"Knowledge is power, and that makes me the most powerful one of all"

a character in “The Variant Code”, as played by ImperatorAlpha

Dorien Thorne
Pyschometry: Dorien possesses the ability to tell what happened to something or someone by touching it/them. For example, by touching a murder weapon he knows who last used it. This goes for anything he touches. As such, he is the perfect information gatherer, for nothing can hold secrets from him. If he touches a person, he knows everything they have done. Seeing as he also has photogenic memory, he is an invaluable asset to the Agency.
Dorien's weakness is that he is not very physically robust. He is rather thin, and not used to pain. He lacks endurance.
He is a tall fellow, standing at 6'2" but extremely thin. He weighs about one hundred and fifty pounds. His hair is cut short, and he is cleanshaven. His eyes are a muddy brown, and are constantly moving around, scanning everything. He is almost always wearing a pair of black leather gloves, for he hates touching things. His face is gaunt, with the cheeks sunk in. Image
Personality and alignment:
Dorien is a rather sarcastic fellow, with an acid tongue. He hates his job, his power, and hides behind savage wit. But if one gets past that it turns out he's a rather lonely soul. No one but a fellow Thorne understands his plight, and thus he keeps his barriers up around everyone else, only showing who he really is to his fellows. His alignment is chaotic neutral.
Dorien serves the Agency as a gatherer, one of the special Variants whose job entails gathering information and relaying it to hunters. Where scouts figure out who is where, gatherers figure out what the Variants can do. He is also part of the Thorne program, the Agency's special Variant program which provides the Hunters and
Dorian was born to a surrogate impregnated with a specially prepared embryo created by the genius Dr.Thorne (Recently deceased) to serve the Agency. His power was pre-determined, and as such he always knew of it. From the age of 0-6 he was raised by the Doctor, learning and having a decent early childhood. Then, on his 7th birthday, his training began. From 7 to 14 he trained, learning about various subjects and how to use his power and relay information to others, learning how to take apart and put together radios, telephones, and other communications devices, as well as to spot various irregularities in his environment. At the age of 14 he began his field training, working with agents in the field. He became a fully rated Gatherer on his 18th birthday and thus began travelling, assisting in the capture of variants. This continued for years, until his new assignment to the hunter Everette Thorne, the last member of the Hunter project of the Thorne program. He's worked with Everette for the last year, and as such they've grown to be almost friends, good acquaintances.
