ever wanted is to be safe.

How She Came To Be

Image
☩History☩
Althea Grace's life has been pretty sad.

That would probably be the best sentence to use if you wanted to sum up her past using as few words as possible. However, the longer story begins when her mother, Kalare, first began her little affair with a Moroi, a very rich man. His father had been influential and they were staying in Guildford to get away from the constant pandering of the upper class society for a summer. It was a small fling, nothing short of sweet kisses and lingering touches that would be over once the first sign of autumn hit. But Kalare gave him blood after the third time of making love and although he swore he loved he, her lover was gone two weeks later and Kalare was left pregnant.

It was a disgrace in their small neighborhood in Guildford. Secrets spread quickly in small towns and the term "Blood Whore" was thrown at the once beloved Guildford girl. Her own father disowned her publicly and refused to deal with her. With no money and no home, Kalare retreated to a cottage her sister offered. It was quaint and had a nice scenery. Kalare had always wanted a quiet simple life and to just paint in silence. With her sister and the other woman's two children as the only family she would ever have, Kalare brought her baby Althea into the world.

Thea was a tiny baby from the start. The only midwife that offered to help feared that the baby wouldn't make it, but Thea made it through. Sometime in between Thea's birth and the child turning one, Kalare stopped caring about the townspeople and did constant strolls through the neighborhood. At the end of the day, she did what she did. If they were going to hold it against her, fine. But she was not going to be forced to stay on the outskirts of town in shame. No, she had a beautiful baby and if people talked, so be it. And talked they did, so much so that it was all Thea ever heard growing up. Even the children around her began calling her the "Blood Whore's Child.

A good portion of Thea's childhood, when she was not secure behind the steel walls of her cousins, was spent with constant bullying. If she was ever found alone, she would be subjected to constant bigotry and harsh words. She was even beat up at one point. It became so bad that her mother came and punched a woman for joining in on pushing her child. After that last incident, Thea was never allowed alone and was given fighting lessons. Kalare would never be able to protect her - not for the rest of her life. So, Thea was trained.

After a few years, Thea received a letter from St. Vladimir's. Apparently, her trainer was actually a retired teacher from the academy and he recommended her, sending in an application without telling either child or mother. For Kalare, it meant a chance for her child to gain recognition - a chance to grow into her abilities and her love for nature and the arts. For Thea, it was hell. Attending the school meant leaving behind the safety of her family. It meant new people. Dealing with the townsfolk was one thing. New people, especially at a skill that trained fighters, meant worse conditions. She never even told her mother about getting beaten up that first year.

In order to not come home with too broken a spirit for her mother to see, Thea threw herself into training herself. She became an adept fighter and buried herself into studying, even studying material that wasn't going to be covered for weeks. It was how she became so skilled with medicinal herbs and first aid. While she follows close to the two Dhampir sisters now and she might even have a few people who aren't cruel when they acknowledge her presence, the underlying judgment and hatred is still there - even in her third year. She can only hope that things can get better from here.

So begins...

New school years don't exactly go well with Zathina, she hates all the boring classes the Academy forces her to take, and all the new freshman. It's not really the freshman that get to her, it's what the freshman catch on at the school. Honestly, if they didn't believe every fucking rumor they heard, she'd be fine with them. Though that wasn't how it worked, school is never fair, and the people in school are far worse.
Think of it as this, Zathina's life- as well as everyone around her- would be simple and stress free if everyone trusted and got along with each other, unfortunately that's never how school works, or how the world works for that matter.
Zathina peeked through one eye, looking at her alarm clock as she lay flat on her bed. 6:59pm is what it read, which meant in one minute it would go off. She closed her eyes and desired that one minute. When it went off she heard her sister rustle in her bed, Zathina then pushed her self up from the bed and turned the alarm off. She walked over to her sister's bed and poked her neck. “Get upppp... Get upppppp. Time to get ready for Vampire Academy.” She said laughing mentally to herself, she was making fun of St. Vladimir's by saying it was a school full of vampires, then again it kind of was... Just depends on what your definition of a vampire is.
Zathina went to pick out her outfit for the day, which was what everyone else had to wear. For girls it was either a black skirt or black pants, a white or black shirt and the normal St. Vladimir's jacket, that was all black with the school crest on the chest and the color red down the front where the buttons were. Zathina didn't really mind the school uniform, mainly because she looked fine in it. Her body curved perfectly in the uniform, where as when she was in middle school it looked like shit.
Zathina was the first to be in the bathroom she shared with her sister, she did what normal girls do in the morning: pee, brush their hair and teeth, throw some make up on and call it good. Well, most girls who don't really give a shit what they look like, there are those few girls who spend hours in the bathroom, sorry to say, but she was not one of them.
When she exited the bathroom her little sister was already up and dressed. Zathina was a little surprised she nodded as she spoke to her sister. “That was fast, is someone excited to go back to school? What did you not enjoy your iphone 5 and facebook? Because I sure as hell did.” She told her sister before smiling and walking back to her bed, she stood there staring at the tangled up blankets and sheets, deciding on whether she wanted to make her bed or not, being neat wasn't exactly an everyday thing for her. Why? Oh well, because she's lazy. She shrugged at her bed and put on the St. Vladimir's jacket, pulling her long brown hair out from the back before trying to button it. She would need to get a new one soon, this one made it look as if her huge boobs were going to pop right out the front. Hopefully they wouldn't, she had a pretty tight white tank top on. She looked at herself in her sister's full body mirrior and fingered her hair, her hair was naturally wavy, and when it was like that it appeared to be light brown, however when it was curled to perfection (Something she allowed Rose to do every once in a while) all of her highlights were hidden in the curls so her hair appeared dark brown. She honestly thought it was pretty impressive. She had no idea her highlights could be hidden.
She smiled to herself as she sat back on the bed and waited for her sister to get ready, she turned her head to the clock and frowned. 7:15pm, She could have slept longer...

Katarina was still getting used to this whole new sleep schedule that the moroi and dhampirs had. School was from 8pm-4:30am. She wondered how they could do it, then again they weren't human like her. Being an alchemist was something that has been passed down in her family, so being around these fanged creatures wasn't new to her, however this was the first year she was assigned to protect the royals at school. Their had been a bunch of rumors that the Strigoi were moving clans closer and closer to the school every weekend. She was expecting something big to go down, and would honestly be disappointed if something didn't happen.
Katarina woke up to her alarm clock with a minor headache, she peered over at the still asleep Wren, the two were the only ones at the school at the moment, the others were back in a small human town not too fair from the academy. That's where one of the Alchemists stations were located. Wren was a little bit more luckier then Katarina. She didn't have to get up whenever Katarina did, she got to sleep as late as she wanted, unless she was given an assignment. So to be honest, Katarina didn't know if Wren had to get up or not.
Katarina had a enough time to take a bath and relax before a long night of babysitting. She enjoyed every second of her bath, letting her muscles relax as she unwind from the horrible weekend she had trying to prepare for the school year.
